Moose: Poor Sammy getting jabbed. It's awful watching them get needles, but if it stops them from getting sick it's more than worth it. That's a good idea about getting booster shots, I hadn't thought of that.
Wow, you've had it good with Sammy's night time routine. Try not to worry about it changing - it will probably keep changing for a while yet... and hopefully (most likely) for the better. I hope so anyway, as our night time routine with Oliver is not exactly ideal. He might have a bit of a doze lying on DH or me during the evening, but doesn't go down for his proper sleep until about 11.30pm most nights, or later. Then he'll sleep anywhere between 4 and 6 and a half hours, wake for a feed, then sleep for another 3 hours. He seems to like sleeping more from about 11pm to 11am... one day we'll try and adjust that routine, but for now that's what he does, so I work around it.
I hear you on the losing weight thing... I need to lose about the same amount as you actually! The only effort I've made towards that so far is to go for walks with Oliver in the pram 3-4 times a week. Oh, and breastfeeding ;).
I am still using the nipple shields. I should have tried harder weaning us off them a while ago, cause now not only do I just find them so much easier, but Oliver seems to be so used to them that he can't feed without them. I tried today briefly, and he just won't attach and gets really upset with me. I think I'm to the point of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". It doesn't affect my milk supply (I still have HEAPS), and if anything the nipple shield probably helps slow down the flow, cause he already splutters a bit with the nipple shield.

Blip: :bluecheer: That's great that Darren is doing so well! I'm so happy that things are working out for you after so much initial (and most likely unnecessary) intervention.
How exciting about dyeing your hair! I've actually never dyed my hair - but I've been thinking about getting some highlights... hope it goes well! :D

Antheia: Saw your pics of Orson on FB - absolutely adorable!!!

Oliver is good today, but I've noticed that his breathing sounds funny - like he has a slightly blocked nose. He can still breath, but it doesn't sound clear if that makes sense. I don't think he has a cold - but his breathing does sound funny, and sometimes when he gets upset he makes these funny snorting sounds. Something's not quite right there...

Sterla: Don't worry about the wheezing, Sammy does it all the time and the paed checked her chest and its all sweet, he also said that kids couldn't develop asthma before 3months. It could be a little mucus in there but everything is so small in their little bodies that sometimes it sounds a lot worse than it is.

I know we've had it easy with her routine, she is a good baby and she is a good sleeper...hopefully its a phase!!

Sterla, the reason for this is because babies can't blow their nose, it stuffs up. Thats why they sneeze a lot too, to get it out. The reason for the snorting is because babies cannot breathe through their mouthes, only their nose. So it sounds like they are struggling to get air in but theyre not really.

Thanks Antheia :). So that's why he sneezes so much! I'm glad it's normal. It's so hard to know sometimes.

It is hard to know sometimes. But you'll get there. Whether it be from trial and error or advice from belly belly. :)

Good morning ladies!! How is everyone?
I wrote a huge reply yesterday and my computer poo'd itself halfway through and i had to turn it off at the power before posting, argh!! Just put Winter down so I could re-write and now suprise, she's awake! little turd :)

Thats so exciting about you getting a house Stera, you'll never have to worry about house inspections or any of that hassle again, woop!

How did your hair dying goe Blip?
Winter and I are doing well, she is such a cheeky monkey! getting fatter as the days go by, she's into 00's now! We took her for her shots last week and it was HORRIBLE! i think i cried more than she did though(im a sook)... she settled within two mins, such a little trooper. I gave her a feed in the car strait after to say sorry :(

How did the mothers groups go? I would love to join one but I dont have my licence(currently learning) so i cant really get anywhere which sucks as Id love to meet other mums... so Bellybelly is my mothers group*

Were not doing much for Easter, especially since he cant eat chocolate yet lol. But i always buy my kids an eater card for their first easter and put it in their memory box.

Thats a great idea... I was at a good friends house sat night and she was telling me when she was born her mum bought a fern and she still has it 27 years later!! im a big fan of baby keepsakes... bit of a hoarder i think :)

Yeah me too. DD has 2 memory boxes because i kept so much lol!

good afternoon ladies!

Anthiea & stelra : daz makes the snorty sound too. i got given nasel saline spray - pushes the snot out and drys it up...and makes him sneeze, i use it while he's feeding if he has a snuffly snout.

