TASH my MCHN told me that the green poo is from mum (if your bf) eating too much sugar! Have you been enjoying a few lollies or choc? ;)
My boy is alot more settled now he is on Losec and we put him for a sleep on his tummy. I know its a no - no, but its what gets him to sleep. A few weeks ago it was crying and screaming for hours day and night. Now we only have a little bit of it (like yesterday, but we 3 days in row previous without it ). The heat dont help either, Ive had a few days were he only slept a bout 3 hrs all day and had to be held the rest of it!!!
-
I had to take JD to the GP yesterday as he has a rash all over his head. Its a bit like little pimples. He said its just hormonal and will go away on its own. Anyway, I was freaking out cause he was screaming his head off as I was walking in the medical center and everyone was looking at me and laughing at him cause he was so worked up. Thank god I bought a bottle with me as soon as I sat down I chucked it in his mouth and he shut up. I was so worried that he would start up again but thank God he feel sound asleep just as he was finishing it. He woke up a a bit as we were leaving but feel asleep again in the car so I thought I am going for a drive while he is quiet. it was nice to get out of the house.
I am going to try and have a quiet one with him today and hopefully I might get a nap in myself as I feel so tired.
Because I am not BF anymore I am going back on the combined pill. I will be happy then cause I am concerned about falling pregnant again since I am not BF. I even thought I had period pain the other day which was weird, but I guess it could happen anytime now, can't it?
Anyway have a lovely day ladies.

Ruby has the same hormonal rash Amanda...ive noticed at 6 weeks with every baby and it always clears on its own. Glad you could get out driving on your own.
Its gotten quiet in here again!
We had an ultrasound on Ruby's hips today, as Paed detected a click but shes been given the all clear which is good. Darren had his day off today so we all went to the movies and the boys got their hair cut. Ive sorted out my uni enrolment for next week...arrghh actually have to start thinking again! Im so lucky though that Darren will be home for every Wednesday while im there..i wouldnt leave Ruby if that wasnt the case. As it is I will be so nervous leaving her despite how wonderful Darren is and how I know she can take a bottle with ebm..its still not the same, but I need to finish this degree!!!
We have a massive pile of kids over today..currently a few in the pool now. The big girls all have friends staying over tonight so im hiding out in the study for a moments peace!
Jo
-
Jo - I dont know how you do it!!! Studying was an idea I had too for when kids are at home but I think I'm dreaming. I hope you can manage to get your degree done asap. What are you studying if you dont mind me asking?
Puppies - April has the rash too but it is fading although it tends to come and go. Glad you had some peace driving in the car. I know the feeling - especially when my DS (who struggles to sleep during the day these days) falls asleep in the car too - oh bliss!!! I turn off the nursery rhyme CD and put on my favourite radio station and pretend I am young, free and single (hehe) reminiscing the music of my youth.
tash - sorry to hear Judd is poorly. Look after yourself too hun.
salsa - glad ur lil man is more settled - you must be exhausted!!
kim & deb - yeah, all good - despite a horrible day with DS yesterday where was at my wits end. Lord, these terrible 2's are hard!!!
kim - love the name change hun!
hello everyone else - big hugs!!!
btw - didnt even realise til I logged on now that I hadn't even got onto BB yesterday - i tell you it was not a normal day yesterday :(
-
LOL Plc..its nice pretending to be young again! Am doing a bach of social work..am in my final year thankfully. We used to be foster carers so wanted to jump onto the other side so to speak and be more proactive that way.
Jess and Em have caught a bus and gone shopping with their friends so its just the little three here now...a little quieter. We are heading out for a friends birthday this arvo..so hot hot hot here.
Hope you are all keeping well

Hey all,
Salsa - I'm not breastfeeding, so it can't be too much sugar. Prob the Zantac or Coloxyl, as it's only been green since I started the Zantac. Sleep him on his tummy if it helps. My SIL had the same issue with her second one. Once she put her on her tummy, no more sleeping probs. Just keep an eye on them during the day, and try and put on the back at night and see how you go.
