Great pics Laura!
Well, Oliver and I saw a LC today, and it was really good. She was so nice and supportive, and kept mentioning how healthy and happy Oliver looks :). So, I started feeding Oliver with the nipple shield, then took it off after a little bit - and wouldn't you know it, he actually started feeding without any trouble!!! He'd never done that before! He fed for a couple of minutes without the shield before he spluttered a bit, then realised something wasn't quite right and started getting upset. We settled him and tried again, but it upset him again. The LC said this is good news, cause it means that he can actually attach without the shield... it's more just a matter continuing to try, and me really 'shaping the breast' for him.
The LC made me feel good about everything - cause she said even if the worst case scenario occurs where he can't be weaned from the nipple shield and my supply does drop - I can still feed him using the nipple shield, express and if need be, use formula top ups. I hope it doesn't come to that... but I feel confident that whatever happens, I'm doing the best I can for my baby boy :).
So... we'll see how it goes.
Oh, and in non-baby related news - my DH and I will be homeowners in 30 days! Everything has been approved and settlement is 27th May! Woot!!!
I hope everyone is doing well :).
Woops, double post
Sterla - congrats on becoming a home owner! 2 days before my bday too ;) hehe
That's wonderful you are getting the help of an LC! They are so helpful. I would have been so lost if I hadn't hired mine. I now have a 2nd one helping us with a few small issues we still have with b.feeding ... we now and then top up DD with formula but only if i don't have enough EBM expressed ready to go. And thank you, we are very much in love with our little girl! Today she won't sleep tho so not the best day! Your little man is gorgeous! Beautiful big eyes! :D
Baby blip - you got AF back already? poor bugger! Not sure about AF affecting your milk, could you ask ABA? They would know.
:hello: everyone else!!!
Hey Girls!
How was everyone's weekend? Ours was good, had a day out sat took Winter to southbank and met up with one of my girlfriends, then sat arvo we went and DP got Bubs name tattoo'd on his ribs... its kind of nice as my best friend tatto's him- and she is Winters godmother! So it was a family affair :)
Sterla- yeah it was our 2nd go at DTD first time was urgh! My tip- lube! and not just a bit of saliva or anything lol sorry TMI :) Ah the old "scream my head off when mum leaves the room" trick! Poor Oliver- and your DP.. and you! Im sure you have never dried yourself quicker! I've been known to abandon drying myself and just latch Winter on whilst still dripping to calm her... I started going to yoga every wed night about 6 weeks ago to just to have a bit of me time and there hasn't been a week yet where I dont get in the car and she's SCREAMING.. and I feel sooo bad every time. Two weeks ago we were driving there and Winter started screaming and I made DP turn around homeward bound... I just couldnt bear to leave her. As soon as we pulled in the driveway she was sleeping-and slept for the next 2 hrs so I totally could have gone! I dont really know where Im going with this except that I know what its like when only you can calm bub at certain times...
Blip- Hahaha i love that little PMS icon- so appropriate! I think I read in another thread that AF does affect your milk flavour but I guess everyone is different...Oh how bad are wisdom teeth? Mine came through when i was 16 and I remeber the whole side of my face aching, so painful!!!
DP and I have discussed having more kids, this is going to sound crazy but I was already saying I wanted more when we were in the birth suite after Winter's birth! We already have names... yes I am insane, its true. I think we want 3 more, but we'll have one more then see how we feel and we have decided to get UTD probably when Winter is around one, but in saying that she is already almost 3 months and knowing how quick that has gone, Im so not ready to be pregnant again...I was horribly sick from 6-12 weeks too so I dont know how Im going to deal with that as well as looking after a toddler...
Antheia- Good to hear Orson is better, what are you working on??!! :)
Raver and Renstar- Hello!
So I uploaded photos and then went to view them but it said I didnt have an album??? Im not sure what the go is...
