woohooooo ali!!!!! good work!!
Ali that's fantastic, well done!!!!!
Go Ash!
LOL at the BBs being engorged this morning though - of course there had to be a downside. I just hope they didn't wake you up!
No sleeping thru here yet :( Still waking waking waking... last night she slept 11pm til about 3am, then woke every half an hour or so calling out... Put off feeding her til 5.30am... Sigh...
She's back down for a sleep now, better go have some brekkie etc...
op millie woke twice last night which is very unlike her! toothpick needed today!!
shell yukko AF :( i swore i o'd last week :o will see what next week brings!
miss emily is sounding like a little madam
Jols twice would be delightful........... :p
Ali thats fantastic!
We had a crappola night. Woke 11:45pm for feed then wanting a bottle again at 4. Plus all the crying inbetween, she just wakes really upset! I don't want to get in the habit of feeds at night cause she mucks around in the day and won't finish her bottles then expects all nigfht, no way. Might give more solids she seems to be finishing off what I give her now and she can still look around and watch everything while I feed. i don't mind giving 1 bottle at night which is what she generally has but not increasing it!
im with you shell once is ok twice is stretching the friendship
op how many times are you feeding?
Miss E is being a velcro baby today. Just been so unsettled the past week or so.
Yay Ali -
I agree once a night is OK, but more than that....... I am like OP I generally ignore unless she is upset.
During the day I seem to be feeding every 2 - 3 hours atm. She just seems to need it. Started her on solids. She is not a fan. Get about 2 spoons worth (not even a full spoon) She will maybe eat a tiny bit if doing BLS, but not much better...
We're trying to do rollover feed at 10.30pm, then push the next feed out as long as possible... the MCHN said she really shouldn't be feeding overnight anymore, she shouldn't need to, esp with all the solids she chews thru!
Please don't all jump on the MCHN, she is lovely and only offered that advice because I asked for her opinion.
Anyway we're now trying not to feed overnight... and it seems right, that she doesn't NEED to feed, because although she wakes and calls out, she goes back to sleep. It is just that she wakes some time between 2am and 4am, then calls out every 10-30mins, until I feed her around 5 or 6am.
I say "calls out" because she doesn't really cry and she goes back to sleep in between yells... but it is loud enough to wake me up! She just sort of yells a few times, wriggles around and zonks out again.
:dunno:
Yay!!! Ali- that's fantastic!!!!
Lewis woke twice last night!! 11pm amd 4am I was happy with that but maybe I need to reconsider, mix in with that I had DD up at 3am too!!!
Oh well, never count the hours sleep, that's my motto, then I won't feel tired!!!
Yay Ali!!! It didn't take as long as you thought :D I usually wake up because of my engorged bb's before Miss J wakes for a feed.
Shell - how many bottles do your give Emily during the day with her solids? Will she drink more? I try to give Miss J 3 full solids meals plus at least 5 BF's a day and that seems to keep her going through the night.
OP - I ignore Miss J if she is "chatting" and wriggling around in her cot at night. I only get up and feed if she really cries. It is hard because she does wake me (and she is right next to me in the bedroom) but I just stick my head up, check she is ok and then try to go back to sleep (like DP does ;) )
Miss J slept from 6.30pm to 5am had a feed and then slept until 8.30!! Unheard of! But then she did have her injections yesterday so that could be why.
Sorry I missed a few personals there (selfish me!)!
Meg - Isabel is fairly grumpy at the moment too, she's not happy playing on the floor anymore and just wants cuddles during the day. And funnily enough she's feeding 2-3hrly as well, even with lots of solids!
Shell - Sorry about the crapola night last night! I keep pushing the solids in until she turns her head away, no idea how much she consumes in volume but if I make up some farex and she wolfs it down, I'll go make up some more, see if she wants a bit more.
Pinny, that sounds pretty good to me!!
Nai, maybe I should try and add in another BF in the arvo... but actually yesterday she had 3 BFs between 2pm and 6pm... hmm. I do try and ignore her "yells" and only get up when she has escalated but it is frustrating being woken so frequently. DH sleeps through it and then comments how good she was last night
OP - Get some earplugs. I guarentee if she is upset you will still her her with the earplugs in.
Yay Ali :leap: Fantastic news darl! You must feel like a new woman!
Shell - Em sounds like a kid who knows what she wants! lol.
Meg - Hope E settles for you soon hun. Jacob was like that last week. I hope you're feeling better soon too.
Nai - 8kg is great! You've re-inspired me to keep going. I stopped ww a while ago as I found counting the points got annoying so now I'm sort of following CSIRO menus. I've lost 6kg since I started trying back at the end of May but I need to kick start again as I haven't lost anything for over a month now. Want to lose another 10kg :o
Hi to everyone else.
Has anyone heard from Tarkine lately? Last she posted there was a fair bit going on with her DH. Hope you're doing ok Tarkine.
AFM - No AF here yet thank god. Not looking forward to that at all! Jacob had a good night last night - fed at 8pm, didn't go to sleep until 9:30pm, fed at 2am and then at 7am and got up at 9am. He's hardly slept since though but is much less grumbly which is good.
Miss E is playing up still, not much sleep today, asleep now but took 30mins of screaming first. Seriously no more kids for me please! Not unless I am guarenteed a great sleeper.
Kaz- 6kg loss is fantstic, even tho you've not lost more for last month as long as you don't put it back on, yeah I could imagine counting points be a pain.
OP- All those wakings tho is so tiring, Em does that will wake up crying, settles fairly quickly (generally) but then I am wide awake constantly. And Df was the same when Ash was a bub used to say how good she was and I'd point out I'd been up x amount of times!
Nai- She has 2 small solids at the moment and 6 bottles within a 24hr period. So getting plenty. Doesn't often finish her bottles in the day tho, too busy looking around!
Meg- E was like that when we started, just last few days really improved, found too she prefered vegies over fruit. I guess just give it time.
Yeah where is Tarkine? I hope all is ok.
Hopefully by a months time all these babies are alot more settled.
Oh I was quite annoyed at the shops yesterday, everyone was saying how cute Em was, thats fine then this lady says, "oh, 2 girls, are you dissapointed?" Of course not I said so she asked if Df was. Just annoys me those sort of questions, why would you ask someone that. I know sometimes ppl are bit dissapointed or hoping for one sex more than another but you don't go ask that to someone.
Shell- How annoying I think that is soooo rude!! Society puts such a big deal on genders, it annoys me so much, the amount of people that have said to me oh one of each you must be happy, my reply is I would of been happy with either sex.... we wanted a baby not a particular sex... Try not to let ppl like that get to you...
Kaz- Well done on the weight loss!!! Reminds me I need to weigh myself, think i wouls have 5 more kilos to loose... want to lose another dress size and tone up....
We started solids today!!! L seemed to like them, just rice cereal to begin with, only a small amount but seemed to tolerate them well.
pinny we've started too! avocado with EBM is on the menu for a few days then we'll try pumpkin! still pulling faces but opening mouth
BBL...
