Narelle- I have tried half and half and she didn't take it. She will take 3/4 formula and 1/4 cows milk though. So we have been doing that atm. Will try her on half and half again soon.
mbear- No we haven't tried soft shoes yet. I will be going out and buying some though. Kayla doesn't walk yet so it isn't a biggy, but I would like her to get use to them. She will definately need to be wearing shoes in winter, LOL.
Snowy- Oh your poor things :( You really have had a rough trott with being sick. Hope everyone gets well real soon!!!!
-
Oh Snowy, sorry you have all been so sick, it must be awful!!
Quick Q -How much are your bubs drinking now? Harry likes cows milk but has dropped it a lot to what he was having, he drinks water and watered down juice as well but i'm wondering if what he is drinking is enough?
Shoes - We bought H some soft soled shoes for his birthday and he hated them to start with, he wouldn't walk with them just lay on the floor and tantrumed, but i left them on and he got over it after a bit and forgot about them.
Measurements - Harry is 10.1 kilos, 78cm long but he was squirming the whole time so i'm not sure how accurate they are but that puts him right where he should be so thats good.
We have to take him for his immunisations next week poor bubba, he got his first runny nose the day after his birthday so i'm waiting till that clears up till we go.
He walks like a champ now so cute and he has started to point and say Dhere (there) so Andrew says where's mama and he points and says Dhere :) not always perfect though sometimes i am the fridge or the rug hehe
As for next bubs we are on no birth control now but my period is still wonky from when i was on it so once that figures itself out we might start trying will just see what happens.
Good to see you all around, hope the bubbas are well!?
-
Good to hear from you Sarah :D Glad you and Harry are doing well!!!
Kayla had her immunisations at 1pm today. She got one in each leg (done at the same time. Our GP did one and the nurse the other) and one in her arm. She did a delayed cry. She looked at them as if to say "now why did you do that" and then cried. poor Bubba. She only took a minute to calm down, so not too bad. She is asleep now, so we will see how she goes.
The dr said that the MMR can have delayed reactions and that she can get the reaction anywhere from now up untill 7-10days time. 50% of babies get a fever (no higher then 38.5), so we will see what happens.
-
Ben had his shots a few weeks ago. Afterwards he was so sleepy, he practically slept for 3 days straight. Had a fever of about 38, and we kept in contact with the doc just to make sure it was all normal. Poor bubba.
i dont know if i mentioned this but 3 weeks ago Ben was 75cm, and 10.4kg. Is Ben a short baby? oh no, must take after his mummy!! Poor thing.
Isnt walking alone yet, he took about 3 steps alone today though, not long now!
Wilson. Ben isnt drinking anywhere near the amount he was on formula. he doesnt like milk too much, but he will drink it when he is thursty. He HATES water, and will throw the cup at me if i dare swap his milk or watered down juice for it. we normally give him 50/50 water juice, and milk with meals, and at night before bed (about 180ml).
Snowy - soon it will be warmer and i hope the warmer weather brings your family better health. You really havent had much luck. I hope you are all feeling better now!
Mbear - how are you?????? Hows your morning sickness going?
-
Katie- Aww poor Ben :( Kayla was a bit irritable for the next two days. Seems ok now though. Although since the needles she has been fussing more to get to sleep. Think she may be teething aswell though. She is dribbling heaps. Woohoo on the steps :D Definately won't be long!
Drinking- Kayla won't drink cows milk or toddler formula, so we are still on her usual formula. I make it up with half formula and half cows milk atm so hopefully we can soon move to 3/4 cows milk 1/4 formula. She still has three bottles a day (before each sleep) around 180-200ml in each, plus she drinks around 200ml+ of water a day. She loves her water which I am glad about. Especially in the hot weather.
Shoes- We bought Kayla some robbeez yesterday. She didn't like it when we tried them on. Poor thing was shaking, but didn't cry hysterically like with the others. So I will try them on her when she wakes up and see how we go..........
Height and length- Kayla is 81cm tall and weighs 11.1kg
How is everyone's bubs going with their verbal skills?
Kayla says: Mum, dada, Adam (dh's name), ta, heio (hello), nana, nei (no), aya (Kayla)
and she makes animal sounds with her mouth shut. SHe does the sounds of a dog, cat, cow, monkey, and smacks her lips for a fish.
-
Hi Guys,
I haven't been around for a while, though I do pop in to see what everyone is up to and by the time I've finished reading the posts I don't have time to add anything!!
Hope all of the babies and mum's looked back fondly on what we were doing this time last year - they grow so fast!
