DH noted the other day that we have crossed over from the "holiday" period to the "living in Australia" period. So true.

snowy it was laser ablation op. i had to be knocked out for around 20mins or so and only had to hang around for another 1 hour afterwards. i had quite a few period like cramps and a little bleeding but otherwise not to bad except i got a bit of an infection in the muscle from where they put the needle it. so my arm was pretty sore for a week or so and got a bit swollen but these things happen.
oh yeah the aussie weather is a little weird heh?
sound like you are settling back in to aussie life ok. how long are you staying?

Oh Laser - my midwife mentioned that to me and my obgyn said he didn't believe in it (something about the edges where it is cut blablabla)... whatever.. I didn't need an operation back then afterall but who knows - I might need some surgery one day... so that sounds pretty okay then. Fingers are crossed for the next 9 weeks (do they do another pap or do they tell from the tissue cut out?)
We are here until the end of January - so a total of 10 weeks. I guess I shouldn't whinge about the weather seeing that it's much colder in Switzerland.

How is the feeding going? zara is into everything as long as she can shove it in her mouth herself. she loves grapes and peas and corn and all small things that go straight into the mouth. It's so cute.

Zara is back to just napping for 30 mins max. Bummer! It was so nice to have a 1-2 hour break from her... she is very demanding and I am just constantly running around with her as she wants to walk all the time (but still needs hands for that).
Zara has stood on her own a few times now. She let go without noticing and lasted a few seconds. So cool. Not long till she walks...

Ben is standing too. He climbs up everything, and is always standing. He seems to be very strong, now he pulls himself up to stand like it is nothing. everyone is so amazed how easy and fast ben stands up. He still needs to hold onto things.. But he is starting to move from table to chair etc... and he stands holding on with one hand. He lets go sometimes, but only lasts a few seconds, then falls on his bum. Its so cute. If someone told me he would be doing that at 9 months a few weeks ago, i wouldnt have believed it! and i seriously didnt believe the stories of babies walking at 10 months!!
Yesterday was brilliant. MIL mentioned that a lady she knows has a nephew who was in Oz for a year and his Aussie GF just moved over here to be with him for a year. she is the same age as me, and only lives 10 minutes away! So i got her number from MIL and had a chat to her, and invited her over yesterday. Her german BF came over too, it was so great to meet them both. We have arranged to meet up with them a few more times, so fingers crossed i have found a new friend (haha, that sounds so pathetic!).

Yes, happy 2007! Our bubbas are nearly 1 year.. thats really amazing! Been out of action lately, we have visitors from Oz staying with us, so its been go go go. We went to Berlin for a couple of days, got back yesterday, im so tired!
Ben is going really well. He now has 8 teeth, 4 bottom, 4 top. He doesnt like his bottle anymore, and hasnt been eating much lately, but i think its because of his teeth. He is growing so fast!
Our Xmas was good. Pretty quiet. New Years we went out to a party... the inlaws took Ben for the night, so that was nice.
Anyway, i cant write much, I cant keep my eyes open im so tired!

