Hi all
V with the lump I have had what feels like hard sections and they can be really noticible when you bump your boobs. xavier kicks mine while on the change table ('cause i'm short) and it kills. I give my boobs a good rub at least once everyday. If I find anything like that I make sure that I feed xavier on that side first, and really make sure he empties it. if the lump didn't dissapear quickly I would go to the doc, but I haven't had to do that yet.
Em, I think it would be hard to work in the next room. Just think everytime you heard your bub cry you would want to comfort them because you know just how to do it perfectly, but you wouldn't be able to. I'd probably start leaking or crying or something then.
Raels, Until I had Xavier I never considered the time you have to decide to have no more children. I'm now starting to realise that it will be a very difficult decision. I would love more kids and I only hope that the decision of the last baby isn't too hard. I often forget just how good xaviers sleeping is. but the days do sometimes get long. Today was a "no sleeping mummy!" day.
Mel, oh Cmaelias. I hope you have a water takn so you can keep them alive. Very thirsty plants and they like a partly shady spot. They will look lovley once grown though. Hope your foots healing well.
Sasha, I don't know. I'm sure it won't be long before she's a champion roller. So try not to stress, although it's very hard not too.
Nicki, Lach could have been having teething symptoms for weeks, that might explain his fussy eating. if he's jaw hurt iykwim. Hopefully he will get his teeth and return to your happy go lucky boy again.
V lol on voting on sunday.
Tracey, thanks. looks like I'm just going to have to rpovide extra everyday, but because it's a child care centre i will have to provide it all defrosted. How old wa indah at the time? I will have to start recording our feed times i think and work out what he's doing now. That might help me understand how much he needs each day, then i can plus 1 feed.
Jan, I here you, i'm still loooking for that little key that you turn in their back like the educational ones the use at schools, that fixes everything that little key.
Hey seriously though I'd be happy with a mute button, have you tried a universal remote
Well i;m tired, but i've been feeling a little like an insomniac latley. having trouble getting to sleep, and then waking up really early. Peeved with nathan at the moment. I think it's because i don't see him all day and when he does come home he sits and plays on his computer. Seriously the game he plays is as boring as all hell, can't he just make conversation etc. doesn't he realise i'm stuck at home everyday with a 3 month old to speak to and need to live vicariously through his day to day goings on.
anywho, gotta go, got a craving for orange drink (the stuff that's all watered down). :lol; I have more cravings when I'm not pg.
night all
happy election day!!

WARNING - MOTHER IN LAW WHINGE!!
Yesterday DH ran into his mum when we were on our way out in seperate cars...she was on her way to our house but we were going to my parents place. Anyway, he pulled over and they had a chat and he told her how we had bought a new pram and had walked Lucas down to vote in it and he was fine (YAY!!). She had bought the other pram so DH said her tone and expression just changed and she started saying "so the one i bought wasn't good enough?" and "well you can sell it and give me my money back". He explained it was only temporary cos he wouldn't go in the other one. She said "well i guess its official then, he is just a sook!" If i had have been there i would have slapped her! She also said that we mustn't get him out enough cos of his people phobia and that she knows someone with a baby the same age as Lucas who will just go to anyone etc etc etc. She has 4 kids, doesn't she know they are all different. I AM SO ANGRY! All this in a conversation on the side of the road. She is supposed to babysit next weekend and i don't want her to now.
Thanks for the vent GRRRRRR!
-
Morning everyone!
Megan - MIL's are ARGH arent they! So frustrating. I guess I am lucky cause Jason doesnt see his mum much, I think since we have had Avaleigh she has come over 4 times! I cant believe the comment about Lucas being a sook - thats just not called for!
Question for everyone. Who would you prefer to babysit your baby - MIL or your own mum? I prefer my own mum. My mum asked me why is it that myself and my sister would want her to babysit all the time. I just put it down to that I know how she raised me and thats how I want my baby to be raised. If that makes sense! Do other people feel the same way?