Seth is going well. He is walking on his own (not perfectly, but trying really hard!) and at the moment he has hand, Foot and mouth disease from day care (he goes three days a week whilst I work). He's not too bad though and only has a few spots and isn't overly grumpy, he's nice and cuddly which is good for a change!
Seth stopped drinking his formula at around 11 months and I gave him yogurt and cheese instead and only recently he has started drinking cows milk - maybe 50mls a day before bed - he's definately a solids man! He loves meat (rissoles, ravioli, spag bol) and any fruit he can get his hands on!
He isn't talking as much as Blake did at the same age (probably can't get a word in!) but he seems to copy phrases. He says (what sounds) like 'Look at that' and 'my blankey' and 'Hello Daddy' and 'There it is'. He can also point to his nose and and ears and is learning eyes and he loves to do the twinkling fingers of twinkle little star :)
He is a beautiful natured little boy but I wouldn't want to cross him - he has a temper like me!! If he doesn't get what he wants he'll let you know quick smart!!
Well, that's about it - except.....I'M PREGNANT!!!!!! :happyforyou: I was coming to joint the TTC forum ( this was our first month trying) yesterday when I tested (only 10DPO too) and got a :bfp: I have since done about 5 tests and all came up the same so I think it might be real!!!! I have an appointment this afternoon to get the blood test so will let you know what happens from there...looks like November is going to be a big month for me!! This will be the third grandchild this year for my mum - she's going to be stoked!
I can't stop looking at the pregnancy test - just doesn't feel real yet!
Seth is up - best go get him ready for the Dr. Just one question first...are your little ones having one or two sleeps a day? I have recently changed Seth to 1 sleep (usually around 12 - 3pm) as he doesn't get to sleep until around 10:30 or 11am and it just wasn't working as I would have to wake him for lunch. He then sleeps from 7pm to 7am at night. Just wasn't sure if I should be trying to get him into two sleeps or one sleep.
thanks guys - keep well!!
xxxx
-
CONGRATULATIONS Sorka :D
Poor Seth having hand, foot and mouth :( Hope it clears for him real soon.
-
CONGRATS SORKA!! WOHOOOOO!
Well, Ben is sleeping 2 times a day. From about 10.30 - 11am until about 1-2pm. And then goes down again at about 4 -5 for about an hour. Ive TRIED to change it to only one nap after lunch, but Ben has a hard time making it that long. I'll just let him sleep when he is tired. He sleeps from 7.30pm to about 8-9am. He is a really good sleeper, and i think he looks forward to going to bed! He is so active all day, on the go all the time, no wonder he needs his sleep!
-
Congrats Sorka that is fantastic :)
Harry has 2 naps still, in the morning he goes down at 9am and he sleeps till maybe 10:30-11am and then at 1pm-1:30pm he goes down for his second nap usually till 3pm ish and then he goes at 6:30pm -7pm and stays down till the morning...
Not much new here, had my mil staying for a few days which was nice took her to the airport this morning and Harry adored the planes he kept running around pointing and yelling Dhere (there) at them very cute.
He hasn't been immunised yet as he had a runny nose and its hung around for a bit but dimetap has worked so hopefully next week i'll be able to go and get him done!!
Hope everyone is great?
-
Sleep- Kayla generally has two sleeps a day, but she has had the odd one sleep a day.
Normally though she wakes around 7am (that's when I get her up) and she will go down for her first nap at around 9:30-10am. For this sleep she sleeps anywhere from 40min to 1.5hrs. Then in the afternoon she will go down around 2:30pm and sleep anywhere from 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs (the odd 3hr sleep has happened too).
I guess once she starts going down later for her first nap (around 11:30/12pm), she will then only have one nap a day.
-
Oh forgot to say that Kayla has finally excepted to drink half water half cows milk :happyforyou:
As you know she was very attached to her formula and I got it down to 100ml water with 100ml of cows milk and one scoop of formula. So today I left that scoop of formula out and she drank it. As you can tell I am quite pleased, hehehehe :D
-
thats great news Nadine!
Ben has been really sick, vomiting over everything. I had no idea babies can have so much in their stomachs! So.. the washing machine has been running non-stop for the past 2 days. He seems better today though (touch wood).
I hope the rest of you ladies (and babies) are doing well!
