Tannis.. :hug: yeh its definately the age hun. I mean, i do those things with Jesse but it doesnt always work. Just depends how stubborn he is being. But yeh id give the vitamins a go. As i said, his temperment since hes been taking them is so much better. Oh lol i dont like Yo Gabba Gabba either.. thoughi f its gonna give me 5 minutes peace.. its my best friend! lol Glad your FIL isnt as bad as first thought!

We're home again today. Was going to go out and get a mattress for Keira's cot this arvo when DH got home but just saw Target have a sale on from Thursday with 25% off Nursery! So im gonna wait until Thursday as i know they have the mattresses with the built in waterproof side.

I went to buy a gate yesterday from Target but didn't want to spend $80 on it then I got Target's catalogue through email and saw they had one that I was looking at for 50% off and the other for I think 30% off, the 50% off one there was only 1 left so I will try to get up there at 8.30am on Thurs to make sure I get it plus there is 20-30% of kids clothes too so I might get some things for Ashlea for xmas (J has enough).

We have a party to go to at FDC today, then I will leave J there for a bit while I get A's needles...I don't think a screaming 2yo is the best when needles are being give LOL. Hopefully I'll have 2 sleeping children this arve and I can do another 7 or more kms on the bike.

J stayed in bed all night last night! I'll still get the gate will come in handy when A is crawling. Well better get in the shower want to get out of here before Diego starts at 9am

Tan.. Jess is taking Penta-vite (orange and white box, pineapple flavour). Yep in the liquid form as he wont eat lollies (crazy child!). But you can get it in the chewable form also. Yeh looks like a good sale.. i might try and get some summer clothes for missy too.. Jesse needs some new tshirts also. Thats great he stayed in his bed all night!! Break through hey!!

Hayden likes to be around people alot of the time. If he can see us around him, then he's fine. Awh, how cute that Julia is doing that. Now days Elijah is starting to believe me when I tell him that Hayden thinks he's great. He didn't believe me before, but now since Hayden constantly smiles at him, he understands.

Tan - I'm glad your FIL didn't have stroke. Fingers crossed the ABs get rid of it. Hope Ashlea's needles go ok today.

Mel - I'm sorry things have been a nightmare. I hope today is a better day. :hug:

Pixie - Elijah was a bit like Beth. He'd like cuddles and being around people, but then he'd get sick of it. Hayden is the opposite. He'd get cuddled all day, every day if he could.

Geez, I'm so over this 'baby brain' cr@p. I'm so distracted lately. It's like I start doing something and get distracted and and start doing something else and forget to finish both things until ages later.

Yesterday, I changed Haydie's bum and was going to feed him, but since he was quite happy to just lay there and look around I forgot all about feeding him and started doing something else. I only remembered to feed him when we got to the supermarket and he was whingy.
I was like "OMG DP! I'm such a bad mother! I forgot to give him his bottle before we left." He kept tryna say I wasn't but still. :(
It was only like 4 - 41/2hrs since his last feed though, but that's not the point.
HOW COULD I FORGET?!?! :wall: :wall: :wall:

Belle - over night we get anything from half an hour to 4 & a half hours and she's still a very clingy baby. Always wants to be held

Well callum did ok at the doc's. He still has the thickening in his atery and up until 6 months ago they operated but he said they more just watch and see how things go. I have to go back in 2 years. As he said if anything had to be done they would try and not do it before he is 5. So at least I dont have to think of that yet.

Going to mums tomorrow with the kids. BBl on Saturday.

hello all you yummy mummys!

well its been a pritty productive day today. the nappies r washed and drying in the dryer (its raining) my folding is almost done the floors are moped i cleaned the kids bedrooms (it had been a while and it was so grose, isaac hides food:doh:) and we had a guy come and clean our rug and lounge suit. i might do the dusting and inside of my windows later.

my scar is sore today my stupid dog jumped on me yesterday and hit his paw right on it. it hurt so much. if it is still saw i might mention it to my Dr when i go back to get the pill.