The most random thing happened on sat walking back to the car at southbank there was a couple walking toward us and I recognised the man but wasnt sure where from and then they stopped and it clicked- they went to the same antenatal class! (We did our class in one day instead of weekly so didnt really get to know anyone) We had a bit of a chat but there was an akward moment as they didnt have a baby with them so I was unsure iykwim? Turns out it was their first day out without bubs(born feb 10th if i remember correctly) so random! I know this sounds dumb but I was kind of irked as I hate the question "how does she sleep?" Its kind of like if you dont say "oh she sleeps through" its never good enough... maybe Im being paranoid??
Oh and today was the day Ive been planning for the last week- getting Winter into her cot. Its so not happening! I got some different shaped dummies as the ones we were given she spits out, and she pretty much feeds to sleep 95% of the time so I figured she would take these ones and I would be on easy street.... I fed her last night and she was aaaalmost asleep and dropped off then went to suckle so I popped the dummy in her mouth and BING wide awake! She then proceeded to play and CHEW on it untill she had drool from her shoulders to past her nipples and we had to change her! Then I tried giving her it again later on and she just smiled at me everytime I tried to put it in her mouth! "no Winter its sleepy time, not party time!!"
So anyway the co-sleeping saga continues and I am forever destined to be a human dummy.
Hope you all are having a great monday :)
Im too slow a typist!
So good to hear about your day with the LC Sterla! You must be getting so excited about your new place, yippee :)
Can't say what im working on just yet, its a surprise! But you'll all know soon enough :D
DH and I DTD for the first time last night. It was not planned in anyway and the only contraception i have is breastfeeding! Ah-Oh! I'm a bit scared incase something has happened!
Uh-Oh!!!! Naughty Mummy! ;) Cant wait to hear whats in the works!
ello my pritties!
Rainbow- the pics are cute!
Sterla- Woo for the LC. they're fantasic. im glad that things are on the up and up! sometimes all we need is a smileing face and posativeity! WOO for owning a house in 30days! bet your getting excited!
Ren- my A/F lasted two days. wtf? my body has gone MAD. i mean it. MAAAAAAAAAAAD lol
jords- haha i told DH an hour and a half after darren was born i'd do it all over again. my midwife told me "your not ment to say that yet" haha. we've got a girls name picked out but we're still trying to nut out a boys name, i love older one DH likes more modren ones (darren is an older name...but it sutes darren cus when he's upset he looks like an old man!) with the dummy thing jords, which ones are you useing? i use "happy baby" you can get 'em from safeways (woolies) or coles. they seem to stay in really well (darrens a chomper) and they're cheap too (we go though about 3 a fortnight!) as for putting winter in a cot...have you tiried putting her in but leaving your arms around her then slowly taking them away? or how about nesting? roll up a bunny rug and make it a half cercle, put another bunny rug over the top. when winter goes down she'll still feel something against her sides, KWIM?
Anthiea- OOOO i wanna know! i wanna know nooooooooow :p as for DTD, i know that as a grenral rule as long as you are still doing anight b/f ovulation shouldnt be happening...but thats a guess...
AFM: i dyed my hair *again* i didnt like the dark brown. so its now dark red! much more 'me' LOL. darrens been semi good today. he had a 'wiching hour' between 4pm and 7pm. but is alseep now hopefully untill 10! then we'll see how he goes tonight. he's been really good in his cot. he likes it. tomorrow i go and get the pap resualts wednesday is MG then thursday is LC friday is the dietition for daz. busy week for me and daz and thursday im also hopeing to cook dinner for MIL&FIL too! i better be off any whoo...DH is home :D
lol baby_blip! Hmmm *thinking* *thinking* should i tell?? Nah!!! lol!
b-b-b-but i wanna know noooooooooow anthiea
 !
Sorry girls im doing a rather selfish post... again
We just got home from the hospital, Bella gave us quite a scare tonight.
She had 2 fits.. one after the other.
She was just laying on the floor kicking and moving as she usually does, then all off a sudden she looked at me her arms shot straight out beside her and she went stiff and started shaking, her eyes rolled into the back of her head, she stopped breathing and started to turn blueish.... it only lasted about 10 sec then she just came to and started screaming....
then about 30 sec later she did the exact same thing!!!!!
I have never been so scared in my life.
