Hello dearies,
sorry for my long absence. We were in Germany with my parents and are now having ILs over, went to see the Australia - Brazil game in Munich, I was sick and had to have a drip (bronchitis and some nasty bug on top of it) etc. etc. all very crazy
Zara rolled for the first time yesterday from her back onto her belly. She loves her new trick and does it every few minutes now, it's so cute! She is so proud of herself! She doesn't roll from her belly to her back though, which Wolf did first... weird, huh?
We had the 3-4 month check up while we were in Germany, she is now 62cm and weighs 6kg. Still fully breastfed and doing well, though I am thinking more and more that I will stop at 6 months or thereabouts. She has started pulling at my boob and keeps on pulling of and twisting her head and it's getting exhausting. I lasted 8 months with Wolf but I think 6 is pretty good (though - can you tell - I feel guilty for even considering weaning her earlier than Wolf)
Soooooooooo excited about the football - I hope Australia beats Italy and Germany beats Argentina and Australia will play Germany in Dortmund (in which case I might go back to Germany and try to get tickets, as Dortmund is 20 mins from my parents' place)
Sorry for no personals but have read everyone's posts. ]
re. solids: I think Zara is far from it. I will wait until she stops poking out her tongue all the time

Morning everyone!
Just thought I would pop in to say a big hello to you all. Ive not been around that much as I have been super busy with Allegra who is over 5 months now!
We are set to leave for overseas within the fortnight and I am packing and getting everything ready now because it would be my luck that I will get sick or something will come up (and indeed it has, a close family friend's father has died and I have a funeral to attend as well as trying to be there for my friend) so just a little message to say g'day and hope all mummas and bubbas are ok!
T and A xx
-
we're very quiet here in deed, huh?
hope everyone is well
teena - have a good trip to europe! hope the flight with allegra goes well.
such a bummer that the socceroos lost and such an awful way as well...
but very excited of course that germany won today! all my aussie friends here are now going for the german team :D
zara has been throwing up recently ... it's really weird. it doesn't seem to bother her much but she never used to vomit and does it quite a bit now... hmmm... anyone else gone through a vomiting stage?? or do you think it could be a tummy bug?
-
HELLLLOOOO EVERYONE...WE ARE ALL MIA AT THE MOMENT!!!
Aiden is going along wonderfully...he will be 22 weeks on friday. He's soooo smiling and such a happy bub. At the moment he is having 1/2 jar of baby food 2-3 times a day and 4 bottles.
Zara is going to be 3 on Sunday..where has the time gone...it's so said to think she is going to go to 3 year old kinder next year...im going to miss her sooooooo much:crying:
I hope everyone else is well.
Take care
-
Been very quiet,
Ben is going well. No solids as yet. I have been taking him to the Physio 2 times a week because his back is a little bit "bent", but that comes from sleeping on his left and should be fine if all goes well.
In the past week he has perfected his rolling skills, and wriggles all over the place. I have to keep a close eye on him when he is lying on the floor, he could end up on the other side of the room! Also, when we put him to bed, the first thing he does is move onto his belly... also turns around 90 - 360 degrees, so we never know where he will end up. Im so glad we are using sleeping bags.
Teena - have fun in europe!!! You will have a ball. Its been so hot here lately, i hope the weather holds up for you.
snowy - horrible Germany lost the other night! Im supporting France in the final, Italy made both Germany and Australia go out of the game, so GO FRANCE!!
Its been so hot lately, its disgusting. I wish we had the money to get a fantastic air conditioning system.
I hope you are all doing great!!
-
LOL, Katie...when I read your post I thought...."HOT????...." Then realised your in summer at the moment. So it's actually hot in Germany? When we were living there it never got that hot. What is the temperature atm?
It's pretty cold here. Around 4 degrees in the morning...brrrrrr! And DH rides in it a couple times a week so i can have the car :)
Yay, on Ben's rolling skills. Kayla rolled twice about two weeks ago and hasn't done it since LOL. Sure she isn't far off :)
-
nadine, It was about 32 degrees yesterday, very humid. That might not sound too "hot" compared to Australia, but when you live on the second floor with no air conditioner, it feels like 50 degrees. Its awful, i feel so sorry for Ben. I want winter to come back!!