Tannis- Ike is on penta-vite aswell, i notice if he eats food with presertives in it he is much naughter than usual. sugar doesn't affect him its all the other crap that goes with it. Ike has some pritty bad tanties too. DH and i have actually been talking about how to handle them over the past few days as its a daily problem sometimes several times a day. so far the naughty chair has been working at home but when we are out i have no idea. they say with older children you should tell them that when they get home they will have to sit on the naughty chair and even if its hours later you should follow thru and still make them, but i know isaac wouldn't understand that yet he is too young. at home its awsome 8/10 times it stops a tantie in its tracks, and thats just the threat of it. then we distract him and he forgets.
i sure would like to know what to do when a 2 year old has a tantie in the shops. there was one time that we were shopping isaac was walking with DH and we used a bench seat as a naughty chair and it worked but i would be damed if i was alone and he was having a wobbly in the pram, to get him out would be a huge mistake. lucky for me most of my shopping is done will kell or DH so ike has them to keep him company and occupied.
oh an ree the leash i was so against them but now i love it, if i am shopping with DH, mum or something we can leash ike up and he can look around and walk without fear of loosing him or someone taking him. you should try it.

Tennykins you are a great mum. oh crap i remember there have been days even before the twins when i have wonded why ike was so cranky and then i relised i had forgoten to give him dinner oops:redface:. if you wanted to you could demand feed anyway so it wouldn't matter if he went 5 hours he would cry when he is hungry.

Belle- sebastian is a clingy baby too. most nights we let him winge a bit because if he had his own way he wouldn't be able to put him down. the boys are only in infant size as they fit and i didn't want to buy more NB nappies as i am changing to cloth slowly and wouldn't use them. Tara seems like a perfect weight to me. the twins weigh the same as her and are almost 3 months old now.
but the twins won't sleep thru i wish they would but no such luck, don't worry tara is perfect.

well better run do something while the boys r asleep.

oh and i thought i would ask for some ideas. we need a holiday, resort preforably. but we only want to spend about $1500. any ideas. we went to fiji last time and it was $1200 including flights, maybe thailand, would you take babies there?
gunna try to get my sister or mum to come so that she can help with the kids.

Sum up of my bad day yesterday - DS woke at 11.40pm - and would not go back to sleep until 3.30am, then she was up at 6.00am - mind you we went to bed at 11pm after her last feed. Then he was cranky and whingy all day, she wouldn't settle at all the entire day, I started a new diet and was bloody hungry, got AF when not expecting it and ruined a pair of undies, banged my funny bone in the car and it friggin hurt like hell. All on 3 hours sleep. Was a gross day.
I hate typing with one hand so going to sign off now before any more personals.

Kristy.. hmmm i prob wouldnt go to somewhere like Thailand with babies.. especially if theyre bottle fed. You have to be very careful with the water in places like that as it is iykwim. I guess it depends on what type of holiday you want. If you want to go overseas, somewhere that is gorgeous is New Zealand. But theres always the Gold Coast. Isaac would love dreamworld and seaworld.

Ashlea's needles went pretty good, she only whimpered for the 1st one and really cried for the 2nd one but as soon as the dummy went in she was fine. She has been pretty clingy since we've been home though, I have only just been able to put her down. Jayden fell asleep in the car on the way one (we were at a 3rd bday party at FDC) but then woke when I put him in bed and wouldn't go back to sleep, so nothing is getting done today. Diego is on now so I should go vacuum while he is occupied...don't think I'll be getting on the bike today :( Too hot anyway.

Well we have had a great day today! Isabel was such a good girl at Mothers Group cooing and smiling at all her new little friends. I had a pretty good night on my own to (DH is in Gold Coast for expo) he comes home on Thursday so I have another 2 nights on my own.

Mel - Oh you poor thing you did have a bad day yesterday, I hope that today has been a little easier on you all.

Kell - I was thinking of enrolling Isabel at kindy soon and I can't believe we are even thinking of that but it's so hard to get into them these days. I don't know if I will enroll her daycare as my mum will be looking after her should I decide to go back to work.

