Babies Born February 16th-28th 2009 #3

Hi girls, had a really annoying morning.

I turn up at the MCHN for my 10am appointment and the lady goes are you such and such and I said no this is Ashlyn asnd she said I dont have you in until 12midday! I said well I was going to be coming last thurs at 10am and my daughter was sick so the lady transefered the appointment straight over to the same time following week. Her response was well I am so sorry maybe you can just pop over to the shops and have a coffee?! WTF have a 2hour coffee with my 5wk old DD when I didnt have the pram or sling! What a moron! LOL! ANyway so I just said I am not coming back today and booked in for next week. SO annoying!

Didnt go to mothers group either! I am a slacker. I just didnt feel like it and was in a bad mood after my morning. Will go next week.

Trying to think what else is happening with me but cant right now. DD has been quite good the last 2 days. :) SHe is smiling so much at me and has a few other rally funny looks that she does!

Jols- I am a dag! I old DP I bought it for my parents! LOL! Hope you and Millie had a good day out together.
Heaven- i think choccie does effect them. My dd is the queen of lettign them rip (better out than in), you can hear her in the next room!! Hope she sleeps well tonight for you.
Holly- that is great MIL helps you out one day a week. Do you guys get on well? Hope the chiro appointment goes well. :hug:
Tarkine- I have a DP like yours when it comes to "oh she's a bit unsettled I think she wasnts some milk"! They just dont seem to get that they could settle them as well if they tried. With sleeping, I co-sleep with DD in the bed and DP is in the spare room. I have had him in with us a couple of times but it just doesnt work cause he gets the cranks as DD is so noisy with feeding and I refuse to get out of bed to feed her as it just wakes her up to much. I feed her in the dark, just the light from the power point light is enough. It works for us. We both get better sleep and I am not stressing about waking him up and more room for DD and me! My aim is to put her in her cot at about 12 weeks but will see how we go!
Shell- thats a good weight gain! Hope you girls had a lovely day.
Kaz- How are things with DP at work :hug: Hope you and master J are well.
Laura- Hows the house going? Did DP's mate help clean everthign up and has Logan asked you any questions about it? Hope you have had a good day.

Ali - what a PITA.. not surprised you told them you'd be back next week.. hate it when people mess up appointments.

Shell - can I suck DH up with the vacuum cleaner? (hehe)

Alex has put on 260g each week - now weighs in at 5.5kg and is in the 75th percentile for height, so he's going to be tall.. don't ask me the rest of the stats, can't remember them.. another visit in a month.

Good news DH has a contract for 3mths - phew!! don't have to think about going back to work in June!!

Tarkine - yay on DH's contract!! Now you can relax a bit.

Ali - how annoying about the MHCN. LOL at you buying the CD and saying you bought it for your parents!

Holly - yay for MIL and I hope the chiro goes well. FWIW, my friend had a baby who was BF and gaining like Leon is. She just kept feeding her as normal and her DD is fine. She is 6 now and completely normal size - she was just obviously producing lots of good milk.

Shell - good idea about the vacuum!! I have used the hairdryer to settle Miss J but the vac is probably more practical. Hey I might even actually use it for it's intended purpose if I have it out :lol:

Heaven - I'm sure the chocolate does upset them a bit. However, I can't seem to stop eating it until it's all gone (I'm even eating DD1's - is that bad?)

AFM - I had a bit of an upset tummy yesterday so I missed exercise class but I did go to playgroup (not sure Miss J is really playing that much yet) and I went for a 5km walk this morning. I have yet another appointment tomorrow for that pesky umbilical granuloma. Hopefully it will be third time lucky and this will be the last time. We have our 8 week check on Monday and J's first lot of vaccinations :(

