Peach: Awww, poor Winter and poor you . That's no good. I hope she's okay . Yeah, it's so nice having a fellow BBer around - it's Arimeh actually (you may know of her, she's right into MCNs).
AFM: Another crappy night last night - down at 7.30pm, up at 8pm, up at 10.30pm, up at 2.30am... then after that I lose count... he just wouldn't let me put him down. At 6.45am I woke DH, and then I had a small sleep till 7.30am. He isn't having enough sleep during the day either. He's a little clingy at the moment, and off his food a bit... my guess is that he's teething... mainly because he's had these huge dribble patches next to his head while he sleeps. He doesn't dribble that much through the day though... So confusing.
We had Rock & Rhyme this morning which was nice. A mum I hadn't seen in a couple of weeks was there, and her baby boy just started crawling yesterday! Very exciting. Oliver and her bub (Oscar) were crawling around everywhere . Then we had lunch with my mum and came home in a very, very hot car - Oliver wasn't happy . He's in bed now - hopefully in for a big sleep .
How is everyone else doing? Surviving the heat? We're hot here today, well, hot for Tassie - 29 degrees!
That sucks you had a hard night, Winter is off her food too Its stressfull! You must be like a walking zombie Sterla! I wonder if it is teeth for Oli?? Is he rosy? I know of Arimeh, I think anyone on here who has ever asked a question about cloth knows of her Is it weird meeting someone IRL that you have spoken to heaps on here? As in like already having an impression of them?
Winter has had one 15min nap today. Argh. She is still clammy and hot.
29 degrees heheh I guess when your used to freezing climate that would be hot...
Sterla it sounds like Oli might have the virus Winter had. Its awful I know, I hope he gets better for you quick.
PJ- Thats no good Summer was unsettled for you. Days like that have you tried putting her in the pram with a cover over and taking her for a walk? Im so over doing things the hard way with Winter. Twice this week we have gone for a night walk to get her to sleep then put her in her cot... and she still sleeps through. So do whatever is easiest for you!
Just a quick one today, I was going to post in the BF section but I figured you girls could help. I got an electric pump but I still cant get any milk! I tried yesterday and again today and I only got like maybe 15mls today. And I have milk cos I hand express to get it started... what am I doing wrong??? Im finding it really stressful as DPs work party is in 2 weeks and I need bottles for Winter I dont want to put her on formula for the day
peach: which pump is it? does it have differant "suck" settings? becuase to get the let down happening you need short, quick sucks then post-let down you need longer drawn out ones (can you tell i expressed for a while ) you might also find that you cant express much with a pump. hand expressing may work better for you (every boobie is differant!)
sterla: Aww hope Oli is feeling better! poor little poppet. hopefully he settles back down for you!
PJ: hope summer is feeling better too! poor angel. how are you going?
AFM: GAH so tired! had a busy week: went to Maariesvil on tuesday with DH (he had the week off) and then a full on weekend. had a wedding to go to that's 2.5hrs way. DJ was brillant in the car. slept/watched out the window. got to the motel (basicly my fathers side was staying there) which was nice. got DJ all dressed and ready (running late by then) and got to the wedding - as the bride got there! due to lack of signage as it was in a park but after the wedding we all trundled down to the pub. whilest we waited for the respetion. so that was nice to kick back with every one for a while when we headed off the the respetion. it was nice, a local indoor bowls club (i think) very...country bumkin, in a nice way. DH was "taking full advantage of the free boose" as i was driving back to the motel. it was a nice night. made me realise how lucky we are with Daz though. he slept in my arms at the wedding location for about 45mins. then was happy for about 4 hours then come 9pm he was wanting to sleep. so he fell alseep in my arms - untill the DJ started up. and the little s.h.i.t.e kept turning the music up! arg. so i ended up out side untill he went back off to sleep and sat at the back of the hall. i got a little annoied though as i had a few of the older women tell me "ohh just pop Daz in the pram around the conrner -you wont hear him cry and you can have some fun" turned around to one and said "im sorry, but i dont do CIO, it to me in unhealthy and not worth the pain and suffering that comes with it. my son sleeps in my arms, hes happy im happy. no point in messing with what works is there?" we ended up leaving about 11pm - before the bride and groom as my arm was almost numb! plus the rain had eased off a little. i was following my mum (who was driving my fathers car that has GPS on it) well...lets just say stevie wonder would have been a better driver (my mum was sober!) thanks to my dads drunken directions (mum ignored the GPS to listen to him!) the next morning we all had brekkie together which was nice. mind you i though we may need a boat not a car to get home! the only downer of the weekend was a cousin of mine Via marriage who has some mental issues was there. she cant have kids (for what ever reson) and since falling pg. with DJ she's been an out and out cow! she ignored me last chirstmas and on saterday ignored me and sunday she tried talking to DH, but nothing was said to me. she also ignored DJ - when he giggled at her for attention, which really got my goat. but other then that it was a good weekend. as for bundy? well i've been tired and feeling a little sick. not as bad as when pg. with DJ though. but i guess i shouldnt compain. i've also been more emotional then when preg. with DJ - so poor DH can say something little and the water works start! and he has nooo idea why. two weeks untill the first scan! which will be fun. teehee...im wondering if bundy is a girl...being so emtional and all msl:
oo better go DJ is waking up!