Jord - the hair dying went well! my DH loves it! (even if my FIL & MIL didnt notice...untill DH pointed it out!) i SO know what you mean with winter. Daz is the same. put him down and hes awake if he's not wanting to sleep (or has wind!) YaY for winter being the 00's! daz is in them, only becuase he's soo bloody long!

AFM: daz got waighed. he's put on around 290g a week since she last saw him (two weeks) so he's now 4.9kg! so im over the moon! she was happy with the waight gain. she still thinks he's really strong for his age (as in happily holding his head up while i had him on my hip!) and rolling over onto his side while i was tyring to dress him! i'm also feeling better as im sending a letter of complaint to the hospital that treated darren last week becuase of the lack of communication and the disrespect i got from a nurse whilest there. Ohh and my wedding band/engagment ring fit again too! im soo happy! i havent been able to wear the engagment ring since i was 14 weeks preggers (my hands blew up) and my wedding band...well..ever! (they where sewn into my bra next to my heart when we got married!) i better go and wash up daz's bottles before he wakes and do the dishes!

I have been having lots of chocolate - I wonder if that means Oliver has been having chocolate milk :p! We had a lovely breakfast at my parent's place, and ended up staying till 4pm! It was a nice, lazy day. Oliver had plenty of time with the grandparents, which they absolutely loved!

We didn't get Oliver anything, but a friend got us a Lindt choc pack with a plush toy bunny for him.

Good to hear you had fun at your parents Sterla Its definately good getting Grandparent time I reckon(but small doses!!!) We went to DP's folks fri and stayed the night which was good except they literally get up at the crack of dawn and they have a tiled house so basically everyone gets woken up at 6am... which is when Winter wakes up for a feed but then we go back to sleep... I just wanted to yell "shut the bloody hell up!" on sat morning,probably wouldnt go down well though :)
Grandma got Winter a stuffed bunny and a couple of tops,but apart from that she missed out!

Hello ladies and a happy belated Easter to you all!

Sterla: Glad you had a good time at your folks! We have the same kind fo relationship with my IL's
LOL at the bubs having chocolate milk, I reckon Sammy has been having some for sure, not that our milk need to be any sweeter than it already is.

Jords: I just noticed both our DD were born on the 9th of Feb! LOL got 6to love the early rising GP's eh? Sammy used to go back for a sleep after the 6am feed but not anymore! I can't complain she is already sleeping from 7-8pm ish til 2-3am and has actually done a few all nighters til 5:30am-6am already!

Antheia: Orson looks so cute, I reckon he looks like you a lot. You sound like you are coping well with all the kids? How are your other wee ones reacting to Orson?
AFM: DD got her first Easter card from Nanna and I bought her some bunny ears...LOL she looked so cute, will upload a piccie once I;ve downloaded them from the camera. We had a pretty quietish Easter, had some friends over on Friday for a nice lunch and a few drinks, chilled out Saturday and went over to my DH's stepsister yesterday for some more food and drinks! DH is back at work today and we are now both back on our eating plan...which means no more chocolates and muffins and whatever other sweets I have grown accustomed to eating on a daily basis when I was pregnant...it's time to get rid of the muffin top! Been going for power walks everyday and am back to pre- preggers weight already but want to lose more to go back to my earlier figure!!

Has anyone DTD with their DH yet? DH and I went down that path on our anniversary night last week and it sure as heck does not feel the same at all... must keep on doing the pelvic floor exercises...I also find I have not been able to not wear at least a liner in my undies due to small leakage, especially when I sneeze...sorry if its pretty personal but curious to see how everyone is doing with that. our anniversary was awesome Btw and of course Sammy was up every hour til 10:30pm but all and all we had a great night...the funniest thing is that the following evening, she slept through the whole night...makes you wander if they know when you want them to go to bed! LOL

Moose, DH and I haven't yet DTD. Took me almost 6mths after #1 and 3mths after #2. I'm only scared because i tore. Although not nearly as bad as the last 2 as i didnt even get stitches this time. But i still freak out!

Gottarun..Orson won't stop crying. I'll be back to post more later.

Moose: My DH and I have DTD once since Oliver was born... and it hurt! :( So much so that I haven't tried again. I don't know why it hurt... I had a c/s, so my downstairs was unharmed in the birth process. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with changing hormones? Maybe things are a bit drier? I really hope it's better next time.
TBH, I much prefer a cuddle these days.