Det - Thanks for your support with the feeding stuff hun! So sorry to hear about your Nan. I hope that tomorrow is ok and the twins cope alright. Hats off to you going to the zoo :clap:
Ali - Well done for entertaining! I dream about being able to do that again. 4 hours out of the house deserves a :clap: too!! Sorry you had an annoying morning - that would be a PITA without a 5 week old! Hope tomorrow is better for you. Things have been ok with DP back at work but Mr. J is pretty good during the mornings/early pm and it's around 5pm that he starts to get unsettled so I've still got DP here for the witching hours.
SJ - I had the same thing happen re: sore boob for a day or two and then it went away! Glad you had a good trip away.
Shell - Sorry to hear Em still has bad wind so regularly. Sounds horrible. She's gaining weight well though! Great idea about the vac cleaner - will have to give it a go!
Nai & Laura - Love the new avvys girls!! Lookin' good!
Nai - Great news on the pergola getting finished! 5km OMG!!! Well done.
Laura - How scary that you got raided! I hope Logan is not too traumatised. Sounds like they went over the top! Hope you're ok and that DP's friend has made it up to you guys.
Holly - What a PITA to have to feed lying down all the time! You poor thing. It's a pity you can't share some of L's weight gain with Mr. J!!! Did the paed think he would grow into coping with the fast flow?
OP - That's great that Isabel is doing so well with her milestones! I wish you were getting more sleep though. Hopefully it will pass soon.
AJP - Great weight gain there too hun! Hope Millie was ok today after her shots.
Tarkine - I think lack of sleep makes everyone a bit crazy! That was really good of you to give your DH a 6 hour break. Fantastic news that you can take more time off work. That's unreal. Great weight gains for Alex too.
Hi to everyone else! Sorry if I've forgotten anyone.

AFM - Jacob put on 280g last week. :dance: So all that feeding, then expressing, feeding and then expressing and then feeding and expressing some more paid off. I was so relieved. I think my supply has increased although it still seems to drop in the afternoons/evenings just in time for his unsettled period. The two are probably related. Does anyone else find this too with their supply dropping in the pm? I am still expressing but now only 3-4 times a day and I've dropped back the amount he gets topped up too as of today. We still need to make sure he puts on good amounts each week but I'd like to phase out the expressing as a regular thing asap. It really ties me to the house, esp. when his feeds take a minimum of 40 mins.

We've had a pretty good day here. I was determined to get out of the house after more than a week pretty much stuck here (aside from two occasions of getting out for a short period) and we went down main street for nearly an hour :o - first time I've taken him anywhere without DP too! Felt very independent. Can't wait to drive again - Friday week I'll hopefully get the all clear.

kaz- totally normal for low supply in late arvo/early evening-everyones does

your prolactlin level whilst is what makes our milk is at the highest between 1am and 3 am - so by late arvo it is at its lowest!
hence whilst bubs often cluster feed during this time and are unsettled as well

levi is now eating my arm so better go and feed again- been feeding since 5pm

Ok im not doing personals tonight as im having an early night.

i have had the WORST 2 days so far this year...

Yesterday i found out that my cousins dad passed away from a heart attack. He was supposed to be having a bypass soon and yesterday he had an appointment to get die put through (i think that is to see blockages??) anyway he postponed the app until monday because he didnt want to upset his daughter as it was her mum's (his ex wife) birthday yesterday also and they were going out for lunch. He died roughly around lunch time. all i can think of is that if he had of gone to his app he would still be here!! instaed we are having his funeral on monday :(

AS FOR TODAY...It all started when i had to go to the doctors at 3pm, i had to get bellas bum checked out (as some of you might remember from an earlier post) and the doctor said "ok yep she does have spina biffida, i cant feel the bottom of her spine and there is a gap where there shouldnt be a gap!!"
My heart dropped into my stomach, i felt soo sick and all i wanted to do was cry. He asked me if i had been taking folic acid throughout the pregnancy (well actually he was trying to imply that i hadnt taken it) and i said yes i took it religiously as well as iron tablets.
He showed me all these different diagrams and printed me out some information on spina biffida- he also said you need to see a paed right away and we also need to get some X-rays done.
Before i went to the paed i had to get bellas needles :( she was a little trooper though she only squealed a tiny bit when the needles actually went in...

Ok so i ended up at the paed's at about 4:10pm and sat in the waiting room until 4:45 and then i finally got called in, he checked everything out and said "nope she is completely fine"
WHAT THE HELL

Nai - 5km walk.. think I'll have to go back to bed.. feel exhausted already!

Kaz - way to go getting out of the house. I remember my first solo outing with Alex - had to feed him when I got him out of the car seat to settle (although he fed before we left home - a whole 20 minutes before hand), then feed him when I got back to the car. Both feeds took 40 minutes. Happy to report that he is now feeding a little quicker.. well sometimes. Now I just bung him in the car seat.


AFM - plan is to go out with MIL to a garden centre to look at plants (my version of retail therapy).. good thing the car is filled with baby stuff, so there isn't much room for plants!!

oh Laura :hug: I was in tears reading that and was so relieved when the otrher doctor said that no she was fine....well thank goodness. I cant believe that doctor making a massive statement like that!!! I would be making a complaint about him hun :hug: although I am sure it is the last thing on your mind right now. Give you r little Bella big cuddles from me and bug :hug: to you as well. Oh and that is so sad about your cousins dad. I hope your cousin doesnt think it is her fault. Even if he had gone to the appointment, he still may have had the heart attack. It is very sad though. :hug: You poor thing, you are having a rought trot at the moment.

