Hi all!
I have been keeping up (sort of) and reading, but tried to post twice last week and couldn't (with the whole earth hour website thing jamming this site apparently).
May only have a second, as Monkey due to wake any time.....
We are good - Monkey had another virus and ear infection, but all good now - she went to the doctor 3 times in 10 months (apart from imm.) last year and this year she's been 5 times in 6 weeks!!! Her GP said that after a few months at childcare all children should be sent to a desert island to recover from all the bugs they have been exposed to!!
And we have been way busy with house stuff, but at the 11th hour (like the day before we were about to list with an agent) my Mum (who recently retired) phoned and offered to loan us money from her super - enough to decrease our home loan to an amount we can afford the repayments of! Incredibly generous of her, but she wouldn't let me say no. So now we are still busy, but just trying to sort paperwork for refinancing etc.....
As we only really want to stay here for another 3 yrs anyway, it is perfect not having to rent for that time - then hopefully it'll be adios Sydney, hola somewhere.......
Monkey update:
Teeth remain hidden!
She is walking a few steps - up to 8ish, but only to us and when we ask, not really spontaneously yet.
She does seem to be getting more words - I should write them down like you did Kirsten - but I don't think there'd be 32 yet!! Maybe 15-20. She now says "up" and "down" appropriately when she squats/restands at the kitchen gate - it's a very cute game! And she also tells you when she wants to play "round and round the garden" by putting her finger on her palm and singing "la la la"!
Sorry I don't have time for personals, but very glad you're back Kel!
Oh and thanks Tash for the list - very helpful.
And there she goes.... she now calls out either mama or dada for us to come get her!

Hello Everybody,
I'm over my dummy spat, although I realise none of you even cared. LOL. I'm just teasing, we all have our own issues & it's just that on here I can air them & feel better about it.
Mummy Bunny - Chocky went to bunny heaven today. She got very sick on Wednesday, has been hospitalised since, hasn't got any better despite all the medications under the sun, decided to bring her home today & see if she improved in her familiar surroundings but it was very bad. She took fits & was very distressing for myself & Jessica. Had to call the vet to come & collect her & take her to bunny heaven. I'm devastated, Jessica's devastated & now we are left with 5 bunnies to bottle feed. In amongst my dummy spit last week & this happening, I have stressed myself out to the point where I got covered in hives, my lips, hands & feet swelled. Used to happen to me a lot between the ages of 5 & 12 & we finally found Napisan, Chestnuts & stress set it off. I haven't had a case like this in years. So I have been to the Dr's, got some meds & of course I can't breastfeed while I'm taking them. By the time the round of meds finishes, I'll be having my wisdom teeth removed & because I"m going under a general, they don't want me feeding Claudia until 48 hours has passed after surgery. So I have had to wean her, she is mega jacked. We have all been crying, even my mum who stayed last night. Tonight was much better. I got the babies to bottle feed & Claudia drank a nuby cup of milk. Feeling better all around. I know you are reading or probably just glancing & thinking i'm a drama queen, & that is fine, but we don't walk in each other's shoes every day, so we don't know what each others lives entail.
KYM _ That is mint news about your mum! How generous is that! I"m sooooooo glad to hear! & I'm loving the plan to still escape the city! Good on you & WTG on Monkey's 8 steps! I wouldn't worry too much about the sickness, I have heard tonnes of people say that once their child starts daycare. Goes with the territory I think. Monkey will be super-immune in NO time!
LISA _ Totally loving the headbanging!!!!!! Your new Avatar threw me! Looks like LisaL's avatar sooooo much! I'm loving the big boys walking through the shops too & I bet her felt proud as punch doing it! He is sooooo clever & I'm loving his curls! Going to drive the girls wild in years to come!
SMYLIE _ So glad to hear that Jem is eating & I agree, it's great having you back! I missed you in here! How is the walking girl going? Oh & the hitting head is not cool, but totally within her development - I think! Claudia throws herself on floor or if she's in car & has a spit, she stiffens up to try & 'bust' out her seatbelt. Totally entertaining! NOT!
SAL _ Fantastic news with the weight gain as well as the speech therapist. So what's the overall consenus on the tongue snip? Yes or No? I'm so glad to hear he has cracked 9kg! Sounds like you're very chuffed & so you should be! So what happened on the house front? I hope exciting news!
SCORPIO _ WElcome & my goodness you're a busy lady! Jett sounds delightful! Do you know if this bundle is pink or blue? Tell us the wedding plans! I LOVE hearing about weddings! Yay for you guys! I think it's great! Are your two little men going to be wearing spunky suits?
RYN _ How is everything going for you in the UK honey? Is the weather warming up? Did Liebs burns end up healing without scarring? I sure hope so. How is the new nursery going? I love the peg thing BTW, he needs a peg! I know what page you're on there!
TASHIE _ Thanks for your e-mail honey, I had picked myself up but the passing of Chocky today sent me right back down. I'm letting these 5 little bundles of fur keep me going for now. Only making me stronger to think I AM going to succeed in this rabbit breeding game! How is Tobi? When does Nathan leave? Alan is home on Monday! YAY!
Ok, good night to all the little ones & their mummies! I have noticed nobody is complaning about sleep! Does this mean they are all being good babies?
