Hi everyone
It's almost surreal to think that all the babies are now turning 10 months old. Is anyone else clucky for another one? I think the memory of all the pain and discomfort is staring to fade... Luckily I'm breastfeeding too otherwise who knows when the next one is along!
Thanks for the good luck wishes. I reread my message and probably should have mentioned that it's my DS#1 Jacob's father that I'm having issues with. Luckily I've got hubby to vent to about it all!
I took Jordan to the doctor's the other day, he's been worrying me a bit. Kinda zones out occasionally and the other night one side of his face was slack. I was just telling myself that it's cos he's tired... sleeping on that side... etc. But it was so scary. It is possible that he is having seizures, so the next time it happens I'm going to record it and take him straight to the hospital. Even if he's fine by the time we're out the door I'm still going.
Esme - Jasper sounds adorable. Jordy doesn't bother with pointing to things, he just charges up and takes it! Or attempts to leap toward them whilst being carried. Jasper sounds like he's doing really well with his eating and makes me less concerned about Jordan being so picky.
Jen - I hear ya on the late night breastfeeds. It's so easy to just grab them and go sit back down before they even wake up properly. All the bubs must be going through a growth spurt and teething, cos it seems like a few babies are waking up more frequently too.
uhoh barking dogs have interrupted the rest of this message. I'm having such a hard time keeping Jordan asleep, he now only wants one sleep a day. I have to kick myself and get up and get back into a routine. Maybe buy an alarm so its not "me" that is saying it's bedtime!
Well everyone have a good day and enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi everyone. We are finally back online so I can now check up on everyone! DH is now in Vic and we are missing him. We have sooo much to organise and it all needs to be done while DH is away so I am feeling pretty stressed right now. That cold we had lasted aaages but is thankfully gone now. The last two nights DD has been so clingy - will fall asleep on me but as soon as I try to put her down she clings onto me soooo tight and screams if I put her down (after prising her little hands off me!). It took three hours to get her down the other night, and last night I gave up and just let her sleep with me. I think it's to do with DH being away - she must miss him the poor little thing.
prama - yay on poopy crawling and taking steps! We had secret santa at MG today too - it was heaps of fun and we got some great pressies. Our MG has now become a playgroup which is so much easier now that the kids are getting so mobile. And I am another one who hasn't started Christmas shopping - I must get onto that!!
jen - woo hoo Amber on crawling!! I hope she starts to sleep better soon.
esme - I'm glad to hear DS is going so well with solids now. I think I will have to try cottage cheese sandwiches and see if I have any luck!
coer - I hope XP stops hassling you, what a pain, esp around Christmas. I can hardly believe how olds our bubs are either, it has gone too quick! I visited a newborn the other day and while I am not ready for another one yet, I can definitely see myself starting to get clucky again!!
I had DD weighed today and she is only just 8kg. I feel terrible, like I am not feeding her enough as her growth has almost plateaued whereas before she was going great. Now she is below the 25 percentile. I don't know what to do to make her eat better though, I have tried everything!!
-
Happy 10 months Catherine!!!
Big ; it is so hard if they don't want to eat, is it? You can't force it, it is up to them... She will eat when she need it, Bun. As far as I know it is normal for their weight to plateau around this age as they get so much more mobile. My MCHN nurse said that it is not the norm for bubs to be eating full meals around this age and that it is more about trying different things. She said just to feed them what they eat and keep offering new things in between. They are still BF, so they'll get what they need from you.
Sorry to hear that she is so clingy; makes it all the harder for you too. Not long to go now before you can move to Vic... All will be better when that's done. Jasper is starting to get a bit more clingy too and does the 'face hiding' when he gets shy; very cute, but he starts to prefer hanging off me when DP is home too, so DP is a bit disappointed. I will make sure they get a lot of boy's time on the weekend!
Hi to everyone!!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for no posts recently just a bit busy. I have been reading but no real time to sit and type.
We are all well, Sophie is still commando crawling and into everthing gates have gone up! She is also waking overnight for a feed and then would like to play afterwards thanks very much he he. We have our final week of Kinder this week and a kinder Christmas play on Friday it will be very cute and sad as we are off to school next year.
Have to go
Hi to everyone will try and drop in later
Sue

