Hi all just a quick one

Happy 8 and 9 months to our beautiful babies

    Congrats to Mez

All the baby stats are great. Have loved reading them. all babies are doing really well

Kids are well here. Hubby started a new job. Im about to start my Nail course. Melissa quite work to study more as she really wants good marks being year 10. BIL cancer is back and more of it so he is having radiation every day for 6 weeks. Mum had her op again for bowl cancer and seems to be ok. Sister is handliing things ok. Im well and just been checking on my fam. Abit worried as no one has heard from my youngest bro in a month (he is on lord howe island working) and his phone has been disconnected.

So that is us. Sorry no personasl.

    A question
has anyone turned their baby around in the car seat. Was thinking of doing it.??

Ok to everyone and hope your well

thinking of taking a trip to melb soon. So might have to have a melb meet up.
will let you know If and whne it happens

Missy sorry to hear about your BIL the treatment works, I'm sure it's pretty hard going in itself. And hopefully your younger brother will turn up he's just having too much fun to keep in touch.
We turned Beth in her car seat a few weeks ago, we weren't going to but we got the new car seat (she was too big for the capsule) and we just thought we would try it out that way round... then we never bothered trying it the other way. She loves it and TBH I love it too, now I can just look at her in the RV mirror or turn around and say hi. It's great.
Tenny & Mez (and Tenny's twin) happy birthday for next week! Mez good to hear your pg is going well and have a great holiday! Good to hear you found some swimmers so you will be looking hot on the beach!
Tan loving your photos on FB
Pink happy 8 months to gorgeous Ava
    Mel, SW - big smooch
Not much going on here, Beth has classic separation anxiety and wakes up a couple of times during the night, so between that and her urgent desire to start walking it's a bit tiring! The Bear is off at some outward bound type leadership thing (great they have to do it when there is a storm warning and its pouring rain... poor Bear) so it's just the two of us till Friday night. Other than that just the usual round of playgroup, swimming lessons, gym (when I get my act together) and MG
Lots of love to all, to everyone I've missed!

    Howdy ladies!

Just thought id pop in while im having a coffee. Busy day ahead. Jesse's at preschool so we're going to pull apart all of our beds today ready to move tomorrow and just sleep on matresses on the floor tonight. Get everything else ready to go too.

Missy.. we turned Keira around a couple of weeks ago. She was getting too tall to reface. Jesse we turned around at 6 months for the same reason and he was also too heavy for the refacing requirements.

Pixie.. oh i hear you with the seperation anxiety. Keiras very clingy atm.. and mostly just to me. She can be happy and fine.. as soon as i walk in the room wahhhhhhh.. oh the joys!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR NEXT WEEK MEZ AND TENNY!!

We will be without internet for a little while. Our internet gets disconnected here tomorrow (plus we'll be moving) and we wont have internet in the new place until about a week after the phone is connected. So will me MIA for a few weeks. Hope everyone is well and has a good few weeks. Will see you all when i check in from our new place!!!
    Take care!

    Morning all

Missy - sorry to hear about your BIL - hope he recovers well and that the treatment works.

Pixie - you do sound busy - more busy than me anyway.. haha

Kell - good luck moving!!!! You have my mobile if you need to text for any BB goss.. haha

On the subject of turning seats around. Nope. Not doing it. After watching that video that was on the forums here - nope no way buckeroo!! She's like that till she's one. Even though her legs are long and they touch the seat and make her knees bend up a little - she doesn't complain and we wouldnt turn her if she did!! haha

But I'm a mean mummy.. and we all know that..

    Heya.

    Happy 8 months cutiepie Mehkelti!

Mez - Yay! for finding bathers. I always have trouble finding ones I like. I'm fusssssy. Yep, another year flew by.

    Missy
    - I'm sorry to hear about your BIL's cancer. I hope the treatment works. I'm glad your mum's op went well and she seems to be okay.

Pixie - We've got some seperation anxiety here too. It's not so bad when we're at home at the moment, if he's distracted then it's all good for a little bit. hehe. When we're at someone elses place then he just follows me around whinging saying mum and starts to cry if he can't see me at all.
I hope Beth's sleeping gets better for you. She's a little goer with her walking. She's going fantastically!!!