Judd's had rashes too, but mostly from the heat. Amanda, when you're a first time mum, you do worry about all of these things. I'm glad I'm over that. I was lucky too, as my SIL and I had Patrick and Elli at the same time, so I would call her and ask her about these things before going to the Dr, but still took off at the drop of a hat for things I thought was wrong. You'll get there. How are you going on your meds, are they ok for you?
Well had a bad day on Thurs with Judd unsettled (feeding frenzy all day due to growth spurt) and Riley screaming all day due to lack of sleep and teething. I called DH to come home as it was just too hard to deal with both. He took Riley out in the Kia for a drive at 8:30pm (he'd been screaming most of the day) and when they were out, the transmission died!!! The car is only 7 years old and has done around 65,000 k's, so we're a bit upset about it. Won't know the $$ damage until Mon at the earliest.
Other than that, things are going well.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

I have had a busy weekend. Yesterday we had to take JD over to the inlaws to meet an old Aunty who is turning 80. She is Aunty to FIL. That was nice but JD was having trouble settling. He wanted to go to sleep but just couldn't nod off and he was getting frustrated. In the end I had t settle him in the sling and keep him in it till we went home, man this kid is getting heavy, my should was about to drop off by the time we left, but at least he wasn't crying.
This afternoon I had 4 of my girlfriends pop over to meet JD. He was the same again. He wanted to go to sleep but just couldn't nod off properly and he was in the sling on me again. I have to say that the sling took a bit of getting used to but now I can't live without it! Don't know what I will do when he gets bigger!
And tonight I have the inlaws over for dinner, man what I would give for a quiet night tonight. Ahh well its nice having the company anyway. On an exciting note though I got on my bike this afternoon after my friends left and went for a short ride. It felt great to back on. I was worried that I might have forgotten how to ride but it came back to me pretty quick. I look forward to doing that again soon. Funny thing was I can't stop thinking about JD, no matter what I am doing he is constantly on my mind, not in a bad way just consumed by him thats all. I love him so much.
I have mothers group again tomorrow. I really pray that JD is better than he was last week. But I am looking forward to it. Anyway better get to bump he is crying.
-
Hi girls, well it was a bit of a rough night. I think DH was up at about 1ish with JD and I got up at about 2.30am to him wanting his dummy in. I went back to bed only to get up again at 3ish to put it in again. I tried sleeping on the lounge so I wouldn't disturb DH, but couldn't nod back off, plus I could hear JD squirming and groaning. Eventually I fed him at 4am and he is back sound asleep. As for me there is no way I can get back to sleep now, so I washed up from dinner, made DH lunch, washed and made more bottles for JD and am now about to finish my cornflakes. After that I will jump in the shower while I have a chance and get ready for Mothers Group and then just flake out on the lounge until my little monster wakes again. Oh I can tell its going to be a long and tiring day.
How do you know if they are going through a growth spurt? Is it more frequent feeds, more unsettled periods etc? And is there such a thing as growing pains? I remember my mum used to say that to us when we were little.
-
Hi Ladies,
I think the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me! It is getting harder and harder to get out of bed at night. DS has gone back to feeding every 3hrs at night and last night I let him cry for probably 5 minutes before I got up to him (not a hysterical cry, just a grizzley cry) - I'm just exhausted!! DH got up with him this morning and kept him amused for a couple of hours so I could sleep in. How on earth do you cope with a newborn and a toddler???!!!
DS is so perfect in everyway, I just wish he would start stretching his sleep out some more - Are there any tricks to it??
Sorry for the me post - just so tired! I hope everyone is doing well :grouphug:
-
Hey girls
Well we got back from our camping trip yesterday, both kids were really good! Harley was very easy to take, Charlotte needed to listen a bit more but just being the normal 2 year old hehe.
Had Harleys 6 week check up and he is now 4.7kg, 54cm and 38.5 head. So very happy with how he is growing! The health nurse couldn't stop saying how cute and alert he is and how strong he is for his age, try to stand on his legs already! Most ppl say how strong he is. Also very good on his tummy!
