Kell - I'm glad the bonjella is working. I'm glad DS1 loved that stuff. I'm hoping Bubbablue likes it too. I'm starting to think maybe Bubbablue might be teething too, but I'm not really sure. Fingers crossed he's not... just yet. YAY! for wrapping your pressies and getting your wii fit! I finished wrapping all of ours on friday afternoon. Such a relief to finally get it all over with.

We had a great time out at dinner on Friday night. DS1 was gooooooooood. Bubbablue slept for most of the time then was him usual angel self. He cried when everyone was talking to him and kept looking for me. My little bubby is such a mumma's boy.
They got early christmas presents from my sister too. DS1 is inlove with his Ben10 stuff.
It's sooooooooo windy here. I hate the wind! All night it kept bashing the peach tree against our window and the branches kinda made scratchy noises on the glass. Very annoying. so I'm tired and all that today.
And I think I might have talked DP into getting a new stroller later on down the track when Bubbablue moves from the pram to a stroller. DS1 chewed the handles of the one we have when he was little so that's gross, plus the a bit of the brakes broke off. They still work but I'd prefer it to work fully.
Lazy Mummy is finally going to get the right Farex today. So we'll start that tomorrow hopefully.

There were 3 SIL's there last night I think they were all having a b!tch about me going out til that time, I told my niece before I left that she is the babysitter and not to let them bully her, she is around Ash a lot, she knows how to do everything with her out how she sleeps etc I had 100% confidence. SIL's like to have their whinges about different ppl and I guess I'm this months hot topic! I'm going there again this arve for FDC xmas party, won't be talking the 3 SIL's much if I can help it...really I think it would have been 2 of them the same ones that said something about the pool. Chris says I should just get over it but **** it annoys me!

Ok i wanna rant..
Every christmas we take turns as to which family we spend christmas day with. This year it is DH's family. So we then organise another day sometime to spend with my family. DH works every second weekend & BIL is working alot through too so it limits us. The weekend before Christmas DH is off. We cant do the Saturday cos of swimming (which is the case for my niece anways too) so the Sunday was free. Well my nephew is going to a birthday party so we cant do it then (who puts a birthday party on that close to christmas anyways!!). So the only other time is not until new year as DH is working boxing day.. plus BIL works through alot of the weekends and holidays too. Ok fair enough. But mum tells me today that she is going to do a christmas party with both my sister's and brother's families next tuesday so their kids can get their Christmas presents.. (what about Jesse and Keira!!?) .. knowing too well that DH is working and we cant go, as im not driving all that way and back in 1 day with 2 kids by myself. HOW RUDE! So its ok for the party to go ahead when its ok for my sister's family and we cant make it (considering we are the ones who have to travel to them! my bro and sis live 5 minutes away) but not ok for us to have a party and my nephew to miss out cos of a birthday party??!! Like WTF! Ive always known my brother and sister were favourites in our family.. and my sister's kids and the fav grandkids.. but thats just fricken rude. So yeh im not happy at all and so glad they live so damn far away! Farrrrk them!

Both my kids are asleep! Jesse has been asleep on the lounge room floor since 10.30am.. he who gets me up at 6.15am. Keira's asleep in her rocker. So just watching Girls Of the Playboy Mansion.. damn repeats though!
MIL's coming over later to watch the kids while DH and i go shopping (once he gets home from work). So will be nice to get away from whinge for a few hours.. if its not one its the other atm.

Oh for got to say ive started Liam on farex at lunch now. He loves it. He is on 2tsp of farex and 1 of puree apples. Just loves it. Will wait 2 weeks and try potato and then wait 1 more week and try pumpkin.

OMG my MIL is sooooooooooooooo annoying, I was out & changed Jonathan cause he had done poos & went straight through his pants & my BIL was holding him & LOL he had poos on his top LOLOL I apologised for that happening but he was cool, anyway I went to change Jonathan & few minutes later my MIL was knocking at the door saying is everything ok, & I said yeah almost done, she kept knocking & knocking, I'm like just ****ing leave already. She said open the door I'm like we r coming out now so I think she must have got the hint so she left. I'm like bloody hell man, is she going to follow me everywhere I go Jonathan, seriously. She has to be the moooooooooooooooooost annoying MIL & person ever.

