Hey all.
I know its old news now but if anyones interested I finally finfished my birth storyI have posted it in the "birth stories" section..(makes sense doesnt it haha) Its called Caiden James etc...
Be back soon!
Ren, Baby sign language is really cool! I used Baby Hands by Jackie Durnin, which gives some basic signs, perfect for little ones. I didn't start using it with Ben until he was 11 months old, but before he was one he could sign 'finished', 'more', 'eat', and 'drink'. REALLY useful since their vocal ability takes a lot longer to mature than their comprehension. We started using it when we were all getting frustrated with Ben trying to tell us stuff and us not understanding him. It made for a much more relaxed family. I think Jackie has a website, maybe just do a search for Baby Hands, I'm sure you'll find it
Apparently it leads to better vocab skills as the kids get older too. I've been told by a lot of people that Ben speaks very well for a boy of his age, so maybe they're right
Us, we had a wonderful night last night. Jared slept from 10pm until 5am without a peep. Then slept until 9:30. I'm feeling really good today! We have a nephew's birthday party this evening and soccer tomorrow, and that's it for the weekendI like quiet weekends

Hey all.

Be back soon!
Hello everyone....hope you are all well.
Dee: Thanks for popping in and keeping us updated. All the best. Fingers are crossed.
Soph: Good to hear that little man is getting better.....must be a relief.
Ren: Glad to hear that you had a great birthday. Birthdays seem more fun when you have little ones. Nice to hear that you and Runner caught up.
Dis: Yeah on the big stretch of sleep!! I know what you mean about the interaction between siblings. I enjoy watching it too and look forward to the moment that play in each others rooms etc. (I woud say can't wait....but I can because with that comes with the arguing and fights he he).
AFM: We went to the zoo today and DD had a great time. We are toilet training and she went really well!! When we were there Dash let out his first loud dad, dad, dads and bub, bub, bubs!! He hasn't stopped now that he thinks he is sooooo clever. He is also pulling his legs up when on his tummy and elbows and can push his body off the ground with his feet.....it's all starting he he!! He is loving his custard and farex...starting vegetables this week!! It is doing his reflux the world of good!!
TTFN, going to read Caiden's Birth Story.
Ella_Bear: That is a beautiful photo of DD!!
Aww thanks Orange- she loves her boobie time and it was such a fluke shot too!
hi there ladies!!
it has been ages since I last posted too!! WE are just loving our life with our little girl and Logan just cannot get enough of his little sister!!
Yes, Ren and I caught up - it was great - lovely weather, great company and yummy food, hey, but you stole my peg!!! He, he!!! Happy Birthday to YOU Ren!!! Ahh...you are so young...
Well, training is going well now, since the calf has decided to heal. WEnt for a 18km run on Saturday and then hubby and I went out for a 35km ride ride on sunday....babysitter comes now every second Sunday morning. This weekend I am going to do a 25km 'fun run' (not fun for some, but for me? yes!). With all this activity I have lost a little bit more weight and now only 1.5kgs off my post baby weight....But that last bit will stay on until I finish breastfeeding....in the meantime I have eaten anything I want (yes, hate me BUT really it is the running 7 days a week!).
Amara is almost 4 months and a real little cubby girl... I am so in love with her..
YAY!!!!Ava is 4 months old today!!!!! I've been breastfeeding for 4 months!! It's a huge achievement for me considering at 4 weeks I never thought I'd still be doing it now... with all the problems we encountered in the first 8 weeks.... low weight gains, low milk supply, bad attachment, damaged nipples, expressing, top up feeds etc.... we have done so very well to be still going!!!
I am giving myself a clap!!! AND.... we don't top her up anymore either!!!
How is everyone going? We've been quite....
Runner -haha I saw the peg as i got in the car !!! haha.... you know what? I now have a few pegs attached to my pram for when i use her muslin wraps over the stroller hehe and we went and bought a pram shade thingy like you had.... i don't know why i didnt buy one earlier!
Dis - thank you! I'll look up that website! Sounds great.
Ella - yay for Ella rolling!!! thats awesome!! Ava has rolled once but not since! hehe she is too busy chatting away and making all her noises from her mouth! she is working on her baby chatter hehe. won't be long though she is very strong. she thinks shes very clever now that she can squeal to get my attention LOL
Ava slept from 7pm til 2am last night!!! then fed at 2am and went back down until 7am!!! I was so happy with that.... definiteily getting more sleep these days which is great and her day sleeps have improved a bit too!!

Hi, remember me? ha ha ha. Has been a long time since I posted but just thought I would pop and and say "Hi" and see how everyone (incl bubs) are doing.
Ren - I'll give you atoo! Well done.
runnermum - sounds like you are doing really well. Excellent weight loss and fantastic effort with the running. That is really sweet that Logan can't get enough of his little sister, I hope we can give Sam a sibling one day.
orange - day at the zoo sounds great. Glad the solids are helping Dash's reflux.
