Hey guys! Been a bit busy so haven't had time to reply but have been reading. Am heading up the coast again for easter and some family are coming up from NSW too so it will be fun!! So won't be able to post for a bit, back Monday.
Shell- Our bubs are about the same age and the same thing is happening here atm, not getting as much sleep as usual :( She's still having one big sleep at night but then doesn't sleep for long after that or during the day either. And she's wanting to feed every 2 hrs again too!
DD is so cute with her smiles, and 'talking' now. When do they laugh?? It sounds like it will be soon because when she gets excited and smiles she makes these cute noises that I think are going to turn into a little giggle soon, can't wait, how cute!!
awwww sara thats what millie does too, its sooo cute.
have a great easter!
Miss J is confused - she seems to think weeks 3 - 7 are wonder weeks :p
Although we had a good night last night - d:own at 8, feed at 2, down at 2.30 and wake 7.15 so I was only up for half an hour. Am getting the nappy change down to a fine art!
Kaz, sorry to hear the weight gain wasn't as good as you had hoped. Have you tried expressing one side before a feed a couple of times a day to build up supply, then give the expressed EBM in a bottle in the evening as a top up? I did this with DD1 and it seemed to help get my supply really going.
Tarkine, hope you are not too sore after your fall :(
SJ, enjoy your break. I am home all Easter as DP is building a pergola - hmm better make sure the first aid kit is fully stocked
Shell hope you have a better day today
Nai what a great night!
Heaven have a good time away. That's so cute that your DD is smiling and "talking"! Leon is so miserable most of the time, I think I may have seen one "sorta" smile :( He's screaming as I type this! (He's with Nanna though, I'm not neglecting him!)
Hmm bad news...af has returned!! :wall: How is this possible?! I was sooo looking forward to not having a period for a while :( Just when things seem to be sorted "down there" and it comes back...sighh. So feeling pretty sorry for myself lol
Better go feed L he's screaming...
Just a quick one as i need to head down the street!!!!
Had MCHN app today, Bella has put on 500gms so she is now 10lb 4oz!!!!
head is 37.8cm(almost 1cm more) and length is 53.9 (almost 2cm more)
She said she is quite happy with how everything is going i just have to get one thing checked out that she is a little concerned about - bella has this dint in her bum crack lol (sounds funny when u type it) she said thats something that goes along with having spina biffida so i gotta see the GP..
But all is good!!!
Happy Easter everyone! We'll be taking it easy...enjoying the losec and antibiotics...and exploding boobies lol...got to keep the sense of humor right? Heading off to my first mothers group today...a little nervous...and to think I have double the decisions to make now in the wardrobe department...Anika and me to dress...she has more clothes than me...fun!
Laura- Yay on weight gain, hopefully the dint will be nothing, I'm sure they juust have to be thourough and get everything checked out to make sure. How is the BFing going?
Holly- That sucks AF is back! Some ppl lucky and not get for months and others not so lucky.
Nai- Lol at stocking first aid kit, hopefully it won't need to be used! Great night had there.
SJ- I love the smiles and chats, after our first morning feed before Ash gets up we usually have a cuddle and 'chat'. Enjoy your time away.
AJP- Yay on good night, yeah Df been good here helping out. No excuse for him now he on holidays.
Tarkine- Maybe chart how much he sleeps and maybe all his small naps do add up to a good amount. How is he after his jabs?
Det- Thanks, we are persevering, Ash was a shcoker we could never get 2nd sleep cycle out of her til she was like one.
Kaz- How are you today? Try not to be hard on yourself the girls have given some good sounding advice.
Ellie- are you getting alot pain in the boobs? Hopefully sorts itself out soon.
OMG my house just got raided..BBL for details.:jawdrop:
Hi all
Sorry for the absence - have been out and about during the day and DD is being a bit ratty at night these days so I haven't had time to be on here. Have just caught up... boy you lot can talk! Will try for personals...
Laura: waiting for details on the "raid"!!!!!! :o Great work about seeing Barb and getting back on the boobie.
Shell: GL with the sleep cycles, DD is similar with waking after 40mins, but she is slowly improving. She'll sleep through a few at night but day time its generally only one or two cycles...
Ellie: you poor thing with the mastitis. Hope the ABs are helping, glad the losec is working!! How did your MG go??
Holly: hang in there, you can do it, the paed will help - just keep thinking that! Bummer about AF returning! I'm still and AF free zone...
Nai: I think we do have similar bubs! Isabel thinks its 3-8 weeks! GL with the pergola making! Hope the first aid kit isn't needed. Tho if you have the rain we do today, there'll be no work outdoors today!
