Jacki- We are on 3 meals a day here too and like Luke, Amber wolfs down anything you put near her! We are on roughly 5 bf a day but the last couple of days she has reduced to 4 feeds. How many are you on?
Sue- Oh how cute. I still cannot get any words out of Amber. She loves to talk but no real words yet. We are trying to say Nana to her a lot because her nana is sick in hospital but nothing as yet. Have a great time at the zoo. The grand final parade is on in the city so hopefully traffic will be ok for you.
Hi to all other ladies. Your little ones seem to be doing so well.
-
Hi girls,
have been reading but no real time to sit & write anymore! DD1 has been sick the last week - picked up a bug from childcare I think - so i've been exhausted.
your babies all look wonderful. Bun - have you thought of putting Catherine in plastic rain wear for eating? It saves on washing her clothes! I do that and also wear an apron myself and it seems to work!
DD2 is devouring everything in sight - having probably 2 tablespoons per meal, 2 or 3 times a day. Sooo different to DD1 who completely refused all food until she was 11 months old. I also give DD2 finger food and her hand co-ordination is improving dramatically!
Sleep is still a problem - she woke every 2 - 3 hours last night...but then the 2 nights before only woke once! I know new foods mean harder nights. Yesterday she was eating her sisters roast chicken so i guess that's caused her to wake all night.
Hope you're all well. Sorry for lack of personals - got a mountain of washing up as the dishwasher has packed up!
-
just heading out the door.
i gave poopy plain yoghurt and he didnt like it but he's really taken to valia banana and yoplait pear and peach yoghurt.
and he decided to spit that up on me.. WARNING: stinks like anything!!!!!!!!1
-
Yahooooo, I remembered my password.lol. Im in, and there is no stoppng me.
Prama, I could only dream how bad that would smell. I havent reached that far yet in food sampling for Jake.
Jen, Jen, Jen. I hope you have put in another order into Punpkin patch. I wanna feel your wallet shrink like mine.lol. I was told that a skirt I bought from PP was $20 something bucks at the DFO outlet and I paid $9.99.
Sue, It sounds like Jake is about where Sophie is, crying when staying on the tummy too long. Jake has just started rolling over in the cot onto his knee's. I will have to take his mobile out soon. No, he hasnt got a mobile phone...Yet.lol.
Jacki, my health nurse said milk always come's first, food second. The milk has everything they need vitamins wise etc , but the food is just to get them used to food and it's textures. Just getting the chewing and swolling down pat. I hope this helps.
It sounds like you girls are having a great time being a mummy. I hope you are all healthy and happy.
I hope to catch up with you all later. I just have to stop Jakey getting into the DVD's again. Ahhhh.
Karlie
-
hehe Karlie, I got my first order from Fed Ex today and my shopping cart is full already.... DF will kill me if I buy too much more. I was excited in showing him my purchases today and I dont think he was too thrilled.
-
Ha, ha. My DH hate's me asking his opinion on thing's, but his got quite good taste for a bloke.
So, what did ya get???? Remember I have a SON, so you have no comp' here.lol.
Oh, I got my order today too. I missed out on 2 set's of swimmwers. I also got the big girls black top like yours.
150697. It's beautiful.
-
Sue - that's so beautiful that Sophie is saying Mum. Luke isn't too much of a talker so not expecting anything soon (and I think boys are a fair bit behind in the talking department compared to girls aren't they ?)
Jen - I have been doing 4 BF a day and then a top up just before bed. DS has not dropped his late afternoon sleep. I used to BF when he woke from that then solids and then top up. Now is seems like all he wants is BF when wakes up from lunch sleep (around 3.00ish) then solids and then a final BF before about 1/2 hour before bed. He has never been much of a feeder - even back in the very early days I was feeding 6x when others were feeding around 8 or even 10x. I have an appointment with MCHN next week so will run it past her.
Roya - sorry to hear DD is sick. It just about killed me with DS was sick a couple of weeks ago so I know where you are coming from when you talk about being exhausted. Hang in there !!
Karlie - welcome back, its been ages !!! Beautiful photo of Jake.
Went out and bought a stroller today. Boy o boy our little bubs are growing so quickly.
For all you AFL supporters - enjoy tomorrow. I'm not much of a fan (I prefer to rugby union). Also have a swimming lesson with DS tomorrow morning which I am really looking forward to.
