Hope it all goes well at the specialist Kathryn.
Sorry to hear you're all sick Christy arh the joys of kids spreading their little germs! LOL!
Well we've had another week of back and forth to the childrens hospital with Shynelle and they still don't know what's wrong with her cause she just woke up on Monday night Vomiting again for no reason and then once it stopped she was good as gold! I'm so exhausted atm and should be feeling more energetic at 22weeks pg! Now they have done more tests and most have come back clear but still waiting on one more and that should be in on Tuesday next week so I'll let you know what happens. They are also now thinking it's just a viral bug she's having a hard time shaking but I'm at a loss cause there's no temperature or anything no coughing nothing she just vomits for an hour or so and her temp actually drops and I would have thought if she was fighting something that her temp would be up??? weird.
Check in later!
xxdd
-
oh how weird dd!! That would be frustrating not knowing what is causing it. I hope Shynelle is better.
& I hope Paige is better too! I hate not knowing what is going on with them when they have temps.

Lachlan has to have surgery on May 19th. 7 weeks from today. There is a 1 in 200 chance of his sperm tract being damaged in the process, so fingers crossed he isn't the 1. I think I am more worried about that than the surgery, I know what men are like with their man hood ;)
Love
-
awww Kat. I hope the next 7 weeks go really quickly for you. I know I would stress about it.
-
Well....so how are the sick sausages now?
We've been coping, she wakes up around 5am atm coughing because its getting cooler at that time, but its still really warm when she goes to bed, so its hard to dress her for the 5am chill ykwim? So we've had to go into her to try & get her warm but the last two mornings its meant woo hoo! time to get up
Today its not as rainy so we are hoping to take her to the park to get some of her excess energy out...she's so much better & we are both still feeling rotten so at least at the park we just have to wonder around behind her & nod to other parents...
-
Well it is Lach's big day tomorrow. He is turning 2  why do they grow up so quick.
we brought him a new magna doodle. Kameron got a cheap version for his b/day or xmas one year but it rooted itself ages ago and Lachlan has been spending hours drawing on the small little tikes scribblet, so thought we would buy Lachlan a big one. Has his parties (yes partIES) on the weekend, so going to be busy.
Love
-
dd - I really hope they work out what is wrong with Shynelle soon, it must be driving you crazy not knowing what is causing her to do this.
Kathryn - Gee, what a bummer about the surgery. I'm sure he will be fine - just remember, there is a 199 chance in 200 that his sperm tract wont be damaged. I hope he enjoys his parties, why are you having several anyway? You must be really good at having kids parties or a glutton for punishment
Christy - IKWYM about the cool mornings. I swear i get up at least 3 times during the night to cover up the kids. Paige is especially bad. Don't know how I'll go through winter.
Paige is over whatever bug she had. She had the fever for two days all up, but on the second day she wasn't that hot. The odd thing is though, she was happy and eating fine, she was just hot.
-
I was a glutton for punishment Sherie LMAO
We had a BBQ at home from family/close friends on the Saturday and then on the Sunday he had a McDonalds party with his playgroup friends. Another little boy at playgroup turns 2 today, so they had a joint party.
Love
-
A joint party is a nice idea. We didn't have a 1st birthday party for Paige, so we might do one for her 2nd.
About the Hydrocele, my 4 week old nephew was diagnosed with one at his checkup. I haven't been speaking to SIL to ask her what type it is yet.
-
Hi everyone, thought I'd come on and give and update. I haven't posted in here for abit but have been reading up on everyone.
We had another horror week with Shynelle vomiting again and then she's fine again like nothing's happened. So back in we went for more tests cause all the others ones came back clear and now I think we may have finally found what's wrong with Shynelle and it's not that bad - well it's not great but could easily be worse!
They believe she is suffering from migrains it presents abit different in kids apparently they don't get the headaches as such this young but they get all other symtems including the vomiting and then it's pretty much all over their back to normal and that's what's happening she is alittle sensitive to light and asks for me to turn the light off even if it's the sun (which I never thought much off) - they couldn't believe they didn't pick it up eariler cause apparently she's pretty text book but it's also kinda rare in kids as young as her and they think it could have been trigured cause she's cutting heaps of teeth atm. We have to go and see a paediatric specialist in this field to find out how to treat her cause she'll be a migrane sufferer but cause we got onto it early we should be able to help her - poor baby but she's doing good again! Anyway, I had bad headaches as a kid and they think I must have had it but I told them I was older like about 8 but it didn't matter cause my dad gets really bad ones and so does one of my sisters so it's in the family.
Kathryn, not sure if Lachlan has had his surgery or it's this coming week so hope all goes/went well!
Hope everyone else is doing ok now and Christy hope you're not suffering too much and anyone else that is expecting again at this time.
Take care guys have a great easter.
xxdd
-
Ah dd that poor sausage!! I hope that they have some answers & relief for Shynelle. I was a migrane sufferer from the time I was 10 until 21. I would have an episode a fortnight and mine consisted of the pain & vomitting & light sensitivity. It will be good to have some specialist attention and help!
-
Boo! Hello hello hello? How is everyone's 2nd birthday's going??? Anyone planning one? Ours is 2 months away and I keep telling myself to start planning now. Matilda's birthday is a Saturday so I think we will have a morning tea picnic in the park.... too easy that way & I don't have to clean my house ;)
-
Hehehe...Christy to BOO! I'm here just been really busy this week training a new girl to fill in for me whilst I'm on Maternity leave. Shynelle has the flu now so she's sick again and just loves coughing and sneezing on me she doesn't understand mummy doesn't want her to share her germs around LOL!!
Shynelle is cutting seven teeth including the two year olds and the eye teeth so it's just fun fun fun day and night and cause she talks she's constantly "Mummy teeth hurt, Mummy teeth hurt, Mummy teeth hurt"...
As far as her birthday is concerned she's about four days after Matilda from memory and I really can't be bothered cause I had a big do last year for her but I'm thinking I might just have family and a cake for her nothing spectacular - but I like your thoughts on the picnic and no cleaning.....
Better go eat now my second tri hunger has kicked in big time and I just can't ever seem to eat enough these days!
Hi to everyone else.