She is ok at the moment i just have to keep an eye on her.
OMG! Poor Bella and poor mummy! I hope she is ok now. Do they know why it happened? How scary.
Oh Laura, how unimaginably scary!!! Poor Bella and poor you!!!! Big, big . I hope she is okay.
:o Poor bella and poor muma 'bow! i hope your both ok :comfort:
Morning girls,
How is everyone?
Raver- OMG! That is soooo awful! You have definately had some scary moments these last couple of weeks... Is Bella OK and do you know what caused the fits? Poor Baby! Oh jeez you must have been terrified :(
Blip- We have tried avent and now NUK dummies, I really didnt want to use them at all but she is waking up and wanting to suckle on me so I hope I can find one she will take... I have no problem getting her to sleep with rocking but then as soon as you put her down she wakes up, Ive tried just holding her or patting her to sleep but she wants to suckle so Im not sure if blankies would work, but I should give it a go...
How is Oliver and Mummy??
Antheia- Spill the beans! we wont tell, promise ;)
Ah the turd is awake...

I dont want to tell on here because the whole world can see it! However if you REALLY want to know PM me and i will tell. :)
Hi ladies, quick update from Sammy and I. we are taking her to the Dr as she has been spewing after almost every feed for the last 5 days and has only put on 80gr in a week :( The LC wasn't worried but said if the vomitting increased ( which it did) to take her to the Dr just in case. So appointment at 12:15pm today, will let you know how we go.
That's no good Moose. I hope Sammy is okay .
Gee our group has some rotten luck! :(
Hey Girls,
Once again stoopid me didnt copy my reply and my lap top ate it
I really hope Sammy is ok!
Long story but Ive had a crappy night, I think Im drying up a bit... Ive had a couple of little cries, I feel AWFUL. Spoke to Mum (bless her) and she suggested maybe topping Winter up at night with formula... argh I feel so bad.
moose: how did the docs appt go? what did they say? could it be reflux? or just her taking more but her belly not being ready for it?
'bow: how are you? hows bella?
Jords: *hugs* i hope you find the strenth to keep going. if your in doubt maybe get incontact with an LC eather private or though the hospital? they'll help.
AFM: had MG today. was interesting. had a lady from the libary come and talk to us. appaintly i we read to our bubs three times aday they'll be uber smart. some little girl she knows at 18months can count to 20! i think i put her out when she was talking to that 24/yo (who tried to give her bubs 250mls of formular) about settling becuase the 24y/o was whingeing about how her hubby is always picking their son up and she lets him 'self settle'...at 5 weeks old! i'd had enough and said "babys are for cuddleing and loving. they need it more then we understand, untill last week darren was co-sleeoping with me. now he sleeps in his cot for one night sleep. i still get things done with a sling. and from what i've read this helps them with deleloping a better awearnss of self as well as better comunitcation skills as they're right there in the converation!" whoops, neather where happy i piped up! other then that it was good. tomorrow i see the LC about my supply. and talking to her about possably trying darren back on the boob, as i think the speech therpist did a fine job in scareing me about trying myself. if i cant then i want to nut out a plan that i can do on my own (as DH works 5 to 6 days a week for 8hrs...) and on friday i see the dietission (sp?) about daz so i know how much he needs (or i could just ignore that and follow his lead! haha) and i think i'm going to tell them about the pead. ward as its just wrong what they did.
I better go and express...daz should be up soon (he was up from 11am untill 5:45pm!)
Thanks girls, We had a stay in hospital last night as bella took another turn on me yesterday :(
i will be back tomorrow to do proper personals!
moose- sending you lots of hugs i hope little sammy is ok!