-
Hi Everyone,
I hope it is ok that i pop in here and say hello. Ive been a lurker for a while now!! and thought i should join in a little.
I had my DD Maddison (aka Maddy) feb 18th
So she is just over 7months old :)
She is an absolute angel adn my hubby and i are in love and fall more nad more in love with her every day. She has slept through the night since 4 wks old, back then it was 6/7hrs now its 12hrs a night, 6/7pm - 6/7am. She has 3 day sleeps during the day and it seems to be working well.
She still has 4 bottles during the day now at 6/7am-11am-3pm and 6/7pm
she has started to refuse the 3pm bottle or only take a small portion of it so we will start to cut it down to 3 bottles soon!!!!
She started solids at 5.5months and in the last 2/3 weeks has actaully started to like it!
She loves her vegies and loves apple and pear.
This week she tried pasta for the first time (rissoni - tiny pieces!) and really enjoyed it. Tonight she had a beef cassorole and loved it too - so time for me to get more adventerous then just vegies!!!! Thankfully she doesnt mind! She loves rissotto too - i made some for her with just the aborio rice, stock and sweet potatoe and pumpkin adn she LOVED it....
In development i think she is going great,
She first sat up on her own at 5mth 1 day old and can sit on her own without a problem now. She only falls back and hurts herself if she forgets she is sitting, its happened once in last 2/3 weeks so she is getting better!
She is just starting to stand on her own and likes to hold onto the couch! that resulted in a bump to the head this week :( She fell sideways and hit her head on the floor boards.
She took her FIRST Crawling steps yesterday (5 in total) at 7mth 1 wk old. I was pretty proud of her :D she spends a LOT of time on All 4's so im sure it wont be long till she crawls ALL over the place!!!!
that will do for now, i hope to get to know some of the other feb bubs in here :D
-
Jacki, Thanks for the nice comment on Jakes photo. What happened to the photo's in here?
I love strollers, they are so much easier to get out of the boot. I bought one the other day from Target. The one I had for Tara didnt recline, so it was a pain when she got tired. It also didnt have cup holder and a big basket like this one either.
Littleme, Wow. Jakes on the verge of crawling too. Im getting worried for our stuff though, coz he already rolls to things to get to them.
Jen, Have you seen the new spreadsheet for PP?
Check this out. You still cut and paste the 6 figure code into PP web page style code box.
Google Docs - Pumpkin Patch codes 26/9/08
She has the bottoms on the left, and the matching tops on the right.
Grandfinal weekend today. Im not fussed to watch it, coz my team got kicked out in the second final. I have also heeps to do with finishing our new retainer wall out the front.
Enjoy your weekend ladies.

Hi girls!
Sue - So cute that Sophie is saying Mum!What a clever little girl. Jasper isn't much of a talker (you are probably right Jacki), he is starting to get better at it but most sounds are more a type of raspberry blowing which he uses to sing along to 'If you are happy and you know it..' too LOL. Did you have a good time at the zoo?
Prama - yoghurt stinks; doesn't it? Jasper like to wipe it everywhere, so he only gets it in the afternoon before bath time. Yesterday he had two tablespoons of it and he still wanted more; this seems to be the first thing he really enjoys. It doesn't look like he will like his vegies/fruit anytime soon.... he takes more after his mum than I would like sometimes LOL!
Jacki - How did your swimming lesson go? I want to take Jasper too, but we live in a country town with a pool that's only open in summer and the lessons are for 18 months+. So will have to wait a little. I did buy him swimmers though, so as soon as the pool is open, we will give it a go!!
Welcome back Karli! Jake is very cute!!
Welcome Littleme - Sounds like your little princess is doing really well.
Hi to everyone else! Have a good weekend!!
-
Yep Karlie, I have it saved in my favourites! There are a lot of the NA stuff which is back on PP so even more to buy. That black t-shirt is great. In fact everything we bought was great. I got all in a size 1. Mainly for summer but also if they are on the small size she may fit them now.
I like PP because you can get other colours apart from bloody pink!
Welcome littleme.
Esme- We have taken Amber to swimming lessons from 6 months. She screamed the first couple but now loves the water. It tires her out big time too which is good for an afternoon sleep,
Must go. Time to tend to child.