Kristy - If you want to go on a holiday NZ is just beautiful and almost always cheaper than going on holiday anywhere in Australia (unless of course you get a cheap deal).

Tenny - You're not a bad mum, we all forget to do things I normally try to stretch out her feed times for an extra hour just so I can get her to sleep longer at night. You're doing a great job sweet ;)

hi there everyome, i had mothers group today which was good until she checked Jacobs weight again.

he has put on 110 grams and she is like thats ok but we want more of gain WTF i am sooooooooooooo upset she made me feel like i am starving him as he has gone from 75% to 10%.
He is a baby that feeds to sleep and tends to catnap during day and sometimes have decent sleep but in evening will always settle for 4 - 6 hrs and then feed over nighta nd sleep again for 3 - 4 hrs. The other night he slept 11 hrs (pity it was 4pm till 3am). I said to her about this and she said well he will sleep even if hungrey!! like WTF
so she wants me to express at least 3 times a day and give him that bottle at night. He doesnt sleep often in day so when will i express and when he does express i do house stuff eat and shower!!

anyway enought of a rant for me

Mez: Ashlea is already enrolled in Kinder, I enrolled her when I enrolled Jayden which was when I was about 6mths PG....what was scarier was there were 6 other kids already enrolled for that year...pays to get in early, Jayden may not get in unless a few ppl drop out.

Oh Ashlea got weighed today, she was 5.3kgs with clothes on so I will get a more accurate weight on Fri at the Health Clinic, I worked out that she has gained about 500g in less than 2wks! She is also 59cm (more than what I measured yesterday so I'll check that Fri too).

Still waiting for Chris to come home with Pizza! I just gave Jayden vegemite toast and yoghurt to tie him over or that will be enough if he falls asleep waiting.

ETA: Feeb, your doing a great job hun! I know how they make you feel, I remember with Jayden there was 1 midwife that used to scare the cr@p out of me, basically saying I was starving him....its the worst feeling esp for 1st timers. The only thing I can suggest is make him feed 3 hourly (or more he he wants) during the day and no more than 5-6hrs overnight. There is little time to express during the day esp with a cat napper! Can you express overnight? I know its a PITA but just to build your supply a bit. Is supply the only prob? Is it still hurting or is there any damage? ANyway a gain is a gain, your doing a fantastic job!

Oh for f*ck sake. Feeb Hun dont worry about that she is saying. She is a control freak and is just upsetting you. There is nothing wrong with his weight gain hun. He is just on the lower part of the scale. These nurses make things worse some times. Its makes me so mad when I hear ladies like yourself feeling as if you have done some thing wrong. Keep going the way you are he is putting on weight. He is doing fine. I had a nurse try and tell me to keep expressing as breast is best but HELLOOOOO if its not working for me and im not getting enough milk ( which means Liam wouldnt have been getting enough) then no its not. I WANT TO RUN AND SCREAM !!!!! Your doing great guns hun and dont ever ever think your not. He is fine!!!

Feeb- I so agree with Missy, don't ****ing listen to the them you know ur baby, don't worry about his weight gain ur not making him starve the baby can only drink so much when he wants man, when he wants more he will let u know, when he has had enough he'll let u know, don't listen to the lady, it's not her son, tell her to go worry about her kids if she has any. All I know is that ur doing a FANTASTIC JOB, well done sweety.

Tannis- hope u enjoyes ur pizza sweety.

Mary- How r u sweety? I'm so glad Izzy is a good girl for u at mother's group & any other day as well :) She is a good girl & soooooooooo cute.