I'm also starting on puree apple 2m for one week, then mashed banana the next week, then potatoes, pumkin, broccoli & so on. Jonathan is liking the farex but he still pushes out his tongue just a little though. I'm not concerned.

I think if one of my kid's birthdays were that close to Christmas, i would do their party at the beginning of December. Just so that they get to celebrate, and get their party presents, seperate to Christmas, like everyone else gets to do. Just wouldnt want them missing out because they were born so close to such a big holiday.. plus then all their friends can still come.. but thats just me.

We gave Bubbablue some farex yesterday arvo cause DP wanted to give it to him first. Only screwed his face up the first couple of times then was alright with it. I got a couple photos which I'll upload later if I remember. (I'm still very forgetful as if I've still go really bad pg brain!)
I have so many questions about starting solids you'd think I've never done it before.
I've forgotten everything from DS1's baby time. It's been almost 5yrs but still I thought I'd remember at least a little.
Do you give it to them before or after a bottle?
Do you give your bubba farex in the morning/afternoon or what?
I'm sure I'll have plenty more quesitons to come to. Lol.

Tenny.. always give after a bottle as formula is most important in their diet until they are 12 months. Solids are just to get use to it iykwim. With Jesse his first lot of solids i gave during the middle of the day (say lunch time) so that if it effected him in any way i would see before he went to bed that night. But then when he started on 2 meals a day i moved the farex to breakfast and the other to either lunch or dinner. If i was starting a new food he would have it at lunch so again could see if it effected him. So by the time he was having 3 meals it was Farex for breakfast, fruit for lunch and vegies for dinner. But again always after the bottle. If you find hes too full straight after the bottle.. leave the solids for 1/2 an hour and then give them to him.
No i didnt say anything back to her, though now i wish i did.. but when it comes up again i will be. Yeh i know. I dont know what has changed in my mum since Jesse was born but man she aint the same person no more.

Yeah, we gave his first solids yesterday about an hour and a half after his bottle, I think.. when we got home from the shopping. I might keep doing the middle of the day thing thought. That's a good idea. I've never thought about it like that like in case something happened. The middle of the day suits me better anyways since I like to give him his first bottle laying in bed with me anyways. hehehe.
I can't believe your mum is like that. I hardly see my mum. I thought once I moved into my own place she'd be around to see me and the boys, but so far nadda and she def. doesn't see us in the school holidays either. It's not my loss though. It's hers!
I'm thinking we're teething again. I mentioned before I thought he was last week but then dismissed it, but I'm pretty sure he's started now. In a way I can't wait for those cute little toothiepegs to show themselves but then I don't want them to. :P

We're on 3hourly feeds here and lately he hasn't finished all his bottles. Maybe he had this HUGEEEEEEE SUPER DUPER growth spurt and now he's going back to normal. He's such a porky. He's my little porkypie!

Search BLS on the forums here - they have great information - its just basically no pureed food, and no spooning, letting the child feed themselves fingers of fruits and vegies, so they determine what they put in their mouths and how much - not shovelled in by someone else who wants them to eat - if you know what I mean? I'm not saying this is the right way to approach feeding - this is just the right way for us ya know?
And yeah we will be moving if I get this job. I'll be working full time and DH will be staying at home with the kids and getting business on the side and probably working at nights too stackin shelves or something (works out better if I get this job cos its paid maternity leave)

Tenny Ive always given Liam puree apples with his farex. He doesnt seem to pull face when I do but have given it to him with out apple too and he pulls faces. I know they dont really know the difference but I have always put apples in babies farex. Thats just me. Always give formular first hun. I give Liam his bottle say between 7-9 then 1/2 later his farex and so on with the lunch and dinner one. Bottle first.

