Missy.. i just re read and i missed the part about your BIL. Im so sorry hun. My FIL as you know is going through a similar thing. He was given 12 months to live and that was up in February that just past. Hes still here now so anything is possible. He went through several treatments of chemo. Last lot was at 75% which is pretty potant. It was knocking him around too much so they switched him to a new treatment that is in the form of a tablet. I guess all you can do is just keep positive and be there for your sister and him. We keep telling my FIL that Jesse still needs to take him down to the pub for a beer when hes 18. And we are just enjoying and making most of every moment iykwim. Big for your tough tough time honey. You know im always here if you need me ok.. even if you need to just drop Callum off to have some time to yourself.. any time hun.. the door is always open ok.

I don't want to get involved too much in last nights discussions, but I do want to say that I love BellyBelly for the fact that there isn't any b!tchiness like there are on other forums. I love that there are so many members with a wide variety of views/opinions on parenting issues, so many ppl from differents walks of life....rich/poor, young/old, working parents/SAH parents and everyone seems to respect other ppl's way of life. Pixie.. give your GP a call before hand and ask if they have all the needles. There is a new one just of resent they are getting called the Rota Virus or something. Alot of places dont have it as yet. My GP is one. So im having to go to the community ones which is just at our local heath centre near the hospital. With them you dont need to make an appointment, you just rock up with baby and blue book in hand.

Missy- i am so sorry about your BIL its the last thing your famil needs. it is so hard to know what to say and no matter how sensitive you are it will still be upsetting. if it was me i would just tell them you are here for them no matter what; at any time of day or night. if you wanna help them, sometimes just cooking meals doing washing and paying their bills can really help so they can focus on getting better.

I'm also guilty of both thinking and implying naughty things. this thread is not a debate or arguement and i agree we should step back and be nice. if my divorced parents can do it so can we.

Zee i'm sorry you felt bulied! our issues were in a different thread and should have stayed their. if we have issues next time i will PM you and we can discuss it as grown ups. we should BOTH be careful how we say things, and as our own mummys tried to teach us we should think before we speak.
as missy said sometimes rephraiseing something can make all the difference, and i know i will be more careful in future.

Missy I don't think anyone could have said it better than that, good on you.
Really really sorry to hear about all the problems your family is having at the moment. Health problems are just the worst and make you feel so helpless. If you don't have your health you've got nothing... As for how you can help maybe if there are just practical things you can help with, giving lifts here and there when you can, cooking a meal they can put in the freezer occasionally, just simple things I guess. People appreciate those things so much in difficult times.

About the needles, did you need to make an appointment specially or do you just go to your regular GP and they have everything there already? I really should have taken DD today but couldn't be bothered.... going to meet up with some friends tonight and don't want her unsettled and grumpy (hmmm how many more excuses can I come up with LOL)

Pixie and Kristy yes I didnt evern think to make dinner for sister. That is a good idea. Mum is there at the moment but she leaves on sat I think. I will make a couple of dinners for them. Maybe chilli con carn, and spag. I know the kids like that too, Pixie I didnt need a appointment for Liams needle. Most doc have the goods there.

We're moving to Adelaide to get Alyssa closer to family. We bought a house there last year with the intention of knocking it down and rebuilding later. Since then we lost FIL suddenly and unexpectedly and we made the decision to push forward the move. Family IS more important, so we want Alyssa to have the opportunity to be with them - feel terrible that she never had a chance to meet her grandfather on her daddy's side (I was 6 months pregnant when he passed away).

Also, we both work from home. It's a three bedroom house and one of those rooms is now the nursery, and the house was just a MESS using the lounge as an office. We've outgrown it. Our new home design incorporates two offices in addition to the bedrooms!! No need to clutter the place with computers! Yay =))) Now to find someone to build it at a reasonable price and get it on the go