-
kaydee sorry to hear bout ben being sick...i hope he feels better soon!
congrats sorka on bub #3...hopefully i will be announcing in the next few months bout #3 for us (it usually takes us between 3-8 months for us to conceive).
nadine - fantastic news bout kayla and 1/2 and 1/2. life is much easier when your not mixing formula. aiden now drinks REV...i found he would vomit a little on full-cream milk just as zara did. the maternal and child health nurse said this is common for some bubs and REV is a great option (but NOT skinny milk - yuk i don't drink that either)!!
well we've sold our house and made at HUGE HUGE $200,000+ profit in 5 years!!! and we have brought an older house on 2 acres and we are going to renovate it. we have been wanting to do this for a while and were going to buy a investment property but were worried we'd get to attached to it. so this is perfect. plenty of space for the kids and animals, no renting, but we do have to sacrifice a bit and live a bit out of boxes while the renovation is going on but it's going be sooooo worth it.
my kids are just FANTASTIC. aiden now had 6 teeth with 2 more coming through. he's such a BOY! so very different to zara but absolutely wonderful. he loves exploring, playing trucks, getting dirty and all good things. hes still not walking yet but it shouldn't be long now. zara has been going to kinda for 6 weeks now and loves it. im really shocked how well ive coped. most other mums hang around and make their kids sookey but not zara she says...see'ya mum after kinda...and off she runs to play. god i felt better about leaving her more than i expected even for 2 hours!!!
i spoke with bec's mum today...kahlani is about 8kg and 70 ish cm so she is going well. still small but growing well.
i hope all mums and 1 year old are well.
take care

Hello girls!
Gee, so many posts (or better, gee, have I not been in here for a while). First of all: SORKA: Congrats on your pregnancy. How exciting that you will have no.3 in Nov this year! Poor Seth though having foot & mouth :(
I have actually been thinking that we might postpone no. 3 a bit... make it more May 2008 or so, when Zara is more than 2 years (cause if we ttc in June, she would be just 2...). All sorts of reasons... main one being work though... we run our own business and we just want to take it to a new level and that requires me working more (and I really want to work more). We will set up an office and that will be fabulous. Working from home doesn't work for me... I always get sidetracked and end up surfing the net... *blush*
Kaydee - I hope Ben is well again. Stomach bugs seem to be going round Europe at the moment...
Narelle - that's so great that Zara goes to Kindy so well. Wolf goes 3 mornings a week and he cries everytime when I leave. I have snuck out once but he got really upset when he realised I was gone, so now I always say goodbye but it requires one kindy teacher to hold him back. The first thing he says when I pick him up is "Mama, I cried!" :( They say it takes 6 weeks... gawd... we have only done 3... I really really do hope it will get better.
Yeah on selling your house for a nice profit.
Nadine - yeah on Kayla drinking watered down cows milk.
Zara still gets formula in the evenings. She gets cows milk in the morning. She loves milk though. Wolf drinks a glass of milk in the bath tub and Zara tends to have half of that... I guess I could switch her... but because she is so skinny, I will keep giving her formula. FIL just arrived yesterday and he brought 2 cans of s26, so I will give that to her til it's gone (she vomits from the European formula).
As to talking. Zara says Mama and Papa and Da! (there). Wolf used to make animal sounds, just like Kayla does, but Zara does none of that (yet). Maybe we read more to Wolf... less time with 2 kids. Though it's great when Wolf is at kindy. I feel like I finally have some time for Zara.
Eating - Zara is such a great eater - as long as she gets to feed herself. I made pasta with salmon the other day and Zara grabbed the salmon chunks and ate them all. Not so interested in the pasta. LOL. Wolf is the opposite - doesn't eat meat or fish, just carbs. So funny.
Well, we have been healthy for a week and a bit now. So fingers crossed we have broken the curse. Thanks for all the well wishes.
Snowy
-
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the congrats..still very excited  and thanks also for the concern for Seth. He is over the Hand foot and mouth (thank god!) and fit and healthy again - it did last for 8 days though which is heaps longer than I thought it would.
Seth seems to be saying similar things to Zara - Hello, Bye bye, Mum, Dad and dere or dat (there or that) when he points to things he wants. I was also wondering why Seth's speach seems so much further behind Blake's. Maybe it is the reading. Seth doesn't really like books much (loves to turn the pages but rarely stays on the page long enough to actually read the words...any tips for this?) and Blake loved them - though time is definately a major part of it too.
Seth often says something once or twice in a row (like 'Quack' )but then never again. Anyone got any ideas for getting him to keep it up? I quack at him all the time now to try to get him to do it again but he says nothing and just stares at me like I'm an idiot!
We had Seth immunised and then got called back about a week later and told that it didn't work (there was a problem with the temperature of the vaccine due to storms cutting the power at the surgery) and that we have to take him back to get it re-done in four weeks time...does this sound legit to you guys? I'm not sure who to ask/call for advice but I just want to make sure he doesn't get overdosed (if that's even possible?!)
Parenting is hard!