Love Jayne xox

Hi everyone
You all sound pretty busy, and Jane, it must have been awful seeing the bunny so sick! I wanted to own a zoo when I was little (I loved animals sooo much), so I can imagine how devastated you all were.
Bella's cracking, so I can't stay long. She is doing soooo well right now. Daycare is tiring, but since she's started walking, she's seeing it in a whole new light. They have a little pretend kitchen there, and they tell me they can't get her away from it! She also walks EVERYWHERE! In fact, she rarely crawls now. Our house is quite long and she very easily walks from one end to the other!
We have two molars now too (Bri said "Bella's got a new tooth!" in the car the other day. I told her she was dreaming, but no, she was right. In fact, she had two new teeth!). So that's 6 teeth all up, with 2 eye teeth about to cut through. No wonder her poos have been so disgusting!
As for talking, she'll tell you every animal sound there is (with the extra special arm action for the elephant!), will say mum or dad, but that's about it! Whenever she sees a dog she says "woof woof!". Hmmm....
She also knows a lot of the moves for several Wiggles songs too. Very cute to watch her "doing the flap"!
I've sorta been MIA although I do read up when I get a chance - which is rarely these days!
Work is keeping me busy and is really an inconvenience more than anything! The business is doing well and I'm starting to get clients who want me to build them websites. Too bad I can't officially show you all my masterpieces on here! Oh well...! I might have to put something in my profile that will direct you to my business site where the testimonials will be, and therefore links to my masterpieces!
Speaking of the business, I have to go and finish what I started last night!
Take care!

Jayne - Lol... there has been a mix up and that IS LisaL's avatar!!! lol
I am a Lisa L also, so when I emailed my new avatar to Kathryn, I forgot to include my username, so she must have thought it was from LisaL... because I noticed that LisaL had my avatar and I still had my original... now I have LisaL's one and she has none.
It's confusing!!! Lol... I am sure it will be sorted out soon.
Isn't it funny how we put faces to the posts by looking at the avatars?

i looked at it and thought you had had makeover and was going to see if pics on harrisons site
too funny
i'll write more later

Ok, so now you all have me insanely worried about Tobi and the amount of words that he is saying. It is fantastic how vocal and cleaver all your babies are. Tobi is still only saying a couple of words and some of the ones that he was saying, like Duck, he isn't anymore. I know that he understands us most of the time though. What are you all doing to teach them their words? Is anyone using flash cards?
We have a friend that has an autistic boy, so we are clued up on the signs and one of the first signs is lack of speech development and these days it is so common. I know that we are probably just being silly, but I am sure you are all worried at some stage about your bub's development and worried that something might be or go wrong. It scares the **** out of us. Not that we wouldn't handle it, cause of course we love him no matter what. Another thing is not responding to their name, which is doesn't do half the time either. Mind you he is a boy and I do believe he has selective hearing!!
DH left last night. One sleep down only about another 140 to go! I was telling him yesterday that he is going to miss 500 nappies. 420 times cleaning the high chair...etc. etc. Not that he does much when he is home anyway. The good byes weren?t too bad. It is sad to say that I think we are just used to it all now. Tobi just waved him off, not interested in giving him cuddles or kisses.
Tobi is still sick. Just with a runny nose and the cough is back. We took him to the doc yesterday and his ears have cleared up and the cold is just a cold, so that is good. We thought about it and he has been sick since I stopped breast feeding.
Meanwhile, do you remember me telling you about my BIL a month or so ago and his annoying girlfriend. Well they broke up when they got back to QLD, maybe for a day or two, but they are back together and now she is PREGNANT! I want to be happy for him, but I am so worried for them. She is so young, not just in age, but maturity.
Michelle - So glad to hear that everything is going really well with work and with your girls. Tobi's poos are disgusting too. I think that we feed him too much protein. They are so stinky they make you gag.
Jayne - Poor Bunnies to lose their Mum. How long do you have to bottle feed them for before they go to their new owners? Good on you for going out and spending money and getting everything organised. Spending money, especially on our home, always makes me feel better when DH is away. I am feeling for you hon and hang in there. Kids are hard work, especially when you are on your own, but they are so cute and give us so much goodness back too. And I am sure that Claudia knows you still love her even though she can?t have boobie. It is going to feel fantastic once you are all better and have your body back. I haven?t looked back since I weaned Tobi. PS. I don?t think you are a drama queen at all. I think you are fantastic to do everything you do.
Kym - That is fantastic that your Mum is going to lend you the money. That is going to save so much time and effort, especially when you know you are going to only have to pack up and move again in a few years time. A friend of ours was looking for a place recently, min 3 bedroom, and they had so much trouble finding a decent place and are now paying double what we pay on our mortgage (Brisbane home), so staying put might be a blessing in disguise. And way to go Monkey on the walking. Can't wait to see her in action on Thursday. She'll have to teach Tobi all her tricks.
Lisa - Sounds like Harrison is a real cutie and soon to be a big star. Have you thought about putting him in baby modelling? I can picture him on the set of wiggles or on an add for banana boat! Don't worry about taking your time going to get Harrison?s 12month check done. I still haven?t got Tobi checked yet. Must do that this week, although I haven't even booked yet. But I do know that he has the same weight, height and head circumference as Harrison. Tobi just needs some hair and they could be twins!!