hi girls,
It's been a long time since i've posted but i'm so glad i've just read all your recent posts!
Amelie has been having the hardest time with sleep - and now it seems that it MUST be developmental phase as so many of you are going through the same thing! I don't feel so alone now. She's waking around every 45 mins - 1 hr through the night for the last 8 nights. I took her to see an osteo today who said from today onwards, she will be better.
Do you know what? Tonight she's been asleep for 1 hr 20 mins already so improvement - i wonder when she will wake.
Food wise, everything is going in. Sooooooo different to first time round with DD1.
Amelie is crawling at light speed and really trying to stand up too on furniture.
For those of you who are thinking of number 2, DD1 was 10 months old when i got pregnant with Amelie and was breastfeeding her many times a day - including probably 2 or 3 times at night too. So Coeur, it's no guarantee you won't get pregnant just because you're feeding!!
Bun - please don't stress about Catherine's weight. Just as adults we're all different sizes, same is true for little ones. My DD1 didn't even start to eat (more than 1 teaspoon) until she was 11.5 months old. She weighed around 8 kg at 1yr and is still on the 15% for weight/height. But she eats like a horse now - anything and everything. Just got a petite frame and fast metabolism, i guess. Provided you're offering healthy food, she'll just take what she's ready for and needs. Good luck with the move - it must be tough for you at the moment.
Hi to everyone else -sorry not enough time for personals but i love reading what your babies are up to!
take care,
Roya

Hi guys,
Yes it has been a little quiet around here, hasn't it? We have been flat out planning the move to Vic - it is just crazy planning an interstate move without DH and with DD being as clingy as she has been lately. I think this clingy stage may finally be passing - at playgroup yest she was back to her old self and playing with the other kids again without just wanting me all the time, plus she has been sleeping sooo much better the last couple of nights. I thought I was going to go crazy for a while there when she wasn't sleeping and I had sooo much to get done to get the house ready to rent, everything packed etc. Now the boxes and cars have gone, the house is ready to rent and I think we have tenants. I am staying with mum and dad so things are much easier now and DH gets back tomorrow!
esme and roya, thank you so much for reassuring me re DD's weight, I was feeling terrible for a while there. She is now the smallest at playgroup and there is nothing I haven't tried to get her to eat. She just prefers boobie milk! She is happy and looks v healthy, so hopefully she is fine. I was always underweight (until I had DD!), so it is probably just normal for her if she is like me.
DD has been so gorgeous lately. She can make a fish sound when you ask her too, she can pull herself up on things, always waves hello and goodbye (before she would only do it sometimes), she claps on demand and is just so smiley, happy and chatty all the time. Mum and Dad are loving us staying with them but so so sad that we are taking her away. There are going to be a lot of waterworks I think.
I hope everyone is going well and almost ready for Chrissie!
Love Bun xx

hi girls
ive been meaning to post for ages but just forget when im online and only remember when im offline!
sue - steve's family comes over to our place, the same every year and we have a long barbi.. it's nice and relaxing. not too much cooking to do.. hope the weather is good.
hope you feel better hun. xoxoxo
bun - poopy's small too, 10% only height/weight.. im sick of everyone telling me how wee he is or if he's only 6mths etc. he must have a high metabolism rate, he loves his tucker. he's not tall either..
but he's doing very well for his age and is a happy baby so i cant ask for more.. maybe for him to sleep thru the night hahaah.
poopy's doing well, he smacks his lips and swallows his saliva when he sees his food. and if he sees his bowl and i put it in the microwave, he cries cos he thinks it's gone!
he's crawling everywhere on all fours, sitting by himself, cruising w one hand and starting to let go and then falling onto his bum. he's been throwing stuff from the cot/high chair and see them fall. he's also holding on to things in both hands and forgetting he's got stuff and trying grab more things!
he's also chattier, saying ammeh (amma = mum) and mum-mum(food).. often together.. i think he thinks im his food provider, ahahaah. im glad he can say mum-mum when he's hungry now.. makes it a bit easier. he also says appa (dad), and a few other words.
anyway, ive had a bad couple of weeks.. i heard from work.. well i contacted them.. and they said i'll have to come back 5 days, i wanted to do 3 days a week. so i dunno what to do... not the best of times to find a new job, and i dont want to be away fr poopy so many days. work cant/dont want to hire new staff, tehre's a freeze cos of the economic crisis and so they cant have someone cover my other days. and im annoyed cos htey should have told me this before...
i start first week of feb, but im really not happy abt doing 5 days. i was really looking fwd to doing 3 days, i want to spend time w my baby, and not want him to be w day care all 5 days. it's going to be so hard, being away from him 5 days. i feel so guilty, i feel like im a bad mother for putting him in day care for 5 days.. but i havent got a choice....
i wish my mum was here, at least she can help look after him and he will have 'home' time even tho im working compared to daycare...
sorry for my whinge...

