Kristy - I wouldn't worry either. As your belly grows, the placenta will shift upwards. I like both Luke and Rory. Very cute names.

Lisa - Thinking of you sweetie.

Kel - I got Underbelly from Coles for $80, don't know whether the price was good or not. How funny everyone is so interested in it. I organised my DH's school reunion last year. Good luck finding that many people. We did searches through myspace and facebook and also put a notice in the paper. If you put it is editorials, then it doesn't cost anything. Even if the ex-students don't read the editorials, some of the parents might and pass the message on.

Jayne - If you don't end up doing Cohens, I highly recommend the Tony Ferguson shake diet. It is the easiest diet I have even been on. I lost 7kg in a month (which is nothing compared to 20kg) and that was without exercise.

benji is ultra excited u girls are helping me find underbelly on dvd.... i have been anti-underbelly but it is the first show apart from csi that i have seen benji REALLY want to watch and i love House so he never really got to watch it - i am going to go shopping today and buy it for him

he bought me a new vacuum and dishwasher last night i am so so spoilt! dishwasher 7 days away but vacuum in my car.... the cleaner comes today so i will let her christen it

i just applied for a job in a warehouse that sells organic food and products (including baby food) 2 days a week so THAT could be interesting...... 7am til 3pm thursday and friday, i maybe a little full on for them but we shall see

GUESS WHAT! day 2 and a half of daycare.... and i am signing a freakin "incident report' my daughter got in an incident with a bigger kid (after 4pm they get let out to play with the bigger kids coz most of the toddlers have gone home) the bigger kid ended up grabbing her mouth and cutting inside of cheek and it bled and they gave her ice to suck on... you just cant get good help! when i pick her up this arvo i am going to go for a drive to some other daycare places MAYBE some that provide food and have a baby baby group, jem's daycare place starts at 15months so she is the youngest kid there at least at one with baby babys there she will be among more little ones so "after hours" she will be most likely surronding by younger people and maybe better supervision although if i get this job it wont matter coz i will be able to pick her up by 3

kristy my SIL had low placenta when she had jemima's cousin and it meant nothing at all except that she got another scan later in pregnancy to see if it had moved i think at about 34 weeks which meant she got to see the baby again so that sounds good to me! and even if it does stay low - no stress they will probably just give you a c-section which is all good too that means a longer stay in hospital with new baby - no stressing aloud - stressing is bad for baby! so there

jayne - i agree with tashie - tony ferguson and celebrity slim are awesome diets to shift a bit of nagging weight both of them have a gazillion flavours now and are 2 shakes one meal so heaps easy to do especially when you are running around after kids, i just had an optifast shake this morning to make up for the feast i had last night, i may go to the chemist and see about getting back onto optifast but with their guidance, i usually do it by myself so will have a think about that - did u say you like to have a banana smoothy?? celebrity slim has banana flavoured shakes and i'm sure tony ferguson would too........... i have heard heaps of good things about cohens too so really you just have to decide how much money you want to spend and how much work you want to do (shakes are a no brainer you dont eat food you just have shakes, whereas cohens and other food diets mean you have to be disiplined and eat certain portions of certain foods - weight watchers is great for long term weightloss etc but too easy to cheat)

jemima has this new thing she does she walks around pulling her shirt up and sucking her belly in! she found her belly button ages ago which is the cutest thing ever coz she has this mcdonalds shrek toy that she loves and when you press it's chest it says "i'm an ogre" or "burrrrrrrrp" or something else but it growls it so she walks around pressing her shrek button growling or she comes up to you and presses your neck and growls
so you can ask her either where her shrek button is or her belly button and she goes insane trying to show you (really funny if she is wearing a body suit)
she also like to find other people's belly buttons and lately been quite confused when other people dont have a lady beetle tattoo on thier hip like mummy hehehehe

just realised i had written a novel so i better go and do some work
cleaner comes today and jemima is at daycare sothere is no reason why when hubby gets home the house is not spotless and dinner not on the table! hhheheheheheh

Just checking that Kristy's scan was mint. I'm glad all is good & like the others have said, low placenta is common & usually moves up as the pregnancy progresses further. Were you tempted to ask if they could see any boy or girl bits? I'm so proud that you didn't find out!