Sally - I hope that Brendan doesn't hurt himself banging his head. But it may be a good thing that he is doing it just for fun. It will help him build his pain threshold so that when he does fall, he might be able to pick himself up and keep going without crying. What types of things did the speechie say to try?
Kel - Yay for Jemima eating. Tobi is eating really well at the moment too. I am starting to hope that he has a growth spurt soon as he is getting on the chubby bubby side. Oh well, who needs to walk when you can roll!! Don?t worry about your SIL and the asthma thing. Sounds like she always wants to put her two cents in. You are a great Mum and go with your gut instincts.
Scorpiomum - Congrates on the pregnancy. Tell us more about Jett.
Kristen - Wow, 32 words. That is incredible. He is going to be so smart, or should I say he is so smart. Like I was asking before, what are you all doing to teach him his words? Are you using flash cards? And well done on the running. It makes you feel so good when you are fit and makes you wonder why you went so long not working out hey? I feel so good after a walk, but I still struggle with the motivation to go.
Lil - How are you feeling this week sweetie? How was your son's birthday? Did he like the bird?
Ok now that is seriously enough from me today. Love and kisses to all. xxx
-
As usual, not much time to respond.
Poor little baby bunnies! :( Jayne, good work on all of your mothering!!
Tashie: We're not doing anything like flash cards, I was apparently an early talker, Quinn surprises me everyday with new words, his 2 latest words are rubbish and circle. I am always shocked when he comes out with new ones - haven't written them down in a week or s but I think there would easily be 10 more words. I just talk to him all day and point out the names of everything and we read a lot of books, Quinn loves books. I think they all just do their own things in their own time. Quinn doesn't walk nearly as much as others his age, the most he has done is about 12 steps in one go, but once he's down on his knees, he crawls again...I honestly wouldn't be worrying about Tobi, Quinn also seems to have forgotten words he used to know.
Anyway, I've been very sick with gastro this week, how disgusting it is, feeling lots better now but still weak and tired...
Quinn has just woken up so gotta go - hi and hugs to everyone else!
-
Tashie, Bri was talking at 9 months, but Bella hardly says anything and she's 14 months. Kids are just different.
If Bella gets to 4 or 5 and is still only making animal noises, I'll start to worry!
Forgot to tell you all what she does. She has a newborn cabbage patch doll her grandmother gave her. She puts it in the toy pram and pushes it around. Then she gets the doll out, gives her a kiss and a cuddle and puts her back in, then pushes her around again.
Can't believe the maternal instinct is there already!! Sooo cute!
-
Tash - We have thought about putting him into baby modelling, but he does get very shy around strangers... my brother and sil come over once a week for dinner, and we sometimes see them a few times through the week... Harrison knows who they are, and if my brother tries to pick him up, Harrison will get teary. Some days he is ok, others no one but us can pick him up. So, I think it would be better to wait a while until he is past this phase. Don't feel bad that Tobi isn't saying as much as some of the other bubba's... my eldest son didn't say a thing until he was 18 months old... then he came out with sentences. Every bubba is different... and I have heard that boys usually talk later than girls.
Jayne - I am so sorry to hear about Chocky... how upsetting for you all. I had rabbits when I was younger and I loved them to bits... How is Jessica taking it? It must be difficult for her as she is kinda at that age where she will notice that Chocky isn't there. Please vent away all you want and know that I am not judging you... and I am sure there are no others in here who will judge you... we all have our moments hun, it is especially difficult when you're on your own. My DH has been working 12hr days, 7 days a week... so I am starting to feel like a single mum at times too... only my husband does come home at night, but he usually showers, eats and sleeps. I hope you're feeling a bit better soon hun... thinking of you
Michelle - Bella sounds adorable!!! She's be so cute wandering around with a little pram and hanging out at the Daycare Kitchen!!! lol
Hi Kel & Jemima and Kirsten & Quinn :hello:
Me - Well, not much has been going on here... DH has been working loads so I am feeling a little out of touch with him atm... thankfully he has tomorrow off, and from tomorrow onwards his hours should be down to about 10hr days.
We're leaving this afternoon to visit my family... so that will be nice.
I took the kids to the movies last night to see Drillbit Taylor... Harrison usually falls asleep at the movies and stays asleep... but last night he woke up and wanted to sit on my lap and watch... there was only us and 2 others in the cinema... and there was a funny past on the movie, and Harrison started to crack up laughing and clap his hands... he turned to me, laughed and pointed at the screen... it was the funniest moment.
Oh, I forgot to tell you all that Harrison is the kissiest bubba... he loves to give kisses... big wet, sloppy, open mouthed kisses. He will give them to me, then he will turn to DH and give them to him... then look for anyone else who wants a kiss... when my sister was here, she even got one... and he is usually shy with my sister so she was excited to get a kiss.
It has been so cold here over the last few nights... so on Thursday night, DH and I bought Harrison a pair of slippers... every pair of shoes we buy him are his "Woo Hoo Shoes" so these became another pair of woo hoo's... and he laughed at them when he first walked in them... he kept walking with his head down, checking out his slippers. There is nothing special about them, they're plain red slippers but he loves them.
Urgh... I feel like a fraud with LisaL's avatar!!
