Marshy if its any consolation princess Ruby's longest sleep is 3 hours! LOL.
Kim we filled our forms off in hossy and sent them off so got ours back straight away too..bugger they lost yours though..too annoying. The commerative ones are so sweet..we got the teddies one.
We had toddler gym today. Ruby was in the sling being admired by everyone who thought i was going to burst at the end of term last year lol. She slept through the whole thing, through hokey pokey, dingly dangly scarecrow...everything! Feeling very very tired right now, though...lack of sleep is certainly catching up with me. A good thing though is that Darren is dropping to 4 days a week yay..so will have every friday off from now on to spend time with the kids. After the 4 week hols he just didnt want to miss any more time with them, so am looking forward to that!
Have a good night everyone! Bubbies sleep well!

Mummy meltdown....my baby girl Chelsea was playing with the oven tonight....we have child proof locks on the switches....BUT she is smart....i heard a little cry and she came running to me....showed me her hands but couldnt se enothing and she ran away....next i hear 'Hot sissy'...and im like WTF....ran to the kitchen and she had turned it on....and burnt her ring and little finger on the element. Ran it under cold water for ages then drove her to the dr. He said it all looks good and dry, but we have to go back on Sunday to see how things are going with the burn. Has some brown cream on it and fingers taped up.....poor baby....i feel like the worst mummy ever :(
-
Kim thats awful these little ones are so clever aren't they? I guess you can just about everything in the book to avoid accidents but they are bound to happen and most of the time its character building. Like my DH has a scar on his top lip where when he was a toddler he was chewing his dads belt buckle and he fell on it and the metal thingo went through his top lip and split it. Blood everywhere. But now its character building and I love it. I do hope she heals well and learns her lesson.
DH said JD went down by 12.30 last night and I had to get him up for his feed at 7am this morning. pretty happy with that.
-
Awww Kim sorry to hear that. Poor little Chelsea...hope her fingers heal quickly.
Jo
-
Aww Kim, hope Chelsea will be ok...I always worry about Charlotte doing things like that.
How are u Melbourne and Sydney girls handling the heat? Hope u are all ok. I feel very lucky that we aren't having as hot weather. How is Perth Jo?
Well Harley just won't settle this morning for longer then half hour, having cat naps which is annoying as trying to get other stuff done, but hoping it means he will sleep better tonight but not always the case lol
Looks like I'll have Charlotte in day care at least one day a week soon, found out wat my percentage for Child Care benefit is and now just gotta find a place! Will do her and me so good!! Hope to have her in 2 days after a couple of months, means I can have a day to do housework and spend time with Harley and hopefully get a nap in! hehe
Well hope u girls are having lovely weekends even with the heat, hope u don't lose any power for those who have aircon and hope the aircon is working well!!
Just having a quiet one myself although it is Robs birthday today, but he is working up in the shed. Might have chinese for dinner tonight, and if I get round to it will make him a cake...feel bad I couldn't get a nice one for him, but really its just us 2 and Charlotte who can eat it so no point getting a big cake...doing that next weekend for our combined B'day BBQ as mine is on the 25th Feb!
Okies I'm gonna head off, seems Harley is asleep on the bed behind me, lets hope he stays asleep for a good hour or so! Luckily its already been 2 hours since his last feed, trying to get him to go longer then 2 hours..
Take care girls!!
Deb :)
-
Well I think the Mylanta is helping my little hero, although he is not completely settled after his feeds he has seemed to be a fair bit happier. We will give it another couple of days and if that doesn't improve some more we will give him his medicine 3 times a day. I do feel relief though that at least
I know that his unsettled and crying was not generally normal. I just pray that we have found a solution for him and we can all start to enjoy each other now. This first month has been so much tougher than I expected I pray that this next month is much better.
-
Amanda how did the scan go the other day...sorry if you said how it went and i totally missed the post. Glad JD is doing much better now :)
-
I typed this up yesterday, but then DH took over my Facebook, and I had to save it, so it's a bit all over the place - sorry.
Hey Kim, Riley did a similar thing a few months ago, and touched the hot stove, when DH had turned it off and finished cooking. You feel so bad! What happened to your long fence/gate?