Kaz- Great work on the outing! Good to start out small and build conficence, soon you will be driving J everywhere having little outings! You should feel very proud.

Nai- You are going to be in the best shape! I cant believe how well you are doing after a c-section!!! You have inspired me to get my butt into gear. DP is getting a mates (who is overseas) treadmill out of storage for me on the weekend. MIght make it a little easier to work out (esp in winter).

Shell- Funny you say that about the vaccum, the other day I vaccumed right past DD and she didnt wake up. I heard babies like white noise (like fuzzy tv station, hairdryer, vaccum) so will remember to try that next time DD is having one of her moments. At least my floor will be clean!

AFM- GOing to lunch with another gf today. I am walking up so will get a bit of exercise. Must go and get ready and get some washing hung out as well.

Laura, what a horrible time you've had :hug: I'm so sorry about your cousin's dad. My heart sank when I read that Bella was told she had Spina Bifida but I'm sooo relieved to hear she actually doesn't - what a knob of a doctor. Find a new GP hun!

Nai, a 5km walk wowwee! Wish I was that motivated...I should be coz I have so much baby fat to lose!

Ali, have a nice outing! I'm going out for lunch with a gf too. Down at St Kilda so will take L for a nice walk along the beach :)

Kaz - yay on the weight gain! That is fantastic news! Haha I'm just waiting for the plateau now...which I've been told will happen "very soon" at every appointment! "Oh, this won't continue, you'll notice L's weight gains stablising now"....ummm nope!

AFM, going out for lunch today and then dinner for DP's 21st! (which is actually on Sunday). We're going to a Korean restaurant...never had Korean before, I've heard it's like Japanese but spicier?

Laura- So glad to hear everything is fine with Bella, you had my heart drop into my feet! Thank god you got into the paed straight away and didn't have to wait weeks! Grr at the Dr putting you thru that, I wouldn't be seeing him again, some Drs just have no idea. Sorry to hear bout your cousins dad, its horrible there he was thinking of everyone else and putting his appt back, very sad.

Holly- Its my sisters b'day today too. Happy birthday to yr DP, makes me Df look old, he just celebrated his big 40th on Wed, he's having party tomor. Not had Korean hope its nice.

Ali- What pita about appt, she could've at least tried to squeeze you in then and there considering you have such a young bub with you. I know mine would have.

Kaz- :clap: That is fantastic, all that hard work has paid off. Very normal about drop in supply in evenings, I find in the mornings Em will only really have one side but evenings she pretty much drains both breasts.

Nai- 5km walk! I struggle with 1km, lol. Df said to me now I'm using vacuum for Em I could use it for its true purpose, hmmm maybe I will get to it.

Tarkine- Thats great your hubby has contract for 3 months, will there be a possibility of it being extended after the 3 months? Must be such a relief to you both to get some income coming in.

Det- Thinking of you for your nans funeral, I'm guessing its today as you said you were writing the eulogy. :hug:

Hello everyone!!
OMG I'm lost, I haven't been able to reply for a few days bc DD has been so unsettled and a pain in the bum. But I think it's my fault :( I think I just worked out what her problem was when reading some other threads. She hasn't been sleeping for more than an hr for the last week and the last couple of days has been having some tummy pains I think. Anyways, I think I was swapping breasts too early when feeding when she would come off but it was just coz she needed to burp. So she was getting too much foremilk giving her an upset tummy and not enough hindmilk to make her satisfied for long. So last feed she had one side for 25mins then a couple of sucks on the other side and now she's been asleep for 2.5hrs!!
Hopefully she keeps this up and I can catch up!

Laura - So sorry to hear about your cousins Dad hun. :hug: And another :hug: for that scare the doc gave you. They get so business like sometimes, I think they forget that there are emotions involved in medical things, esp. something like spina biffida. So glad your DD is ok.
Det - Was thinking of you today with the funeral. Hope you're ok hun.
Holly - Happy B'day to your DP!! Hope you're enjoying the Korean. Sounds yum!

Tarkine - Hope you found some room for plants in your car!! Jacob's feeds take a minimum of 40 mins atm too. Can't wait until he's quicker.
Heaven - I'm glad you got Grace's unsettled behaviour sorted out. I don't get that whole foremilk/hindmilk thing though. How do you know when it changes over? Some feeds (evenings) I can't get Jacob to feed longer than 10 mins on each side.