I don't know if I'll have time for personals... I'm very tired, so we'll see how I go.
We had a shocking night with Oliver last night. After Oliver had his huge nap yesterday evening, he again wouldn't go down in his cot. He ended up coming to bed with DH and I at 11pm. There he fell asleep fine, before waking at 1am. After that he just wouldn't go down - not in his cot, not in our bed. I basically spent all night holding him. Towards the end of the night I managed to find myself a comfortable spot on the couch so I could still hold Oliver, and I think I may have dozed a bit. DH got up around 6.30am and held Oliver for an hour or so, so I had a bit more sleep then.
He was a tired, tired boy all morning, and I was rushing around trying to get the house in order before I had MG at my house in the early afternoon. At one stage I was even holding Oliver in one arm and vacuuming with the other.
I managed to get Oliver to have a small sleep at some stage - but it was in my bed and I had to lie next to him.
While my MG was here, I noticed Oliver felt hot again (he hadn't been all night and morning), so I took his temp - 38.3 degrees. So, again I gave him some panadol. That helped a lot - he started to cool down and he perked up a bit (though was still very tired).
I had a dr appointment in the late afternoon (to clear my very blocked ears), and Oliver fell asleep in the car on the drive into the city. I picked DH up so he could watch Oliver - he ended up just driving and then parking the car, and Oliver slept the entire time we were out (about 1.5 hours).
This evening he was tired, but not seeming sick or feverish or anything. I let him fall asleep on me, and held him for ages... then finally put him in his cot, and he let me, no fuss!!!
I'm still not sure what's wrong, but am thinking maybe teething. Mainly because his temperature isn't consistent, and I've caught him several times chewing on his fingers and wrist. I hope it passes soon - I'm running on 2 hours sleep right now.
Oh, and I can't believe how clearly I can hear everything now! I'd had a blocked ear for 12 days, and I finally got into the drs today to get them cleared out. It's the first time I've had it done - feels so weird, but it's nice to be able to hear again! Everything sounds echo-ey now though, cause I've been so used to only hearing out of one ear.
Right, personals...
Dansta: Sounds like you've been busy! So glad that your family has taken to the news of bundy so well . Maybe you having Daz made them warm to the idea? More babies for them to play with . That will be nice if bundy is a girl - one of each!
PJ: I hope Summer is feeling better and sleeps better for you - I know exactly what it's like right now.
Peach: How are you and your chubba bubba doing? I'll PM you about Twilight - so do you just want a basic rundown of what happens in the last two books?
Can't help you with the pump stuff - I've got a manual pump and it takes a while, but I can get decent amounts. I have heard that some women simply can't get much from pumping though. I hope you and your DP are feeling better soon. Lol at Winter talking like a crazy asian lady!
Moose: How you doing?
Anyone else out there
Oh, and Oliver has started doing this funny new thing. He clenches a fist and stretches his arm up - kind of like a 'fight the power' sign. He kind of looks like he's doing a superman impression, so we've been saying that when he does it. Now all we have to do is say "superman" and he does it - so cute!!! I'll try and get it on video and upload it to FB so those of you on there can see it!