Kell - Good luck with the move. I hope it all goes smoothly and there aren't too many hassles. Take care

Mel - You're not a mean mummy!!! I actually feel like a mean mum alot lately, but hey someone has to bthat role. Lol. Cute video on FB too. I loved it!

    Carseats:
We haven't turned him around in our car yet. We'll wait until he reaches the weight limit, then spin him around. The other older chair we use in my sister's car is forward facing now though, as he reached the weight limit, the little chubba.
I too watched that video too, Mel. It opened my eyes up, that's for sure.

    As for us:
DS1 is doing really well with school. His attitude isn't half as bad as it was there a few weeks ago. He's doing fantastically with his reading too. I'm so proud of him.
Now he just needs to work on not being the boss of everyone and thinking he knows everything. :P
Haydie's day sleeps are a bit out of whack this week, so I'm hanging out for DP to finish work every day this week.

It's raining here today. It's so relaxing. Have a great day!

Thankyou for the kind words for my BIL ladies.

What about this vid. Did I miss some thing??

Mez: Yay on the bathers!! I hate looking for them these days!

Missy: Sorry to hear about your BIL again, I hope everything goes ok with his treatment. I'm glad your mum is going good after her op! Ohh I wish I was going to Melb soon we could have all met up! Don't think we'll be going until xmas though.

Pix: OMG busy busy huh? Hope Beth settles at night for you soon....I'm having a similar issue tonight! Actually lately she has been waking up during the night.

Kell: How exciting about the move! Good luck! Don't be gone too long! hehe

Mel: I'm a mean mummy too.....I have a poem thing on Mean mummies, it was fantastic! I should try and find it!

Tenny: That is awesome DS1 is doing well at school already, he is probably too tired to have the attitude now haha

    RE: Carseats...

With Jayden I waited until he was of weight and not 1 gram less! He was about 7mths. I haven't seen the video but someone on BB who fits carseats (I think she works at a baby store) said 1yr is the recommendation now. Although their legs might be too long, an injured or broken leg in an accident is better than the alternative....That was enough for me to be convinced.

Now on to WHY we are up at this ungodly hour!!! Ash woke at 1.15am, not too unusual lately. fed her and put her back to bed not long after she's sitting up playing in her cot and being VERY vocal! A couple of feeds later still not sleepy, she is almost hypo!! Hmmm could be the fruit n nut chocolate I had earlier!!?? Anyway she has been watching tv since 2.15am and now getting whingy. I have eaten the rest of the chocolate so I'm too scared to feed her again . We are going to Hervey Bay in the morning and so far I've had just over an hours sleep......Oooo I think she is going to sleep now!! Least she's let me catch up on BB LOL

Just thought id pop in for one last visit lol.

Re the car seat.. yeh Keiras legs were bent up for a while but also she was too tall for the harness. With out car seat it says you have to use the insert for rear facing which only has 2 heights for the harness. Plus shes also at the weight requirements to turn around.

Tan.. hope you have a lovely time at Hervey Bay!! lol silly Ash.. maybe she was too excited about going away

Tenny.. oh thats wonderful to hear Elijah is doing alot better. How are you feeling hun?

Well just a short one. Have mostly everything packed. Picking the truck up at 8am and am dropping the kids off at Kristy's. Shes so wonderful.

See you all soon.. take care

Just a quick "hi!", update and comment on the car seats:

I also saw the post from the person who worked at the baby store, then did some research of my own into it as I previously had just assumed we'd turn Alyssa as soon as her weight allowed. Having googled it and read a few bits and pieces, there's no way in hell I'd turn her until we absolutely have to. She would be happier to face forward, and it would be a heck of a lot easier than lifting her into the rear facing seat, but I'd prefer the hassle to the alternative. I'm with Mel in the being a mean mummy thing

The video that Mel referred to is here: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ard-video.html and I'll post the other thread (it was in the boohoo room a few months back) if I can find it.