Lucky Dh has Air conditioning at work.
Well, i should go, Ben has a physio appointment in an hour, and he is still sleeping.
Take care.
-
Oh it's been hot in Europe!! And without a breeze it gets soo sticky - esp here in London.
Yes, Katie - allez les Bleus! Definitely hoping Italy will be beaten by les Bleus!
Zara is doing well, rolling around and also has managed to roll onto her belly and back on her back again. Soon she'll be rolling through the whole house!
Snowy
-
Yay Europe hear we come!!!!
We leave on Monday - so very excited and all packed up (almost) to go!
Allegra is doing fantastic - my little angel is the absolute light of my life... she laughs so much at her silly mum!
GOOOOOOOOO the Azzuri!!!! Have to go for Italy now that the Socceroo's are out otherwise when I arrive in Italy in about 10 days time they will surely oust me!
I'll log on somewhere in europe when I can ladies - i'm not taking the laptop though, there is far too much to take as it is.
Hope all mums and bubs are good and grow healthy and strong!
T and A xx

WHERE IS EVERYONE??????
If you get a chance just pop in for a quick update...
Aiden is going along really well. He's in a great routine, enjoying solids twice a day and 4 bottles aswell. He loves his Jolly Jumper and activity table. Aiden is going to health centre at the end of the month for his 6 month assessment and then his needles the next day. I can't believe he's nearly 6 months old. This time next year i will off the pill and trying for #3...now that's scary...oh how time flies by.
i hope everyone is well.
Take care
-
Katie- Yes it can get quite humid, that's true!
Teena- YAY, enjoy your trip. You'll have a ball I am sure of it :) We will have to catch up when you are back!
Narelle- That's great that Aiden is doing so well. Yes time is flying by isn't it. I had mothers group yesterday, and there were two 6wk old babies in the group. So tiny! You do forget that they were ever so small (just an excuse to have more) :)
Us- We are doing well. Kayla is a bit off today. Has only had 100ml of formula this morning. 30ml after 5hrs and then another 70ml two hrs later. Not sure what is going on. She seems to be in pain and has very rosey cheeks. Think she is probably teething. I gave her some panadol and also rubbbed bonjela on her gums. She wouldn't even take water for me. I hope she is a new baby when she wakes up. Otherwise I will be a bit concerned that she may dehydrate if she keeps taking minimal fluids. I will see how she is when she wakes, otherwise it may be a trip to the doctors :(
Other then that she has been great. Not rolling yet. Has rolled twice (about a month agao) but hasn't done it since. She smiles, laughs and chats heaps, and is generally a very happy bubba. We tried her with farex again, and she is not too keen on the taste. She closes her eyes, shakes her head and makes this "aaahhh" noise. It's very cute :)
-
Nadine...try giving Kayla 5ml of water or sugar water every hour through a syringe or let her lick an icypole. the doctors suggested this when zara was sick as a bub.
take care narelle
-
Thanks Narelle :) She ended up drinking a bit more which was good. I think her teeth are bothering her, poor thing :( I will definately keep that in mind though for when needed. Thanks heaps :)

Hello girls!
We are in Berlin this weekend for Zara's christening! Tomorrow is the big day - 11 o clock christening, then champagne reception, then nap time and then an early dinner at 5 p.m. Looking fwd to seeing my Berlin friends and my family. DH's family is here from Sydney as well (his little sister will be godmom).
Sorry to hear Kayla has not been well. I hope she is doing better!!!
Teena - have a good trip! I hope the flight with Allegra went well. Hope you get a chance to get online and post!
Narelle - wow, no.3 is already planned? I am not sure at the moment whether I will go back for no.3 or not... we'll see... but definitely not this time next year... maybe Christmas or so next year...
