Well things are going well this side of things, how is everybody?
I had yesterday & today off work so we had playgroup & then we hung around the house because MAtilda started getting sniffy, today we stayed around the house & went for a walk to check out some neighbours flowers and then into the city to pick up DH from work because the trains weren't going.... grrrrr....
Yeah, things are good here too, would be better if we stopped having these 40 degree days. It has been 40 or over all week and the other night it stayed at aournd 30 degrees all night. The girls had a swim today while they were at my friends house and are now really tired from all the swimming. Paige has been in bed since 7pm, but she didn't have her full arvo sleep today.
Yesterday was also a milestone for Paige, she said Dad for the first time. She doesn't have any other words yet, but can make the animal noises and stuff. I think Dh was secretly glowing inside because the other 2 said Dad first and mum second, but Paige said mum first. I actually don't know if I should be worried about her yet, but I compare her to the other two who both spoke really early.
Asha has jsut finished her first week of full time day care (not to mention me who has just finished her first week of full time work!!!) and she has coped really well. I have missed her the last 2 days as I am used to us being together on Thursday & Friday but I think we will do ok! She loves day care and the ladies who look after her think she is something pretty special. They tell me she talks more than some of the kids in the toddler room but that doesn't surprise me! She is speaking really clearly and is starting to put two words together and is like a little parrot and copies anything you say to her. She is always busy and loves to get into things she shouldnt but then again the other two have been the same! Tonight she got the super glue out of Ryan's draw and opened it  She almost had her hands stuck together but I found her in time to stop that from happening.
As I mentioned I am back at work full time ... I am very tired tonight so will keep this short and apologise or not doing personals. I will try and get back on the weekend to do those.
Cheers
Kelly, good to hear that Asha has settled into daycare. I think thats the biggest worry returning-to-work mums have.
Hiya girls
Been busy in here
Kelly that is fantastic that Asha enjoyed childcare, and i could only imagine how tired you are after a full week back to full time work
YAY to Paige for saying Dad. Sherie I think you emailed me your details for paige too but for the life of me I couldn't find them again LMAO but I remember seeing them. 8-[
Not much is going on in Lachlan world, cept he decided to stick his hand into a dirty nappy today and then wipe it on my leg  nothing like getting mum's attention while chatting to Aunty Christy ;) Usually it is Matlida up to no good.
I have him walking to and from Kindy twice a week too. Starting to get him road savvy, and he is doing pretty well with it although walking to kindy takes twice as long on those days and today on the way home from dropping Kam off he had to stop and watch a garbage truck go by  and he picks up white stones from someones driveway and puts them back into their garden where the white stones came from
Love
PMSL at Lachlan and the Poo Kathryn that is pay back for talking that's for sure. Gotta love him helping those peole with the stone removal LOL
Hope you girls are all well.
Kelly are you back at work FT now? Glad Asha is having fun at day care. What sort of care is she in?
Cheers michelle
Michelle ... have had to return to work to pay off some of these bills!!! Asha goes to a day care centre which is brand new (only been open since Oct last year!). She just loves it ... she gets so much interaction with all sorts of people. The scary part is that she went for her first visit to the toddlers this afternoon! I stomped my feet and said now it is too soon, she is still my baby (all in jest of course). She LOVED it! Only 4 more months and she will be there full time so lots more visits for her from now on.
Asha is going great guns and doesn't stop talking. She has however been attacked by mossies again and has huge welts all over! She got bitten on the ear and now has a swollen red ear. The girls at day care know about it but it looks so bad!!!
Work has been tiring ... let me explain! I am teaching a class of Kindy/ PrePrimary (3, 4 & 5 yr olds) I have one group of Kindys on Mon, Tues and a different group of kindys on Thurs, Fri. then Mon to Fri I have a group of PrePrimary kids. I have 3 children from Sudan, 1 from Sri Lanka, 1 from Afghanistan and 1 from China (all ESL students). I have a new boy starting on Thursday who is Autistic and I dont know much about him so hopefully I will get some more information tomorrow. I only have a small class but it is a lot of hard work, especially having all the ESL students ... the most I have ever had in one class!!! One of the boys form Sudan is a whirlwind ... has to push every button he can see and managed to get me locked out of the network today!!!
Kathryn ... so cute about Lachlan and the stones. Wish my two would do that with anything!!!!