Hello everyone!
We're a quiet bunch, hey? Happy new year everyone. We went to the Opera House and saw the concert there and of course the 9 p.m. and midnight fireworks. Awesome! Best new years ever. Only downside was that we didn't get home until 3 a.m. and then the kids woke at 10 to 6 ... arrrrrrrrrrrrg. I had a headache the whole day. PLUS we had just gotten back from NZ on Christmas eve and we had the first flight out of Auckland, so the previous day we had gotten up at 2 a.m. Sydney time. So I have just been catching up on sleep the last few days. I have fallen asleep infront of the TV the last 4 nights (all before 10 p.m.) ... how sad is that?
Zara is just so mobile. Still bum shuffling her way around and getting fast at it too. She likes to walk heaps too and comes over and grabs my hands and wants to go for walks. I remember that so well from Wolf. You can't ever sit down somewhere in peace - she is just so full of beans! No wonder she doesn't put on any weight. She is still so tall and skinny. We had coffee the other day at a restaurant (Teena: Jellyfish of course) and this couple next to us asked how old Zara was. Their daughter was 1 month older than Zara and when we left DH heard the lady say to her husband " Gee, she is big!" ... I am sure she didn't mean BIG big but tall big as Zara is so skinny but she is about 76cm or so now and I remember Wolf wasn't quite 74cm when he was 12 months - she's tall alright.
On the teeth front: 2 at the bottom and no change so far. But my Kiwi friend said that she reckoned she was teething and that her gums looked swollen (I am never able to tell this stuff... how embarassing... and I'm her mom... )
She eats so much food, it's mind boggling. Fish and chicken and lamb and beef... as long as she can shove it in her mouth herself, she will have it. Wolf was still eating purees at that age and she is chewing through meat - incredible! I hope she stays a good eater, one picky eater is enough, lol.
SIL called yesterday to say she is pregnant with no.2 (no.1 is 15 months). Very excited. She is due in August. Speaking of babies: Anyone thinking of no. 2 yet? I am surprised no one is pregnant yet (then again we are just so few here in this forum now... ). Who will be "making babies" in 2007? Hands up? We will try for no.3 at the end of the year (so hoping for a European summer baby for a change... though maybe that's not so smart seeing as I've got so many new born winter clothes from 2 winter babies?)
Katie: yeah on the new friend. I can understand your excitement! I am feeling a bit lonely here in Oz - though the kids keep me busy enough... :D
Wow - 8 teeth! Ben is a really big boy, hey? If he doesn't like his bottle anymore, I would probably try weaning him of it then. Sounds like he is ready for it. Some kids self wean of bottles. Zara has 1 at night and 1-2 little ones (1/2 portion) during the day for naps. It's a bit of a lazy way of getting her to sleep but she won't take a dummy and otherwise she cries for ages and I hate to hear that.
Narelle: fingers crossed for the check up then. Colposcopy is weird isn't it? My specialist even took a digital photo of it... that felt weird... 'sure, take a piccie up my fanny' ... hmmm... I insisted on seeing it... though i must say a close up of your own cervix is rather weird...
I hope Aiden is over his gastro and that his teeth are coming through okay without too many sleepless nights. Are you giving him anything? I give my kids homeopathic globuli (Osanit - Katie might know it) and we've never had any problems and they didn't need anything else. Wolf actually loves taking them... I think he thinks they are lollies, ha ha!

Hey Snowy...aiden got over his gastro fine lucky is was just a bunch of yucky nappies. He now has 3 full teeth and 1 popping all on the bottom but i can see the 4 in his top through his gums. i use panadol or if he's really scratching at his gums and in really pain i give him painstop (under pharmacy guidance of course)
Colposcopy's are really weird i lie there and say to myself...think happy thoughts and forget someone is looking in your pounani!
We are now officially trying for #3 and maybe #4,would love twins this time...only cause DH says 3 kids are enough unless we get twins and i really want 4! everybody thinks im a little cuckoo! we have quite a few sets of twins on my side of the family and no body has any yet in our generation!
im glad you and katie both had good new years...i was in bed and fast asleep by 10.30pm!

RE: TTC. Well, Dh and i are thinking about TTC when i get back from Oz this year. It will be around October, maybe. We would really love 2 years age difference, but i dont think that would be possible. I dont want to travel back to Germany with a nearly 2 year old, pregnant. Snowy, i would love a Europe winter baby again. We also have boxes full of winter clothes.. PLUS, when i had ben i kept saying to myself i never want to be overdue in the summer... and i dont want to have leaky boobs with just a t-shirt on. But i think we dont really have a choice. Who knows though, things change all the time (inlcuding my mind).
Snowy, sounds like you had an awesome time in Sydney for New Years! And ive been thinking about weaning Ben, but i honestly really dont know what i think. Yea, Ben is pretty big. I cant believe he has 8 teeth! Yea, my new friend is really nice. Her Boyfriend gets along with DH really well too, which is a huge bonus.

Glad to hear Aiden is over his gastro. Yeah on (almost) 4 teeth and 4 coming. Zara seems to be getting the top teeth but I think with her the second ones (i.e. the outer ones? does that make sense) seem to come first rather than the ones directly in the middle.
Wow on TTC! I am actually the same way - I'd kinda like to have twins because I am worried my obgyn will advise me against a 4th kid after 3 caesareans. DH really wants 4. ANother boy and another girl, so each one has a brother and a sister. But hey... you can't pick these things anyway.
Did I mention SIL is pregnant with no.2 (DH's sister)? My other SIL (my brother's wife) is due with no.3 in March... it's raining babies in our family this year. Kinda weird to think we will be TTC in September or so this year...