Hi everyone
It has been a long time since I have posted and lots of things have happened.
Ryan was fired the day the industrial relations laws changed and has still not found a job ... hopefully he will soon, the money will be running out very shortly!
We have got most of Asha's present for her birthday and will have a party for her at home again this year. Not as big as last years but I have to do the same for her as I did for the others which is a party (big or small every year up to 5 and then every other year from then on. So this year I will have Asha's party and then another party in July for Jack's 8th birthday. No party for Emma this year.
I am on holidays from work at the moment another week to go ... sadly they just aren't the same with Ryan at home!
Hope you are all well in your hosue again Christy ... not nice when you are all sick!
Poor Shynelle ... I hear you on the teeth thing though ... all of Asha'a eye teeth are coming at the same time ... a big PITA! She will probably just get those and then her 2yr molars will decide to all come at once.
Ok I need to go ... Asha is getting grumpy now!
Cheers
-
Hi, I'm here!
Kelly - what a bugger about Ryan's job. I hope he finds something soon. What industry is he in?
We will probably give Paige a 2nd birthday party because we didn't give her a 1st. I am thinking of giving her a blackboard/whiteboard to see if that will stop her putting her darling artworks on the walls  What is everyone else giving their littlies for their birthday's? Kathryn, what did you give Lachlan?
DD - At least you know what is making her sick now, and it doesn't seem all that sinister, which must be a relief for you. I hope the specialist can help her.
Paige has started yodelling. There is an ad on telly with yodelling in it and whenever she hears it, she will stick her thumbs in her ears, wiggle her fingers and make yodelling noises. It is so hilarious to watch her. I have no idea why she does it with the thumbs in the ears, but it is just so cute!

Hiya Girls
Lach's surgery isn't till the 19th of May so still have few weeks to go, although it is approaching fast LOL
For his birthday we got him a brand new magna doodle thing, they used to have one but was only a cheap as chip brand so didn't last too long in the end, and about a week or two prior to his b/day he found the little tykes scribbler which is a mini magna doodle and he was using that heaps. So we got him the large one with stampers etc and loves it. Sits there for ages scribbling.

Well tomorrow is Lachlan's big day. Feeling okay about it atm, but will be a different story come morning  Have to be there by 7.30am so I will have to set the alarm for 6 i think so I can get us all up and organised as Lach will need a bath etc. If I remember I will post tomorrow once we are home if all goes well.

-
Kathryn, good luck for today. I think it will be harder on you than it will Lachlan *lol*. I'm sure everything will go smoothly for him. Thinking of you today.
-
WOW what a huge day & it came up so quickly!!! I hope everything goes perfect for both of you!
-
Thanks girls. You have both seen the outcome in his hydrocele thread. i am glad it is all over and done with. We think his stitches might be pulling a bit today as he has been a tad sooky and crying at times for what seems like no reason. They are dissolvable ones so hopefully they don't give too much grief for too long.