Hi to everyone else ... I feel so bad about not posting often but things are a little hectic as you can imagine, once I get into the swng of things again I should be able to post more often.
Cheers
Better go my kids are suposed to be in bed asleep and I can hear them in the lounge still watching foxtel!!!
Kathryn - So funny about the poo!
Kelly - What an amazing job you have. You will probably learn as much from them as they will from you.
Paige has a pet Huntsman Spider. He has been in the house for about 3wks now (I don't mind them much) and he is now in the girls room at the top of the wall near Paiges bed (we have 12ft ceilings so I'm not worried). She talks (gibberish mind you!) to him every morning when she wakes up. It is really cute and through the day she will make you go in there so she can show you. Might have a tomboy on my hands...
Hi girls,
Can't do huge personals - still feeling pretty Cr@ppy with this M/S can't wait for it to buggar off! Plus have been pretty busy.
Shynelle is doing freat though, she's talking heaps and putting sentences together it's freaking me out but the girls from her day care said not to judge this new bub on her cause she's talking way ahead of her time like a 3 year old!
Better go got heaps to do.
Talk soon
xxdd
dd - know what you mean about comparing kids and their talking. Lindsay and Erin were early talkers and now I compare Paige to them all the time because she is slower to talk and worry that something is wrong with her.
LOL at Lachlan!! Kathryn last night Matilda came into the bathroom for her bath & pulled her nappy off, I have never jumped so quickly to make sure there was no poo there LOL
Matilda's an early talker as well...must be the girl thing. I have had friends say their 2 year olds are talking like her & I have to remind them not to compare because I'm sure if we have another they won't be the same LOL
Sherie, my niece didn't hardly say anything at all until after she was three and her mum thought she was slow or something and was ready to take her to see someome and all of a sudden out with the words she came. We reckon it was cause she didn't need to speak her older brother and sister did all the talking for her. We've since found out that's very normal with kids with older siblings so I wouldn't be worrying if I were you cause Roxy's 11 now and we call her the "OC" cause she's right up with all the gossip on her older brother and sis and she doesn't stop talkin' so I'm sure Paige will be fine you've got quite abit of time before you really need to be concerned. A guy in my office has a daughter 4 days older than Shynelle and she just says Dad and occassionally mum but understands everything and mainly groans or grunts with pointed finger to get what she wants so they're all very different.
Christy, LOL to Matilda taking the nappy off - Shynelle does this too and did it at my mums and threw it all these little pebbles went flying across the room and with mum and I shreking "ARGHHHHH!" - Shynelle thought it was hilourious which it was after we found all of her little deposit's!
xxdd
The poo stories crack me up, I won't incriminate my children, but 2 of them have eaten poo!!! * I hear some people vomiting LOL* Arron vomited too, and of course I had to do the clean up, would you believe it was Arrons fault cos he let them run around without pants and it was poo time.
Kelly- sounds very challenging esp with the ESL kids. Asha sounds like she LOVES creche so that is good.
As for talking kids, Jordan being the eldest and a girl, plus only grandchild was always around adults and was a phenomenal talker. Josh was much slower, very smart but just didn't need to talk as Jordan did it for him. Jemma talks like a 4 year old and is very clever too, I am actually amazed at the things she knows. Jess seems to be a bit like Josh but is now parroting and is 17mths so I guess all kids are different.
Sherie- AAARGH!! at the huntsman, I couldn't leave it there in case it crawled down in the night and got on the kids. I am not totally aracnophobic, but Arron is. Unfortunately any spider which dares to venture in our house is a statistic.
Christy- you are right about the comparing, it isn't a good thing to do, but I think it is human nature and we really can't help ourselves. I have never worried about the talking, I was more concerned about eating differences with Jess and the other 3 than the talking. I know eventually the talking will start up and then knowing my kids they will nbever shut up LOL. Eldest children and esp girls do seem to be the best and earliest talkers though from my experience.
Cheers girls
Mcihelle
dd- PMSL at the pebbles, and Shynelle seems so grown up already. MS is a good sign for youu, although I am sure you'd rather do without it.
dd - Paige is exactly like the daughter of the guy you work with.
Christy - Can just picture you jumping out of the way!
