woohoo! my av is up! i made it myself do u like it?
Laura, it looks great!
Shell, yeah I use the sling a lot - she wouldn't even sleep in that yesterday! The only problem with the sling is that I need to keep walking. If I sit down she wakes up and there's only so long I can walk around - an hour is my limit carrying the extra weight.
On a positive note - she went down at 7pm last night and didn't wake until 4am!! 9 hours straight! I went to bed at 10pm so got 6hrs straight and feel almost human today - yay!
yippeee nai!!! thats awesome..9 hours!! hope it continues!! hows the pergola looking??
shell  about sex, dh wonders why he doesnt get any..doesnt help that he comes to bed after me!
laura looking good!!
we just go back from ikea...$500 poorer.love that place
Looking sexy laura!
Yay on the sleep nai, makes you feel so much better hey?
I haven't really been to Ikea, but keep thinking I must.
Well after the shocker day yest, we had a pretty good night.
Down at 8:00, fed at 3:30, then again at 5:30 when I put her in with me. Slept till 8:30. J also slept right through for once. He got up at 7, and jumped in with us also, and we all slept till 8:30. it really does make you feel like a new person having a block of sleep. I went to bed around 10, so I had 5.5 hrs straight, and feel so good for it!
I'm so jealous of all these long nights sleeps, we are awake often with grunting, groning and farting, then she wakes herself up trying to do it and wants dummy to resettle then of course when it falls out she cries. When do they get to a point where there wind pain stops bothering them? And cause she hasn't pooed since last night she is miserable today.
Me and Df get driven nuts by ikea, I prefer to go furniture shops nearby. He flat out refuses to go there now.
Hi girls, just checking in. Sorry no time for personals it's not long til the next feed is due. I've been kept very busy (and almost out of my mind at times) with feeding regularly (2-3 hourly during the day and 4 hourly at night) and then expressing 5 times a day for 30 mins (after feeds). Most of his feeds take around an hour with changing and burping etc so I usually only get about 20 mins after I've re-sterilised the hand pump to shower, or eat (occasionally both!). I've been topping him up with the EBM. I think he is sucking better the past day or so (keeping at it longer and not giving up so early) and it seems like I have more milk.
I have been reading most posts I think  sorry - just never get enough time to reply cause I'm also reading in the breast feeding section too.
Yesterday must have been the day for not sleeping. Jacob was awake from 5pm to 11pm :o and we had a few nightmare feeds where he wouldn't latch or suck just screamed. Having a better day today but getting so sick of expressing. I've only left the house once since Wednesday :(
Hope you're all doing well.
Shell - I'm with you! I would love a baby that slept for long periods!
AFM - went around for a family BBQ to the outlaws, and Alex fell asleep shortly after arriving and slept for almost 4 hours!! Of course DH and I were absolutely knackered and we couldn't have a sleep! ARGH!! It sucks being an adult sometimes!
having the night from hell here and had **** all sleep last night!!
Laura- love the avvy and new name! Hot hot hot!
more screaming!!
BBL
Tarkine - I would have just popped inside to the couch and had a nap too
 Ali, sounds like you have hit the dreaded 4 weeks :( I promise it DOES get better!!
Thanks girls! im loving the new me!
As for the raid business, yeah it was pretty damn scary i was sitting on the couch shaking!!
Meg- thats great to hear you got some sleep hopefully you can get some more tonight!
Nai - WOOT! on the sleep! you must feel so refreshed! hows the pergola going!?
Ali - congrats on 'trying' to DTD.. im still not even interested! we have done it wasnt great. i hope things settle down for you so you can get some sleep!! xx
AJP - are you ok? go right ahead and have a tantrum!! i have never been to ikea! from the sounds of it i would probably come back a little bit poorer too!! haha
tarkine - DD wont take a dummy either, i suppose its kind of good in a way? is there anyone who can come and watch alex while you have a nap?
shell - LOL @ the chicken comment. kids say the cutest things sometimes!! this may sound like a silly question but have you tried baby panadol for the wind pain?
Kaz - sounds like he may be having a growth spurt? just remember it will pass :) i hope you get out of the house soon it sucks being home all the time xx
big hello to OP, heaven, MelanieKate, amy and tracey.. hope you girls are doing ok!!
im so sorry if i have missed anyone!!