Anyway, I should really get to bed and try and catch up on some much-needed sleep. Goodnight all.
Well, we had a much better night last night. Oliver woke at 11.30pm and had a feed, but went straight back down in his cot, no fuss! He woke again at 3am, and this time he wouldn't go back down in his cot - so I took him into my bed, and he slept there till just before 7am! Much better! He's not hot at all today, and seems fine apart from being very tired. And I actually got him to go down for a sleep in his cot this morning! I'm hoping the worst of whatever it is is behind us .
Glad to hear you had a better night last night Sterla, the night before sounded awful. Yes a spoiler on the last two books would be good thanks
Im worse today than yday so am off to the drs this arvo, i feel hooooorible! Managed to express almost 20ml this morning, im just going to keep at it even if I only end up with one botttle. Winter of course had to be a part of it when I had the pump out and crawled over and helped herself to the other side
Hope everyone is well**
Piglet has just gone down for a nap so I have time to reply!
How are we all? Things here have been pretty good, Winter and I went to Rhyme Time at the library this morning, it was good to get out and there were some really lovely Mums there who I havnt met before. I dont know if Ive mentioned before but the lady who hosts it really dosnt seem too keen on it all which is a little... I dont know, boring at times? But Winter and I both love the social interaction so its good to go I think.
Winter is good, she is cruising along walls and anything that will support her. She pulls herself up and tries to climb up the back of our legs now when she want to be picked up which is cute, but sometimes manages to pull my pants down entirely(not when in public luckily ) Um what else? Holey crap I havnt posted since before christmas!! Well WInter got spoilt rotton which is no suprise and not our house is so full of toys it is ridiculous. I look at it all and feel like no child needs this many toys but I guess I should just appreciate it hey. NYE we stayed home and I fell asleep at 11.30
Sterla- Your avvy looks awesome, I cant believe you made it well done! I would love one but cash is so tight here atm I know I should get membership... one day. That is so great all the words Oli is saying, lol about Boob. I bet it was nice to go to the movies although I do understand what you mean about getting anxious. My Mum has watched Winter a fair few times now, and I dont really get too stressed anymore as I trust her completely. It is sooo strange walking around without a pram though!
Dansta-Good on you for sticking up for your values with DJ. Some people have no idea I reckon, one hour of crying it out? That makes me sad just thinking about it. Best of luck with hearing Bundy's heartbeat
PJ- How are you? How is Summer healing ? Hope your both well.
Moose- Hello to you and Sammy!
Oh man Winter is awake! Hope everyone is well
Winter was so not ready to be awake so is now sleeping in her pram. Up untill about two days ago she actually went off falling asleep on my boob and would only fall asleep in her pram and spent a few whole nights in it, but I think hopefull it will pass soon the last 2 nights have been ok even though she woke up twice and was up for the day at half 5
One last thing, I learnt a big lesson yesterday.... Winter woke up from her arvo nap in her cot and she was grizzling, so I left her for a minute and then I heard a thump and crying, she had climbed and fallen out of her cot and was flat on her back on the floor! She wasnt hurt at all and actually stopped crying as soon as I cuddled her but I have the rail raised now, lesson learned!
Ok Im off now
Hi ladies!!Glad to hear everyone sounds well!Sorry I havent been in here for a while we seemed sooooo busy over the break! All is well here but I guess most of you might know about poor Summers leg!!I think in my last post I mentioned my nephew and neice wwere playing on the floor with her and she suddenly started screaming and they thought maybe she'd hit her head well i turned out her leg was fractured poor poppet!!We didnt even know, after she cried for about half hour she went to sleep and then woke like normal for her bath and went back to bed no worries it wasnt till the next day we noticed she was favouring the leg so i took her to the docs and they sent her for xrays and then up the hospital for a cast, its a undisplaced fracture so its not all the way threw I still feel so bad poor thing. She only has the cast on for another week now so thats good news though. It seems the only story we can get out is that her leg may have got caught under the rocker thing and one of them leant on it.crazy as shes played with them sooo many times before and usually my nephew i have to keep an eye on but ive told him that many times and hes 10 so not as if he not get it and they were sitting on the floor with her while she playing with toys and there were 5 adults sitting right there!!!Anyway cant keep on about it just glad shes healing nicely!