I was going to see if you wanted to catch up again soon. P is at Kindy Monday arvo, Weds morn and Thurs arvo. Did you want to come to me this time? We have great aircon if it's hot, and a tramp outside for the little ones to burn their energy on.
Let me know what suits you. Hope Chels is OK!
Deb - I did the same thing with P. 5 weeks of trying to express about 20 mils each time, and bottle feeding with BM & Formula. Then once I was off the expressing, his screaming stopped but his constipation/bowel condition showed itself. Once you stop giving Harley BM, if he gets constipated try infant Coloyxl drops from the chemist, if that doesn't work, see a GP, but most kids get backed up on just formula alone, so don't worry if he does OK.
I get really all over the place mentally until my BM has dried up. The hormones are really bad for my state of mind. Amanda, you might find that you feel better if and when you stop BFing. Now chick, do me a favour, do not under any circumstances come off your meds (unless you are allergic) for AT LEAST 6 - 12 months. You will start to feel better over the next week to 2 weeks, but keep taking them. If you come off them too quick or too early, you can have a major relapse, and I have been to 2 funerals too many for friends who have committed suicide because of depression.
I don't want to scare you, just make you aware, these meds are powerful stuff and need to be treated seriously. I should know, I've mucked around with mine in the early days, and have paid the price and will need to be on them for at least until Judd is 1 before I think about coming off them. I have also been suicidal twice, and honestly thought that my DH and P would be much better off without me in their lives. So it can happen to anyone, just take them every day and when you are ready to come off them, do it very slowly.
Hey Kim I love your new avatar! V cute.
Well it was very smokey down our way yesterday and I txt Kim to see how they were as I heard of fires near both of us, and sure enough she had fires near her and didn't even know it! It's been a terrible weekend in Victoria, and I hope that's that for this summer.
-
Well we are back from the dr....Chelsea's ring finger isnt good....seems to have caused some damage, its been dressed and we have to go back again tomorrow, and probably for the next few days for dressing.
Tash would love to catch up again. Im free Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays...so what ever day suit you, and we'll come to you for sure this time. We took the fence down as it wasnt stopping Chelsea at all, she kept jumping over it and kept hurting her chin. Nothing stops her....if its child proof...then it ISNT Chelsea proof....she is to smart for safety items.
Fires were indeed near us and as Tash said, didnt even know. A friend of me sent me a text saying the fires were between me and the railway station (which is only like 2 km away). Right behind our house is grass, which was only mowed on Friday so im thankful nothing has happened there, we also have all the power lines behind us.

For those who added their details to the 'Whos Due' list you can now add you details on bubs arrival.
So when they were born, gender, name, early/late and if it was a c/s.
I was going to post the details for those who were in the list there already, but thats not my place to do it, so if you want to have them there then go make a post: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1649694

Oh no..just rescuing our thread from the second page! Hope you are all wellxxx

We go back again next Tuesday for his 4 weeks check up...today was his umm...2 week check up...LOL....stupid centre booked it a bit late i know :p

Thats great Kim..hes doing really well. You are a brilliant mumma!
-
Aw thanks Jo :)
:birthday2: Happy Birthday Kirsten :birthday2:
I hope you get super spoilt and have a great day with your little man!
-
:happybirthday::confetti:Happy Birthday Kirsten!! Hope u have a wonderful day!:birthday2:
Well yesterday I had a real unsettled day with Harley...was pulling my hair out, he was cat napping the whole day and got so unsettled... was having a few smaller feeds but more often like every 2 hours...
Finally got him to sleep at 9pm, had aircon on in the room and he slept thru till 2.45!! 15mins short of 6 hours! Then was up around 5.45am... and now is unsettled again...although prob due for a bottle now.
Got Charlotte on a waiting list for the local day care! So happy bout that...hopefully soon they will have a spot for her, just need that one day break!
Well I better get going, lil man is now really getting upset!! Hope ur lil bubbas are being good and that u are all well!!
Take care
Deb :)
-
Deb i hope Harley gives you a break today. When they are unsettled its so hard to keep sane, especiall when you have a toddler (or 2) to deal with at the same time. Ive now droped Chelsea's day sleeps as she was refusing to go to bed at night and i was up til midnight every night battling to get her to bed...when i could have been in bed myself by 1030 cos thats when Zach feeds last now.
