:hooray: Ash had her best sleep ever last night :hooray:
We both went to bed at 8:30pm and she slept until 1am (5.5hours)
Then fed and slept until 7am (5.5hours)
She is asleep again now butg I have to wake her up so we can go for the 6wk check up at the doctors. I am nervous about it. I dont want them to look down there. I have had enough of being poked, proded and having people look at my hooha!!!!
Be back later today xo
-
woohooo ali!!!! you must feel like a new women!!!
at my 6 week check up my dr didnt even check down there!! i go back in a few months for a review of blood/iron and will get a papsmear then do there was no need then!!
sounds a bit like millie, down at 6.45 fed 2.15 then 7am :o and sophie slept til 7am :o pity the possums in our roof woke me at 12am
-
Meg- Thankyou, I've been looking at all the different types and trying to work out what's best! So confusing!
AJP- Thanks for that. I was looking at AIOs coz they look so easy but then didn't know if they would fit her very well when she's still so little. What is the advantage of fitteds over AIOs?
Ali- Sounds like we were going through the same thing!! Last night DD slept good finally!! But the 2 nights before were awful and she was up to feed every 2-3hrs!! Must have been a growth spurt, thank God it's over! Well I hope it is! I was so tired. Feel so refreshed today! lol.
-
Miss E slept pretty muc hthe same too. Fed at 8pm, then 3am and 7am. J also got up at 7am, and we all cuddled in bed till about 8:30. J and DH are at swimming lesson atm. trying to get E to settle in her cot, but she is not happy :(
Shell - THinking of you hun. I hope you, DF and his fam are ok.
-
Sounds like the babies are starting to get into their sleep routines a bit better now! I got my Wonder Weeks book in the mail yesterday so I can't wait to read it.
Here is a pic of the girls playing in our bed together the other morning
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...3&ppuser=14759
-
Thanks Meg, for those of you that don't know, my FIL only been given couple more weeks to live. I think I've mentioned before he has stomach cancer and its got to point now nothing more they can do except keep him comfortable.
So bit depressing here, plus we've all had bad colds and Em been quite unsettled so we're all exhausted.
-
Evening all
Shell, so sorry to hear about your FIL. Hope you and DP are doing ok, in the face of things.
Nai - you bought one, cool! Let us know what you think - I'm curious!
Your girls are so cute! I am unable to post photos for some reason.
Meg - good sleep! It does sound like all our bubs are starting to settle into a good sleep routine. I hope Isabel is going to follow suit soon...
SJ - glad you are a bit more refreshed today!
AJP - lol @ the possums :D
Ali - yay for Ash's sleep last night! Here's hoping you get the same today. How did your six week check go??
Det - nice to see you again at MG, we'd missed you and little big man! :D Did you know Isabel is the same weight as Heidi??? Have fun at pilates tomorrow morning - might see you for coffee after (or not coffee).
AFM - interesting night with Isabel last night. We were out at mum and dad's determined to maintain the 6pm BBB routine (bath boob bed), got her to sleep in her cocoon (soft pram capsule thing) by about 7.30pm, then she slept until we left, stayed asleep all the way home, stayed asleep when we transferred her to the cradle.
We ended up waking her at about 11pm for a nappy change and rollover feed, she went straight back down after the feed and we were like :o
Was so hoping it was the start of something but then she woke at about 1.45am, 4am, 5am, 6am and 7am
Do not know what is going on.
Went to baby chiro today and he's done some manipulation - she has three little problems, shoulder, neck and head. We'll go back for one or two more sessions and hopefully this will help her head shape and also her unsettled periods.
So tonight we got her to sleep by about 7.15pm and she has stirred once but DH settled her... really hoping we have a good night...
:crossfingers:
-
I will have to do personals tomorrow as am about to go to bed. I am tired after a busy day.
So we go to the doctors today and after waiting an hour :o finally saw our doctor. Ash did really well. No needles today as she didnt have the seperate whioping cough injection as it is a combined one so will get that in 2 weeks. I had my pap smeer and glad I got that out of the way. Get results in 2wks when I go back for DD's needles. Then I met a gf for coffee and then decided to do some shopping. Didnt get home in time for MIL to see me and DD (too bad..so sad!!! ) and then decided to meet another gf int he arvo up there for coffee (ended up having 3 coffees!!! :o :o -Oh dear!) and then came home! DD has been a doll all day! Great at shopping, sleeping- she loves her pram and sleeps so well in it). She is asleep now in her bouncer, will need to wake her soon for a nappy change and a feed just before I go to bed and then we have another hectic day tomorrow!