Thanks guys - keep well!!
-
Sorka,
vaccines do have to be refrigerated as far as I know. So there could be something to it. I guess you could always go and have a blood sample taken to see if the antibodies are present in Seth's blood....
re. talking: I swear Zara said "Bob the Builder" the other day... but she only did it once and it was probably just her copying us (=Wolf and me) singing the song... but it was exciting nevertheless! She does say Mama and Papa a lot more now. It's so cute (and such emotional black mail, isn't it...)
-
I have that with Ben too! I SWARE he repeats the Tv or Radio, but only says it once, and then NEVER again! Aghh! This song was playing "Working, working, everybody working!" and I sware Ben said "working" in a song-song voice! So many times has this happened (with other situations), i was scared i was going crazy! But now i know its happening with the other babies (or rather, mummies) too!
Snowy, ben loves Bob Der Baumeister! I was looking at your site the other day and it facinates me how Wolf interacts with both languages. I can only hope Ben can do that too! I speak only English with him, DH German.. Dh is so afraid Ben will only want to speak English.. because then his family won't be able to understand Ben. But i see it as.. Well, really, it's their problem, not ours. And what about MY family if Ben speaks only German.. Hmpf. I suppose my family have experience, as My BIL is from Sri-Lanka, and my neice and nephew also speak 2 languages.
Benny loves playing with his wooden Xylophone. He is so musical like his daddy. He sits there and "plays" whilst "la la la - ing". It's adorable. I really need to get the video camera back off my BIL.
-
Kaydee - don't worry, i am sure he will pick up stacks of German too. Kids are sooooo good with languages. When we got back from Oz, Wolf was speaking mainly English but then we spent 2 weeks at my parents' place and suddenly all the German came back. At the moment he seems to get more and more whom to speak English and whom to speak German to. So clever. Today he was running down the hill with DH and I could hear him say things to DH in English and then he'd turn to me and repeat them in German. So clever!
btw. MIL actually went to German classes cause she was so worried Wolf would mainly speak German... maybe our ILs oughto take some English lessons...
My ILs have actually been picking up a lot of German. It's so cute, they know all sorts of random words, like pilot, mean, fireman, angry... :D all the things Wolf says...
Zara is walking heaps recently. I think I should really get her some proper shoes soon, but I am waiting for spring to come properly. It's really weird, we had such nice weather here and then suddenly from one day to the next the temperature dropped and it snowed again. But next week it's supposed to be in the teens again, so maybe i will go next week and buy her her first "real" shoes`!! So exciting. Wolf had his a bit earlier... dunno if I was more "pushy" with my frist born or whether he walked better than Zara...
-
I just had a look through your photos and you look like such a cute little family!! The picture that was in the newspaper is just gorgeous (and you are very pretty!!)
-
aw, thanks Snowy, thats sweet. I have a question for you. As you know, we are flying to Oz in May and Im wondering how you went flying with Zara. Do you have any tips for me? I'll be flying alone with Ben, so im really cr@pping myself. We are flying with Emirates, and they have a basinet, but i think Ben will be too big for it - must call and ask. We havent bought an extra seat for Ben, we really couldnt afford it. Do you think we should stick with the bulkhead seats? I've posted a thread on this, but i know that you have experience, so i would love some advice.
Re: shoes. Because it is getting warmer here we have been spending alot of time outside, so we needed to get Ben some shoes. He loves them! And i love knowing his socks arent getting dirty!
Aghhh, we have to drive to Frankfurt next Thursday. I need to attend a passport interview. I emailed the embassy and asked if i really needed to go cos it is so far away, and they replied no. THEN yesterday they emailed me and told me i do need to go. I still need to change my name on my British passport.. CUTTING IT FINE! Hopefully they wont take too long.
Easter has come so fast, i only realised yesterday that it is next week:doh: !!!!!!! Shock. Question: What are your thoughts on Chocolate? DH and the in-laws thinks i am being too strict in not wanting to give Ben chocolate this year. MIL is the worst, I KNOW even if i say no, she will sneak it to Ben. I think a little bit is okay, but im scared as soon as i say a little bit is ok everyone will be stuffing Ben full of sugar.
-
Hi girls...i hope you are all well and your bubs are great too.
just a quick post to let you all know IM PREGNANT with #3. due december. gotta still go to the doctors for a blood test. im feeling well. happened really really quick this time, very happy, but busy thinking about moving in 3 weeks. Oh yeah...its still a secret!
i'll post again soon, the kids are ready for bed.
take care narelle
-
:confetti: congratulations narelle! Wishing you all the very very best!!
