Sorry guys - just a real quick one from me to announce...
Danielle rolled over yesterday for the first time and she did it twice!!!!!! She was on her tummy and just lent to the side and rolled onto her back. She looked stunded and didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Then I burst into laughter and screams and she started laughing. It was so cute. Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke I put her back on her tummy and she did it again!! I called Ken straight away in so much joy!! I'm the proudest mum ever!!
Em - I tried cutting Danielle's nails with baby clippers and they just wouldn't work so I use just normal clippers. You just need to take extra care and not cut their fingers off when they move!!
Must run - busy day - the house looks like a bombs hit it and we've got a get together with the lady's at Mother's Group this afternoon. I'll do some personals later. Bye from The Proudest Mum Ever!!
Bubs - Yay for Danielle what a very clever little girl she is.
Em - The safest way to cut fingernails at this age is with a nail file, I just did Adrian`s last week. When Adrian had a cold 5 weeks ago we were told by the Clinic Nurse to use Dimetapp on him, it worked well, it`s for babies from 1 month onwards, hope Charlie is better soon.
KMH - If you google theweewuns you`ll find all about the prefolds, they are very absorbent and very easy to use, I just snappy them and put a cover over them.
Hello Mads, you must be a newbie or have I gone senile LOL I was a due to July belly bump but Adrian decided to come 12 days overdue so he`s an August bub but I love all my July girls so I`m still in here.
Cyn - You sound like your doing wonderfully being a MUmmy, well done :)
Fee - Yay for Cooper sleeping so well for you.
AJ - Sorry I can`t help you with your question regarding bottle feeding, I have never bottle fed either of my boys.
Adrian is doing well, had the clinic appointment on Monday for his 10 week check up, he`s now 7.4kg and 64cms long and according to the nurse is very advanced, I`m wondering if it`s to do with him being overcooked as she says he`s doing things he shouldn`t be doing for another 4 weeks, so I`m a happy Mummy to hear that :) He`s such a talkative little boy and so very happy, very rarely cries and when he does it`s for a good reason, had his vacs yesterday and he`s been running a very high temp so he`s not feeling his best today, I was really worried about him at 2am thought we were off to the Hospital, he was on fire but thankfully after some panadol the temp dropped a bit.
In the sleep department, Adrian has been sleeping 10 hours each night for the last 2 weeks, I`m wondering when will he start waking up again it`s too good to be true as Matthew didn`t sleep through until he was 10 months.
Hope your all well.
Take Care
Dee
hi all
Dee- how are you going? wow at adrian sleeping so long over night, i am lucky if i get 5 hours at the moment Charlotte has been going 3 1/2 - 4 hours.
Bubs- Yay for Danielle, she is cleaver, Madison started to roll about this time too.
Em- i bet you are great being at home, when i first met my mothers group i thought "great" they were talking about which church they go to and why they named there babies for christian reasons, but they are a great group of people, we still go weekly.
Well i am off to the baby expo tomorrow, and to hopefully to meet Kelly as she is there for bellybelly. I went last year and it was great.
i am trying to get Charlotte to sleep at the moment so much fun, she wont sleep in my arms so i put her to bed and she wont sleep there either and she is tried.
Hope all is well
went to sleep clinic today. they have also decided zac is a difficult baby to sleep and do what we have to. but i dont mind. it was good for someone else to see it that i was not going crazy. they are also amazed at how alert he is and how advanced he is.
Frazer - with the snotty nose it could be an allergy. i have just discovered that zac gets a snotty nose when we was our cloths in omo but if i was it in other stuff his fine.
Bubseykel - yay. its so cute to see them roll
MIL is coming to help me over the week end as i am feeling close to having a break down. the girls at mothersgroup have organised a day out tomorrow and hopefuly that will be good if the weather holds

Cooper slept through again! After my last post where he slept through on Tuesday night, I was hoping he'd do it again on Wednesday night. But he just slept until 4.00 am (10 hours between feeds).
But last night he slept through – 12 hours between feeds. 6pm to 6am. Yahooooo! That's twice in one week. I hope it becomes the norm! Please, please, please!!!
Also, Cooper has improved so much at tummy time. In just two weeks the difference is amazing!!! He can lift his head so much and lifts his feet up at the same time. Maybe he will roll soon?!
Here are some pics of his improvement:

Yesterday for some reason Cooper wouldn't stay wrapped for his day sleeps and therefore only had three 1 hour naps over the day. So weird because the day before just one of his naps was 3 hours!!! So yeah not sure why he kept getting out of his wrap – I was doing it the same as always. I'm really liking wrapping again (just for day sleeps). It has helped so much with the length of his sleeps. Hopefully yesterday was just a weird day for him. He was a bit fussy at the boob too. Anyway here is a pic of him at his last nap of the day – little Houdini!