It is amazing how much they are interacting now! She takes turns talking to me now and I get the most gorgous milky smiles when she stops when she is on the boob and gives this big milky lips smile!!! SO sweet :D
:grouphug: to you all. Been reading all your posts and glad things are going well with eeryone and we are working out these bubbas!
-
Bad colds here too Shell! I have postponed immunisations till her nose clears up.
Also she slept all on about 1 hour today!! Currently asleep - or more like passed out in the bouncer about an hour ago. So who knows what tonight will bring. DH has gone off to basketball and left me one again with the two. He is also going away this weekend to play golf. I can't even get 10 mins to myself!
Ok s0 I started this post back at 7 pm. Since then I have fed E and put her to bed, and she has woken again quite distressed, but resettled. I think I am in for a long night. Obviously something is up. Maybe she is not feeling well, as she just doesn't seem herself.
I knew the last 3 nights were too good to be true!
-
Oh and just another thing. I went back to the gym tonight. Hmmm, so I did have an hour to myself, but that was it. DH looked frazzled by the time I got home, as he haad an overtired toddler, a crying infant and dinner to prepare. Now he knows how I feel, and he only had to do it for an hour 4:30 to 5:30. I think I will be in a world of pain tomorrow though, as I am not used to working out any more.
-
Shell - So sorry to hear about your FIL. That is very sad. I also hope everyone's colds clear out soon  Take care hun!
Meg - Good on you for joining the gym! I don't think I'd have the energy. I've got 10kg to lose too!!
Ali - I haven't been game to drink coffee yet! Only a decaf a couple of times. DS is fussy enough as it is. Did you notice any effects on A? Did you get headspins? lol
Nai - Very sweet! They're so gorgeous!
OP - Is DD perhaps 'snacking' overnight rather than really feeding? If she's waking every hour, perhaps she's only having a small feed and then getting hungry quickly? Sorry, you've probably already thought of that and I am hardly an expert as you'll see below but if you can keep her on longer, she might sleep longer. Just a thought. I hope you get more settled nights soon though darl.
AFM - I did a weigh of Jacob today at the chemist so not particularly accurate but I think he's only put on 120g again :( Feeling depressed. Feeding doesn't seem to be getting any easier here. My supply seems to have increased from a couple of weeks ago when we only had 60g gain and some feeds (late night, overnight, morning) are great but the arvos and evenings are still a nightmare. There is still milk in there that I can squirt into his mouth but he doesn't seem willing to work for it after the initial/first let down. He goes well for about 10 mins or so and then seems to get frustrated. Constant pulling off and re-latching. He does a few sucks (and I can hear him swallow) and then pulls of crying. When offered an EBM bottle he GULPS it down, looks for more but does the same thing when re-offered the boob. Don't know how to change his preference for faster flow and not being willing to work for it!! No wonder he was 11 days late and couldn't get his head engaged!!
Sorry, just feeling really blah and frustrated about it all. When will it get easier? I read about you girls all enjoying your feeding and your bubbas putting on heaps of weight and feel so jealous!!
I'm seeing the doc tomorrow for 6 week check, going to call the ABA, seeing the MCHN next Wed and if no one has any idea or useful suggestions I think I'll call the LC Barb found for me.
-
hi girls
grrrr got a migrane AGAIN! so i can harldy see and its taking me ages to type as i keep on stuffing up the spelling oops!
KAz an idea???- what about swapping more quickly- the first bit of milk is the fattiest part and comes out the quickies- so give bubs say 5 mins on one side- then swap to the other- perhaps then he will put on weight quicker and feed better as he has the quicker milk flow twice. he may be pulling of after 10 mins as then the hind milk is there which perhaps he isnt as partial to. I know it is importnat that he gets the hind milk as well, but you are saying that the arvo/evening feeds are horrors - then perhaps try this technique then.
Good on you meggiemoppit for going to the gym!! Well done!! I am starting pilates tommorow- bubs can come along as well- so looking forward to it! Damm Easter was not kind to me and feel like i am putting weight on again- so time to take action!
