Blip: That's great that you got your nose done! How does it look? Lol about being a 'bleeder'. Hope it doesn't hurt too much.
Yeah, the Gorge flooding was very impressive. It was Oliver's first trip there too, so we can tell him his first trip was during a flood .
Lol - it's funny you say about Oliver being the quiet mysterious type... I bet he will be like that, cause both DH and I are fairly quiet, and even now Oliver is a quieter baby - very, very observant, but quietly observant.
How is everyone doing? I'm seriously having BB withdrawals .
AFM: I have convinced DH to take a day off work today . I'm so glad, cause I'm so tired (Oliver decided it was time to get up at 5.30am). Plus, our heatpump is being installed today which means strange men hanging around the house all day, so having DH home is good .
And!!! I'm not 100% sure, but I think Oliver may have his first tooth. The main reason I'm not sure is because he hasn't had any teething symptoms... no excess drooling, no red cheeks, no excess chewing, no crankiness... but I run my finger along his gum and there is a definite small hard bit. I've been trying to see, but of course that's near to impossible. The few glimpses I have got he's got a big, whitish swollen bit of his gum, but in the middle there seems to be something. I can't get a good enough look to confirm that it's a tooth, but it feels like a tooth just coming through! I hope it's a tooth - quite exciting .
I hope everyone else is well and having an awesome day (so far)
strerla: YaY for having hubby home its always nice - even better with random men comming to your place! dont you love hunting for teeth? i think daz has one that may be on its way up. i cant tell though if i look he sticks his toung out! the cheeky thing. plus he always has rosey cheeks! that'll be so cool to tell Oli "look i used to sit under that tree and but i couldnt becuase of the FLOOD running right next to it!"
AFM: been quiet today. daz has been fairly good. minus the fact he was wake from 9am unitill 2pm. even a 20min drive to and from seeing DH at work didnt get him to sleep! but he slept from 2pm till 2:45 which i guess is good for him (both 20min naps in one i guess LOL) but the weather has been nice. my nose has been fine today. didnt hurt at all (even when i put the antiseptic gel thingy on)so im quite proud of myself Ohh i did forget to metion i got a rise out of the women who did it. when she said "we have a bleeder" i said "i thought it was bad. always is when you can taste your own blood in the back of your mouth" the look she gave me was classic - but i think having gone through labour with daz the pain didnt seem *that* bad!
Speaking of daz sounds like our hudeni-worm is wriggleing into mischif (hes 6months old and already being cheeky!)
Hope every one is having a good night!
My goodness I dont come on in 4 days and I have a trillion things to check BUT I have a few things that have been happening so this will be a selfish one...
Winter and I went to sleep school friday and I was a bit dissapointed, I mean they watched how I put her down for a nap and pretty much told me everything I was doing was great... now that Ive been home though Ive realised I did get a few good things out of it, just knowing what Im doing is good and they said to keep trying for up to 15 mins during the day and up to an hour at night, so its good knowing a time frame instead of giving up and going back after 2 mins. Also when Winter was SCREAMING the nurse asked me how long I thought she had been crying for(this was when I was patting her but to sleep) and I said ten mins, it had only been five, so that helped me a bit. Now the big news..............
Winter is now in her own room as of friday night
DP actually suggested it a few days beforehand but I wasnt keen, so I asked the nurse and she said it might help... so then we moved her in friday and get this....
SHE SLEPT THROUGH!!!! Then sat night she woke up once, and only once last night too!!!! I feel like a different person its amazing! I am sad that she is a whole room away though, just being able to roll over and see her, but I know its for the best and I think it will be really good for DP and I too, just little things like being able to chat in bed instead of tip toeing in and out of the room.
So thats our news. Also in cloth full time now which is sweet.
Hope your all doing great,
Luua, RESPECT to you for BFing twins!!! That is inspiring for sure, Winter is so easily distracted when feeding these days, I cant imagine having another one on the other side!
Blip: Woot about the tooth! Must be the day for it. Oliver and Daz can be tooth-buddies, lol .
Peach: At least you got that support at the sleep school, and you know you're doing the right things. Some bubs are just harder to get to sleep I think. *sniff* Awww about Winter moving into her own room. Oliver is still in our room, and I'm such a softy, I'm so not ready for him to move into his own room yet, even though I bet he'd be completely fine on his own. That's so, so fantastic that she's sleeping so well at night now though! Maybe that's what she needed? Maybe she could sense you and your DP in the room and it distracted her? Who knows, but you must feel so good to have that all the extra sleep! Great about full-time cloth too!
AFM: Our heatpump is all installed now! We can't use it yet though, cause we have to wait for the electrical company to approve everything... apparently it could be 2-6 weeks! So annoying!
sterla: aww about the heat pump! yay Daz has a teething buddy!
AFM: well i was wrong. we have TWO TEETH. both bottem ones! i thought it was one but tonight NOPE two. no more munching on mummys fingers! ohh and i've also given up on "teething toys" darren likes munching on soft toys FEET. well.. Mr pineapples feet. but i bought a new toy so Mr pineapples feet can 'dry out' lol.
Hope every one is having a good night!
We have our 2nd tooth! Hana now has 2 bottom teeth. The first one has really sprung up in the last week. You can now see it clearly when she grins. The other one cut through on Monday.
