Hi just popping in to say hi!
I think a few girls need a hug in here. I really hope the bubba's get on track with their sleeping.
Holly - E really isn't that in to solids. I am lucky to get a teeny tiny bit in to her. She only likes fruit,
Ali - Hows hubby?
Shell - I bet you are all geared up for the weekend. What are you doing on GF day?
Malya - wow! E still hates her tummy, so she won't be crawling any time soon (Just like her bother!)
AJP - You just reminded me - E's vax are now 1 month overdue. I better get into gear and do something about it. Just with everyone being so sick here, I sort of put it off.
Ok - lights out time for me.
-
Hi everyone,
It's been rather quiet in here!
Nai, I'm just coping with the workload! I'm quite behind though :( J must look so cute with 4 teeth! Glad she took to the pool. When it gets warmer I'm going to do the same and if his skin is okay I'll enrol him in lessons!
Malyna, wow at the crawling!!! They are growing up too fast! LOL at shredding the yellkow pages
Shell, woohoo on the sleeps!! Fantastic news! Yeah I think L is too much of a boobie boy. It's just that he was so into solids at the beginning and now doesn't want a bar of anything :dunno: Are you doing swimming lessons with the girls? Anywhere local? All I can think of is waves but it's so chlorinated!!
AJP, yeah I might just offer him so finger food for him to munch on at his leisure. I won't stress too much over it! Glad M went well with her jabs and slept well too!
Megie, L hates being on his tummy too so I don't think he will crawl anytime soon. He can *just* roll from tummy to back and can't sit up yet so I'm hoping he's not going to be mobile in the near future! How is James?
AFM...a boohoo...our baby bonus has run out  I was expecting a payment today but nothing came through so I checked how many payments we've got and we have reached the max. Nevermind, I guess now I have to reassess our budget!
I have a lot of catching up to do with uni work so I might be off the forums for a while. Hope you all have a good week! xox
-
holly ours has finished too!!
with the finger food, millie is eating what we/sophie eat for tea!! she had spag bol the other night, vegies and sausage last night, i have to give the meat in very small pieces for her to pick up and eat otherwise she gags on it, but so far so good, she will only eat off the spoon is she can hold it and do it herself, so i have to hold one arm and she helps with her other hand to shove it in her mouth, i still hold the spoon as well. tonight were having roast chicken and vegies so she'll have the same!
she slept til 5am this morning, themn only napped on and off til 7am, then went back down at 8.30 for a grand total of 20 mins
meg millies vax were late too due to her been sick, hows J and DH going?
-
Thanks girls. :grouphug: I should stay away from the internet when I'm feeling like I was the other day.
Nai - I just got my wonderweek book back from a mate and I think you could be right. He is so much more aware that we can leave him.
Shell - Don't feel bad hun - that's awesome sleeps you're getting and you so deserve it cause you've had a rough trot in the past with Em. Hope it continues for you!
Tarkine - whoohoo on the crawling! Go A!!!
Pinny - Thanks for your thoughts. I hope that you're still seeing improvement. I kind of took your advice last night and instead of feeding J at 5:30 (only 3 hours since last feed) I just sat in his room. He cried and fussed for 10mins but then put himself back to sleep and all I did was re-insert the dummy once!!! Might be onto something so ta.
Ali - been thinking of you and DP heaps darl. Hope the surgery went well. Take care xoxoxo.
AFM - Things have slightly improved since yesterday and last night he went down at 7pm, fed at 10:30pm, 2:30am, I waited him out at 5:30am and he slept til nearly 7:30am. Don't mind feeding him once or twice overnight but any more feels a bit ridiculous. It's also the constant napping and inability to self settle after the first day sleep and being really tired but not sleeping, fighting sleep and then crying for ages that does my head in. Oh well. We've all been there I know. I feel a bit silly that we're still having day sleep issues, like I should have been onto it sooner rather than just waiting for him to improve on his own. I actually went and weighed him yesterday cause I was starting to think he was maybe hungry but he feeds 2 hourly for half the day! I've just called Tresillian actually to get their view on his routine so I have lots of food for thought now!!
On a positive note, he has been rolling heaps in the last couple of days and can purposefully do it now without needing to follow a toy. Just does it on his own when he's sick of being on his tummy.
-
It has been pretty quiet in here but I'm guilty of just not being able to type and just reading the posts
We went to the Melbourne Show yesterday from 9.30 - 3.30 so we were all shattered last night (pics on FB for those who are on). I went to the cry baby session at the movies this morning with playgroup to see Young Victoria. It was really nice then we went out for lunch afterwards.
-
-
I really want to see young Victoria. I didn't think they were running cry baby during school hols.
