blame my parentalsThey're - ummm - how to put it nicely - high maintenance!!! We were either dealing with them, feeding, changing nappies, playing or sleeping!
btw - people have been asking about eye tracking, neck strength, etc... Alyssa was tracking us from about 3 days after she was home from hosp. We didn't notice, but MIL is a child physio and pointed it out that when she saw mummy or daddy she'd watch us like a hawk, following where we were moving. Also was able to triangulate sounds and turn to mummy's voice. Has gotten better each day, but MIL picked up on it really early. Was VERY exciting =) Her neck is also very, very strong. She's been able to move her head from one side to the other during tummy time since 2 days old, and frequently lifts her head to look up at me or look for where I am. Makes me melt =)))
My brother gave us a bunch of high contrast pattern toys and books, so she's been LOVING them. They've been wonderful for getting her to track and move her head/neck and such.
Her skin is still a little dry, so we're bathing every 2-3 days and using alpha keri oil in her bath (no soap, just the oil). She's also just come out with a milk rash in the last two days, so looking a little red,but still soooooo damned cute!
And the smiles! Oh, they are so amazing =) I fall more and more in love with each smile =)
And like so many others, been a bit snotty. We're considering investing in whichever drug company produces Fess Little Noses
As for weight gain, she put on 230g in her first week since leaving hosp, and another 400g in the following 9 days. We'll take her back in to a drop in clinic this thurs for another weigh in. Very healthy and thriving on breastmilk (even if my right BB is suffering still!!)
Pixie and Belle - funny how they prefer one side over the other!! Do you both feel any fuller or anything on either side? My right still gets a little engorged, but nothing too badly... She just seems to always fuss with it.
Well, think that's about it for us... full update =) personals some other time - she's just about to start screaming for a feed!! Been fussing and chatting to herself for an hour =)