Rebecca - good luck with getting Nathan off the computer! I just dont think guys get it. Jason is the same, he will come home and sit in front of the TV cause he's had a hard day at work. And good luck getting a conversation out of him at dinner time!
I had to pick my mum up from the airport last night at 11pm cause dad had to go to work! So feeling a little tired today. Avaleigh is asleep so I should jump in to bed but I really need to wash my car. I dont think its been washed for 4 months and I could barely see out the back window last night!!
We are going out for a family picnic later. I cant wait!! Things have been busy with the wedding plans and backyard and Jason working that I called a family day again. Its a bit cloudy outside so I hope the sun comes out later.
Well better wash my car while Avaleigh is still asleep.
and OMG 3 weeks today until my wedding!!!
-
Hi Megan - gosh MILs can be insensitive cant they. I know it is easier said than done but dont let what she said worry you - her comment was so not called for. You have to do what is right for you and Lucas and if that meant getting a new pram well too bad I say. I think it is amazing how MILS have an uncanny knack of saying things that annoy.
V - I would definitely rather my mum look after the kids than MIL. For me it is just that I know my mum better than my MIL (obviously LOL) so I feel more comfortable knowing she has the kids and my mum knows the kids routines (and respects them) and like you said I know I want my children raised the way she raised me. MILS are funny things and that is putting it politely LOL. Enjoy your picnic.
Me - well I had dinner with my birthmother and it went really well - I always stress myself out beforehand and it always ends up being really nice catching up with her - although I feel like we spent most of the time chasing Jesse as we were at a house that had lots of nice things about and I was worried he would break something! I had two glasses of Moet over dinner and today I feel like I have a hangover - how sad is that - two glasses and I am a wreck. We have a 1st birthday party to go to today so I had better get some energy happening!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Jem
-
my little girl has been such an ANGEL today!! I managed to wash and vacuum my car this morning and didnt even hear a cry from her while she slept and played. And now she has been sleeping for nearly 2 hours and she is sleeping on her side!! She must like that position. So its been a very relaxing day! We havent gone out for your picnic because the weather isnt very nice but its OK, atleast its just been us at home and not all of Jason's mates too.
Oh and I have a WOOHOO!! I am now down to the weight I was when I got pregnant. YAY!! So that is 20kg GONE!! It took 4 months and lots of hard work but its sooo worth it. Now to lose another 6 kg and I'd be better than ever!
-
How did you go Em? Is Tom safely back in your arms?
V - well done on the weight loss!! The time is going to fly till the wedding!!
Jem - I'm glad dinner went well! Dont worry, i always feel drunk these days after one drink!!
Still mad at MIL...was going to hide under the bed with Lucas if she turned up today, but she didn't thank god!!
Who's going to win idol????
-
OMG MEgan, That's not on at all & I'd speak to your hubby & see how he feels about the comment & her babysitting!? Coz I am SUPER *****, so I'd probablky call & say... "Just letting you know the sook doesnt need/want to be babysat this weekend, Oh he's crying now Gotta go!" then hang up!
I have learnt that it's not on for others to put me, my parenting style, my kids personalities & differences etc down, so I stand up to them now!
I dont care who I **** off along the way, if they can be that blatantly rude then they deserve what they get back! Zyon is a Mummy's boy (I love that) he settles with me, DH cant get him to settle properly & mostly because ppl (no matter how many times I tell them) try to lay him down in their arms & hug him in close, he hates that hold & goes banana's! He HAS to be held upright, it's the only way to calm him, but they insist on knowing better & then roll their eyes & hand him back! I dont care he's my boy & I'm glad he loves me so much & feel safe & secure with me! But Megan i'd be really upset & I wouldnt be able to bite my tongue, funnily enough as soon as you've retaliated or let them know it's not on to run your baby/their grandson down, the sooner they will actually stop, so the sooner you let them know, it's usually the better!!???