-
Lisa - I hope you enjoy your time with your family. Tobi is a really kissie bub too. It is usually really sweet, but he has had a snotty nose now for about a month and the snot kisses aren't so sweet. He loves blowing raspberries too, so if I ever have any bear skin, I have to watch out. He has even pulled my shirt towards him so my cleavage is close enough to blow a raspberry when I am pushing him around in the trolley at the shops. Cute, but not something to do in public!
Kirsten - I hope you are feeling better now. Gastro sucks, unless you are keen to lose a few extra kg, then it rocks!
Me - I started my diet again. I am doing the Tony Ferguson shake diet. Fingers crossed.
Tobi - The sweet thing crawled over to me yesterday and threw up all over my feet. Luckily I was in the kitchen and not wearing my slippers. Then we were at the bank talking to the financial planner and Tobi turned his computer off at the wall. The guy was not impressed at all. I will have to thank DH for teaching him that trick.

shoes shoes shoes
i wish my child had feet that would fit into shoes! they are too long and skinny for any shoes i have been able to find,i have 3 pairs that work but they dont fit properly so i dont do it very often, going to town today so hopefully jemima can get some 'woo hoo' shoes too
tashie - i thought you were doing really well on your own with regards to your diet??? 2 shakes and one meal is good and works good but just make sure you get heaps and heaps of support when it is time for maintenance as that is where everyone stuffs up, losing weight on shakes diet is easy peasy but keeping it off after you 'start eating' again is really really hard - so so funny about tobi turning computer off, not so funny about the spew... why did he spew? something he ate??
jayney - thinking of you big time, hope you are all coping with out mummy bunny and that all the baby bunnies are ok when is alan home next??
ryn - where are you?
kirsten - quinn is so so clever!! jemima has almost no words just HEAPS of babble, the nurse was not worried coz she is so chatty and communicative with her babble but i would love her to get some words happening......
michele - i spoke to you on msn last night so i have nothing to say to you hehehehehehe
so funny i have to mop my floor now.... my cleaner just left but ran out of time to do it..... grrrrr
-
Kel - I have been going ok on my diet and mainly starting the shakes out of laziness. I am not going to cook myself proper meals while DH is away and will eat up eating toast for dinner which is a big no no, so I am going to give the shakes a go. I realise that people put the weight back on again if they aren't careful. We eat pretty good anyway, I just need to get the weight off once and for all. I have been overweight now for eight years. Too long. I think Tobi spewed because I was naughty and gave him some raw apple to munch on and I think he got a bit stuck and ended up bringing up his whole breaky not just the bit of apple. Lesson learnt!
-
Hello!
Sorry I've been MIA. We got our house!!! :D We signed the lease today and have started to mvoe. Brendan is asleep, so i'm having some "me" time. I'm taking it easy, I've got until the weekend to get all moved in. Then the others will move in.
Hope everyone is well.
On the 7th of April, Brendan had been home from the hospital for 1 yr!!!! :D It was an emotional day, but i did get boosted when we got our house!
Take care :)
-
sally - it is so hard to believe how little our babies were but you would know that better than all of us!
tashie - that is why i do shakes diets as well... i call it getting rid of the "back log" of weight at least this time i have kept off a bit of the weight i lost with the shakes diet, i have to stop making an event at the end of the diet i need to stop them a couple of weeks before to get myself used to food before eating hardcore again, which reminds me i have choc chip cookie dough inthe fridge
-
Yay Sally!!! Glad you got your house!!! :confetti:
I'm trying to cook dinner, read the forums, and look for my profiterol recipe with Harrison on my lap all at once so I will do personals another time. Hope you're all well :)
-
Going back a bit to kisses... Monkey is hugely into kisses of the open-mouth, sloppy variety - we LOVE them!!! Luckily it seems to be reserved for us, but she does blow kisses to everyone else - she seems to associate it with goodbye, 'cos sometimes we say bye bye to her cuddly toys on her shelf and she blows them kisses too!
Hope the profiterols are yummy, Lisa - anything with pastry is waaaay to tricky for this little duck to ever try cooking! And hope DH's work slows down - is it always going to be like this now you are in Newcastle?
OMG Tash - BIL girlfriend pregnant!!!!! Wow, guess she'll be sticking around then.......
Sal, big congrats on the house!
Kirsten, hope you are feeling better soon mate.
Jayne, been meaning to reply to something you said a while ago after the dummy spit..... what else are forums for if you can't vent a little steam and have people to listen..... I know there are lots of people out there who do it on their own, but I know I can't imagine what it's like to have such a varied life where you sometimes have DH around and sometimes not - I think you always sound like you are doing an amazing job - if I was on my own with 2 toddlers, just lost a loved animal, feeding said animals offspring and having to wean off BF because of medication (not because you/Claudia really wanted to) all at the same time, then I think you'd find me rocking in the corner of a padded cell!!! I hope you sometimes sit back and realise how much you do! Anyway, I've been thinking of you, especially about the weaning and hope you and Claudia are doing OK.
Kristy, how are you and bump going? Do you think Erin understands yet? I constantly wonder how much our munchkins can comprehend.....
We kinda have news..... Monkey is kinda walking more than when I last mentioned it - but its still only up to about 10 steps - but its much more spontaneous now and she is starting to use walking now to get places as long as she's not in a hurry - she takes it slow and steady so she doesn't fall!!!
Gotta go iron work shirt for tomorrow, blah...