 Thinking of you Laura and Bella
Hi Ladies,
Sorry for not posting yesterday but I forgot I had MG and with Dh home, it was bed time before I knew it! Went to the Dr with Sam and its a new Dr we are seeing and she was awesome. She thoroughly inspected every bits and pieces of Sam and has found nothing wrong so far but she said to keep an eye on her andbring her back next week if she was still unwell but told me that if I felt I wanted to bring her in every day if I was in doubt to do so. It was good news to hear. Sammy was smiling at her and everything. So it appears that my instincts were right and its a little tummy bug. She seemed better yesterday and even better this morning. The spewing has slowed a LOT and she is back to sleeping her usual patterns ( thank god for that!) and has actually been sleeping from 7pm til 5am for the last 2 nights!! Hope the trend last. So the last thing we need to get sorted is her weight gain but am fairly confident that with less spew we will be back on track next week.
Other than that, MG was good, it was our last one with an EC nurse and we all shared what we found had been the most positive and the biggest challenge for each one of us. One mum broke down as her little bubba is very difficult to settle and she felt like a failure because of it and it was amazing the support everyone gave her. I think it has brought the whole group together to share a few "soul baring" moments. My biggest challenge I have been founding is getting back into the intimacy and romance with DH and we had a big chat about it last night. I realised that its almost like I forgot how to be romantic and I have a pretty negative image of my body at the moment. I think Dh kinda understands a bit more where I am coming from and I feel the better for it! Poor DH, we had a couple glasses of wine and he most likely thought he's get lucky, instead he ended up having me in tears! lol He has taken Sammy out for 2-3 hours as he is preparing a surprise for me and 'needed" Sammy for it..so I was told to relax and take it easy. I feel so lucky to have such a good hubby. Enough about me anyway!
Rainbow: OMG, I really hope little Bella is better and been thinking about you a lot. Hope you have some good news for us and that Bella is a healthy little vegemite
Antheia: I am dying to know but I think its great to have secrets sometimes....so will wait til you're ready to show/tell the world. Good luck with your project hun!
Jords: I'm so sorry you feel awful and totally understand why as I felt the same. It's hard to imagine that YOU as their only source of food is not producing enough and it just doesn't feel right but Before you start with formula, you should really see an LC. They are really nice and will support you in making the right decisions for Winter. At this time, our boobs start to settle and they may not appear to have a lot of milk. What my LC has me doing is feeding Sam as per usual and express right after I feed her 3 times a day ( alternate feeds) for 5-5-5-5 ( 5 on the right 5 on the left, then back to right for 5 and finish on left for 5) If you can't do that long or your boobs get sore, just do 5 and 5 and make sure that one of them is around dinner time. What I do is I express first thing in the morning as my boobs are full. then one at lunchtime and one around 5 ish. You may not get a lot or maybe none at all but it will help with nipple stimulation and produce more milk...but that was for me, just contact your EC centre and wishing you good luck...and remember you are doing a GREAT job and IF you have to resort to giving formula, it's ok too, don't beat yourself up about it. On a higher and happier note, yes...Mortimer, Glumpty Glumpty is indeed Marvin in our household and goes everywhere Sammy goes. She's also got the Lamaze snake as well and like them a lot.
Sterla: How is the gorgeous Oli and mummy doing? Have you gone back to your pram walking yet? Hows the packing of your house going...you must be getting so excited but packing with a 3 month old bubba in the house just can't be that easy! Make sure you get help :)
Blip: You just love to stir the pot at MG don't you? LOL Just keep in mind that sometimes you may hurt that mum's feelings though, everyone has got their own way and make their own choices on how to raise their babies even though you may not agree on the method, she will want to share her experience with the group. I'm sure you'll agree that our feelings and emotional state, especially as new mums, are quite fragile and just make sure it doesn't come as a criticism as opposed to a discussion. I am not saying this to lecture you, as I truly admire how you stand up for what you believe in and how you seem to have researched your decisions, but just to maybe let you know of how it may be received on her end. Hope I haven't overstepped my boundaries by saying this. What did the speech therapist say? I am not sure I got what you meant re: him scaring you...Did I miss a post maybe? Am also really curious to see what the nutritionist has to say..how could they know what the bubs need? Let us know how you go.
Question for all...do all your bubs wear jammies to bed?? Sam's been only wearing singlet and nappy but as the weather is getting cooler, am thinking about putting her in jammies, but not sure of what to dress her in so she doesn't overheat but isn't cold either...suggestions?!?!