Hey everyone, long time no see :)
i haven't been around at all lately as unfortunately my mum died from her ovarian cancer at the start of December, so its been a pretty busy and not much fun time. I'm doing ok and having Harry helps hugely with all that.
He is such a joy, really happy fun baby majority of the time, he finally got his first tooth on the 3rd of Dec and he got his second on Sunday, we have had no trouble with teething whatsoever they have just popped out which is lovely hope it stays that way.
He's been crawling for a few months now and now is into everything climbs the stairs, stands on everything and is just generally a little mischief maker :)
We were thinking of trying for a second now but with mum gone i think it will be to hard at the moment but i'm not using any bc so if it happens it happens otherwise i think we will actively try at the end of the year.
Can you believe our babies are nearly one, wow this year has flown, we are having Harry's first party at my parents farm nothing to big just close fam and friends.
Anyways think Harry is going to wake in a minute, sorry for lack of personals will pop back again soon and catch up then.

Oh Sarah:hug: , I'm so so sorry to hear about your mums passing. You must have had a horrible time (and still would be, of course!):frown: . I can imagine having smiling harry around would make things a bit easier.
I havent thought abour Ben's first birthday party yet. He really doesnt have any baby friends, so i think we might go to the Zoo with the family. Its on a Sunday, so it might be the best idea.
Dh is trying to talk me into going to Oz for only 3 weeks. He is terrified of me flying home alone with Ben. And honestly, i am a little too. But im afraid it might not be enough time to catch up with all my fam and friends.
Life here is a bit quieter now. Our Oz friends have gone traveling for 1 week, so we have the house to ourselves. I had a horrible day yesterday. the night before, dh told me it might be a good idea for us both to go on a diet. He wants me to be the weight i was when we first met (around 57kg). I would love to be that again, but then i realised, WOW thats almost 20kgs i have to get rid of (im now 74). Scary. Anyway, Yesterday was the beginning of my period, so emotions running all over the place, i had a bit of a cry (more like a LOT of a cry). But its all good now. I know its not that big of a deal, but i was kinda just ignoring it, thinking it wasnt important to him or me, but i now realise that it is. So goodbye chocolate, hello carrot sticks :frown:
:grouphug: Sarah im so so sorry to hear bout your mum. it's so very lucky that she got to meet her beautiful grandson harry but also would have made it unbearable to have to leave. my love and thoughts are with you and your family. life without mum will never be the same but she will watch over you all and give harry all the extra love from above :hugs: .
I can't believe the kids 1st birthday's are coming up so fast. Aidens birthday is in 24 days OMG i've got him nothing! we will just the family birthday...a bit too young for a shin dig in my opinion...like katie said aidens got no real bubba friends yet.
Zara starts 3 year old kinder on feb 5...im worried how I will cope without her, mind you it's only 2 hours once a week. im such a sook i don't wont her to grow up so fast she's such a great kid.
Aiden 4 top teeth a soooo visable through his gums i hope they all don't come at once.
Katie...me too on the whole weight thing. i would love to lose bout 10kg before getting pg again...so i will miss the chocolate too. im trying to cut back but have to get rid of all the bad stuff 1st out of the pantry...SENDING LOTS OF SKINNY VIBES YOUR WAY!

Sorry for being so slack everyone.
Sarah - I am also very sorry to hear about your mums passing. I know only too well how hard it is to lose a parent. Its been 17 years since I was able to hug my dad and well, I dont need to tell you what its like with out them. I also feel so much for her. Ovarian Cancer is such a horrific disease. I was on the Ovarian Cancer fundraising committee and it was one of the best things I have ever done. May God grant eternal rest on her soul.
In other news, Allegra is one very soon. I cant believe how fast it has gone. She is crawling around still but desperately trying to stand. She has had a few falls but I guess you get that. She is a little chubber too :)
We are having a birthday party on Australia Day. Its the nearest day off to her Birthday and also my inlaws anniversary so it will be a good day. Ive bought heaps of pink things and we have been working at cleaning up our yard. its such a mess as we have done nothing for years! DH and I normally opt for another holiday rather than outdoor renos!
Baby - well we were thinking of trying end of the year but it will now be December/Jan to start. I am Matron of Honor in December and My SIL and our cousin both getting married in Jan. So I want to be free of any morning sickness and well, I want to be able to enjoy all the bachelorette functions!!! So we will postpone for three or four months which is no big deal.
Weight. hmmm i'm tyring to get back to wedding weight! I am back to pre pregnancy weight but have 5 kgs for wedding weight although everyone is telling me it was too thin so I will see how I go. I am trying to tone at the moment and then take it from there. Have bought an excersize bike and treadmill for home so thats my start. I hate going to the gym as I would have to leave Allegra in the creche or have a babysitter which becomes a pain if I want to go every second day.
OK - Allegra is wanting bed. Be on again soon

