AJC - I understand completely. BB has changed. I look forward to keeping up with our emails though keep in touch.

    Orange
    - thanks heaps! I sure am one proud mumma I have fallen in love with our little girl... she is just an absolute delight. Being a mummy is the best! I couldnt imagine spending my day any other way other than with her.
Sorry to hear of Dash's cough. It's awful when they are sick like that. DD has had two of those yucky coughs.

Dis - sounds like you're solids plan is similar to ours!! We did banana then apple (mixed with rice cereal) and now tonight DD tried Sweet Potato! Wasn't too keen on it though however she was VERY tired tonight so maybe that didnt help!
    Solids is fun huh!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their bubba's and keeping well.
I don't post much on BB these days as I spend my days enjoying our little girl rather than spending too much time on BB.
Will check back in here again soon.

Just a quick note from me also!!

AJC - good on ya - I completely understand also - we TTC for 3 years for our little Amara and it was HARD emotionally and I never want to go through that again. 2 little children are wonderful and I will always be grateful. The very best of a lovely life to you and your family!!

Shanti - yes,I love Itti bitti d'lish nappies! The wild child is great, but not as good as the others........why? well, it is a very light nappy, great for having on for a little while and not bulky but would not trust it for a long time.

Amara is now 5 and a half months. She is on rice cereal and I may start Pumpkin this weekend!! All fun.

what do you do about biting on the nipple?? ahh........sorry, but Amara has been doing this a fair bit, which our son did not.

gotta go, school pick up time!!

Has Amara got teeth yet? Ava doesnt but OMG she can munch down pretty hard lately too!! It hurts! And she will drag my nipple away with her mouth but not let go... she was doing it earlier today.... ouch!! I took it off her its cos her gums are sore. I think with older babies you can say "NO! " firmly and take it away for 5mins from them. and they learn pretty quick but im not sure with 5mth olds i dont want to raise my voice at her!!! lol
Thanks for telling me about the Wild Child... i might give that a miss then. I had heard mixed reviews about them. Yes the D'Lish are my fav at the moment they are just gorgeous!!!! so trim!!

Solids is fun hey!! We are really enjoying it. Sweet potato is the latest trend in our house....

Does anyone else here have babylegs?? they are great for wearing with the MCNs.... we have 4pairs and just ordered two more.... I love them!!! They're so funky!!!

Oh by the way everyone i am RENSTAR but changed my name for those who werent sure before!!!!

Runner - Ella does the same thing and with two tiny sharp teeth it is extremely painful - i take her off the bbs as soon as she does it and in a "stern" voice, say "Ella no biting" - and she looks at me, smiles, and latches back on beautifully - she's only bitten me twice but it HURT!!

    Hi ladies!

It took me a while to figure out your new name Orange/Luckystar!

I've had the biting of the bbs too. I'm a bit to scared to say "NO!" too sternly because I did that with Ben when he was 11.5 months old and he then refused the breast for a week, I gave him EBM but he never wanted bbs again Of course, I might have been a bit louder then since he had a LOT of teeth by that stage and it brought me to tears because it hurt so much. The problem is that now I say 'No biting!" to Jared and he just laughs at me! Little bugger!

Solids are going okay here. Jared isn't terribly fussed either way. He'll have them sometimes and not at others, but that's fine with me. He still bfs like a champ so I'm not worried. He's such a mummy's boy though. I filled in at indoor netball this week, fed him before I went, was gone only an hour and a half and still came back to an upset and starving bubba. He hates it when I'm not around. It's so exhausting! He even has days where he won't go to anybody else, even DH! Drives me batty since, carrying him around is so tiring. It won't last forever though, and it is a bit nice sometimes that he loves his mummy so much!

We are starting swimming lessons on Thursday, I can't wait! Jared and Ben are in the same class, so DH and I will both be going. It should be a lot of fun.

AJC, if you are still around... were you in the lastest issue of Essence? I read a story that sounded a lot like yours

    Hey there yummy mummy's!

Luckystar-I didn't know you had FB! If you search Felicity Debenham, I think I am second on list-either way my profile pic is a black and white one of Caiden and I touching forheads! Look forward to seeing you on there...and anyone else who has FB add me if you wish =]

DisGirl-Naw it's beautiful your bubby can't be without you! Caiden has his days where it's me and othertimes his daddy, but he has been bottlefed from 2 weeks old so he knows dad means food as much as mum hehe. I do love it now that Caiden is reaching out to have cuddles..making it known who he wants a hug from and when!