Michelle - Not worried about the spider because Hunstmans just stay up on the wall. I've never seen them on the floor or anything (I hope they stay up there!).
Sherie- are you Sure? I have seen them jump and run and ...YUCK!!!!. must admit they creep me out more than some others, maybe equal to white tails.
Hello girls!!
Things are going well on this end of things... Matilda was up last night from 2am-3.30am with no apparent problems (we tried giving her some milk & changing her nappy) but she was up & cranky. Then woke up this morning perfectly happy  I've been really tired for a while & am now trying some herbs from the natropath to get some energy going. Maybe a week of sleep would be better LOL
Hi guys,
Christy, I'm with you on the sleep and not just cause I'm pg. Shynelle has been waking up during the night and telling me she's scared! Yesterday we had a really big family outing and she didn't have her daytime sleep and was soooooo cranky when we got home she just wanted me next to her it took me about an extra hour to get her to finally go down and then she woke up about 1:30 and 4 AAARRRGGGGHHHHH - I'm exhausted today and at work!
Hope everyone else is good....
xxdd
Sorry about the mega posts guys - BB hiccuped on me when I was trying to send my first and didn't look like it went through - but clearly it did 3 times - DOH!
Mitch - I eat my words!!! Paiges spider dissapeared for a week and he came back the other night but I nearly trod on the bl**dy thing! He wouldn't get back up on the wall either so I sucked him up with the vacuum or otherwise Paige would have tried to touch it.
DD - How is the m/s going? There is nothing worse that feeling tired and cr@ppy and the kids don't want to sleep or they keep waking up ](*,) I hope she settles down for you again soon so you can
Christy - I'll have some of those herbs too if you don't mind *LOL* some days I'm just worn out and sooo tired. I about give my right arm for some extra sleep these days.
PMSL Sherie- now I will be able to sleep at night cos I was picturing that big furry spider deciding to jump into bed with Paige !!!YUCK!
Hope all you girls are cruising along. Most must be in 2nd tri now, which would be a relief.
DD- hi, hope you feel better and are getting soe rest.
Cheers michelle
Hello girls...well I've been taking some of the herbs but I haven't done the B's yet that I'm supposed to be taking, so I think I'll have a go at those as well. BUT Matilda decided last night to sleep through  YAY! Its been cooler the last two nights, so maybe thats why :-k
Hi all,
Well I have been feeling a little better as this week has gone on just having moments of m/s rather than constant which is a huge relief although I have now been getting headaches which isn't nice....but at least I am able to cope with it!
Shynelle has slept through the last two night in a row also (YAY!!!!) so perhaps that's got something to do with me feeling better hmmm.....
She is growing up so fast though it's scary she seems to know what everything is - that's not always a good thing - the other night she fell over and bumped her knee as she was getting up she said "oh mummy bump knee....F$#K" I couldn't believe what I was hearing and said to her "Sorry honey, what did you say?" and she gladly repeated her sentence with the "F Bomb" once she was asleep I had a go at Lee for swearing around her and told him I've told you time and again that you can no longer just go around swearing cause now it's too late she's picked it up he was ofcourse sorry and asked if Shynelle used the word in the correct context so I describe what happened and DH says so she bumped her knee and then dropped the F Bomb I said yeah. He looked at me funny and said "Got news for you I'm not the one that bumps into everything you are....Sweetie" Hmmmm......I said I can't remember doing that I wouldn't have said it he then happily said "hmmm....think ya did cause she picked it up somewhere and she does like copying mummy - including now her potty mouth...."
I can't believe it I do remember walking into the door last week but can't remember saying anything but I think he's right cause that's kind of what she did...little bugger - it was very funny but my how careful you have to be thank goodness it didn't happen at day care - yeesh....
Hey, Michelle I have lost your number so when you get a chance give me a call.
Hope you're lovelies are all doing well....
xxdd
DD - I'm still laughing about the F Bomb. It is so hard not to laugh when they do that for the first time - especially when they do use it in the right context. I'm surprised my kids don't come out with more considering how much time they spend with their grandfather in the sheepyards. ATM I'm having difficulty dealing with Lindsay using 'What the...' in the right context - he's like a mini Rove McManus. Also I usually say 'poobear' when I do someting wrong and the other day Erin asked my why do I say 'poobear', well I could hardly say, 'well its better than saying sh$t' so I just said that Mummy says silly things sometimes and not to worry about it.