Been a long time since anyone has posted, i hope you are all fit and healthy. Ben is doing very well. He is walking alone now. Has been since 29th March. Dh and i started really encouraging him to walk alone, because i felt like he could, but it was just a confidence issue... So on the Tuesday we started sitting with him and helping him practice, and by Thursday he was walking all alone! On Saturday he started standing up on the spot. Very proud of my boy. It's so adorable to watch him just walk around in circles with a straight face, and then look up at me with a huge grin on his face, like as to say "LOOK AT ME! I DID IT!".
I look forward to hearing what all the other bubbas are up to!!
-
Hi girls
Congrats Narelle - wow, that was quick. You have been busy *wink*.
Congrats Kaydee with Ben walking.....Sophie manages to stand on her own, but i dont think its clicked that she has the ability to move her legs - LOL. I rrrrrreally wish she would walk, we are limited with what we can do i.e go to the park, the shops. She gets cranky in the pram, and wants to crawl....ohhh how much easier it would be if she could walk. No to mention the brown stained knee marks on her long pants i continue to wash!!!
This pregnancy is going fine. I still dont believe i am - LOL ....finding out 24 April what sex this one will be. really dont mind, i would love 3 little girls, as this is defn our last, but would love the challenge of a little boy too.
DH and i went to Japan for a weekend a few weeks ago - LOL (again). He was asked to go for his bike biz , his airfare paid for, he didnt want to go alone, so he begged me to go. I have never been away from the girls for more than 2 nights, so being away for 3 nights was a real challenge....i cried the whole way from sydney to japan.....i got better as time went on. We squeezed in a bit of shopping on the Sunday. WHilst it was a whirlwind trip, it was so nice to spend some R&R time with DH. Life gets so busy lately, it was nice to have an adult convo with him and no little people interrupting.....
Zara is a clever girl too, walking.....c'mon sophie !!!!!!!
-
Wow, finding out the sex already? How time flies! Be sure to let us know!! And Japan, you lucky woman. I understand it would have been very difficult for you to leave the girls though. No morning sickness Mbear? Do you find that this pregancy is different to your last 2? Also, do you have a "feeling" to what sex he/she is? I just knew that Ben was going to be a boy...
You know, Before i lived here (2 girls, 5 and 8 living above us) I would have said i would be very upset if i dont eventually have a girl. BUT now, i find that i honestly dont mind... I love my boy, and the girls upstairs can be so... yea. :-)
Talking about the next one... My mind changes constantly. One day i decide, no, i will wait until we are back in Oz so i can share my Pg with the people i love, and then i think about how i wanted a 2 yr age gap, and THEN i think about the stress, and whether i can cope with 2 right now... THEN i look at Ben and almost feel sorry for him that he doesnt have a little brother or sister to play with. Dh doesnt mind, and would love for me to have another one right now. But all im thinking about is not wanting to have morning sickness when i visit home. If you guys remember, i went to scotland 8 weeks pg with Ben, and i had the WORST holiday of my life because of my morning sickness. NOT a good idea.
Wow, that was me babbling on. Gotta go, Ben is awake. Take care!
-
I had m/s up until 12 weeks to the day. Every morning had a spew.....i didnt mind being sick, i just hated the sleepy feeling i had ALL DAY. Very hard when you have two littlies.....in a way im glad that part (m/s) is over with in terms of my life.....i was really over it this time. BUT, kaydee, you never know, every pregnancy is different. YOu may not get m/s as severe, you may not be so focussed on your next pregnancy, as you have Ben to look after....??? I was a bit like you when we decided to have SOphie, i didnt want to let go of the perfect world the three of us (me, DH and baby) had created.....i didnt want change....but then you do have 9 months to warm to the fact....and it is a nice change isnt it??? Its not like a baby will arrive tomorrow.....
Anyway, enuf of that....nope, i have no idea about this one. I know DH would love a boy, but equally love a girl too. Im one of 4 girls, havent had much to do with little boys, so i guess another girl would be easy for me to adjust too....a little boy would be a challenge i guess......
-
Narelle Congratulations that is fantastic news and wow MBear your pregnancy is going super fast nearly half way there.
Narelle - quick question for you - do you remember when we were all pregnant and you had a great website for maternity clothes in the US, do you remember the search term or the name at all,??? i have lost all my links and found it was an awesome site when i was pregnant with Harry, Ugh have to run will be back later Harry is waking...
-
Thanks Kaydee, Mbear & Wilson
Wilson funny you should mention that website ive just ordered new maternity clothes yesterday. the website address is...
www.motherhood.com
WHY do you have news too?