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4325.jpg
kmh – Wow Charlotte has grown a lot in 2.5 weeks. Yay for Charlotte!
Boisey – You sound sooooo happy! That's so great. Don't you just love the smiles and goos our bubs give us now. It is definitely heart melting stuff!
Mads – Freya is so so cute in your ticker pic. And wow she is a big girl!
Fraser – Gosh look at Charlie's chubby cheeks in your ticker pic! Hehehe how sweet. Sorry to hear you haven't connected with anyone at your Mother's Group. Is that one organised through the clinic?
About fingernails … I tried baby clippers once but they were hopeless. I use little nail scissors – they are so much easier. I do it after a feed when Cooper is a little bit more relaxed although he still wiggles a lot!
Bubseykel – Yay for Danielle! That's so amazing. What a clever girl.
Deejoy17 – Sounds like Adrian is doing fabulously. Yay for him being advanced! What sort of things does he do?
chantal25 – Did the sleep clinic give you any tips?
baiza – Congrats on your weight loss. That's fantastic.
fee - no tips from the clinic - they just said to keep doing what we are doing and that it looks like Zac is just not a day sleeper.
KMH - i am still only getting between 2-5 hours at night. most i have had is 6 and that was before he got sick
sorry i am not on msn but it crashes my computer.
Hi girls,
Just gotten back from the doctor's with Danielle - she has conjunctivitis - lovely!! They think she picked it up from the creche at the gym. So no gym for me until it clears up as they won't take her for obvious reasons.
Fee - Danielle had a weird day yesterday. She woke at 5.30am when Ken or I weren't even up yet so she had a feed and a play and by 7am she was tired again so I put her back to bed and she slept until 10.15am! But for the rest of the day it was only hour long sleeps. At least I got time to do my housework. Last night was 7.30pm to 6.30am which was the longest she's slept over night too.
Baiza - congrats on your weight loss!! Keep up the good work!! Since changing over to my digital scales about 3 weeks ago I've lost 2.5kgs but I think I've put on a bit of muscle from the gym but I look heaps better already. I refused to buy a pair of size 16 jeans so I worked hard and now I'm back in my pre pregnancy jeans and even my 3/4 jeans are starting to be a bit on the big side that I have to pull them up all the time. I was wondering about the MSN chat room. I've been on there most days and no one has been on there. I thought I was missing something!
Chantal - I'm glad you sort of sorted things out with Zac. I'm sure you are doing a great job.
Kel - have fun at the baby expo - I bet you will!!
Dee - Adrian is a big boy isn't he! Danielle was 'undercooked' and she's still a big girl but it takes all sorts to make this world go round. I keep saying she's chunky like her mum -hehehe - hopefully not for much longer. Danielle has her second dose of needles on Thursday - not looking forward to that at all. Do they get easier as they get older?
I think I've decided to go back to work for a couple of days a week. Mum said she would look after Danielle on those days as I refuse to put her into daycare and I like the one on one attention that we can give her. I just don't want to go back and find out I hate it and wish I didn't do it.
Danielle hasn't rolled again. I've been playing with her and putting her on her tummy but with no luck. She's trying to as I can see her pushing off with her arms but just hasn't tipped over. Yesterday she did almost roll from her back to her belly. During her Nuddy Time she was on her back, swung her legs over and rolled her shoulders so she was 3/4 of the way but didn't pull her shoulder out so she could continue over so she rolled onto her back again.
I'm off now - trying to decide what to do - watch Gilmore Girls, Grease or go outside and start moving some bits and pieces around for the start of our back patio reno. Have a great weekend everyone!!
hey how is everyone going,
i went to the expo yesterday and could of spent lots, i brought a sun shade tent for Charlotte that can be zipped up so no bugs can get into it, i really wanted to buy a baba sling, though the lady who sells them is from QLD andis selling them at a market that i will be going to so i think i will buy it up there, i am just looking on ebay for them.
i am still only getting about 4 hours over night between feeds, hopefully on Monday it will be longer as we go and get her tounge fixed on Monday so hopefully she will feed for longer too.
Well no time for personals sorry, i have lots of housework to do and them i am off too an engament party tonight.
Also my BIL just got engaged last night.
Hey girlies
Well I went to the baby expo today at Jeffs shed and it was packed, I went with my girlfriend who is expecting in March and her hubby and my Dylan of course we looked at some things but basically we both wanted a hugabub, she wanted a mountain buggy and a high chair so we all got what we went there for. I only spent $100 which was on the hugabub but if I had really looked around properly I bet I would have spent more, LOL.