I will BBL for personals. I'm having a really, really, really horrid time with Jessica. I was hysterical on the phone to Alan last night. I'm basically a single mother & when she is in trouble every waking minute of the day, I wonder what I'm doing wrong. It's just horrible, today has been better, thank the lord because I couldn't have another day like the past week.

Sorry to be a drag, I just dont' know what to do with her anymore.

Oh Jayne :hug: I just had a very similar conversation with my sister last night about her middle son... My BIL goes away for work and her son acts up when he is away, to the point that my sis ends up in tears... I feel for you hun... having been a single Mum of 2, I know somewhat of what you're going through. I hope things settle down for you soon.

Kel - OMG, poor Jemima!!! Madeleine had a similar thing happen to her when she went to daycare... she was 3 and a bigger girl tore strips of her little face. I was told when I arrived to pick her up, and I held back the tears until I got into the car, and then I lost it... her poor little face :( I hope Jemima is okay... and I hope you find a better place for her soon.

DH took the day off work to be here for me today. It has been a strange day for me because even though I think I am okay, AF arrived and it was a little disheartening to know that today is little wing's due date and instead of a baby, I have AF. I am okay, I haven't cried like I thought I would.
Whilst doing the shopping today we discovered that an ABC centre is about to open just up the road from us, and they're taking enrollments... because it has been a looooooong time since I have had a child in care, can anyone tell me if ABC's are okay? And approx how much do you pay for care and how much rebate if any do you get? Last time I had a child in care I was on a single parenting payment and paid $15 a day all up after the rebates etc.

they are all different lisa - i have been shopping around and the abcs are all different as well
some provide food and nappies some dont some have a weekly program some have a daily program
it makes no difference if you ask me and what everyone else has said previously is right you just get a feel for it..... prob with me is i dont love the idea so am looking for the best of a bad thing if you know what i mean
some places are really dodge though - one place i went to look at was there no longer than 5 mins and jemima was into the bin... i mean HELLO??
this place i found today everyone has a degree in childcare so that sounds ok
and another place provides food and nappies both seem really nice so now just up to availability both have varied days available......
i need to get some kind of routine in my life first before i go deciding on different days and stuff
lucky for me jemima is social butterfly of the century and was hugging the daycare leader she met 5 mins ago and playing with all the other kids like i was not there at all the places we wnt to dtoday
talking about jemima i think she is about to put my house keys in the toilet so best fix that

If I was back where I used to live, I would put Harry in my SIL's Mum centre... because I know he would get most definitely get looked after there! Oh well... I was speaking to my Mum yesterday and she now wants to move down here... that would be brilliant if she did because she would love watching Harrison whilst I studied... the best option for me would be to study via correspondence, but I just don't think I would be disciplined enough for that.
I hope Benji enjoys his Underbelly dvd's... I missed out on the final episode, and tried to stay up to watch it when it was rescreened, and haven't got around to that disc yet, so I am still looking forward to seeing how it all ends (even though following the cases for years I know how it ends anyway)

Hi girlies.

Please excuse my poor typing today... head worries. For some reason my brain wants to punish me so I'm having to re-live Wel's birth every 2-3 hours. Not what I'd call fun. Add to that the lack of working left eye and we are really having fun. Still waiting to hear on the brain scan btw.

Anyway, daycare. DS's first one he hated. Really hated. They just couldn't cope with a baby that didn't want to be away from mummy. Second one, he loves. I mean passes me his shoes at 7.30am so we can go there loves. He runs back there when I put him down outside loves (really annoying when we're trying to walk home in the afternoon, btw). He prefers to be in with the bigger kids though. I had to sign a report for him too - DS could play football in Italy. He is such a drama queen. Another child walks near to him and he falls over and cries. (See, he's going to be a footballer!) That happened yesterday and he had a wee bumpie on his head, but he's done that so often with me for the same reason that I can't fault the centre. BUT if I'd have had to sign a report at the other place, I'd be more wary. I didn't really trust them. Mostly because DS hated the place, I admit. So if you're not happy, go somewhere else. It works out best.

