Everyone has been so quiet lately! I've been without internet access for a week now and thought I would have missed out on heaps, but nope. Guess we're all just busy busy busy.

AFM, we have moved house (hence the no internet - and aren't likely to get it still for another week at least I think). Moving was a big job, and hard to do with a baby, but we're just about there. It didn't help that we got the house painted too (actually, it's still in the process of being painted, should be finished tomorrow). So we kind of moved in stages. Got a few more boxes to unpack and things to store in the spare rooms when the painting is finished, but we're almost done. DH and I went shopping yesterday for more furniture - that was fun!

Anyway, better go, got a crying boy (my nephew) who I should attend to.

    hi ladies,
I have not posted for ages either!!! Yes, life is busy but so good too!

My little Amara is sleeping well, she has done a few all night longs (7.30am to 6am) but often wakes at about 3 or 4 am for a quick feed then back to bed until 6 or 6.30am...we have to wake her at this time to start the day for the rest of us!

I am doing the Gold Coast Half marathon this sunday. It has not been a good 2 months for me - I have had constant injuries which is nothing to do with doing too much, as I have NOT! Just a bit of bad luck....but if I can get to the finish line on Sunday, I will be happy....as my heart and lungs are so ready!!

I am loving cloth nappies so much. I got a new Wild Child nappy lately and itti bitti d'lish is coming soon.

I have also started ebay selling...makes me feel useful, earn some money and de-clutter!!

Logan LOVES his little sister........we feel so blessed to have her in our family.

    take care everyone.

Boy it has been so quiet in here lately!

Bon, I hope you get Nixon's feeds sorted out soon.

Runner, isn't it great when they play with their little sibling? Ben and Jared are now really enjoying their baths together. Ben's always giving J toys to play with, but I'll think that will stop when J can crawl and Ben loses control of what he gives out

Gypsy, glad to hear the move went well. Can't imagine how hard it would all be with a little one.

Us, we're doing really well. Jared really has his nights sorted out now and it's rare that I won't get a 7 or 8 hour sleep in. Makes such a difference to my mental state and energy levels! He loves sitting up by himself and it's also made it easier for me to get stuff done around the house as I can just plonk him on the floor and he's happy to sit there and play with his toys. The only problem I have is if he is playing with a ball and it rolls away from him. Then he'll grunt until I go and give it back to him He seems pretty keen to crawl, but I'm not holding my breath. He gets up on all fours, and occassionally can push himself forward a bit, but it usually ends in a faceplant I don't blame him, I have trouble lugging his 10kgs around a lot of days

Hope you're all well, I'd love to hear some updates from you all!!!

Happy Half Birthday to Dash!! 6 months went sooooo quickly!!

Hello everyone! Looks like everyone has been busy with bubs! Certainly the case in house except add busy with a 'just turned 2' iykwim lol.

Has been an eventful couple of weeks.

Dash has been commando crawling since my last post so is into everything and can get from one end of the house to the other. He has done some real crawl 'steps' in the last few days so not long now....not that that really matters since he can already get to where he needs to go, although slowly lol! He is happy with that for now me thinks. No teeth here and not sitting either. He weighed in at a little over 8kg fully clothed when he had his needles on Monday, so I think he is around the 8kg mark! That is how heavy my DD was at 1!

I have successfully toilet trained my DD....night and day....the night part was easy because she has been waking up dry for nearly 6 months so nothing to do really. We have had 5 dry days in a row now. We have been taking an interest in it for a few weeks and letting DD go when she was curious but really only 'trying' every wee/poo for maybe 2 weeks. Bit too easy so just waiting for it all to fall to pieces lol!! She even goes at Daycare and when we are out! Loving it!!! Soooo much easier with one in nappies! Now I may even pull out the clothies for my little guy!

Dis and Runner: Totally agree that watching siblings interact is just wonderful. After DD's traumatic birth we weren't going to have any more children as you all know.....so glad we did. LOVE our little man! DD loves him too!

Gypsy and Son: Bet you are both glad the house moving is over. Now it is time to relax and enjoy those gorgeous bubbas. Must have been an enormous task with a baby! Couldn't imagine it!

Anyone back at work or returning soon? I am on the 6 week countdown. Not looking forward to it!

BFN and will be back to wish your babies happy 6 months as they reach this milestone. Best baby stage I say!

Hi girls!!!! It's been ages since I posted...... I'm slack!!! AND busy and just enjoying my little girl instead of being on BB all the time like I used to be when PG!