Peach-Wow thats something i keep waiting for, summer hasnt pulled herself up yet but can sit up,i will start pulling the rail up too!!Made me laugh about pulling your pants down when winter grabs hold of you heehee cute
DJ-good on yo!!I dont believe in the crying thing either too sad surely it harms them and makes them feel unloved???Ive been told that too and i stupidly tried it once it was the worst arvo of my life and summer was soooo distraught after and it didnt do anything!
Sterla-I love it!!boob!heehee!when I saw pics of Oli on the walker thing on facebook I could see how good he is at walking!!hes so clever!!
sorry its so quick ladies but i can hear someone waking up id better go!!Oh BTW somebody has started to make an effort to crawl!!!!yah!!Cast and all!!!
Good to hear from you Pj, Im glad Summer is doing well and trying to crawl with the cast on how exciting Dont be too hard on yourself about her leg, with a bunch of adults around you would think you could leave the room for a sec hey. Its hard not to get the Mummy guilts sometimes though.
*Yawn* Winter didnt sleep through again last night its been about a week now, minus the two nights she slept in her pram next to our bed. And then the stupid dog next door woke us all up at half six, GGGRRR! Anyway things apart from that are good, was meant to see a friend today but she is unwell so Im not getting out of my pj's all day
Hope you all had a good night*
I think I better clarify... I didn't make my own avvy, Trillian made that (she does most of them I think), but I did make Arimeh's. I didn't mean for it to sound like I'd made mine too .
Dansta: Sounds like you had a busy New Year's. That sucks about your family telling you to CIO with DJ It's hard sometimes - when people say that to me I'm torn between wanting to inform them about how crappy CIO is, or just smiling and nodding (and completely disregarding what they say). Usually I opt for smile and nod, cause I'm not big on confrontation .
Awww about slobbery kisses - they're the best!
Peach: That's great about Winter cruising around furniture! Clever girl.
That sucks about the lack of sleep - I hear you though. I am so tired, thank goodness DH is home on holidays still so I can kick him out of bed in the mornings and get an extra hour or two sleep. Oh no about Winter falling out of her cot! I've worried about that with Oliver. I'm pretty sure he can't, but I still wonder and worry sometimes.
Saw your sig - less than a month till Winter is one!!! It's so hard to believe our babies are all about to turn one! Are you having a party for Winter?
PJ: Like Peach said, don't be too hard on yourself about Summer's leg . That's good that her cast comes off soon. Wow, well done Summer starting crawling with a cast!!! That's impressive!
Moose: How are you and Sammy? Flat out I imagine
AFM: Oliver has been up since 6am (officially - before that he was up and down every half an hour since 3am). Hasn't gone down for a sleep yet (apart from 5 mins at around 8.30am). Exhausting!
Yesterday we had MG in the park, that was nice. So many bubs started crawling over the Christmas break - I think three are properly crawling and one is sort of 'worming' along the ground - bubs have been busy!
We also had friends over last night for board games which we haven't done in ages! They are understandably busy - being that they're getting married a month from today!
I'm a bit tired and can't think of what else we've been up to, sorry. I hope you're all well.
Pj: should we start calling Summer peg-leg? she's doing brillaint to be trying to crawl with her legs in a cast! im sure things will sort them selfs out RE your nephew. and aww about the cot-diving thing too. my sister did that and chipped her fount tooth- chaceing her Dummy noless (and yes, shes a blonde but now a lawyer...so tis not all bad )
Peach: aww about the dog maybe she'll get used to it? we have a dog next door to us - and she barks from time to time but DJ sleeps though it - i think hes used to it now. i hope winter sleeps better for you
sterla: yay for crawling bubbas at MG! hehe you're noice kicking your DH out of bed to tend to Oli - i'd be doing the same thing i hope Oli gets some sleep for you. as for the CIO - they're lucky i was in a good mood other wise i'd most likely have gone to town on them - and even offered to send them the studies i have read regarding CIO and the affects it has on babies. esp. the one with out a child. she is just a tad full of her self...didnt talk to me for 12 months then on NYE gave me a belly rub for bundy 0_0
AFM: we have some toothie pegs on the rise! or rather fall. two top ones i saw white lumps yesterday morning but by the arvo they'd gone down...give it a week and we'll have four teethies, not two! and no doubt the rest wont be too far behind...i better go i have a Mr Dj awake!