Shell- so sorry to hear about your FIL- my thoughts are with you and your family
OP- cant wait to hear about chiro session and how it went- hopefully see you tommorow at BB's for coffe/hot choc tommorow
Heaven- have been following your thread about cloth and you have tempted me to give them a try as well. Gonna speak more to OP about what to get to try them- maybe she can bring some sample for me to have a look at- hint hint lol
AFM- levi woke up laughing this morning and was in an awesome mood all day- he slept heaps , and was only awake for an hour at a time before he went back to zzz all day- except from 4.30 till 8.00pm tonite awake and now back to zzz again! He is such a cruzy kid- OMG my karmic kid after my twins!!
Out ALL day tommorow- school drop off, coffee and catch up, pilates, lunch with girls, then Optomerists appointment and then pick up kids
phew exhausted even thinking about it!
just as long as this migrane goes -grrr damm hormones!!!
mwah to you all
btw we put Levi in the jolly jumper yesterday- he thought it was great- looked so cute bobbing away lol
-
wow det you have a busy day lined up today!!!! have fun at coffee/lunch/ pilates!!! i hope the migrane goes away!!
cloth really is easy and cheaper than sposies!!!
kaz i definatly see an LC, he obviously likes the faster flow and is liking the bottle and expecting your boobs to be the same, he sounds frustrated and is not liking to work for his tucker! the hind milk is the fatty stuff but even after 10 mins he more than likly gotten plenty so it maybe swap sides too after 10 mins and give him the other side, if need be after than 10 go back to the first side, babies get most of what they need in the first 10 mins anyway.
your doing a fab job so dont dispair, a weight gain is a weight gain and maybe using different scales isnt the ideal thing to do as they may measure wrong, id stick with the MCHN ones. maybe pop back into the breastfeeding area hun  but im very proud of you !!!!
meg yay on the gym!!!!!! hope it rains the whole weekend for DH's golf evil i know!!! ( it is ment to rain all weekend here in vic)
shell so sorry to hear about FIL  must be so hard knowing, i bes hes glad he got to meet your two beautiful girls, huge hugs to you guys.
nai gorgeous photo!! ive got wonderweeks and must read up what happening next!!
heaven fitted and covers are great for runny poo's for containment!! two lines of defence, AIO are great too but do work best with solid poo!!
Ali glad the dr went well!! sounds like you had a lovely girls day out did you buy anything?? wait til ashlyn can have babycinos!!!
op did you see the guy in ivanhoe for the baby chiro????? hope last night was a better one for you
laura have you been cooking again???????
AFM millie had a great night, in bed at 6.45 fed at 2.30 and is still asleep (7.15am) im letting DH sleep in so i got up with DD1. typical the millie sleeps in the day i let him sleep in grrrrrrrrrrrr.
-
Hi everyone, hope it's okay if I join your group. My baby girl, Theodora Posy was born on 26 Feb. She is going really well - sleeping through the night and feeding beautifully. I'm feeling pretty good too now that we're in a little bit of a routine.
I know quite a few of you already - lovely to see your messages again on BB
How is everyone feeling physically after childbirth? My body seems pretty okay, although my pelvic floor is still a bit weak. Have to really clench my pfm when coughing or sneezing. Have to keep doing lots of exercises.
-
Hey ladies
Mhami, you can definitely join in! Theodora sounds like a great bubba so far.
AJP - yep we went to see Paul Chamberlain in Ivanhoe. He was great - really good with Isabel and put DH's mind at ease (he was a bit worried about what the manipulations would entail). We're not sure if it has helped or not... had another mixed night, more about that later.
Det I didn't make it to BBs, hope the pilates was good and the catch up good too! Isabel's bit grizzly possibly due to the jabs so we're going to hang around at home. Will chat cloth with you on Wednesday!
Kaz - I've had that thought, or similar anyway, that she is not getting enough in the 5am feed, but I don't know how to wake her up and get her to feed more. Perhaps a cold face washer or something.
As for J, don't despair, as AJP says you are doing everything right! I'd say go straight for an LC - get someone there to watch and try and sort out what's going on. The ABA are great but it can be hard to describe things on the phone, an LC can actually spend time with you etc.