AFM: Bella is doing ok, today has been a wierd day she hasnt slept for more than 20 mins at a time and has been demand feeding.. (is that normal for a formula fed baby?)
As for the breats feeding - everything was going great but i got really bad grazed nipples again and was almost in tears everytime i fed her. The thing i dont get is her attatchment was ok because for the first couple of days it didnt hurt at all when i fed her and i could see she was getting a good mouthfull then all of a sudden it just started to hurt and i realised my BBs were really badly grazed!
Is anyone in here going to the melb meetup in june?
Sending everyone lots of sleepy vibes xx
Nai - I just realised from another thread that we were both in FPH at the same time. A shame we didn't know each other to go say hi
Nai- I actually got out the swaddle rug thing that does up with velcro. There is now ay she is getting out of that! She is asleep now but I am wondering for how long.... I have also noticed she is becoming fussy on the boob, waving her arms everywhere pulling on and off. I am glad to hear that they get over it. Hope you have some entertaining coming up so that you can make use of that new pergola of yours. So jealous!
We had a really lovely day today. SInce DP had to work tonight we decided to have some friends over for a BBQ brunch and it was soooooo good! I love breakfast esp hot breakfast! Even had a glass of champagne and OJ as I had just fed Ash. I actually felt a bit human and my lovely guests even washed up for me! They can come round anytime!!
Tarkine- Isnt it easy in life being a baby, you get pushed around everywhere, cuddled all the time and not a care in the world, oh and dont get me started on te freedom to sleep whenever they want or choose to. I am starting to reminise (sp?) about my sleep ins when I was pregnant...long gone now!
Kaz- Sounds like your supply is building now which is good but you must be so exhausted. Have you thought about expressing in the bath? At least it might be a bit relaxing for you and I heard it can help with getting a good let down. Big  to you hun
Megie- Hope you get another night like last night. That sounds like its getting on the right track. :)
Shell- I want a sleeper too! Have you used wind drops to help with the wind pain? I think they can have them after they reach one month??? The other girls might know more about them.
Jols- how is your DH at putting IKEA things together? Or do you have a good neighbour like Nai does that can put it altogether
ETA- Rainbow Raver- I hope your nipples heal up. When mine got grazed, i just kept on espressing colostrum or milk on them and let them air dry at night  you are doing a great job trying
about to go to bed so will do personals later..
ALI of the 5 boxes of things to assemble i did 3 while dh was out playing poker!
Shell & Ali - yes the wind drops are fantastic! i swore by them when logan was a baby and yep they can have them when they are 1 month!
Ali- im so jelous of your day!! its nice when people offer to help isnt it :)
hey girls
all good here
Laura- love the new avvy- very spunky! Get that nipple cream that everyone raves about- lansinoh- or something like that- it is ace!! Keeps my nips in tip top condition!!LOL
to those mummas getting slabs of sleep- whoot- that is awesome- for those who arn't- hang in there - it will happen!!!
Levi hardly slept Easter Sunday- cat napped here and there and was at IL's at nite- there were heaps of kids so he wouldnt sleep- finally after they all went home he to sleep at 11.30pm. Hence today he has slept all day and all nite- he was stuffed. He would wake for feeds- stay awake for minutes, and then zzzzzz. So hopefully he sleeps tonite- but i reckon he will be up every couple of hours.
We planned my nan's funeral today so that is on friday. Its the first time the twins have had to deal with death in the face. They are both very sensitive and very 'in tune' with the universe so although they are at one with it all- its still going to be a biggie. DS esp picks up on things of the spiritual nature so it will be interesting how he deals with a funeral. He is a Chrystal child and DD is a rainbow child.
Kazz- awesome of the expressing and the feeding- i hear ya!!! that is what i used to do with the twins- including the expressing!! Its damm hard and i use to average around 40 mins off in between. One thing i did learn was to go to sleep very quickly- lol- hang in there!!!! It is worth it and you are doing the right thing!!!
Thinking of taking the 3 kids to the zoo by myself tommorow. Its gonna be a nice day. Anyone want to join me?? LOL Wish me luck- nah it will be all good
hugs to everyone else - gotta get some sleep - my eyes are sore so i must be tired lol
mwah
Just wondering have you girls all got your birth certificates back? I havent yet and the money hasnt come out of my account. Just wondering how long these things should take?
Also if it has been lost in the mail then what would happen?