Hope everyone else is well! Can't join in the TV talk, we only really watch Patrick Stewart in this house. Can't think why I need my nightly Patrick fix...

one place i found today had an interesting concept they mix the older kids with the toddlers and the older toddlers with the younger older kids
then they dont have a gazillion toddlers and older toddlers going insane and also dont have a million older and younger older kids running riot easier to keep them all under control and a heap of carers
toddler groups from 15months to 3 years but mainly until 2 years all the places i have been have been looking good
and there really isnt THAT much wrong with the place she is at at the moment just bad timing i guess - did i tell u when we went to get her the FIRST day she was getting mothered by a bigger kid, she was basically carrying her around - kind of funny when asked whos parents we were and we pointed to the one that was getting dragged around hehehehehe but honestly
a little jemima's fault as well coz she is so social doesnt care who it is she is friendly and goes and plays with them

Well I'm feeling a little bit better today. Had a good day with Jessica yesterday as well & today is looking good as well. I have had a sit down with her & a good chat. It's just been so stressful & I phoned Alan for some help & he basically told me in no uncertain terms to just deal with it. The problem I have is with Jessica's bad behaviour, Claudia is copying. Even to the point of yelling & screaming & throwing things. She does it because she thinks it's funny & it's totally NOT!

LISA _ I am about to respond to your PM. When do they say you will get your Cohens program? Tell your sister to give me a call anytime & we can organise strategies to bring these wayward kids back into line! LOL. BTW, how is Harrison going?

TASH _ The shake diets are really not an option for me. I can't possibly sit down for dinner with Jessica & Claudia & be having a shake while they are having food. Jessica would want what I was having & of course it's not appropriate, so Cohens, Weight Watchers or somethign with 'real' food is the go for me.

jayne it is so not fair that alan just told you to deal with it! i go insane with just jemima so i am going to be a mess when i have two!
hang in there it has to get better, you are the boss, do the girls know that?? jemima has started to try and chuck tanties but so far i have avoided anything too horrible out and about

with the shakes diets there are shakes diets that let you have one meal a day - usually dinner and some of them have meal replacement bars that really fill you up so you are eating food.
get onto weightwatchers i would but i hate counting it is good for long term food education though teaches you portion sizes and what really is bad for you - surprises me everytime i look at a points book

just been lining up in town with a million other kids for the bonds baby search - didnt give up hung in there and got to the end of the line with 10 mins to go!! so we were lucky and she got her photo taken, the finalists and stuff get announced online... met a nice girl in line and gother number so even if jem doesnt become a finalist something good came of the day - we lined up for two hours!

jem has not been sleeping normal nap times or anything at daycare she almost made it the other day and crashed at 11.10 i think they aim for 11.30ish after the kids have lunch so i am not sure when they fed her her lunch - hmmmmmm

Jayne - I have nooooo idea when I am to get my new program... the lady from Sydney has gone away on holidays, so I am assuming that it will be when she gets back. Oh well... glad the kids are a little better for you today.

Kel - Has Benji been enjoying Underbelly? I finally got around to watching the final episode last night. I have been chatting via facebook with the wife of one of the main people... I don't really wanna say her name, but she is in Underbelly a lot. She seems lovely IRL (well, over facebook anyway! lol)
Well... I am off to clean up the mess that Harrison has made all over my floor, his highchair and himself before we have to pick Maddy up from school :hello:

Happy belated Mummies day to all! I got GHD straighteners - been wanting for aaaages - got them off Ebay really cheap - very proud of myself! It'll help me stop looking like a cabbage patch kid with all my curly hair at the front of my hairline which is still growing back after falling out when Monkey was 4 months old.....

I also got some gorgeous stuff made at day care including a card and a flower made from a tongue depressor (big paddle pop stick), green feathers, red cupcake paper and cotton wool - can you picture it? Very playschool and way cute!!!

Can't join in the Underbelly chat - never really got into it. My 2 never miss shows are Brothers and Sisters and House - so glad the new series has started!

Lisa, good luck with your bridging course, very exciting you'll be on your way to being a midwife soon! And glad to hear you coped ok with your emotional day. My advice with daycare centres is to go with your gut feeling which you will establish within the 1st 30 seconds you are there, KWIM? When I was checking out places, I literally knew that quickly whether I could possibly bear to leave Monkey there or not. I don't want to put you off ABC centres, as I have had no personal experience with them, but I know a lot of early educators that don't think much of them - but like Kel said, they are all different to some extent.

Kristy, I like both of those boys names too - am a little bias as DH is Luke and I know a very lovely little Rory who's about 4.

Kel, hope you get the job, glad Jemima is enjoying day care even if you may decide to change.....