Zara has been so funny recently, experimenting with making all sorts of sounds and she will often just lie there and make these screeching sounds like a little baby dinosaur... so funny. She enjoys it so much. She giggles lots (especially for me... she is such a mommy's girl - everyone keeps commenting about it... it's sometimes really embarassing when she only smiles for me or goes quiet when I pick up while she's been screaming on nonna's arm for 15 mins... wooops)

Snowy - Berlin? OMG, LoveParade is today, hope you arent too close to the city. Dh really wanted to go this year (he went in 2003, and loved it), but i said i couldnt be bothered, and i didnt want to leave Ben for so long. Seeing it on Tv today, im glad we didnt go. Maybe next year though.
Teena - I hope you are having fun in Europe!
Last night Bjoern and I went to a friends place for a BBQ, and left Ben at the in-laws for the night. they didnt have any problems, and when we came to get him in the morning, Ben couldnt care less. Im so glad he isnt so attached to dh and I, means we can go out and enjoy ourselves without having to worry.
I hope you are all well!!
-
yes... loveparade is on! I didn't realise... cause last year, when we still lived in Berlin, they cancelled it and I thought it was the end of an aera... apparently not :D
we are in Berlin-Mitte, but far away enough from the actual parade so we can't hear it. I went in 1997 (OMG - that is 9 years ago... I feel old now!)... that's it for me I think... can't stand the crowds these days.
We had Zara's christening today and it was just beautiful. Everyone was just so impressed with the church service (lovely female priest who did it in English and German) and we had a lovely day.
Kids are in bed now, hotel has LAN and we brought the laptop and no one seems to come to give me a break from babysitting, so am stuck in the room while everyone else is boozing it up in the hotel lobby... :boohoo:
Snowy
-
I dont know if i could handle the LoveParade now. We were going to go last year, but of course it wasnt on. Reason it hasnt been for the past 2 years is that it has turned from a demonstration into a Public event, couldnt afford it and they couldnt get any sponsors for it. But this year, McFit decided they want to be the main sponsor, so it is on again. It would be a shame for it to stop.
Im happy to hear the christening went well. Our priest originally said that he would do Ben's half English half German, but on the day, there wasnt one English word said. Was a bit dissapointing, but i suppose the ceremony was for Dh's family really, who dont speak English. Ahwell.

Hey there guys,
quick pop in to say gday! Things with Bonnie are a million times better now she is on the hyper-allergenic forumla.... she is thriving both in weight and is contented - FINALLY! What a hellish couple of months we had there.
She's 5 months next week - not rolling yet, but loves to stand, and I reckon will sit unsupported sooner rather than later. She's a busy body who likes attention, action and fun - not one to sit quietely playing by herself ;)
I can hear her crying to get up now, so I must go!
Sorry it's so short, will pop in again soon.
xx
-
Hi everyone,
its us - hello from Switzerland! Its so nice and warm here and so peaceful! We went to Germany for lunch today and yesterday we went to Austria which was also lovely.
Getting a tan YAY and Allegra has been pretty good considering i have dragged her across the globe. Flight went well thankfully - she is suffering from her teeth so much but she will be ok hopefully in a few days.
Anyway dinner is ready :) I'll log in again soon. We leave for Italy on Wednesday which should be fun - cant wait for some good food.. no offence to the Germans etc but they can design cars but there food is ordinary!
T and A xx
-
Teena- Yay....glad your having a great time, and glad to hear Allegra is doing well.
What's that about german food....I love German food (actually miss it).....hehehehe :D Suppose it depends what you grow up with and are use to :)
Have fun on the rest of your trip sweety!!!!!
Apple- That's great that Bonnie is doing well :)
Us- KAYLA SAT ON HER OWN LAST NIGHT AND THIS MORNING :D Yay for my little girl. She won't roll, yet she will sit, LOL.
-
Congratulations Nadine! Thats fantastic. Isnt strange how we feel so proud of our child (ren) when they do the "smallest thing" (according to non-parents). Lately Ben has started to hold his bottle by himself, dh and I are so proud of him.
The other day, on a visit to the physio, she mentioned Ben seemed like he was teething (he was sucking on both thumbs). I told her he doesnt have any teeth, but I thought one might come up soon. The next day, i noticed his bottom left tooth is poking through. So cute. Surprisingly he doesnt really seem to be "teething", the only symptom he has is a little bit of runny poo (and extra drool), but thats it. Maybe it comes a little bit later?? (the grumpyness??)
