Tan.. lol yes you were up late last night! Oh good stuff on Ash enjoying her swim!! Oh Jesse loves his yogurt too.. that and banana smoothies are his favourite and he would eat every meal if i let him. But theres not much past that he will eat. Hope he changes this habit soon though :rolleyes:

Mel.. oow ill have to think about getting our jolly jumper out sometime for Keira. Thats good A understands like that.
Have a guy coming to fix the exhaust in our ensuit this morning, might bake DH his chocolate cake he wants, then Keira has her 4 month needles this arvo. MIL is coming over to watch Jesse here as no idea what time DH will be home from work, looks like will be a hot day. Ran out of sticky tape last night... just when i got everything that needed wrapping out and ready to go.. always the way!

Morning folks... been MIA for the last few days... really busy and having a very frustrating week....like for example I wanted to pick up some photos I have on display in a cafe in the city cause I wanted to give one to MIL as a Xmas present... well, the cafe has been sold and the new owner claims he owns the pics and won't give them back to me. Then I go to ring my friend (another lawyer) and our home phone battery is flat, and the mobile has been disconnected.... mobile is still disconnected three days later, now I need to go out and I would like to do last night's dishes first but I can't because the sink is blocked again so yeah it has been that kind of a week.:wall:
Tan - great news on Ash's swim - it's so cute! can't wait to see pics. Finally got some headbands... the Bear has announced he doesn't like headbands so I guess she will be wearing them when he's not around.
Kel, Kristy, Missy glad you had a great time at Kristy's Christmas party! Photos??

Kell - that is so cool that you all had a great time at Kristy's Christmas party. Do you have any pics for us to see?? Woohoo on the GHD I love mine and if it ever died on me I would replace it ;) What a bummer on the sticky tape it's always the way though... I've run out of ribbon :doh:
Tannis - Yep the weather here in Melb at the moment is crap no wonder we are all getting colds. Yay on Ash going swimming I'll have a look at your pics on FB after this.
Pixie - oh that's not very fair about you not being able to get the photos from the cafe. You have had a bad week hey hopefully it gets better for you. I too haven't bought any headbands for Izzy cause my DH doesn't like them either :(
Missy - :clap: well done to Melissa on doing so well at her dance concert. Did you get any photos??
Well Izzy is getting better I think still has a blocked nose but we are getting there. Oh and she is rolling all the time now :dance: when ever we put her down she just rolls it's great.

Me - well got a toothache that ISN'T going away and I'm on major painkillers - which I hate taking cos it binds me up :redface: And then I'm in pain if I go to the toilet.. lol
Anyhoo - need sleep.. bit hungover from the codeine and I'm at work - so I should probably go do some..work... yeah... hmmm.. work...

Jonathan got up twice last night, the first time he got up 2.15am I put bonjela on him & he fell asleep but didn't last long he woke up again at 3.15am & I gave him a bottle he slept right through till 7.30am.
Mary- That is great that Izzy is rolling over. Good luck with the potatoes 2d, let us know how it goes :)
Mel- You poor thing I know how u feel. I hope u get better soon :hug:

Hi all - just a really quick one from me =) Letting you all know I'm still alive
Still unpacking boxes - getting there slowly but surely. Not too much left to go. We even managed to cook dinner in the kitchen here the past couple of nights!!
We bought Alyssa a box of huggies crawler nappies to see if she fits them yet. They're still way too big for her, but they're here for when she needs them!! Has anyone noticed on some of the new designed nappies there a pic of what looks like Pooh pole dancing? Will post a pic of one later if I remember. It's hilarious!!
Anyways - waves to all and back to unpacking boxes for me!!! Hope everyone is doing well or things are improving for those that need it (BIG hugs, Pix!!)

do u have to add potatoes, pumpkin with formula? when can they start having them on it's own?