Runner - OMG! I could have written the same post as you!!! (almost!) haha I too have been de-cluttering junk and selling on ebay also!!! And we got some Itti Bitti D"Lish nappies at the brissy baby expo recently and they are just gorgeous!!! I love em!!!!
I have 9! the colours are beautiful. I love minkee!
How is the wild child? I want one of those nappies. Been looking at them. Where did u buy yours from??

We started DD on solids yesterday!! She took to it like a duck to water.... she had mashed banana and loved it! Gave a HUGE smile afterwards hehe and this morning we gave her baby rice cereal with mashed banana. Took a fair bit too!! Yay.... might try some sweet potato in a few days time. She is also trying teething rusks. No teeth yet just sore gums and LOTS of drool!!!!! hehe thankgod for bibs.

DD goes to swimming lessons once a week since 4mths and is doing really well. Instructor said she has good strong kicking legs for her age and loves lying on her back which many babies don't in the water. She also goes under the water a few times each lesson. NO tears either. Loves it!! We both love going each week its the highlight of our week. I grew up in the pool and swam alot so she might take after me. We would like to get her into nippers when she's old enough too in a few years time seeing as we live at the coast.

We've had some more rolls from DD too recently but still not full on rolling just yet... plenty of time she's only little and she is a real chatterbox and loves communicating with us! I love our little conversations we have together making different sounds. So cute. She loves sitting up alot (supported) and loves her Bumbo.

How is everyone going with solids? What foods are you all trying?

Hope you are all going well xx

    A big hello to everyone!

Nice to hear the updates on bubs Soph and Ren. We are cutting a tooth here as well. I can see the tooth, just waiting for it to cut through. Just a little grizzly at the moment but nothing too bad.

Nothing much to report from my end. I picked up our 2 new Maxi Rider AHR car seat today. Got a great bargain! So now to clean the car so they look great in the car. So, Dash will be turned around in his car seat as of tomorrow. My BIG boy! I used the last of the baby bonus payments to buy them. Sad that is all gone now....makes returning to work that bit closer. Only about 5 weeks left of my maternity leave.

DH has his vasectomy tomorrow.....going to be a bitter-sweet day.

Orange & Soph - glad to hear things are going well for you and the kids!

Is anyone else here not in any hurry to turn their bubs around from rear to forward facing in their car seats?? I think I'm going to keep DD in rear-facing for as long as possible and as long as she seems comfy like that.... I have read it's much safer for them kept rear facing? What is everyones thoughts? She seems happy in that position anyway as long as she has her mirror and her toys with her!

Hope you all have a nice weekend planned.

    Shanti.....love the name change btw

DD was very lean and long. By 8 months she was only 7kg (so not heavy enough to turn) but her legs were all scrunched up as her feet were touching the back seat and she was nearly walking. I rang Kidsafe and they decided it was safe to turn her around at this point. Dash's feet are now touching the back seat and he is always trying to arch his back to sit himself up in the seat....plus he is nearly 9kg (DD didn't weigh this at 1 lol!) and already 6 months old. I say do what you think is right. Ava is still only 5 months old and quite petite so would be fine to keep her reward facing for while yet if she (and you) are happy....no rush. I have done it completely differently both times based on each of my bubs needs and have kept them both rearward facing for as long as it was safe for them. If you are unsure look at the Kidsafe website. It has plenty of useful information about carseats and you can always call like I did. Very helpful. HTH

    Hi girls,

Shanti (took me a while to figure out you changed your name!), I haven't turned Jared around yet, and he's nearly 10kgs and almost 70cms. He'll be six months old on Sunday. He is quite content facing backwards and I can hang some toys off his seat straps that way which he really likes. I'm in no hurry to turn him around, although Ben was turned at 5 months even though he was a smaller bub ~ but then again, everybody is a smaller bub than Jared
We've started Jared on solids too. So far he's had some banana, (which he loved at first) rice cereal (which he really, really likes, probably because it's mixed with booby juice) and some sweet potato. I'm going to cook up some apples tonight and we'll try them on the weekend. I'm taking it really slow since Ben has some strange allergies (strawberries and mangoes!). J still loves his booby above all else though and is still refusing any and every bottle.

Orange, I love my maxi-rider AHR! We'll be getting one for J when I see them really cheap again. We got 30% off Ben's so I'll be looking for something similar. No hurry though, we can still turn his carseat around when he's too big for rear-facing.
I know of so many guys going in for the snip soon! My DH will be getting off lightly after we've had our last bub. I hate not being on the pill as my body goes nuts, so I'm quite happy to take that forever!
Well done on the TT your little girl! Ben is still not interested. We'll at least wait until the spring, maybe later to encourage it a bit more. I'll let him run around starkers then - if he'll do it.