AFM - Jacob has fed every 2 hours (give or take 10 mins) since 7am. He is hopefully having a growth spurt! I have only expressed twice today because feeding him on demand is better at getting/keeping my supply up. Is there any way to increase supply in the evenings? I think he is unsettled in the evenings because he is hungry :(

I think it is really special, you try anything you can to honour the baby you have lost.
At the moment collecting teddy bears as well, off the local school and playgroups to give to the bubs in NICU in memory of Milana, a teddy is given to each baby in there, it will have a tag on it with Milana's name and DOB on. The group that runs it is called teddy love club or bears of hope (can also google them) they run all over Australia, they are trying to cover all hospitals.

Kaz- just keep feeding and your supply will work itself out! Just keep going! Its taken 10 week for my boobies to finally start to sort themselves out and keep my supply up at the right times that he tends to want it! Baby wearing is another way to build up your supply as well, or even some kangaroo cuddles! Thanks Heaven for reminding me!!

had nan's funeral today- it was good, but draining. Euology went well- i even got a clap at the end- lol My mum was happy with everything so that is what matters.
kids were fine- DS got really upset when the coffin went down and then he set off the whole room bawling as well- esp all the men- it was amazing - like a big release for everyone. DD withdrew- that is what she does- she goes really quiet. I know it has to come out in the end so i am waiting- she will be fragile until it does - so kid gloves on.
Levi fed just b4 i had to speak and went straight to sleep and zzz the rest when i needed him to- what a champ!

off to auskick in the morning with them all- stars at 8.30 - yawn!!! arnt i lucky! WHOOT NOT!!! its suppose to be DH thing but he has to work tommorow grr. ah well

kids only went to sleep at 10.30pm tonite so its gonna be a loooong day tommorow. Off to brunch at yum cha on sun and then the home show with my brunching besties- so that will be good! Just me and the girls and the boobie boy! LOL

Again jsut wanted to say that I am around, just suoer busy.

I have been reading everyones posts though.

Shell - tried the vacc thing. No luck here!

E is still only sleeping for up to 40 mins at a time, and that is all I can get out of her. Then it is the loooooong process of resettling her continually till the next feed. DH is meant to be helping me out as he is now home from the hol house, and wouldn't you know it, he has nicked off outside and left me to deal with the 2 kids. J is having a "rest" in his room, but won't sleep no doubt. He was up at 5:30 this morning.

E was up at 1:30, then 3:30 when I was too tired to deal with it allm, so I put her in with me. she was doing really well, and going about 8 hours, but we have regressed back to about 5 hours till first feed, then every 2 hour after that. "sigh" J was pretty much sleeping through by now at her age. Ah well, I am less tired than I was when pregnant!!!
J is still being a pain in the bum. Having tanties when he doesn't get his own way, and just general misbehaviour. He does it the worst for me. Not too bad for his dad (probably as he is never around so he sees his dad as fun) He is wonderful for my mum and mil, so they have both offered to have him. That makes me feel like I a "getting rid" of him because he is being naughty. So I have declined for the moment unless I stay there too, so he sees that I want him near me.

Might take the kids for a nice long walk this arvo. Fresh air, and the fact I still need to shift about 10kg!

Holly- have fun at dp's 21st tonight. never had korean either so you"ll have to let us know what its like. Hope master L is being good for you.
Shell- I would have thought she would have squeezed me in but no. I did have better luck at the doctors today though. I was a really young girl on reception and when she read that DD was only 5 wks she pushed me to the front of the list so i didnt have to wait. I thought that was very considerate esp from someone so young.
Heaven-i had the exact same problem with the overfeeding causing more problems. As soon as i stretched it out to 3hourly the wind pains and major unsettledness stopped. I also only feed from one side. i am lucky enough to have heaps of milk and i make sure that she fully drains the breast although i can always squeeze a bit more out. Then i feed from the other boob the next feed.

Oh dear, i just realised that my foot is taping like it is bouncing the bouncer only my foot is on the ground and dd is in my arms,not the bouncer......hmmmm :o think my foot is just used to doing it that i do it without thinking!!!!

Megie- :hug: i hope your walk is good and that DH gives you a break this arvo. I would just tell him for your sanity you need to go out by yourself, pick up the keys and say you will be home in an hour. I had to do that a few weekends ago. I ddnt give him a choice i just said DD is fed and I am out for an hour. :hug:

AFM- well DP and I DTD last night.....hmmmm....things sure feel different, it didnt hurt but i didnt like it...it just didnt feel good and sorry for TMI but i felt less sensitive IYKWIM? Maybe my g spot is gone??? I think i need to speak to somene more about this because I am a little concerned about a few things.