V, Well done on an awesome weightloss achievement! That's great & OMG 3wks, phew it will be here before you know it... I bet whatever you do for your honeymoon will be magical, when we married in OZ we didnt go/do anything, stayed at a hotel & then spent a week going to Zoo, Museum, Aquarium & various other places with Maddy (she was 4)
As for whom I prefer to babysit, my IL's are in another country & I do trust them, if anything they are probably more obedient in listening to what I do with our kids. My Mum I obviously trust, but she does what she likes with them & not necessarily what I wanted!? She never breastfed us & so will often say, just leave me a tin of formula... I just roll my eyes at her & tell her he's breastfed because I WANT to feed him & to me it's not an inconvenience! I leave her my cloth nappies etc all ready to go, but she goes & buys disposables!?
With Indah she tells me Indah drinks too much milk & doesnt eat enough, but if I am gone for 30mins, Mum will give in & let Indah have 2 cups of milk & a freddo for lunch! But then tell me the kid eats badly!? Thankfull I can tell her exactly what I think & not hold back & can slam the doors etc, but all is OK 5 mins later & she'll say... "They are your kids, I just try to help!" They live in a unit behind our house & she is 90% of the time a huge help... Just when she offers advice!!! Now I just say, "Oh they are your kids again are they?" She smiles & stops talking!!!
Rebecca, Indah was almost 6mths at the time... If you do give it defrosted then make sure whatever milk is left over from the day before is used first thing the next day, so as long as it gets rotated it should be OK! Just give an extra feed than you'll think but I'm guessing 3 bottles worth would be heaps!? I deman fed Indah too & had no idea how much to give! Eventually you'll see what he's taking!
Oh & to whomever asked about rocking a baby etc to sleep... I basically do whatever it takes to get my babies to sleep... Indah sleeps no worries in her own bed now, so you do whatever works for you...
PPL who warn you about spoiling them or whatever cant remember back to the things they did & another thing I have learned they are all so different! Maddy slept thru from 7 days old & has never cause us any sleepless nights... Indah slept thru on & off from about 4mths, she would fall asleep on the breast & easily go from breast to bed, she did cause us some grief with sleep when trying to move her from cot to bed, but now also sleeps beautifully, Zyon had been sleeping thru & has recently stopped, I do whatever I think is right, he can be in a deep sleep on the breast & as soon as I lay him down he can be wide awake & then not settle for another 2hours!? but once again... Well meaning ppl havent had THIS PARTICULAR BABY, they are all different... I dont care what advice they offer, because I am not complaining...
OK goodnight Ladies, I'm getting my buddha baby weighed tomorrow!!!!

Hi everyone
This weekend was Diana's first holiday away. My sister, Diana and I went down to Kiama for a girls' weekend. We walked around the town, did some shopping and saw the blowhole yesterday. Was kind of disappointed with the blowhole - it wasn't blowing much, but we saw the "little blowhole", which was a lot more impressive. I don't think Diana cared much either way. We stayed the night with some of my sister's friends, which was lovely. Diana decided that not only did she not need sleep during the day, she also didn't need to sleep at night. I swear, she was up until almost midnight! I think she missed her daddy, as she would keep looking at the doorway as if waiting for someone to come in.
This morning we went to the beach, and Diana hated it.The sound of the surf scared her and the water was too cold for her to even dip her feet in. :( I tried to get her into a little lagoon thing, but even that was too cold. I decided that I might try taking her to the beach again next year. Before then, it probably wouldn't be much fun for either of us.
Woo hoo for me - I am no longer working, but will be paid until the end of the year! I am taking the time until then as sick/stress leave. I am glad that it worked out this way, although wish that I had gone to the doctor to get the pnd diagnosed sooner, before I had started acting completely insane at work. Oh well, I guess it has worked out well. I just hope that my boss is not too annoyed with me (I had said some quite *****y things about her , not really meaning to, but just being so overwhelmed and unhappy with the whole situation) and doesn't give me a bad reference.