Teena - i really hope you are having a fantastic time. We had an extremely hot day (for western Europe that is) yesterday. Was about 35 degrees in some parts. the record was broken in the Uk for the hottest day. Not sure about Germany, i havent watched the German news this morning yet. I didnt leave the house yesterday, as soon as i stepped out i was soaking with sweat.
Emma - Ben loves to stand too! Im so glad Bonnie is really happy now.
-
no offence taken, Teena. German food is not really that great... though we know our bread, beer and sausages :D oh and cakes... yummm, apple strudle ...
yep, very hot here in London indeed... melting ... supposedly it was 52 deg on busses and 47 deg on the tube. apparently we also made Aussie news (I think they are making fun of the Brits - I know a 35 deg day is nothing special in Oz but over here it's a huge thing, apparently the weather cards didn't go past 32 deg in the UK and needed to be adjusted).
it's supposed to get a big cooler though which is good as Zara is not handling the heat very well at all... very whingey lately - or maybe something else is bothering her... hard to say
well, zara has been so 'grabby' that I have decided to try some solids. she had some apple puree yesterday and the day before and she seemed to really enjoy it. i have also given her a bottle of formula as I slowly want to cut down breastfeeds
Wolf has been very good with Zara lately - so cute. And she laughs her head off when he does silly things for her. I love it!
Nadine - yeah on Kayla sitting!! Woohoo! Zara can sorta sit but it's just her belly keeping her upright and not her stomach muscles I think (aka she leans forward) but I think she is not far from sitting properly soon
Emma - very happy to hear things are better with the new formula!
Katie - funny re, the priest. we had the opposite: Our priest asked me what she should say in English and I said just the greeting and then she ended up doing almost everything 50/50
Well, I better shower and go to the Diana Memorial Park with Wolf and Zara before it gets too hot!
Snowy
-
haha Snowy, isnt it so funny the Brits complaing about the weather. The other day i was talking to FIL, and he said "Victoria doesnt get hotter than it is now, does it?" I just laughed and explained that that particular day is normal in Summer in Oz. I sware it was only 30 degrees that day. He couldnt believe it. I walk around in jeans and a t-shirt, whilst everyone else is walking around in barely nothing, thinking im mental.
Im also obsessed with sunscreen, which im told is crazy. Our neighbours sit outside in the direct sunlight ALL DAY in their underwear, EVERY DAY, and here i am thinking they are crazy and stupid. I am so aware of skin cancer (after my mum had a scare), and sun stroke (after a stupid day at the beach a couple of years ago), i cant help but be outraged at some peoples careless sun behaviour.
I was watching BBC news yesterday, they reported they had hit the 35 degree mark, new record! I have only had one Australian Summer in 5 years, but i still laugh at the euro weather reports "Its going to be a warm one tomorrow, 15 degrees". classic. THEN you go back to Australian Winter to "OMG, it was 1 degree this morning!!".
-
lol
yes - I so know what you mean ... MIL called in April or May when it was so cold in Europe (low teens - remember?) and she was like "Oh, it's FREEZING here in Sydney" ... I looked at the weather on the web and it was 19 deg there ... lol. Told her to shut up that it was 16 deg here and the Brits were crackin out the T-shirts! :D
I know... Europeans are crap re. sunscreen. But then again you don't really burn in 1/2 hour as you do in Oz, so I think people are less worried (which is stupid as even without sunburn you can damage your skin). I think Australians have become super aware through lots of government campaigns (Slip Slop Slap) due to skin cancer being the largest killer in Oz now (though it is on the rise in Europe as well.. )
Our nanny is from Perth and she has stunned everyone here in UK and in Germany by wearing jeans throughout June. She only recently cracked out the shorts when the temperatures went above 30 deg.
I must say I LOVE this weather - it does remind me of Oz so much. Usually European summers are barely in the high 20s and then usually interspersed with a week of rain. But everyone around me whinges about how HOT it is... but if it cools down and rains they will be *****ing as well.. doh!