Lastnight we fed at 1030, he left 70ml (from 150ml) and he slept til 7am.....of course silly me never went to bed til after midnight cos i was up talking to Craig about things..
Also...Happy 1 month to Harley and Zachery...cant believe how fast thats gone hey Deb.....seeing though we had to wait over a week for them to arrive.....time has flown since they arrived.
Where is every to BTW......must be busy with bubbas!
-
I read up every now and then, usually when i'm feeding Larissa. Its so difficult to do that and type one handed! Tris has gone back today after 5 and a half weeks off and its actually so nice! When hes home he demandsmy attention as much as Larissa does but then when I'm feeding her he still goes and does his own thing and just so happens to only go out and see his friends in the evening when shes suffering with wind so by the time shes settled its time for me to sleep. Thank God that once shes down, she sleeps for about 7 hours!
Is anyone doing anything nice for valentines day? I think we'll just give it a miss. Anyone know someone affected by the fires or floods? Must be awful for them!!!
-
:confetti:Happy 1 month old to Zach! Can't believe it either Kim, its gone heaps fast, wish it would slow down, knew it would be this way after waiting all that time for them to arrive!!
Harley has been a good boy today! Charlotte has been pretty good as well, no sleep for her as we got home around 2.30, so bit late for that, so shes just happy to play. Put a lay by on for her winter clothes at Big W as they have a baby sale on! Can't believe my baby girl is in a size 3!! Only cos she is so tall! And a bit solid, actually shes the size and length of a average 4 year old!! So got one tall girl on my hands!
Oh I can't wait till Harley sleeps a good 7 hours straight, I wanted to go down just after him last night, but Rob wanted some time for just us 2. So couldn't complain bout that. So went to bed just after 10... so wasn't to bad!
It has been pretty quiet in here, but understandable with bubs and also some of us already have other kiddies!
I don't know anyone affected by the fires, but the town of Marysville was the first ever town I lived in, so the first ever house I lived in is no longer standing, would of been about 146years old. Also the hotel where my dad worked is no longer standing :(
Both my sisters are up north but been ok with the floods. Its amazing that we have one extreme up one end of Australia and the other down south! The rain needs to go to Victoria!
-
Glad to hear Harley was a good boy today Deb. Wow on Charlotte being a size 3...Chelsea is in a 2. But she is short and far to skinny....size 2 are sometimes to big on her....she shares her clothes with Jasmine LOL....oh a Big W sale....always on when we have no money!
We are not doing anything for V day Steph, but hard with 3 kids to go out. We might watch a movie or something when the girls go to bed..and then have a quite one in bed once Zach has had his last feed ;)
Fires were close to me...3 min drive away in fact...the street the girls FDC carer lives on, the houses burnt down...so she was lucky hers is still standing, but smells so bad of smoke.
Argh...Chelsea is now on antibiotics for her burns...plus antibiotic cream....and im back to the drs again for the next 2 days....i have been everyday now since Friday last week :(
-
Hi Ladies,
Just popping in quickly - my poor little man has had a cold. It's so heartbreaking seeing him sneezing and coughing and snuffling! Needless to say he has been really unsettled and no one is getting much sleep around here. He seems a little better today thankfully. It's my dads 60th party tomorrow night and I am looking forward to showing Harrison off to everyone, so hopefully he is feeling better.
Kim, I hope Chelsea is better real soon!
Deb, Hopefully Harley is a little more settled for you today.
Hello everyone else, hope you are all busy enjoying your bubbas :grouphug:
-
Hi girls,
I had a wonderful day yesterday. Steph and Larissa came and visited us and we spent the day just hanging out chatting and relaxing. I took some photos of the kids together. Larissa is such a good baby and so beautiful, and Steph is so smitten with her its lovely to watch. Thanks again Steph for all those clothes and the high chair. It will be fun going through it all.
On another note I think JD may be starting to improve with the Zantac. The last couple of days he hasn't taken the usual time to settle (the screaming and crying seems to be lessening). I just pray that we have found the solution for his Reflux. I am starting to enjoy him now. I dont know if we will ever bath him again cause he loves the shower so much. DH had another one with him last night and he was so relaxed. It was lovely watching them bond.