Re bubs not getting to sleep by themselves - Diana seems to be going through a similar phase at the moment. I recommend just going with the flow. If anyone ever advises me not to pick her up, etc, I ignore it. I just think that in two years or so, she won't want to be picked up anymore, and in twelve years she won't want to be seen in public with me, lol, so I am going to cuddle her and be as close to her and as kind to her as I can be while she still lets me...
Veronica - Yay on the weight loss. Congratulations. Wow, your wedding is so close. So exciting!
Megan - I too seem to get drunk really easily these days. Last week I had a glass of watered down wine and felt tipsy afterwards. Oh well, I suppose its cheaper this way.
Jem - Glad your dinner with your mother went well.
HI to everyone else. Hope you've all had a good weekend.
-
Hi everyone! Had a very busy weekend with visitors and so forth but have been able to read and catch up!
Veronica Well done on your weight loss!!! What a fantastic effort!
Tracey Alessia is the same - loves to be settled upright by her mummy...no one else! *hehe*
Zofia Pity that Diana didn't like the water, but I'm sure in a years time she'll be loving it!
Jem Hope you enjoyed the 1st birthday party! Crazy how we'll be planning our own very soon!
Megan I would feel exactly the same!!! *ugh* to MILs!
Rebecca Goodness, Nathan and David must be twins!! The bloody computer wins over me ALL the time...I threaten to pour water over the laptop sometimes *lol* just to get a bit of attention!
Well it's bed time for me! Looking forwad to the warmer weather this week so I can put some funky shorts I bought for Alessia, on! Night all!
-
OMG ladies, talk talk talk talk...................... I can't keep up these days.
Jem, so sorry. When I read your post the other day, I thought you were having dinner with your mum, not your biological mum. Wow, what a big event. I'm glad it went well. How often do you see her?
And how long have you known her? Good luck with first day alone with kids. I'll be thinking of you.
Veronica, wow congrats to you girl. What a top effort. Now you'll just have to slow down in the next 3 weeks so your dress doesn't fall off you, he he he.
Megan, OMG what a cow!! I diddo every thing that Tracey said. I would definately speak up to her now. I know it's hard. Because out of respect you don't want to stand up to her, but definately agree with what Tracey said, the longer she is let go, the worse she will become and the harder it will be to speak to her. Hugs to you babe!!
Tracey, just out of curiosity, are you a Taurus?? We sound very similiar in ways. I think I suit my star sign to a tea. I'm normally very placid and quite but **** me off and watch out, I'll come charging like a bull and never forget what you did. Not sure if that is such a good thing though, ;) Can't wait to hear about Zyons weight gain.
Zofia, yey on finishing work. And being paid until the end of the year, double bonus!!!!
Warning Vent Ahead.........Well, we have Charlizes needles this morning, not looking forward to it, but who does. And I'm trying to fight a cold. And I nearly feel down the stairs carrying Charlize and stopped my fall jaring my bad foot, so it is now very sore and puffy and blue again. And, I'm missing DH big time. So in all, I feel like crap ATM. I'm going to pick up the plants I bought the other day, today, so hopefully being outside in the garden for awhile might perk me up a little. And soon I'll have to go looking for a new side by side stroller, if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. Doing this because we might be heading over to Japan just after Christmas. DH work has asked him to extend, but he said he only would if the agree to pay for me and the kids to come up. So we should here back sometime early this week if we are going to go. Not looking forward to travelling by myself with the 2 kids for 12 in total on 2 flights. How the hell do people to that, when I will be only allocated 1 seat as both kids are under 2. I said to DH make sure they buy us 2 seats, as I can't hold both of them the whole way, imagine that, how would I do that??
Anyway sorry for the vent, I just thought, getting it out might make me feel better, sorry it was at your expense though.
Take care all
-
Morning everyone!