-
Hello All,
Just a quick selfish post for me. I'm off to get my wisdom teeth removed in hospital tomorrow afternoon, so I might be MIA for a while! I'm really starting to stress about it, which I know I shouldn't, it's all routine, but with everything that's been happening, it's hard not to stress.
But anyway, things are going well here. Today is day 5 of bottle feeding the babies & 3 of the 5 of them have gained weight back - they were losing weight. So I'm feeling really good about that. Jessica is pretty good about Chocky. When I give her carrots & vegies to go & give to the big bunnies she sometimes forgets & asks where are Chocky's vegies, but all in all it's going good. I think the babies have given us focus & I told her when the babies leave home we can get another bunny.
Alan got home yesterday & he bought me a new digital camera from duty free, had my watch repaired that he got me for Christmas & bought the kids loads of melamine plates, bowls, cutlery, etc... so it was a bit like Christmas for us! It's been really good with having him home & the kids are just falling all over him. Jessica got up 4 times last night to double-check he was still there!
Claudia is going ok with the cows milk. I'm surprised my boobs have coped so well. I'm not happy the situation was made for me to wean her, but I had to do it to make myself well again & so I could take the medication & I guess now it's been done for me. I was getting to the stage of do I wean her or don't I, but now it's done so that's that. She has also cut the tooth on the top that is next to the pointy one, but doesn't have the pointy one. Typical of her to do things differently.
KYM _ Claudia does the pushing 'bubbas' around in the prams & kisses & cuddles. it's so adorable & you're right, the maternal instinct is powerful!
Well I had best be off, I will chat to you all later when I"m living off soup & getting skinny!
Love Jayne xox
PS _ THanks for all your nice words about the bunnies, it's tough, but we're getting there.
-
So sorry for not doing personals atm,, but i dont have much time atm for anything,,,as i have 2 kids sick as atm with croup :wall:
Both have been having heaps of trouble breathing with it with major weezing, so have to get them intot he doctors asap.
However,, just dropped in to say a big "HI" to all you wonderful mummies,, and let you know that my DS birthday was a big hit :D.
He loved his litle baby budgie we got,,as it has no tail feathers or big wing feathers yet and can be held as it is a hand reared one. He names it "Beaky" of all things lol,, but at least he is stoked.
Will try and get back on later girls,, bubby is crying again
-
Monkey came over today and she taught Tobi a new trick...walking. Now he is taking a couple of steps!!!
-
That is so cool - well done Tobi!!!
Quick question..... has anyone given their little moo a pillow yet? And to those with older toddlers/kids, do you remember when you gave them pillows? I have bought one for Monkey to try to help sleep and 'cos she seems to hog mine when she's in our bed, but just wondered if I'm the only one? Not sure if it's good, bad or indifferent for her???
-
yippee tobi on the couple of steps, jem went from a couple of steps to full on walking in just a week or so i think so LOOK out, i didnt think everyone would be so right about them getting into more stuff after they start walking but it is true
pillow - jem has not got an official pillow but always ends up sleeping on her teddy so maybe i should get her one..... so yeah can anyone tell us good bad indifferent???
-
hello everyone!
Almost finished moving. sad news.... not going to be online anymore :( Well I will be, but only when I visit mum!!
Hope everyone is well!
Take care :)
-
KYM _ I gave Jessica her first pillow just before she turned 2 & went into a big girls bed & it was a big hit. I was worried at first, because in the cot she slept at every possible angle but going into the bed she just seemed to get her bearings & stay on the pillow & in the bed. It's weird, she didn't even have one of those guard-rail things up. I would try Monkey on the pillow if she sleeps pretty much in the one direction. I have put Claudia on a pillow before, especially when she has a heavy cold or an ear infection but she is a fidget in her sleep as well & ends up getting annoyed with it. I suggest just try it & if it works, great & if not, try again in a few months time.
SMYLIE _ How is Jem going? Is she still doing really well with her routine & walking? I love that she sleeps on her care bear, that's cute!
SAL _ WTG on the new house! I can't wait to hear it, hopefully you can get online more than you think & you can keep us up to date with everything that happening with you guys!
TASH _ How are the shakes going? Do you know, I find I eat soooooo much better when Alan is away? That's weird because I know I'm meant to be slack with cooking when he's away. But we eat meat & veg all the time & fish & salad & stuff like that. It's when he's home he wants to order a pizza or go out for dinner & that's where the trouble starts! Does Tobi realise that Daddy is gone? I mean I know he knows he's gone, but does he ask for Daddy? Claudia usually looks around saying Daddy? with a puzzled look on her face the first few days that Alan's gone & then after that she carries around my mobile & puts it on her ear & says daddy.
ME/US _ I look as though I've been beaten up! I have bruising all along my jaw line & I'm still a bit swollen, but each day it gets better. The surgery wasn't as bad as I thought & I am loving the soup diet! It's done wonders for my diet, I've lost nearly 4kg! I'm sipping water all day because I"m scared that juice is going to sting. I am sitting here eating Connoisseur icecream though, Alan's mum bought me a tub! YUMMY! Today has been the first day I've had to look after the kids. Alan has gone fishing with his friend, has been out since 5am & I'm pretty tired. From not doing much, to having them on my own, was rough. Alan's mum just came & picked them both up to take them down to the beach & for an icecream & she's going to bring them home at dinner time. So that is just MINT! I have the place to myself! I have a wire bra on for the first time today & my goodness they are uncomfy compared to maternity bras! LOL. Claudia is ok with the cows milk, but I'm sure if I offered the breast again she'd be in seventh heaven. I'm going to stick with keeping her weaned. It's been 10 days now though & I'm still really full! I'll get there.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!