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Sorry, haven't had much time and energy to post. I found a lump in my breast last week and had to have an US/mammogram. The results came back with a high likelyhood of cancer, so the GP send me for a biopsy on Friday. So relieved to tell you that the results came back clear for cancer yesterday! The lump seems to be a badly inflamed duct and will have to be monitored monthly for a while, but at least we will be able to enjoy Christmas to the full this year!
Happy first Christmas to all the bubs!
-
esme - gees, how scary. I am so glad to hear all is ok, what a relief! And yes, now you can enjoy Christmas without that hanging over your head, that must have been an agonising wait. Is it sore? I hope it heals up ok soon sweetie
prama - I am so sorry to hear that work are making you go back fulltime, that will be so hard. I'm not sure that they can make you go back FT if the job can be done PT, I think the legislation doesn't allow it. Is there any reason why your job can't be done PT (other than simply being a hassle for your employer)?. I would look into it if I were you because I'm not sure if that's right. And them not even letting you know til now is pretty unfair too. I hope you can sort something out. Can any of Steve's family help out looking after Poopy?
I just wanted to wish everyone a happy first Christmas with your gorgeous little bubs! I hope you all have a lovely day and that Santa brings you lots of pressies!!
Love Bun and Catherine xx
-
esme - so glad you're ok.. that's so so scary...
bun - well, the policy at work is that if the job can be done PT they will allow it. but because there's a freeze on new headcount and extending contractors, they cant/wont hire someone to cover my other days. mums have always been allowed to work part-time. it's only because this whole economic crisis that they are hv decided to freeze new headcount.
my bad luck...
im hoping to negotiate something better once i get back into work... sigh.. it's so unfair

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!
Can't believe this time last year we were big, and hot and very pg!!! We didnt know what our little miracles would look like and how they would change our lives and all the love they would bring....
What a year it's been, good and bad, but all worth it, each morning when we see our gorgeous darlings....
xoxoxxoxo

Merry christmas everyone, I hope you all had a fairly relaxing day.
Well after weeks of encouraging Jordan to say dadda, he called me Mama yesterday! He would point to DH and I after hearing our respective titles, and he could say the syllables (duddud and mummummum) but he looked straight at me and said "Mama" and came over looking for a feed! Precious. Still trying to get him to say Dadda still, but half the time he thinks we're asking him to dance!
-
Happy new year everyone!!!! Hope everyone had a good NYE. I have to admit I went to bed at 9.30 and slept straight through....
Prama - Hopefully work will start to hire again soon; will be so difficult to be away from him 5 days per week... Would there be another position you can do that is parttime, maybe swap with someone who wants to go fulltime? How is Lakshman going; is he walking already?
Coeur - So cute that Jordan called you mama! We are still working on words; he has a sound (sounds like 'air') for his ear and he has said 'empah' for grandpa a couple of times and 'a definate 'bah' for banana. Besides this nothing that resembles mum or dad :(.
Not long to go now and the first bubs will be 1 year old... amazing how fast this year has gone by. The first couple of months with bub went so slowly and now he is nearly 12 months already! He has really changed into a little toddler. He started cruising on Xmas day and he is standing so much straighter and more confident too. I am starting to think what to give him for his first birthday; a kids table with chairs, clam shell (sandpit/water), fisherprice swing (he loves the swing in the park) or a proper toybox he can use as a bench. What are you buying your little one for his/her first birthday?
Hi to everyone else!

Happy New Year everyone!
Esme - the most loved present we received for our DD1 when she turned 1yr old was a push-a-long truck which she started off pushing but then now rides around on it pretending it's a motorcycle/firetruck/police car (whatever takes her fancy) - and she's 2.5 yrs old this week! She's used it everyday for the last 18 months near enough.
-
Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!
Hope everyone is well.
We are all well. DD is sleeping through again which is fabulous -- going to bed around 7.30 ish and getting up anywhere between 6am - 8am. Can't complain. She is still commando crawling but is starting to pull herself up in things and can get in and out of her ball pit and her brothers chairs!
All three of my angels got totally spoilt for Christmas naughty Santa, so we have been playing lots and have had a nice break together.
My Maternity Leave officially finishes today and I start back at work tomorrow. I work 4 days a fortnight usually one afternoon on a weekday each week and then every second weekend. I can and can't believe the time has gone already -- while I have been doing some casual work now I can't say 'NO' when the phone rings.
I am not sure how its going to work just yet with Benjamin at school but we shall see.
Prama -- thinking of you -- hopefully you will be able to negotiate some hours that suit you better. Its a juggle but I am sure you will work it out.
Esme -- so glad you are ok, its an awful feeling thinking you could have Cancer. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Bun -- have you moved yet??? Sorry can't remember when it was happening.
Coeur -- its just gorgeous when they say Mumma. DD is saying Mum Mum a lot it makes me just melt.
I can't decide what to get Sophie, perhaps a gold bangle or something she can keep. We bought the boys these great chairs from Freedom for their 1st birthdays so possibly a pink one of those. They are round and have metal legs the boys love them and they have been used everday and are super comfy to have a little nap in.
I am feeling a bit sad its my Birthday on Thursday and I found a lot of grey hair last week so I promptly took myself to the hairdresser and had it bleached out he he. What will I be like when there is a 4 and an 0 instead of just a 3 and a 7 ( sorry don't like birthdays)
Hi to everyone I have missed
Enjoy the sunshine