Also was back at the doctors with dd today. A different rash has come up on one of dd'd cheeks and also on her chest. Doc said to switch to QV but also that she has some sort of rash quite common in babies but i cant remember what its called. its not milk rash, it has a long name. She said it will go away soon.

I bought a new mat bra today. Myer have 25% off and a great range. Nothing else happenig. DP is at work again today and the dogs have been driving me nuts today but i feel for them as they havent been for a walk in almost 2 wks!! poor things...

laura- What a stupid Dr!!!!!!!!!!!! :hug:
Kaz- Well, they say they should have up to 20mins on one side so if DD comes off I just keep putting her back on the same side up to 20mins and then if she still wants more I put her on the other side. So hopefully this means she's getting the hindmilk. BUT I can barely get her to have 10mins on one side!!!! Don't know if she's just getting faster or what, hope she's having enough, I feel like I'm having to force feed her!! Just keep feeding in the evenings and he will be getting milk, don't worry. Even if they feel empty there is always milk there promise!
det- sorry to hear about your nan :hug: Well done on the eulogy.
Meg- Having problems getting DD to sleep too, esp at night. She wakes at 3.30am and then it feels like she never goes back to sleep!!
Ali- I have heaps of milk too, boobs are always hard between feeds still! Just fed DD and struggled to get her to have 10mins, wtf! And my BB felt like there was still milk there, not completely empty, although it was pretty full at the start and she was gulping like mad so I guess she's had enough? She's gone to sleep anyway. It's so confusing, I feel like I'm always trying to make her have more and she's fighting me, lol. How long does A feed for?

Well I feel Em is getting a little more settled still struggles with her wind and poo but the last couple days it hasn't seemed as bad, hasn't been bad enough for me to use the infacol drops so good sign. Still not going all that long overnight, seems to wake at same times, always around 1am then again at 4-5am and that feed seems to take a little while to settle afterwards.

Heaven- its hard isn't it, Em never goes for 20mins on a boob I just keep offering the one side and when it seems she is coming on/ off constant or doing this quick type of shallow suck (if that makes sense), like there is nothing left I assume then that side is done and switch to the next.

Ali- yay on dtd, maybe it takes time for it to really properly get back to normal down there? Its been thru a lot, maybe post somewhere on here about it. We didn't dtd til Ash was nearly 6 months so things were def back to nbormal by then.

Meg- I agree with others leave the kids with him and go out shopping or do something nice for yourself. Ash too was going 8hrs by this stage, altho by 12 weeks she did regress. Hope J settles soon for you. We have probs with Ash being very sensitive like crying very easily and also been very fearful of everything lately.

Det- sounds like a nice send off for your nan, glad your eulogy went well, i would've found it hard to get up and do it.

Had DF's 40th birthday party today, turned out well, was a sit down late lunch, lots kids there so Ash had a ball, think Df enjoyed himself, he is still out kicking on well into the night so I'm on my own with the 2 kids. Em sleeps so well with noise, she fell asleep on the way to the party and then slept for 2 hrs there, kept thinking I should record all that background noise and play at sleep times!

Shell have you thought of getting a white noise CD?

Meg- A friend of mine today mentioned something about them, hadn't really heard of them, must look into it, I think it would work so well for her. Might drive me nuts at night tho!

Em very cheeky tonight, fed her and she fell asleep put her down next to me in bed then next thing she rolling over to face me and starts chatting away, then whinging cause she tired then chatting somemore, finally gone off to sleep thanks to the dummy.

i am sitting here with the breast pump, as for the life of me i cant wake E for a feed, and i feel like bursting. She had a small feec at 6 and has been asleep since. she will have to have an ebm bottle if she wakes soon

Bet she woke not long after as they always do!
We had a shocker night, Em just unsettled, don't know why, goes to sleep for 5 mins then awake crying again.
Ash woke twice about spiders again and a lion in her drawers. great imagination. I have to show her its nightime and that they're all asleep outside and then she was fine.
At least the saints kicked ass again last night, grand finbal here we come!

Meg- how did you go last night?

Shell- Shocker here as well. Poor little Ash thinking there was a lion in her drawer! LOL! Thatis a great imagination. I can remember having to get my mum to look under teh bed with me open and double check that wardrobe doors were closed, etc before I would go to sleep.