Us, we had a busy day visiting all of the boys' cousins. Ben had a ball, but I've been feeling a bit off colour. I actually feel like I've got morning sickness, but it would be an immaculate conception, so I don't have to worry Jared's two bottom teeth have been bothering him, I'm hoping when they finally cut, he'll stop biting me! He's sleeping well though, Ben always slept really well when he was cutting teeth too - strange I know! We all start swimming lessons in two weeks. We managed to get both boys into the same class so DH and I will both be going as well. Should be a lot of fun. Ben used to do lessons before I went back to work last year.

Jared is doing really well with his reaching and balancing. He can reach right over to the side while he's sitting, to get something, and then correct his balance. He still hasn't rolled back to front yet, but has done front to back a few times now. He's not showing too much interest in crawling, but he doesn't need to, Ben is already running around picking up toys for him!

    Have a good weekend.

Shanti - I'm like you, will keep DD rear facing as long as possible - i'll probably only turn her around once her legs get too long to be comfortable in the recline position...

    Goodbye my friends

    Morning everyone

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, but am sure we are all in the same boat there.

Sam is doing really well. He's getting more alert and active everyday, it's just so fantastic to watch him grow. Sometimes I get a tear in my eye when he does the tiniest of things but I guess I can just put that down to my journey & how much I love being a Mummy.

Well, as the title suggests I've decided to move on from belly belly. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing part of my journey with me - it was so lovely to have such a great group of ladies to go through our pregnancies together. I'm moving on for about a hundred different reasons, the main one is that I just don't really have time anymore. And when I do get a spare half hour or so I log on and find that belly belly isn't the happy supportive place that it was when I originally joined. A simple thread turns into a me vs. you (not you all personally but ykwim - so to speak) battle and I just feel I don't have time for that. And to be perfectly honest I just find a few individuals (not in this thread) to be plain rude, thoughtless, tactless and argumentative. But anyway, that is my opinion and I will leave it there so everyone else can continue to enjoy BB. It's just become one of those things that isn't for me.

So.... big big hugs to you all and your little ones! I wish you all the very best! Those who I already know on the outside I will enjoy keeping up to date with you there.

    GIRLS!
My frustration with this site/ (most likely my computer) has hit an all time high! lol I have written about 6 posts in the last month and none of them have actually made it up onto the forum! Grrr...finger's crossed this one works! I have been reading all your updates though...

AJC- WOW! I am really sorry to hear BB has turned for the worst for you and I completely understand. In the beginning of my pregnany I was apart of another site similar to this one, and because of their cynical, up-tight, pathetic ideas on women, childbirth and the world, I very happily moved on and found you guys! Havn't had any of those problems here so far...but I admit to not really exploring the site anymore than this thread which is lovely Anyway...Thankyou also for sharing your journey with us and in turn letting us share ours with you. From the bottom of my heart I wish you and your family all the very best. Goodbye and goodluck! Kisses from me and Caiden to you!!

Solids: Caiden is a massive solids eater. As I have mentioned, he became extremely unsatisfied with his bottle right on four months and introuduced solids right after that. He is currently eating two bowls of solids a day-fruit in the morning, vegies at night but as he is now six months, I think i'll throw another bowl in around lunchtime. He just eats and eats and eats!! I have been mushing my own vegies for bub but not so much the fruit. I don't know about where you guys are, but there is just NO fruit in season so I have been using pre-made fruit solids which I personally have no problem with. The solids these days are pretty wonderful actually.

What are your solid schedules like???

Teething: It's taken me ages to decide wether Caiden is teething or not. His symptoms are very momentary and seem to rapidly stop and start. But this past 48hrs his been rubbing his tounge over his bottom gum, very wingy, horrible sleeping at night..still nodding off at 6-7ish but from 11pm onwards..he wakes generally every hr and needs to be re-settled, very stinky nappies and red cheeks at certain times of the day. So i think it's happening. Poor little thing's...in so much pain!

As for us, Caiden is doing very well. He is just so wonderful and makes me laugh everyday. He is no where near sitting..still falls to one side like a drunk hehe but he is rolling front to back constantly and making his first attemps at crawling..but does get frustrated easily at this. he has also been holding himself up on furniture too. I rekion he'll be walking b4 his crawling! He loves playing in the mirror and his jolly jumper is still the love of his life (and mine!) and he has actually taught himself how to swing on it hehe...he does a big jump..brings his knees to his tummy and swings wwwwweeeeeeee... lol. Have to watch him VERY closely on it now his doing that...

Anyway- sorry for the brief topics, figured i'd catch up in a lump sum and do personals from here on lol...

Hope you and your beautiful angels are all well!

    Good afternoon all!

Big hello to everyone! Nice to see you again Ella_Bear!