Love Jayne

Hi all... not a big post from me... I am in the middle of cooking dinner.
Harrison has had a pillow for a little while now... he used to always hog our pillows when he was in bed with us, and we found he would sleep much better in his cot with a pillow... he now has his little habit of fluffing his pillow up or turning it over before he puts his head on it... it is very cute!
We went to the Newcastle Show last night, Harrison had a ride on the carousel with his Daddy and sister... he then became master of the laughing clowns, winning a small Barney and BJ toy, a bracelet (which he gave to his sister) and a plane. He had a ball of a time, he especially loved watching Rob and the kids on the dodgem cars... he was laughing the whole time. He also reeeeeeeally liked Fairy Floss!!! I will post some pics later of him finding some at home, getting into it, hiding and eating it.
I hope you all had a great weekend :)

We have TEETH!!!
Yay!!! I just had to let you all know that Harrison finally has teeth!!!:hooray: His 2 bottom teeth broke through sometime last night... Madeleine was the first to discover them.:excited:
He has been really good considering they would have hurt... no crying or sookiness.
Yippee for teeth!:happyforyou:

I girls, I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Lisa - Yay for teeth. Well done Harrison for not crying. Good boy...Tobi is a fan of fairy floss too. Well done Harrison on winning so many prises. That is fantastic. And sooo cute. I can't believe how grown up he is. They just grow up too fast. How is your diet going? You haven't mentioned it in a while, you are back on it aren't you? What are you doing for James's birthday?
Jayne - I am really enjoying the shakes. They are tasty and fill me up. I am craving carbs a little, but am staying strong. I always eat heaps better when DH is away too. My DH would have junk food every day if I let him. One day it will all catch up with him and he'll get fat. I know that it is bad of me, but I can't wait for that. Then I can have a go at him for it...hee..hee. Tobi does miss his Dad. He asks for him all the time. The other day we went to the airport to drop someone off and he kept saying Dad..Dad..Dad. Must have remembered that was the last place he saw him. Dad calls everyday though, so we are coping pretty well so far. Hope you are feeling ok and heal up pretty quickly.
Us - I have my step sisters here this week. Which has been interesting. I don't really know them as my Dad married their Mum after I left home. Tobi is really enjoying having new playmates.
Kym - I read in my mag last night that they recommend 2 years for a pillow, but I agree with everyone else. Try it and if she doesn't like it, try it again in a few months time. They also said when they go to a big girl bed. Tobi is now drinking happily from his straw cup. Monkey will have to come over more often. Tobi learnt so many tricks off her.
Sal - I hope you will be on here more often than you expect too. We'll miss you otherwise. I hope that Brendan likes his new room. Even though it is hard work, I like moving. Very exciting.
Kel - It is driving me nuts now how much stuff Tobi is getting into. He loves draws at the moment. Although it keeps him entertained for ages, I am sick of putting everything back in them. I need to get some draw stopper thingys. At least for the bathroom. And now you tell me it gets worse!!!
Lil - Sorry to hear that everyone is sick. I hope you all feel better soon.
Kristy - Hope you are feeling ok sweetie. Give your belly a rub for me.
Tobi - Still doing a couple of steps at a time, but hasn't progressed any further. I was hoping he'd wait till we get to grandparents next week till he really walks. If DH can't be home for it, as least he can show off for someone else. His nose is still snotty, its been 6 weeks now. I have started to give him oranges with lunch, hoping that might help. I wonder if he is allergic to something....

Hiya Tash :)
I haven't started my diet yet, I am still waiting for my new program to arrive in the mail. I had the bloods done over 2 weeks ago... I guess Dr Cohen is still trying to figure my bloodwork out!! lol
As for your cravings for carbs... try taking Chromium... it helps with carb/sugar cravings... I found they worked wonders for me when I was on my diet last, as carbs are the main thing I crave.
All the best :)

Hi Lovely Ladies,
Apologies for being so slack, just have not been able to time it right to sit down and do a proper post, so here goes !!!
LISA- yay on the teeth!!! You watch now, he will have a mouthful before you know it.
TASH - Starting to feel less tired and more energy now Thank goodness. I can feel my clothes getting a little tighter now. I am that stage where I just look bloated but not bing enough to look prego.Hope DH is home really soon!Great work on yoru diet hun!
JAYNE - Hope your are feeling better hun, I had mine out and I know how it feels. I was craving a cheeseburger so I beat it with a mallot so I could actually eat it, this was about 15 years ago!!! How are the little rabbits going. I think your amazing how you cope with everything, especially by yourself. Great that your have got such a grerat MIL, especially with the icecream!!!!Once you are all recovered hun, would love to bring Erin over to meet your girls.
SAL - Hope the move has all gone ok, and we hope you can get on here as much as you can!
KEL - Yay for Jem walking,I keep meaning to ask, are you still working at the Op shop?