DP went back to work today :(
I posted a thread in the bf support forum and it looks like I might now have an infection in one nipple on top of everything else going on atm. :( When does it end? I don't even get the last issue fully sorted before the next one is upon me........... going out & ever bfing in public seems impossible right now. I want to go back to the first couple of weeks when I thought everything was going so well.
Ali - no birth certificate here either. Haven't checked my account.
Hi everyone else! Hope you all have good days. No time for personals, going to try and have a shower before Mr. J wakes up.
Ali - your easter brekky sounded good. We got our BC back pretty quick, but I'm guessing there could be delays. Ring them if you want to find out about when to expect it.
Kaz - hope u got ur shower.
Det - hope all goes well for the twins and the funeral. Children are a lot more open to the spiritual world.
AFM - monster baby last night - clingy and co-sleeping he was whingy... DH is still around the house but he's sleep exhausted too, although he says it is because he can't wind down as quickly as I do, but I've taught myself to do this.. sigh.. men!
Natives are restless!!
Must be the time for shocker babies, I was kept awake from 1am til after 4am last night, so tired today. The night started off so well too, she'd done an explosive poo so was all good fed at 7:45 and was sound aslepp by 8:15, NEVER settles that fast. Should've known it'd go downhill.
Ali- We got ours back really quick within a week, my friend didn't get hers either and when she called up they said they thought she didn't want and actual certificate but just registered the birth so chase it up.
Kaz- You are having a bad time of it, I hope you sort it out quickly, keep telling yourself one day this hard part will be a distance memory and you'll be breastfeeding with ease. Hows it going with DP back at work?
Det- Nice day for the zoo, we just went to werribee zoo last friday, I've decided Melb zoo alot better. Enjoy the day!
laura- Ouchies on the grazed nipples, maybe its like starting from scratch again, I had grazed nipples in those early days, have you got the lasinoh cream or something?
I'm hoping everyone is getting a nice sleepy day today, Em is asleep ATM, who knows for how long! Got to go out child free this am, bought myself clothes, 25% off at K-mart woohoo, bought Df a wallet for his birthday, 20% off, love sales! His big 40th tomor, having his party sat.
Meg - bugger, it would have been nice to hang out in hospital :D
Det - if you give me a couple of days notice I'm always up for the zoo - I live very close and have FOTZ membership - have a great day! I hope everything goes well Friday and the twins are ok.
Ali - mine came in a week but I am in Vic so might be different.
AFM - the pergola is nearly finished - yaaaaaay! Miss J asleep on my lap at the moment.
Hi girls, the pain has gone away in my nipple so no idea what was going on there but it's good that it's back to normal. Maybe he wasn't latching properly, even though he looked ok. My double electric pump turned up today. Much quicker to express, I'm getting more out, and feeds seem to be going better, although there's still another 1-2 and he usually gets more agitated/difficult as the evening wears on.
My nan died this morning. She would have been 92 next week. She had dementia, was very unwell and had wanted to go for a few years now but it's still sad.
Det, I hope our Nans are having a cuppa together in heaven. Mine will be doing a tapestry for sure - she hasn't been able to do craft/sewing stuff for years now.
I'm going to get in here to do personals soon, I promise!!
Kaz, sorry to hear about your Nan, I hope she is having that cuppa with Det's Nan.
Check out me and my new avatar :D
kazz- so sorry about your nan. yep definately they would be doing their taperstry's together and knitting!!! hugs hun
survived the zoo- kids were awesome- Levi even stayed awake for 3 hours whilst we were there to take it all in. They loved it. We were there for 5 hours!!!
off to do paperwork
mwah
kaz im so sorry to hear about your nan
WOOOT look at you nai!!! sexy mumma!!!
Hi girls,
Kaz- you poor thing. It is a big adjustment when DP goes back to work but you will get used to it. If you are struggling though call out for some help from friends or family. I am sure he wishes he was home with you and Master J. Good to hear that the nipple isnt hurting as much. Our bodies jsut do strange things sometimes dont they. I hope the emectric pump makes it easier and quicker for you to express. I am so sory about your Nan. That is a great age to live until but the loss of someone still hurts so much. Maybe yours and Det's Nan's will be looking over Milana and giving her cuddles for us.