I was lucky last night, he fed at 10.30, didn't wake till 2.30 and then woke up at 4.30 but only had about 40ml, then woke at 6.40, if it wasn't for waking at 4.30 would of had a perfect night, but not complaining with that!
Im not sure how u can get them to stretch out their sleep, Harley has had a bit extra to drink and has seemed to make him sleep a bit longer, but not all the way thru yet!
How did mothers group go Amanda? Hope JD sleeps better tonight, its a bugger having the dummy, Harley hasn't needed his to settle, seems to do that pretty well, tries to find his thumb but not done it yet!
Victoria: I dunno how I do it with 2 of them, especially a toddler, especially when she throws a carton of eggs on the kitchen floor!! But I wouldn't change it for the world!
Big hellos to everyone else, hope u are all well! Hope ur bubs are treating u well too :)
Take care!
Deb :)
-
Arggggggggggggggggghhh Im home.....travellign interstate with 2 toddlers and a NB is NOT fun.
That is all.....
Hey Deb....look under your user name ;)
-
Hey Kim!
Oh sounds like u didn't have fun at all travelling...must say even though it was only a couple of hours, my 2 were really good, only had Harley wake up when we were getting close to the campsite then home!
I noticed that under my username... How did it get there??? I'm thinking its a good thing
-
Kim - what a job that must of been!! I hope you get a chance to put your feet up today.
Deb - Sounds like Harley is doing so well. Well done! OMG about Charlotte and the eggs - did you laugh or cry??
Well DF decided he would get up for DS last night and let me get a decent nights sleep. I expressed enough milk for two feeds and went to bed sooo happy knowing I didn't have to get up until morning. Well DS decided to sleep for 6 hours straight . DF looked at me with a cheeky grin in the morning and said "i don't know what all the fuss is about - I got plenty of sleep!"
-
Well I ended up in tears on the phone to the health nurse as she rang right when I found the mess...she was so good though, made me feel a bit better, then Rob called...I can see the funny side now, but never wanna see that again lol!!!
Seems Harley has dropped a feed, good though cos he was having like 8 bottles a day, but only smaller amounts, is now drinking 150ml most feeds so seems to be better! Will be 4 hours since his last bottle in 5 mins!! So happy with that!
-
Hi girls remember me  Sorry I haven't been on I kinda forgotten until now  But I am back again :D
Well Ryley and I are well. He has been sleeping from 10pm until 3am the last few nigths which is good I hope he stretches it out a bit more but I ain't pushing it and he is getting so heavy too and I been getting lots of smiles and little laughs as well...MCHN also said he is a very strong boy for his age and he grabs on things really hard as well and the bottle..Had our 6 week check up and Ryley is good except for a small detail which I am too embarressed to say and me well the doc was concern about my post natal bleeding because I had no breaks and I had a ultrasound and all is good thank god..And the lack of sleep ah it kills but its all part of the package..
Kim-glad to hear you survive the trip somewhat..Your very brave..And love the name change..
Deb-glad the camping trip went well..And also love your name change..
Puppies-Ryley had a little rash and those little pimples too and they have seem to gone away I didn't like either and he had a horrible heat rash when it was really hot weather and it went away in a few days..With growth spurths Ryley fed up to every 2 hours and sometimes had 200mls :O No wonder he is so heavy..
Hello to everyone else and hope you are all well..
Kirsten
-
WB Kirsten!!
Dont be embarrassed if Ryley has any issues....we are here for you regardless. lad your u/s went well :)
-
Thanks Kim..Well okay at birth he had both his ah testicles and at all the checks from the midwives and MCHN and the 6 week check up the doctor could only find one :O I know its not major but I am a little concern and she said the other one could descend down..Poor little guy..I hope its there when I have him check at the 2 month appointment. I am getting his needles done on the 10th March and he be 8 weeks and 4 days..
-
-
-
Hmm.....so Kirsten its only the 6 week check up that this issue has come up...but have been there every other time? Ive not heard of them going back up once they have dropped (but as a mum of 2 girls and only new to boys im not sure at all). Im sure Ryley will be ok. If its not there at 2 month check, did the Dr say what will happen...maybe it will just come down in its own time.....im not sure there would be any problems down the track if it didnt??