KYM -Erin has had a pillow since about 8 months, my CHN said as long a they can turn over themselves it should be fine. I first gave it to her when she was all snotty, but she loves it now. Don't think Erin understands yet, she does poke my belly button though, so who knows!
Lil - Hi sweet, how is everything going? How is the budgie going?
Well I am 15 weeks now, this pregnancy is going way too fast. Got another Ob appt tomorrow to get untrasound test back, though she siad if there was any probs she would just call me.Just lots to think about like do I put Erin in a bed before bub comes etc etc. Got a few months yet to work it all out.Erin is going great running everywhere. She sleeps now from 7.30 - 8am nice!!!! Her day sleeps are about 1 hr 1/2 morn and arvo. When are they supposed to combine and just have the 1? Not compaining as I am feeling really good again with getting lots more sleep.
Was a while ago now but her christening was lovely, really casual and itimate family thing. She as really good, andlooked like a Princess. Anyone else looking at TTC soon? need a prego buddy!!!
Take Care girls,
-
Hi Kristy :)
Wow... those 15 weeks have flown!!! Good to hear you're getting lots of sleep. Harrison still has 2 naps a day... I have found when he doesn't have his 2pm nap, he seems to want to stay up all night and play!! Either that or he is such a grump... I'm not planning to give him 1 nap per day any time soon.
As for TTC, DH and I are looking to start TTC in March next year... so maybe you'll have to look to one of the other girls for a preg buddy ;) lol
-
hey hey
we have been TTC since jemima was born basically... we waited the 4-6 wks..... hmmmm.... so yeah i would love to be your belly buddy but not looking promising until maybe jemima weans herself, my body just isnt doing it...
nurse said that when a new baby is coming YES try and get older bub into own bed before so that baby doesnt think new bub stole her bed
yep i am still working at the opshop every 2nd saturday.
tomorrow i have a interview to re-register as a office temp. awesome money and i can pick and choose when i work
will start work on may the 12th, that gives agency plenty of time to line something up
we go to new zealand on april 19th for a couple of weeks so when we get home i have one week home with benji and in that week we will try and get jem 'settled' at the daycare place but she loves that kind of thing the only difference will be it will be ALL day and kidzclub is no more than 2 hours and when she stays with my friend it is only 10 until 4 (but 8.30 til 9.40am at kidzclub before that)
i will miss her heaps but i will not work forever, i will work a contract then most likely take a break and then get another one
am organising highschool reunion and have some text messages to send to people i only have numbers for not email or address yet so better go do that.
had massive day today looking after my friends one year old.... we went for a walk that only takes me 5 mins but with 2 one years olds it took ALOT longer i dont have a double pram so i just walked holding both their hands and then we came back for lunch and the other one (gem) is teething so she wasnt eating and so funny my jem ate twice as much then i remember gem likes sultanas so let her eat sultanas all the way to another of my friends houses where they had a quick playdate with a 17 i think month old then they fell asleep in the car on the way home, which is good coz Gem didnt go to sleep as easily as usual in the morning and almost woke Jem which is really annoying.....
tomorrow it is 12months for mothers group so we are going out to lunch followed by my interview
wednesday swimming lessons, pub lunch and then appointment at salon that has child minding
thursday MY DAY OFF i plan to get stuff for holiday...and pack and stuff after the gym
friday a friend with a 4 month old coming to visit after i go to the gym
then saturday i fly away!!!!!!
just realised this post all about me........... whoooops
so how is everyone?
-
Kristy - I want to be pregnant now too, but alas I am not getting laid. At least my AF is back, so when DH gets home we can start trying. It took us 9months for Tobi, but I am really hoping that we'll be up the duff by Christmas. Fingers Crossed.
-
No TTC for us yet, prob start trying at end of year.
thanks for thoughts on the pillow - not only does Monkey love it, but we have massive news..... She can put herself to sleep!!!!
last fri, DH just decided to try to put her down when she was calm but not falling asleep in his arms and to our surprise she just rolled over, snuggled into pillow, cuddled te-da (teddy) and closed her eyes!!!! She has now done this for 5 nights in a row - we still sit in her room initially and give her a cuddle for a couple of min until she stops wriggling, but a couple of min vs up to 40 min is amazing - its changed our world!!!!
Even more jaw dropping is that she also did this for MIL while she babysat her on Sat night while we were at a wedding!!!!
Monkey is also walking properly now!
Been a big week all round really! (bit of a selfish post.... sorry)
-
Kym I am so happy for you. Congratulations and Well Done Monkey
-
Yay Monkey!! Isn't it amazing the things our bubba's can learn to do in the space of a week?
-
kymmmmy i know EXACTLY how you feel!!!!!!! you wonder how long she might have been able to do it by herself for.... but dont care coz you are just so relieved that you did it without doing the leave your baby scream thing!!! i still cant believe how good jemima is.... no patting no nothing just sleepy time here is carebear turn around walk out room, baby asleep it is amazing
and WOOOHOOOO on the walking, i wish i knew what monkey looked like so i could imagine it... they are so cute walking, jemima looks like a mummy coz she always has her hands in the air, but she has had her hands inthe air since she was born, there is a two second clip of jemima walking on her youtube site (the link is on the site that is on the link on my signature)
our babies rock
ps- i go "back to work" on may 12!!!
pps - benji, jemima and me go on an aeroplane on April 19!!!