Have a good day everyone :)
Mxx
WOW sorry for the long post!
Moose, i dress Orson in a long sleeve/legs suit with a singlet underneath and sometimes socks if its really cold. Usually a bonds wonder suit and then i wrap him. Because theyre still so young its best to keep them snuggley instead of getting cold because they still have troble keeping their temp under control.
Morning Girls,
This will probably be breif as Im one handed but we'll see how i go!
Blip- Can I ask how you made the transfer from co-sleeping tp the cot? How did you go with the LC? Good I hope!
Raver- Good to see you back, hope little Bella is ok
Sterla-Hello ;)
Moose- Im so glad to hear you found a good Dr- it makes all the difference. Especially when your unsure about something its great to hear it when they say they dont care if you visit everyday... Im happy to hear Sammy is better today and sleeping good(did I say good? I meant unbelievably brilliantly!)
Its great you have an understanding DH- and communicating makes all the difference I reckon... I think it must be hard for them sometimes when they dont know whats going on in our heads,so its always good to let them know... as for body image what can I say except I reckon we all know how you feel! I told DP that I didnt want him to see me shower after Winter was born I was so self concious. The good thing to know is that they will love you no matter how you look(still though!) bah is any of this making sense? Im thinking so much but its hard to get it out, especially with one hand!
I cant wait to hear what your suprise is! What a lucky Mummy!
As for jammies... this might sound weird but I dont have 'pj's' as such, just put her to bed in what she is wearing... so generally a long legged/armed bonds easy suit(so not easy to change nappy at 3 am!!) or any other long jump suit... in summer it was just a singlet(gets hot up here)(brisbane).
Antheia-Hope your well :)
As for us.... Poor darlin' Winter has a cold! Argh! I dont know here it has come from whether it was still in her system from when we were sick the other week? She was very stuffy all night and sneezed before and the BIGGEST chunk of snot came out,it was awful. Better out than in though I guess! We gave her a bit of baby panadol(DP was home for lunch) and now she is completely zonked out in my arms...
Which brings me to the next chapter- the cot. Last night was the first night she was going into the cot,ha! It took 4(maybe 5?) goes to get her to stay asleep in it after putting her down, then finally jackpot! Sleeping!! Half an hour later she was awake(by this stage it was around midnight) so I figured Id feed her in bed. "oh good morning Winter" Yes, Mummy fell asleep. Woops :) We ended up having an amazing sleep-in till 11.15! sheesh. Now she's sick all I want to do is cuddle her(excuses excuses)
As for drying up I posted a thread and got a bunch of great advice so I didnt get formula and I feel so much better! I dont know if I was just being paranoid?
Hope everone is having a good day :)
thanks Jords and Antheia, we live in a unit and the temp is about 24C...so I think a growsuit would be too warm but will most likely put her in a cotton long sleeve jumpsuit with feet, that should do it.
I forgot to mention I cut Sammy's finger doing her nails yesterday...talk about feeling AWFUL...am not looking forward to her cutting and injuring herself, I think it hurt me more than her.
Jords: Sorry Winter is not well, hope she recovers quickly! too funny about the snot...its all very glamourous isn't it!!
okies, Dh back with Sam now, so break is over!
I accidently cut Orson's toe while cutting his nails. I still feel aweful about it and it happened about a month ago now. So i know how you feel Moose.
Moose: I'm so glad Sammy is okay and that you found a doctor you like. I'm not overly impressed with the few I've seen since Oliver was born. I'm sure Sammy's weight gain will be fine now that the spewing is under control.
I'm glad your MG is good. How brave of that mum to be so honest - more of it I say! That's an interesting discussion actually - what we've found the hardest transitioning into motherhood. For me... I think I struggle admitting that I don't enjoy every second of being a mummy. I love Oliver to bits and there are so, so many wonderful moments... but then there are times when I am 'going through the motions', and I then feel awful because my heart isn't 100% in it. The other thing I struggle with is that all my friends IRL don't have kids and we now lead very different lives. It's quite isolating. There... honest enough for you ;).