Tracey - DH was furious too and he didn't even tell me till the next day cos i had been having a bad day and he knew how angry i would be!! We are seriously just thinking about taking Lucas to my uncle's 60th now cos if MIL has him either way she will be a pain....if he is good for her she will carry on about it and if he is bad she will continue the sook business! DH did get angry with her and tried to remind her that he is ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD! If she says anything when i am there there is no way i will be able to bite my tongue!! Lucas is an upright boy too!!
Zofia- glad you are feeling better about everything with work! We are off to noosa in a week so i am hoping Lucas like the beach, but the house we are staying at has a pool and i think he will be happier in there!
Have a good day!
-
Mel- Gee you are in the wars!! How long is DH away for? Flying with the kids will be interesting but are you happy about the prospect of a holiday??? Good luck with the needles!! Believe me, we all need to vent sometimes!!
-
ZYON IS 4 MONTHS TODAY & MADDY IS 9YEARS! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SMALLEST & BIGGEST BABIES!!
Mel, Dont apologise for venting... It's what we are here for & I'm sure we'd all be venting too, if all that was going on within our own little homes!
I am a Cancer! OOOh, I hold grudges too...
Not sure how you'd go travelling with 2 under 2? I'm sure DH's work will have to pay for 2 seats!? I wonder how single parents of twins would travel? There must be something/way? Oh well get them to pay & Charlize can have her own seat! Good Luck with the needles! I hope you havent damaged your foot again, some outside time (resting if possible) sounds great!
Megan, Mel touched on another pat about your MIL, out of respect we dont be rude to them, but surely she can provide similar respect in return & not put you, your son etc down..
Honestly the sooner she knows you wont satand for her crap, the sooner she stops treating you like a door mat, I am going to be so conscious of Zyon's girlfriends, wife or partner (JIC) & be kind coz I think Mum's of sons are the worst! lol
Jem, yay on the great dinner with your bio Mum...
Zofia, well done on gettoing paid til end of the year & also on the little time away...
at 11:30 Zy has his appt, he is getting his immunisations mid dec as we got his first lot late due to be in Bali.
-
My goodness - you go away for a day and come back to so much to read!! I have only had a breif skim thru because i am determined to get my mountains of housework done today, so my reward will be a proper sit down and read with cup of tea and chocolate biscuit in hand! Just wanted to say to Megan that i totally understand you on the MIL issue. You may be aware mine is a pain in the rear end (or total polar opposite and the loveliest woman on earth other days. Go figure..). Before Tom was diagnosed with his reflux, she used to constantly call him a 'bad baby' and get stuck into us because we were spoiling him by having him sleep in our bed and using a baby carrier. We tried explaining that he only ever wanted to be held upright and he hated his pram but that wasnt good enough for her. I remember hiding behind the couch with Tom one day when she was knocking on the front door in case she looked thru the window. She used to ring up to 8 times a day to check on so-called 'bad baby'. One day DH just snapped and told her that little babies are in no way manipulative (sp?) and it is not possible to spoil them as they only seek the comfort of their parents. i was so impressed. He admited to me later that he read it in the 'BabyLove' book , but it shut her up for a while. About that anyway..
Now when she comes around she picks up Tom and says to him ' have mummy and daddy been mean to you? You tell nan all about it. When they arent looking, i am going to feed you some mashed potato'. So unfortunately we may just have to accept she will never change, but Megan seek comfort in the fact that people totally understand what you are dealing with and vent to us anytime!!
Well the wkend away was brilliant. Wedding was beautiful - bride was stunning - and had a great time hitting the dance floor with DH. Tom was an angel child apparently. My sister was really good - she kept me updated with phone calls and picture messages so i felt great. Cried when i left him (me that is, not him) and missed him alot but also lovely to spend time as adults again!! When we picked him up, he was asleep so once he woke up, we went into him and he squealed with joy to see us so it was lovely to know we had been missed!!
OK - must dash - housework waiting. Be back later to catch up properly xx
-
Morning everyone!!