Sorry I haven't been in. BB has been a pain to load lately. it always freezes on me and I end up getting the ****es and giving up, LOL :) I think the server they changed to isn't too kind on dial up.
Kayla and I are doing well. Kayla is crawling, pulling herself up on furniture, says mama, dada, nana, nigh nighs (well tries to), once said ba for bath and her new vocal thing is when I say "what nosie does a puppy dog make?" she makes a woof woof noise with her mouth shut. She thinks she is very clever and we are very proud :D
She is 10.5kg and 82cm (approx). Yes she is a tall girl!
TTC- We will be trying for bub #2 in August this year.
Can you believe our babies will be ONE very soon....... time has just flown by!We will be having a BBQ for Kayla's birthday. I think 30 or so people are going to be invited. As long as it doesn't rain, we will be fine. Hmmm never thought what we would do if it were to rain.......
Weight- I am currently trying to get down to my prepregnancy/wedding weight. I have 4 or 5 kg to loose, so not overly much, but I tell you it's damn hard. I am using a site called Calorie King and it helps so much. You put in your weight and height. It then gives you a range of what your weight should be ie. mine at 170cm should be anywhere between 58 and 75kg. I am heading for 58 (what I was). It asks you what your target weight is and calculates what your daily calorie intake should be. You then put in everything you eat/drink of a day (it has a search button and has all brands of everything on the system).
My diet is very low in carbs and ofcourse fats. I have never eaten much junk, but I love my pasta etc, so the carbs were a prob for me. It was hard at first to cut down, as I still felt hungry, but my body is use to it now.
I am currently back to riding my stationary bike at home. Teena, if we lived closer to one another we could be exercise buddies :) I am also plannign on goign back to swimming. Maybe when DH gets home of an afternoon.

Kayla had a few days there where she didn't want to go to sleep on her own. We had to sit on the floor next to her cot (not looking at her) untill she fell asleep. It didn't take her long but it wasn't like her at all.
Monday she went to sleep herself again which was good.
Last night though she woke up at midnight screaming. I think it's her teeth bothering her. I gave her panadol and put som gel on her gums and had to rock her to sleep in the chair. Poor thing :(
Other then that we are good. She is 10.6kg (got her weighed yest) and is 80cm (my measurements I did were slightly out. I thought she was taller)
What is everyone doing for their bubbas first birthday?
We are having a BBQ and finger food her at our place. Just family and close friends but that is already 32 people or so plus kids. I just hope it doesn't rain! Then on Kayla's actual birthday I will do something with mothers group.

So our bubba's are almost one!! I just did a quick review over previous posts, and it sounds like things are generally good, which is great - and people are talking TTC again!
We are thinking about ttrying from around July onwards... I'd prefer to have a baby in April onwards next year, but you never get that much say hey!
Bonnie:
Well we have had a rollercoaster of a year with little Bonnie - mainly food allergy/intolerance related, but we are getting there! I'd love to be able to feed her anything and everything like all the othre babies, but it's a slow road. We had to go back to the basics as she was waking several times a night screaming for 1.5hours a time, and I figured it was food realted. She's been much better on the eilimination diet, so now it's back to introducing foods one at a time, over a week each time - its' so slow and it feels like I have a 6 mnth old again! Good news is she passed wheat, means she can have bread etc.
Bonnie is still feeding once most of the time at night, the other half of the time she "sleeps through" but we are still up with the dummy a couple of times! At least she isnt screaming as much at night now.
She's started letting go of the furniture and standing no hands for ages, which is scary! And today she started standing up all on her own, without holding onto something (ie: from sitting!) So I dont think walking is too far off! That will change things!
For her b'day we are having a big party in the park which will be nice. I figure her following birthday's can be kept smaller.