Det- Your day at the zoo sounds great. I think you should write a book about how to be a chilled out, relaxed mum! You are super woman and now doing paperwork! Make sure you are getting some rest as well though. I am sorry about your nan passing as well. I hope today helped the twins and took their minds off the death of their great nan. How do you know what "type" of child yours in in regards to rainbow & crystal, etc? Just curious as I have heard my cousin refer to her little girl as a rainbow child as well.
Tarkine- how are the natives tonight? Mine is asleep on a cushion on the lounge next to me. Too scared to move her in case she wakes up! We had a horrible night last night too. I felt like a zombee this morning!
Nai- Looking good in your avvy hun! I love the vino in the background as well!!!! :D
Shell- Way to go on getting out childfree! It feels a bit strange but somewhat enjoyable!
Laura- I went and got some wind driops today to have on stand by! Thanks for that! Hope you have had a good day
Tracey- :hello: thinking of you
Megie, Holly, OP, Heaven, Jols, Ellie, Amy, Mellie - How are you girls going?
AFM- Well got through another day. Had DP home todayu which was awesome but the poor thing was asleep for most of the day as the guy that was supposed to take over last night at 11pm at work never showed up so DP had to stray and work a double shift until 7am this morning!!! I told him to tell them that he would not becoming in this arvo for tonights shift as that was ridiculous! He was so exhausted and starving after a 16hour security shift. Anyway has been nice having him home tonight. Going out for lunch tomorrow with some gf's from work and my sis is coming over to visit in the morning. So a busy day for us tomorrow.
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Have tried really hard tonight.
:grouphug: to everyone.
Hello everyone!!
Hope you all had a good Easter! We had a good time at the coast. DD was a bit cranky though, don't know what was wrong with her, and DH was really sick on Easter and in bed all day, not good. But we didn't catch it luckily.
Have discovered that DD will sleep in the Basinette during the day if I put her on her tummy. Makes me nervous but at least we have the breathing monitor. Anyone else sleeping bubs on their tummy? I don't do it at night, I'm too scared, lol.
Well, there was a house full of ppl on the w/end and I managed to breastfeed in front of them!! Am feeling a little proud of myself, I think I've got the technique worked out now, lol. Had a bit of a sore right nipple the last 2 days and I had no idea why it just hurt when she was on and was a bit red but looked the right shape and everything when she came off. So I have been extra vigilant with attachment and it seems to be ok today, not hurting. Thank God, I didn't want any more dramas!!
OMG, just when I was typing this DD laughed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's asleep, LOL, in the HAB. She made a little noise and I thought great she's waking up, and then she did a little giggle and I looked down and she had a huge smile on her face, lol, it was so cute!!! But she was still asleep, must have been dreaming of boobies, lol. She hasn't laughed yet, now I'm going to try make her when she wakes up!
Heaven- how cute with the laugh, I'm sure Em laughed once cause her whole chest was shaking like it does when you laugh and has a very strange noise and big smile! WTG with the BFing too I don't mind feeding in front of ppl but if she plays up and does the on/ off screaming I hate it. I'm too scared for tummy sleeping unless she is on me but I do put her on her side, that way she can have her knees up and help with wind pain.
Ali- Thats so crap for your DP, I hope he got paid overtime for that. We use the wind drops, they've helped a bit but not a huge difference, we really have big probs with wind.
Kaz- I hope your nana is having a fabbo time up there being able to do all the things she used to enjoy.
Going to MCHN today for weigh in, see if she can offer anymore tips to help with wind, I hate her being so unsettled and in pain.
Hi girls,
Sounds like everyone is really busy. Det, can't believe you survived the zoo by yourself with the 3, you are super woman!
Nai and Laura, love the new avvies!
Ali, we got the birth certificate back about 2-3 weeks after posting off the info... would have been sooner but my Mum as one of the witnesses signed and dated the form as the 29th Feb instead of the 1st of March and I didn't pick up on it before I sent it off so they sent back the form and asked us all the resign with the correct dates! Oh your poor DP, that guy that didn't turn up owes him big time.
Heaven, that is ADORABLE that DD giggled! L's done that once and of course, never since, but so cute. He has only smiled a few times and very quickly.
Kaz, sorry about your nan. Good to hear your nipples are better
Shell happy birthday to your DP!! Hope you had a better night last night.
Tarkine, also hope you had a better night too.
