Hi Shanti, nice to see you're still BFing! ...Boy it's good to get this far down the track and know that it DID get easier!
Oh hi BabyQ!! Thank you! It sure is an awesome feeling to have made it this far.... we have no plans to stop anytime soon either Sounds like things are going great for you too!!! Yay! Well done to you.

Caidensmummy - yeah it does sound like Caiden and Ava are similar! Thats great he loves his cauliflower. I havent given that to Ava yet.... heard it gives them bad wind? Now she is 7mths (eeeek!) i might try it!! and i love caidens picture! he's gorgeous...

We are doing 3 meals a day now and all is going well.... she loves her food. Especially her yoghurt and fruits!!!
Yesterday marked a special day for Ava! She has been practising sitting up for a few weeks now and officially began yesterday sitting up on her own for longer than a few minutes!!! And today, i plonked her down and she sat up for 30mins!!! So she is officially sitting up now yay!!!! so proud of her. she's not big on the rolling so this is a huge thing!

Hope everyone has a special fathers day planned for their partners/husbands? I'm surprising Marty tomorrow with an 'experience" he has no idea what it is... im so excited can't wait!!!!!

Welcome Baby Q!! Congratulations on successful breastfeeding. We have a nice mix of breastfeeding/bottlefeeding mums in here so there is lots of positive support either way. I myself bottle feed. Look forward to learning more about you and bub.

Shanti: Sounds like Ava is doing a great job with her solids and YEY for her sitting all on her own!! DS is still on mushy foods 2-3 times a day but still prefers his milk. I did have DD on more solid food by this stage but DS seems to just swallow/guzzle without any gumming etc. He'll get there lol! Maybe when he gets some teeth hehe! Anyway, always have a giggle when you post about new nappies......how many do you have?

Caidens: OMG about Caiden's teeth!! That is sooooo many. No wonder he hasn't been a happy chappy. DS is going to cut one any day now but it has been pretty much a non-event other than going off his food/milk and a little extra sleepy. I guess the bright side is that hopefully he will have all his teeth quite quickly and you can move onto the next phase lol! Bet you are taking plenty of toothy pics - how cute!!

Jo: Nice to see you pop in again. How is Caleb going? I don't have you on my facebook.....maybe one of other girls could suggest me as a friend??

Dis: Thanks for asking after me re work. It has been quite a transition but I am doing it slowly. I did one day the first week, two the next and maybe three this week. My goal is to keep it a 3 maybe 4 days a week until the kids go to school. It will just be hard for the rest of the year trying to co-ordinate childcare with casual work etc. They do spend some days with my mum which is good. Next year I will return as part-time and will have consistent days so there will be no juggling act. The kids are coping really well....just tiring trying to work, be a good mum, keep house etc all at the same time. Bummer about Ben being allergic to penicillan (sp) AB's....that's going to make things hard. Did you find a daycare that you like yet?? It has taken DD 12 months to really enjoy going and now she doesn't want to come home. Took a while but I feel happy and relaxed when I send her to CC now. I can now leave without tears!!

Ella: I LOVE looking at the pics of DD on facebook. She is just sooooo gorgeous and has a gorgeous head of hair. You probably hear that a lot though hehe.

AFM: Nothing new happening here other than Dash starting Daycare once a week. The centre commented that they have not once seen a baby settle without crying or caring that Mum has left. I'm sure that is great for DS and for them but to be honest I felt a little lost and uncared for hehe. Then again, it is just as awful when they do cry when you leave so I can't win really lol!! He didn't even really care that I came back to get him. He did all the right things and self-settled etc. etc. I just can't get over how 'easy' he is...for now anyway. I am predicting he will be a quiet but sneaky kid. I also think he will be a fussy eater too.....only time will tell. I'm sure he will be very active and into everything (cos he is now).

DS is starting to be brave and let go of furniture OMG!! Sometimes he gets the odd step in before falling in a heap on the ground, only to get up and do it all again lol!! I am not ready for this but have no choice. It is exhausting trying to keep track of him and we have many accidents when he falls when walking around the furniture. I have also found him a couple of times choking on things which is very scary. HE IS NOW IN SIZE 1!!!! What a big boy!!

    Chat soon,
    L

Lucky - Wow I can't believe Dash is taking the odd step! Max isn't interested in even trying to stand, even when I'm holding on to him. Just bends his knees... Oh well.

Shanti - How did your fathers day 'experience' go? What did you do? My DH got to go to the footy - without DS. Gee I'm a nice wife!!! I did make him get up earlier than usual though so he got to spend a bit of time with DS in the morning.

Caidens - Wow, 6 teeth all at once! Max has got his first 2 bottom ones and that's all so far. I'm not looking forward to the top ones coming as I've heard the biting while BF can get much worse

AFM we had a bad couple of days at the end of last week - Max had a high temp and just wasn't himself. He cried pretty much all day on Fri and didn't sleep well Thurs or Fri night. I actually slept him in our bed for most of the night on Fri - first time ever! Thank goodness he was pretty much back to his usual sunny self by Saturday though. It's so hard seeing them not well - especially when you don't know what is wrong. I had taken him to the doc on Thurs, but he oculdn't find anything. I thought in the end maybe it was teething, but no sign of any more just yet.

Other than that, well Max is sitting really well. I usually still put a cushion behind him cos he sometimes throws himself backwards for fun, but he doens't really overbalance anymore. He can roll tummy to back (but not the other way) but isn't really interested since the first week when he did it all the time. Still sleepign really well during the day, which is great for me! And has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now, which is even better! He is also saying 'buba' and I think maybe last night said 'muma'. I think he will buck the trend and say mum before dad though as his sounds are more like mum than dad.

Anyway, better go wake him up. I know - never wake a sleeping baby! But he's been asleep for nearly 2 hours now adn I don't really like him to go too far past 11 with his morning sleep. Then we're out and about before getting home by 2 for his afternoon sleep

Hi ladies, we had a lovely fathers day here, Caleb and Daddy spent the morning in bed together playing while i cooked up a feast for breakfast. Caleb gave DH his present which was a painting from him and the cat and some Homer Simpson slippers.

Caleb is soooo close to crawling, he gets on all fours and rocks back and forth for a bit but mainly he just pushes backwards until he gets to where he wants to be and then turns around. Very cute. He much prefers just sitting up and playing though. He sat by himself for the first time on the day he turned 6 months old and we just watched for like half an hour waiting for him to topple over but he never did hahaha, now he pulls himself up to me.

Naps are becoming interesting due to him pulling himself up in teh cot.... ugh! and i think he is teething again. He has his bottom two teeth already and i am pretty sure i feel and see the third next to it. He has a temp as well so i dont know.

Caleb now has two naps a day 1.5 hours each and still sleeps a solid 12 hours at night. We are currently trying for Number 2!!! very exciting, we have only just started trying so who knows how long it will take.

Gypsy -sounds like your little guy was teething, glad he is feeling better now though!!!

Luckystar - if you can tell me who from here is on your FB friends list i might be able to find you, i have Shanti and Caidens mummy on mine.

well im off to watch a DVD. catch up wiht you all later