The basic gist of it was rear facing in accidents can cause broken legs and the likes - but the baby is still very well supported, front facing in accidents can cause broken necks, severed spinal cords, etc as the head snaps back and forward on a neck not yet strong enough to allow for that type of impact.

I'm not saying that anyone else does things right or wrong - but for me, personally, there was no thought required. The safety of my girl comes first.

Hope our mummies-to-be(again)s are doing well!! Still very excited for you guys =)

Pixie - LOVE the vids of Beth =) Clever cookie. Hugs!!

Missy - hope new jobs/courses/etc all go well for you and yours. Wishing all the best to your extended family - that's a lot of stress to go through

Tenny - love the pics of your boys - they're just SOOOO adorable!!

    Tan/Mel - love ya!!

    Waves to everyone else.

Us: Sleeping is getting a little better - she's going to bed earlier now. 10pm for the past week, and with the end of DLS she was happily asleep by 9 tonight!! Although the earlier nights have brought about an extra night feed, so am usually up at about 2am, then again at 7, then she sleeps until about 10.
I'm having *some* difficulty with food. She has NEVER accepted mushy food, so no rice cereals, mashed potato, pumpkin, pureed apples, etc. One spoonful, max. Went straight for finger foods, chews, sometimes gags, almost always spits out. Even now we have never gotten her to eat an entire meal - although rarely gags now and swallows bits and pieces. She seems very happy on breast milk!! On the bright side, we have gotten her to try a HUGE array of foods and know that she doesn't have a reaction to pretty much anything but dairy (brings on the eczema). So we're working through that, and having a little more success every day with getting her to eat more. I'm really hoping we can get her to have whole meals soon as I'm petrified of going back to work after her first birthday and having my child starve for the day until she can be with me again!!

Development wise. She stands unassisted (without holding anything), walks along the furniture and swaps between the couches (although if she's in a hurry she gets down and crawls!!). She's very confident and loves to explore - she leaves me all the time to go off and look at something in a different room, although she gets VERY clingy if I get up and walk ANYWHERE (even within the same room). Yesterday she started clapping on her own, and now claps on command with "clap your hands!" or if you sing "if you're happy and you know it" or when you play the chicken dance music to her! She was waving on command, but has since given that up and only waves hello to the cats anytime we get home from an outing. She says mama and dada, although her first word was meow (and she uses it often to converse with Linden). She loves playing take-turn style games where she will perform an action and then wait for you to copy it before she does it again. Sometimes she'll play in reverse where she copies you. She dances to some music - especially when we put her in front of the piano where she can play her own music and dance to it. She loves to poke things with her index finger. She loves to sing along with the radio in the car until she falls asleep. AND she has a definite preference for doing things left handed - pediatric physio MIL says kids are usually a lot older before they have a preferred handedness, but even she thinks Alyssa is gonna be a lefty!! Chris and I are both right handed, but we both have parents or grandparents who are lefties.

On the non-baby front, we've got all of our selections for the house build done. We're a bit afraid of what the excess cost for the kitchen will be as we've significantly extended it and gone with top quality finishes - 2 pack high gloss finishes, thick stone benchtops, slow close mechanisms, top of the range smeg appliances etc. It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it. The application to build has been sent to council for approval, so we should start building in about 4-5 months! Our tenants move out in about 2 weeks, so we have to do things like repot the plants and remove anything that we don't want demolished within the next few weeks before the house gets knocked down =) The current house on the block has a new kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances, so we're giving the kitchen to my cousin who has just purchased an old house with a dodgey kitchen. She just needs to organise someone to come and pick it up and then install it on her end. We should hopefully be moving into our new home in about a year!

    Think that's it for us!!

    Morning lovely mummy's

SW - Wow Alyssa is really a clever girl hey, you must be so proud of her. She is gorgeous love seeing your photo updates she has grown so much, I also love her hair I bet you'll be excited once the house building begins, your kitchen sounds amazing.

Kell - I hope your house moving went well and you are all settled in. Can't wait to hear all about it once you're back online!