We went swimming today at the gym (no outdoor pool nearby - bummer). They have an open parent/baby swim every Wed/Fri & Sun from 3-4 p.m. We took Zara with us for the first time. I was worried as she never even liked bathing much but to my surprise she did not cry at all - even though the pool is only 27 deg (Wolf's babyswimming pool was heated to 35 deg - i.e. pee warm). She wasn't phased at all and just let us pull her through the water. She did not kick much but looked quite happy and curious. So cool! DH also went under water with her. (you blow on their face before you go under water to trigger the reflex that closes the gullet) She liked that too. She was so cute!
Wolf is a total pro in the water. He kicks really well now - I think when we are back in Oz in November I will take him to lessons at the pool in Manly. He also loves to stand on those foam kick boards. He can actually keep his balance! Maybe a surfer in the making? :D
Looking fwd to going again with both kids on Wednesday!
Snowy
PS
Zara is 5 months today! Woohoo!
Started her on fruit purees and she also grabbed some bread during dinner and I let her suck on it (think she did swallow some of it) - she loved it! So cute!
-
-
Happy 5 months for yesterday Zara. Ben is 5 months tomorrow. my goodness how time flies!
well, we leave for Munich tomorrow. Im worried we will forget something, and knowing me, I will take a whole boot load of unnecessary things (and our boot is HUGE).
Dh and I are going to start Ben on solids when we return from Munich. We are both looking forward to it (and im sure Ben is too!).
How is everyone? I hope you are all fit and healthy.
Nothing much to report, Ben's tooth is still ok, as far as we know, he isnt bothered about it. Yesterday he was really cranky in the morning, but after a bottle and nap, he was right as rain (thank goodness!).
Must go start packing.
Take care!!!
-
ohhhh, and i forgot to mention. Im down to my pre-pregnany weight!! Well, my old jeans still dont fit properly, BUT, i can do them up. But i have a bit to go until i reach my goal (65). You know, getting gallstones has seriously been a blessing in disguise. Now take-away and fried foods are definately not an option, otherwise i get serious pains in my stomach... SO, i think i will put off my operation for another month or so. If i eat healthy, they wont get in the way.
-
yeah on being back to pre=pregnancy weight!
I dunno what I weight I am right now but a few weeks back I was 2kg away from pre-Zara (which is 7kg away from pre-Wolf *sigh*)
-
YAY Katie for being beack to your pre- pregnancy weight :D
Was going to ask....where abouts in Germany do you live? What's the closest big city?
DH and I are planning on going over next year to visit relatives and just for a holiday, as he hasn't been there yet and I would like him to see where I lived. I also want to see other parts of the country I haven't yet seen etc. Anyway......would love to meet up with you if you were interested?
We haven't set the trip in stone yet, but it's definately a possibility.
-
Nadine, I live in Ibbenbüren (North-west Germany). If you look at a map, you might be able to see Osnabrück, which is 20 min drive from here. We are really close to the Netherlands border. I would love to meet up with you if you do end up coming. Im sure Ben will love to play with Kayla. I suppose the closest BIG city is Cologne (about 2 hours).
Well, we just returned home from Munich. We had a brilliant time!! Its so beautiful down south, i think we will try to return there again over new years. But, Petrol is so EXPENSIVE! I think we used 1 and a half tanks just to get there, and ended up spending about €300 on fuel, which is approx $550 or so. Stupid. We also went to Austria, that was wonderful! I feel so relaxed after it.
Ben was an angel. He now has both bottom teeth, and had his first solids today!
i hope you are all well!!!!
-
We're so quiet recently! I hope everyone is well and is enjoying their babies.
Just wanted to post quickly that we are heading to Germany for 2 weeks, so I won't be online much. We will also pick up the key for our swiss home.
Zara has been loving her solids. We've had rice with zucchini the last 2 days and she gobbled it up like it was going out of fashion. We've had potatoe and carrots, potatoe and broccoli, potatoe and cauliflower, potatoe and avocado and just plain potatoe. All been popular. She's a great little eater.
Today she rolled from her belly back onto her back - but whacked her head on the floor doing it and was very upset. I remember Wolf did that as well and it took a while before he could roll smoothly back onto his back.