-
Esme, Awww, your little bloke is just like mine. (by the look of your photo, he loves his food too.lol) He's so cute.
Jen, OH yeah. That's why I wanted a boy, so I could stop sifting through pink all the time. I must admit having a girl is great, because they have stacks more cool clothing to pick from. Boys have very limited to pick from. Check this out....They only cost $8.25.
BNWT Girls Pumpkin Patch Swimsuit - Size 5 - eBay Size 5, Clothing, Girls, Fashion. (end time 27-Sep-08 14:30:00 AEST)
If you dont know the pumpkin patch codes, you click on the 6 figure number to see the item on the link at PP. It cost $8 for post for as much as you want.

Oop's better go. Time for a glass of red.
Cheers.
-
Welcome Littleme. Sounds like DD is doing great and very exciting on the first crawling. Gosh only knows when DS might feel the urge to move - not showing any signs just yet.
Esme - swimming was great fun. DH wasn't working today so he came along and did the lesson instead of me. Luke just loved it - lots of splashing, laughing, checking out the other bubs and staring at the roof (not an awful lot of swimming going on though). Bumma on the pool not being open and having to wait - maybe fill up the bath to the top !
Karlie - I agree, DS just gone to bed - definately time for a glass of red !
-
hello littleme!! welcome!! your dd sounds like she's just doing fantastic!!
hey karlie, glad to see you back...
i didnt manage to get PP stuff, i just kept getting distracted.
speaking of which, have to run.. sorry.. getting the last of his food cooked..
xoxo

Hi girls, Jake has one of his top teeth breaking through the skin today. Yesterday was the most upset he has been for ages. I have the basics for teething, like Hylands teething tablets and panadol, but doe anyone have any other things that help too? I even put ice chips in this mesh sucking bag I bought from Coles. It helped for a little while. The wierd thing is he still is sleeping at night. He sleep from 9pm to 6am, so I guess I cant complain too much.
-
we've got bonjela..
a friend got some homeopathic tissue salts for teething, she said it worked wonders.....
-
Karlie - sorry can't help - no teethiepegs here and no signs that they are anywhere near !!
-
i thot lakshman was teething, he was restless, whingy at night, and was biting everythign. but now he's calmed down, still biting everything in sight and hard gums but not upset. so no idea when they are coming. at least i can bf without fear for a while. i hear new teeth are like razors. eeek
-
I have warned DS that his BFing days will be over if he is a biter !
However he won't take a bottle so fingers crossed he doesn't !
DS is getting pretty good at drinking from his sippy cup. He drank about 80mls of water today. He usually just gets it in his mouth and lets it run down his chin - must be finally figuring it out
-
I was on holiday up on the Gold Coast when I found out about the teething tablets. I was actually at a chemist called "Giant chemist," it was more like the the size of a supermarket. While I was waiting to get served, I heard 2 women talking about the tablets, and how great they are. I bought 1 packet to try it out, and wished I bought 2. It's so hard to find them in Bendigo. Everyone that I have spoken to who has used it says it is heep's better than bonjela. I must admit Jake has been heep's better with teething that Tara was.
-
We have the hylands teething tablets too. I found them in a chemist at a shopping centre I think. Surely a chemist at Lansell plaza or the market place would have them Karlie?
They are good tablets. I tried them (just to see what they do!) and they seem to make the mouth numb.
We dont have teeth here either but last night Amber woke up screaming twice which is very unusual for her.
Jackie- I said too when Amber gets teeth I would stop. But we are nearly to 8 months Bf which is much more than I thought we would do.
-
Some of the girls in my mothers group have been raving about the hyland teething tablets too. There is one chemist here that sells them, although DD has no sign of teeth yet so I haven't bought any. She has been quite restless lately and not sleeping or waking in the middle of the night screaming which is not like her these days, plus she ferociously chomps on everything she can get near her mouth so I think teeth may be on the way! We are off to Vic tomorrow for a holiday, yay!! It is actually to check out a town we may be moving to in country Vic that DH has had a job offer at. It sounds like a really nice place and if we like it, we will probably move there. It will be hard moving away from family (plus my mum is soooo upset), but it's a great job opportunity and in a way I would like to live somewhere other than Perth for a change! Anyway, we have a five day trip fully funded by DH's work, staying in a beautiful serviced apartment, with car hire etc, and we get to fly business class! Lucky DD, flying business class at not even 8 months of age!