Tannis - I hope Ash finally fell asleep for you sweet, it could have been the chocolate you had eaten. Have a great time at Hervey Bay

Missy - I hope your BIL treatment is going well. When do you start your Beauty course?

Us - Isabel is finally sleeping thought the night but who knows how long it will last but I'm enjoying my sleep at the moment cause I'm so exhausted these days. We have decided to change her carseat after we get back from our holiday in May where she will be 9 1/2 months old. Other than that not much else happening here just cruising along as the days and weeks seem to be flying by us I mean it will be Easter on Friday wowee... How quickly is this year flying hey!

A BIG to everyone I've missed.

Hey folks, just doing a quick pop-in to say hi
Kel hope the move goes well
Mez, good to hear Izzy is sleeping through again, half your luck! We have 2 wake ups usually, but most of the time its ten minutes feed and back to bed. The other night I was so dead tired I didn't even hear her crying and the Bear brought her in to me!
Tan love the gorgeous photos of Ash on the beach.... Ash, you norty girl, stop keeping your mummy awake!
SW - mwah to you and your little livewire!
Mel - same to you and your two (and a half)
    Missy
Well our BIG news is we are going to New Zealand!!!
For two weeks, we have hired a motorhome so we are going to drive all over the place! We are picking it up in Christchurch and dropping it off in Auckland 2 weeks later... we got a great deal! soooooooooooo excited, and lots to organise but I can't wait!
No other real news here, Beth is a kamikaze baby at the moment, constantly falling over and hurting herself... pulls up on everything, tries to walk without holding on (it doesn't work) is constantly agitating for someone to hold her hand so she can go somewhere. She is grabbing at everything, wants to be picked up and as soon as I pick her up, she wants to get down again. I try to just hold one hand while she walks now, if I hold both she takes off at a run! It's exhausting!
    to all, gotta go!

SW: Thats great Alyssa is going great with the BM, food is fun until their 1 as they say. With her eczema flaring up with dairy, how does she go with you having dairy? Or are you dairy free too? I was looking in Jayden's book and he was clapping in command by this age, Ashlea isn't doing it yet....I think because I don't get as much one on one time with her than what I did with Jayden as he was doing a lot of things by now that Ash isn't. Alyssa def sounds like one adventurous (sp? can't think tonight haha) little babe! WOW I can't wait to see your new house!!

Mez: Hows bub #2 going? How long until your holiday? Hervey Bay was really good, the drive home was tiring though after 2/3hrs sleep and busy day. We didn't get home until about 8.30pm but the kids slept the whole way which was good.

Pix: YAY for your holiday, sounds awesome!! Would have been better if you were pregnant though LOL. Thats great Beth is almost walking already....I hate the crawling stage!!

No news from us I don't think.....I did think I might have been PG, only the slightest miracle chance that I could have been but I have been doing some really dumb@$$ things lately and that is a sure sign for me...I think its just sympathy symptoms for all the ppl I know who are PG LOL. Anyway AF arrived...late but still arrived and now I have gone on the mini pill so NO BABY SCARES!! I only have 5kgs to go before I am back to pre-Jayden weight so another baby right now won't help that LOL.

Well I better go to bed, Ashlea likes to wake 2 or 3 times a night lately, that and working is exhausting me.....probably should be sleeping now instead of being on the computer!

Tan I hear you on the waking up factor... its exhausting me too and I'm not even working (and I don't have another kidlet to run after). Crawling stage - what's that? LOL Beth doesn't crawl, it just doesn't occur to her as a way to get around....

Pixie - how exciting picking up Beth's passport it's so cool when they have one hey I hope she sleeps for you I know how you feel Izzy does it too but fingers crossed she is starting to get out of it and sleeping through again. Have a great time in NZ you'll love it we can't wait to see photos

Tannis - Is Ash teething?? cause Izzy was waking every 2 hours cause of her teeth it was very exhausting let me tell you especially since I can't sleep during the day I'm feeling good, have waves of nausea every now and then and things are starting to move around again down there and a little uncomfy but all good.

Mel - Hey sweet how are you doing?