Hi girls, Sorry I cant chat for long DS is getting teeth, and is flipping out if I leave his sight.
DD and DS had a wonderful christmas, and got way too may gifts off everyone. In the end DD couldnt make up her mind what to play with, and started opening new boxes of toys. I found that such a pain coz of all the plastic ties and boxes which DS kept putting in his mouth.
Jakes almost walking alone. His already pushing his gobble up hippo around on 2 feet.Yikes.
Esme, DS is getting a Radio flyer ranger wagon for his birthday. It comes with a back rest and a seatbelt so they can be safely buckled into it while getting pulled around. Im hoping as he get's older he will be the one pulling it around. God help the dog.lol. I think around 5 years worth of possibe usage will be ample.
Sue, I just coloured my hair yesterday and said to DH how crap would I look if hair colour wasnt around. Im actually 32 and most of my friend are 35 + and I cant tell the diff' between a 40 year old and a 36 year old. I forget about ages, all my friend are young at heart.
Ooop Ds is calling.
Hope all you ladies are having a great new year..
Take care
Karlie

Hi guys!
Glad to hear everyone had a great Chrissie and New year.
We are just hanging around in our serviced apartment in Vic right now waiting for our furniture to arrive so we can finally move into our house! This has been the longest move ever - DD and I have moved around 7 TIMES in less than a month! I am so desperate to get settled down. DD also got quite sick last week and has been sleeping really badly too. While she was sick she didn't sleep for 5 nights in a row - I nearly lost it completely from lack of sleep! Other than that Catherine is going really well - she is cutting her fifth tooth and is such a happy little girl and she actually slept through last night! She understands so much right now but is already starting to throw some pretty full on tanties. I think we are in for a hard time once she hits the terrible twos!
prama - gees, that is bad luck. I hope you can change to PT sometime soon. It will be so hard being away from Poopy so much. I am thinking of looking for some PT work in the next couple of months once we are settled in a little, and am already thinking of how hard it will be to put our little ones into daycare. I think in the long term it is probably not so bad - good chance for socialising with other kids etc, but I know I will be a wreck the first time I drop her off! Sometimes I think it is harder on the parents than it is on the child!
couer - woohoo on DS saying mummy! I can't wait for DD to start talking, I bet she will say Daddy first though!
esme - i love all the gifts you are thinking of - they are pretty much exactly what I am considering for DD's first birthday! We need to start doing some shopping soon as DD's birthday is not far away now! It is so hard to believe they are almost 1 already, where did the time go?
sueby - happy birthday! My birthday is approaching too and I am not looking forward to it either, it is the big 3-0 and I can hardly believe I am almost past my 20s! Eeek! I hope you have a good day :)
2 please - woo hoo on jake almost walking!
Hi to everyone else :)

Hi All,
Man.....i have been away from here for so long I can't possibly read what you have all been up to.
Bun, I did read a bit about Catherine being tiny and thought I'd make you feel better by telling you that Zoe only wieghs 6.4kgs at just over 10 months!!!! hehe. No one seems too worried about it. She's happy, healthy, strong and doing all the things she's supposed to be doing, so I am not worrying about it. In fact, it's great cos I can still carry her with one arm and i can even drop her on the ground using only one arm still!
I guess a lot of us are heading back to work now huh. Sorry to hear about your troubles Prama. I am starting back on the 23rd Feb. Zoe will be in childcare two days a week and with my mum one day a week. Not really looking forward to leaving Zoe, but I am looking forward to using my brain again!!
anyway....sorry i couldn't catch up properly. I just don't find the time to get up here much anymore and when i do, i write some emails, have a squizz at FB and then have to scurry back to bubs!!! Oh well....i will still try to pop in whenever I can.
keep up the good work girls!