Eeeekkk needles...im dreading them already....*calls to Craig*...he takes the kids not me!
Im meant to have my 6 week check up this week..but im sooo scared to go cos i know its pap time and they freak me out..but i should go..i have a huge list of issues i need to bring up :(
-
 Kim..I got my pap on Thursday and I am not going to like it..I hope it drops too..And it was there all the times he been check as no one said anything to me about it. No she didn't say nothing so I hope his next appointment they will find it. So I hope mums who had boys can enlighten me..Good luck at your appointments..
I posted the reply 3 times as the site went funny. Lol.
-
Can you feel both testicles? I know i can for Zach....my MCHN showed me how to feel them (why i have no idea..LOL).
All the best for your pap on Thursday......horrid things...but i guess they are done for a good reason!
Yeh the site went funny on me before too and i thought i was going to have lots of posts get submitted like you did
-
Mmm..I have to have a look when I change him next..I might ask the MCHN to show me next time I see her. That reminds me I have to check the blue book for the next appointment I somehow forgotten. Lol. Yes they are and the good thing I don't have to have another for 2 years :D
I am just waiting for Ryley last feed and the poor little thing hasn't done a poo all day since yesterday and I gave him water and that usually helps and he has only been napping all day so fingers cross he might sleep after his last feed..
-
I so didn't know that I was going to have a pap test at my 6 week check up. You know that was the first and only time that my Obs had a look down there. Ah well at least I wasn't stressing about it before hand cause I didn't know.
Oh it looks like JD finally slept through the night. I am pretty sure DH fed him right on midnight and he is still asleep now, although I can hear him grizzle every now and then. I am going to get him up at 7am for his fed. Its funny though, I kept looking at the monitor and the clock thinking wow I wonder if this thing is working or not. Gosh I am so happy about that. Even if its only a once a week thing I am happy that he is learning. He has been hard to settle this last couple of days though. But once he is asleep he is out to it for a good few hours. My mum and I sat out on the grass and drank a glass of wine yesterday afternoon while he slept in the pram with us. It was nice to have some fresh air.
-
Hi ladies
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Amanda great JD is getting easier for you to settle.
Hope your appt goes well today Kirsten.
Hi Kim...piccies look great on facebook
Hello everyone else.
Well back at uni yesterday and it went so well. Darren had such a lovely day with Sammy and Ruby. I left two bottles of expressed milk and was able to come home at lunchtime. She was just a dream and it was so lovely to see Darren do so well! He thoroughly enjoyed it...makes it so much easier to relax and concentrate on studying knowing that darling Ruby is perfectly content. Ive never been away from my babies this young ever!
Ruby is doing lots of smiles now. Sammy Ruby and I have a bath together every night and she just adores it. She kicks her legs and as soon as I put her on her tummy she starts kicking wildly, then being tired out will often snuggle in, feed and start to doze (in the bath!) funny girl. Her hair is growing so much! Everyone comments on how much hair she has! Its so sweet to be able to put the little bows in it!
Well enough about me..we are off to go shopping. Hope its a lovely day for you all
Jo
-
Man i cant believe Zach is now 6 weeks old....time really needs to slow down! He is doing smiles now and then, but not to often.
How cute that you can put bows in ruby's hair Jo. I cant even do much with Jasmines hair yet and she is 16 months old now! Thanks for looking at the kids pics on FB :)
Amanda JD sounds like he is going great guns. Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to catching up with Tash and her gorgeous boys tomorrow!
Not much to report here...ment to have my 6 week check up today..but meh...can wait til im ready.
QU: What size clothes is bubs wearing now?
Zach goes between 0000 and 000 depending on what it is. 2 piece outfits are 0000 and still swim on him...and some 1 piece 0000 are still big.....but others in 000 fit nicely although a bit big as well.
-
I took JD for a walk this morning and bumped into a friend that I have made down the road. She has a 9mth old boy. Anyway JD woke up and I took him out of the pram and just let him sit on my knee and he loved it. He started smiling and laughing at me and my friend as we were talking. It was wonderful! It made me feel all warm and fuzzy, it was great to see him happy. I am really starting to enjoy being a mum now and hope we get more interaction with him from now on. Certainly helps when he is crying and difficult. You can just think of the nice moments and know that all is ok.