AJC: What Caiden's has written is spot on and I understand your reasons for leaving.....I too have thought about pulling the plug for similar reasons. So I have decided not to journey or post outside of this thread, especially since I have made some parenting decisions that don't sit well out there in the big BB world and are often the target for critism......having said that, it seems to be a select few and ALL the girls in this thread have been absolutely supportive and non-judegemental....which is why I will continue to post here. Like Shanti has written in her sig.... Why can't we all just focus on mothering our babies rather than who's doing what and who's using what! I see our thread as a celebration of the wonderful things our precious babies are doing and a place for support and advice. I just wanted to say thank YOU for sharing your journey with us, it certainly was quite different from the journeys that most of us took (premmie bub and all), and to wish you and your family the best of luck in the real world. Please take care and spoil your precious Sam with plenty of hugs and kisses. xx PS Happy 7 months to Sam!

Caidens: So nice to hear from you and to read what little Caiden has been up to. It sounds like he is keeping you busy! I often copy my post before actually posting because that often happens to me too! Glad to hear that Caiden is loving his food! Had to laugh about the JJ...Dash is not a fan, I think because of the reflux issues he has. Would be cute to see! Have you filmed it? BTW, Dash has 2 solid meals (soon to be 3) of veges only. I limit his fruit intake to a banana once in a while and a couple of times a week I 'sweeten' his vege with a little pear....only because we are trying to keep away from acidic fruits atm due to the reflux. He does LOVE mashed banana and avocado together....sounds gross but try it! I am going to introduce some berries this week in either sweet potato or farex to start with. I find sweet potato is a good base for a lot of baby food. Chat soon.

Sonie: How is little Nixon? Hope he is improving and putting on weight!

Soph: Hope H has cut his tooth already...poor mite.

Dis: Jared is so clever with his sitting. Ben would probably enjoy it more...easier to interact and play? Great that Ben is sharing toys. That is a big problem in our house at the moment. DD owns everything and is often snatching things away from Dash. Working on that one. Good idea about waiting for spring to TT. DD left me with no choice really so had to go with it! Was quite tricky with undies, track pants and her special shoes to get it all co-ordinated properly. She often wet her shoes and clothes and that meant loads of washing....not mention how cold it was! I think watching the other kids at daycare helped her become keen to TT. We still get a few 'poo' accidents though so working on that. Got to say though, you know you have done a great job at TT when your DD yells, "Wooo Hooo Mum....you did it! You did wee in the toilet! Hi-5"....claps her hands and pats you on the back after passing you the toilet paper and telling you "Don't forget to wash your hands!".

Shanti: I loved reading your post about DD. You sound like such a proud mumma....and so you should be! Glad that DD is enjoying swimming. It is the best thing to do with a bub and I have no regrets starting DD at the same age. I will be waiting a couple of more months (next term maybe) to start Dash because he has had a bad cough and because of the reflux. Can't wait though! Being a Mum is the best!

AFM: Dash is asleep and I am about to wake him up to take him to the Dr. I think he is fine. He has had a rattling cough for about 3 weeks now but it seems to be getting worse and he is having coughing fits. He is down to three 1hr sleeps during the day but it seems that we are lucky to get 20 minutes atm because he wakes himself up. Still sleeping great at night and seems happy enough....but you know, mothers instinct says to get it checked, agian. Can't ignore that....it is the stongest power and the best gift a mother can get. Talk soon.....

    xx

    ETA: Happy half birthday Caiden!!

Orange : Could not have said it better myself, well written!! - and yes i totally agree (although i have been slack in posting here ) the ladies in this group have been truly wonderful and it has been lovely to journey with all of you from pregnancy to birth and to read up on the posts about your beautiful bubbas

AFM: Ella keeps me on my toes and i never thought i could have so much love for one person - She is coming along in leaps and bounds, has been on solids since 4.5 mths and has cut the bottom middle tooth with the one next to it just starting to rear its head so needless to say i have one very grumpy bubba on my hands atm!

a BIG to everyone and its lovely to see all your bubbas are doing so well

Hi - thanks for the lovely things you have said. And, orange you have got it exactly right saying don't venture outside the thread. I think that is where I went wrong! Obviously I don't want to mention specific threads but as someone who ttc for 2+ years and went through 2 miscarriages I just, over time, have found quite a few threads to be quite upsetting. It's just left a bad taste in my mouth with belly belly as a whole. Thanks heaps for understanding, and I reiterate that I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this thread with you lovely people and your little ones. Also wanted to apologise if my post the other day came across a little harsh/angry. I'd just read something (a thread) that I shouldn't have (as given my history it upset me & made me a bit angry) which made up my mind I needed to move on. Again, big hugs & thanks.