Mel- I had Jonathan with my parents only for a few hours when I go grocery shopping. But I don't want to leave them with my IL's because they work & just say the if he is crying they won't attend to him because they might have customer's & my hubby will be doing deliveries. Oh they have a buisness family factory. That's the only reason why I don't want to leave them with them when Jonathan starts prep. (Before that he will go to child care, if I go back to work, or fall pregnant). I feel very uncomftorble with my IL's at the factory, if they were home then OK. Even now when I leave Jonathan with my parents for 2 hours I do the shopping quick cause I want to go & be with my son, I'm scared that he might cry, or my parents can't handle it, I don't know. But you know wat I mean you been through with it with A. Sorry ur having a hard time, hope it will get better soon sweety :hug:

Feeb.. ehh dont listen to the narky biarrch! And dont wake him of a night! The last thing you want to do is waking a perfectly sleeping baby at night to only have them get into a routine of waking for a feed and not being able to get out of it!!! Id say the reason she said to feed him during the night was because of his little weight gain that week. If youre really concerned, just offer more frequent feeds during the day. I would really try that, than waking him honestly hun. Youll always find a biarch midwife somewhere. I had one with Jesse who made me feel so guilty when i stopped BF, but it was my choice. They really have no right to make you feel like that and the ones that do really dont know their job too well!!!! ... and most probably have never had kids!!! If its your supply.. i know the mums in Jesse's BB group have said "Activite" (its a drink that youll find near the milo in the supermarked) helps increase your supply. Maybe try that?? You are doing wonderfully the way you are going hun!

Mez.. is it hard to get into in Melbourne? Sydney or our area isnt too bad.. theres quite a few child care centres around. Thats soo good to hear Izzy is so happy now. Especually when you had such trouble with her in the beginning :)

Tannis.. oh Jesse's like that now. If he falls asleep in the car, theres no hope of me getting him into bed. Yeh hopefully Jesse will be fine.. he absolutely loves older kids.. to the extent he screams with excitement the whole time when he's around them.. even in the shops!

Kel - we use that vitamins here too for DS - although been really slack and not been giving it to him - just forgetful... but started him on another dose this morning (thanks to you - thanks for the reminder!!)

Tan - I spoke to DH this morning - he suggested we leave Chris at the pub and we take the kids to a park or something.. lol... he isn't really into football - so wouldn't be watching the final but doesn't think its fair to leave me alone with both kids. So he said he would come with us. So if you want to do something like that - maybe Chris can go down to the Maroochy RSL and we can go to a park at Cotton Tree (like 2 minutes away). Up to you though honey!!!!!

Hello to everyone else!!!!

Had an ok night here last night - DD had a bath around 6-ish and then a bottle and then fell asleep around 7-ish - we went to bed at 9.30 - and she woke at 1am - so that was a huge sleep for her - just a shame it wasn't started later at night!!!!! Then she woke up at 4.30 - but I stuck the dummy back in - and that got her through till 5.30. DH got up and fed her for me, and I stayed in bed and dozed for another hour. Actually feel quite good this morning - yay!!!

Dosing DS up on the drugs at the moment - he has a cold/virus type thing - so frantically getting Dimetapp and vitamins into him so he can go to daycare tomorrow.. pmsl... yes... I really need a break THAT much from him.... that Dimetapp is GOOD stuff - clears his nose up straight away for the whole day.... ;) He has actually been quite good - so far - this morning - so whingyness or anything - even got a load of washing on without him coming and hassling me - and DD is asleep so FINALLY I get time on here... too early for a second cuppa.. hmmm... might go lanolise my woolies!!!

Hey hun, If you look at all our charts that Kell posted for us to fill in, all our babies are around 4 1/2 - 5 kg. Your in that bunch too hun. SO if your midwif isnt happy with what your doing or your DS weight that means she wouldnt be happy with us all. WTF, I beg your parden lovely, BUT if all our babies are weighing around the same then we cant all be doing it wrong. Bitach!!!! I know im doing it right, IVE HAD 3 KIDS. Your doing wonderful. Go to another midwif or just dont listern to her horrible remarks.

Oh and I so agree with kell, dont wake a happy baby at night to give him one feed. Offer more during the day if your concern but still your doing great.

Feeb - Hun don't listen to that midwife, you are doing a wonderful job with little Jacob. He is putting on weight so I really wouldn't worry too much about what she is saying. He looks healthy and happy. If you can maybe ask for another midwife to look after you and Jacob.