Hi all,
Kathryn, glad to hear it's all over with Lachlan and I hope he's feeling better now!
Sorry haven't been on in awhile after we had Shynelle in and out of hospital I ended up in there for a few weeks they found blood clots on my lungs and now I'm on injections for the next 6months and then they'll reassess things. It was so sad and hard for Shynelle but she was very brave and with her hosp trips she actually understood that mummy was sick and in hospital to get better but it all became abit much towards the end of the second week and she kept crying on the phone to me "My mummy run away" I just balled my eyes out every time I got off the phone cause I couldn't do a thing about it!
Anyway, it's all good again now and we're going away for the w/end I'm taking her on a tram cause for some weird reason Shynelle's obsessed with them atm lol!
I found Shynelle hiding behind the couch a couple of times now with her pants down and nappy off - when I ask what's she's doing she says "poo mummy" I asked her if she wants the toilet and she says yes but has so far only been "popping off" on the toilet and once she did a tiny tinkle but I think that was an accident - so she's on the toilet training thing again let's hope this is it and I won't have two bubs in nappies!!
Hope everyone else is travelling well.
cheers all,
xxdd
-
LOL dd! Matilda does the same thing! She pulls off her pants & nappy & says poo & runs to the toilet and nothing happens. But as long as they are getting the hang of it...
-
we aren't up to that yet. Kameron trained over winter and it was a long slow process, so I really want to wait to spring with Lachlan if possible.
Love
-
Yeah, I'm thinking this might be long drawn out process too cause whenever DH gets involved Shynelle doesn't want to use the toilet and he insists on asking her about it no matter how many times I tell him to let her go at her own pace but he's impatient and wants his clever girl using the big loo!
-
Hi everyone. i think we will wait for spring/summer too. It is just so much easier then. I did buy Paige some cute Wiggles pants to wear over her nappy when she wants to. She will only be just over 2 by the time it starte to get warmer, so it won't be too bad.
dd311 - How are you going now? What an awful thing to happen. Do the Doctors know how it could have happened? Poor little Shynelle. In a way, she might not be so worried now when you have the baby because she knows that when you go to hospital, you do come back IYKWIM?
-
Hi all,
Thanks for your thoughts Sherie, they are not quite sure atm just thinking though that I may have had these from my pg with Shynelle and not this pg so I've been abit of a walking time bomb and looks like this baby may have saved my life cause they'd never have thought to look for clots unless I was pg so this is a very special little one cause Lee and I weren't even trying and fell first pop - pardon the pun....lol! I'll know more later but my breathing is getting better everyday and yes Shynelle fully comprehends the whole hospital thing now and sometimes when we're getting ready to go out together she asks if I'm ok and need to go to hospital I have to tell her mummy's good she usually gives me a big cuddle and kiss and says "You Relax Mummy be ok" - she's clearly heard someone say this to me over the last few weeks - lol! Very cute!
Looking forward to going away for the w/end so should be nice and relaxing w/end as a family.
I am due to have another scan (30wk) to check that bubs is coping ok with everything and then I'll get a date for when I'm going to have him/her. It looks as though it will probably be around 37 or 38wks atm but we'll know more next wk.
Big hugs to all!
xxdd
-
I'm glad you're feeling better now DD. I guess some things are just meant to happen for a reason. Shynelle is going to seem like such a big girl to you soon when you have your new little one.
-
Hi Ladies ... it has been a while ... again ... never rains but it pours in this house.
Kathryn - Glad the surgery went well and hope that Lachlan is over the worst of it now and well on the road to recovery.
DD - How scary for you all ... gad to hear that things are ont he mend. It is so hard when your baby cries ... Igo through it most days when I leave Asha at day care to go to work. It doesn't get any easier, I feel the same when my big kids cry!
Christy - Hope things are going well for you ... I don't think I have passed on my congratulations to you about your pregnancy. How exciting ... I am a little bit jealous but with things the way they are at the moment I don't think we will be having any more kidlets :( Hope that Matilda is coping with everything ok.
Sherie - Asha has been pulling her nappy off and running through the house saying "Asha nudey bum" it is funny ... she has such a little bum and she looks funny when she runs!
As far as toilet training goes Asha sits on the toilet but often doesn't do anything but we have to sing all her favourite songs and give her a small piece of toilet paper for her to wipe with before she gets off. She has done a few wees on the toilet and even done one poo but I think that has more to with timing than her understanding the concept as she has more accidents than goes on the toilet. She likes to wear knickers too and often wears them over her nappy, no harm but it is a pain when she wont let me take them off to change her nappy.
Asha is getting more teeth at the moment and is being a real pain in bum at bed time. We will have to buy her a gate so she can learn to put herself to sleep in her own bed. It was 9.30 before she went to sleep tonight and I can't keep doing that as I have lots to do before I go to bed as well! I am thinking about cutting down or out her day sleep. She currently sleeps for 2 hours during the day and often at day care they have to wake her up but I want her to go to bed sooner in the evenings and wodner how she will cope with no sleep or only an hours sleep ... will try this weekend and see what happens I guess.
We had fun and games here last night ... Asha was so upset because Jack hurt himself in the shower (he slipped over and knocked out his front tooth on the soap holder!!!) and he was crying and screaming and had a large amount of blood coming out of his mouth. Asha started crying and I was trying to get Jack to calm down telling him that he was scaring Asha ... and all he could do was apologise ... I felt so bad!
Anyway what was going to be a quick update has turned into a novel ... it is time I went to bed, we had Fun Run at school today and I ran 7 laps of the oval with my kids and I am shattered!
Have a great weekend ...
Cheers

