Kel: Yes Quinn looks funny with 3 bottom teeth and the one top one!
He used to bash himself with the maracas but it didn't really bother him when he did. He isn't allowed to play with them anymore though becuase with the teeth he bites the paint off and eats it, and of course I'm not so happy with that.
i had to have a biopsy on a lump in my breast on Tuesday and that was not fun!! BUt results are back and it's all fine. it's a lactating adenoma! Weirdest thing was when I fed Quinn afterwards the anaesthetic hadn't worn off properly and I couldn't feel anything - it was a very strange feeling!
Lisa - wow, can't believe there is already a crawler in this group - how very clever!! DH and I were just taking bets today on when Monkey will crawl - I think it'll be around 9 months for her, so mid Nov. Seems so far away!
Kel - You are very brave, I have lots of trouble leaving Monkey - I think we both still get separation anxiety at this stage!! Plus, she won't take milk except from me for love nor money! (We have given up on EBM from a bottle, now trying spout cup, as she will take small amounts of water from this).
I have heaps of friends who leave their babies too and I often feel like the over-protective one... but it works for us! I often get laughed at by my mothers gp (I really am the odd one out there.... part of the reason I went searching for like-minded people on net) for being the "softy" and for my parenting philosophy: avoid crying at all costs!! I figure they cry enough as it is, why risk more than necessary! Hope you are happy with the hair cut.
Catherine, hope all went well with Paed.
Ryn, I'm glad Monkey is nice and average in this group - aren't big babies the best!! You're right, there are some big babies in this thread.... must be all the love!! I'm now scared to try meat.....!
Monkey has been up to some new food last couple of days. We have just started 3 meals per day and have started some yoghurt and mashed banana for lunch, which she seems to like. Does anyone else find any tummy probs with pear though?? Monkey seems to get a bit fretful after pear; I think it may just be that its a laxative and it makes her go...?
Actually, I have some quest about food.....
Has anyone tried broccoli or spinach yet? I have made up both; we've tried spinach, but not the broccoli yet, as it looks not really mashy enough - still quite bitty. Monkey didn't really like the spinach with potato, but took to it much better mixed with carrot.
Also, has anyone tried avocado yet, or are they a bit young?
I think I probably stress about this whole food thing too much and have been fairly conservative the whole way...
We have been saying that we must turn Monkey's car seat around for a couple of weeks now and have just been a bit lazy.... tomorrow is definitely the day - woo hoo, how exciting!! She's always been a pretty good traveller, but I think she'll love it even more now.... I hope anyway....
ooooohh, my laptop is running out of battery, better run, Kym