Hello lovely ladies!!!Sorry no time for personals today but i promise i will soon,i just wanted to drop in and say hello!!Hope everyones really good!!I dont have too much news here, been doing a few things to keep cool being as weve had 36 degree heat!!!So the public pools and places have been well used and summer loves it!!!She has finally actually started crawling properly i cant believe it!!!FINALY Yah so shes full on now but sooo cute!!!So she loves the kiddy pools where she can crawl about and splash. He cast came off last Tuesday so that was great shes so much happier and they said there'd be no problems and there right shes going great guns!!(and heres me saying i had not much news haha)anyway thats about it for now,i really will have to get a ticker sorted,i followed your instructions Sterla but i still might need some help i'll have another go.Hope everyones good!!
Hi ladies, just thought I'd check in again. How are we all?
PJ: That is AWESOME about Summer crawling . Honestly, she sounds right on track. A couple of bubs in my MG didn't start crawling till 11+ months.
Our little ones are fast approaching their first birthday! Who is planning a party? We are having two parties I think - one on Oliver's actual birthday with all the grandparents, then a party on the Sunday as well for friends and mums+bubs from MG. I've made my own invitations and sent a few off already. It's very exciting, and I have a feeling I'll be quite emotional about the whole thing!
We are good here, though I think tooth number 6 is about to make it's appearance. Oliver has been a bit grizzly the last few days, and has been doing lots of hand chomping. Still, he really doesn't get very bad with teething at all.
PJ: So awesome Summer is almost crawling!! You go girl!! I am sure you've also been doing lots of swimming with all th heat we have had
Sterla: I am planning a party and in typical fashion we are ending up with 38adults and 10 children..yes you read well, between 40- 50 people for Sammy's 1st birthday...I know its a bit much, but what can you do!!We are having a sausauge & rissole BBQ with salad and cake, very simple but very much looking forward to it! I am glad Oli is not too bad with his teething, poor possums, you can just see that they are in a bit of pain sometimes. The 2 parties sound good for Oli, I am sure we'll have a mini celebration for Sam on the 9th as her party is on the 7th.
Dansta: Ohh, you must be so excited for your scan of Bundy!! I hope he/she behaves well for you and puts on a show!! Dj sounds like he is just cruising along and crawling like a champ!! Hope your DH's work craziness stops soon and that he gets to be home with you and DJ more and "fingers crossed" he doesn't have to work tomorrow.
Peach: yup Winter and Sammy sound like 2 peas in a pod. Sammy has also recently become obsessed with feeding herself and has taken to putting plates & bowls on her head! LOL So we wait til the bowl & plate are empty before we give them to Sam now...Haha she is quite happy to let me if my choice of meal is not to her liking, she has been pretty good though. I guess she is allowed to not feel like something I am giving her to eat, she just always seems to pick the times that most inopportune! Hope you are feeling better
As for us, well, things are still crazy busy, I am starting to wonder if it will ever end! LOL Thanks everyone for your food suggestions, I pretty much give the same but just trying to vary it more often now, I was getting lazy I think.
Update on my little princess, Sammy now has 11 teeth, including 2 molars and one more which is just about cut. so yes 12 teeth, but she has been pretty good, the molars have definately been the worse, I've been going through rusks like they are going out of business. I'd rather she chews on them than the couch or everything else she gets her hands on. Sammy has also starting taking a few steps!! YAY, over the last week, she has made up to 3 steps from one thing to another and has been doing some freestanding since early Jan, she is getting a lot better at it, but is also falling a lot more and has got quite a few bruises & nicks...nothing too serious but a couple good scare that I am now pretified of having her by the TV stand. She has also started to say more words now, she says duck, can do the fishy face when shown a fish, also says "gentle" LOL I guess we say that a lot, she's not the most dainty little girl I am afraid, but her vocab is expanding really quickly, she is also making the "st" sound when shown a star and is trying real hard to say her name too. As I mentioned to Sterla, we are having a HUGE birthday party for her so should be a bal. Not to much else to report I am afraid, we've had a very busy week-end as usual, so am going to go chill and watch my good ol' buddy tv.
