Hi ladies,
Just a quick one here seeing as I have a bit to catch up on. Thanks everyone on the wedding wishes. We had a great day and the weather was great too.
I'm loving all the new pics of the kids.
Prama- I am hoping you are on the mend now.
Oh dear I forget what else exactly everyone said.
Hi to mums and little ones.
I have a question about beds... When does everyone think of moving their little ones to a toddler bed? Amber I was sure she would be in the cot for a long time but now I am not so sure. Last night she ended up in our bed at about1130 and wouldnt go back into her own bed yet she loved being in bed with us. I am putting it down to teething but I dont know..... What is everyone else doing?
Now I am back and into the swing of things again I shall be back on here more frequently.
Hi all,
Been a while - not finding much time to be online with the 2 girls keeping me busy!
Jen - we only moved DD1 into a bed just after christmas and she was 30 months old. We had a week of fun and games with her hopping out and trying to push boundaries and now she loves cuddling in her bed.
I waited until she was old enough to climb back into bed and tuck herself in if she chose to hop out - she likes to get a book off the bookshelves for herself & take it back to bed.
i also wanted to wait for her to stop moving so much in bed. She was still ending up in weird positions (scrunched in a corner for example) until she was 28 months old. So we've never had a rolling out of bed incident.
hope all the other mums and bubs are good. I've just got AF back today! Amelie turned 14 months today....ha ha, perhaps my body is saying it's ready to go for bubba #3?!?!? I'm still bf about 6 or 7 times a day so i wasn't expecting it!
Hi ladies, Hope you are all well.
Jen, Tara was put into her big bed when she was 18 months. She couldnt handle being in her cot anymore. She just cried and cried soon as she was put in the cot. I think you will know when they are ready. I actually wanted Tara in the cot longer to get full use out of it, but she had different ideas. Strange thing is Tara was all over the place sleeping in the cot, but she never fell out of the bed much, maybe 2-3 time's. I think coz the bed is so much bigger than the cot, and she had the idea she could only roll over a little because the cot was so small. Its like she had the cot dementions figured out in her head.:p
RoyaUK, Are you wanting a baby no 3? My hubbys auntie was born 14 pounds. Yep thats right, 14. No way am I having anymore after a 11 p . So we know where the big baby's are from, not me I was a 6 p.
prama, lets hope that new pig flu stays away. I catch anything and everything in colds.
Esme, Jake is a Beaver. He chews my place mats on the table, chairs and even my handbag.
Im looking at buying a mini trampoline for inside and out. Perfect for winter. We also got Tara a big tent castle for $20 at cotton on kids, and bought petal cottage furniture for it, on clearance at Target. She has a kitchen, washer and dryer. Winter sucks to keep the kids entertained.
Bun, Hows that new house going. Tell me everything! so exciting.
Jakes walking, and is getting pritty good at it now. (a walking beaver.lol.)
I better go an clean up the house, and get dressed. Im due for a package from Pumpkin patch earily this morning.
bye
I think you girls need to have a look at my facebook page. He's a naughty boy Jake. I thought Zinc cream was ment to keep bums from turning red. I thing Jakes is going to get red from it. Ahhh.
Hi guys, I am finally back online!
Karlie - I just looked at the pics on FB - that is a crack-up! The things they get up to. Whenever DD is quiet these days I wonder what she is up to! The trampoline sounds like a great idea. I am not sure what I am going to do with DD once the bad weather hits, I already find she gets bored at home a lot of the time as it is.
jen - LOVE the pics of your wedding! Looks like you had a beautiful day. Congrats again! I am not sure about beds, I had thought DD would stay in her cot until maybe 2 to 2 1/2 but reading what the others have said I guess it can vary a lot depending on the child. There is no way DD could be in a bed yet, I don't think she will be ready for a long time. She can't even sleep with us because she goes mental in our bed - cavorts and somersaults about all over the bed and plays, she just doesn't see bed as a place for sleep - only her cot!
roya - good to hear from you and wow on AF coming back! I am STILL waiting and am down to only one feed a day now. I never thought that I would want AF back, but it has been so long and I am wondering when we are going to be able to TTC#2 with no AF!! Are you planning on a third?
prama - how are you feeling?
Hi esme, how is Jasper going?
Well, we are getting settled into the new place now. There are still boxes everywhere but I am slowly getting there. We love the house - it is just perfect for us and central heating is fantastic and you certainly need it here! And we had a breakthrough with DD at daycare the other day. She still screamed the place down when I left the room, but stopped after only a few minutes and seemed to enjoy herself! We are going again today for a visit and next Wed I will actually leave her there (finally), only for 2-3 hours to see how she goes. They seem to think she will be ok now though.
Hi everyone finally back online after being locked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance:
Have to go to pick up DS1 from Kinder will be back later
Hello, I am being a bit norty and posting whilst at work.
Bun -- great to hear you have settled in your new home, and also that your DD is starting to settle at Daycare. Hooray. Glad you like the movie prepare to be hooked by the books.