Ashlyn started off the night really well. Last feed at 9:30 and she was sound asleep until about 3:30 when DP got home from his poker nght with the boys and the dogs started barking and woke her up as she was so startled (I could have killed DP and the dogs), then she wouldnt go back to sleep until about 6:30 then slept until 8 and then wont go back to sleep and I am still exhausted!!!

I really cant wait until they sleep through the night....

I'm really p*ssed off and slightly worried atm...DP went out last night for his birthday, he messaged me at 6pm to update me and I have not heard a thing from him since and it's midday. I'm soooo angry! He's not answering his phone or replying to my messages... sighh. Seriously thoughtless and selfish. I bet he hasn't even thought of me and L. Lucky we had a good night though...L fed at 7:10pm and went to sleep and didn't wake up for another feed until 2:10am! Downside though coz I had to pump as well coz both boobies were exploding! He then slept again until 6am.

Geez I hope DP calls or something soon, I'm getting kind of worried :(

e had a really good night. she woke at 3am then 6am as J woke her. We all got in together till 8am.

Megie, yeah he messaged me about 45 minutes ago. He said he just woke up :rolleyes: He went back to sleep at his Dad's as it was closer than coming back here. Grr! A courtesy call/message would have been nice so I knew where he was instead of making me worry! Birthday or no birthday, I'm still really p*ssed off...and what if I had organised something special for him today (yeah right lol but still!)

Holly - Glad DP is ok!

Must be the day for it...my DH is driving me nuts too! Heard him on the phone to his boss saying how he's not getting much sleep...yeah right...he's sleeping downstairs during the week and not hearing a thing! Oh..and last night when he did sleep upstairs...left as soon as Anika woke up and went down to his 'quiet' bedroom....grrrrr...oh and I should also add that A had done a huge chuck...most of which came screaming out of her nose poor love...so then she couldn't breathe...so I was up for the rest of the night with her...sorry for the vent but really!?@!

Ali- After DP woke the household he should've spent the night trying to settle Ashlyn! Grr at him. Cute pic.

Holly- Df does that to me all the time that now I expect him not to come home! It really annoyed me at first cause I would worry cause I know when he goes out drinking he really gets wasted. Like today he has this massive huge bruise on his side of his chest, god knows if he has any fractures in there.

Meg- Yep, won the CD looking forward to its arrival, glad you had good night.

Laura- You must've had good night, only prob is hangovers and kids don't mix!

Ellie- Men always are thinking how they are suffering, what about us! Poor A, that prolly would've stung bit too coming out her nose and given her a fright.

I'm starting to wonder if alot of Ash's fears are to do with attention seeking, today she kept crying about a fly we had inside saying she is scared and wanting cuddles. She didn't seem really that scared, maybe cause Em is always crying and getting cuddles and attention.

Ali - Ash is just adorable.. wish I lived closer for a cuddle.

Meg - the sleep person at the mums group told us that a paed had said that if you expose the bubs to 20 minutes of sunlight (i.e. a sunlite room) in the morning and mid morning (or maybe afternoon?) it helps them get a better sleep - try it for 4 days.

AFM - well Alex has been sleeping pretty darn well the last two nights - trouble is they have both been in bed with us!! woke twice for nappy change each night,just loves to be close to the boobs. Tried to get him to cosleep with DH at about midday, but he woke at 1pm trying to suckle DH's arm and got the shock of his life - a hairy nipple! :rofl:

He'll only settle on the boob, and won't accept a dummy.. think I've just got to hope that he grows out of it. Read in baby love that its hard to get bubs into a routine until 6mths - only 4 more to go!

Sorry for the absence... just can't get myself onto the computer lately...

Isabel is still having unsettled crappy periods at night. DH and I missed a 30th party last night because she cried, fed, dozed, cried from about 5pm til we got her down at 9.30pm and we just didn't want to leave the house. She's not sleeping longer than 4hr stretches at night either.

I'm just getting a bit tired really.

Laura - that sucks about being told DD has spina bifida but great that she doesn't! Def be getting a new GP.

Tarkine - I've heard that too, we're trying to start the patterning now though - eg bath, boob, bed even if she doesn't settle well, she should start associating those things with going to bed. That's the theory anyway...

Shell, Ali, Holly, sorry you are having issues with various DPs! Dh has been pretty great here - he has looked after DD three times this week while I went out places.

Gotta head home, Isabel is asleep, we're at mum and dad's as my niece was baptised today - Dh and I are godparents! Very special day.