Glad you girls are getting some sleep, touch wood Paige hasn't had a rough night for awhile, but yesterday I noticed that she has a tooth bud for her upper eye tooth - so I am predicting fun and games ahead.
Bugga I am sure I posted in here since the poo thing.....Ah well
We have to take Lachlan to the GP tomorrow. When he was born he had a Hydrocele. A Hydrocele is A painless swelling of the scrotum caused by a collection of fluid around the testicle.... anyway last couple of weeks I have thought that his testicles didn't look right and were looking a bit bruised, but cause i want to get a nappy change done fast I don't really pay much attention.
Anyway today I caught him trying to sit on our big toilet, so I introduced the potty to him and let him go without a nappy for a little bit. I was sitting on the floor and he was standing up next to me checking the potty out and I noticed that his right testicle is really swollen and definitely brusied looking compared to his left. Basically what it looked like when he had a Hydrocele as a baby.
We got it checked out by a paeditrican when he was a baby and was told in the majority of cases it heals itself but if it was still like it at 18mths old they would have to operate. It did come good a few months later and by the age of 1 you would never have known. But now it is all swollen etc again, and we are a bit worried that if it is a hydrocele we might have to do the surgery road eek.... but will find out more tomorrow.
Poor little thing :(
Love
Kathryn - Is this something that can be fixed with no further problems? I hope so. Good luck with with the Doctor.
Oh Kathryn, hope everything goes well at the dr's.
xxdd
Kathryn I hope all goes well with poor Lachlan. Surgery is def not a good option, hope it isn't necessary.
dd- I will PM you my number. My mobile number was in your mobile too, did you lose that? By the way PMSL at the f word!!! Jess says **** at just the right moments and I know it's my fault.
Well girls you are pretty quiet in here. I am guessing Kely has been flat out working.
Sherie how's Paige going and did your spider come back or did you fix him up?
Jess is a busy busy girl, done wees on the toilet a couple of weeks ago, just once, but she occcasionally asks me to put her on, prob is she mainly does nothing so I am not really encouraging it atm. SHe is only 18 mths so I am not worrying about it really. SHe is however climbing out of her bed in the day, and so as she can't get out of her room she is sleeping on the floor of her room, which is not as comfy as the cot, and so she doen't sleep very long. SHe stays in at night, so I am not going to organise a bed till we have night sleeping problems cos I know she won't stay in her bed if we get one now. She also climbs on the bench vis the tall stools, on the dining table, on the pool table and anything else which is high enough to fall from. THe other day she drank the dirty dishwater, hile I was cleaning Jemma's room. I walked into the kitchen to see her kneeling on the bench beside the sink scooping water into a cup and drinking it. I am trying to convince her to be a "good girl" is a good thing because she does so many naughty thiongs, like throwing all the magnets off the fridge onto the floor. AARGH! WHy did I buy them???
Anyway Hope you are all well
Michelle
Michelle - Way to go on Jess using the toilet! ATM Paige doesn't like wearing nappie and will get Lindsay's undies and put them on. She wont have a bar of wearing Erin's pants, she just wants Lindsays!
There are no more spiders either *LOL*
Kathryn - How did Lachlan go?
Hi all,
Haven't been in here for awhile, Kathryn how did Lochlan go?
Well, we've had a hell of a time in my house Shynelle had gastro over the weekend and her eyes started rolling back and stuff it was frightening! Ended up in the children's until 5am and then she bounced like there was nothing wrong and I felt like I was hung over without the fun - not good for pg mum!
I took the next day off work to keep her home one more day and had a Dr's appoint. at the appoint he decided to check her sugar levels cause she was drinking heaps and stumbling in there and her sugar registered too high so back off to the childrens we went all day Monday and half of Tuesday I missed my OB appt.
Anyway, to cut a long story short she's fine but has to be monitored over the next three months they don't really know why her sugar came back high twice perhaps something sweet on her hands (I don't know what she hardly ate!) but anyway, I feel in my heart that she's fine and if anything changes over the next three months they're expecting her but they thought they poked and proded her enough for now to be comfortable to let her go for awhile. She was sooooo brave she didn't even flinch when they took blood or even at the finger *****s. Although, after about a couple of finger *****s she knew what was happening and kept tucking her hands under her armpits they had to ask her nicely (even with a "Please") to get her to give them a hand and then she demanded the band-aid and exclaimed "Look that my BLLLOOODD!" They have really good volunteers at the RCH's in Melb and they gave her a knitted doll to which she then asks for a book as well (they got it for her) I guess she's learning you don't ask you don't get - LOL!!