Anyway, have a lovely weekend every one.
-
I'm glad he was good for you last night! Larissa slept wonderfully, I think having a busy day wore her out! Don't worry about the clothes and stuff, its better than somebody makes use of them than just having them stuck in the garage for ever! Can't wait for you to put your pictures on facebook... If I'd thought about it I'd have bought my camera!
I think tomorrow we'll pop down to a big W and spend some money :) Hurrah!
It's a shame the weather is awful today, we went to have lunch on the beach and it was ruined!
-
Hey chicks, just a quick one.
For colds, you can use the Fess little noses, and put the saline up their nose and suck out the boogers that way. They don't like it, but it helps them breath and then you all get some sleep.
Judd seems to have lot's of boogers and I use this on him and he doesn't have a cold!
I'm using Zantac too now Amanda. Seems to be helping him quite a bit, although I don't want to jinx it. Saw Dr for our 6 week check (a bit early) and told her about his screaming, and she said to try Zantac and if it is silent reflux, then it'll work and give it a good week. That was Thursday and he was sooo good today! Has started to take more in his bottles, goes longer between them and actually goes to sleep in his cot without much settling and stays there for a couple of hours! Oh, and he is going about 5 hrs at night between his last and first bottles!!!!
Yay, hope it's not a fluke and he keeps this up. He's also more happy to lay on the floor and play without crying and needing to be held upright. Fingers crossed :crossfingers:
Had my next lot of bloods today for thyroid & iron levels. Getting my carpal tunnel test done next Weds to see if that's what i have and if so, how bad it is. Will know the results next week. More worried about my hands than my Thyroid at this stage.
Hope you all had a good valentines day. My DH did some shelves in the laundry for me, I also got a new handbag and some :inlove:!! Got all 3 kids to have a sleep at the same time so we took the opportunity
Enough of that, take care and keep smiling.
-
My inlaws bought DH and I dinner last night, so we could have a night out. So they baby sat and we got dressed up and went to the local Golf Club for dinner. We really didn't feel like going but once we got there had a drink we really enjoyed it. In fact we had 2 drinks each and chatted for ages. We took the long way home and chatted some more, just like we used to. Then we came home and had some lovin and just relaxed for about an hour before DH went to pick up JD. It was nice being able to just relax in the lounge watching TV knowing you didn't have to get up for the baby. Although we did miss him so was happy when he came home and had a fed and he was so cute he feel asleep in DH arms grunting and groaning. Shame he woke up at 3am for another feed and then again at 5am. But at 5am he was just uncovered cause he wriggles and fidgets so much that he got his sheet and blanket off and his wrap off his feet so I think he got cold. I wrapped him back up again and then gave him his dummy and he is still asleep now. I will see what he is like at 8am. I think we will have to re-think his clothing for bed time, especially now that its cold again!
P.S. Does anyone else have a wriggling, fidgety, grunting, groaning baby when they sleep?
-
Hi Everyone,
Amanda - your night out sounded so great. Good on you both for getting out. I bet it felt strange at first being without your little one, but its so important that mum & dad still have their own time IMO. I'm so pleased that things are improving for you with JD.
Tash - we did use the Fess stuff and OMG that booger sucker is soooo gross LOL, but it did the trick. Sounds like you had a nice V day too.
Steph - sorry your beach day was ruined - hopefully some shopping today made it all better for you :D it's so much fun shopping for the little ones isn't it.
AFM - Well our V day was my best one ever. DP is now DF!!! He proposed to me yesterday morning and it was just so beautiful - such a shock too - i had no idea!! He gave me a gorgeous diamond ring which is just perfect. I am so lucky!!! :D:D:D
-
Congrats Victoria....thats awesome news :happyforyou:
-
Awww Victoria thats such wonderful news!!! So happy for u both :) :happyforyou:
Will be back later to let u know how Im going, bub about to wake! Hope u are all well!