AFM, I'm finding it all really hard atm. L is still so restless and grizzly and screaming during the night. Went to the paed yesterday and was told his reflux and heartburn is due to the way I am feeding and my really good flow! He said my flow was like a tap dripping into his mouth and he has no option but to swallow, but coz my flow is so fast he is gulping in lots of air as well...anyway so now I have to feed lying down with him lying on my tummy (tummy to tummy) so it's as if he is sucking from a straw lol. Also taking donnalix for his colic and sore belly and have a script for infant zantac if things don't improve. He was weighed as well and has gained 400g in 5 days which the paed says is too much! Ahhh I really can't wait for my happy little baby to arrive - and sleepy baby! OH what I'd do for a good 3 hour stretch of sleep
Great...he's starting again...back later xox
Woot! The pergola is finished!! Here are the shots

Shell- Oh yes, when she does the on/off thing it's not good, I had to retreat to my room, lol. Good luck for the weigh in, hope they can give you some tips!
Holly- OMG you just can't win, I didn't think they could put on too much weight! All I've ever heard is you can't overfeed a breastfed baby!!
Nai- Looks great!! And so are you with your new avvy btw!
Hey all
Sorry for the absence - DH and I took DD down to the in law's beach house over Easter, got back last night and then I've been out and about today.
Sounds like everyone had a pretty good Easter, good to hear! I'll try to catch up...
SJ: how cute with DD giggling. Must have been a gorgeous moment :D
Nai: agree with SJ, looks great and love the new avvy :D I think I should get onto my avvy request!
Holly: you poor thing, how can they possibly be gaining too much? Sigh, just when you think that you have one thing sorted out, another crops up. Big hugs for you
I really hope the Donnalix and the new feeding position helps. I had to feed semi-reclining for a while - we are just good milk producers :D Sounds like you are keeping a good positive attitude hun!
Ali: that is just terrible about DH being forced to work a double shift. Hope he is recovering ok and still getting to spend time with DD.
Det and Kaz: so sorry about your nans. Even when its sort of expected, I know it can still hurt. Hope your families are all ok.
Shell: how did you go with the MCHN?
Tarkine: how is DS today? Hope you had a better night last night.
AFM - we had a mixed time down at the beach house. Isabel has been dream baby during the day - still doing her good daytime routine, but then she was absolutely rotten overnight. Would start screaming at about 7pm, then yell and yell until she was fed, then doze and scream again. Grandma couldn't believe it.
Then she wouldn't settle until midnight and would wake after only 2hrs or so. We were there for 3 nights and had hardly any sleep. I don't know if it was because she was in a new place and a new cot or what.
Had a weigh in yesterday and our 8wk check - the MCHN is worried about her favouring one side of her head and said that could be causing her unsettled periods - if she is sore in her neck then by the end of the day she would be pretty achey and unhappy. So we're off to the baby chiro as soon as they can fit us in.
On a positive note though she is doing everything an 8wk bubba should be - smiling, looking at mum, following a rattle with her eyes, moving arms and legs. So that's all good. And she's weighing in at 5.7kg now! That puts her back on the 95th percentile! She's 61cm too which is the 97th percentile! :o
Hope everyone else is going well!!!
arrhh ive been slack again!
sara glad your trip went well!!! awesome job b/feeding in front of others, well done hun!!!
nai  must join facebook so i can see those pics!! glad its finished
shell how did you go today at the nurse??
op sounds like miss isabel is a bit of a party animal at night, millie saw clare the osteo at the bellybelly centre when she was 5 days old, i highly recommend her,
millie had her first ever vaccinations today and boy did she cry  poor bubba was awful :(
she was grumpy tonight but went down ok, will see what the night brings. gets millie weighed tomorrow so will be interesting to see how much she was grown
Heaven- sounds like a great weekend away! Its always nice to get away and well done on breastfeeding in front of the fam! I love your pic in your ticker. I think you have had such a journey with your bf and i am so pleased to hear about your successes with it now and I think your pic says it all.
Holly- hang in there hun. I hope Master L improves soon. You never know..you might have the best toddler years ahead of you seeming this first part of the journey has been hard and difficult on both of you. Hoping it all improves for you soon.
Nai- :hooray: for the pergola finished! Looks great!
Jols- Read your thread about the expired medicine! Would give me the ****s as well! SHould not happen. Hope DD is doing alright after her injections tonight.