KMH I have a Baba sling which I am thinking of selling, would you buy a second hand one? I haven't quite decided if I want to sell it but I want to try out my hugabub first and see if I love it before I sell my baba sling. It is black and has been used about a 5 or 6 times.
Fee Yay for Cooper's tummy time and LOL at him being Houdini. I had stopped wrapping Dylan at night and had been using the sleeping bags but I have started again as he is quite unsettled, so I am using muslin too and I took your suggestion at wrapping him during the day and making the room a bit dark and that helps Dylan have longer day naps sometimes. The best day naps he has are in the pram or car and I am hoping the hugabub will help too. Yay for Cooper sleeping through, I have managed to get 9 hours out of Dylan and that was of sleep it would have been 10 and a half hours between feeds (took me an hour and a half to settle him). I also started using Gaia about three weeks ago and at the same time one of our cats came home and I started using Lux Flakes in the wash so the MCHN said it could be one of them that caused it. I have stopped using the Gaia on Dylan cos I think it was that I have been using it as a shower gel cos I don't want to waste it. I am now using QV bath oil and sorbolene on his skin to get rid of the dryness. He doesn't seem too irritated.
Bubsey Sorry that Danielle has conjuctivitis I have had that and it is yuck. It is great that your mum can mind Danielle I wish I had that too but my mum works full time.
Baiza Execellent that you have lost 3.5kg my wieght is slowly slowly dropping off.
Dee Wow Adrian is a big boy, Dylan is 14 weeks this Monday and when he was weighed last Tuesday he was 5.7kg and 61.5cm long so he is tall and slim like his daddy. The MCHN said he was below average in weight and average in height. In his first few weeks he was above average in both, who knows?
Fraser Yay for Charlie sleeping so long. I am still able to bite Dylan's nails and I used baby clippers on him once and cut him so I am not game to use them again, when his nails get too hard I will use a nail file.
Mads I have stopped beating myself up over the eczema thing as I know I just have to look after his skin and it is not my fault but it is hard not to blame yourself when things happen to your little one. My AF returned on the 30th of September also which was exactly a year since my last one started weird huh I too thought I would not have it for much longer due to breastfeeding oh well. Freya is just gorgeous in your signature.
Boisey Enjoy the Cox plate and I am sure Jensen will be fine with your mum but it is hard to leave them. DFO has a few baby stores like Pumpkin Patch and a couple of others. I got a heap of 00 clothes for Dylan from Pumpkin Pathc and they all had $5-$8 off the normal price which is ok even though I think PP is quite exxy anyway but I quite like the clothes.
Anyway that was a long post. I have my mothers group at my place this week so I have been madly cleaning as my house is so yuck you wouldn't know my hubby wasn't working with the state of the house. Anyway I may go to bed as DH out and Dylan sleeping for at least a few more hours.
cassie- how much do you want for you sling? i am interested if you are wanting to sell it.
let me know.
i went to the engament party last night, it was so cold, Charlotte was good though, today we are off to mums at madison is staying there for a few nights as charlotte as her op on her tounge tomorrow (i am not looking forward to it)
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
hi all - hope all is going well for you.
MIL is helping me out this weekend. lots of suggestion about zac but i have started my own ways. but on the plus side she has helped so much with the cleaning. i have not been able to clean for 10 months (could not stand up for more then 2 minutes when i was pregnate and now zac is very full on) so now i have a clean kitchen. MIL took dh and zac for a walk and i was able to clean lounge room and bathroom.
Zac had some tummy time yesterday to show MIL what he can do. we had him on his playmat and he decided he did not want to stay on the play mat. he pushed off with his legs and tried to crawl!!! but he has not got the hang of picking up his arms at the same time and did a face plant on the mat. but he still kept going. we had to stop him and put him on his back when he got off his mat and onto the carpet so he didnt get carpet burn on his face. but have to be careful now as it looks like in the next few weeks he will be able to fool from his back to his belly. he is almost there now but just cant quite make it.
will pm next time have a good day
hi all
i have been up since 4:45am this morning, I had to feed Charlotte at that time as she has to fast before we head off to the hospital this morning, i thought it was not really worth me trying to go to back to sleep only to be woken up 45 mins later. She had a good feed so hopefully that will tied her over until her op this morning, we are first on the list at 8:30, so hopefully no emergency's come in.
I hope that we will not be there too long, but the nurse who called me last night said sometimes they need to stay over night. Madison is at mums last night and tonight so i am missing her.
i will let you all know how it turns out when i get back on. Hopefully Charlotte will feed better too. Wish us luck.
Hey Kelly - I hope it goes swimmingly with Charlotte at the hospital - I'm thinking of you both.
