Babies born February 16th-28th 2009 #8

Thanks girls :grouphug: She has gone down well tonight. We will see what the night brings. She has really taken to her solids the last 2 days. She is having pumpkin & apple mixed together and then she munches on some banana making a big mess but she loves having control of it.

Heaven- I am wondering if the solids is helping the sleeping through. :dunno: I also boiled some water and have it in a bottle as my mum and the mchn said that by offering it to her in the night instead of milk she will soon realise its not worth waking up for. Havent had to use it yet but its good to know we have another back up. How is DD doing on her BLS?
Jols- DD loves loves loves avo! Like her mum and dad! Think I will have to try and buy that book about the avocado baby. Does anyone remember that?
Kaz- that is a great weight loss. My problem is consistency so I am hoping to stay on the band wagon. How was J today? :hug: any better. These little ones sure know how to throw us curve balls hey!
Pinny- DId you get some photos of L having his first solids. THe faces are so funny!
Shell- That is quite rude. I wonder if these people actually have children? Maybe when I was a young teenager I might have thought I would love a boy and then a girl but really in the whole scheme of things, all you want is healthy babies, doesnt matter what gender. I have AF back for afew months even though I have been BF constantly through the night since day dot! Not fair. I have to say that I could never feel any pain around ovulation but now I definitely do!
OP- The engorgement did wake me up, DP said it was like I had a boob job overnight but I didnt leak thank goodness. Actually thinking about it, mine havent leaked in months. Gotta be a good thing. :)
Nai- that is excellent about Miss J's sleep!!!! And how brave she was for injections! Are they over their conjunctivitis?
Pinny- I dont count hours sleep either. All I know is last night was the best night sleep in 6 months!! Hope you have a better night tonight :hug:
Megie- How are you feeling :hug: I had a quick read of your other thread. SOunds like some immature people trying to stir the pot. :hug: DOnt be down on yourself. You ahve done nothing wrong and I dont think your DS has either. He is just being a normal 3 yr old.

Hey girls - quick post, just have to share. PIL arrived about an hour ago - MIL was holding Jacob, and had been wandering around and talking. She sat down for a bit. Anyway he did a massive poo, it came all out the back of his nappy (and he was in a sposie!) went all over her jeans and onto the floor under her chair :rofl: Amazingly, NONE of the poo got on his own clothes - WTF?? It was like his own personal way of welcoming Grandma to the house.

Shell - That is too rude. Tells you a lot about the person asking the question I reckon. Such a dumb thing to ask, esp of a stranger.

Everyone's on solids!! Yay!! Reckon it'll be like giving birth tho, Jacob will prolly be lucky last again :p

Ali- Thanks for the support re sleep, L went down at 8pm quite well, lets hope we have a good night, but I did get a Nanna nap this afternoon as DH was home....was sooooo nice bedroom all to myself, no one tcuddling me or needing a cuddle just me and the bed!!!! I was in heaven!!

Hello everyone!
Haven't had time to post as my poor little girl has been sick for the first time!! Stupid DH gave us both a cold!! It wasn't too bad thank God but one night she was up all night!! Well, we were. She would sleep in our arms but every time we put her down she wouldn't be able to breath through her nose and wake up. So sad :( But she's definately on the mend now. And omg last night a miracle happened!!!!! She self-settled during the night for the first time EVER!!!!!! I think she might have actually done it twice!! The first time I heard her wake up and she cried and then stopped and I just said 'shh' and I could hear her moving around but then silence and I fell back asleep. The second time she had had a feed and was lying in bed next to me rolling around and escaping from her wrap and kicking and whatever else then all of a sudden she just stopped moving and started snoring!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!!!!!!!!! Wish she would keep it up!! She woke up a lot though :( She was probably just buggered.

Sounds like we have a lot of unsettled babies in here atm!!

meg- DD doesn't eat much either, plays alot. Last night DH was having mashed potato for dinner so I gave her some to try and she gagged and coughed and spluttered worse than with the finger foods! Weird. So I guess we're sticking with the BLS even though she doesn't eat much. Wish she would eat more and sleep longer though! LOL. Oh how cute, I can't wait til I have nieces and nephews!!
OP- I don't know if DD needs to feed over night but I'm too lazy and it's the fastest way to get her back to sleep. When she's better we're going to try and cut down though.
Pinny- LOL, waking twice a night sounds good to me too, I would be so happy with that hahaha, omg, this is what it has come to. Yay on starting solids!

shell- how rude of that woman!! I'm actually thinking another girl would be good next time! I never had a sister and I want DD to have one and I love this little girl so much how could I not want another?
AJP- DD has only had solids a few times but it's so amazing how quick she is 'getting it'!
Ali- Grace is doing ok on her solids, didn't have any for a couple of days coz she was sick but I gave her some last night. She doesn't eat much though, can't wait til she does and am hoping it might help her sleep too!