He is the same Kim, some 0000 are too small now and some are took loose. I did have to put him in 00 wondersuits cause they were too short for his long legs, but they were perfect for his arms. I would like to go shopping and buy him some more nice outfits soon actually. I have been given so many lovely clothes but most of them he will have to grow into so he has not got a lot that fits him right now. Now that he is beginning to settle a lot easier I would like to attempt to take him shopping, will see how he goes next week.
-
Are we suppose to get a pap smear done?
DS has grown so big! He is 5500g, wearing 000 (3-6mth). Some of those I wonder how long he will be in them for?
-
Salsa not everyone needs to have a pap done...i need one as im over due for mine. Was ment to be May last year but the hospital said to wait til after bub was born to get it done.
I find it so sad that Zach has so many gorgeous clothes he will never wear...or wear limited times. Simply because of the weather changes and him growing so fast. I even put him to bed wearing good clothes just so i know he has worn them..LOL
-
I had a smear done the month that I concieved...so I guess perhaps I dont need one for a while?
Oh, I think you should sleep him in his good clothes - I have had a few times where I put the nice stuff aside (saving it for what ??) and then think I should dress him in it cause tomorrow it might not fit anymore.
With all the hot weather he did not get to wear some of his newborn things :(
-
Paps are due every 2 years....so more then likely Salsa you will need to get one done next year.
Dress your little man in good clothes.....why not...get some wear out of them....no one will see them, but who cares. I also have a habit of taking a picture in every outfit he wears...so if its one he hasnt worn before *snap* picture taken...i know..im a dag! LOL
-
Awww Kim I try to do the same getting pics of Harley in new outfits...but been a bit slack lately
Thats cute that u dress him in good stuff, and I must say from ur pics on FB they are beautiful clothes!!
Harley is pretty much in 000 but still fits some 0000 especially if they are top and pants, but body suits not so much only cos of his length but!
Was sad putting away his 0000 the other night, and really makes me want one more... not now of course but sometime in the next couple of years...call me crazy but I know some of u mums on here have coped with 3 or more! But of course still have to talk to Rob about it... I know he isn't keen, but maybe we can sort something out...any of u girls who have had more then one whos hubby/partner didn't want anymore? My dad always said to mum only 2 and they ended up with 4 of us hehe!!
I managed to get Harley to sleep 6 hours last night, 9.30 till 2.30!! Then woke just before 6 :) so very happy, hope he keeps it up
-
Deb we are undecided. I have liked the idea of 3 for quite a long time and never have wanted to have just 2, but I cannot decide right now. I read on another thread (about why did u stop at 2?) someone suggested you wait till your youngest is 12mths till you decide if you wanna go again.
I dunno, DH is same as me. He sort of does, sort of dosent. If we had another I thought I`d like that within the next 2 years, but tbh, I think it would have to be the 2nd half or next year, I dont know how I would cope with a 3rd while #2 is still a baby. I  those of you who have and do and will... :D
-
Good im glad im not the only crazy one that does the pic taking Deb...LOL
Any more kids for us.....i wish.....Craig said no while i was pregnant....now he says yes....was in 6 months...now he says 2-3 years time....so who knows...might happen..might not :(
-
You girls are so brave wanting to have more kids. I am so happy with just the one. I know that I can confidently say that I can look after my husband well if I only have one child to take care of. If I had more I would be afraid that I may neglect my husband and DH is very affectionate and would not handle the lack of attention. As it is we are probably on DTD once a week now. Just because I am so tired by the time he comes home and we have put them baby to bed and had dinner and a sit down. We used to do it more in the morning but because we wake up at different times and sleep is so precious that has gone out the window. I worry though that he may not be satisfied. So I will try and make more effort.