OP- sounds like a great mchn appointment today with Miss Issy! She is a tall girl like Ashlyn. We have our appointment tomorrow.
AFM- Had a great day today! My sis came over and then we walked up the shops and I met some gf's for lunch and she went to work/ Then I fed DD in the mothers room and changed her and then went shopping for the arvo with her and we didnt leave the shops until 4:30pm so we were up there for 4 hours! Was impressed! Made the day go really quickly. We walked hom and then DD is really starting to enjoy her bouncer (which is great for me), we also had a bath together tonight (so lovely!!!!- If you havent done it make sure you do!) and now she is crashed out on the couch!
Not waking her up until I go to bed. Got a busy day again tomorrow. MCHN appointment and then mothers group at a cafe at flower power nursery (I haven't been before so hoping they will be nice mums).
Oh how funny is this....I actually went out and bought something i keep seeing on an infomercial in the early hours of the morning when nothing is on tv...the news David Campbell album....I really like it!)
Hope we all get good sleep tonight
you dag ali!! glad you like the CD
im sure your mothers group will be lovely, just remember to give getting the know them some time.
4 hours at the shops :o !!
millie slept so well last night, must be drowsy from the vaccinations, slept 9hrs fed at 4am and is still asleep.
pity i only slept for about 4.5hrs all night :(
off to the nurse today them millie and i are going shopping! sophie is at my folks today
OP- DD was a bit unsettled over easter too, I can't work out if it was coz we were in a different place or bc I ate too much chocolate, lol. DD favours one side of her head too, I have just now succesfully got her to sleep on the other side in the HAB, wonder how long it will last. I'm paranoid about her getting a flat head on one side, lol.
AJP- aww......poor millie with the vaccinations :( Did you get all of them? I still haven't worked out what I want to do about it, I'm not sure I want all of them, I will have to research. She didn't have Hep B or anything at birth.
Ali- Thankyou!! I am so glad BF is easier now and I feel so much happier! Have a good time at mother's group!! I haven't found one yet, but I just discovered I can get DD weighed closer to home by a MCHN so I'm going to go there next time and also ask about mother's group!
AFM- Bad night last night, DD woke up at 3am and didn't go back to sleep until 6am and then woke up at 7.30am!!! I'm tired. She was farting all night and waking me up, lol. Maybe I've eaten too many easter eggs? That's all I can think of. She wasn't crying that much or anything though. She would just whinge a bit everytime she needed to fart and then felt better, lol.
OP, L seems to favour one side as well and we are off to the chiro in an hour, hope it helps. I don't know how long my optimism is going to last though. I know it's only been 7 weeks but it seems like everything that could go wrong with a new baby is happening to us. Bl**dy hell, I just wanna feed him, why is it soooo difficult?! :wall:
Heaven, yeah I didn't think you could overfeed a bf baby but apparently you can! Thanks for replying in my thread...quite often when DS comes off my milk is still squirting out too like a water pistol! Ahh it would be funny if it wasn't causing such a problem! DS was awake all night trying to fart and poo too! This happens EVERY single night without fail. He NEVER does a poo during the night, always first thing in the morning though (around 8-9am). He will grunt and strain and grizzle all night trying to do it, but it never comes out, only when daylight comes...it's so strange and SO annoying and I have no idea why.
AJP, poor Millie! I still am undecided about vax...I am more inclined to omit some and delay them but then how would I go about turning up to get him done and asking for them to customise his vaccinations! He didn't have the Hep B at birth either. Will keep pondering this one... happy shopping anyway!
Ali, I hope I do get good toddler years! I've watched my mum struggle so much with my sister (almost 4 yrs old) - getting her to eat, toilet train, poo troubles, lose the dummy, go to creche, etc and I'm pretty nervous! I'm sure I'll still be here venting to you all anyway. Glad you had a good day yesterday. Let us know how MG goes.
AFM, still plodding along. Gotta go get L some new clothes and more swaddleme wraps in a larger size - the porker just keeps piling on the pounds, he is in 00's now and he was born 2.8kg fitting 00000's! Some 000's still fit but just ever so...depends on the brand really. Had a so so night. MIL stayed over (she has stayed the last 3 Wednesday nights as it's her day off) and helped a lot. I fed and she would take L after to burp and put him back to sleep (well try to anyway) so all I had to do was whip the boobie out and go back to bed! Well I better go have a shower and get organised. Gotta go to the chiro and do a bit of shopping. Have a great day everyone :)
Kaz - :grouphug: sorry to hear about your nan.. they are never far away and I'm sure she is watching over you and Master J.