We had a bit of a sh*t night last night - well more of a sh*t morning - Charlie woke up at 3.30am and fed for a little bit but then his nose got all blocked up and he couldn't feed anymore - I tried the fess but it didn't seem to work - I took him into the bathroom and ran the shower on hot to steam the place up and that seemed to work, but as soon as we left the bathroom he started screaming again - it was horrible - he was hungry but couldn't eat and a little frightened I think - I spent ages just cuddling him and talking to him to calm him down - he eventually went back to sleep at 5.30 and woke up in a good mood at 6.30 - DH got him up and let me sleep until 7.30 - I have a headache now and my back is burning in pain ggrrrr I feel like I am going backwards at the moment - thankfully he's asleep now hopefully for a couple of hours - but I just can't bring myself to go back to bed - it's way too sunny.
DH is going to Melbourne for a couple of days for work and I am feaking out about spending the night on my own - so silly because DH doesn't even wake up in the middle of the night and I only see him for 10 minutes in the morning - but I hate sleeping by myself - I am not going to work myself up though - I have planned activities for myself on Tues and Thurs so I'm busy and not thinking about it - what a loser eh?
Fee - yep the mothers group is one organised by the clinic - they forgot to ring me for the first two - so I feel like a bit of an outsider and we took one off when Charlie had a cold so we didn't pass it around - so I feel like I don't really know them. I am a typical Taurus - it's not easy for me to make friends but when I do it's for life! That Mr Cooper is one handsome young man! I remember the pic of him in his cot when he first came home he was so tiny right down the end all tucked in!! now look at him!
Thanks for the tips on the fingernail cutting ladies - I will have to get onto that one - before he shreds the both of us up.
Chantal - I am thinking you might be right about the washing powder - I used to use Amolin and then switched to Purity and I think that may have been when the problems started - so I have switched back to Amolin and will see what happens. In my house wifey budget zest I bought what was on special!
Cassie - If you like PP clothes jump onto their website and go the the specials section - they have HEAPS of great stuff with lots of $$s off - and you get a parcel in the mail!! I love it!
What is it with all these Baby expos?? we don't have stuff like that down here - we have lots of psychic expos though - maybe I will go to one of those and ask when Charlie will start sleeping all the way through the night.....
Well done Baiza on the weight loss - hope you're not starving yourself young lady - I wouldn't surive without my custard cream biscuits and frozen cheese cakes.....
Bubs - will you be able to go back to your old job or will you be looking for somethign different? I am thinking about putting Charlie into care one day a week in about February of next year - just so he can socialise and get used to it before I go back in August - hey hang on that means you'll be spending less on time on BB!! no!!
well I hope everyone has a good day - it's really sunny and nice here today so I'm off for a big walk - better get some sustenance under my belt first though.... now where are those frozen cheesecakes....
Em!
hi all well i am back home is all went well, expect for when she woke up after the op, she didn't know where she was and screamed, i feed her and she screamed some more until i got her back to sleep and then she woke up happy, she has been ver unsettled today. Hopefully after a good sleep now she will be a bit more happy. I cried when she was this morning it was so awful, i couldn't do anything to make her happy.
Not much happening here. Cooper has slept through a couple more times but this morning woke at 3.45 am … so almost. But I think he's starting to get the hang of making it all the way until 5-6 am. I hope he does it again tonight!
Anyway he's waking from a nap now … gotta go!
chantal25 – That's a bummer that the clinic had no tips for you. And how cool about Zac trying to crawl! You'll have to get some photos.
Buseykel – How is Danielle's conjunctivitis? Are you putting breast milk in it?
kmh – I hope Charlotte is doing okay after her op. Thinking of you.
Cassie – I'm glad to hear that Dylan's day sleeps have improved a bit for you. Wrapping is still working really well with Cooper's day naps.
Fraser – I'm sure you'll be just fine when your DH goes away! Just keep busy! But I'm like you – I hate sleeping alone too.
Hi All!
I think Im really turning into a domestic goddess! lol!!!
There I was at 7.30 this morning flicking through my fav cook book looking for something healthy to make for dinner...when WHAMO...this picture of a thriple layer chocolate mud cake filled with fresh whipped cream and raspberries jumps out from the page and says...."BAKE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" So I did!!! Im soooo not a cake baker at all...and the dumbest thing is that Im a health kick and im not supposed to eat this beautiful creation that Ive made. So if anyone wants a bit just let me know !