Tasia.. oh yep totally they can have potato it on its own but just may be a little dry iykwim? Even can add a little water if need be. Pumpkin yeh i dont add anything as it kinda holds its moisture when cooked unlike potatoes. I just meant if you were to make it as you normally make mash potato dont use cows milk until theyre about 8 or 9 months i think it is, use either formula/breastmilk or water. A quick and easy way to do pumpkin is just to microwave it! Works a treat.. turns it nice and soft.

kel- yeah i know wat u mean. I perfer to add water to the potatoes only because i don't want him getting used to formula on foods. wat about broccoli, how do swe do that?

Yeh i think the only reason they suggest using formula at first is because thats what they are most use to. Makes them able to palet the new flavours and textures easier if they have formula. I dont think they will get dependant on forumula on food.. depends how you use it. Its really just a substitute for when youd normally use cows on your own foods like cereal and mash. But doesnt mean you have to do it that way, just suggestions. Broccoli holds alot of moisture still too. I would just over cook it until its nearly falling apart and then blend it in a blender until almost puree. Add a little water from the water you cook it in if you need to. Same with all other vegies.

Kel - I can't BELIEVE he is actually eating... I've changed my way of thinking and I think its working... so far so good anyway - he even ate some pizza last night (which isn't the healthiest, but it had pineapple on it.. lol)

Anastasia - I think I started adding cows milk to Aricyn's breakfast when he was about 8 or 9 months old.

Kell - Those photos are so adorable. I think Jesse and Keira look so much alike. :P YAY! for your hair straightener. I need a new one. I haven't straightened my hair in so long. I really couldn't be bothered cause it's so long. I'm so lazy. Haha. No teeth breaking through yet but they're so right just under there. I feel them everyday to see if they've actually come through. Hehehe.
SW - I haven't seen the new huggies pictures. I can't wait to see it when/if you post it. Sounds.. interesting. Lol. Wooohooo at finally being able to cook dinner in the kitchen.
Tan - YAY Ash for her first swim. I'm hoping the weather is nice here next week and we can get out for a swim. It's been so hot and cold here. Good luck with the expressing.

Whingy, clingy boy. Far out. He won't even keep the dummy in his mouth. He just takes it out and holds it in his hand so he can whinge some more.
I wish I had the Baby Bjorn here so I could carry him instead of holding him but silly me left it in the car.

Anastasia - we didn't give it to him to drink before he was one - but a teeny tiny bit on weetbix is acceptable - apparently! I couldn't be bothered mixing up a tiny bit of formula for that amount of weetbix - felt like I was wasting far too much of it (ie mixing up 60ml or whatever for the little 10ml of liquid needed.. lol)

ETA - anastasia - I think, from memory, when I was doing stuff for DS, I would just cook it and then puree it, I didn't need to add water or anything. For fruits and vegies. I didn't really get into the farex stuff cos he HATED it...

Tenny- I've been trying to up grade my ticker but everytime I do it, it says the photo is too large & i don't know how to shorten it hmm.

Anastasia - its likely that the file size of the pic is too large. If you don't have photo shop to resize the pic - when you are in the viewer program - see if it has the option to send by email - they usually downsize the pic for you - and then just save it as that size. If that makes sense? So since I don't have photoshop on the crappy laptop - this is what I do to resize my pics. Then I just save it from the attachment on an email to the desktop and rename it with a .jpg on the end of its name. Make sense?

Well I tried the potato on Izzy, she did well didn't eat it all but all good she started to gag in the end so stopped giving it to her. Will try again tomorrow. I didn't use formula in the potato just used my blender to puree it. I have put the remainder in my ice container and it's in the freezer.
Mel - I hope you feel better soon.
Tenny - you poor thing I know how you feel izzy since we have gotten back from Sydney has only been having 30 mins catnaps which I'm not happy about. I want her to sleep longer but I can't even resettle her :doh:
Well my little princess has stopped screaming and playing with her Minnie mouse so I think I'll fold the clothes.

