Hi ladies - I know my bub was born on 27 December but as you have all been my belly buddies I would dearly love to keep in touch with you all. Just waiting for some mummies and babies to join me once you're ready. All well here with April - a calm baby that makes 2nd time around a lot easier. Even DS has taken to her better than expected - just only have to deal with the usual rants of a 2 1/2 yr old. But all is well in general...so far so good.
Harrison and I are going wonderfully well. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! He is sleeping in mine and DP's bed at the moment - seems to be the only way we all get some sleep. I never thought I would co-sleep, but I must admit, I am enjoying it. He is feeding really well and seems to be such a calm baby. DP is totally smitten too, he is an amazing daddy!
So far so good.
I am looking forward to posting my birth story at some stage - will be interesting to put it down in words!!
I hope everyone is going well with their new bundles. Kim & Deb - look forward to seeing you both in here soon!! I will try and post again soon, I'm sure once everyone is settled this thread will pick up the pace!
I'm the same with Larissa, I've been quite restrained and put her to sleep in her cot for most of the night and then bought her into our bed in the morning, I love sleeping next to her and she seems to like it too! I've managed to be the only person to get covered in sick wee and poo so I will take it as a sign she really likes me. Shes a fantastic sleeper, only had to get up once to feed her last night and shes back to her birth weight now too! I must go look at her now to make sure she's still real!
Ohhh girls I can't wait to join u!! So happy for u all, and just love all your lil babies, they are all soooo beautiful and u all have done just sooo well!!!
Kim and I will be here in no time at all!! I have my midwife appt in an hour for a s&s and really hope it works!!
Ryley and I are doing well and I love him too bits. I was breast feeding for 6 days until my milk came in and ah no could no longer do it so I am expressing BM and formula and we are so much happier. All he does is sleep after a feed I don't know if that is good or bad? Lol.
Steph I am the same with Ryley I just want to stare at him all day
Oh look we are all starting to drop in now...hope everyones bubbys are doing well.
Kirsten sorry that has happened for you, but glad you have found formula to be working for you both now. They certainly do alot of sleeping !!!!
Weve had a fun couple of days. Yesterday we went down south so princess Ruby went with us to a reptile park..slept through it in the sling but was her first outing (other than the shops) all the same. Today we went shopping and went to the movies...she sleeps so well in her sling!
Deb and Kim you poor chookies...at least you know these babies have gotta be coming out soon!Labour vibes sent to youxxxx
Well am about to order some pizza for dinner so best go...heres to a good nights sleep for eveyone preggers or mummys of newborns!!!
hey ladies - great to see you all slowly coming in!!!
I have been bfing - better supply this time than with DS - but had a lactation consultant come today to discuss April's lazy feeding. She tends to sleep a lot at the breast. This is mainly due to the jaundice she still has a bit of. I have been expressing too. Basically while the LC was here, we tried bfing only and she settled beautifully. She said I had enough milk. No usual wind, discomfort, etc. Then wouldn't you know it, the next feed once the LC left, she acted right up again and instead of being asleep again within the hour, it took 2 and half hrs. I think she conked out then in sheer exhaustion. Looks like some interesting times ahead. Bfing is good and everything - but a lot of bl**dy hard work!! Especially this feeding every 2 hrs (sigh!). Still gotta give it a go if I can, I think.
Kirsten make the most of Riley sleeping after his feed - I sure hope it continues. April was sleeping a dream and now not so much. Formula is a great settler too - keeps them sleeping longer. Great to hear you're doing so well. Hope ur getting lots of support from ur family.
Jo - way to go with your Ruby. What a great little bub!! I have a sling too but have realised it is far too big - bub face is right near my tummy instead of my breast. Have to get that changed very quickly - hanging out to use the sling.
steph - loved your post, our bubs are true miracles that are so worth staring at.
lilcosmo - yeah, I'm loving napping with my bub too - best way to go in our bed!
Well I decided to not express anymore it was doing my head in and I just couldn't do it especially in the mornings so he is on Heinz Nurture formula and loves it only spew a couple of time and you should hear him burp. Lol. But I must say I am much happier and even my midwife noticed I look much better. She came today and weight him. On Tuesday he was 3540 grams and today he weight 3610 grams which is good and she discharge me from the hospital and the MCHN will come out next week..Also noticed that he isn't scratching his face as much anymore which I am happy about and he does get a little constipated but if he wakes in between feeds we give him water to help. Got a appointment with Centre Link next Thursday about payments and such..Now just waiting to hear about his Birth Certificate.
Looks like Deb and Kim can finally join us
Well I hope you all are well and your bubbas.
Kirsten
I was in the belly buddies due Jan 16th - 31st thread, but my little Belle came early so here we are
I am still very sore and tired after the birth ~ don't remember being this sore last time around. Life with two children is certainly more demanding than just one, but I am loving it and am totally in love with Belle.
Any suggestions on how to get bub's to sleep more at night and less during the day? She is breastfeeding every 2 hours during the night and not always settling between feeds, but during the day she is totally wiped out. We try to wake her up and keep her awake for a bit before she feeds, but she is comatised!!! HELP Oh and she hates being swaddled love's to have her arms above her head like a monkey ~ just like her big brother did.