Nai - woot on the pergola being finished - not a member of facebook.
Holly - hang in there sweetie - it is just a phase and it will pass.
Ali - hope the CD is good
Heaven - DS doesn't like me eating too much chocolate, so the easter bunny visited DH but didn't visit me!
How are you partners going with the sleep disruption? Do you go to another room or do they sleep in another room? Would like to hear how you are handling it.
AFM - Went to the MCHN nurse on tuesday - after walking for 3 hours (to try and give DH some sleep time - don't get me started with that one - anyway at the clinic the nurse says "ohh he looks unsettled", then monster baby lets loose with a big cry and a huge chuck which goes right down the side of my shirt - his biggest to date! I had fed him before we left home and asked DH to burb him for me, which he didn't (not happy). Found out that Alex doesn't like me eating icecream or diet soft drinks because he kept throwing up for 24 hours after I had it (could have been a growth phase but it settled down). Do I dare say he's been a good baby and is sleeping at the moment. Had a talk yesterday on sleeping at the mums and bubs group and of course, DS slept through it!
Going to strangle DH at the moment - he's just been a PITA. He's still at home, 'working' overnight on his internet business, but he only takes DS for a few minutes, then when DS starts suckling DH goes "ohh he wants a feed" and hands him back - even if he has just had a feed! He goes on about the lack of sleep he's had. I do remind him that I've spent 6 hrs at the MILs house to give him time to sleep and its his own fault for not sleeping. Told him I'll buy a mattress and go on the floor in the nursery so I don't disturb him at night when he gets back to work but he doesn't want me to.
Tarkine- I sleep with Em and Df sleeps in the spare bed in what will become Em's room, that way he doesn't get too disturbed and he is next door to Ash, his job to get up to her if she wakes. It works for us. Df does same thing when Em starts suckling, have to keep reminding him that babies just want to suck alot not that they are hungry!
Holly- You think L is improving yet after yr appt? Hope you get more sleep with him, yay on weight gain, better to put on alot than not put on! A friend of mine her bub is little chubber too, he put on alot like L, think it equaled to 90g day! He looks healthy tho.
AJP- You should have been sleeping for those 9hrs! How is she after the vacs? All good today?
Heaven- Thats our prob most nights, Em is a shocker with wind and farts like trumpet! Maybe something I am eating who knows!
Ali- pmsl, just saw that infomercial last night for the millionth time and switched over, not much on at that time night. I end up watching weather on SBS.
OP- Let me know how chiro goes, a friend was recommending one for me the other day with Em being so windy and unsettled, she too only lays on one side, I try lie her on other side but within few mins she'll have rolled back other way seems to hate her left side.
Our visit to MCHN was good yesterday, Em put on average 25g day, spoke about wind and unsettled, she said to keep doing what I am doing and if gets worse maybe go see my GP, we both hoping that the increase in being unsettled in last week is due to the 6 week unsettled period and nothing more.
sara millie was a little unsettled sunday/monday and i blame the chocolate, i hope you got some rest today.
holly must be lovely having MIL stay!! i hope the chiro helps with leons neck, we took sophie when she was a baby too, she did have a flat spot.
shell how much does Emily weigh now???? im too lazy to turn on the tv during night feeeds, that and paranoid of waking sophie.
tarkine men seriously dont get it do they ...grrrrrrrrrrr they always assume babies need feeds as soon as the do something other than the norm! how much does A weigh???
really wished id slept better last night soooo tired today :( though cheered myself up with some retail therapy
millie was weighed today shes now 5.25kg only up 250g in 2 weeks, 59cm long and head 38
sophie is at my folks today so i have some lurking time on here while millie is sleeping
Em is 4.55 now, think she and Ash are pretty much same weight from when Ash was same age.
Tip for everyone, use the vacuum cleaner to get them to sleep! No I don't mean suck them up with it lol but I remembered when I vacuumed Em went off to sleep so we've set it up under her bassinet and when she wakes and cries turn it on and off she goes to sleep. Wait few mins and turn off again, she had a great sleep this morn best one ever. Hope it works everyday.
What did you buy Jols? I love shopping!