Karlie -- love those photo's of naughty Jake. Imagine what else he will get into when he gets bigger. Did you get your Pumpkin Patch package????
Hi Prama, Esme, Roya, and Jen.
Well DD has started walking in the the last few days and she cannot be stopped. Thinks she is so clever and loves being able to follow her brothers. She has been walking behind her walker for a few weeks but gave that away and branced out on her own. We had some family photo's taken yesterday, can't wait to see them.
Well definately no more children for us, DH went and had his procedure and has been really good and not painful at all :D A bit sad but yes I was scared to get pregnant again after having a 9lb 9oz bub!!
Have to go
Talk soon
Sue

here's a link to the pictures Sarah_H took for us last week: Prama
Hi everyone!
Sorry, have been mia for a little while... Got a book out of the library and actually read it! It had 820 pages, so took a while..
Jen - not thinking of moving Jasper into a toddler bed just yet. We are only just learning to stay under a blanket, no way he is going to stay in a normal bed, he is too much of a wriggler.
Karlie - Love the idea of a inside trampoline; that will get the energy out of them (i hope...)!
Bun - Good to hear Catherine is starting to like DC; keep up the good work! Also great to hear you like your new house and I am so jealous of the central heating; would love to have that!
Sue - Welcome back! Yay on Sophie walking; watch out big brothers!
Prama - Hope you feel better in time for your Canberra trip. Love your new pic of Lakshman; so cute.
Nothing much new here. Jasper has four teeth now, all top. Two bottom ones are about to cut. Besides that, he is walking confidently now and sometimes starting to speed up into some kind of run; I think I have to get fit to try to keep up with him. We are trying to get him to sleep under a blanket now, he seems to be getting the hang of it. So hopefully we will be able to avoid the big energy bills this year..
hi esme! 4teeth.. yaay jasper!!
lakshman's such a wriggler too.. he moves from one end of the cot to the other.. cant get him to sleep under the covers. so we are using a sleeping bag now..
hehe i wish we had central heating too..
Jasper has a sleeping bag too, but the night time temp has been down to 2 degrees already, so he needs an additional cover. It is still too warm to let him go to sleep under his blanket when he goes down, so I just drape the blanket over him when we go to bed. When he wakes in the morning he used to stand up or sit up and play, but now he just stays under his blankie, so I think he knows he is nice and warm under it.
ahh. thanks, will try that tonight and see if it helps. he grizzles in his sleep so much..
Jasper grizzles quite a bit too. Some nights every time he comes out of a sleep cycle. I still have the baby monitor on as his bedroom is at the other side of the house, so I wake up whenever he makes noise; very annoying because most of the time he self settles... But if I turn the monitor off I won't hear him if he needs me...
exactly the same here. i hear him grizzle on the monitor and then wait.. often he self-settles. except around 4.30, 5. he starts waking up. so we put him in our bed and he sort of sleeps till we get up at 6
Oh our boys are too similar! Jasper wakes up at 5 am too; the last few days he hasn't gone back to sleep and is a absolute horror for the morning. This morning he fell asleep at a 6.45 until 7.30 and was a lot happier before his nap; let's hope it continues. When I let him in our bed he will just crawl around and try to get off the bed, lol, or check our ears/teeth!
Hi ladies,
Teeth are so annoying arn't they? The poor little things.
Great work Jasper on staying under the blanket. Amber has a sleeping bag too and we also put her under a blanket but she is standing when we go to get her in the morning.
Oh dear sick again Prama? Your family has been through its fair share of sickness. Tell it to bugger off! Love the pics too. Sara did a great job.
Hooray on the getting there at DC Bun. Hopefully Catherine is getting better everytime she goes there. I too am jealous of the central heating. Glad the new house is good. Pics please
Sue- Awesome job on Nicholas's cake. You are a cake queen as I remember Sophie's was a great castle as well. Hooray on little miss walking.
Karlie- The day you put the pics up of Jake and the sudocreme, Amber decided she would go the same. She found her jar, took the lid off and started smearing it all over her face. Lovely!
Amber has been testing her boundries all day today. She will go and do something she knows is naughty but will look at me the entire time she is doing it with a hueg grin on her face. So cheeky! She gets into the whole house. She loves to climb up on the couch and run up and down it now. And now she is giving the animals a hard time too. I just put her to bed so it is nice and quiet for now!
Not much else to say I guess. So back later.
lol jasper!! he might grow up to be an ENT specialist! poopy likes to put his finger in our mouths and play w out teeth. maybe he'll be a dentist.. haha
jj - they think htey are so smart dont they.. i think they know if they smile, they will melt our hearts and they can get away with it. she sounds like a daredevil. poopy hasnt managed to climb our couch yet, but he's trying to climb things. he's also discovered that the bin is a good place to put things in. i saw him putting my special rose oil soap bar in the bathroom bin!!