Party went good on Sunday, only 1 of the offendig SIL's was there (her party) and she said they were "concerned" as I had said Ash will probably wake about 9.30-10pm for a feed and when I wasn't there they thought she would be hungry. Anyway its over with now.
Kell: Ash has been getting a little attitude lately too, poor thing its cause of her teeth though....I gave her bonjella for the first time yesterday and she fell asleep straight away. OMG @ your mother! especially since your bro and sis are only 5mins away! She should work it around you! Our money went in today too, think its going straight on the credit card though :(
Its a busy time for everyone, I'm guessing thats why its so quiet. I have finished all my xmas shopping...thank god cause the shops are gettin crazy!!! Just have to go to the post office today to post xmas cards and a present and I am done!
Its a bit cooler this morning so we could play outside until about 11am, lately its been too hot by 9am! Sunday morning it was already 30 degrees at 8am! I have now hooraaayyy finished our Christmas shopping woooohooo! Apart from FIL but DH has to figure out what to buy yet. Got Jesse his Brum car.. hes gonna love it when he sees it. Picked up our Wii! woo! So will be having a crack at that tonight with DH once kiddies are in bed. Bought a few games for it too. Bought some clothes for the kids as Kmart is 40% off kids clothes atm!! BIG saving!
Keira's KK arrived today! OH the little top and shorts are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! A big THANK YOU to our KK person!!! Absolutely love it! Cant wait to go out again so i can dress her in it and take some photos! Thank you so much again! You have great taste! :D

Hope we had a great day today. I just went to k-mart just look around. Jolnathan is doing really well with his solids. I gave him puree apple yesterday & will be continiung for one week then i'll be giving him pumpkin one week, & other veggies. This question is for anyone Do we have to add fruit in with the farex or can we give farex to babies on it's own? I give Jonathan 4-6 months pear & banana farex in the morning, then in the afternoon i give him puree apple. Is this ok wat i'm doing? I rang maternal line & they said that's fine wat i'm doing. But my friend told me to mix puree apple in with the farex so he will get used to it and also add more apple each day for one week then add pumkin to the farex for one week and so on??? I think i'm doing ok my way & like i said the nurse said it's fine, any opinions will great thanx :) Oh my friend also told me to give jonathan the plain farex but i couldn't find it, i only found like i said 4-6 months start farex.

I'm sure other girls here will give u more advice, you can always call 24 hr maternal line.

Mez.. yeh you can start on potato or veg.. or fruit. I think most just start on farex as its similar to their formula so easier for them to get use to the texture iykwim. But yeh when introducing a vegetable, stick to the same one for at least 4 days.. same goes for any new ones introduced.. so that you can watch for any reaction to it. Happy solids :)
Tasia.. honey you can do what you want really. I never added fruit with any of Jesse's farex. I think towards the end i did with his cereal (when he went up to the next stages). But Jesse never liked the apple for a long while. But what youre doing sounds right to me hun. Listen to people's advice but you dont always have to take it.. and theres no rush. Just take your time with it, let him get use to it all, find out what he likes and doesnt like.. thats what solids at this age really are for, for them to get use to new tastes.. and just have fun. I dont think theres any right or wrong.. just make sure you give at least 4 days inbetween introducing a new fruit or veg to watch for any reactions. Youre doing a great job hun ;)

kel- thanx sweety, yeah i will do it for 4 days. Once i have tried him eating other veggies on it's own i was thinking of adding potatoes & pumpkin together & see how he goes, after he has done the individual stuff iykwim.