Oh, and I dress Oliver in a growsuit for bed. It gets cold over night here in Tassie (we've already had a frost!), so I need to make sure Oliver is pretty warm. We need to have a heater on in our room too, just to take the chill out of the air.
Jords: Aww, poor Winter. I hope she gets over her cold soon. I'm sooo dreading Oliver getting his first cold. That must have been awful thinking that your supply was drying up, but I'm sure it wasn't. I've heard that it's very, very rare for a mother not to be able to make enough milk for their bub - it's usually something else going on, like a growth spurt or, maybe in Winter's case, being sick. I hope you got all the answers and advice you needed.
Lol about the snot!!!
Blip: How did you go with the LC? Any luck getting Daz to latch onto the boob? You sound like you have quite a busy week going on with all these different visits! Hope you and Daz are well :).
Antheia: How are you and Orson going? Hope you're okay after yesterday and that Orson is feeding better today .
Laura: I hope your little Bella is okay . Thinking of you.
AFM: I haven't been doing a great deal. Have had a couple of 'flat' days actually where I just don't feel my usual self. Oliver has been fine and happy - a real chatterbox actually! He seems to have found his voice - he's been talking my ears off for the past couple of days, lol! I didn't end up going back to the pramwalking group this week, but might again next week. I think it's pretty well come and go as you please, so I'll do it on the days I have the time (and can be bothered, lol).
Haven't started any packing or anything yet, but we're looking at moving early to mid June. First we've got to look at paint and carpet!\
Oliver has woken up, and he's hungry - so better go!
Woops (again). Silly double post .
Im back for my arvo check-in(get a life jords!!) :)
Just had the most fun hour and half, trying to get Winter to go down for sleep whilst still awake. Argh. Ended up calling the local midwife clinic and we are booked in for next wed for a sleep clinic. She sounded a bit narky when I said I hadnt been there before(woops). By my 8th attempt at putting her down after settling her she would start to cry before her head even touched the cot mattress :(
That is so cute about little Oliver talking heaps! Winter dosn't chat much but when she does its gorgeous! She does love talking to our bedroom curtains though..??!!
As for hardest transition...? I think not working full-time and having the social interaction has been the hardest thing for me to adapt to... Im in your boat Sterla- Im the first of my friends to have a baby(apart from one who I dont see often) so I find it hard as everyone works full time, so during the week I dont really have anyone to catch up with... I would like to find a mothers group but at the same timeI dont know.. its hard to make really good friends iykwim?
I think thats one thing I really love about our group here- there is no first impressions really to go on so its more honest and friendly, if that makes sense?
I ended up "giving in" and feeding Winter to sleep on our bed, poor little thing...
Jords: Try not to worry too much about Winter not settling to sleep on her own yet. I've heard of plenty of other mummies on here who fed to sleep or rocked to sleep for many, many months, and their bubs grew out of it eventually. It's probably more of an issue if it bothers you, than of Winter forming any 'bad habits'.
I know what you mean about wanting to meet new mums, but not... I am pretty shy when I meet new people for the first time, so BB has been a godsend there - I don't have to worry about being shy or making a first impression :). Plus, I tend to babble when I'm nervous - when I'm writing I can filter out the babbling (to a point, lol).
Oh, it's so funny with Oliver talking. He had been a bit here and there for a while now - but in the last couple of days he has turned into the biggest chatterbox! Like, seriously, for half an hour or more at a time he'll just lie there talking - to a person, or even just to himself :). It's so cute, and it looks like he has so much to say! The faces he pulls while he's talking are priceless!
hey ladies!