Hello everyone!
Roya - I love the idea of a push along/ride on truck! We have some in the local library, will take Jasper there to see if he likes them. So many things I would like to buy for him... He got a fisherprice swing from Santa and now we can't go into the backyard without him having a swing in it; he absolutely loves it.
Sue - Yay on Sophie sleeping through! Jasper is starting to do the same, but in the process decided that 5.20 is a good time to wake up.... I now let him play in his cot till about 6 and get up after that. I have decided to cut out the night feeds so he could be getting used to that. I also just had another birthday, lucky the big 3 0 was last year (isn't as bad as it sounds, bun). Wouldn't it be great if we could just skip birthdays after 25?
Karlie - how are Jake's teeth going? Hopefully he (and you) will get some relieve soon. Jasper still hasn't got any teeth at all. Does the ranger wagon come with a dogharness ;)?
Bun - Hope your furniture will arrive soon! It will be so hard all that moving around with a little one. At least it will be a Xmas you won't forget! Jasper is starting the tantrum thing too; hopefully they will have it out of their system by the time they turn two.... How is Catherine going with her solids? I found a nice recipe here on BB that Jasper loves; spinach, ricotta and egg in the oven; he loves it and he can eat it as fingerfood. Even though he has decided that it is a lot easier if mum puts it in his mouth...
Danda - Carrying 6.4 kgs around sounds a lot better than over 9 kgs... My shoulder hurts a lot, because DS likes to throw himself around a fair bit!
OK, time to go for now. Better hang the washing before DS wakes up...
-
I thought no one had been talking in this thread...
Now I realise that the thread must have changed over when I was away because you have been talking I'm just not subscribed :(
I'm sad now, sorry for abandoning you all, I didn't mean to!!
Going to write really big long post now...
xoxo