Fergie produced the movie, and either Beatrice or Euginie are in the movie at some point. Fergie is obsessed with Queen Vic, in fact both her kids are named after Queen Vics daughters

Hi girls just a quick one. Going to have to come back later and re-read everything as life is a bit of a whirlwind at the moment (kind of like the weather in Sydnay today! Wasnt it strange Kaz!).
Thankyou for all thinking of us. :grouphug:
Kaz- the beautiful flowers you sent are on our coffee table and DP and I just love them. Really helps to brighten up the place and our lives. I hope J's sleep has gotten better.
DP still hasnt had the surgery. We go in tomorrow to meet with the surgeon. It is quite extensive surgery so it scares me a little but I think I am in a bit of denial at the moment and DP and ma jsut trying to cope by being busy.
We are thinking of making a formal police report and maybe going to court. Just trying to weigh up a few things at the moment. Cant really say much in the open forums bit as probably need to be careful what I say.
Will let you guys know what the surgeon says tomorrow. Poor DP though, all the cruises on his face have gone a purple/yelloewy colour and look terrible :(
My diet has gone out the window and I am jsut eating anything and everything. I am such an emotional eater! grrr!
Ashlyn is coping quite well. Not having day sleeps at all the last few days but last night she went 7pm until 5:30am without a feed. She woke once but I was tooo tired to get up for her and then she went back to sleep! Happy about that.
Thinking of you all. :grouphug:
-
Ali- I hope the surgery goes well, I can imagine it would be so stressful atm. Good luck if you do press charges, I can understand you can't say much, don't want to ruin your case by chatting about it but they should pay for what they've done, I bet its not the first time either. How is he mentally? I think if something like that happened to me I'd be jumping at everything.
Nai- Your game going to the show, I went last year with my sister and nephew and said never again! Well until the girls are begging me to go.
Kaz- Was trasillian helpful? We had sleep probs with Ash and we went to a sleep clinic in the end when I got to near breaking point! I hope things improve for you.
Holly- Yeah swimming lessons locally, its a really small place in Bentleigh, can PM you the name if you're interested, it looks like a house with a pool building out the back but is a reputable place, they charge $15.50 lesson, not sure on class size Df forgot to ask that. You getting ready for GF day? Can't believe how crap the weather! Few Df mates are going got tickets at $600! And thats cheap.
Meg- we're late too on the vacs, I booked in for next mon thanks to being reminded here! GF day I think we've decided to have people here, was going to be BBQ but not with the weather! You're having J's party that day aren't you? Such crap weather expected. How is J's behaviour going?
Df is home on holidays but think he better at work, lol, he been sanding and painting the sliding door and you'd think he was renovating a whole house the way he acts!
I want to spring clean the entire upstairs cause I don't get chance really to clean and sort up there.
On sad note, have the bassinet on e-bay for sale, no more kids, going to start selling clothing and change table (never use it!).
-
Hi... umm have forgotton what was written on the other page (I have a terrible memory).. what's my name again?
Ali - for what DP has been through. I apologise for being under a rock and not being so aware of what's happening.
Shell - on selling the baby things.
Nai - wow the show.. way to go... I've lived in both Mel and Bris and said I'd go to their shows and never got there..
AFM - Alex is sitting up by himself from being on his tummy, he backs up into teh sitting position. He also stood up on his feet, with his arms stretched out (wheelbarrow style)... I'm so not ready for that.. the crawling is bad enough (or its more like I'll just move everythign until I get what I want). He's got teeth coming through.. cranky clingy whingy baby all day - everything was just too much effort and well he fell over he cried like the whole world was against him!
-
Ali - I too missed what happened to your DH and have only just caught up. I hope he is ok soon.
nai - mum too J to the show on the weekend. he came home with a Batman, spiderman and Superman show bag. I gave mum $20 to buy him something, and my Grandma gave him another $25, so he did alright out of it. That is basically all mum bought as she took her own food. She said everything was really expensive, but it was OK as J mainly liked the animals anyway. He didn't stop talking about how he saw a dog do poo!!! :)
Malyna - they really do grow up so fast.
Shell - Dar I say it, but J has been good all day today. He still doesn't want dinner and we have a small tanty about a bath/shower, and maybe a bit of whinging at bed time, but better than what he was doing. He is still having nightmares though, so having to go in and give him a cuddle.
-
Gee it has been quiet. Did i kill the thread :P :)
-
im here!!
i cant remember what others have said and im too tired to read back!
grand final tomorrow, DH getting drunk, not coming home then i have to go pick hum up sunday and drive 90 more mins to go to a 60th, yay...not
-
We having grand final day here now cause I told Df its my team this year so he can sort out the kids so in end decided to have everyone over here. Sucks the weather, can't put on the BBQ. I'm gonna be so nervous anyways and stressed!