Poor Mae has no teeth yet but its not holding her back she is like the cookie monster. I could keep shovelling food into her mouth.
Ella loves her sisters (for now) and the grin and kick their feet when they see her after daycare. But lately she wants to pick them up but I dont think she understands they have a body. When she tries to lift them up she just grabs their head! So funny despite the tears...
Daz and Oliver - Congratulations on the teeth!
Our girls are sleeping in their own room. (our bedroom) while we are out in the living room. They do sleep better in their own room. I wish we had a spare bedroom to put them in. (sigh)
Moose: My folks are in Melbourne and we'd love to visit too but we might wait till the twins are older. Travelling with 3 under 3yo is a nightmare. Great news about the rocking. Sounds like she'll keep you busy once she's on the move!!
Yvet: Milk jelly? Wow that sounds like hard work! Lauren sounds funny rolling around everywhere.
Sterla: Glad Oliver loves bananas. Our girls are not impressed with them. But i'll try again next week... But we love everything else! They eat soooooo much I'm shopping constantly for fruit and veges but then again I've got two hungry little mouths to feed
1PJ: Hope Summer is drinking more. Is she still having 6 wet nappies? On the rolling - dont worry. Ella didnt roll till she was 9months old but she was talking in full sentences at 19months so she may end up being a talker rather than an active girl. Looks like Hana and Mae will be the same. They are talking all the time (to each other)
On the weekend we took all the girls to the beach. Cant believe we're doing this in Summer! Anyway it takes us 30mins to get everyone in the car and half way there we realised we forgot the food! Doh! Ella loved splashing and making sandcastles and the girls got their first dip in the ocean.
Hi Ladies!!!Im back!!Sorry no personals, just mainly wanted to say hello to you all,we had a great time!Good to be back though in my own bed and everything!Think Summer is happier too.No milestones or anything to report like a few others,no little toothys yet, weird really i was so sure by now with all the drooling and chewing etc.anyway ive had a bit of a read but not a huge one but glad everyone sounds well,im sooo tired,DH has gone over to a mates place to watch football and i am here all alone poor me bring out the violins haha just jokes i chose too stay home as his wifes away for the weekend plus im too tired.ok,i'll say bye for now night ladies!!
Hi ladies, sorry its a rather selfish post,im really worried about summer, shes refusing her bottles, shes fine with the solids still but is having 2 bottles in a 24 hour period max!!Its been 3 days now,i dont know why.Funny little bubba. No other news, she has her injections thursday so i might ask the doctor then.No other excitements, just had a bit of a disagreement with DH,im surewe have the only baby who still hates tummy time and hasnt yet rolled!!!How embaressing!!haha. He just thinks she will get it in her own time but shes getting older and the months are ticking by!!
yvettemj-sorry to hear you were in hospital!Hey noone here would ever judge,im sure!!My Dh has it also so i sort of know how hard it can be,thankfully he is now on the right meds too, hope so for you too!How cute about the raspberries!Summers out of control with them right now too!As for being the only gummy bear, nope Summer has no sign of any either, lots of dribble, chewing etc but no toothies.Hope you enjoyed your roast!!
Blip: Yeah, I had heard about the crazy winds. That's no good that you had all that business with the tree and fence. Glad you and DH got to kick back and have a few drinks. I've still barely had anything to drink since (and before) Oliver was born. I think I've had a half glass of wine on two occasions, but that's it. Yay for no hangover!
Yvettemj: Had been wondering where you'd got to . I'm sure no one will judge you here . I hope everything is okay now. That's great that you have family and friends for support - it makes so much difference. Lol at Lauren's rolling! Oliver can only roll from tummy to back, so he can't roll across rooms yet - must be fun! Oh, I know what you mean about raspberries! Oliver has rediscovered raspberries for the third time - except this time around there is heaps and heaps of spray involved!
1PJ: No idea about Summer and her bottles. I hope she's okay though. I think most bubs go through times of refusing bottles (or boob) - it's pretty normal. Hopefully she'll get back to normal. Don't worry about the rolling too much (I know it's hard not to). Bubs learn to do things at different times. I bet some bubs don't roll at all and just move straight onto other things.
Peach: How are you and Winter doing? Lol - funny tipsy Peach .
Moose: Have you drowned in that pile of washing? Should we send for help? Lol .
Luua: How are your girls doing?
Antheia: Hope you're having an awesome time on your holiday!
AFM: We went on our first little family day trip yesterday, to have lunch with MIL for her birthday. We drove 1.5 hours, and Oliver was an angel and slept the whole way. We had lunch with MIL and BIL, and Oliver got lots of cuddles and enjoyed chewing on MIL's necklace. He was a happy boy most of the time. The weather was pretty awful though, so we didn't stay on and just drove home after lunch, and Oliver slept all the way home. He slept more yesterday through the day than he usually does, but was still a very tired boy by the evening.
Oliver has been on banana for the past few days and seems to really like it - more so than anything else he's tried. We finally had our first 'banana poo' today - I was expecting it to stink, but it didn't - just looked really funny!
We had a pretty quiet day today - my sister was over and we were making a photo book for my Dad for Father's Day. Ooh, speaking of Father's Day - what do you all have planned for your DH/DP?
Busy week ahead for Oliver and I: MG tomorrow, Playgroup Tuesday and Rock & Rhyme Thursday.