Tasia.. you dont have to add formula with anything. I was just saying with mash potato (not sure how you make it) but when we're making it for us as a family we add milk to make it creamier. I just mean if you were to do the same with potato for bubs not to use cows milk, to use formula or water. Potato and farex/cereal is the only thing i add formula to. No other vegies. And I wouldnt add it to fruit as its likely to make it curdle. No worries hun about the questions.. if you dont ask youll never know ;)
Yep i did the same as Mel with Jesse with cows on his cereal/potato from 8 months (same time you can start weetbix). Not to drink though.
Tenny.. Thanks hun. Yep i think Keira will be a little girl version of Jesse when shes older.. which will be very cute. I hear ya with the clinginess!!!!!!

Hey girls...
OMG it is so hot!! Even after my late night I got up at 6am, fed Ashlea, showered, ate, got Jayden ready for day care and was in the car by 8.30am. At day care Jayden told me to stay and not to leave him...unusual but Ashlea was in the car and I had to go so I left. SIL called me at about 11am to say he had a temp (not sure what as her thermometer wasn't working) and he had just gone to sleep. I got over there about 1pm and he was awake on the couch and was hot as anything despite the cold washer on him. I gave him some Dymadon which seems to have dropped the temp a bit and is now asleep again. Poor bub, I feel horrible that I left him this morning when he asked me not too. I asked him if he felt sick this morning and he said yes (whether he did or not though :dunno:). I wanted to go swimming again this arve but think we'll be giving it a miss.

I think windows has some built it apps that will allow resizing of images. If you want to use something like photoshop but don't want to shell out the HUGE amount that it costs, download gimp. It is completely free, does what photoshop does, and absolutely ROCKS. You can run it on windows or mac (and Linux!!)
It is very simple to resize an image in gimp - just open the image, click the image menu, select "scale image" or "scale canvas", then input the size that you want to scale it down to. Also very simple to crop and do other things like that.
And I'm (mostly) always happy to provide tech support for Gimp if peeps are willing to wait for answers for the next time I have a chance to look at my email ;)

Back from Keiras needles.. she did fine.
Just yelled at my mum. Feel kinda weird as ive never let rank at her before. Am glad i did but still kinda feel weird. Just about them having Christmas without us. Told her how its upset me that me and my kids are going to miss out. She said oh we'll still have it in the new year.. i said yeh but you will have already done the presents and everything. She said well its my SIL who organised it. I said SO WHAT! She said that SIL and my brother are pi$$ed off that i couldnt make it for my niece's 1st birthday. I said yeh because DH was working and im not driving all that way with 2 kids in 1 day to have no one help me up there look after them. She said what do you mean about not helping whenever youve needed help we've come to you. I said yeh right i needed your help when Jesse was sick and you were too busy. She said well we've always come to you since Keiras been born.. i said yeh cos i cant look after 2 kids by myself (in a non child proofed house) 24/7 while im up there, no one helps me and i said theres no where to sleep both kids as theres only 1 portacot and Jesse's still in a cot. She just agreed with that (????). Then she said and whos fault is that Kelly. I was like what the F??? Oh i bit my tongue then! She then just said well dont get angry at me im in the middle here. I said yeh but SIL ISNT MY FAMILY! She said well you are the one who lives in Windsor. I said so now its my fault for living so far away thats what its about. She said well no but you could come up here when DH is off. I said yeh i wanted to this weekend but nephew has a party. She said my sister said that we could still have it. I said well you never told me that. She said why should nephew have to miss out.. i said why should Jesse and Keira miss out!? She then kept saying oh i didnt organise it, it was SIL. I said well you tell SIL that im p!ssed and upset that she has excluded me and my family from HER get together with MY FAMILY! Then she kept saying oh well SIL and brother are p!ssed at me for not going to niece's birthday. Eh i said well i better go cos ive had enough of this conversation and i need to feed Jesse.
Man im shaking after that. Ive never gone phsyco like that at her or really anyone much. Im glad i got it out though. Im sick of having to bite my tongue and letting it all eat at me. Anyways.. who knows if we'll talk again before Christmas.. i certainly wont be making the first phone call.