Kaydee - re: M/S - i had none with Zara, 12 weeks with Aiden and none so far *touch wood...every pregnancy is similar yet different.
Wow Mbear nearly half way already that's gone so very fast...have you started to think bout names yet?
take care
-
Nope, no names, DH and i usually decide around the 39 week mark - LOL
yes Wilson, do you have news ??
Heading to that website now - thanks girls.....
-
Funny thing, most people would be dreading giving birth for the second time... Me, im dreading the morning sickness more. I hope your right Mbear, that morning sickness might not be so bad second time around. I shouldnt let the idea of m/s get in the way of our decision to have (or not to have) another soon.
I recieved my new passport today, I'm so excited, going home soon!! Wish it was forever, but i suppose 9 weeks isnt too bad.
I've signed ben and me up for a parents and baby playgroup, which is to start in August. They have one for all the babies born in 2006. At the moment i dont have any "mummy" friends... and i only know 1 person with a baby, but she is very young (18) and it's difficult to get along with her (she is a bit of a rebel). I'm really nervous about it, as my German is still very bad, but im sure I'll be okay, i just have to jump in the deep end sometimes.
I got news on sunday that my cousin died. I've been pretty down since then. My uncle took him on a holiday to Europe and they arrived home on the Saturday, and when my uncle went to wake my cousin on Sunday, he found him. My cousin had cerebral palsy pretty severe and was 18. Im not too sure what happened, but the saddest thing is that his mum died of cancer 1 year ago (she was 44 i think), and i was pretty close to her. But i feel at peace knowing that they are together again.
-
Katie- Aww I am so sorry about your cousin. So sad! Good Luck with the playgroup. I am sure you will be fine :)
Narelle- Congartulations. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy :)
Sarah- Oh do you have some news for us all???? Do tell :D How are you going?
mbear- Wow your pregnancy has flown by so far. Let us know how the ultrasound goes :)
Oh you girls are making me clucky. Damn you (hahaha).
Us- Well Kayla took heaps of steaps yesterday. 5 or 6 lots of 5-6 steps. I got it on my phone video. So proud of her. Hehehe. Might not be too long now!
I have booked her into Gymbaroo. We start next friday. Swimming also resumes this coming monday. She goes up a class so that will be different.
-
Katie - So sorry to read about your cousin, its nice he had a nice trip with his dad though.
Narelle - Thanks for the link, i've favorited it now :)
Me - Well seems you all asked, yeah i think i'm pregnant again :)
It just doesn't feel real yet which is weird because the minute i got the positive with Harry i was telling everyone. But 7 tests later all positive i'm pretty sure lol.
The doctor is getting me a dating scan though as i had irregular periods since going off of the pill again so at least as of next week i shall know all is ok or not and will then tell everyone.
We are very excited but sometimes i look at Harry's little face and think poor little guy he isn't going to be getting all of our attention anymore but i know he will love a brother or sister. No morning sickness as yet just the occasional sweep of nausea but its early day due early december if all goes ok.
When are you due Narelle?
Harry is great, he is really understanding everything now, if i say lets go up the stairs he runs over to them or i get the car keys out he runs to the door that goes to the garage, i love how he is learning now, i think this is my favourite age :)
Nadine - Yay on Kayla taking steps won't be long and you won't stop her, we were looking at Gymbaroo as well, i went to a playgroup up here but the kids were all 3 ish and a bit rougher so don't really want Harry there yet will try again maybe. Hope you guys are going well, sounds like you are busy. Take care and give Kayla a hug from Harry :)
-
Oh CONGRATULATIONS Sarah :D You sneaky thing ;)
Just looked at your webpage. Gosh Harrison has grown. Such a handsome boy too!!!
Yep will give Kayla a cuddle from him :D
-
Wilson - congrats hon. Kinda thought you were.....nice age gap you will have.
Can i be a snoopey poopey and ask what brand that bedspread is in your website?????? (here's nadine commenting on your son, and im commenting on a bedspread....i feel silly)....i LOVE IT. I LOVE bedspreads. I just bought a woolrest one and have the need for MORE !! LOL......
-
Lol Mbear... It is a very nice spread though!
WOW! babies left right and center. Huge congratulations to you Sarah! Harry is so cute, and it's really wonderful he is able to wear some of A's outfits!! I would have loved if MIL kept some of Dh's clothes. Ben does have a teddy that belonged to Dh when he was little, which was knitted by his grandma (Ben's great-grandma), he sleeps with it every night. Also, he plays with some wooden blocks that belonged to DH, even has his name scribbled on some of the blocks in 4 year old writing. cute. And this easter MIL gave Ben a baby cutlery set that was once Dh's.. But since then it has been given to all the cousins to use, so it's been around quite a bit.
talking about Dh, he is so clucky!!! My boobs have been feeling weird lately, and yesterday i mentioned this to Dh and he had the biggest smile on his face and said "ohh, please dont get my hopes up!!!" ´haha. He really wants another now. hmmmm.