AFM, Caiden is just gobbling his solids up left right and centre. He is always hungry! Eating three times a day-Rice cereal with fruit in morning, fruit for lunch and vegies for dinner. He is loving it. Pretty much loves everything and anything-except avacoado. He vomited it all straight up the other day. Hopefully it isn't a reaction but i'll try again in a few months. He is still struggling to sit up right but rolling and almost crawling everyday. He has also discovered that banging kitchen utensils on everything makes a cool banging noise! So its been noisy this side of town this week hehe.

Just wondering if you girls have had or are having a dedication/naming day for your bubbys?? People keep asking me and I don't really understand the concept????

Give your little angels a kiss from me and Caiden

Caiden'smummy - we are baptising Ella this Sunday - so more of a religious thing for us! I think a naming day is a non-religious way of welcoming your bub into the family and including those ppl who are special in their lives (the equivalent of Godparents in a religious ceremony) - i have PM'd you a link with info on what Naming Day entails- HTH

Caiden's: We had a naming day for Dash when he was about 11 weeks old! We did the same for DD. DD wore my christening dress and DS wore a lovely linen suit that he wore home from hospital...it is now the family 'boy' outfit as it was picked by his godmothers (we call them fairy god mothers hehe) as he is the first boy in my family and DH's family didn't have any traditions that they followed. Naming Days are traditionally non-religious, however we did have some reference to my religion in there as I was christened....I also have some family members who are regular church goers so it suited us quite well.

Basically, you can do as you please. DD's ceremony theme was about grandparents, uniting families and spring. DS's ceremony was about siblings and the completion of our family. We dedicated a song to our children (Butterfly Kisses for DD and Beautiful Boy for DS), said a prayer, poem reading and we had a candle lighting ceremony where the grandparents, parents and 'Fairy God Mothers' passed a flame around....we light the lanterns that held the candle at each birthday. At DS's, DD let balloons go from our family olive treee that we planted in a pot (in our garden) at the ceremony. The idea being that it represents peace and abundance (of love) and we as a family watch it grow as our children grow. At a freinds ND they had each guest sew a button on a 'tree of life' that will then be quilted into a blanket/wall hanging for bub by the grandmothers! Plenty of ideas if you search the net but basically with a naming day you make your own traditions so to speak. With two different religious beliefs between our families (and DH and I - one semi-religous, one absolutely not) it worked well for us and we were pleased that we were able to welcome our bubs to the world! The ceremony also talked about the meaning of a name and that the name had be chosen with love etc. etc. HTH I think it is a personal choice and absolutely OK to do nothing at all as well!

Ella_Bear: Hope the baptism goes well....look forward to seeing some photos? Enjoy the day! Don't forget to come back and do a proud mummy post!

Hello to all and hope you are having a great week! xx

LS & EB-THANKYOU so much for your help, suggestions, experiences and ideas. I knew that baptism was common among religious families i was baptised as a child, but me and my partner are both non-religious so I didn't really get the difference! but now I do!! thanks so much for the PM also...it sounds lovely and i think i might organsie a naming day for Caiden, if I ever find the time! Thanks so much again

EB-glad your day was special =] and hugs in re. to your dad. He was there

Caiden is still the centre and love of my life. His personality is jst coming out more and more every day and Im loving every milli sec of it! He has got rolling down pat, is very near crawling, but still stuggles to sit up. He can sit with his hands on the floor...but only upstraight if his focusing on one spot and usually topples over after 10secs or so. But all in good time =]

Very quick post I know, but just wanted to say thankyou and hello to all you mummys!

    Love to you all x.x

OMG Ellabear look at all of Ella's hair! How gorgeous! My boys are baldie babies. Ben didn't get seeable hair until he was 15 months old. Jared has heaps of hair that is about 2 inches long, but is snow white so you can't see it unless he's in sunlight
Ella's baptism sounds lovely. I'm glad you had such a nice day.

I am just having so much fun with my boys these days, it really is great. Last week Jared had a growth spurt (like he needs it!) and was up every 2-3 hours for a feed. I felt like death warmed up all week, but it was only for five days. Now he's back to his usual sleeping patterns which is such a relief.

They love each other so much, Jared just looks at Ben with complete adoration and they have these funny little episodes where one of them will start laughing, and then the other starts and they both go into hysterics! You can't help but laugh at them when they're like that. If anybody walked in and saw us, they'd think we were all mad, just sitting there laughing at each other
Jared must be the biggest 6 month old expert in Thomas and Friends as Ben has been teaching him all the engines names and numbers Ben even lets him play with them, which is amazing because he doesn't like it when other kids touch his beloved engines.

Jared is still growing (!!!), and almost rolled over today for the first time! He's got the front to back down pat, but still hasn't done back to front. Today he was SO close! Oh well. He's also commando crawling now.... so I really have to get around to washing my floors... either that or I'll have to strap sponges to his elbows and belly

Well, that's about it. Hope you're all well and enjoying this gorgeous weather - if you're in Sydney!