-
Wow Kel... how exciting for you, going on a holiday to NZ... Are you nervous about Jem on the plane? Harrison is a good traveller in the car, he mostly just sleeps, but I wonder how he'd be on a plane. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday.
Are yoy excited about going back to work? I would be!!! I consider it all the time, but there is a huge part of me that just can't leave Harrison... I don't know if it is because of losing Noah, but I am sooooooooooooo much more paranoid about Harrison than I was about James and Madeleine... and I was paranoid enough with them!!! I haven't left Harrison with anyone for more than 3 hrs... and that was once, with my sister, for a concert... and he was not real happy about it... the 2nd longest time I have left him was for 15 mins and that was with my Mum and my sister together.
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one still finding it hard to leave Monkey! Wow Lisa, that is incredible! But good on you for doing what feels right for you and Harrison.
I'm cool with day care now, and after last sat night's wedding success with MIL, am starting to feel more confident with her too..... but I still find night outings the hardest.
Have fun on holiday to NZ, Kel! I'm sure Jemima will be fine on the plane, she'll probably just wander up and down the aisle making friends!!! Monkey has always been pretty good on planes - even when we did the 3hr flight to and from Cairns, she wasn't too bad, just had a little time on each flight where she was bored/tired etc.... But that was also before she could get around on her own, so she was frustrated on our laps the whole time....
Just have to tell you all something funny.... Monkey is now starting to say "no" (by shaking head, not the word) appropriately to questions I ask her, like "have you done a poo?" She'll shake "no" if she hasn't and just look at me or point to her nappy if she has - how cool!
But the funniest one is when I ask her if she's got any teeth coming!! Occasionally I stick my finger in to check, but she just shakes her head when I ask her "any teeth today darlin'?" Very funny!!! Her expectations of her getting teeth are obviously as low as mine are now......

Very very quick post - we've all been ill so I've been cleaning up projectivle vomit from both my boys. Am having a brain scan next Wednesday to check I don't have a tumour (I don't, but we haveto eliminate it) so please pray that all goes OK. Liebs is being looked after by PiL for that so I hope he will be OK.
In reply to other posts, Liebs has a pillow. Some nights he sleeps on his tum, others on his back or left side with his head on the pillow. If he rolls over he wriggles so he is on tum with no pillow. He's had one for months. But then I am the world's most dangerous mother! I've starting to give him sulphur tablets tomorrow from the homeopath to try to sort his sleeping. They can't hurt.
Liebs can also crawl now, and stand up from the floor (sat down or on tum) without pulling himself up, so I'm quite impressed. And he quacks every time he sees a duck and loves it if they quack back, you can't shut him upfromtelling everyone that "duck say quack" all afternoon after that.
Sorry girls, no TTC for a good 4-5 years for me! Maybe sooner but don't hold your breath, it's up to DH. I don't want to try for at least two anda half to three years, so that's cool.
Have a great holiday, Kel! And love to everyone, I'll try to keep up in the future but probably won't be typing again until after the scan.
-
brain scan mega scary ryn.......... thinking of you and good luck, gosh it is confusing listening to you talk about puberts walking and standing and crawling sounds like he is doing the same as the other bubs but in a different order like he really did walk before he crawlled, i have heard of that
i am hoping jemima has a sleep on the plane, it will be 10am so she will be tired so fingers cross there....... almost didnt get to go coz all day yesterday was spent looking for the passports, i almost thought my 14month old had put them somewhere but it turned out it was my 27 year old heheheehe
kymmy and lisa i am not really ok leaving jemima with other people, but that is a me thing totally not a her thing SHE LOVES other people she LOVES other kids she LOVES to play so she will cope better than me by far, she will love love love it, i have a backpack she got from MIL so i am going to make that one a big deal daycare backpack i think, it is a bit hardcore going from a couple of hours at kidzclub to ALL DAY at daycare but we will both be fine..... benji will drop her off and i will pick her up and in the meantime earn a gazillion dollars temping and be able to take weeks of "holidays" in between jobs if I want if not there is heaps of work and i may as well, i guess will keep my mind off TTC and food so by the time i do get pregnant my body will be ready
jemima just gone done for afternoon nap and i have not started to pack so bring it on hehehe
question - all you girls with mega strict nap routines what are your plans for dropping a nap time?? daycare is going to get jemima into their routine which is a 11.30ishnap after lunch?
-
Hi everyone. Selfish post yet again today - phew I've been busy!
Bella has pretty much dropped her pm sleep which is wierd. I expected her to drop the morning one. Oh well. I just let her tell me when she's tired and we go with that. She doesn't use a pillow but sleeps on top of teddy. Poor teddy!
She has had the best week at daycare this week. She didn't cry at all when I dropped her off, which is a relief! I think she's finally used to me "dumping" her!
She moves to a new daycare the week after next. My current daycare can only do 3 days and I need 4, so my sister's son goes to a daycare that were able to offer 4. The good thing too is that Bella will know somebody! They go to my Mum's every Monday and have a fantastic time together, so I hope he'll look after her in the playground! (He's 3).
We now have 7 teeth - finally! She walks everywhere - even into daycare. I'm not allowed to hold her hand either.
Gotta go - we're dancing to the Wiggles and I have a "date" with an old girlfriend who is visiting from far far away who I haven't really seen since my wedding!