You are doing a fantastic job, even if you are feeling blah. A lot of people would have given up... the drop off around 6wks is pretty high apparently! That's when it is at its hardest! Keep it up. Keep persisting. It WILL get easier.
Meg - sorry to hear about the colds! Hope you're all feeling better soon.
Ali - sounds like you had a good day yesterday! Hope Ash is being a good girl for you today as well.
AFM - we had another broken night. DD slept from 7.15pm, woke her at about 10.30pm, clean nappy and rollover feed, only took one side and straight back down again. Was so hoping she'd sleep for a nice long patch... but she woke at 1.30am.
Fed one side, back to sleep, in the cradle and I thought I'd pump a bit, always good at that time. So I was pumping and heard her stirring, then she woke and cried, serious crying. So I went in and she was wide awake and smiling and cooing at me. So I fed the other side and she went back to sleep.
Back to bed, hoping for a longer sleep... and she woke again at 4.30am. Fed, back to sleep, then she woke again at 6.30am. Sigh. Wouldn't settle for DH, so back on the boob. Then she slept til 8.30am.
And now this morning she has had her immunisations so she is grizzly and tired, been feeding and sleeping since we got home.
I'm just getting so tired!
-
hi everyone!
just quickly wanted to welcome mhami!!!!
BBL for personals...
ooohh i got a new piercing today ;)
-
Meg- Wow, how on earth do you get her to sleep for 7hrs!!!!
Nai- That is such a cute pic!!
Shell- :( That is no good, thinking of you and your family
OP- Sounds like maybe a growth spurt. I had 2 nights like that, so exhausted, but then it was back to normal, hope it's the same for you!!
Ali- how cute is it when they 'talk' to you. I love her little noises!! She's going to have such a cute voice!
Kaz- DD is the same, she only feeds for about 10mins MAX, then she keeps pulling off so I stop trying. I've figured out she's actually full, I was always worrying about it before. I just read something in another thread today saying that they will always gulp down the bottle even if they're full bc it's coming so much faster and they have no choice and they don't get a break to realise that they're actually full. Of course I don't know if this applies or not. DD is still putting on weight with the short feeds now so I assume she's just gotten heaps faster at it. Although I haven't got her weighed for a few weeks, lol, should do that just to check. I'm sorry you're having a hard time  I agree with the others re seeing a LC.
det- lol, I was thinking about trying cloth but then when I saw all the cute ones they had I was even more convinced, lol.
AJP- Thanks for that info, I guess I'm just going to have to get a few and try!
mhami- hello!! Oh, sleeping through the night, I'm so jealous!! I'm feeling pretty good now, had to have a c-section so was feeling pretty crappy for a while. Wish my tummy wasn't so flabby looking though!!
laura- ooh what piercing? I just put my belly button ring back in last night, had been meaning to do it and hadn't so it was a bit closed up at the top and I had to shove it through, ouch! So now it's a bit sore and I'm petrified DD is going to kick it!!
Well, another night with more sleep, so she is back to normal!! Phew. Wish she would sleep longer though. Her big sleep is still only 4-5hrs. Does anyone do dream feeds? I couldn't if I wanted too. Once DD goes down for her night sleep there is no waking her. Even if I open her mouth and shove my boob in, nothing, lol.
-
I really need to attempt personals, Im so sorry I have been slack the last couple of days
Heaven- You might be converting me to fluff as well....Maybe not all the time but they are just so gorgeous and look they are nice and warm as well. hmm will need to investigate your other thread. Our girsl are very similar with their feeding and sleeping.
Jols- Hows the wind going? My wind does not even compare to DD's! They are so loud!!!! I did buy some new makeup for myself which was noice!
Laura- Hope you are okay. YOu know we are all here for you. Tell us about the peircing? I bet it hurt!!!
OP- can DH help you out tonight seeming its Friday? It sounds like last night was exhausting. hug How is she going after the immunisations?
Mhami- hello and welcome. I love your DD's name. My body is as good as it can be after birth I suppose. I think I recovered quite quickly but had a pretty good birth. I HATE my stretchmarks on my belly though. SO self conscious about them :( and i still need to keep strengthening the pelvic floor.