Well last night was an okay night, Izzy decided that she wanted to wake every hour from her 11:30pm feed, even the dummy wouldn't work. She is currently sleeping. It's a gorgeous day here in Melbourne today so I'm going to head out to highpoint's Baby Bunting. Hope you all have a great day!

Nah No way I would wake him at night, during day he feeds a fair bit anyway he has anything from 5 - 9 feeds in 24 hrs.

Wet nappies he has at least 4 if not 7 in a day they are not always really heavy but why would I want to leave it on till it is really heavy!! I know he wees as nappies are wet and hedid 3 in bath other night with DH was very funny!!!

Weight wise they seem to forget that he was 3995 grams born then went back to 3510 grams so thats 1400grams from day 4 till 11 weeks!!!!!!!!!!

Who else had a baby about same wight at birth and what are they now?? i was looking throught weights now but cant remeember who stareted at what!

He does settle and sleep and isnt always grumpy he does have happy times.

I am going to GP monday for Losec review and will speak to her about weight (mchn has given me letter for her)

Man being a midwife doesnt help for this part!! We only learn about the really newborn part!!!!!!!!

Feeb honey, don't listen to the silly cow. Sometimes babies grow a lot one week and not so much the next. Your little man is still gaining weight and you are doing a great job. Why would you wake a sleeping baby in the middle of the night it is just stupid. Seriously sometimes these people say the most moronic things. The LC's in hospital said things like "breastfed babies don't get wind" and "you can't overfeed a breastfed baby"
WTF??? have these people ever seen a baby??? where do they get this crap from?
I posted this on the August thread too because someone was getting advice they didn't want - you need to get a t-shirt like my dad has got which says "Let's just pretend I give a **** and leave it at that"

Feeb - OMG! I can't believe she'd make you feel like that. What a B!TCH! It's hard enough as a first time mum as it is, without professionals making you feel like that. A gain is a gain. You're a wonderful mum and you're doing a fantastic job. I'd go see another midwive if I were you. You need support and encouragement instead of her cr@p.
Hayden was 3895grams when he was born.
At 5wks his clothed weight was 4870grams.
I'm going to get him weighed later this week, so I'll update then.

Mel - I hope DS is better today and will be able tog o to daycare. Dimetapp is awesome stuff!! I know this is bad to say, but half the time I look forward to Thursdays cause it's preschool day. I do miss him when he's there, but it's so much easier to get things done cause he just doesn't listen to me when we're out and thinks he can do whatever he feels like it.

Pixie - LC's say that in hospitals? and they're suppose to be the professionals. :rolleyes: Half of them probably don't even have children.

Feeb - I think DD was the closest to your DS' weight at birth - she was 3950gms when born - and at 8 weeks - is 4.98 - so has gained a kilo in 7 weeks. Not sure if that makes you feel better? She is formula fed, so should be on different charts than BF ones anyway...

And you shouldn't be comparing babies anyway!!! As long as he IS gaining, and plenty of wet and poopy nappies - you should be giving yourself a pat on the back - not beating yourself up. :hug:

Yes BF and FF should be on diff charts but they dont do it for some dumb reason!!!!!!!!

I just had a work friend who is a LC and high up in ABA and she was like he looks great dont stress he is very alert etc.

Hello everyone!!!

We arent doing much night sleeping atm thats why I havent been posting much. Just about to leave to go to the OB for my 6 week checkup (at 8 & half weeks :rolleyes:) I really dont want to go. Over the 3 days I was in hossy & during the birth he didnt come in even though he was at the hossy on the second day. All Ive heard about him since I left the hossy have been complaints.

DF had maddi the other night while he was playing the xbox (with no shirt on) and she turned her head & latched onto his nipples :cryinglaugh: you should have heard the scream from him LOL it made my day

Feeb.. yeh i dont think any training can help you until you experience it yourself first hand when it comes to having a baby. Ive studied and worked in childcare from ages newborn to school aged, and really none of that really prepares you for having a baby yourself. You are doing a wonderful job.. just continue to go with your instincts. Keira was born 3.53kgs.. last weighted 5.15kgs but is a porker and is formula fed. Both my kids have grown fast early. But as long as hes weeing, putting on weight and is happy thats all that matters. In a years time there will be no difference between all of our babies.