She loves being on her belly. Everytime I put her down, she immediately rolls onto her belly and then kicks around like she is swimming on dry land or pushes her upper body up really high. So cute. She has also tried to lift her bum ... oh, it will be very stressful when she can move around!!! It's so nice at the moment to know that if I leave her somewhere, she will still be there when I get back (albeit in a slightly different position, lol) I think we will need to get the playpen out once she can move around so she doesn't get into Wolf's toys.

Hello there my Feb mummy buddies!
Can't believe it's been 2 months since I last logged in!
ANyway I'm now back work 2.5 days a week which has been interesting. Am having a bit of a drama there with the expressing and break times or lack of but will continue with pushing for what I'm entitled to. Kahlani is thriving Aand was 6.2kg (1.88kg at birth) and 63.5cm (44cm) at 6 months. She isn't fussed on rolling and will only go from tummy to back when naked on our bed. Night sleeping has been a bit of an issue until I made a GP appt and we then had 3 great nights in a row. Tomorrow DH and I are off to the footy so my mum will look after Kahlani.
Sounds like Zara loves those solids Julia!
Go those teeth Ben. Hope they didn't give you too much grief.
-
Hi guys, hope you are all well. I haven't been on in ages (started back work a couple of days a week). Anyway, I was wondering if any of you are having problems with separation anxiety. Its not when i go to work but when i put her down at night. she went from sleeping through (from 7 weeks) to crying until 3 or so in the morning. i know i've had a great run, i was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
cheers

Hello there my lovely ones and bubs!
We are in southern italy at the moment, in a small villiage called Gizzeria, where my FIL was born. We are having a wonderful time here in the warmth.. Allegra even has a bit of a tan, which is surprising because I slap on the sunscreen like there is no tomorrow.
Allegra is kind of sitting by herself now but always want to stand and move about! Johns cousin who is an orthopedic surgeon even said to me he was amazed at how strong her legs are... she even has a new name, Elvis because of her was her legs wiggle when she tries to stand.
Food is going well - the range here is amazing. In the shops there is Turkey, Procsuitto and legumes all available for babies. I dont know about the first two but she loves the legume puree! Im going to bring some home!
OK Ice cream is being served<!!!!! log in again soon
Love T and A xxx

Hi guys,
We were almost off the first page, so thought I better post. I've popped in a bit but havent had a chance to post.
All is well with us, Bonnie is doing really well. Has put on heaps of weight since her dramas with weight loss etc and it doing great. Her sleep is a million times better, and on a good night she feeds at 7pm, down by 8pm, then wakes for a feed at 5am, then back to sleep until 8am. I'm liking that!
She seems to have forgotten that a baby is meant to roll, but is sitting up quite happily. No sign of teeth yet. Oh and we start solids in a couple of weeks, at 6 months. Our paed told us to wait until 6 months because of allergies.
Teena - your holiday sounds divine, lucky thing!
Allison - g'day to you! See you Thurs.
Hope everyone is well,
em and bonnie xx
-
I started a reply yesterday but DH closed the window! Arg!
Teena - lol on the prosciutto purre... kinda sounds gross... to be honest...
Emma - yeah on the good sleeps! 8 - 5 is pretty much sleeping through.. cool! Zara wakes at 3 a.m. for a feed though I managed to get her back to sleep the other day without my boob... will have to try that more and more in the future as I want to night-wean her.
Well... I also wrote this huge vent about my ILs. MIL and SIL are kicking up a huge stink about our nanny and it's really upsetting me. I don't want to go too much into it as it is just too frustrating to think about it and write it all again... they basically don't want us to bring her to Oz because they feel like they can't be themselves with her around. So basically they want us to be inconvenienced so they can have their picture perfect 1 hour with our children when they can be bothered to pop around.... yeah, right. They seem to forget that DH and I have a business to run. Grrrrr

Hey Guys,
I had my gallstone removed last Thursday, but im feeling really well now. Hospital stay wasnt that bad, but i am so happy to be home.
Em - Bonnie is sooo gorgeous!