Kaz- Dont be disheartened hun! You are doing a great job. J is putting on weight and my MCHN and GP said that as long as they are gaining some weight (doesnt matter how much and dont rely on the charts) and giving you lots of wet and pooey nappies and is sleeping then all is fine. If he is giving you lots of nappies then he is getting enough milk. you know we are all here for you
Det- you poor thing suffering from migraines. Hope it is gone for you
Megie- Well done on the gym!! YOur DH has it pretty fgood I hope he appreciates all that you do for him and the kids and that he appreciates that he is having a weekend away.
Shell- I am so sorry about your FIL! :( That is awful for your family to deal with. Try and enjoy the time you guys have left with him. Hope you and the kids get rid of your cold as well
Nai- Your girls are gorgeous. Hop eyou all have had a good week.
I apologise for anything I have missed I cant see back any further.
AFM- Busy day. Caught up witrh some Gf's I havent seen in years and had the best time. DD has a little nappy rash today so did some nappy fre time and am back to using bepanthen at every nappy change. I got slack and now poor DD is paying fo rit. DD rolled over last night but am not officially counting it as she hasnt done it again so must have been a fluke! I'm a tough mummy!
-
Shell, Sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope he isn't in pain :(
Ali, I hope you had a good time with the girls - it's nice to get out. I must warn you that converting to fluff is addictive!!
Heaven, I read your post about the car screaming - it does get better!! DD1 was a screamer in the car for a while but it wasn't long before she would sleep wonderfully in there.
Det, I hope the migraine is gone now
Mahmi, welcome! I don't think my body has recovered as well this time but I guess that's only to be expected. I need to really start doing something about it now... can't blame Easter forever...
Jols, I'm with you on the wind factor. Sometimes I am patting DD's back and I burp
Laura, I hope you are doing ok - it must be tough for you at the moment!
Kaz, I hope J is gaining more and it was just those scales. When are you getting him checked again?
OP, I hope things get better for you over the weekend and you get some rest
Megie, well done on the gym - I really really need to get back there. LMAO about your DH being exhausted after an hour!!
AFM - I have had a really busy week. Lots of catching up with friends, taking children to the MHCN, Dr etc and the dog to the vet. I think I must have walked over 30km this week!! Miss J is feeding and sleeping well. She is becoming so much more alert and interactive, smiling heaps and making cute little baby sounds. DD1 has actually been better in the last week and been less whingy and whiny - will see if it lasts but not holding my breath
Miss J had her granuloma done for the 4th time today and it still hasn't gone away! I'm thinking she will have it forever. It's driving me crazy.
-
I got my sternum done!
Thanks everyone, i'm doing ok at the moment, no great but OK.
Talk soon xx
-
Eeeep! Laura, that sounds painful
-
Thanks everyone for the thoughts, he seems ok considering at the moment, they've moved him to pall care place that is quite nice there and he is accepting he won't get home cause I know MIL wouldn't be able to look after him at home.
Nai- Has the Dr suggested anything else or will you just have to keep attempting to treat it same way?
Ali- Count it as a roll! You tough cookie! Lol.
Heaven- We are same biggest sleep is 4-5hrs. I don't do dream feed unless she starts stirring before I'm going to sleep but makes no difference, seems to work for some but not for me, even with DD1 I tried it for few weeks without a difference.
OP- How is she today after the immunisations? I'm still meaning to get Em checked out at chiro, I'm so slack at getting things done!
mhami- Hi and welcome, so jealous your bub sleeps thru!
Det- send your cruisy baby vibes over my way! Lol, you deserve it tho after all the hard work with the twins!
Kaz- I wouldn't go by different scales, the amount that they can differ can be a fair bit. Can you pop into your mchn to get him weighed? Em doesn't take long on boob anymore either and starts yelling, I've figured she just done or tired!
Meg- Good on you going to gym, I want to join this outdoor excercise group where you take your prams so don't need anyone to watch them. My Df is good with the kids one at a time but no way could do the 2 of them I don't think he has tried either, should do it to him and make him see what I do everyday and why I can't find time to eat!
Ash got 2 1st birthdays to attend this weekend so I better get off and ready!
-
I would love to do an outdoor group Shell, but alas none here in Gisborne.
Laura - Owie! YOu will have to post a pic!
Nai - J's granuloma never went away even after heaps of treatments by a few different professionals. In the end he had surgery on it at 18 months.
Ali - Hope the nappy rash heals soon.
Det - Hope you are getting better with the migrains.