Pixie.. oh some midwives come out with whoppas hey! With Jesse (being my first born i had no idea).. i asked one if youre suppose to burp a breastfed baby. She said its up to you, if you do you do, if you dont you dont. Man.. now i know.. hell yes you burp them! Otherwise theyll end up in pain! Makes you wonder how they did their training sometimes hey!

Hi, sorry I wont be doing personals..I did read through though.

I have been sick since Monday arvo (well felt off)..spent from 2am onwards this morning with my head in the toilet:( i hate being sick. DH stayed home today so he could look after the kiddies, luckily I had a few bottles of EBM in the fridge so he could feed Lucas. Finally got outta bed bout 4pmish so I could shower..had to sit in the shower as I felt so weak. Feeling OK now but wont count my chickens before they hatch. Gunna go watch tv in bed.. :p

Took Alyssa to our GP today to get a referral to the pead for her 6 month checkup (if I don't do it now I'll forget about it, then get in trouble when I rock up for her checkup without one!). I also asked our doc when she is old enough to fly as we need to plan a trip to Adelaide to chat with our architect. The response: "Why, as soon as her wings are fully developed, of course!". Smarta$$ =))) Love him

Kell: Did the boys have a playdate still? We had one today too with a friends DD(2.5yo) and DS(1yo)...The kids had fun but they got sick of each other by the end of the day as they were both tired! Gotta remember those vitamins tomorrow, will write it on my list tonight. What a beautiful smiling for the camera DD you have! Wish Ash would smile for the camera. The outfit is gorgeous.

Mel: That sounds good, kids would rather be outside (I'd rather Jayden outside running). I'll still have to find out where Chris is going but a park is a great idea. Feeb: Ashlea was 3800g at birth she dropped to 3260g by day 8 and 5300g yesterday but that was clothed so say 4900/5000g, I can be more accurate on Friday. Majority feeds have been BF but she has had quite a few FF & EBM in 6wks (last 2 wks has just been BF). Glad you are feeling better, the LC I saw with J was concerned with his little gains but said a gain is a gain and with BF babies it as long as they are not losing weight (she was really supportive)

Sal: GL with your OB tomorrow...poor effort he didn't see you in hospital! PMSL @ Maddie latching on to DH! I would have love to have seen that!

J didn't have a sleep today so he has gone to bed easily tonight before 7.30pm and no gate on his door (still buying one tomorrow). A also went to sleep at about 6.45pm when J and I were eating dinner, so I am free from human life until A wakes around 9 or 10pm or if Chris gets home 1st.

FIL has pnuemonia(sp)....so not sure if its a good thing or bad thing at his age, I'm not sure how bad it is either. I've had it twice but I was also 50yrs younger when I had it last.

Well I'm off to have a shower, clean up after dinner and relax, not often I can do it at this time of night!

Tan - yeah I'd be right by myself - but Craig actually wants to come!!! Doesn't think its fair that I have the kids all week by myself - what can I say - considerate husband or what!!!! He can play and entertain our naughty boys while we sit and have a natter with our good girls ;)

OH MEL!!! I am so jealous! I wish Chris would think its unfair that i have them all week and its his turn to take over! Sounds great if he can entertain the boys though! My SIL said the pool area at the resort we are staying at is really good for their age group too....i think there is a playground there. I will check it out and let you know though.

Cleaning day here today - woohoo - ooh think miss M is just about to wake up... needs another feed I think (think I fed her at 6.15am... I can't remember... too early... hadn't had coffee yet)

DS went to daycare today - his nose cleared right up with having that Dimetapp and he stopped rubbing at his ear so the fluid must of gone.. woohoo!!!!!

Ahh well.. better get the vac out..