'bow: aww im thinking of you honey. i hope bella is ok...i hope your ok too :comfort:
Moose: wow interesting day! what supprise did your DH give you? as for sleeping daz is in a warm jump sute with 3 blankets (well a cotton sheet, cot blanket, cot quilt (thin donner my aunt made him!) and then another warm blaket...the only reason for that many layers is its been REALLY cold. im SO glad he slept with me last night...it was the coldest apirl night on record! it was something like 2deg C or something!
you didnt step over the line. i understaand. this women is just...how do i explain? she's kinda in the same boat as i am - her son was a 'supprise' but...she seems detached. and she expects him to sleep though the night, self settle and just...i guess wake, feed, play sleep. thats it. she was annoied that her hubby always picks their son up...like she didnt seem to talk to her son or play with him while he was awake at MG...i know im on the other side of the fence and im very gentel...but i think all bubs need to be held and cuddled...yes they need 'alone' time (daz gets that for 15mins or so a day if i need to do something) but...babys need people...i watched a show that showed they try to get attention and how it affects them even early on if they dont (as in they withdraw and become really depressed and dont assosiate with people) but thats how i do things, if she wants to do it her way she can. the rest of the MG are a little :o with her and he methords too...
jords - i guess i had the co-sleeping to cot sleeping made easyer with our hospital stints. but i've found that day time = cot then night time was in bed with me. and now its late night feed - cot- middle night feed = bed with mum. and its working...slowly...but it may be he's in bed with me at night again after what the LC said to me! aww about winters cold  i hope she gets better. they do say that a mothers touch can be very healing! cuddle away! no halm in cuddleing is there? ;)
Anthiea & Moose- i cut darrens little finger whilest trying to trim his nales...poor mite didnt ever notice! typical daz!
sterla- im with you i've had a few flat days too. sometimes its going though the motions..then daz will do something and im ok for a while KWIM?
at the LC we tired to attach daz but he was really hungry so it didnt really work...but we're going to work on it! she said a girlfriend of hers had the same kind of issues and by 6months she was fully b/fing - gave me hope! how exciteing looking at carpet & paint. i'll warn you - get a sample of the paint and paint the wall (in a few spots) in the colour you want 'cus sometimes they dont trun out (darrens room was a good examle of that!...it was ment to be a soft yellow but turned into a hi-vis yellow due to the black pigments ...dad thinks it was due to the colour under..dispite the TWO undercotes...)
AFM: went to see the LC today. she's fantasic. she really is. she asked how our stay went in hospital (she admited us..) and i told her and cried. i think it may have been 'cus i was back there again. but she listened. she also told me i was doing good and told me i was going to get there...that the speechie was wrong about the b/f and daz would have more control of the flow with b/fing...cus the only time it dribbles out is with the let down! so i felt better about that. she also gave me a prosription for motilum. she said that its good and it wont make me depressed the other one they use can. she also gave me another nipple sheald to try and help it say on to help darren. i told my LC about the stay in hospital, about the head of nurseing and how she changed things with out talking to myself or DH. and about how she talked to me and guess what? SHE WAS MENT TO CALL IN A DIETITION! i could aruge that she could have endangered daz with the LACK OF FOOD...i think i'll feel better once i write a compaint letter. now i feel valid for being so angry at her! i go back to another LC next tuesday toget another script/ see if i can do any B/Fing and then book in again with the one i've been seeing...she said next time we'll sit down and talk it out because what happend in the paed ward...as she said "relaxed mum - relaxed bub" i better go get the dishes (or some of them!) done before DH gets home. i hope every one is having a good day!
Sad news from me tonight :(.
Found out one of my uncles died this evening. He had a heart aneurysm a couple of days ago and never woke up again. I wasn't close to him, but still - very sad. My Dad is in shock a bit I think, as he was only 57. :(
Ok quick update -
We stayed the night in hospital and OF COURSE nothing happened whilst we were there!!
Although overnight her HR went down to 64 but they told me that was ok???
The paed came to see us in the morning and he said 'look i still have no answers for you but i dont think it is epilepsy because when you pick her up the fits stop. IF it WAS epilepsy nothing you could do would stop the fits'
So i suppose that is a good thing!!!! They are not going to do any tests just yet unless it happens again.
If it does happen again i have to try and record it so they can see what is going on.
argh i hate not being able to do personals i feel so selfish!!! please dont be angry at me
*runs and hides*
ETA- sterla, whether you were close to him or not - it doesnt matter you are allowed to be sad! to you an your family
 Sterla.