We have had two bad nights with lots of broken sleep. What happened to the girl that was sleeping 7 hours!!??
-
Someone is a cranky bear today and I dont know what to do to make her happy. Going to have to go for a walk up to the shops later today as she is driving me insane and DP is at work until 9 tonight.
-
ali im cranky too and DH wont be home from work either til around 8pm
-
Cranky here too as my husband has gone awa for a golf weekend and once again left me to fend for myself'
-
Jols- we are all a bit cranky here. me too. DD is a bit better now after a poo! Geez I wish that would solve my cranky mood! LOL!
We walked up the shops though and i spent $200 in clothes in Sussans and $65 in pumpkin patch for DD! DP is going to kill me but I figured its ruddy money anyway and we are just doing our bit for the economy.
Meggie- dont you just wish it would rain this weekend! LOL! When Dp was playing cricket i used to love it when it rained
Shell- have fun at the parties. you will have to tell me what a 1st bday party is like.
-
ali dont worry its going to rain here tomorrow!! even snow!! so maybe megs DH will get rained upon!!
good on you for getting yourself some clothes!!!
-
I've been feeling really crap about my body lately and do need to get back into shape. I am walking everyday but eating naughty foods as well. I think because I have been going out for lunches and morning teas etc where there are naughty things to have and not only that when DP isnt here I jsut eat as he isnt here to talk to, but buying some new clothes has given me some inspiration and has made me feel good.
Is there really a possibility its going to snow down there? It has gotten so cold in the last week at nights!
-
in the ranges near me its expected, but not at my house! down to 1000metres
i hate my tummy at the moment, still saggy with saggy skin, but i dont have teh energy to excersise :( glad the clothes make you feel better
-
I know so hard to find the energy, I'm waiting til Em is sleeping better before I do join excercise group. I made myself feel better by going out and buying some new clothes that fit rather than trying to do up my old stuff. I even had size 8 clothes that I hadn't fit into for years so finally accepted I wasn't going to ever fit again and got rid of them.
Ali, ikwym about naughty foods, when Df isn't around I just eat crap cause just don't have energy or time to prepare something so eat crap.
1st birthday parties are mainly for the parents usually the parents just have close friends/ family over to celebrate surviving the first year!
Meg- Well all this rain we've had and crappy weather your DH might be paying for his weekend away, he owes you big time I reakon. I stress just having the evening trying to sort the 2 of them myself.
Watched the anzac day footy match with a few Bombers supporters and of course they ended up screaming and shouting at the end and caused the 2 bubs in the room to cry in distress. We had nice day tho. I'm planning on early night. Em is asleep at moment (touch wood) so hopefully stay that way.
14 degrees here tomor, yuck.
-
well i did dinner/bath/book/boob(m only  )/bed/ for both girls by myself tonight :o DH got home around 7.30!
i had DD1 in bed at 6.20pm without a peep from her and DD2 in bed at 6.30!!! was a bit of a juggle but i managed!!!
shell i was feeding millie and watching the game screaming at the tv, i scared her and she cried opps! but go bombers!!!
-
Jols- I am in awe!!!! I need to hire out your services.
 at you girls watching the footy and screaming at the tv!
-
thanks ali!!
i am lucky i have both girls have been easy-ish babies! (touch wood M continues to be easy)
love my footy!
-
I finally had a night out last night with my friends husband while DP looked after the girls :D We went to the footy in the vice presidents club at the dome. Friend's DH and I both barrack for North Melb so we always go tot he footy together and another friend has the membership to the VPclub which we got to use. We had yummy food and free drinks so that was good. What wasn't good is that we lost :(
The girls were very good for DP (damn  )
-
Hi girls,
sorry no time forpersonals. Just letting you know I'm still here but can't get on as often as I'd like! Things aren't going great...not sure what to do anymore as I've tried everything to try and settle L and help his reflux amd colic. He will sleep maybe 2 hours max during the night and then he will grunt and strain and whinge between broken sleep for the rest of the night. During the day...well it's nice to even get him to sleep for 20 minutes.
Also really depressed about my body, speaking of which...
Just want to lose all the baby fat and fit back into my old clothes :wall:
To top off the week, we've had a death in the family which was sort of unexpected. Well he was sick for ages but stable sick if that makes sense...and then he just declined so rapidly and all of a sudden he was tranfered to pallative care and put on morphine and the next day he was gone...