Apple, it is so great to hear form you again!! Im so sorry you had (and still are having) a horrible time with Bonnie's allergies. Poor little munchkin :frown: But thats fantastic she passed wheat!
Ben is standing alone too. But only until he realises that he isnt holding onto anything, and then he freaks out a little and looses balance. So its a confidence thing. He LOVES using his musical walker, he runs around the house, but hasnt got the hang of turning yet. So, walking alone is soo close!
For Ben's first birthday we are taking him to the Zoo. Its an "all weather" Zoo, so we dont have to worry if its raining. He loves animals, and his b'day falls on a Sunday, so we are going with a few family members. I will make him a special baby cake. One of my baby books has a special 1st birthday cake recipe that i might try out. I'm really looking forward to it!!
Good news too. Dh has finished his first qualification (in business.. snowy, Industriekaufmann) and passed with a final result of 94%. His boss was so impressed with him, he gave him a bonus and dh got a promotion. He is now Manager of one of the areas of the company. I am so proud of him. He is now half way through his Uni degree in Business... yay!
First snow fell last night. It isnt much, but im so excited... It's supposed to snow tomorrow (properly).
Gotta go and call my dad. I hope everyone is happy and healthy!!

Wow, its been a long time, but i suppose ive been refelcting on you Feb ladies lately coz all our bubs are (or have - happy birthday Allegra) turning 1 !!!!
Time flies doesnt it? Sophie isnt walking yet, she's only just mastered crawling. But then she doesnt have to do much of that, coz Emalee (DD#1) just gives her what she initially is crawling to anyway - LOL.
I havent been on BB much - last few weeks i have - but just getting on with life i guess. Back in Oct work asked me to work for them for till end of xmas. I could choose my own hrs and days. So i ended up working 4 hrs a day, for 3 days a week. Im still breastfeeding, and the whole reason i left this job was to be at home with the girls......so here it is feb and im still here. Although now im only 2 days a week, 4 hrs a day. I usually start at 830-1230. Mum and DH help out....its not really for the money, just gets me a tweeny glimpse back into the workforce....
Sophie is a bundle of joy..........im still b/f as i said about 3 times a day (i want to wean her at 12 months, always have, but think she will have other ideas....she loves her booby).She says 'muma' and 'dada', she tries to say 'emmy ' - her sister - but we havent mastered that yet. Seems to know what 'NO' means...but flutters her eyes and gives a cheeky smile and attempts to do whatever she isnt supposed to be doing...again !We've been really lucky with her at night. I put her in at 7pm and hear her singing again at around 730am....honest. It would be months, and months since i last got up for her. She still has her two sleeps a day ....
Not much else to report...except that im PREGNANT. Major surprise ladies, and KAYDEE you bugger, stop laughing. Im on mini pill and b/f but that all went out the window didnt it!!!! We hadnt really planned on 3.....i mean i always wanted 3 but DH was happy with his two girls, and at this present moment i wasnt going to push it.....but fate had other ideas !!! Im about 6-7 weeks and at that queasy stage. I had my first chuck the other day. Not good, especially when you have two littlies to look after....mmm anyway ladies. I have read the past few posts. I love hearing what your little ones are looking like and up to. And it looks like a few of you are planning #2. I must say i love, love the age gap b/w Emalee and Sophie (29 months). I fell pregnant with Soph when emmy was 20 months. Even now its easy with emmy, she tends to entertain herself....There will be a 19 month age gap b/w sophie and this little one, so thats a bit scary. Its taken me a while to get my head around being pregnant again....at first i didnt believe it (denial), but we're SLOWLY coming around.

Looks like i will be heading home in June this year, not August as planned. I cant wait. I might go for 8 weeks. Dh will follow after his exams. Im really looking forward to seeing my family again, i miss them soooooooo much!
Something is bothering me. I might be making a big deal out of nothing... Tell me if i am. Dh and I planned (as you all know) to go with the family to the Zoo on the 25th (Ben's bday). We told the great-Omas, but we hadnt seen Dh's parents for a few days, so didnt get to tell them. I looked on their calander, and there was nothing written on it apart from "free", meaning MIL is off work that weekend. Here's me thinking "oh thats nice that she took off Ben's birthday!". Last night we got a call from MIL saying that she heard we wanted to go to the zoo on the 25th with the family. She then told us that her and FIL cant come because they have a friend's birthday party to go to all day (from 11am - early evening). I was pretty angry that they chose the friend's birthday over their only grandchild's first birthday. I'm making a special cake and everything. And honestly, i though 4 weeks was more than enough notice to give them... and they were talking like "well, you should have told us earlier!". aghhhh. Please tell me im making a big deal out of this, its making my blood boil.