-
AWWW - just wanted to congratulate Victoria on your engagement :loveshower: - that is wonderful news!!!
sorry ladies - I am around lurking but not got a lot to say and so busy. great to hear you are all doing well except for the odd exception from time to time. we are well - april is now 5.3 kgs and going strong with bfing. still waking up once to feed her over night. paed was happy with her last week and i have ob appt on tues which i expect will be fine. my 2yr old is the one that keeps me on my toes at the moment - i keep reminding myself about "patient parenting" but it is hard.
love to you all :grouphug:
-
congratulations Victoria! now you have to start practicing your new signature if you decide to take DF surname. Wow what a wonderful day for you both!
-
Well my mothers group starts today. I am both nerves and excited. I have not gone anywhere with JD on my own before. In fact we have hardly taken him anywhere other than the in laws because of his troubles with settling. But I have been assured that the child care workers that look after the babies while we do our training are very well trained and experienced. So will have to wait and see how it goes. The course goes for 6 weeks so it will bring us up to JD being 12 weeks old which I have been told that refluxy babies tend to improve at this stage. So at least that will help the time go by. Anyway I will check in and let you know how it went when I get back.
-
Congratulations Victoria..thats just lovely news!!!
PLC glad little April is going so well. It is hard balancing another demanding child with a baby..bet you are doing a wonderful job!
Amanda hope your mums group goes well. Sounds interesting..
Hello everyone else.
Weve been plodding along nicely here. Spent the arvo at the beach last night. Ruby was quite enthralled with the seagulls lol. Shes smiling all of the time now, its just lovely and has started her little cooing sounds. Those first attempts at communication just make my heart brim over..its precious. We have a paed appt this week to check her hip, which im hoping is fine and I need to make a dr appt for our 6 week check up. Gosh these 6 weeks have flown yet at the same time, she seems like shes been with us for a lot longer...weird hey

The midwife we have said to get rid of bogies, put a drop of water into each nostril then cover one at a time to make them come out. We didnt do this but when we bathed her once some water went up her nose and then when i was feeding her she sounded really mucousy so i just covered one nostril and loads of bogies shot out onto my leg... So I'd say that works!!
-
Lol sounds like great advice then!

I had a great time at Mother Group yesterday. It was actually quiet hard just leaving JD there with a stranger to look after him. We all went into another room but could hear the babies cry. I could hear JD cry nearly all the time. The child care workers could settle all the other babies but JD was the only one they couldn't settle so they came in and asked for me. Thank God I bought his sling with me as soon as I put that on her he settled within minutes. I honestly cant live without that sling now and much to DH disgrace he has even had to resort to it also.
We talked about life before our babies and then we talked about our pregnancy and birth experience. There were 5 women who broke into tears. One lady had such a hard pregnancy it was heart breaking, it actually started to make me feel more normal actually. I know that sounds weird, but actually seeing other women get emotional about their experience was reassuring to me. After group I decided to go for a walk with JD as he was sound asleep at this stage. I got a hot chockie at Gloria Jeans and went to Target and bought him some wondersuits and some other nice things. I even hired a couple of DVD's and when I got back home I was able to watch one all the way through as JD was still sound asleep.
Anyway, unfortunatley JD was naughty last night and would not settle for hours. I am pretty sure he had wind and was very over tired. But eventually he settled for DH in his sling. I was at my witts end as I was watching DH loose his patience. I could see JD was driving him crazy and I wanted to help but DH was determined to do it himself. I dont know if I was more distressed that JD was crying or that DH was upset. I ended up going outside and waiting for the crying to stop before coming back in. It was a big day for JD and I and I think we were both just over tired.
Anyway today I have my 6 week check up and I am looking forward to getting the all clear so I can go back to the gym.

Another mum who had a night from hell!
From 8pm on wards Zach just wouldnt settle. First time ever for him so it was horrid. He kept crying and wingeing. Around 930 he nodded off and i was able to do a quick kitchen clean and get a drink before he woke again and started crying. By 1030 id had enough and gave him his last feed thinking he would settle...but nope...so i put him into bed and he eventually dropped off by 1130. Never woke til 7am!
I feel for any mums in here that have a baby thats hard to settle....im glad mine was one off occassions cos it seriously done my head in!
We have our 4 week check up today.....only had one last week, but im eager to know how much he has gained in a week...considering he loves his milk, im sure it will be a nice gain!
Getting ready to leave for NSW Thursday night....im so not looking forward to the 12+ hour drive with 3 kids.