On another note I am so worried about this rash on JD, its very dry and little sores seem to be appearing. It looks like excma (sp?). I can imagine it would be quiet painful or uncomfortable. I have changed his bath soap tonight and will see how hat goes. I also rub sorbaline (sp?) on him to try and sooth the dryness. This is probably the reason he is struggling to fall asleep sometimes. I know I suffer from dry skin and its terrible and can get sore if its not got moisturiser on it. I wonder if I should take him to see a dermotoligist? Has the rash that some of your babies have seem like this also?
-
Amanda from what you have said it sounds like the usual rash/pimples babies get around 5-7 weeks of age. It generaly goes within a few weeks, but if your worried, get it checked out. It could be more then just that. Jasmine had terrible skin as a baby and still does on her arms and legs....but her face was terrible and always itchy. She has eczema and we use steriod cream on her at night.
Also try Natio cream...thats awesome for dry skin. With bath time, if JD's skin is more then just the age related pimple/dry skin, the best thing to use in the water is nothing.....soaps and additives will make his skin flare up more. Try some rolled oats even...that is pretty good. Else try Moo Goo cream (google it). For us i used to use Dermveen cream in the water, or theres Derm aid powder stuff you buy from the chemist. Its what the cildrens hospital on Melbourne use and recommend. It has no smell at all (ie wont make bub smell all pretty)....but when you first use it, will smell likes oats! HTH a bit :)
As for your DH...im sure he would tell you if he wasnt being satisifed...well if thats his nature. I know Craig definately lets me know..LOL
-
Hi ladies - all well here - April is going great guns - now 5.7 kgs! In between 000 and 00! As for a third, I'm keen, DH isn't. We will have a chat at around 6 mths and will be super careful before then. Not DTD that much - in fact, at all - a little sore from previous inactivity ;) Just need to get over being too tired too for all of that.....
-
Gosh - if only we could manage it (dtd) once a week! I dunno how time or energy is made!? We have virtualy no quiet time between the 2 of us right now and when we do its so late in the day we are both too exhausted. DH has told me he doesnt mind, its just a gap we having due to the obvious big event that happened 2 mths ago ;)
Might get more chance over the next month though, DS is starting to have the odd evening when he isnt cluster feeding non stop from 6 - 11pm! He did feed all evening last night but then he had his first slept right thru the night!
It is easier with one, but we love having 2. And the first one was an easy baby but harder cause it was all new and we had no experience. We were trying to be so careful no to damage our baby. We are much more take it as it comes this time.
-
Wow Paula, April is going great guns!
Caught up with Tash today..OMG Judd is a cutie. As per usual my girls turned feral, but least Zach behaved!
Im so tired today..i just want to sleep now....times like this i need a live in nanny :p
-
aww Kim thats so good that u guys can catch up! I wish some of u girls were closer... Would have so much fun!
Well after having a pretty good day with Harley yesterday, he didn't go so well today, he hasn't slept much, and his bottles went back to 2 - 3 hours... he is asleep at the moment and fingers crossed he is down for the night, maybe wake up around 9-10 for a bottle then give me a good 6 hours...do u think I'm asking to much hehehe :P
My eyes are sore and the screen is getting blury again... and I can't focus to well...thinking I'm gonna have my eyes tested again and prob have my glasses changed... fun fun!
Salsa: I never really have the energy to DTD but Rob just is so keen for it, he kinda gets me in the mood :P so we are back to the old days lol...somehow manage to get it in when the kids are asleep lol. I still really wanna go a 3rd time, but thinking I'll have my tubes tied if I do, as I know i'm pretty fertile and I think 3 would def be enough!!
Puppies: U may change ur mind in a couple of years about kids... but for now I'm sure u and hubby are very happy! I know u have gone thru a stressful month and a bit! Hopefully things are all good from now!
PLC: April sounds so healthy and cute!! Ur doing real well with her!!
Big hellos to everyone else and ur beautiful babies!! Can't believe how fast 6 weeks has gone, I knew it would once he was born... wish it would slow down as well! Although am looking forward to more smiles and can't wait for the giggles to start!!
Well I better go see wat my lil monster is up to! Harley is sound asleep! Yay!
Take care and have a great weekend!!
Deb :)