-
Hi Everyone,
Its been a little while just been a bit busy with school holidays etc.
Bun -- enjoy your break. What town is it if you don't mind me asking??? Business Class no other way to travel lucky you.
JJ -- Hyland Teething tablets?? I have never heard of them. Do they chew on them???
I have been giving DD cold celery to munch on and it seems to be helping. The boys were terrible teethers so we lived on bonjela and nurofen.
Littleme welcome!!
Hello to Prama, Jacki, Karlie, Esme.
DD is having 4 bottles a day and eating 3 times a day but it varies on how much she will have at each feed. She is only having 40 minute cat naps during the day but sleeps until about 7 or 8 in the morning. ( but is also waking once overnight for a feed )
She is also sitting up really well, but I am still leaving a pillow behind her as she likes to flip backwards. I can't believe how much she has changed / developed in the last 3 weeks, she is moving so much, does circle work on the carpet and is sliding backwards all over the place. She is so interested in everything and fights going to sleep in case she misses anything. We have both bottom teeth and have cut the top eye teeth but no top front teeth as yet.
I had better go, the boys are off with Nana today and I have got so much washing, ironing, cleaning to catch up on, and its going to be such a gorgeous day!!! I love spring.
Have a great day everyone.
I will post an updated photo of Sophie a bit later;)
Sue

Hi girls, Im pritty tired today, I couldnt sleep last night.
Jen, I went to Lansell plaza and they have sold out. I rang every pharmacy in Bendigo, and no one had them.(Unless they ordered them in.) My mum & dad live in Brissy, and went to the first closest chemist and found them. They sent them by express post , and I got them the next day.
Sue , Jakes on 2-3 jar's a day and has his 4 bottles too. Is she doing that wierd rocking motion on her all 4's? Jake does it for a little while then looses his lolly.lol. His so close to crawling now.
Bun, Is ok if I ask where are you moving to?
MIL dog bit DD on the face today. I was sooo angry. I think it's because she's has a few timid dog's, and she alway's makes excuses for their unsocial behaviour. Tara is ok, and it's not that bad, hardly noticable. It still made me angry though.
Sorry about all the sourness, I think the tiredness is getting to me.
Have a great sleep ladies.
K.

We have cut a tooth here. Here I was thinking Amber would be awhile before the teeth came, I was looking at her mouth before and there is a hole. I felt the gum and felt a small sharpness. She has been waking in the night the last couple of nights, drooling a lot and the red cheeks. Now lets see how long I can BF for!
Karlie- I was in Bendigo yesterday, I should have bought you some tablets up. Did you MIL make an excuse as to why the dog bit Tara? Is she ok? That behaviour is not on. You can never trust a dog like that. Oh and Gilly is gorgeous!
Bun- Where are you thinking of moving to? Sorry just being nosey!
Sue- I'm on a new page and on the quick reply and cannot quite remember what you said. Oh I do remember you are going to post a new pic of Sophie! What are her brothers like with her?
Prama, Jacki, Roya, Ash, anyone I have missed.... HI!
-
hi girls..
bun - hope you like where you'll be going to.. it will be exciting but hard at the same time starting over w a bub..
karlie - geez, that's scary, mum's dog getting so close. if it's done it once, it could do it again.. i'd be very upset.
jj - wow a tooth!! congrats!! it's scary huh, bf with a sharp tooth.
i'll have to go ask for those tablets..
sorry for not doing more personals.. am tired. poopy's been sick w a runny nose but he still tries to be his normal self.
am going to bed soon, it's SO hot here today.
i was going to say more.. but i forget..
oh, no tooth or sitting yet... still commando crawling but starting to lift his bum and push his legs back.
-
Hi all!!
Bun - Yay on your little holiday to the Vic country side. And flying business class too! Enjoy!
Karli - So sorry to hear your DD got bitten! Relieved to hear that she is alright. Thanks for the tip on Hylands teething tablets; no teeth here yet, but I will be on the lookout for the tablets.
Jen - Let me know how you go, breastfeeding with a little toothy peg.... I want to keep breastfeeding, but are not keen on sore nipples....