Dh's cousin had her baby 2 weeks ago. She had some problems, and ended up having to have a c-section. Little Bryan was born with a virus, and was too long in the birth canal, and ended up with a deformed skull. He is ok now, but they have to wait until he is a bit older before they know if he has suffered any brain damage. Poor bubba!! He is beautiful though, tiny features.
Ben stayed with the inlaws (dh's family) whilst i was hospital as Dh had to work. I wasnt happy at all about leaving him with them. Now that i have him home, his patterns are all over the place. Before i knew exactly what to do at exactly the right time. He would go to bed at 8pm, sleep straight away, wake at 9am, bottle, back to bed until 1pm. Then have another little nap at 4, and then awake until 8. At the inlaws, he didnt sleep until 10, wake up at 6am, up until 1pm, sleep for 30 mins, then up again until bedtime. He was always grumpy.. I hated not being in control. AGH! Well, its over now. HOPEFULLY i can get him back into a steady routine.
Inlaws hmph, right Snowy? Snowy, do what you need to do. And dont let anybody else upset you and go against your decisions. They should support you in anyway, whether they agree to it or not is their own buisness.
Ben is getting his third tooth though. Both bottom 2 are well and truely there, its so cute!
I hope this post finds you all well.
-
oh Allison - I meant to say that we have huge separation anxiety issues here... Zara can't be left alone much at all... and alone means without me... never alone alone... she always needs someone in the room... very clingy that girl.
hope the sleeping is improving!

Hello all!!
Well we are home finally :) The trip went well and we had a good but sometimes exhausting time. Allegra was thankfully an angel on the way home. Travelling 1hr from Lamezia (southern Italy) to Rome, a 3 hr stop in Rome and then a 1 hr trip to Milan, a 1 hour stop in Milan and then 7 hours to Dubai where we had an 8 hour stopover before a 13 hour trip back to Sydney!! It sounds exhausting but the 8 hour stop in Dubai was good as they put us up at the Le Meridien Hotel so we were able to sleep and shower etc.
Other than that - jet lag for Allegra has been a bit tiresome for me. The waking up every night has been a real drain but last night she was much better and she was heaps better today too - so fingers crossed the worst part is over.
My luggage is still missing. Stupid Airone in Italy left them at the airport on the way to Rome and as my connecting flight was the same day they were not able to get the luggage there in time as they only fly twice a day to Rome grrrrrrrr and it sat there for 4 days before they got their act together and sent it to Rome where it had to be sent to Frankfurt where it apparently still is... do any of the Germans live near frankfurt? If I dont get it back i'll cryyyyyyyyyyyyy all the pretty new things I got for Allegra are in my suitcase.
So we are back home and back into things. I am doing a Baby signing course on Tuesday which should be lots of fun. Allegra is clapping and sitting up so beautifully - she just makes my heart melt!
Hope everyone is well - I need a few updates please!!!
T and A xx
-
Teena- Glad to hear your holiday was successful. Bugger about your luggage. I hope it finds it's way safely back to you. Can't beleive Allegra is already 7 months. I remember getting the sms when she was born. Time fly's too quick. Athough it is such a cute stage (they all are).
Hey Jen, nice to see you in hear. Of course your welcome :) We aren't as chatty as we use to be, but hopefully that will change :)
Kayla is doing well. She had a UTI a few weeks back and we had to see a Kidney specialist to see if she had kidney reflux. The specialist said that they were not convinced she had a UTI to start with and goign by how she is doing and the examination they did (just feeling her tummy), that she doesn't have reflux. That was good news to hear.
She doesn't have any teeth yet, and the little bugger won't open her mouth for solids either, LOL. Cheeky girl :) I try her every day, and have tried veges, fruit, custard, farex, mixed, not mixed, before feed, after feed, between feeds, you name it, but so far it's the "get a smile and put spoon quickly in mouth" approach. If I am not quick enough she clamps it shut really quickly. I only give her a few tspns so she gets use to the taste. She will open her mouth when she's ready I guess.
She isn't sitting yet. Only every now and then for a few seconds but then topples over. She also doesn't take to rolling. Has done it 4 times, ages ago, but never since. She lays on her tummy and tries to push off with her feet to get a toy, so hope she doesn't work the crawling out first. Knowing my luck, she will........hehehe