Had a good couple of days lately...yesterday Jensen Mum and I went to our main shopping centre and we saw Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn player) anyway DH is a devoted hawks supporter...so after half an hour of ummming and arring I finally mustered up the courage and went over and asked if he could hold Jensen while I took a photo... and hes was soooooooo nice and was very happy to hold him...and have a chat to Jensen it was really cute! The photos have turned out really well and DH and his family are all over the moon...so i guess thats it...my hope for Jensen to be a little Sainter is out of the question now!!!
Em- My best friend is a Taurian...and I think they are witty and smart and very loyal...a touch stubborn though! lol!! And little Charlie is very lucky to have such a wonderful mum...dont forget that honey! I think sometimes we get so caught up with trying to get a grip on this motherhood thing all in one go and there is so much pressure on us to get the hang of it straight away...that we tend to beat ourselves up emotionally if he struggle from time to time...Im mean we are all so new to this and we are learning as we go and doing the very best we can!! I think your doing a brilliant job Em! Have a beer tonight and I hope Charlie is feeling better soon!
Kel- Poor Danielle getting conjunctivitis... Ive heard that breast milk will fix it too...sounds weird I know! And I forgot to congratulate you on your wonderful grand final win!!! I thought it would be the saints year...but you guys were very deserved winners!! But you should have a chat to your boys about hand shake etiquette!!
Cassie-How did mothers group go at your house...did you have to cook up a storm? Will have to take trip to DFO I think...Jensen really needs some new clothes!! So do I for that matter!
Chantal- YAY for Zac trying to crawl...what a clever little man!
Kelly- How is Charlotte today? I think your a very brave Mummy... it must have been very hard on you too!! Hope she is feeling better.
Fee- I love the photos of Cooper!! He is such a cutie!!
Ok off for power walk!! Must loose my extra butt cheek!!
Love Cyn
Cyn- mmmmm yummy, send me some cake, Charlotte is feeding better, which is great because i thought yesterday "What i have i done" when she was screaming down the hospital. She has to get used to attaching again as it is a bit different now that she can move her tongue.
well it's only 4 sleeps until i am off to QLD, sooooooooo looking forward to it.
Just a quick post...
Cooper just rolled over! From tummy to back! OMG it was so funny. I had him doing tummy time and he looked like he was reading a book so I was about to run and grab the camera. Just as I was about to do this, I noticed that it looked like he might tip over! Next thing he is on his back looking surprised! It took me a while to realise "OMG he has just rolled over". :)
fee- congrats on coppers roll.
KMH - how is Charlotte feeding now? i hope its all going well
Zac had a bad night. he wanted to feed from 2am til 4am. i woke dh up and cried to him that i needed to sleep. so he got up and took him until 6am zac screamed the whole time. i went to check on dh and zac to find them both crying in the loungeroom. i sent dh back to bed and calmed zac down. took zac back to bed. fed for 5 minutes and he was asleep. he woke every 1 1/2 hours to feed. i think its comfort eating - i think his colic is playing up again. his asleep now but i dont know how long for. tomorrow i am starting a baby massage course so maybe that will help.
PS zac had his first proper giggle in the bath yesterday it was so cute
hey ladies,
well it's almost over - another 4 hours and DH will be home. I think Charlie knew something was up because it took three tries to get him to bed last night and then he woke at 2am to eat and then woke every hour crying - he NEVER does that - I guess at least I didn't have to sleep on my own because I DIDN'T GET TO SLEEP!!!
Cyn - you always say such lovely things, thanks  Look I wouldn't worry too much about the lovely and yummy and delectable chocolatey goodness cream cake - I just made a batch of chocolate crackles and have already eaten four..... am feeling a little ill now....
Fee - Yay for Super Cooper on the roll over - he's so clever! ps: I loved the photographic lessons on wrapping a baby by the way - they were fantastic! (in the general toddler forum)
Chantal - poor you - I hate it when stuff like that happens -is everything ok know? did Zac stay asleep for a while?
Kelly - I hope all is well with Charlotte - have fun in QLD - you lucky duck - hey do you want me to send you a chocolate crackle too?
well I am off to clean the house up - decided not to bother cleaning up after myself for the last day - so had better get it clean before DH gets home - actually I just re-read that, who the hell am I kidding!!!! I don't care if the house is a mess - it's a public holiday here tomorrow so DH can clean it up then! gawd - this inner house wife needs to back off!
mmmmmmm chocolate crackles in the fridge mmmmmmmmm
Em!
em- that sounds great, i love anything to do with chocolate mmmmmmmmmmm, is your house clean.
Fee- i just had a look at your pics of cooper being wraped, that is a good idea i will have to try it that way i do it another way at the moment but she gets out most of the time, Yay cooper what a cleaver boy for rolling, Charlotte wont be doing that for a while she has no idea.