Prama - How is Poopy? Did the cold get worse? Hopefully he will get over it quickly! It has been very warm here too; the airconditioning has been on already. LOL, sometimes the heater and the airconditioner in one day!!
Overhere everything ok, Jasper has been really hyper and frustrated in the last few days... I think he soo wants to crawl, but doesn't know how to just yet. It is funny, when I put him on the floor he hardly tries to crawl, but when I put him in his cot for a sleep he just goes hyper and puts his legs underneath him all the time. He has been very difficult to put to sleep for his daysleeps and only sleeps for about 0.5 hour (he is awake again as I 'speak'). He can't sit still and is constantly rocking, jumping, grunting and carrying on.. Any other bubs like this? No teeth just yet, and I don't think it is teething. Probably just another developmental leap as he starts to get interested in solids, at least he eats his rice cereal and his yoghurt now with minimal mess. No such luck with fruit or veges though...
OK, have to go get him up. Have a good day everyone!! And hi to everyone I have missed!!!
-
Hi girls,
Gee I feel horrible today. I have another cold. Dam.
DD is fine with her face, and all is forgot about. I think what the dog did wont be though.
Jen. Oh no, its started. Its pritty sad for bubs to be in so much pain. Jake has both of his front top teeth coming through at the same time. Its crappy during the day, but the nights are still ok. Im not that keen on crawling, because you know that all your gear has to be put up high, and things get recked.
Gilly the cat is my 3rd child. He loves hug's and acts like a dog. He plays fetch, comes when called and love's going for a drive.lol. Gilly has his own toy baby which he carries by the hair. Its drops it at your feet for you to throw it. He just loves to fetch it.
Prama, Jakes had that endless runny nose too. It really gets snotty when hes crying over his teeth hurting. Poor little guys :(
Esme, I know, why dont they eat their vegies? Its all about custard at our house.
Tea's ready. I catch you girls later.
Bye
-
thanks esme, karlie - poopy's cold is better, still a little snotty tho. i carry a snot cloth everywhere hahaah.
esme - poopy was like that for a bit, unsettled, not sleeping well. i thot it was teething but then it went away and not a tooth in sight. i dont know why but hten his sleeping habit changed. he now goes to bed 7.30, 8, and wakes up at 4am ish (eek!)
karlie - Gilly sounds so cute!! he's not named after adam gilchrist is he?
is everyone's baby sitting?
poopy's not sitting but starting to really get on all fours and rock himself. often he rocks and rocks and builds up so much momentum, he suddenly propells himself forwards and lands face down! but doesnt faze him one bit.. he's still commando-ing around, getting faster and faster.
i guess some bubs sit first and then crawl, poopy's crawling first then im sure he will be sitting up soon.
steve's going to be in hobart cbd for a work project from the 12th till 21st. we most likely will be going with him but i dunno if lakshman and i want to be there so long, we wont have a car and it will be boring in the apt during the day as steve will be working long hours. you can just walk around so much. not sure abt public transport and pram and all when i dont know the city. i was initially thinking of being there till sat the 18th but might come back earlier..
lakshman and i going to malaysia again on the 22nd, not that we have a lot of money, it will be from my tax return, and it's diwali (hindu xmas) on the 27th and i havent been back in 4 years. this is the only time i'll have a chance since im on mat leave. and we got a really good deal for both of us, about 2/3 of the normal fare.
anyway, im tired.. what else is new...
-
Jen - yeah on the DD's new toothiepeg.
Prama - DS is sitting really well (with the occasional face plant) however he is no where near crawling. Still not a bit fan of being on his tummy. He started rolling a couple of weeks ago from back to front so he liked being on his tummy but has since forgotten how and is focussing on eating his feet and now is back to hating being on his tummy. I got him weighed at his 8mth check up on Thursday and he is 9.86kg !!! He had better start crawling and walking soon, he is way too heavy for me to keep carrying. Aparently big bubs are pretty slow to do that sort of stuff so looks like I need to join the gym.
Karlie / Esme - DS is eating everything I offer him (must take after his father). He only has to see me in the kitchen holding one of his bowls and he starts carrying on and whinging to be fed ! (no wonder he weighs nearly 10kg). Since he is a pretty keen eater I am making sure I don't feed him too much as I don't want him to drop off too much breast milk at this stage.