Dis - it must be lovely watching your little people interact.
dee - all the best for your break (hoping you get a BFP before that though). Good luck.
Bon - our little men sound so alike sometimes. Sam is a chatterbox too and he mimics us with sounds. Soooo close to rolling but his arm just gets in the road every time! We start solids in a few weeks, will be fun. Good luck with the move.
Soph - glad you have your sweet smelling bf poos back with Henry. New car sounds great, enjoy!
caidensmummy - thanks for letting us know about the birth story. Will find it and have a read shortly.
Well, little man stirring. Very unsettled the last few days. Think we are going through a growth spurt again. And well the teeth, so close but so far away. I thought they would have been through by now for sure (bottom front 2).
I am doing ok, paranoid about falling pg again. DH and I have been rather 'relaxed' with contraception and am finally on mini pill now. Hate being on the pill again but really don't want another one too soon.
Anyway, will try not to leave it so long between catch up's again.
Big Hugs to all.
AJC, great to hear from you againJared hasn't rolled either, and I don't think he will. Ben never rolled from back to front, and Jared has a lot more weight to try and shift

Ren, you deserve a big round of applause for sticking with bfing. You've done really well to make it this far
Runner, well done on the weight lossWith all the running you do, I'm not surprised you're doing so well.
Orange, your day at the zoo sounds like fun. We should get back there sometime soon, Ben would have a great time now.
Us, we are getting back into the swing of things. Last week we had a bad run of a few nights of two or three feeds and SO many people were saying to start Jared on solids. I'm glad I didn't though as he seems to have settled back into his normal routine just fineWe'll try him on solids in about six weeks and see how he goes.
His daytime sleeps have also improved dramatically. He is so much fun now when he's awake, squealing, laughing, talking, blowing raspberries - which he thinks are hilarious - and watching his brother with absolute awe in his eyes. He gives his playgym a big workout too and loves anything he can grab and shove in his mouth. I love watching his personality develop![]()
It's been quiet in here lately! I guess everybody has been off enjoying their little ones
We are doing really well here. Jared is as happy and chatty as ever. Absolutely fascinated by his feet and toes and grabs them at any opportunity. I love the look of concentration he gets on his face when he's trying to grab them or another toy - so cute! Everything is going into his mouth and I think his gums are bothering him a bit as he seems to get a bit of relief when he's biting on something. He gets a bit frustrated when he's holding something and goes to put it in his mouth but misses. Loves to stand up and sometimes that's all he'll do. We got Ben's walker back off my bro and SIL yesterday and he loves it. We've got it so his feet can't touch the ground, he just wants to be upright with something to play with so it's perfect. Now I don't have to lug around a 9kg baby all the time
Ben has hit the terrible part of the terrible twosIt only seems to be first thing in the morning and last thing at night, but he's a bit of a brat around those times. He's started talking back, saying "no" and basically being disobedient. He's started imitating Jared's little noises, only he makes them all so much louder! I'm hoping it's just a stage!!!
Hope you're all well and enjoying the long weekend![]()
Well, we are a very quiet bunch lately! I guess we're all just getting on with things now, hey?
Max and I are doing well. After 2.5 months of sometimes sleeping through the night and sometimes not, he seems to have finally settled into a routine (either that or I've just finally worked out what his routine is!). For months our night/bedtime routine has been for me to feed him when he wakes (ideally around 7, but can be later), he plays for an hour, hour and a half, and then I give him a long feed which usually sends him to sleep. So he's usally in bed sometime betwene 9.30 and 10.30. After that - who knows? Sometimes he's gone 8 hours, sometimes 5 or 6. Well, the past week and a half or so I have noticed that he tends to sleep for around 11 hours or so, with one feed in between. So he's usually up sometime between 2 and 5 for a quick feed, then asleep again till about 9. This actually suits me quite well, cos it means I get a bit of a sleep in, and if I get up around 8 I generally have time for a shower and breakfast before he wakes up.
What else?... We moved Max into his cot over the weekend. We had really strung out the cradle as long as we could, especially as he is quite a big baby! He's taklen to the cot really well. He has a couple of toys in there and has liked playing with them when he wakes. At the moment he is in bed talking away - I'll have to go in soon
Max was christened a couple of weeks ago, which all went very well. He was very spoilt with presents too, the lucky thing. We had it at my parents' cos they live closer to the church we had chosen, so it was a big weekend - we stayed up there to help them out with getting ready and stuff.
Anyway, the talking is turning into a cry, so I'd better go. Sorry for no personals - hope everyone is doing well!
Hi gang
Sorry havent been on a while, been busy moving,we are out indefinately this saturday,,,im really dragging my feet as emotionally i know it will be hard to say goodbye to this house(im crying just writing this)as Nixon was concieved here, its his 1st home and and we have lots of fond memories, but as one door closes another opens and we start building our dream home end of July...