Chantal- OMG you poor thing, how is your Dh it can take it out of them as well, i hope you get Zac sleeping soon.
Well i have to start to pack soon only 3 more sleeps YAY
Hi everyone. Well Cooper didn't roll again yesterday. I was hoping he would and kept trying to video him so I could show DH if it happened.
Cooper did something he's never done on Tuesday night night. I fed him at 6pm as usual and he went to bed. I went to bed around 9.30 pm and fell asleep instantly. Next thing I hear Cooper waking and crying out - it was 10pm?!?! What the?! How strange. So I fed him and then he slept until 5am.
How weird waking at 10... I can't figure out why. I hope he's not getting my cold. He seemed very snuffly yesterday and kept sneezing and coughing a bit more than normal. But he didn't seem upset by it - still a happy chappy.
Also, Cooper hasn't slept through again for a few days now. Last night he had his last feed at 6.45 pm (a bit later than usual) but then woke at 3.00 am and then 6.30 am.
I wish he would just sleep through!
He did seem hungry though yesterday. He wasn't sleeping quite as long for his naps as he has been for the past few weeks. He was waking up about 30 minutes before his 3 hourly feed was due, but I just offered him a feed anyway and he took it and fed for about 40 minutes! So he fed nearly 2.5 hourly yesterday and it wasn't snacking. I was sure he would sleep through with so much food in his belly.
If any of you are curious about how I've been wrapping Cooper for the past few days (he was escaping the traditional style of wrapping) here are the pics.
Step 1
Lie bub in middle of wrap
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4420.jpg
Step 2
Take one side of wrap and put it over their arm but under their back. You can make it as tight as you like (so their arm is firmly straight against their body).
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4421.jpg
Step 3
Do the same with the other side.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4422.jpg
Step 4
Grab botton edge of wrap and bring it up to bub's chin.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4423.jpg
Step 5
Wrap each side of leftover material underneath bub.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN4424.jpg
chantal25 – Yay for Zac's first giggle! It's so cute when they do it. I hope Zac slept better for you last night.
Fraser – Did Charlie sleep better last night? Sometimes they just do the strangest things don't they?!
kmh – Not long until your trip now. I hope you have a great time up here!
Mads - Reading in my Wonder Weeks book, there is an unsettled period around about 12 or so weeks, just one of our babies many fussy periods they have to go through and by the sounds of things sounds like that`s where Freya is now, Adrian is approaching it as he`s unsettled early evening which is very unusual.
Fee - Yay, Yay, Yay for Cooper rolling
Em - LOL @ you being an inner house wife, you crack me up :)
KMH - Have a great holiday, we`re thinking of going to Canberra next month but it`s only in the pipe line, so hard to organise around Mark`s two oldest boys as they`ll be coming with us too.
Okay I`ve missed a lot of you girls out, I`m just getting tired and need to go to bed. I hope your all keeping well :)
We had an awful time with Adrian`s injections, took about 3/4 days before he was back to normal but he`s still got two big hard lumps on both thighs, poor little man, the high temps were very scary. I don`t like vaccination time, have Matthew`s 18 month ones in 2 weeks time, oh what fun!!!!
Adrian`s doing well, he`s well and truly found all his fingers now and it`s so cute when he looks at his fist from all directions, he`s following Matthew all the time and is very interested in him, he`s also getting use to all Matthew`s rough plays, Matthew is always wanting to hold Adrian and cuddle him but his cuddles often turn into a strangle, I`m glad Adrian is on the big side to cope with it.
Take Care
Dee

I want Cooper to sleep through again... he's forgotten how to do it! Last night he woke at 2.00 am. The other night was 3.00 am. It is different every night. I guess I can be thankful that he wakes just once during the night and that he is no problem to settle.
And this morning he is not going down for his nap as per usual - he is crying. What's going on today?!?!
Mads – Cooper seems to think wrapping is a game! Whenever I wrap him he is all smiles.
How did Freya sleep last night?
Deejoy17 – I've always wondered what "find your hands" means… when they suck their fists for the first time? Clasp their hands together? Grab at a toy on their own? "Finding your feet" seems an easier one to decipher!!!
Yay we are off to QlD tomorrow, i am just in the middle of packing and i needed a break, we have packed Tim's and Madisons things together and the suitcase weighs about 20kg (it is only suppost to weigh about 15kgs) and i have nearly finished mine and Charlottes things i hope they only weigh about 20ks. Hopefully we see someone nice and they allow us to have the extra kgs because we have 2 children, otherwise i think i can put it in with my dad or stepmums things(it is a big family holiday)
Dee- Charlotte has gotton used to the cuddles from Madison and her yelling she will sleep through it. I hope you can get on your holiday.