Mel - Oh wow. That's interesting and a great idea for starting foods. I feel like such a fool for not even knowing what it is. We start with farex and purees then when he can hold the finger foods properly he'll be right into those.. and if he's anything like his brother was it'll be for the best. DS1 was such a fussy eater when he was little.. still kinda is but if he's hungry he'll eat whatever I give him or have a piece of fruit since there is always fruit here. I'm such a mean mummy. :P
WOW. Your job sounds great. I really hope you get it! Alvin and the Chipmunks is a cool movie. It'll always remind me of my labour with Bubbablue cause I had that to watch that night he was born. Lol.
Kell - YAY for getting your Wii. I hope you have a great time testing it out. DP and I are bad, we got Elijah a portable dvd player and we tested it out before I wrapped it. How naughty of us. It's reallllllllllly good too. How's your little miss going with the teething?

Mez - I hope your DD feels better soon. Bubbablue still has a tiny bit of a cough from his flu from the other week. The colds and flus seem to just hanggggg around so long. It's awful. I hope you and DH don't get it either.

Thank you all so much for answering my dumb questions about solids. I thought all this would come flooding back to me from when Elijah was a baby but it's not really. Yesterday when I gave him the farex straight after his first bottle I was thinking it wasn't the same as what we did with Elijah but I couldn't remember how it all worked. Lol. Today i moved it to the middle of the day and it worked out better for me cause I wasn't all doing housework and trying to get Elijah's breakfast at the same time, etc etc.

Today we had Santa photos. We thought Bubbablue was going to cry but once he was distracted he was right and smiled away... Elijah on the other hand wasn't in the mood but we did manage to get a decent smile out of him by the end. I would put it on here for you guys to see but I don't know where our scanner is or if the cords are all with it. :dunno:
Teething is going okay here so far. The days are full or whinges and clingyness, but so far the nights haven't been disrupted. I've got everything crossed the nights stay that way too. The bonjella seems to be helping somewhat sometimes. I'm also hoping he's a fast teether like Elijah was, and I was when I was little too. :pray: :pray:

It's a quiet day for us here. It's raining, but I still managed to wash and dry the clothes on the line this morning before it started to pour so YAY!
I haven't seen our Santa photo yet, but DP picked it up and says it's really gooooood.

I can't believe it's so close to Christmas already. This week is going so fast and I have no idea why. Our Bubbas will be having their first christmas next week. It's soooo exciting!!!!

We put her in the jolly jumper before.. she loved it.. was crackin up at DS and me.. sooo cute.. hehe.. then DS wanted a turn and cracked it when I said he couldnt' go in there cos its for babies.. lol.. he understood after I said he could go outside on the slide and bubby couldnt - cos he's a BIG boy.. tanty over...think I'm getting used to this mothering jazz..
Met up with another BB member today - was cool!! Pity DS spent most of the time on me cos he was a little bit shy!!!

My BIL & SIL's cafe is looking great! Opens 27th Dec. It is in the Botanic Gardens where the new Aviation centre has just opened and right next to Bert Hinkler House (if you don't know who Bert Hinkler is, he flew a tiny plane somewhere for the 1st time and landed in Bundy I think...sorry I should know). I took 188 photos of the cafe, Hinkler house, aviation centre, train, feeding ducks, turtles and eel and of the playground....Then helped with unpacking and cleaning etc in the cafe.
I came home to find our last goldfish (one died last week) at the bottom of the tank and limp but it was still alive so I put it in a bucket with a little salt and clean water, gave it its "last meal" then went out for a swim, I got back expecting it to be dead but its looking pretty good, it might live another day! Maybe I should become a fish Dr LOL wish I had of thought of it for the other fish. Anyway I should have been off here ages ago. Miss Ash has decided to wake at 5am or earlier for a feed and then screams/talks etc so I can't go back to sleep....I've been too spoilt!

I just finished feeding Ash, now I am expressing. I have my work xmas party on Saturday and it goes from midday til night!! Bit inconvienient for me but...its not all about me :rolleyes: I forgot that Ashlea will need to feed in that time that I'm away from her haha.....I will try to sneak out and feed her when I can. This will also be the first time someone else has fed her, even though she had bottles in the early days, I wouldn't let anyone feed her.
Not very successful, got less than 20ml...I did just finish feeding though so might try in the morning.