hi girls,
sorry this is a me post...
i havent posted cos we've been at tresillian over the week, but poopy got sick, suspected gastro so he got expelled on thurs... haha
i found some personality traits seeing him going thru the settling process and playing with other babies. he's been very stubborn in accepting the new routine, but seems to be getting better. slowly but i t hink we will get there, and he will learn to go to sleep himself w/o being rocked etc.
the other thing i found when he's playing w other children is that he loves playing with all the kids, and goes around playing with each one of them, but at the same time is independant and will go off and explore other things by himself. the downside i found is that he's got toy envy.. he wants to play with whatever toy another baby is playing with!!
he's starting to self-settle. i feel a lot more confident and now can distingush his different cries, just plain protest or him being upset. and know when to go in and comfort him. it is tough love, bron.. but it also taught us that he has to learn to accept what he teach him, instead of the other way round. it was really hard at the start, my heart would tear into a million pieces w each cry but i got more confident and understood how he's feeling. it wasnt so bad as the nurses stood w me outside the door and explained to me each time, what he was going thru and we didnt let him cry for more than 5 mins.. it was all up to me when i wanted to go in.. and tehy guided me. that's the SS in brief...
as for his other routine, they said at his age of almost 11 mths, it should be like this...
bf before bfast
bfast
sleep for 1.5 hrs
play
lunch
formula
sleep 1.5 hrs
play
dinner
bath
bf
cuddles/story
bed.
im going to bf morning and night and ff in the afternoon as he will be in daycare.
im sick now.. vomitting all night Friday and some yest, poopy's better, only one vomit yest but still not wanting to play a lot and just wants lots of cuddles...
my poor little itty bitty. he's having jus a little to eat, mostly bread and plain rice. no formula at the moment, so fully bf. formula will make his gut worse, cos it's dairy.
poopy still fights his self settling during hte day but at night he seems to go down ok. he slept from 6.30pm to 5am. i saw on the baby monitor he stood up and whinged a bit for a couple of minutes or so and then lay himself down which he has never done. and went back to sleep till 6.. so that's something good.
ash - dont worry, you've had so much happening.. and ive done the same too.. thot nothing was happening but a new thread had started and i didnt get any notifications...
-
Well... where to start???
Looks like I dropped off the face of the planet in September. Which sounds fairly accurate as that is when things started going downhill. I'll give as brief a update as I can but be arned I'll probably still write an essay .
Alex...
Well September Alex would have been seven months old. He had three teeth at seven months, was rolling from tummy to back, could sit up unassisted if I sat him down, and was starting to become interested in toys.
The journey to crawling was thanks to the Roll-a-rounds that he continuously chased after. He started off pushing himself up on his feet and then throwing his body forward - almost like the commando crawl in reverse. At this stage he would only get himself from one side of the room to the other but enough to keep him entertained with his balls. He started crawling at about 9 months when he made a little friend ho could move faster than him. He still crawls funny, uses his left knee and his right foot. I think the foot propels him further forward or something. He chases things everywhere and I can't get five seconds peace. He now even follows me to the toilet and then, of course proceeds to pull himself up on my legs and stand there.
He is standing and pulling up on furniture very independently, and he can take up to 10 steps on his own, which is very exciting, but at this stage we have to hold him up and then he takes off. He is becoming more an more steady by the day, so I would say he will start letting go of furniture and scooting by himself soon enough. I'm tearing my hair out just thinking about him walking.
Loves balls and more balls... has just learnt to bounce, it's quite cute and it makes me giggle.
He has eight teeth and is currently cutting at least one, but I think both bottom molars.
Speech wise he is still a babbler. He can say dadada and bababa and rarara. He can sort of say hello (thank you INTG), and he also sort of says Ta. But the 'ta' comes out as anything he feels like, including 'gok' at one point. But we sort of look at it as it's great that he is eliciting a response and I am very proud of him.
We finished breastfeeding at 9 1/2 months but I'll go into that more below, I was really keen to keep trying as I still have heaps of milk but even if I could get him to suckle he no longer likes the taste of breastmilk :(.
Umm I think that is it for him.
Me.
Ummm I turned 21 in September, which isn't particularly exciting. Guess it made me feel more validated as a parent however as I'm an 'adult' now. Anyway, no big deal. As you know I had been on AntiDepressants since July, but I took them pretty sporadically. Major issues with denial.
I trust you girls to not make judgements here, but normally I don't share my PND story outside of the private forum, so this is a bit of a heartspill for you...
I don't actually remember a lot of what happened with me betwen my birthday and November, but it was horrible. Even though I had been taking the Zoloft regularly, I deteriorated mighty fast. I was at a point where I was wanting to strangle Alex and had serious thoughts about not only harming him but also myself. I, at times, would feel nothing and even went through a phase where I refused to tell Anth that I loved him because I just didn't know if I felt it.
My house fell apart. I stopped doing dishes and washing on a daily basis, and I would only drag myself out of bed to shower every 3-4 days  If Alex cried when he woke up I would physically hurt him by squeezing too hard when i picked him up. I didn't even realise I was doing it. I even once tried to smother him with a sheet. I was really aggressive, angry and not myself. The reminder of things that happened really scared me.
I hated him breastfeeding. I hated the dependance. when he would refuse a bottle and would have to have boobie I would sit there clenching my fists and crying. At times I would cry just because I felt so pathetic and that only made me feel worse. I really withdrew from the world. I hardly spoke to my family, my mum and anthony and I had started to fight regularly. I couldn't stand Anthony touching me, talking to me, hearing him say 'I love you' made me cringe, and if he breathed on me I wanted to vomit.
I had terrible insomnia and struggled to get to sleep until 5am most mornings, with Alex up at 7:30.
Somehow I soldiered on until November and then had a major breakdown. I called my local clinic and said i needed an urgent appt with my GP and then called PANDA and cried my eyes out. I talked to her for about an hour and then she called my GP so she could explain some things before I got there. I ended up being there for 1 1/2... How embarrassing when I only got booked for a 15min appointment. Anyway, we talked about everything, and we tried to get in touch with a mother/baby unit. Got the run around and had to talk to this other clinic, who I have a major dislike for (she insinuated that as a young couple we should of had an abortion. I was livid), but made an appt for the next day. Went in there talked, to to different people and then they said they needed to make more calls, go home and theyd call us back... WELL....
Who should call when we got home but Child ****ing Services. Behind our backs. I won't even bother going into my rant here but my psychiatrist said that it wasnt necessary. I was furious. They claim they did it because they were worried that Alex was bad for my safety and not the other way around but it certainly doesn't come across that way. Anyway...
Landed a spot a W'bee MBU and it was a Godsend. My meds were doubled :o over the course of my three week stay, psychiatric counselling, group therapy, baby bonding, learnt that i have many many mother issues... I'm still **** scared somedays but I am infintely better. The change is leaps and bounds more than I expected. I have written an extended journal of my stay but won't bore you with it ;)
Then we went on holidays to NSW (which was delayed by two weeks because of my hospital admission) and decided that we're moving there. Will be living around the corner from Anth's parents in Yass and although we will be far from our friends, I will at least have much needed family support. We move next weekend. Currently on the hunt for jobs and feeling very anxious about it all but I know it's the right thing to do.
Since then we have had Christmas and New Year, all way too hectic for my liking, but fun nonetheless.
Okay that's me over with, I will try catch up with hat's been going on soon! Please link me to pictures of your gorgeous babies. I can't believe some of them are turning one soon, how time has flown....