Fee- I want Charlotte to sleep through the night, she still wakes up twice. She is still in our room when we get back she will be going into her own room hopefully she will sleep a bit longer over night as i think she can smell me when she wakes up.
Mads- gald to see you got some extra sleep, it is amazing how much they grow.
Well i have had to put away Charlottes 000 juimpsuits away and one of her 0000 sets away. she still fits into her pp outfit that is new born, other wise she is in 000, oh she is getting big.
hey guys,
bad bad bad morning and yesterday was rotten too, Charlie is very windy and hasn't done a poo since Wednesday - he screams and screams half way through a feed.
I've been up since 4am - feel terrible headache and dizzy, I can't do this anymore - I'm so at the end of my tether - nothing I do seems to be right and I think I just end up making things worse.
He looks sick and I don't know if that' maternal instinct or paranoia.
I hate feeling like this
After a few days of being unsettled and about a week or more since he last slept through the night (the previous two nights he woke at midnight) – Cooper slept through last night! The sixth time he's slept through – I'm still counting!!!
He went from 6.00 pm feed to 5.20 am. I was starting to think he would never do it again! He also went to sleep last night without a single grizzle – maybe that's why? Next time he has a hard time getting to sleep I'll have to see if that contributes to a bad night sleep.
Although I didn't sleep through! I heard Cooper stir at 1.30 am, 3.30 am and 4.30 am. At one of those times (can't remember now) I got up because I could hear him banging against the side of the cot. I found him lying sideways so had to move him (and hope he didn't wake!).
I also did a few things different when putting Cooper to bed. After I had fed him and read him a book, I turned the lamp off straight away. The light from the laundry outside his room was enough for me to see (and I left this on for about an hour after). I got Mark to come in and say good night while I was still holding him. Then I put him in to his cot and turned his Fisher Price Aquarium onto the waves crashing sound (didn't have the lights on the mobile either). Normally I turn the lamp off after Cooper is in bed and also Mark normally comes in to say good night after I've put him in the cot. I have no idea if changing any of these things have made a difference? Although I wouldn't think so – Cooper often used to go to sleep at night without any grizzling or crying. I guess some nights are just bad nights – Friday and Saturday night especially!
After thinking we could see white spots on Cooper's gums yesterday, I wanted to rub some teething gel onto his gums but the pack said not for babies under 4 months (we had a sample of some). We then went to the shops to buy the brand Bonjella but even that said not for babies under 4 months. The lady at the chemist was really nice and suggested Baby Panadol and also showed us a really good teething ring which we bought. It's small and thin and easy for little babies to hold. I'm not even completely sure Cooper is teething. It is really hard to tell. And seeing that he went to sleep without a hitch last night… I've only ever given him Panadol once - I don't really want to just give it to him when I'm not sure if he's in pain?
Mads – Cooper normally goes 3-4 hours between feeds too but on Friday he pretty much fed every 2 to 2.5 hours. I fed him a total of 9 times!!! How's Freya today? Back to normal feeding patterns?
kmh – Hope all went well for your trip up to Qld! Hope the plane trip was okay.
Fraser – I'm so sorry you're feeling at the end of your tether. Have you been feeling like this for long? I've had a few days recently where I have felt like that. It's just awful.
HEy Em!! Hold on babe everything is going to be ok...and you are doing a brilliant job!! It might not feel like it right now...but trust me Charlie wouldnt want anyone else to be his Mummy than you!
What been happening over the last 24 hours?
Has his cold gotten worst?
Can your Mum drop in and have a cuppa with you ...and give you a cuddle...
My friend took her 3month old son to an Osteopath for wind..and it was fixed in 2 visits! And like you they tried every type of drops and medication...perhaps this would be good for Charlie too....
Ohhh wish i was in tassie so I could drop over!!!
Let us know if there is anything we can do honey!
Love Cyn
Hey again,
well he just wont stop screaming - well he does stop - but not for very long - when I lie him down to feed he will feed for a few minutes and then pop himself off and just scream himself silly - I jiggle, pat, rub, cuddle, give drops - do everything I can think of but he just screams. the only thing that works is if I go 'SSshhh' really really loud in his ear - then he quietens down. He just wont burp.
he hadn't done a poo since Wednesday and today he has done three massive ones really really runny ones - so I thought maybe he had a tummy ache doing those - I just don't know. He doesn't have a temp or anything.
I am so tired and confused and I just want him to go back to normal.
Thanks Mads, Cyn and Fee - I just needed to type stuff out and then it doesn't seem as bad - thanks for your responses - I'm just being dunderhead :crying:
The walls are closing in a little bit - so Dh is going to come home so I can go out for a while..... thank god....