Katie - sorry to hear about your inlaws. I would be bringing it up with them seriously and make sure DH sticks with you. It is just unacceptable for them to chose their friend over their grandchild and I for one would be very angry. Hope it works out honey xx

Well, not such news for me. Have been busy lately with so much on. Allegras birthday and party being number one. My brother is also very sick and needs so much care which is a little draining.
I'm going to be matron of honor in december so I am helping my friend with wedding plans at the moment which is heaps of fun! I love weddings. They are so much fun to organise and such a happy time yay.
Its my 30th next week. Thats another piece of news!!! getting to be an bag xx

Congrats mbear...ive just found out. so very happy for you all. maybe this time its a boy and thats why it happened so easy...who knows, but i hope you don'ts get too sick.
kaydee....mad mad mad...maybe change your plans and organise a huge party, really go all out and don't tell them until after the event. that will really put there noses out.
it's aidens 1st birthday 2morow and my in laws haven't made any sort of contact since xmas. we are just having dinner at home for my folks and my brother, sil & nephews but they have been hassling me a month to know what we are doing for his birthday. i dont think i should call my in laws as they are just simple not interested.
im also a bit annoyed with DH...dh told them about my op and i hadnt really told anyone except for my family. MIL kept hounding me about my op and results...im pretty convinced she sees this as an easy way to get rid of me to DIE! ***not that i am*** she has never spoken to me so much in 11 years as she did as xmas time but she wasn't asking nicely she was really quite nosey and ive now found out she's told other people. im pretty mad...lets hope i never have to see them again...oh that would be the ideal world.

Happy belated birthday to all the ones I have missed (Allegra, Kahlani, Aiden). I have meant to post more but the last week in Oz was crazy with seeing everyone who we didn't get to see the first 10 weeks (typical) and on top of that Wolf got tonsillitis and then Zara and Damien got it. (so maybe a good thing we didn't get to catch up, Teena - I would have felt horrible if Allegra had gotten it). The funny thing is that the doc said, that it's not contageious as it is a bacterial infection and unless you share drinks / body fluids, you don't pass it on (and even if you do share drinks the chance was slight). But Zara is so "grabby" and has had zips from Wolf's drinks and BOOM. Poor princess. She has not been well since and still has a monster diarrhea at the moment. When we saw the doc (who said it was'nt contageious) he said he had NEVER seen a case where 3 family members had tonsillitis. Oh well... seems that we are a family that shares a lot of drinks / body fluids... *blush* well.. I didn't get it and I certainly share a lot of fluids / drinks with my kids. Wet/sloppy kisses from my kids or goobered on left over food that they lovingly shove in my mouth (or I can't be bothered to take to the bin and eat), drinks, you name it and I didn't get it. While DH is so careful not to share anything with the kids and then when Wolf seemed to be over it he shared a milkshake with him at the cafe (yep, Teena, Jellyfish) and sure enough he got it 2 days later.
So sorry Teena for not popping by for Allegra's birthday, but like I had said before, it was pretty hectic and I spent the last 48 hours in Oz packing madly and cleaning up our place. DH's sister has now moved in / is housesitting, which is her first chance to move out of home. I think she is very happy at our place / having her own space.
ANyway... the first week back here in Switzerland has been a shocker with Zara having really awful diarrhea. Not sure if it's a bug, a side effect of the antibiotic or whatever but it's made her so sore, she is actually bleeding now. Poor thing. I will have to try to give her some more naked time - which is hard here in winter...
Mbear - congrats on the pregnancy. Yucky re. the morning sickness. Hope it will pass soon. DH and I are actually tossing up when to have no.3. Part of me thinks that it might not be too bad to have no.3 this year and the other part thinks that I should really try to lose those last 4-5 kgs and do a triathlon before falling pregnant again.
Kaydee - oh boy, I'd be mad! It's their only grandchild and they'd rather see a friend? Hmmm... their priorities seem a bit warped. Well,maybe they can go either in the early morning or in the late afternoon or something, depending on what your plans are?
Narelle - arrrg on MIL and your operation. I hate it when people think they can tell the whole world about your health problems. As if someone's cervical dysplasia is dinner conversation... but i've found the same thing. Unfortunately... but it seems to be my mom who blabs it on to anyone who will listen. I mean not only my dysplasia but also when Zara had the twisted foot my mom told the whole world that my daughter had a clubfoot (which she didn't) and since then I have had so many people ask "oh HOW is Zara" (in THAT tone... )arrrrrrrrrrrg... I think some people like the attention they get with that stuff...
Zara's birthday soon... not sure what we are doing. We will be at my mom's place on the day, so probably just a family do. Maybe my brother can come with his kids and that's already 4 kids that way (or 5 if their no.3 is born before then)

Snowy - I so understand where you are coming from. Allegra's foot was also twisted and it went from being twisted and needing some short term physio to people thinking she had a clubfoot too... I wish people would sod off sometimes!
MBear - Yay big congrats thats great news even though its a shock :)
Kaydee- I would be very peed off, i have similar issues that none of hubbys family are coming (they do live a while away though but with cheap airfares etc and the fact that it is the only grandson) i thought they would make the effort, i'm not having much now for Harry, i can't be bothered really sounds awful but with mum not around i'm not in the mood to do something big so we are just having close family and a couple of friends.