Hope you're all well.
xxdd
DD, I'm sure Shynelle will be just fine. My Mum is a diabetic and we would much around with her little tester to see how high we could get our blood sugar. Even if we touched something sweet it would register on it.
Paige is starting to speak!!!!! It is only a few words, but is it better than nothing. She is starting to mumble along to the Wiggles now too.
OH WOW! That's great Sherie - good on Paige!!
YAY for Paige!!! Matilda is getting so frustrated atm with not being able to get the words out well enough, we all stare at her with blank faces trying to figure out what she is saying and she gets so cross....
DD poor Shynelle & poor mummy!!! Wow at the sugar levels, I hope it was something on her hands [-o< The weekend must have been awful, how are you recovering now?
Hiya Christie, thanks for the thoughts yeah it was pretty draining I'm still feeling pretty tired but what can you do I work full time in the office and at home ofcourse after work so it's hard to relax but this morning I got all energetic and went to the gym before work cause I thought if I get my fitness up whilst I'm pg it should help me cope with moments like these :-k
I can understand Matilda getting frustrated cause i see it in Shynelle's face sometimes when we think she's said something and it's totally wrong she huffs at us and repeats herself until we get it. At the hosp the other day one of the nurses came in and asked if everything was ok and I said "yep" and Shynelle mutted something and the and I both said Huh what did you say "Your thirsty" oh that must be it she wants a drink well shynelle cracked it and repeated herself about three times until we realised she was saying "Hello Alison" cause that was the nurses name and then we freaked that she remembered it cause I didn't even remember it!
Hi Girls
yay for Paige, I love it when they sing. Oh Sherie did you get the message about the $1.05 we owe you?
Christy- it is a difficult age really, esp cos they know exactly what they want to say, you're the one with the problem.
DD- so glad Shynelle is ok, and PMSL at the nurses name story, she is switched on that's for sure. Sounds like she was a champion, Jemma would've been freaking everytime and she's 3.LOL
Jess sems to be constantly saying shower, and she does love a shower, but I figured out this morning that sometimes she is actually saying Joshua but it sounds like shower. I could hear her saying it over and over and went in and she was calling Joshua as he was playing xbox and as he was ignoring him she was saying it over and over LOL
have a nice arvo
michelle
LOL at Allison,... Matilda remembers people's names really well but they don't always sound the same. Michelle funny you say that about Joshua because the neighbours boy is Joshie and Matilda gets so excited yelling "Shosh" whenever I ask her if she wants to visit the big kids.
Such cute little people they are and LOL Michelle at us having the problem that is soooooo true!
God I am slack. I keep forgetting to post in here.
We had to wait 3 weeks before we got to see a specialist. The appointment is at 10am today. His little problem is looking better *typical* but if he has had a relapse once he might have a relapse again later on in life, so if there is an issue I want it sorted now iykwim.
Hopefully I remember to post what the specialist had to say LOL
Love
I'll give you a kick Kat... ;) I hope things go well at the specialist.
Well our whole house has been sick with a nasty bug this week. It started last Friday with Matilda's cough getting awful & she was up all Thursday night/Friday, so we went to the GP who said its viral (of course) and to keep an eye on her... so she only got worse over the weekend & it was awful, but we gladly gave her neurophen (for the swollen tonsils) & dimetapp for the nasal drip & cough from the nasal drip. Then on Monday I started feeling sick & yesterday DH felt really sick too.... so today we are all coughing & hacking & feeling pretty miserable.
So not much else happening.
I had a pretty cr@ppy night with Paige too. She had a fever and I don't know why because she is not sick IYKWIM? She doesn't seem too bad today, but I will keep my eye on her. It is possible she is getting her other eye tooth.
Michelle - OMG!I'm so sorry  I haven't even checked my ebay emails, I have a separate email account to deal with all the ebay emails that come through. I will check it now.
Kathryn - i hope everything goes well for Lachlan today.
Christy - I hope you are all felling better soon.