Bun - how could you think of leaving Perth !
Just sitting here having a glass of wine. Beautiful DS tucked up in bed, DH waking the box and I am cooking batches of bubs food for the freezer. Who knew Saturday nights could be so fun.
I mentioned to MHCN at 8mth check that DS doesn't really babble much. He used to but is pretty quiet most of the time - he laughs, whinges and cries but doesn't babble away to himself. She said not too worried but to keep an eye on it. (Don't you just hate hearing those words). What's everyone's bubs like???
-
Jacki - Jasper is the same; doesn't talk much. Has just taken to 'talking' when we are reading a book or singing a song, but otherwise he is quiet or whinges...
Prama - Yay on going to see the rellies again!!! Oh I so wish we could go again too, but I told my parents not until DS and his brother or sister (no not for a while yet ;)!) are at least 4 years old!! So they might have to come to visit us!!! Too long a plane trip with mobile little kids and too expensive. Jasper only sits with me sitting behind him, he still falls to the side or lets himself fall backwards, so crawling here first too I think. He is only just starting to rock on all fours but then face plants too; he doesn't know how to move his arms yet. That will come all too soon I think...
Jasper is in the process of changing his day sleeps too; we just had some kind of routine going again, and now he is just not going down anymore... This morning he woke up at 4 as usual, but didn't want to go back to sleep again after his feed; he was playing in his cot for about an hour before he went back to sleep. He woke up at 7.30 (oops, 8.30 daylight saving) and then didn't go back till 11, so hopefully we will get back into some kind of routine soon...
Hi to everyone else and wishing everyone a great long weekend!!
-
yeah, lakshman sits up if i sit him up, not pulling himself up. he can manage some seconds on his own if i slowly move away, then if he waves his arms or kicks his legs, he topples over.
he woke up at 2.30 again this morning and didnt settle till 4.30, which is the usual unsettled time even before daylight savings..
at least jasper plays in his cot for a long while, poopy does fora short while then cries..
oh dear
i better go, someone's sleepy.. hopefully he'll go down this time!
oh jacki - hurray on the weight!!
-
Hi Everyone!
Its so nice to read that you are all doing so well!!!:D:D
Everything is good here, Noah has two bottom teeth coming through, they cracked the skin about 4 days ago, he has been quite good, not too ratty! He is also pulling himself up to stand...I hate it...he scares me when he does it as he wobbles..lol..and it scares me because he is growing up tooo fast!:o:o
Hi Prama, Awesome to hear that you are off overseas again soon! Lucky thing you!! Lakshman sounds as gorgeous as ever!
Hi Esme, Noah has changed his routine a bit too :( He likes to stay up longer then usual, so his sleep times have varied again!
Hi Jacki, Yay on the rolling!! Awesome weight too!! Noah isnt a babbler either, he will say bub bub if prompted too, but otherwise he just whinges..lol
Hi 2please, I hope you start to get over your cold soon!!! Oh gee I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your DD..I hope that she is doing okay!
Hi Jen, Woohoo on the tooth!!! Goodluck with the b/fing..I hope it dosent get too painful for you!
Okay better leave it here, time for bed!
Hope your all having a great weekend!
-
Hi Everyone,
It is so hard to find the time to post now. I guess thats what happens when you have 3 lol
Minky -- Noah is pulling himself up already?! Wow. Look out he will be off soon
Prama -- have you decided how long you are going to stay in Tasmania for? DD is also waking around 4am but she usually has a drink and then goes back to sleep.
Esme -- my boys didn't babble a lot but boy are they making up for it now he he
Jacki -- he he sounds like a great Sat Night to me. I am a bit past the pub scene but dinner and a movie would be all right
Karlie -- hope you are feeling a bit better. It is crappy when you don't feel well and have to look after other people. Take care of yourself.
JJ -- The boys are really good with Sophie. They are really starting to interact with her, now she is moving a lot more they are wrestling her (very scary) and trying to pick ker up and take her places (luckily she is a bit heavy for them to lift he he) She absolutely loves it when they pay attention to her and laughs and turns on the charm. It is gorgeous to watch.
Well better go
Back to kinder this afternoon have to do the usual clean up and then the mad dash to get to kinder on time
Have a great day everone
Sue