Snowy Hope Zara is feeling better now its awful seeing them sick.
Us- Well we now have a walker :clap: he started walking last week and its amazing how much better he is now after just a week, it was so exiting! I love it when they reach new milestones :)
Have also had another tooth come through, he now has 2 on the bottom and 1 on top, the first 2 we didn't even realise they just popped through no hassles this last one he has been a bit more grumpy about but the bonjella seems to be working.
Well i'm off to the gym so better go, hope everyone is great!?

I can't wait till Kayla can walk. 1st reason is so I can buy her shoes, hehehe and 2nd reason is because I won't have to carry her around "all" the time. She is getting quite heavy.
Kayla has 1 new word............ Adam (dh's name). She must have picked it up from when I have said it. Oh and when you ask her what noise a cat makes she makes a meow sound. Her meow is with her mouth closed. Like a high pitche "mmmm" . It is quite cute :)
cant believe some babies are walking already !!!! Sophie LOVES standing on her feet, and constanly wants me to hold her hands whilst she bops up and down, but she still seems so small to walk
narelle - grrr at your MIL. I cannot believe they havent seen their grandchildren since xmas. Well, as i say about my in-laws, they are the ones missing out. Your children are not. Whilst its the inlaws that dont bother to see their grandchildren now, it will be your children in a few years time whom cant be bothered to go and visit them. Their time will come.
Snowy - wow a triathalon b4 falling preggers. Now thats a goal. Im sort of over the shock now. Im 32 in May, and always wanted my children b4 i turned 33, so i guess that goal has been achieved. Its nice for me to think this time next year my pregnancy days are over....dont get me wrong, i truly lurvvvvvvve being pregnant, but in a way i want to start moving on to the next stage of life - kwim?

Teena - yay on turning 30. I actually would prefer to be 30 than 20! I dunno, i think at 30 you have an idea where your life is heading......your content. does that make sense.....?I hope you enjoyed your 30th birthday celebrations anyway.

mbear - great point bout the in-laws! ive said just that bout them missing out now but never had i though that its the kids who won't want to see them in the future. i had a great relationship with one set of my grandparents and couldnt wait to see them but they other set, mainly my nana (oh and they lived across the road), i rarely saw her. I saw my pa heaps cause he's come over to our place my not her. tell me why do some people act this way? i thought having grandchildren would be a joy? somepeople just can't help themselves hey!

thanks everyone for reassuring me that i wasnt being selfish bout the inlaws. turns out the other day MIL called Dh and asked if we wanted to come over to their house after the Zoo on Ben's birthday for coffee and cake. I said to Dh no way. I explained that i wanted to avoid having to "host" so i could enjoy the day with my son and not worry about anything. And Ben is my son, not hers, there is no way im letting her take over.
THEN after a big confusing "what the heck do we do" converstation we got nowhere. THEN I said that a few family and friends can come over after the zoo for a little party. BUT dh told MIL that we agreed not to go the the zoo at all, and just have people over at our house. aghhhhhh! It's just that, Ben is at home every day, and i wanted to go out and do something different for his birthday, so that we will remember it... I'm annoyed, but what can i do. It's not about me, It's about Ben.
Ben is going well, still only walking with his walker, but he is so fast! I cant wait till he can walk not holding onto anything. Nadine, like you, i just dont want to have to carry Ben everywhere! and the shoes part im looking forward to aswell!
Today we are going to see a parade, Im looking forward to it, its nice and sunny today.
All our babies are 1 now (and i know this, because Ben was the LAST to arrive!!)! That's amazing! Happy birthday to all bubbas, and i hope you ALL had a wonderful birthday!