Jols- Lucky you, you can always come here and watch with the girls, just as long as your cheering the saints. How will DH be at a party with a grand final hangover?
Meg- thats great news he is improving. Hopefully just a phase that will pass.
Ali- How is DP doing?
Emily is starting to pull herself forwards now after going backwards for so long. She has caught on now how to do it. Means I can't leave my mobile on the floor now, lol.
ETA- Just saw in the other thread Jols your cheering on Geelong tomor, oh I am so sad about that!
-
meg - what a haul at the show!
AJP -
Shell - hope the day goes well, and there isnt' too much stress
AFM - Just in love with Alex at the moment.. he was smiling and laughing with us tonight.. I'm just a big pile of mushy mummy.
Does anyone want to catch up on facebook? I can remember that AJP is on there..mind you I'm pretty darn hopeless with facebook...
-

Hi girls, been busy here. Am trying to help DS go for one longer sleep of an afternoon instead of 2-3 catnaps. So far it hasn't worked at all but it's early days yet. He is not happy about staying in bed when he's used to getting up but he gets so tired if he is just up and down all afternoon (which he pretty much does every day - sleep 40 mins, up for an hour or a bit more and then back down again). Drives me nuts so I'm going to perservere. He cries a lot, even though I'm in the room, touching him in his cot or holding him etc and then eventually I just put him in the pram and we go for a walk. He cheers right up the minute he realises he's leaving his bedroom :wall: Yesterday I walked for over an hour to get 20mins of sleep from him  It's hard work but I really think he'd be happier overall with a decent arvo sleep. He's had very little sleep today because I was out this morning (had three naps of 30-40mins - last one at 5:15pm) and he went down at 7pm very tired but keeps waking every 40mins. He is resettling himself but he should be into deep sleep and he's not :( On the plus side, we've moved from 8-9 feeds a day to 6 without any apparent dramas.
Shell - Tresillian said that I could book in for their residential program (a bit far to travel for daystay) but I want to try here at home first. They said his feeding and sleeping pattern was 'not normal' for a 6 month old (but what's normal anyway?). I'm giving it until my next CFHN appt which is in early Oct to try and get some improvement. I think if he can start to get a longer arvo nap, then our nights will improve too.
Malyna - I'll pm you!
AJP - Hope your DH pulls up alright on Sunday!
Meg - How has J been the past couple of days? I hope he's still improving for you.
-
AJP- Hope you have a good day tomorrow, you may need to go through Macca's drive through to help DH with the hangover on Sunday:lol: Glad to hear your baracking for the CATS- Luke will be pleased
Sorry shell we will wb goung for Geelong tomorrow...my Dh is a Cats supporter and is slowly converting me to the ways of football..think even know the team song in full now..Scary
Kaz- We too are having sleep issues...Know what it's like..Well done on the feed decrease..I actually don;t count L feeds might start will be interesting to see how many??
Malyna- Glad your a mussy muummy...they are just so cute hey!!!
Meg- Glad J had a good time at the show...and gave you time with Miss E..
Ali- Hope all is ok with DH, been thinking of you
Nai- How r the girls? I bet they slept well after the show!!
Holly- you were right about L ant the routine...his not having a bar if it!!
Hi to everyone else
We have had a big day here today...moved L into his own room well sort of, set up the nursery in the study and moved the study into his so called room.. and moved his cot out of our room..came to the conclusion that maybe we are disturbing him during the night as he sleeps well during the day but not good at night...had to try something as they routine we had thought of isn't going that well, still wants to be feed 3 hourly over night! He is having a bit of trouble settling tonight but getting DH to resettle as he just wants a feed everytime he sees me!!!
Gotta go apparently it's my turn to go into him according to Dh, who is too busy on the the Wii!!!! MEN.........
-
hey girls
i am sorry i have been a bad buddy- migranes again!!! GRRRRR
all good here- ferals on school hols which hasnt made coping with 4 days of really bad migranes easy to cope with. The culprit this time was boof dropping a b/feed during the day as he is eating so much of his food!! Great for him but not for my damm hormones!!!!
I am now considered a chronic migrane sufferer according to the doc and they have put me on beta blockers (low dose) which are fine to still have whilst b/feeding. Unfortunately they take 3 months to kick in and i have only been one them for a month. GREAT! NOT!!
as for boof- he is rolling everywhere and in every direction. DS1 was a big roller so i wouldnt be surprise if boof just rolls everywhere and only crawls for a little time like he did as well. Boof is eating HEAPS- he is refusing mush now and slurps it when i give it to him. All he wants is whatever we are eating- still have to do dairy and egg with him yet but his ezcema is still there so gotta start slow.