Off to Target (sale on kids clothes, no dep. layby) and Big W for their sale too today. Also need to find a cheap pram to take away and leave at mums. I can see its a big spending day ahead.
Paula, April sounds like she is going really well
Good luck today Amanda. Im glad MG was a good experiance for you too.
Boogers here come out with bath/shower time...ive never been a fan of them booger suckers....LOL
Take care ladies :)
-
Hey girls
Well Harley wasn't unsettled last night, but just decided to wake every 2 - 2.5 hours for a feed!!! He had one at 8pm, thought he would sleep thru, but woke up at 11pm, then had him up at 2 but was making noise at 1.30, I just made him get to 2am, then at 4am, and then at 6.30am... Was crazy! Just glad he settled after each feed. I hope this is a once off thing for him!
He did have a big sleep during the day and maybe he just did a swap, had his usual night pattern during the day and his day pattern at night! Lil bugger!! He is asleep atm and have managed to get my brekky and do a few things on here!
We are also going away this weekend, although will be back Sunday, leave first thing Friday morning, our first camping trip as a family! Should be fun!
I think I'm starting to get some smiles, cos I talk away to him and he will smile and I'm sure its not wind anymore! Can't wait for the coos hehe
Amanda: So glad u had a good time at your Mothers Group but not so good that JD didn't settle well for ur DH...sounds like he was very overtired!
Kim: Hopefully Zach doesn't do that to u again! Hope ur trip goes well to, and that all kiddies behave for u!
Paula: April sounds so cute! I know what its like having the 2 year old! I dunno who keeps me on my toes more!
Jo: Sounds so good u guys going to the beach, and how cute about Ruby and the seagulls! Can't wait to take Harley to the beach!
Big hellos to everyone else, hope u are all well with ur beautiful bubbas! Hope u aren't to tired either!
Take care!
Deb :)

Hey guys, long time no type from me ;)
I have been reading both buddy threads in bits over the weeks, but its too much for me to keep up. So I know some of what been going on for you guys.
Congratulations Lilcosmo
, thats really beautiful! What a special start of 2009 you`ve had.
All well for me, very exhausted but otherwise happy and good. Im finding it easier this time round even though baby is not as easy as I remember his big bruva being. I suppose not having had a c.section this time and being more experienced, I am alot more confident and feel so much more capable. We have had lots of relux and settling problems, but sorting them out now. Its great that I know from DS1 that whatever stage they are going thru, it doesnt last. So I am not fretting about his tummy being sore etc, cause I know it will come right and a few mths from now it`ll be other things that we are dealing with. Just as you figure them out, they go a do something new. Boy - its alot of work isnt it?!
Hope your all doing well, I know some of you have been really struggling, but chins up. Its not going to stay like this forever. And your doing great jobs - I have confidence in all of you as mums.
-
Thanks so much for all the congrats! I am so thrilled!!
Jo - hope all is well with your paed visit. We are aslo getting lots of smiles now - it's just so adorable isn't it.
Amanda - glad your MG went well. They can be such a great support.
Kim & Deb - hope your boys give you a better nights sleep tonight.
Paula & Salsa - good to hear things are going well for you both.
Well Harrison is a smiling machine now hehehe! It just melts me everytime (not to mention the grandparents!!) He is also now sleeping 5 hours straight at night so I am starting to feel a little normal again, although I think I have caught his cold!
-
OMG....my 'little' Zachy isnt so little....he is now 4.6kg.....gained 230grams in a week!!!
-
Boogers - that's an interesting thing to put the water up there. I've had to fess Judd 3 times yesterday and again this morning. He's really got a bit of a cold coming on. He had a temp of 37 last night, so gave him some panadol to stop it getting any higher and he's been fine ever since. He's getting stuffed up again, but it seems to be clearing better than the other day.
On the comment on un-settled bubs, I?ve had 3, so you do get used to it. You also get used to diagnosing it too. But after the really bad night he had the other week, that?s when I took him to the Dr and got him onto Zymal. He still has unsettled moments, but still seems better than before.
He has very green poo?s though, what?s with that? Is that just a bit old/constipated still??
Geez Zach's growing! Judd's next weigh in is next Thurs. Can't wait to see how much he's put on, he's finally getting chubby legs!