Prama darl I hope you and L are feeling better soon. Hope the stay achieved what you were wishing for.
You look organised I haven't even bothered with the dread R word in our house

Hi ladies. Sorry have been MIA. We have been plodding along here. What to report...
Amber still only has 2 teeth. I have a feeling she is going to get a whole lot at once. I have bought a baltic amber teething necklace from ebay in anticipation. Amber still is not sleeping through the night. She was such a great sleeper until she turned around 6-7 months. She now wakes a couple of times a night. Sometimes we can get her to settle with putting the dummy in and sometimes I have to get her up for a feed. She also has had 2 colds in a row and possibly the third in a row is on its way. So who knows. Other than that, she is crawling as fast as she can everywhere. She is crusing when she can and has a strong personality. She eats like a champion and we are still managing to bf. I would like to get to 12 months and then I will reassess. I think possibly we both could have had enough soon.
So thats it with us.... Enough of us being selfish.....
Ash- My god you have gone through a lot. I had no idea how bad the PND got for you. Hopefully your move up north with give you the support you deserve. Would it be rude to ask about how the support from your family has gone? You must have a keeper in Anth! LOL I have been looking at your pics on FB and you seem to be smiling again and that is so lovely. All of the girls are here if you ever need to vent. Oh and your little man is a handsome one.
Prama- I am glad you have learnt from your sleep school stay. It is probably something we should do too. When do you go back to work? It is such a bugger that you cannot go back part time. Hopefully they can come to their senses and you will be able to go part time soon. I hope you feel much better soon.
Bun- Welcome to VIC! Hopefully you can get settled into your house and get back into your routine soon. Hopefully Catherine is sleeping during the night for you and you are getting your much needed rest.
Danda- Hi to you and Zoe. 6.4 kg is certainly much better to carry than nearly 10 kg! Good luck when you go back to work.
Karlie- I was in benders over Christmas. We made the mistake of going to the market place on Boxing day. people EVERYWHERE! How is Jakes teething going?
Well DD wants my attention. Sorry for no more personals..... Hello and sorry to everyone I missed.

ash - if you're in syd, lemme know.. would love to meet up!
jj - amber's doing great!!!
LOL - Poopy's must be the only toothless wonder here!! :D
oh. poopy's still in the 10% for height and weight. last mth he as 8.5kgs and 70cm. im taking him to the clinic on thurs..

Prama - No, Jasper doesn't have any teeth either! Can't see any sign of them coming through. Hope you two are feeling better soon. Lucky you still got to stay at Tresillian for a while and hopefully the new routine is going to work for you. It sounds very similar to what we are doing and Jasper has been sleeping through the night for the last couple of weeks, so :fingerscrossed:...
Ash - so good to see you back here! You have been through so much; I really admire you for having the strength to find help and hope you will keep on getting better! As Jen said, we are all here for you. I love your pic of Alex, he is such a cutie. Jasper likes playing with his ball too and yesterday learned to bounce the ball. He is cruising and sometimes standing without holding on for a couple of seconds.
Jen - Hear you on the BF. I am the same; aiming for 12 months and start weaning after that. I have started to cut out the nightfeed a couple of weeks ago and that is going ok. We have 3-4 feeds left during the day, but I have had enough, I just want my body back. Lucky Jasper loves cowsmilk and he doesn't feed to sleep, so hopefully it won't be too much of a drama.
Hi to everyone else!

Hi girls,
Im off to make a doctors appointment soon. I have been having pain in my stomach for months now , and they wont seem to leave. I feels like a stich when you run after you drink water, except it can be under your rips or under your belly button etc, all different spots. I dont know if its stress causing it, or the way im eating, but its starting to bother me now. It seemed to start when i fell pregnant with Jake. Ive had a cat scan, but it showed nothing.
Jakes got 8 teeth and sleeps from 7am-7pm. Hes actually still asleep now.
Ash, Prama and Cookiemonster. I went through depression with my first pregnancy. Its so hard not to get depressed being a full time butler to a demanding baby. I was 28 when I had Tara, and my mum was 18 when she had me. I just remember not being able to do something without it being a huge drama. Shopping was painful, relaxing didnt happen for long, and sleeping sucked too. One day I lost it. I went to heat up the kettle in a rush and knocked it over . Hot water spilt everywhere; inc on me, and the baby was crying the whole time in the background. It does get easier, you just learn tricks to make it easier on you.
Jen, whats the teething necklace? I hope bub's sleeps all night for you soon. How did you go at the market place in Bendigo? Did you get any bargins?
Esme, How are you and DS these days?
Prama, your routine is a carbin copy of Jakes.lol.
Oop's Jakes awake.
Catch you ladies later.
-
hi girls..
im sick again w a cold and sore throat, and poopy's been whingy since 3am..
karlie - how are you now? what did the dr. say?
we lost his day routine.. he doest want to sleep during the day.
have to gone, will write more later.. whingy baby
-
How are you Karlie? Have you been to the drs yet? Good news that the cat scan didn't show anything, but that doesn't get you any closer to knowing what causes it. I had similar (from how you describe it) cramps when severely stressed, hopefully that is all it is!!!
Prama, hope you feel better soon. Hope Poopy won't get the cold. Jasper had a couple of weeks of sleeping through the night and sleeping really well during the day, but the last couple of nights he has been waking/crying in his sleep again as well as fighting his day sleeps. Might try him next week on one day sleep, see how he copes with that.
Some good news anyway; Jasper all of a sudden LOVES his vegies.... I had to hold his hands so he couldn't bat the spoon away and get him to actually try some of it. Now he gets most excited about his dinner. He also loves eating fruit; his grandpa has a plum orchard and some peach trees, so no shortage of fruit at the moment.
I still have the lump in my breast and have to go for monthly ultrasounds and checkups. The dr thinks it is a inflammation, so we have to wait and see if it resolves itself. It doesn't hurt, but it is still nervewrecking to have it there, can't wait till it is gone.
Starting to think about birthday cake ideas, thinking of doing something with cupcakes, but will have to do more research...