Hi everyone,
Well we've been very busy here Shynelle decided on Sunday that she didn't want her nappy anymore and told me she wants undies like mummy. I told her if she did she'd have to use the toilet and well SHE DID!!!!! She's been using it ever since and we've had a couple of accidents but she absolutely hates it when she does and cries for me to fix it. So it's all happening - I can't believe it. It was so easy, at her day care they said she wouldn't even let them put a nappy on her for her sleep and then when she woke up she told them she had to go toilet and she did. She is doing no1's and no.2's in the toilet!
Anyway, just wanted to tell you all my very exciting news.
Hope everyone else is well.
Love to all.

DD I am so jealous. I would love for Asha to get the hang of it ... but then I guess I don't really want her to grow up so fast! LOL can't win.
Better go ... almost Asha's bed time.
Cheers
-
Hey girls - my optimism was alittle premature - Shynelle refuses to put a nappy back on and even gathered all the ones I have left and put them on DH's side of the bed and said "Daddy have Nels nappies - me no want them they yuck!" but is also alittle scared of the loo for some reason now she will always tell me when she needs to go but is holding on for ages and has constipated herself abit and even with her wee I think she's almost in pain from holding on. I've spoken with the day care and they think she's way ready but will have some accidents still for a while until she learns that it's ok to let it go. I have wanted to give it up by putting nappies back on but as you can see she won't wear them anymore cause "Nel wears undies like mummy not stinky nappies". I haven't been able to get a nappy back on since Sunday but can't quite get Shynelle to understand that going to the toilet is ok and she doesn't have to hold on.......
I'm told this can also be normal behavour when newly toilet training? Any advice from mums been there before?
xxdd
-
Hey DD, Lindsay had this incredible fear of doing a poo in the toilet and would hold on for ages until he got constipated. It wasn't until he did his first one that he must of thought, well it's ok IYKWIM? And them having accidents is normal too. Lindsay rarely had them because he was a lot older, but Erin had a few accidents along the way. It is all about having patience in the truck load LOL. They do get the hang of it trust me :) Paige is nowhere near to that stage though, so Shynelle and Asha are going great guns.
So what are you girls getting your little girls for their birthdays? I have ordered Paige a talking Peppa Pig from the ABC online shop, but it wont get here till after her birthday (on backorder). I also got her a Little Tikes Jumpin n Jivin musical mat that they can dance on and it plays music.
-
DD just a thought is there something that they can have in the toilet to play with while they are in there, just might make it a bit more of a friendly place iywkim.
Love
-
Matilda still just loves playing on the toilet, she strips off and runs to the loo and sits & sings on the toilet. When she finishes her song she says "YAY" and wipes & jumps off. She doesn't do anything in the toilet but play. So we let her have a few plays a day & put her nappy on in the meantime.... thank goodness we can still use the nappies, I don't think I'm mentally ready for the whole TT thing yet.
We got Matilda a doll capsule with a doll and a stroller for the doll for her birthday. Also an outfit. So cute....
-
Ummm went OTT for Asha'a birthday ... well not really as I am buyign for others who aren't able to.
Asha is getting a new Dora the Explorer bike, a Dora hat, a talking Dora doll, a Dora blanket, a Dora bike helmet, jigsaw puzzles, Duplo, a Talking BackPack. In case you hadn't worked it out LOL ... Asha is a Dora nut!!!
Cheers
-
Mum is getting Paige a Dora scooter from Target. It was $50 and it has two wheels at the back so it stays upright. She tries to ride LIndsay's two wheel one but can't balance and then she gets the poo's LOL.

Hi Everyone
The moderating/Admin team have decided that the time has come to merge this thread the with July-Dec 2004 thread. There is only a handful of active users in each thread and it is easier Admin wise if it can go to together, both threads move reasonably slowly so we didn't think this would be a problem, and we will all have some new ppl to chat too :)