Sarah, you mentioned that this is your favourite age.... I agree! It's sooooooooo fun. Ben is learning so much! He isnt talking yet, but im 100% sure that is due to the two languages, im sure it's a little confusing. He says "dada", but only says "mum" on the odd occasion. the in-laws (and Dh) all call me "mama", but i call myself "mummy" or "mum"... Im sure once we go to Australia things will get easier, it will be english all the time. Im really looking forward to it.

Thanks Nadine, MBear and Kaydee :)
Kaydee - I would definately have thought having 2 languages would limit Ben's words, Harry has only just in the last week or so started to say a few more before it was mainly mama, dada, ta, there, etc. So you won't be able to stop Ben once you get here :) i bet your family is so excited to see you, how exciting!
MBear - Lol i had to go in and have a look at what bedspread i had a pic of, i adore bedspreads i have completely changed styles i like in the last year had a lot of stripey ones and now have i a few more girly ones, hubby doesn't understand the need for more than 2 so i have to explain, anyways i went and had a look and the tag says heritage...i know he bought it at Myer though...
I think all our babes are just the cutest lol

Hello girls!!!
Sorry for not posting for such a long time - and oh my, the news I have missed!!!!!
Narelle, congrats on your pregnancy! Wow - no.3 on the way! How exciting.
And Sarah, congrats on your pregnancy too! Wow, how funny is that, Mbear, Sarah and Narelle all pregnant again!!! So you'll all have an age gap of about 2 years. I think that's really popular at the moment. Most of our friends seem to have them 2 years apart.
Well... me... I keep tossing up no.3 and sometimes think that maybe 2 is it. I feel so torn as it is between Wolf & Zara. I feel like I don't give enough attention to either of them and they both still need so much of it too. Also, I like that I am slowly getting my life back a bit. I am going to yoga, I am running, I have been going out a bit... the thought of being pregnant again, of the morning sickness, of gaining all that weight again only to have to lose it again, potentially getting more stretch marks, the thought of another caesarean, the thought of having 1 E cup and 1 A cup boob again, the pain of that blocked stupid breast, not being able (or having the energy) to go out, boob too big for sport, ... all those things weigh so heavily at the moment against a third. I think I will wait to feel more clucky before even thinking about no.3. Sometimes I think that maybe I should just not breastfeed no. 3 to take at least that worry away but then I feel so guilty since i breastfed Wolf for 8 months and Zara for 6 months, how could I treat baby 3 differently... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg... and then DH's work situation is totally up and in the air at the moment. He wants to quit, so it's not really time to think about a third baby either. (gawd, I am making a lot of excuses, aren't I)
But then on the other hand I so wanted to enjoy that feeling of being pregnant again that I had with Wolf. I just loved my pregnancy with Wolf (okay, not the morning sickness, but the rest of it). I loved feeling him grow inside of me. I think I would like to feel that again. But in order to enjoy it, I guess I need to be totally ready for it and I just really don't seem to be ready yet.
Gawd, do I sound totally negative? I am sorry if I do. I am totally excited for you girls though!!! (which I guess is a good sign... and I do cooo at little newborns... )
ANYWAY... let's leave the baby subject for a sec.
Zara is RUNNING. It's so funny. She just let go of my hand a few days ago and since then has just been walking walking. She doesn't crawl at all anymore (well bumshuffle that is). She is walking all the time, has been running even (and in flipflops too!). She is suddenly so big!!!
As to talking: I don't think the 2 languages necessarily means anything. Kids are so clever - much more clever than we think they are. And it's so much fun when they talk in both languages. Just read him lots of books (and get DH to read to him too) and it will all just bubble out of him one day. Wolf got to this phase when he was 16 months or so, where he just said a new word a day. It was just sooooooo much fun! I loved that. (still do actually - he still sometimes surprises me with the things he says - yesterday he said in the most annoyed tone "Jesus Christ!" to me, ha ha ha)
As to travelling: oh Katie, it is hard, especially when you are on your own. DEFINITELY get the bulk head seats because at least there you have space. Try to get an aisle seat because otherwise you will have to climb over other people (though they do tend to squash moms & bubs at the window.. i think it's because of the location of the oxygen mask). Since Ben is walking, he will probably want to walk for a lot of the flight (which is tiring... ). Do you have the night flight out of Frankfurt? Keep him awake until take off, then if you are lucky, you might get him to sleep all the way to Singapore.(oh no, you are flying Emirates/ so you are not stopping there? well on the 1st leg anyway)
No, he won't fit in the basinette, they are okay weight wise but length is the problem. He will probably sleep on you (which means you won't get a lot of sleep).