Hang in there Em... just remember none of this lasts forever. That's what my mum keeps telling me. But some days it's just so hard I know.
Thanks Fee.
gosh Cooper looks like your DH! that is a very cute new pic in your ticker
Cooper slept through again! :)
Unlike the night before I didn't hear him stir numerous times. I actually woke at 4.30 am with sore boobs and thinking "I haven't heard Cooper!". So I got up to check on him and he was lying completely sideways in his cot.
Now normally I hear him when he's done this because he may bang against the side – so I get up and move him. But he was fast asleep – it was just me who had woken up. I wasn't sure whether to move him or not. In the end I did and he stirred quite a bit. I went back to bed worrying that he was now going to wake completely! So I didn't sleep too well after that. He ended up waking at 5.30 am so I fed him, brought him into bed with Mark to say hello and then put him back to sleep in his cot around 6.15 am. Then Cooper and I both slept until 8.30 am.
And thankfully my right boob is feeling okay this morning. Yesterday afternoon it was very hard - even after a 20 minute feed. I could feel lumps and was freaking out about getting mastitis again. I think because Cooper slept through the night before it all started from there. At the first feed he fed from my left side first but then only took 5 minutes from the right. Then he went 4 hours until the next feed so I was very full.
I had Mark massaging the lumps out last night and it seemed to help but just 15 minutes later it felt the same as before. So I went to bed a bit uncomfortable. But after feeding Cooper this morning I feel back to normal. Phew...
Also I got Cooper to laugh again yesterday arvo. It was so funny. I had him lying on his side and I kept chomping on his elbow which made him cackle. Mark managed to record the sound on his mobile phone! Then Mark got laughs from him this morning in bed! I was out in the lounge room and could hear it.
Fee - I totally understand the sore boobs in the morning - sometimes Charlie will sleep until 4.30 or 5am but I wake up a bit earlier because my boobs are soooo sore and full - it doesn't matter what way I lie in bed they hurt - so I have to get up to express. I wonder if you're getting lumps and stuff because Cooper is going so long between feeds now and you're just getting used to it? yaay for the laughs - Charlie makes more of a grunt than a laugh!
well things seem a bit brighter today - Charlie slept from 7.30 until 3.30 and I went to bed at 9.30 so got 6 hours solid - which was good for me I think. he's not screamy today - he's been very happy and chatty - waffling on and on at me raising his eyebrows and gooing and gaaing - so I guess he's ok! phew!
what a panic merchant!
Hi girls
Have been offline for the last week as my DH was on tour (he's a guitarist in a band) and I went to stay with my mum and she does not have her internet set up so I couldn't log on. So much has happened.
Dylan rolled over from front to back twice on Sunday and my DH was very disappointed that he missed it, though he hasn't done it again. My mum was there but in another room so she missed it too but came in to see if he would do it again for the third time but wouldn't and he gave us a look as if to say I am not a performing seal, LOL! I was very proud. He has been very fussy with feeding the last couple of days and I have had to resort to wrapping him while feeding and this works. I am not sure why we thought maybe it was because DH was away but now DH is back and he is still doing it, I thought myabe my AF was coming as I have been having cramps which are a tell tale sign and perhaps my milk tastes different? Otherwise I am not sure. Unless he is teething but I think it is a bit early for that.
Dylan and I had a great week of mummy and baby time and I am just so smitten with my little man, not that I wasn't before but even more so now he is just so delightful and he is becoming more and more responsive every day and is giving other people besides me and DH lovely big smiles too which is nice especially for the grandparents.
KMH Have a lovely holiday. If you are still interested in the Baba Sling I would like $50 for it and I could drop it in to your place or meet you somewhere so it doesn't have to be mailed. Let me know if you still want it.
Anyway I will have to leave it there as DH wants to use the computer.
BBL for more personals.
Hi girls
I've posted in the Baby & Toddler Discussion section about car seats. What do you all have? I don't think Cooper will make it to 6 months in his capsule. He is getting too big. If you have time, please check out my thread and let me know your thoughts!
At every opportunity now he is rolling onto his side and often lies like that for ages just sucking his fingers. Also he now can grab the toys on his activity mat so looks like he'll be trying to destroy it! He pulls on the toys so the whole frame comes down and he bats at them etc. I find it so amazing how quickly they learn things. One day they can't do something and the next they can. He's also laughing a lot more. Yesterday I got heaps of cackles from him.
Fraser – How's Charlie going? Still happy and chatty?!
Cassie – I know what you mean about becoming more smitten! They're just growing so fast and doing more amazing things each day! Cooper has only rolled tummy to back once and that was a few days ago. He rolls from his back to his side though and does that all the time.