Well after all the excitement about shoe shopping, Kayla hates shoes. Not adult ones but ones for her. She won't go near the ones we have here. We haven't bought any yet, they were hand me downs. They have velcro fastening so maybe it is the noise but then I am not sure. She doesn't mind the velcro on her toys etc...........
Anyway, another hurdle to overcome.
The other hurdle is cows milk. She won't take to it either. So MCHN has given me sachets of follow on formula from Heinz to use in the meantime. I didn't think she would like it because she is on Nan, but to my suprise SHE TOOK IT. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!
MCHN weighed and measured her when we were there. She is now 81cm (only grew 1 cm in the last 5wks, thank goodness) and weighs 11.1kg.
Kayla has her immunisations tomorrow. So not really looking forward to that. The good thing though is that my GP gets a nurse in to help her. So they both do a needle in each leg at once. I think the 12mth needles are 3 though???? So she will have to get jabbed twice (better then three times though).
So when is everyone TTC again (if you are)????? (That excludes you Mbear ;))
nadine - have you tried 3/4 formula 1/4 milk for a few days, then 1/2 and 1/2 for a few days and 1/4 formula 3/4 milk and then full milk. this is how i did it with both zara and aiden because they wouldn't have it otherwise and it worked a treat
aiden is 82cm and 12.4kg and had no worries with needles...just a quick cry when he got jabbed and yes it's 3, one in each arm and then one in leg!!!!
TTC #3 at present...just got the final ok back from my gyno so now im full steam ahead...but i don't really want to concieve until june or after...i don't was a xmas or new year bub!

Sophie is going for her shots tomorrow too - yes nadine, its 3 shots. Im not looking forward to it either. Her little face is just going to crumble. Ive got DD#1 this year too (4 year old shots), i think that might be a wee bit worse.
Nadine, have you tried the soft shoes.....??? they dont have a hard soul. Is she walking yet? Sophie got some osh kosh ones for xmas. She wears them all the time. She's not walking yet, but i did try some velcro hand me downs on her today, and she finched and squealed also when i popped them on her feet.....she couldnt crawl with them on either. So i will just stick to the soft ones.

WOW how big are everyone's babies! Zara is tiny compared to that! And there I was thinking she is tall for her age. Zara was measured and weighed one day before her birthday and measured 76cm and weighed 8.69kg. It still makes her borderline underweight but there is not much I can do. She eats like a horse and still has a bottle at night of 240ml but she just doesn't put on weight. I will keep her on formula for another year I think. I switched Wolf on his 1st birthday straight to cows milk in a glass cause he was always solid, but with that skinny little princess I would feel bad to do so.
Well, we had a quiet birthday with just my parents. We were going to have my sister-in-law over with her kids (or alternatively go to their place) but she was having contractions and ended up in hospital that night. She didn't have the baby until yesterday though. (Lucky... I would have felt bad for Zara if she had to share her birthday with her cousin - that would have been one endless debate about where the grandparents had to go each year on the 23rd)
Zara is walking lots but I haven't bought "proper" shoes. I bought her some boots with a rubber sole seeing that it's pouring rain here and the soft shoes she had got soaking wet in this weather. She loves her shoes. I think we will go get her some real shoes soon. Maybe when Nonno is here (DH's dad) as he also was there for Wolf's first pair of shoes. Might be a nice sentiment.
We have just been so unlucky healthwise lately. After both the kids had tonsillitis in Australia, Zara came down with diarrhea, then Wolf came down with it, then Zara got it AGAIN. And it was a really nasty one with vomitting and watery poos that went through ALL the layers of clothing (and there is a lot of layers in winter in Switzerland) 5 times alone in the a.m. I was doing 4 loads of washing every day. Then I got struck down by it and got quite badly dehydrated. Ended up having the shakes and unable to get up. DH got some electrolyte stuff and that helped a lot but man, did I feel bad for 24 hours. After drinking 2 l of that stuff, I still didn't pee for the next 18 hours. Scary. Well, finally their stool went hard again and I was breathing a sigh of relief when suddenly Zara broke out in a high fever. It was 39.5 on Saturday and then reached 40.5 on Sunday. Ended up at the children's hospital with her because i was so worried and it turns out she has an ear infection. Poor thing. I get home and my mom tells me Wolf has a fever. So Monday morning he is at 39.7 and I'm at the paed. Influenza. Great. So everyone is feverish, cranky and clingy and I feel like I'm coming down with something myself. *sigh*
Sorry for the bigh whinge but it's just like we are cursed at the moment. We have just been sick non stop for the last 5 weeks!
ANYWAY
hope everyone is well... and as to baby no. 3... I think I will start seriously thinking about it in June! Oh that's so close! Just 4 months!