Anyway, hope to pop in again soon. I hope all the bubbas are being good for their mummas! xox
-
Nai- Not only did you lose you lost to Richmond, lol. Sounds like great night out tho. Lol, I don't mind if they play up a little for DF cause I want him to see realistically what we deal with!
AJP- I'm guessing your a bombers girl then? So is my Df, I'm a sains supporter so our issue is the girls! We always agreed one each, I have Ash and already taught her to say 'Go Saints, Bombers crap".
You girls should've joined the footy tipping comp on here, there is a footy chat in the mens section go join in.
We had good night, Em went til 2 before a feed then 6:30 and got up at 8:50 and Ash is still in bed! :o I'm thinking I should go get her up. She woke at 7 crying and went back to sleep!
-
Holly- Sorry to hear about your friend, it is a shock when it suddenly happens quickly like that. Big hugs to you. I wish there was some advice to help you with L. Have you tried a sling in the day? You've prolly tried everything. Maybe having him upright will help him sleep better?
-
Afternoon girls,
Fun stuff first - go Bombers! Another red and black fan here. We were at my parent's house and from about half time my dad had DD on his chest as she was sleeping, he's a Pies supporter so he kept yelling things and I'd be glaring at him saying "Dad, the baby!" but she kept on sleeping... and then with the last 4 minutes we all started yelling, I was screaming and then we remembered DD and we all looked at her and she's still sleeping! Amazing :D
Now the not fun stuff - We had a pretty shocking night last night. Plan was to get DD down at 7pm like we've been trying to do, stay at mum and dad's for a bit then head home, rollover feed and then bed.
All went well - we did bath boob bed, she was down by 7pm and quiet for about 15 mins then started crying. And didn't stop until 1am.
Every time we tried to put her down she would scream, with real tears. We tried rocking, holding, cuddling, everything. She'd calm down if someone was holding her, then as soon as we tried to put her down it'd start again. Even the car ride home didn't help.
In the end I stood holding her and rocking, patting and singing lullabyes. It was about 1.15am when I successfully got her down without waking. And then she woke at 4am, fed and back to sleep, then woke at 6am, I told DH she shouldn't need a feed but she had wet thru... so we're changing bedding and nappies, I fed her again and back to sleep. Then she woke again at 7.15 so in desperation we brought her into bed with us, she slept for a bit then woke at 8, more feeding, then DH took her out so I could rest. She wet right through again (:o ) so more changing clothes and bedding and then had a sleep at about 10.
I don't know what to do. Surely a growth spurt wouldn't last this long and surely the immunisations would have settled by now? Sigh, I don't know. What do I do? Do we just keep going??
Sorry for lack of personals, I am too tired to focus.

OP - It sounds like she is having an unsettled period in the evening and feeding every 2-3 hours overnight? Is that about right? That sounds a lot like J. Not sure it's growth spurt behaviour but just maybe normal baby behaviour? I know Isabel prolly had a different routine earlier on but they change it up all the time! So going down at 7pm is not really suiting her anymore, much as you'd like her to! You've probably read this as well but babies can have 1-2 unsettled periods a day, 1-2 unsettled days a week and one unsettled week a month :o I've also been told that when they're unsettled (and not hungry or anything else - so crying without obvious cause), it's their way of seeking interaction with you and the world.
I rang the ABA yesterday about J and was told that it can take 12 weeks for babies to settle into a feeding routine :o (not the 6 you read about!). What we have tried here recently - last few days - is after the last feed of the night (which is usually between 10-11pm) we top him up with 40-60ml EBM as well. You run the risk of them wetting through, but he has been sleeping until 4-5am and going down straight away. The other thing we do is put him in the sling between the evening feeds whenever he starts to look unsettled or won't go down in his basinette. He doesn't always sleep as well as he does in his basinette (I don't think) but he is settled and dozing at least and DP and I can hold a conversation and get dinner organised.
Look after yourself darl! Try to sleep during the day when she does and rest as much as you can. I find my afternoon nana naps are crucial! They really shorten my days which I don't like but I can't function without them.
Sorry for lack of personals for everyone else - J is waking for a feed but Hi!! Hope you're all having good weekends - bloody freezing here! Will try to BBL for more personals.