Boof slept a total of 35 mins all day today again!!! He is happy enough, just doesnt want to sleep. Still not sleeping through and has been feeding 2-3 time overnite for the past month again- ah well- its a phase!!!
Megs- have you thought of trying some rescue remedy drops for J? I used them with success with my twins over the years.
Ali- so sorry to hear about DH- hope he is recovering well and op goes well- hugs
Kaz- hang in there hun- you are doing an awesome job- do whatever works for you!!!!
Shell- enjoy g/final day at your house tommorow
Malyna- i am on facebook as well- you can prob find me through the others!! WHOOT on A crawling!!
Nai- love your photos on f/b! glad you had fun at the show.
AJP- have fun cheering the cats on tommorow- reckon its gonna be a close one!!
Hugs and hi to everyone else!!
-
AHHHHHH............it's 10.50 and L has been stirring every 10 mins....just won't gp into a really deep sleep...I know it's the room change..he did sleep in there for two sleeps today but he is just not used to it...it's going to be a really long night...
Hi Det, hope your at the tail end of the migrains hang in there. hope the meds kick in soober rather than later, 2 months is a long time
-
Hi All! I drove to Ballarat and back yesterday to drop DD1 at my mum's house for the weekend so we are down to 1 child for the next few days - yay! Miss J was subsequently relcoated to the cot in DD1's room which they will eventually share. We thought it was an opportune time to try her in it in case it goes badly - which it did! She went down ok but woke at 1.45am wanting a feed but then didn't want to go back down and screamed for an hour and a half. DP and I took turns and she finally settled at 3.15am. She woke at 7.30. Hopefully tonight will be better!
Det - I hope the migraines ease up for you. It must be so hard! How is your DH now? That's great about Boof rolling. Miss J is still just sitting.
Jols - I hope your DH doesn't get too messy! It's no fun with 2 kids when you have to look after a male as well ;)
Shell - I hope the Saints bring it home for you and that your DP holds up his end of the bargain!
Malyna - they are so cute at this age aren't they? Miss J just chats away constantly and I can just spend hours cuddling and laughing with her.
Pinny - I hope you eventually got some sleep last night!
Kaz - Hmmm what is "normal" anyway? You've done well so far with cutting the feeds but do whatever you feel comfortable with
Meg - how are you all? I hope evryone is on the mend!!
-
Nai- Hopefully tonight goes better. I should send Ash off one night to have a sleep at her nannys/ grandmas. Don't know how she'll go as she's never been away.
Pinny- How did your night turn out? He settle? Have good GF day, hope your DH not too upset when Geelong lose! Lol.
Det- That sucks, I hope those meds help. If they don't is there anything else they can try for you? I guess not alot you can take when BFing.
Kaz- what is his routine at the moment? And like others said what is normal? My 2 girls are very different from each other so who knows. Ash was a bad sleeper, not interested in food, booby monster but things did settle down, prolly bout 9-10months I think when she started eating better and sleeping better. There is light.
Oh I am so stressed bout today, its so much more than just a game lol. My whole life I've been waiting! Its sad when the team you go for in 112 years of existance has won a total of 1 flag and 26 wooden spoons!
-
I don't know...I read and read...but retain nothing...and I guess it's only going to get worse lol!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! We're still getting our heads around the fact number 2 is on the way ...the second biggest shock of our lives...Anika being the first!
Anyone got an age gap of 15 months between bubs...would love to hear that it's all going to be fine lol!!!
-
Oh wow Ellie!! Congratulations!! My friend has 13 months between her boys and she is doing well with them - they are 3 and 2 now.
-
:hooray: Congrats Ellie :hooray: It will all be fine darl. My DP and his brother have 14 months between them. Not sure about the early years for his mum but they were really close growing up. One of the mums in my mums group IRL is due on her DD's birthday!! She might have two under 12 months if she goes early :o Anika won't really remember a time when it was just her so she should adjust really well.
-
Congratulations Ellie!!
My night was BAD......actually maybe the worst it;s been ever!!! Lewis just wouldn't settle..in the end at 1.30 am I said to DH just bring the cot back into our room I need to sleep and coz L was so over tired he just screamed and wouldn;t even settle in bed with us..Awake again at 5.45am for the day not that he really went to sleep just cat napped on the boob for the f0ur hours he was in bed with us... But on a postive has gone to sleep today really well in the cot in his new room...
DH out at Mates place for grandfinal....I'm cooking...actually quite a peaceful day..