Jayne, I'm glad things a bit better with Jessica - it's amazing to think you sat down to have a chat with her about her behaviour - it feels like Monkey is so far away from that - wow how they grow in a couple of years....

Life is ticking along here, works sucks, too busy, my best friend is getting on my nerves a bit, Monkey is getting more teeth - 1 surprised us the other day, just appearing unannounced, but now there are at least 2 more that are giving her grief.

She did give me an extra special mothers day pres too that i forgot to mention above.... she slept through the night on both Sat and Sun nights!!! (11 hrs!!) We worked out it was the first time since she was about 14 wks old!!!

She is also doing some awesome talking lately too - so many new words..... she now says plane, tree, car, lots of common friends names, bath, "tea" - which means morning and afternoon tea, she is sort of saying "hurt" or "sore" when she hurts herself or when her teeth are bothering her.

Speaking of talking, I'm waffling, might go to bed and read my new "Kindred" magazine - has anyone else heard of it? I just got a subscription recently from Isubscribe when I was on there buying a gift sub. for a friend. It's a parenting magazine that leans on the natural/gentle/hippie/eco side of parenting.

jemima had a huge day with baby competition but still managed to impress me with growing up.... she learnt how to climb onto the couch - now to convince her it is not like swimming and diving/jumping off it not cool and she named carebear.... we have never named him and always called him teddy or carebear but she calls him "bub ba" so now we have realised he is not just her best friend he is also her baby, she keeps cuddling him/patting him to sleep and he always needs a drink of water when she does except he makes a "cluchk cluchk" noise when she is feeding him, and she puts him in her stroller and insists on pushing the stoller around and if i leave him in the car she goes back for him reaches in and grabs him - i was not expecting that kind of thing until she was 2 or 3 - my little girl is a mummy hehehehehehe
she has also got a new thing when she wants to go.... she waves.... not 'on que' or anything like that she has had enough of me chatting so she starts waving tothe person i am talking to which is MY cue to say bye bye and leave!! cheeky thing.... i am in trouble when she can talk and tellme she is bored and wants to go home.... hmmmm

KEL _ I am loving that Jem is a Miss Mummy already. She sounds like she is into her carebear like Claudia with her pooh bear. He comes everywhere, she wants him when she's upset, tired or hurt herself, she has to give him a drink & pat him & snuggle him & take him for walks in the dolls pram. It's so adorable to watch! Have you perfected the fountain pony tail yet? LOL, I was thinking of you this morning when I was doing my girls hair.

KYM _ Woweeee, that is the best present of all! A full night's sleep! I bet you felt absolutely radiant after that! Good on you Monkey! Yes, I can sit down with Jessica & have a conversation, she is a very bright little girl. SHe never baby babbled, always spoke properly but Claudia is a big baby babbler so it's very hard to hear. I told Jessica that I will stop sending her to her bedroom if she will start doing the things I ask her to do & that I will stop growling at her. I said it makes me sad to have to growl at her all the time, so if she could be a big 3yo girl & do what Mummy says then we will all be happy. I also mentioned something to her once before that Mummy, Jess & Claudia have to stick together because Daddy is away so it's just us 3 girls. We are going to my parents for the night on Saturday night & Jess told my parents that Mummy & Claudy are coming because we have to stick together. Funny the things that stick in their minds.

ME _ Had a wonderful morning at the settling in for Jessica for her daycare. Claudia thought it was just fantastic & threw a massive tanty on the floor when we were leaving! She loved it! Jessica also loved it there & they have a piaza where all their meals are served & she got to paint her own placement so she thought she was really spesh. She made a beautiful little friend called Yelena, who is just gorgeous. I think the thing I like the most is the way the teacher addresses the children. It's really lovely & the kids have to address the teachers as Miss or Mrs & their surname, which I like as well. I'm thinking of putting Claudia in there next year when Jessica is off at Kindy because she had such a great time.

Jayne - I am sorry to hear that you are finding it tough with Alan away and the girls on your own. I hope that Jess settles down a bit and listens to her Mummy more after your talk. You sound like a brilliant Mum and even more spectacular as you are a single mum most of the time. I take my hat off to you (well I would if I was wearing one). That's fantastic that Jess loves childcare. How many days is she going? I hope that takes some weight off your shoulders.

Kel - I hope that Jem's mouth heals up quickly and you wont have any more dramas with childcare. Unfortunately it is one of those things when your kids are playing with others. When we were out with Kym today, Monkey got pushed over at the playground today as a bigger kid wanted to play on what she was on.