Not much news from us,Nixon is getting really long..and thin!!!!!!!!! hes having around 140ml per day feed and 200ml per night feeds and absolutely loves loves loves solids, esp organic rice cereal, hes had a bit of organic veges with carrot, sweet potato etc, wasnt sure at first but woofed it down...all his clothes either fit or they dont,000 too small and 00 or 0 fit in legs but not the waist..
He been sleeping really well except last 2 days restless because the reflux is playing up again so trying to nut that out, zantac, increase losec and more solids after his milk.
Hes such a character,mr,chit-chat and has found a new found fascination with mirrors!!
No rolling yet, dont think it too far off though,we cant put him on his tummy as he coughs from the reflux...
We are having Nixon baptised on August 23rd so been organising that..(trust me more logisitics than a international freight company)cant wait though as some of hubby's family are coming from Italy so am stoked they gonna be here for it..
Well must be off,im freezing and ive got the heater on,thats one thing i wont miss about this house, its too damn cold!!!
cheers to all
Bon
Well after all my talk about getting back online i am please to say I finally am!!
Just quickly popping in and reading up abit on whats going on with you and your darlings.
I'll be posting tomrrow
xx
Welcome back online Caidens Mummy....hope your little man is well!!
It has been a while since I posted and I see that you have all been busy with your bubs and families....hopefully because you are all well and are spending every precious moment watching your little people thrive and grow.
My little guy is now 5 months old and we have been busy planning for DD's 2nd bday party in a couple of weeks. Solids are going well. We are on three meals a day and it is doing the reflux a world of good. We are even talking about cutting back on meds soon. The dad, dads and bub, bubs are getting louder and more frequent...too cute!! Dash is already up on his knees rocking but mostly with his upper body on the ground. He can lift his upper body off the floor to his waist but not at the same time as his legs. For a couple of weeks he has been pushing himself along the floor with his feet (knees off the ground) for a couple of metres. Only problem is that when he does this he can't co-ordinate his arms so his upper body is dragging on the ground as well as his head so he has a red mark on his forehead from the carpet.
Not long.....I say within the month. He is happy to roll across the room to get what he wants for now. DH is looking into a vasectomy this week with my support so I guess that means our family is complete and we can enjoy the freedom of no contraception....what a relief!!
Oh, and Dash has found his feet......and I have to say that this is my FAVOURITE baby moment by far. It is just the cutest thing to see.
Looking forward to bub updates...I am now going to go back and read previous posts and come back for personals later. Take care everyone!! xx
Hi everybody
We've been having some fun times here lately. Jared is such a little chatterbox and just loves to hear himself chatter away.
Orange, isn't it gorgeous when they grab hold of their toes and get that look of total amazement on their faces?
Jared pushes himself along on his forehead too - crazy boy![]()
Bugger, gotta go feed the boy
hi ladies!!
Great to see mums and bubs doing so well!!
Orangefeather - that is wonderful that solids are going so well and that you will possibly be able to cut back on medication. I would like to do that also for Amara, although she is not quite ready for solids yet...she is a few weeks behind your bub.
Amara is really cubby right now.....her cheeks are so fat and lovely as are her thighs!! I remember Logan being like this at this stage too (and so was I from my baby pictures!).
Amara is sleeping as I expected at this age...about 6-7 hours without a feed but going to bed at 7.30pm and up for the day at 6am...which suits us well, as Logan gets up at this time too. The only thing I have to work harder at is reducing the amount of time that I feed Amara in the middle of the night (usually she wakes between 2-4am). some nights are good, I get her back into bed within 25mins - last night I feel asleep AGAIN and she was still sucking away on the breast for 1 hour.. I don't want it to become a habit for her to wake and get comfort from this, so i have to start reducing this.
How is the cloth nappy thing going for those who do it? I love it, and always looking for different AIOs in particular.
gotta go,
Sounds like everyone's bubs are doing really well. Max isn't rolling or moving much yet (well, he kind of goes around in a circle sometimes), but I htink he's finally getting closer to rolling. I'm trying to encourage it by rolling him myself, using his legs. He seems to enjoy it, so hopefully will get the picture soon!
As for solids, Max doesn't seem to be needing it yet, so we will wait as long as possible. He is a chubby little thing (into the 75th percentile for weight and length I think), so he is obviously getting enough milk! I'm hoping to get another 4 weeks or so at least before we start on solids.
Runner - We're still using cloth and I'm loving it too. We only use them during the day, as I can't be bothered dealing with them at night, and also don't have any night nappies and don't think the ones I have would be absorbent enough. I think I've got about 5 or 6 women in my mothers group on the cloth bandwagon too!
DH and I have been busy packing over the past few weeks and will be moving into out new house next week. We're doing it in stages (moving most furniture and boxes this weekend, then ourselves late next week) so that the new house can be painted before we move in. We're going to have so much more room, we won't know what to do with ourselves! Anyway, so I think I will be without a computer for at least a week (what will I do). I'll still be around for a few more days before then though.
Hey, is anyone thinking about another bub yet? A lady in my MG is pregnant again already! There will be 12 months between her bubs.