hey everyone
am new to BB, just got onto it the last couple of days - what a god send:pray:
haven't read all the posts (bit of an overloadin 1 go) but i hope you and your littlies are well...
my little guy baxter wil be 1 on valentines day - has been walking for 3 weeks - keeping me on my toes ;) a lot of fun at the moment (well, thats a lie - last couple of days he has been a major grizzlepot, but generally he is a pretty happy camper :D ) i seem to have hit a little flat spot tho - dunno what it is, can't put my finger on it, just feeling a little blah....
anyway...
cookiemonster - girl you are brave!! i am glad you shared your experience with BB - lot of guts to share a personal story and very much wish that it gets better and better for you and your fam - hope the move went well and you have settled in...
they'll all be turning one soon - arrgghh!
-
welcome kato!!!
your son and mine share the same birthday!!
no teeth here, still furniture surfing!
glad you joined us!
-
Welcome Kato! Baxter walking already; i hope Jasper waits a little longer... I hear you on the flat spot; I am experiencing the same at the moment. I still enjoy being home with him, but it is starting to get monotonous and I find myself having a general lack of energy and getting quite negative atm, so I am frantically looking for a hobby/course, something that will recharge me once a week... Hope it will pass soon .
Prama - Love your new pic of poopy; he looks so cute! Will have to buy Jasper one of those walking thingies, probably for his birthday. We will be having Jasper's birthday party on the 14th. Just a bbq for family and close friends.
Hi to everyone else! It is so quiet in here; everyone still on hols?
-
will be thinking of you all having parties on the 14th!!
he likes his walker thing, we put a small bag of rice in it to give him some weight, cos he was going too fast and was getting unstable. lol
yes, it is very quite in here isnt it.. where's everyone. sue is usually quite regular...
-
Lol at the bag of rice! Will make him work a bit harder too; might tire (sp?) him out a bit too. How is the sleeping going? Still some improvement? The hot muggy weather we have been having here lately doesn't do us any favours. We have a evap airconditioning that doesn't work too well with the humidity... I have put Jasper in a tub with some water in the kitchen yesterday and he absolutely loved it. So might do that again today. Hope it will cool down soon...
-
hehe.. i can only hope it will tire him enough!
he's been waking up at 3ish again. dunno why, maybe the weather... this morning he woke up at 4ish and we thought we'd change his nappy. it was soaking wet, we changed it and he went back to sleep no problems for another 1.5hrs. i wonder if that's been bothering him??
-
They've got sooo much enery, haven't they? Hard to keep up with. Good for you that he went back to sleep after the nappy change. It is so hard trying to guess what's bothering them... Most of the time you won't find out anyway. Jasper had a couple of nights waking every hour in the early evening again, but now last night he slept through to wake at 6 instead of 7. Atm he is complaining in his cot, because he doesn't want to do his afternoon nap. Might try him on one nap soon, but I love my two breaks a day...
-
lol.. poopy's whinging in his cot now too. he's so tired but doesnt want to sleep... sigh... i really dont mind if he wants to stay up, i'll go sleep instead!
-
LOL, hop in the cot with him! He might go to sleep too (or just pull your hair or poke your eyes for that matter....).
-
lol.. would hop in if the cot would bear my weight. at least i dont have to worry abt him rolling off the bed!
he hasnt got to the poke the eye stage, right now pulling my hair and sticking his finger in ppl's mouth to poke their teeth amuses him!!
he's finally asleep. he was getting too cranky and had to bf him to sleep. i really didnt want to do that, have almost broken the habit, plus it's too late now for him to sleep. but he was just getting too upset. the almost 40 temp isnt helping. i thot both of us jumping into the shower earlier would help him sleep but it didnt.. well, i'll go start getting dinner ready.