It is definitely hard... especially if you are on your own... but remember: it's 24hrs and then you'll be in oz!!!!!!!
Hmmmmmmmmm... anything else??? Well, it looks like with the new potential job, DH might have to work in London 4-5 days of the week which means long-distance relationship for us. Arg... but we are not moving ... at least not for now...

I was in the loungroom with kayla this moring. I was standing at the tv cabinet and Kayla was standing at her walker which was about 1.5 meters away from the cabinet. I saw something move in the corner of my eye and thought I would look. And here was Kayla walking over to the TV. No prompting. Did it all on her own. YAY :D
We are definately going out this weekend to buy her some shoes!!!! :D
Snowy- Clever Zara on the running. I think kayla has a little longer before she can do that, hahaha :D
Katie- Ooooo will you be the 4th in the group to announce something????
Favourite age- Yep totally agree aswell!!! I do love ALL ages (especially newborn, *cluck* *cluck*) but at this age you can really see Kayla's little personality coming out properly. And they are learning so fast. Adorable!!!

Snowy - I love reading books to Ben. Reading the German ones is a great help to me aswell!
I can understand your feelings towards a third. You really need that time to yourself, so dont feel guilty about it. Happy mummy = happy baby. I also have that feeling of not being able to give the attention that they need. I'm spending time with Ben so much, i really dont like interupting his Schedual (sleep, eat). So i dont get much time to myself. At the moment Im really not happy, so maybe i should start putting myself first, and not Ben or DH. I think this trip to Oz will clear my head, at least i hope so.
Zara: running? wow! Ben is really fast too. I suppose you can call it running!
Travelling: I will definately be requesting the bulk-head. Im freaking out still, but we do have a late flight.. well 9pm, which is an hour after Ben's bed time. We are flying from Duesseldorf to Dubai, I think we are in Dubai for 4 hours. Then straight to Melbourne from there. My dad has taken a few days off so he can help me recover.
Nadine - It's amazing how that can happen!! when ben was just starting, i would see him in the corner of my eye and think "no... really? WHAT?" haha. Wohoo for Kayla!!
Gotta go, Ben wants cuddles! Take care everyone!

Hi there girls,
yes, Katie, I think it's a great idea to just go to Oz and clear your head and enjoy your time and then maybe you know an answer.
I went for a run today and thought again how much I enjoy this time to myself (Wolf and Zara both cried when I left and when I got home I could hear Wolf through the door going "Mama, ich hab Dich vermisst" (Mama I missed you) - I felt so bad yet so much enjoyed those 40 mins on my own)
Great that your dad is taking time off. That will be a huge help! Your flight to Dubai will probably be fine seeing that it's so late. He'll probably just fall asleep. But the second leg might be hard.

Snowy, reading your post was like reading my own head 6 months ago....i was pretty happy with our lot, DH and i were going out to dinner again etc, we were saving $$$, planning hols for the girls when they get that bit older....and then we DTD !!! This pregnancy really shook both of us, and for ALL those reasons you listed i was in a way heartbroken when i saw those two lines....I do understand your points, and you know what, that feeling of bubs growing inside, the kicks etc, i dont think a women ever looses that want, that need to feel it again...KWIM? I reckon when im 50 i will still reflect on how wonderful pregnancy is etc....doesnt always mean i need to be pregnant. Gawd, am i making sense? I think what your feeling is totally normal....im so glad M/S for me is over, i will never be 12, 13, 14 wks pregnant again...i sound ungrateful, i dont mean to be, i just want to start living my life with my children and DH, rather than creating life.......
Ohhhhh Katie, i do feel for you travelling with Ben. My cousin went to UK when her son was ben's age and i think she gave him a sedative or something...she just couldnt handle him !!!When we recently went to Japan (for a weekend LOL) there was a newborn (maybe 4 mths) on plane, and she cried the whole way (almost). People were grunting and groaning, but i felt so sorry for the parents.
Nadine can you get Kayla to talk to Sophie pluuuuuse...she has no intention of walking....little bugger. And yes, i love this age too. I love how sophie eats what we eat now, she knows whom people are, she can feed herself....a real little person. i walked out b4 with a face mask on , i forgot i had it on, she was just staring at me, amazed, then came over to my face and was just staring....so cute.
