Hi ladies,

Thank you for all your lovely messages about Smokey. It is really true how they become part of your family.

Michelle - Can't beleive its time for Bella to get her next set of needles, how fast are our bubs growing up! It is so cute there laughs, they just make your day don't they?

Lisa - What a great weight gain, I also keep getting told how much Erin looks like her Daddy. Though the other day I saw some of my baby photos and I think she looks like me when I was a bub.

Mg - Hi sweet, Abbey looked like a Princess I just loved her dress. She is too cute!!We are starting to talk about getting Erin christened it is just hard being in the country and all the friends and family in Perth. What did you do for the after party bit?
Ryn - Hopefully Ds will start sleeping for you really soon, as it can really get you down.
Smylie - How is Jemima sleeping now?

Erin after sleeping through the night for 2 weeks has decided 3am is dinner time again, though she is good and goes straight back to sleep after her feed and sleeps then to 7am. She is also really good now when we put her down at night evern if she is awake she is putting herself to sleep.

We had a lovely morning they have a program here every Wednesday at 9am they go to a different work palce around town and the people who work there read a coupel of kids stories. Of course Erin is still too young to be taken much in but she was having a good little giggle today when the postman read stories to the kids. Great for me to get out as well. We have also started going to playgroup on Friday mornings which is also good and I love ctaching up with the other Mums. Our CHN is also starting a New Mums group next weeke as there has been about 5 biubs born in the last 3 months in our little town so will be looking forward to that.

Michelle - Yay for Bella being back to her old self! Needle time already? Eek! Seems like just yesterday we were getting them done! I'm also having Abbey's done on a day DH is available - he should have to experience it at least once! Although he tried to tell me it wouldn't bother him - lets see if he can handle it as well as he thinks!

Lisa - great weight gain! WOOHOO!

Hi Kristy - that reading program sounds like such a great idea! I wish they had something similar here. They do have a reading program at the local library but doesn't start until next month and they are on a day I am back at work!!! I know how hard it is with family and friends so far away - that was why we went back to Adelaide. It meant that all of the important people here missed out but they get to see her all the time - and will be here for her first birthday and all her other milestones. I figure it evens out. For the after party bit we had a very country afternoon tea. We had a cake from the Cheesecake shop, DH and I made a million sandwhiches, my Grandma made lamingtons and butterfly cakes, we put out some hot food as well (party pies, sausage rolls and quiches). We also had plunger coffee, tea, water and soft drink available. We held the entire thing at the resort we were staying at. The service was in an undercover area near the pool (thank goodness because it POURED most of the time we were in SA! Although the rain ceased about 20 min before the service and didn't recommence again until about 2 hours afterwards!). The afternoon tea was in the same area and flowed into a little kitchen area as well. It was rather nice. The outdoor area was mostly enclosed so it wasn't too bad. We did have blankets for people's knees though. My MIL bought light purple plastic table clothes to cover the tables and one of her friends sent us flowers as a gift so we split them up and put them in the centre of the tables. We had pink napkins and plates, purple and white serving platters, and my MIL bought 20 coffee cups in a beige colour from K-Mart for 50c each! She wanted to do balloons and streamers as well but I put my foot down! I think that would have been over the top and tacky for what we were doing. We had a GREAT time though.

I am envious of all you girls with bubs sleeping through. Abbey still wakes for a feed over night. Mind you - she does go down between 6 and 7 and sleeps for about 6 hours straight at that point. THen goes straight back to sleep afterwards and sleeps for another 3-4 hours.
Abbey has been so out of sorts since we got back from Adelaide. At first I thought she was just missing al the attention from Adelaide - but then I noticed her constant chewing on everything and her increased drooling and her red cheeks - so now I'm thinking she might be teething. I have had a good feel in her mouth though and can't find anything... Maybe it is the weather...

ETA Kel: A Dedication Service can be any religion but I think is more common in Salvation Army and Anglican. Essentially, the service we had WAS a Christening except I refused to allow it to be as religious as my IL's wanted and so therefore they insisted it be called a Dedication Service. Abbey was still blessed, we were blessed, her Godparents were blessed, the Lord was thanked, she was signed with the Cross etc. If you are of differing religions (as DH and I are to his parents) you can talk to the Minister and have a more "neutral" service - most are pretty accomdating. A naming ceremony would also work. Just do a search for Celebrants in your area (they are often listed in the back of your local paper) and have a chat to them - they can help you plan a suitable ceremony. We were thinking of using a Celebrant and even contacted the Celebrant who married us - but she is a bit scary looking and I reckon she would have frightened Abbey so we opted not to use a Celebrant!
I can't help on the dream feeds - sorry. Abbey had one once (she woke wanting a feed but slept through it!) and that was 11:30 - she then wanted another feed at 1:30am. The next night she fed at 7:30pm and didn't wake until 4:30am - go figure!