Kym - Haven't heard of Kindred mag, but will be interested in borrowing it sometime. I get parenting mag, so we could do a swap.

Ryn - Hope you and Liebs are ok. Glad he likes childcare.

Sally - How did it go at the specialist?

Us - Tobi fell down the stairs yesterday, about ten in total, and even curved around with the stairs at the bottom instead of going splat into the wall. I caught him at the bottom but just wasn't quick enough to stop him, either that or by me approaching it caused him to fall as he turned to look at me. He had two bumps on his head, but nothing serious and is back to his normal self today.
I have enrolled in a diploma of financial planning, all this talk of studying made me stop talking about it and actually get my butt into gear. I don't know whether I will go into it as a profession, but I wanted to do something and that was the best I could come up with.

wow a diploma of finance planning, that will get you places you wont be able to stop once you start - you go girl!!
so so so many jobs out there and they all want accountancy and bookkeeping and stuff like that what is with the world loving numbers.... i hate them!!!
wish i hadnt told my friend i'd do that week of work for her - it is in 2 weeks time and it is making it heaps difficult to get a job either until then or on either side of it so i think the next two weeks will be just settling jem into daycare more (getting there later and later to pick her up - today was 4.45) and registering at other agencies and having a GOOD break
today i got a manicure/pedicure at one of those asian nail places, i'd usually pay $10 and get my neighbour to do my nails but couldnt be bothered watching her kids who she sometimes brings over and she speaks terrible english which has somehow gotten WORSE in the 3 years i've known her.... so i went to one of those asian places where they dont want you to talk to them and they prefer to talk to eachother and laugh rudely that was a nice break
i can feel the flu coming on - not really pleased about that but if it does happen at least jemima is at daycare and doesnt get a mummy feeling sorry for herself all day!
tomorrow my turn to volunteer at the opshop i havent been there for a while coz of holidays so i am sure there is HEAPS of good stuff come in - yippeee
false alarm on jemima naming carebear seems everything is bub ba kinda - so i am not sure i think she is just going on about herself bub ba and then her bub ba but i think he has a name as well but i cant understand it

saw an awful facebook/youtube video today that told a story about a little girl that was dead by the time she was 5 because of the abuse she was dealt by her mother, grandmother and step father i cried like a baby and then felt awful for putting MY baby in someone else's care.

Oh god Kel... I have seen that video too... it doesn't make it any easier with the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" song playing all through it too huh?
It is just so terrible that these little angels have endured so much and then teach us a very sad lesson... bless their little souls :(
I try to not let those things get to me... I am a way OTT paranoid and protective parent to Harrison, moreso than I was with James and Madeleine... so watching those videos can set me off on a wrap-him-in-cottonwool state of mind... I think awareness is the key thing with those, just be aware of what is going on in your child's life. You ARE a bl00dy fantastic Mummy to Jemima and I am sure you would never ever see her put into a difficult or dangerous situation, and as you said you get a "feel" for these things too.

Hi Girls,

Just a quick one from me as we had a get together at a friends house last night and got home at 2.30am very tired today. Even though I didn;t drink at all being pregnant I still felt hung over !!!!

Had some very sad news, My girlfriend who was due 2 days after me had her 19 week scan on tuesday and her husband rang me later on that day and told me the baby had died. I just felt devestated for her. She has to be induced and give birth tomorrow. I think I will buy a card and maybe a guardian angel or something like that and just drop it in to her letter box as she isn't up to seeing anyone, and not sure how me being pregnant will affect her. Haven't been able to get it off my mind.

I have my Ob appt Tuesday to get the results back from my scan, so looking forward finding out that hopefully everything is as it should be.

Oh Kristy, I am so sorry to hear about your poor friend and her angel baby :(

When we lost Noah, my sister was about 16 weeks pregnant... I have to admit that it was really hard at first being happy about her pregnancy... it was nothing to do with my sister, I was just hurt and bitter... as much as I never wished anything bad for my sister, I was wondering why it was me that it happened to, and not the people who smoked, drank, did drugs etc... After I gave birth to Noah, it became a different grief for me... I was missing my son... not just my pregnancy.... so I came to enjoy my sister's pregnancy in a way, and became very protective of her and her baby... and when Taj was born, it took me a few days to be okay with seeing him.
It still can get to me at times when I see Taj or hear about the things he is doing, knowing that I should have a son 6 weeks older than him (Taj was overdue by 2 weeks)

I think that your friend will most likely be okay with your pregnancy in time, but if she isn't I am sure you will understand... she could be having a few thoughts of "why me?" which can make it difficult to be around pregnant women. Blahhhhhh!!! Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble.
I just really really feel for your friend right now. I hope she gets all the love and support she needs.
Perhaps you could find out which hospital she is going to and see if they have Teddy Love Club there... if they don't, maybe contact them and see if they can send a teddy for your friend before she goes in? Just a thought... leaving the hospital with empty arms is the most horrible feeling :(

a teddy club is the most wonderful idea, i have never thought what it would be like to come home with nothing....
kristy your friend will have trouble accepting fate but in time she will be happy for you. you are already an awesome friend to her for being there and understanding that she is most likely not ready to talk to you
i am going to feel the same way (but no where near exactly the same way) IF i get pregnant before a couple of my very very good friends that are trying very very hard (one lost a baby 2 weeks ago) i will know that they will resent me for it (like we are ALL resenting my SIL) but i know in time they will be happy for me.... i am a little the opposite i want a couple of these good friends to get pregnant before me because they want it so so so so badly

a baby is a gift you can not give but love and support you can give

My Little Moo has the pox, the chicken variety. I hope Monkey doesn't have them too Kym. We were up all night changing pjs and sheets as Tobi was throwing up most of the night. Poor little guy. Seems a bit better today, well at least no spew.
It is really hard being pregnant when you know other people are trying or not getting pregnant when everyone around you is. Unfortunately it is something that we can't control too much, even with IVF, so don't feel guilty Kirsty, give your friend some space and be there for her if you can. I too like the idea of a teddy. That was a great suggestion Lisa.
I hope you find the right job soon Kel, in the mean time enjoy your break. Go to the movies and out to lunch and do all the things you can't do or can't enjoy as much with a kid in tow.
Hope you are all well and happy. Think of me locked inside my house for the next week till Tobi isn't contagious. Just the thought of it sucks.

okey pokey - supermums i need some ideas............. last night 3am jemima woke up, the night before it was 11pm just before we were about to go to bed............ no idea why the only difference in her day is no daycare - daycare i thought would be the nights with unusual sleep due to excitment etc - we didnt give her an afternoon nap on the weekend but they are not at daycare either......
could she be cold????? could it be that easy???

You might be right Kel, it could be that easy. I am pretty sure the reason why Tobi was waking up recently was because he was cold. I have been putting on an extra blanket on him just before I go to bed as it gets a lot cooler during the night than what it is when I put him to bed.
Otherwise they say that bubs that don't get enough sleep during the day can often be harder to settle at night. So she might not be ready to drop a sleep yet.
And maybe it could be just cause she wants some extra attention from you guys now that she is away from you during the day. She's waking up to make sure that you are still there and are still there for her when she needs you.
Thats all I have got!!

thats what i thought but why doesnt she wake up during the week? she gets less sleep at daycare than she does at home?? she sleeps in every saturday morning (we have to wake her for swimming lessons)
i have just remade her bed with different blankets and a soft under sheet mattress protector thingy so she is going to have a nice warm soft bed tonight, i will fill her with food so she cant be hungry and see what happens - of course she does have two teeth cutting through right now so i guess that could be bothering her

she wouldnt settle for benji lastnight so she was in our bed - i didnt even wake when she was crying! and after heaps of cuddles from me and after she pulled my hair lots and stuffed about i just went and dumped her back in her cot and she went to sleep but then i coulldnt get back to sleep! it is insane and so random

Kel - You know, it probably could be something as simple as her being cold. When we know the nights are going to be cold, we make sure we fill Harrison up with as much warming foods as possible, and he usually has a glass of warm milk before bed... and we either dress him in his little sleeping bag (which he hates because he can't escape it) or we put an extra blankie on him... usually he sleeps right through.

Tashie - Poor little Tobi having chicken pox. Jamie had them just before he turned 1 and they were sooooooo terrible. Neither Harrison or Madeleine have had them (yet) and are both getting their immunisations for it... hopefully neither of them get it before then.
I hope he comes through it fine and without scars (Jamie has loads of scars from him itching in his sleep... even with mittens on:() Thanks for asking after Jamie too... he is doing better now thanks... he is still getting used to his new teacher and missing his old one.

target sells sleeping bags with legs.... i have not tried jemima in her sleeping bag without legs since last winter - thought she would hate it too much to be bothered.... but is the reaction not THAT bad?

didnt think of scaring with regards to early chickenpox..... it is a diesese i want to get out of the way before highschool but now not too soon..... benji had his grade seven graduation so he had to stand at the back of the class coz his surname started with W and he thinks also coz he had had chickenpox...

I bought Harrison's sleeping bags from Best and Less... they have holes in them so you can slip the seatbelt clip through... it comes in handy for mornings where I need to put Harrison in the car and it is still too cold.

i always wanted one of those too but my evil SIL had two and sold one on ebay for $1 rather than offering it to jemima so i never bothered to get one - but then when i saw the sleeping bags that have no slip feet and everything a zipper up the middle and a little button under the chin i had to get it - jem's is purple with a pink deer on it

i so hope she was just cold and then couldnt settle coz she was not in her own bed, i will mention to benji temperature so that if he wakes again and i dont (i feel like such a bad mum that i dont hear her cry in the night) he can try more blankets.

I have given my sister loads of my things... and would have gladly given them to my SIL if she was having a baby.
I have heard that cold weather can make their gums hurt more too... not sure if it is an old wives tale or not... but when it is really cold, we have found that putting some bonjela on Harry's gums has helped settle him down.
With all the SIDS stuff, I am always too cautious about over heating Harrison... but now he know's how to get out from under his bedclothes if he is too warm... he has a doona on his bed (a Cars one)that we usually take off and he has a cot blanket that we put over him... when it gets too cold, we trade the blanket for the doona.
I hope Jem has a better sleep tonight :)

KRISTY _ I was pg & due at the same time as one of my close gf's & my pregnancy ended up miscarrying & I found it very hard. NOt in the fact that she was pregnant & I wasn't, but because I felt like I was on the outer all the time & I felt she didn't tell me things about her pregnancy progressing because she felt she'd offend me. I think the thing to remember is for you to still be around & offer her the support & try not to tip toe around her. I hope that makes sense? I feel for her, I really do, she must be going through hell right now. Also, honour the babies memory, rather than just as a loss. I hoep that she is going ok. Have you heard from her? What hospy was she going to? The TLC is a great idea. My gf sent me a teddy through them when I lost my baby & it was very touching. I still have it now & stare at it & wonder. Anyway, on a brighter note, I'm glad your scan went great guns. Not long now & you'll be making your birth announcement! WOO HOO! Oh & BTW we have to meet up before you pop!

I'll BBL for personals. I have hungry monsters to get dinner ready for. I made stroganoff in the slow cooker tonight! YUMMY! Claudia has a splitting headache, almost literally. The kids were playing outside with my sister & her 2 kids & Claudia walked right into the path of the swing. Apparently knocked her flat like a tin soldier & she has a big welt across her forehead & the bruise is almost appearing before my eyes. She is bright, alert & mobile so I will just give her some Nurofen before bed to hopefully stop the headache.

oh poor silly claudia! jemima does the same thing walks up to swings and wants to play on it - not really noticing if anyone else is already doing so! silly duffer
my girl just wanders though just keeps walking away to explore - it drives me bonkers! especially at parks and stuff like that i would love to sit and watch her play or play on a rug or something but she just wants to plough on towards the boundaries no matter what they are... at a friends house today she just kept leaving the room to explore the house CONTINUALLY at one stage bringing back ALL their toilet paper off the roll..... certainly the way to make friends

i had an awesome interview today which will lead to an interview on friday at a job that is 3 days a week heaps of money and wait for it TWO MINUTES drive from jemima's daycare which is ONE MINUTE drive from my house (equals three minutes drive from my house) I did not think i would ever work closer than where i did before which was four minutes! hehehehe so HOPEFULLY it goes well on friday - it is jobshare so as long as me and the other chick get on it should work - a bit different to normal jobshare by the sounds of it it is wed, thu, fri but the other chick works mon, tue, wed so there is a day where we overlap

jem is wagging daycare tomorrow and i am taking her to swimming lessons and pub lunch! cant wait!

LISA - Thank you for sharing your personal expereience about your loss and giving such good advice. I found a beautiful guradian angel pin which had a verse on that said exactley what I wanted to express so I dropped it and a card in the letterbox yesteraday. He husband called me today and had a really good chat. I have volunteered on a crisis line as a counsellor for 7 years now and I think he really needed to talk to someone outside the situation. She gave birth last night and he was going back this morning and was deciding if they wanted to spend some time with the baby.

KEL -Erin is all over the place with her sleep pattern at the moment. I find she often lets out a cry or scream but when I go in she is actually still asleep. She has stopped going down most days for her arvo sleep so I am now trying to bring the morn sleep to about 12 oclock. She slept for an hour 45 min today but was really grizzly and tired tonight.

TASH - Bummer hun about the pox I remember getting them when I was 6 the week before I was supposed to be flower girl. Hope he recovers really soon Hun.

JAYNE - Thanks babe for your great advice as well, I certainly will take all that on board expecially not avoiding the whole subject of my pregnancy.I was reading the local paper yesterday and Perth Tafe are now offering enrolled nursing 1 day and 1 night a week for 3 years and also the Cert 4 In Health Education 1 night a week for 12 months which qualifies you for either enrolled or registered nursing at TAFE or uni.

Well girls, Got this MOPS thing tomorrow so hopefully Erin won't freak out in the Creche fingers crossed!!!

ME _ Had a busy day. Wednesdays are busy for us. Claudia is learning the parts of her face. She knows eyes, nose, mouth & hair. We are working on ears. She can also point out a duck in a picture, but it has to be yellow. She can also turn around on command& she can jump on a bed or trampoline. She also sits when she wants a drink or some food. Clever girl I have!

My friend who lost the baby called this morning I was going to call her tomorrow to give her a bit more time. She said very similar to what you said Jayne. She said" please talk about being pregnant still and the bub I want to hear it all, of course I will proably feel a little tear when yuo give birth but I want to enjoy your pregnancy too". So that was nice.

Aparantly the baby will get tested to see if they know the cause and they said they will try and do hand and foot prints for her to, but the baby was very tiny. Not sure if it was a boy or girl she has 2 boys already. I didn't want to ask and will leave it up to her to tell me if she wants to.Said I will catch up for a coffee next week.

Had my Ob appt Tues forget to mention it to you girls and bub was measuring about a week smaller but my Ob wasn;t worried at all .Erin was induced a week late and was 6 pd 8 so she thinks this baby will proably just be smiliar size. Was a nice relief.

JAYNE - Erin is obsessed with ducks!!!! She looks very confused when we feed the ones down the road becasue they are not yellow.She has started doing the parts of the face as well.

LISA - Yay for tehm finally sorting the program out for you hun. Hope it all goes well.

Erin was up from 2-4am last night god only knows why, she has gone down now at 10am for a sleep as she was very grizzly. Maybe teeth, but I blame everything on teeth. She did well at the MOPS thing yesterday. I bought her stroller along and the ladies sais she washappy as long as the stroller was near her, must be a sercurity thing. Was so nice haveing 2 hours to have a coffee, listen to speakers and have adult conversation!

KRISTY _ I'm glad that you have spoken to your friend, I have been thinking of them constantly. I hope that they name the baby & are able to get hand & footprints & hopefully even some pictures. Is she still in hospy or is she home? I'm so glad that she told you not to forget her. I found it hard because my friend wouldn't talk about her pregnancy out of respect for me, but I found that even worse, I still wanted to hear, as hard as it was, but I still wanted to know. Glad that Erin had fun today, she is funny being attached to her stroller. Hey, are you going to get a twinnie pram? How cute!!!

LISA _ Yep, my girl is spesh alrighty! She is nowhere near as clever as Jessica was at that age, btu she is clever anyway! LOL. The thing I find hardest is that she baby babbles majority of the time, where I could have a proper conversation with Jess at this stage. Oh I'm loving the one-handed typing! It's a PITA alright, I hear ya! I can't wait to hear how skinny you're going to get! I am thinkign of giving WW another try, I have bunnies coming over from the East next month & I can't afford them & Cohens! Priorities I know! :rolleyes:

Hope you're all having great days. We didn't take Claudy to swimming today because Jess wasn't well & couldn't go to creche. So we did some retail therapy instead! LOL. Both kids are not very well now, they have been perking up & going bad again all day, so I hope they are not getting sick again.