SJ: enjoy your break! I know what you mean about the giggles, I'm looking forward to it too.
AJP: sounds like Millie is getting into the night time routine well! We are still struggling to get Isabel down before 10pm. Sigh!
Kaz: hang in there. You are doing great, even if it doesn't feel like it. Get started on the herbals if you can!
Shell: hope Em is a bit more settled for you!
Tracey: the photo was beautiful. Thanks for sharing
AFM: Isabel is settling into a pattern of being well behaved during the day - awake for an hour to an hour and a half, feed, play then back to sleep for an hour to an hour and a half.
Then at about 6pm it all goes out the window. From 6pm til whenever we can get her down (usually around 10.30-11.30pm) she is really unsettled, cries then feeds, dozes for say 20 mins then cries again.
Don't know how to break this cycle...
jUST WANTED TO SAY hAPPY EASTER TO ALL. I AM AROUND, BUT VERY BUSY. J IS STILL BEING BADLY BEHAVED AND UP DURING THE NIGHT, AND I AM ON MY OWN A LOT AS DH IS AT WORK. I AM SOOO TIRED. E BARELY SLEEPS DURING THE DAY, SO THINKING OF TRYING TO GET INTO SLEPP SCHOOL.SHE HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SMILE THOUGH, SO AT LEAST SHE IS HAPPY SOME OF THE TIME......
SORRY THIS IS IN CAPS. J PUT IT ON, AND COULDN'T BE BOTHERED TAKING IT OFF AND STARTING THE POST AGAIN
wow laura :o hope nothing bad
op millie seems to be ok going down early, though sophie was the same, she went down at 5.45pm for months when younger we have 40-60 mins sleeps here too during the day.
meg hun  i hope someone can help you with sleeps and J improves for you too.
millie has a gorgeous smile too, and a silent laugh, its soooo cute
Sounds like we are all hsving day sleep trouble :( Yesterday to get MissJ to sleep I went for an hours walk along the river with the pram - she slept the whole time. Then in the arvo she slept for an hour in the sling while I walked around the shops (not my idea of fun!). Today to get her to have a sleep I had to go to bed and have a sleep with her - we got 1.5hrs so that was good. At the moment if I'm not holding her she's cracking it so she is making it hard to do anything! Night is ok and we can usually get her to bed by 8pm after 1.5hrs of trying but she will sleep until 7.30 (with feeds of course) but in between she's fighting sleep and refuses to go in the cradle.
millie seems to need a pre bed sleep every night in the sling, i swear shes asleep before ive finished putting her in it, she loves it though my neck isnt! but this routine is working for the moment so sticking with it, she looks so cute in it too
OP- they say that most babies have a 'witching' hour - don't they just get cranky. A GF had 6pm (when DH got home) when bubs was just cranky.
Nai - that sounds like Alex was - he wouldn't sleep in the day - although the last two days - he's been sleeping really well - except tonight I've snuck him into the bassinette and hoping that he'll sleep on his own.
AFM - we still get a 3hr sleep first sleep, then a series of 2hr sleeps. Up at 8am this morning, then sleep at 9.30am to 10.30, asleep at 12 to 3pm, and after that I lost track of the sleeps. DH had DS til 4am this morning, so I managed to get 6hrs of sleep (with my bbs about to explode!).
Hi girls, I have been lurking but no time to do personals as I have my mum here and am trying to make the most of my time with her. It has been great having her here while DD is sick as it puts my mind at ease and I am having a break from the settling, changing nappies, etc. Mum is great at all that. She goes home tomorrow :( so I will be sad again :( but at least DD's rash has just started to ease tonight. Mind you it still looks terribly itchy and red but it is not covering her whole face, just parts of it and her neck. Hopefully it gets even better by tomorrow morning.
Happy Easter to you all. Will have to re-read and catch up on everything later. :grouphug:
Oh And Laura- I hope everything is okay at home, sounds scary hun
hey girls
sorry no time for personals
just got back from the hossy - my nan just died tonite
its sad, but she was 91 and died in her sleep tonite
My dad went to pick her up this morning to bring her over for lunch, and she was on the ground near her bed. She had broken her shoulder when she fell and they took her to hossy. She had an infection so they think that caused her to fall.
The pumped her full of morphine and she just went to sleep and took her last breath.
fly free now nan- enjoy your long sleep
for one to enter the world- one must go- thank you nan
have a good nite girls
oh det...
your nan is going to take care of all our precious angels, i am so so sorry for you loss, may she RIP.