Guess what?? Maybe my hard work is paying off as DD slept really well again last night.

She went down at 7pm, woke at 1:30am because the dogs barked and barked as there were people hanging around outside our house being noisy but then went straight back to sleep until 7:30am!

I loaded her up on solids again at 5:30pm and then milk. She is nly having one solids meal a day at the moment and I am giving it at 5:30pm as soon as she wakes up from her last nap.

She will move to 2 meals a day in a weeks time and will have an added snack of puee appple or pear in the arvo just to get her through until I get home from work to feed her.

Heaven- I hope Miss G is feeling better soon :hug: Ash had a snuffly nose last week too. Poor little poppets. I'll PM you my FB details. I think I have almost everyone in our groups FB details that have FB.
Megie- the photos are gorgeous! You forget how tiny they are. We have ha a new bub join our mums and bubs group as she said the women in her group were really clicky and bichy so it is nice seeinga little bubba again.
Jols- Hope you survive the in laws. Mine want to come over tomorrow and I told them that I am busy so they can only stay an hour even though I am not :redface: LOL!
Pinny- Love nana naps here as well! Glad you got to have one on your own. SOunds lush! How did L end up going last night?

AJP - A few people have started calling E Milly, so sounds like she has the same name - Milly Rose!!!

E has to get her vax tomorrow Boo Hoo - Takinbg her to the doctors to get them as J seems to have an ear infection. He has up for 2 hours last night very upset saying his ears were sore. (At my mums house, not hrere - I am picking him up this arvo) I hope he is ok. DH is on night shift tonight, so if he is upset, he will just have to sleep in with me! Might be crowded if I end up with both kids in the bed!

Megie - just added you (at least I hope it's you Hahaha)

Ali- Thanks, I got your PM. The reason I was asking was coz I was wondering if everyone added ppl from BB to FB. I have a few ppl but I'm always scared that someone from BB will say something on my page about BB or something and I'll be sprung. Then I will have no privacy to b!tch about family and friends when they're stupid, pmsl. Well, maybe I will just add you all anyway and hopefully no one says anything coz I want to check out all the photos of your cute bubbas!! LOL. Wow, that's awesome about the sleeping!! DD isn't eating much so solids aren't helping, damn it!! But she ate more this morning, she likes pear apparently!
Meg- DD will be sleeping with me again tonight coz DH is working late!! Hope the little dude is better soon!!

Heaven - I've kind of been the same with FB - worried that BB would get mentioned but it's so tempting to see the pics of the bubbas and show off Jacob. Maybe I should just bite the bullet too?

OP - meant to say before when you mentioned Mr. Men. I've got nearly all of their books so now I'm onto collecting Grug. I loved Grug when I was little and used to steal my brothers to read lol!

Hmm...when the poo happened I just took Jacob and went to his room to change him. Left DP to deal with his mum and the mess on the floor. I did have a little chuckle with Jacob though ;) So far we're surviving. They're here another couple of nights. They are hard work socially but so adore Jacob and spend a lot of time doing their own thing/routines anyway so there's enough down time.

Kaz- Is your profile pic Mr Potato Head? There are quite a few of you when I searched your name. Good to hear you are getting some down time from the inlaws. I would ave been giving J high fives as well after that. WOuld have been so hard not to crack up laughing!
Megie- :hug: it makes it harder when they are sick but even more so when you are by yourself. DP did a 9pm until 9am shift last Sat night ad I had DD sleep with me as I was lonely by myself! Oh and the dogs as well. I felt safer with us all in the same room.

drinking wine again tonight! not too much as we have to be the city at 7.30am tomorrow morning

J is very sick. I am currently in my bed on the laptop with him next to me. He is sweating like crazy, but his temp isn't too bad for the moment. Gave him some panadol and his temp is 37.3. Not great, but not bad either. He keeps waking screaming in terror. He has a GP appt for tomorrow.
I am actually a but teary as I hate seeing them sick. Just a mum thing I think.

Oh and only one of my real lfe friends knows I am on BB, so I never make mention of it on facebook. I don't want to be found on here so I am speak openly.

Megie- Can you pop in a bath with him?? Might help with the sweating :dunno: as it sounds like it is temperature related. Big :hug: to you and little J. I can understand you being teary. :hug:
