Yay - Max took the EBM last night with no problems, so I was able to enjoy my night out. We went out for dinner and to see a show at the Comedy Festival.
The past few days I've been having trouble getting Max to sleep for more than 45 mins or so during the day without waking up. Yesterday I ended up putting him in his rocker, where he slept peadcefully for another hour and a half or so! Anyway, today I went in and was trying to settle him and noticed that he kept startling himself awake. I've now wrapped him in the angel wrap again, which seemed to work. So I think it will be back to wrapping during the day for me, and sleeping bag just at night.

You probably all thought I had gone & left you all. Sorry, I have been lurking occasionally and reading the email updates.
Big Hugs for Jo and Caleb. Sorry to hear about your problems but it sounds like the saying 'mother knows best' was spot on here. Hoping things are going better for you both now. You just feel it when something isn't right don't you.
Bon - same for you and Nixon, big hugs. Hoping the losec does the trick, good luck with DH on night shift. My DH is too but I've come to stay with my parents for a few reasons I'll elaborate on further on....
Ren - extremely envious of the Cairns trip but good on you. Hope you all have a lovely time. I was thinking the other day & you will be off to London soon won't you?!?! So fantastic. Was looking at Ava's pics on fb, she's such a sweetie.
runner - Happy Easter to you too. I get Sam's poo stains out of his cloth nappies by leaving them in direct sunlight (after they've gone thu machine on rise cycle then wash cycle). The sunlight seems to bleech them.
I seemed to do something to my shoulder late last week and it's only just getting better now. So painful, I could barely move which made looking after Sam very difficult. And each morning I would wake up it would cramp up and take me 20 minutes to get out of bed. Lucky DH has been home but is now on night shift so am staying with my parents for a bit of extra help. Does help that we are also 2 weeks away from moving into our new home so we've been doing lots and lots of packing. Will be worth it tho. Sam's christening not far away now, I've made some lovely plans so it should be a really special day - we're really looking forward to it.
Sam's still sleeping well. Most nights average at least 7.5-10hr sleep (non-stop). We've got a bit of cradle cap at the moment too but the good old glycerine & sorbelene mixture is clearing that up nicely. Can't believe he'll be 4 months old next weekend.
We had to see a paed physio last week because Sam is favouring one side of his head. They aren't really that concerned about the 'flat head' cause that will sort itself out within the next few months but more that he won't be able to turn his neck the other way properly. We've got a few exercise to do but is hard to get a nearly 4 month old to do neck exercises without resisting a little. Anyway - one can only do their best.
gypsy - that is great you were able to have a night out & Max was happy. Sounds like a good night.
Seeing as am staying with Mum I've decided to start sewing. I'm making a bag which will be a toy/nappy bag. i already have one but we always take so much stuff with us I needed another. Spotlight had some gorgeous fabrics on sale so I bought some. Made a practice one tonight and am quite happy with myself.... so far.

Ok, long story alert but we got admitted into hospital last night as he continued not eating or sleeping and just screaming and i stayed with him, tonight ive come home to get some rest and DH is staying with him at the hospital. Here is what they think the issue is:
Reflux not controlled properly
Cows Milk Protein Intolerance
Food Aversion due to reflux, gagging and choking and upset tummy and also due to us being so anxious to get him to feed we were somewhat forcing him to take the bottle when he didnt want it.
All these things made for bad experiences for feeding for him so he would just scream whenever he saw the bottle. However we started being very gentle with him and not forcing him, if he didnt want to eat then we wouldnt push it, he had started losing a little bit of weight and they said if he continued not to eat they would have to feed him by the tube through his nose. They were very thorough and checked EVERYTHING to make sure it wasnt something they had missed, they even stuck a needle into his bladder to get a urine sample (oh my gosh i just cried and cried as he screamed in agony and those big blue eyes looked at me with intense fear!)
They want him to demand feed for a few days so he is asking for the bottle rather than having it shoved in his face, however we have had HUGE success today. Yesterday he took 100mls all day and today he has had feeds of 90mls, 120mls, 150mls. 120mls and 200mls!!!!! He seems much happier and had alot of good sleep today. They have prescribed him liquid Losec for his reflux and should everything continue to improve then he comes home tomorrow..
Im also booked in to see a pediatrician on Tuesday
Im exhausted.... and all alone in my house without my boy for the first time ever... strange feeling...

Jo- oh, I really really hope things improve very fast for you - I agree with you re the health system - if you find a good doctor, stick with her or him!
Good advice from mir - a calming bath (with you in it as well) may work wonders....Amara and I have a bath together everynight.
Hey Ren - did you see the new BBH minkee nappies on their website? They are one size fits all and AIO as well - some gorgeous colours too for girls! I would love to buy one. I love Amara wearing cloth nappies now, and it is only a little bit more work. Problem is, my hubby does not share this thought, and just puts on a disposable when he changes her. (we still use them at night).
No chocolate for me this Easter - too much caffiene makes Amara not happy (i have never drank tea or coffee either). I can have a little bit now and again.
Hey girls - I still have 3 kilos to lose until I am back down to pre pregnancy weight - I seem to be stuck at just under 63kilos. A bit frustrating for me as a runner, as I know I was slender to start with (in fact I was 58-59kilos but would be happy with 60 at this stage). I am 174cms tall. I know that I will keep an extra kilo AT LEAST until I have fininshed breastfeeding - makes sense but want to lose 1-2kilos in the meantime...
Ahh - I am eating too much at night probably - after both kids are in bed, as this the time to relax isn't it?? Help with strategies please to avoid eating at this time!!!
I know, I have to be patient, afterall she is only 9 weeks old........but by nature, I am TOO determined.

Jo - Poor Caleb! I'm so glad you have finally found some help and doctors who seem to have some proper answers. Fingers crossed that things will continue to improve.
Runner - I'm with you on the weight thing. I seem to be hovering around 58-59 kg, which is a bout 3-4 kg over what I was pre-pregancy (I'm only 158 cm). Then again, I have been pigging out big time, especially with my birthday and now Easter. I'm not quite as motivated as you though and figure I'll worry about it when I stop breastfeeding!
Hope everyone is having a nice Easter and that's why things are so quiet in here.

oh girls i wish i was 58-59 kilos...ive lost a bit more due to stress but im not exactly eating healthy due to poor time management cos nixons reflux...
the night times havent been a problem,sleeps fine,its the days that are hell...he wakes after 45 mins,i just push him to go back to sleep..
we are on losec and it would have worked if i had given him the right dose,im so dumb sometimes it makes me angry...instead of giving him 2.5ml i hav been giving him 0.25 ml,barely enough to get in syringe or dropper,how dumb am i??????? my poor son has had to pay for my stupidness...so as of yesterday he on 2.5ml now,we also have him on AR formula,do you find it constipates them...i will keep an eye on it,the paed said if it does put him on the nan ha gold and on another part of BB here some of the mums said they just went on karicare gold and found was thick enough...
aanyway i better go he awake again!!!!!!!! things are on on the improve though

You poor girls dealing with reflux, it sounds horrible. J has bad wind that gives him terrible pain at times, but it only happens a couple of times a week so it's not that hard to deal with.
Runner, I agree with the other girls, hanging the nappies in the sun gets rid of even the worst bf poo stains!
We've had a busy weekend with family Easter things and other commitments on nearly every day. Today was our first day at home and we all needed it. Poor Ben has a terrible cold - only his second cold ever (and his first only lasted a day!) so he's finding it a bit hard. We're hoping he gets better in plenty of time for his 2nd birthday party this weekend. Unfortunately, he's also passed it on to me though so I'm just hoping that J doesn't get it.
J has been doing great! I weighed him on the Wii Fit this morning (which I am addicted to BTW!) and it said he was 7.8kgs! I'm not putting too much stock in it though, he was 'only' 7.3kgs last Tuesday at the clinic... surely he hasn't gained another 0.5kg in a week! I was starting to get a bit of a complex about his weight, but over the past few days people have been commenting on his length and saying that he's just a big boy all over so it's put my mind at ease.
I have a feeling tonight might not go too well. DH is working (but on hols after tonight - yay!) and J has been asleep for over four hours this afternoon. He has been sleeping a lot these past few days though so hopefully he's just tired. He's three months' old this weekend so it might be that development stage/growth spurt which is making him sleep so much.
Hope you all had a lovely Easter. I got a total of one egg, but Ben got a truckload so I'll probably delve into his stash :)
Edited to add: Forgot to mention, we moved J out of his capsule into a rear-facing convertable seat and it's worked wonders. He must have been so uncomfy in the capsule since he had almost reached the weight limit! It's so much better to go out with him now as he's not screaming for the entire drive. I think Ren was having trouble in the car? What kind of seat do you have Ava in?

Disgirl - i completely forgot about changing hte car seat, do you just turn it around to face the front or what?

Jo, if you have a convertable carseat you turn it around to face the front, but not until bubs is at least six months old and able to sit up. Some experts recommend waiting until 12 months, but by law (at least in NSW) it's six months. Make sure you follow the instructions that came with the seat :)
We changed from the capsule to the convertable car seat, but it's still facing backwards. Poor Jared was just so uncomfortable squished into that hard capsule with all his 7.5kgs pushing down on the flimsy little foam cover!

Hey girls!!
I'm back from Cairns. We got back this morning! We had a nice time, stayed with a relative and went out for meals heaps and looked around Cairns alot and north of cairns. Had alot of fun!! It was a nice mini-break away. Glad to be home again and in our own bed tho! Nothing like home..... :D
Ava did well on the 2hr20 flight she was really good and fed or slept most of the way each way. On the way to Cairns the flight was so scary. As we were about to take off and doing about 300kms an hour on runway an error light had come up in the ****pit to abort the takeoff so they had to reject the takeoff and slow down the plane REALLY QUICKLY before we ran out of runway!!!! It was so scary :o the woman in front of us had a panic attack and was a wreck!!! LOL literally a panic attack... she was bad!
We were delayed 2.5hrs while they fixed the problem with the plane :o
Wasn't a good start to our holiday LOL but we got there alive thats all that matters.
It was something to do with the oil filter and fuel!
Ava has put on just over 200g in a week so i'm happy with that :clap: I've noticed lately when I feed Ava or when we're playing on her mat in front of the tv, if it's on, she only looks at that!!! so i have to turn it off... anyone else's bub loves TV???? :rofl:
Hope everyone had a great Easter and enjoyed your choccies! I bought myself two freddo frogs LOL that was my easter gift to myself as we don't do easter as we are trying to lose weight!!!!

Ren - A big YES to the TV question - Max loves it. I'm the same as you though, I don't like him to look at it too much so often turn it off during the day. My nephew was the same and we all used to tease my sister about it, but he's not as bad these days (he's 1 now). I think it's just a stage, cos of the light and movement, etc.

yes to the TV i have to make sure it is off when i feed R as well otherwise he will just stare at the screen on a brighter note though if i put him down for tummy time in front of it he puts his head up to watch it

I can pick her up and hold her looking at me and she'll crack up as she wants to be put back down to where she can see the TV!!! So I feel quite rejected LOL I had it turned off this afternoon.... I don't want her to get used to it either. Not a good habit.
She needs to learn to pick up her toys! So much to learn!
When do our babies pick up toys? Ava hasn't really picked one up yet. She can look at them and shows much interest in them and if i place one in her hand (a light one) she can grasp it tightly for a bit then drops it... is that all that is required of a 10week old baby at this stage? Should she be picking toys up?? I don't think so but just thought I'd check.... anyone ?

Ren - Glad you enjoyed your mini-break and arrived safely! re your question about development, from what i've been reading, Ava sounds like she is spot on for her age (ie the grasping for a short time and letting go of the toy) - theres a website that sends you month-by-month developmental stages, PM me if you want the addy :D
Question ladies - who in here has a hug-a-bub? if yes, do you have the one with the pocket or without the pocket and what is the difference??

thanks re the hug-a-bub - i was looking at their website and was confused cause they had the two styles one saying Pocketless hug-a-bub and the other with a pocket - i'm guessing there must be a difference as the price for pocketless was a bit cheaper than the pocket one - with yours, does Ava actually sit in the pocket? - my girlfriend has one but hers is just a massive piece of material and she has to create the pocket herself so to speak.....i dunno all a bit confusing for me!

Gill - it's hard to explain but basically the material crosses over and bubs legs fit either side of the 'cross' of material so that sits between their legs so they can't drop out and then once in correctly the pocket pulls over them and is an extra support for them and makes it look neat and tidy iywkim??? They are very comfy when on correctly.
Go to You Tube and type in "Hug a bub" or hug a bub demo or something like that and there are acouple of videos that show you how to put it on..... that will make it easier for you to see what i mean!

Gill - I have a pocketless HAB, basically the pocket is supposed to be for a) small items like a nappy b) you shove the rest of the HAB in there and you can carry it around neatly. The pocketless on you have to fold up but the bit that pulls up to give extra support is the same. you can google mobywraps which are pretty much exactly the same and they have instructions on website that explain how bubs sits with pics

Hi girls,
I wrote a post and it disappeared? How annoying it was a few days ago and I am not sure why. I did out the name/link of another website..do you think that would have done it or am I just losing my mind?
Anyway I am going really well with Emily..while she was away with us at Moree she began to sleep through for the week (she must have liked the country) and then when we came home she woke up at 2.30am, then 4.30am and we were thinking it was all messed up but the last two nights she has slept from 9 or 10pm through to 6am then 7am. I had tried to feed her at 11pm on the first night but she was fast asleep but she was obviously able to cope with the long time between feeds (10 hours).
Based on the great reports from you all we went out and spend KRudds money on a hug-a-bug, a feeding chair (for later feeding solids) and a big box of nappies.We were wanting to get a mobile but they are only for up to 5 month so feels like a waste to buy it. It was fun though shopping for her.
Oh Emily just did a massive spew DH is handling it..it sounded like a watery poo bubbling out but it was spew. DH was about to pickher up and would have copped it! She has been very spewy in last 24 hours. Hope she is ok.
Ren: Emily is a tv addict too but like you trying to not let her. She loves lights/colours. We took her to the Easter show and she was facinated by the show at night..did not wait for fireworks as too loud. I use a baby update thing which is great and suggests games each week to play with bubs. Will PM it to you...anyone else want it?
everyone was talking about losing weight... I also have 3kg to lose and have been using a website where you can track weight loss by monitoring food intake (has food diary that calculates kj) and tells you how much you should eat also includes intake for breastfeeding, you can also put in what exercise you do and then it gives a food indication on the energy balance. It also gives you a daily fitness program with walking/running and exercises. It is really motivational. Let me know if you are interested in this website.

Ren - Max doesn't really hold on to toys I put in his hand, but he has started grabbing at the toys that hang down on his playmat. In a couple of weeks he's gone from just being coordinated enough to hit at them, to being able to grab onto them sometimes. I hope that's all he's supposed to be doing at this age!

Hello all! Just back from holidays! Will have to catch up on all the posts and come back for personals.
Dash went really well although his reflux flared up BIG time - he didn't keep anything down but we persisted with the 'reflux steps' and got through it.....he was happy chappy most of the time....I just washed all day he he. He still only takes 100-120mL at one time and that takes about an hour for him to take, but we go with it and don't push him. As he is getting bigger we are feeding more often as you can imagine.....soon all we will do with him is feed him when he is awake he he. Some days he drinks recommended amount but others he only drinks about 400mL for the whole day but we figure he is happy as he isn't asking for food and sleeps all night regardless of how he has fed for the day. Zantac and Gaviscon have now been increased with his weight.
Since the reflux is quite severe, we are starting (or trying) solids at 4 months as recommended by paed as there is a chance this well help the reflux - also a chance that it can make it worse and could even delay solids until about 8 months + old....we will soon find out when we start with rice cereal in a couple of weeks. We hope we are the 50% that see an improvement as this eventually feeding all day thing is not practical and we are missing out on 'Dash' time!!

Bleh, I have a cold :( Ben has one too and this morning Jared woke up with a cough :( I'm hoping that's it for him though. It's only Ben's second cold and he's not dealing too well with it - neither are we! :lol:
No personals today, I feel too rotten :( BTW, I'm sure we got our cold from the Community Nurses' waiting room last week. There was a mother there with her 8ish year old (with a friend with a bub) and the girl was coughing all over us. THREE times the mother said "If you don't cover your mouth when you cough, we'll have to wait outside because there are babies in here" THREE times she didn't do anything :( I wonder how many other poor bubbas got sick because it was a busy day down there :(

Just wanted to share something which some of you may know anyway & it may even only apply to NSW but worth looking into anyway. For a limited time parents & grandparents or anyone looking after a child under 12mths is entitled to a free whooping cough vaccine (also includes tetanus & diptheria). You just go to your GP. I got a letter through medicare so went & had my jab this morn. Apparently 42% of babies catch it from their mothers - scary!!!
Dis - I would have gone off my head if it were me in that waiting room (at the mother of course)!!!!

AJC - thanks for reminding me! I'm getting my GP to give me a script tomorrow and I wanted to ask about the Whooping Cough injection. Had a discussion on Immunisations at the health clinic yesterday.... I hope it's free in QLD too!!! That's where my GP is. Otherwise I live right near NSW border so can get it there too ;)
Be awful if we gave it to our babies.

Orange - poor Dash! Sounds like the right thing for him tho starting solids earlier. I've heard of others doing that for reflux babies.
Ava is now 5.2kgs!!! She is finally above 5kg :dance: she's doing really well! Still a petite thing though.... just long and slim!! She's a size 000 and will be for few more weeks yet.... I bought her some really cute winter clothes in size 00 from Myer (Sprout brand) sooooo cute......
I need to lose 20kg.... will check out that website Me-lisa - thanks.
I watch Biggest Loser it motivates me but then i eat something bad...... :lol:

ORANGEFEATHER- interesting u say about increasing the zantac and gaviscon with the reflux problem,we have Nixon on AR formula,ive had to decrease the amount a little as its making him constipated...what to do????????????? banging my freaking head,might have to ring the paed to see what i can give that wont constipate him and hes also on Losec..
We are still having major catnapping issues bad during the day,tonights a shocker,hes hardly slept sice 4pm,he had half hour nap then was up til 730pm,had bath n bottle n went to bed but hes catnapping and woken up again so we are just forcing him to go back to sleep,since the whole reflux thing hes really relying on his dummy to sooth himself and gets very emotional and crying quickly..tired emo and irritable..
At night he normally goes to bed around 7pm and sleeps well without waking,tonight been a bad one,im so exhausted,still havent made bottles up fpr tonight....need mum time out lol...
i hope the reflux sorts itself out soon now we on Losec and gaviscon as the car trips are unbearable whereas before he loved the car,it is improving..

I have to turn the tv off when feeding and what not,he loves the damn thing,doesnt help that i have a 50inch giant bloody plasma,hey if it keeps him quiet for 15 mins whilst i get some housework done i aint complaining,we watch Dora the Explorer,,,hehe

Just a quick one....still haven't read posts from when I was away...getting there lol....so will respond to last couple of posts!!
Ren: We will give solids a go any way and see how it goes. DD wasn't on solids until 6 months. We just bought an activity centre for Dash so he can stay upright after his food without us having to hold him. He is moving around more now so we can't just prop him up on a pillow anymore and he is getting too big for his bouncer (that doesn't bounce lol). Yeah on Ava reaching 5kg!!!
AJC: Thanks for the info...will look into that. How is little Sam going??
Dis: Grrrrr about being sick. It makes you mad!!
Bon: Dash has the opposite problem with his bowels. His are quite sloppy. Have you tried a different formula? Dash is on Karicare (not HA-AR as it is worse lol) and I find it is a little thicker than the Novalac. Dash got constipated on Novalac Sweet Dreams which is thickened too. Look at the back of the tin and see what it is thickened with as different brands are thickened with different things. Karicare is thickened with carob bean gum if that helps. You just might have to experiment until you find one that suits Nixon's bowels.....there are many to choose from as you know and people will give you differing opinions on what is best. If Nixon is constipated then he would be feeling mighty uncomfortable. I had this problem with my DD (and still do) and she would be/still is really unsettled and irritable when she is backed up and doesn't eat/sleep properly. You can try some brown sugar in warm water if he is blocked up....seems to help. There are plenty of other home remedies as well like a bit of prune juice in water. Sometimes just plain water is enough as the thickened formula is absorbing more fluid than normal when it swells in their little belly. Maybe try something like this if you want to keep him on the Novalac....but once again people have different opinions about whether this is a good idea or not. Hope that helps.

ORANGE- We had Nixon try karicare AR formula as well,.it was so thick he only drink half a bottle n spit it out,that was the start of the constipation,then i went back to the novalac AR formula and he still constipated,,,some mums told me the normal karicare gold is quite good and thick for a non AR formula as well as my paed said to try nan ha gold pro ,he had that at birth in hospital n made him constipated then but dunno bout now,he normally has heinz nurture 1 gold starter,i might give him some of that with a bit of feed thickener in it,i gave him some cooled boiled water and the last 2 novalac bottles instead of putting 5 scoops per 150ml as directed i put 4 but cant see a change yet,,,poor little kid!!!

hey Bon i know that our pead got us to use mylanta instead of gaviscon because gaviscon can constipate. I'm not sure what the difference is but only prob is that you can't use mylanta long term.

Bon - I've given Ava Karicare AR formula before and yeah it's so thick!!!! took her ages to finish a bottle of it. We just use Karicare HA now. (top ups)
Well I'm getting another LC to come and see us hopefully this week as Ava feeds from my breast and sucks loudly like she does when shes taking a bottle. I think she's formed some habit and now it's happening when she feeds off me!! She's a loud drinker :lol:
Anyone else find their baby takes from bottle and breast also but has changed the way they suck at the breast??? I think thats what it is.
Had a very unsettled Ava last night.... up every 1-2hrs.... 1am, 2:30am, 3am, 430am, 5am :( :(

Ren - I've given Ella EBM twice and she is a loud drinker regardless if its on the breast or the bottle! - She likes to try and have 'conversations' while feeding at the same time so i think that makes it even louder!

sounds like a lot of us have babies with Reflux.....it is NOT nice at all, is it? I hate it when Amara starts to choke - it frightens me so much. She is still taking Zantac 3 times a day but it is only a low dose of 0.5 mls. I occassionally give her Gaviston also - maybe once every few days, when I think she needs it.

well, I think I have lost almost half a kilo in the last week...due to NOT eating after the kids go to bed, but I also think it is due to my speedwork in training for the Half marathon - I have put in a little extra effort. I only posted about weight loss because I am motivated and know I will feel better once I am my old self - and i find it motivating even more when I hear about other mummies losing weight - it is hard sometimes.
what was that weight loss website one of you posted about? would like to know.
I had a shocker, terrible EAster. Hubby sick in bed ALL the time, and my 6 year old BORED and Amara and I just getting through the day. not fun at all. Today, both boys are either at Holiday program or work, and it is nice to be home just with Amara.
Ren, I am sorry to hear about Ava's long, hard night - any ideas what it was? you must be very tired. thinking of you.

Ren: Yes I remember TTC!! I was so happy when I heard u were pregnant and so happy for u and your DH on Avas birth!
Harley is fully formula fed and isn't much of a loud sucker, but can be a little piggy!! I have a happy chucker and constantly cleaning up baby spew lol!
He has been getting into a regular sleeping pattern for the past few weeks, goes sort of like this
Feeds between 5 and 5.30pm and down by 6pm at night. Then has a dreamfeed around 11pm and sleeps thru till between 5.30 and 6am...the past few days its been 5.40am he is up! Then awake for a couple of hours and down for about an hour around 8am. Pretty happy with how things are going! Can't believe he is 3months already!! Time has just flown by!
runnermum: Thanks for the welcome :) I thought that Harley might of had reflux at first but I think he is just a happy chucker, always smiles after he spews, reflux is when they get the pains with it isn't it? Wow can't believe u do marathons and be a mum, u are doing so well!! Thats no good ur easter wasn't as good.

Runnerr: Congrats on the weightloss! My weightloss journey begins this week....have 20kg to loose. I only just got clearance but my iron is still very low so only light treadmill work allowed.
MummyDeb: Hi! I was following the other January thread for a while (well, stalking) and noticed that you had your bubs at Caboolture Hospital. Dash was born there on the 11th January and I left on the 13th....so as I was leaving you were checking in!! I was a holding hands team girl and also had DD there in June 2007. Welcome, and hope you enjoy our thread. We are all great mums with lots of advice and support.
Gill: How cute about Ella talking when she feeds. They are the moments you never forget.
AFM: As I mentioned to Ren earlier, I 'won' an activity centre for Dash on ebay last night so can't wait to pick that up for him. I never had one for DD and to be honest, wasn't going to buy one for Dash either but I need some way of sitting him up after feeding when we start solids. Anyone else got one? A friend of mine thinks it is a great idea as she said that DD will be able to interact with DS and 'play'....I think she is right. They had their first sibling moment the other day when DD was tickling Dash and he started giggling. DD started giggling and then she gave him a cuddle and said 'luv wu'. What a melting moment (sob sob). Love my kidlets!!
Also, think I will get out the Bumbo today. Dash has started grabbing onto toys (we give them to him and he holds them) so I think it is time for some sitting up and a tray full of toys.....now to keep DD from taking them he he. In a couple of weeks I will get out the teething mesh bag and put some cold things inside for Dash to chew on as he is starting to have a little chew on his teething rings. Too cute!!
Talk soon, have DD saying 'pweeeeeeeze muuuuuuuuuum wink wink' for a drink. Got to love it!!

Orange, isn't it gorgeous when our 'big kids' interact with their little brothers? Ben has just started to really want to play with Jared. Just when we don't want him near him with all his germs! :lol: We're letting him go though as we want him to play with him. Would just prefer it when he's better!

Runner, bugger about your Easter. I've got it the other way around with me and Ben sick and Jared getting it too. Thankfully, DH has taken some time off work to help look after us all. Actually, he took time off work to pull out our pool, but he's ended up taking care of us :)
Gill, J doesn't talk while he's feeding, but he kinda sighs like it's just the best thing in the world :lol: It's so funny, like he was starving hungry and hadn't eaten in weeks - even though it's usually only two hours!
Ren, I know J doesn't feed right sometimes, I have to turn his top lip out. He's gotten lazy. I don't think it's from having the bottle though, I have a lot of milk and a strong let down reflex so he doesn't HAVE to try hard to get it out. No point trying to change it though as he won't be getting his milk elsewhere :lol:
Hi, to everybody else. I've gotta quickly pick up a few things around the house, my FIL is dropping over and it looks like a cross between a daycare centre and a hospital with all our cold and flu stuff around!

di's girl - couldn't agree more - yes I love it when Logan plays with Amara - it is so gorgeous -ATM he is trying to teach her to spell !! He copies what I say to her as well, like 'hello gorgeous' etc...
I forgot to say that Amara rolled over 3 times yesterday in front of us all and we also got it on video! She rolled over at 8 weeks when my mum was here, but to see her do it again and again now at 10 weeks is wonderful. She really seems to want to get around...oh no!! not yet!
Orangefeather - you have my support re your weight loss - I read something the other day and it is just good, plain and simple - move more, eat less, drink more (water that is !!) and sleep. Well, the last one is more of a challenge than the other 3, but sleep is now known to be crucial to weight loss..something about hormones that we produce when we are asleep.
Ren - we are off to Mt Tamborine tomorrow - mention this because you would know how gorgeous it is out there. going with some friends from Melbs who are staying with us.
Hey, has anyone been to Japan? Thinking of going there for my Significant birthday this year!! I have travelled HEAPS and lived overseas for a while also, but have not been to Japan with children...