I've oinly skimmed through this morning and Avaleigh is getting a little unsettled and she is squealing her head off - so cute!!
Avaleigh has started waking up in the early hours of the morning! I only really realised that this morning when I heard her in the baby monitor at 3.30am  Not good when the night before all I got was 6 hours sleep!! I'm pretty sure she has started waking up in the early hours for the past 4 -5 days, but I have been putting her dummy in and she goes back to sleep. To the mum who have your babies on solids (sorry forgot who you are!), is this what your bubs started to do??!! I am going to give her something to eat while we are having dinner. What sort of solids do you give?? I've been giving rice cereal mixed with my breast milk but she doesnt always seem to be a fan of that. SO some ideas of solids woud be great!!
Avaleigh found her feet yesterday, grabs them whenever she remembers and she is moving all around the place! At the moment she is moving herself backwards off the playmat. better go sabe her before she hits some furniture!
-
V - well done on your weight loss! Terrific achievement.
Mel - *hugs* you poor thing. How is your foot feeling now and how did Charlize go with her needles?? Re your srtoller question - a friend of mine has the Mclaren side by side stroller and she loves it - not sure of the name or model though - will find out for you. Wow at the possibility of going to Japan - how much longer has Luke been asked to stay? Surely his work would get you and extra seat so Charlize can sit next to you - if they want Luke to stay longer then they will have to make it as easy as possible for you.
Em - glad you had a great time at the wedding! Some adult time is wonderful isnt it.
Hi to everyone else.
Not much new here. DH went away today - gee I hate it when he does. I feel like I am a much better mother when he is around as I am not so stressed. Just knowing he is coming home each night makes the craziness of the day easier to get through. Oh well no use complaining.
Dinner with bio mum went well. For those who asked I first met her when I was 17 years old - she gave me up for adoption when I was born as she was only 16 years old when she had me. I am so thankful she did give me up as my mum and dad are the best parents ever!! She is a really lovely person but I still get a bit nervous when ever I see her. SHe lives interstate so I only see her once or twice a year.
I had best run as I have to clean up another Jesse disaster. He is at the age where he is into EVRYTIHING at the moment! Cute but frustrating.

Jem

My gorgeous boy has been asleep for over 2 hours!! I have to keep going in to make sure he's still breathing!!
Ha ha...there he goes! So proud of him though!
-
Megan- yay for Lucas sleeping two hours!! Isnt it amazing what makes us happy these days LOL!!
-
Ok Zyon's check up went well he now weighs.... 7.120kgs! OINK OINK!!!
All is going well, everything is great, so Mum dragged me along to another Harris Scarfe SALE with her so I bought.. a fan for over our bed, 8 heavy bottomed scotch glasses (I like to drink my scotch from a nice glass LOL) Um a rubber bottomed silver mixing bowl & some caramel filled Santa's!!! MMMM YUMMY!!!
-
Tracey - Lucas was 7.2 at 4 months so he is an oink oink too! Enjoy the scotch!!
-
Hey guys, just got back from Charlizes needles. She only had 1 thank god, and her next one isn't until she is 4, yey yey yey. She was so brave she didn't even cry. She now weighs 10.00kg. And get this Jack is now 8.55kg, he is more like a hippo, lol ;). He is still my little man though.
-
Wooo Hoo @ all our Fatso little boys! I love his rolly polly thighs, bit like mkine actually!!! LOL
-
Hi there everyone,
I dont think I'll be around much this week.
MIL (2b) has been fighting breast cancer for the last 12 months, and we thought she was getting better. Turns out it has now gone into her spine:(
So we're pretty upset.
Sorry to be a downer.
Hope ur all well
Nicky
-
Thinking of you Nicky! XX
-
Oh nicky, thats aweful news, I hope they can still get at it. Thinking of you and your family xx
-
Hi Nicky,
sorry to hear about your MIL - everyone should go to the breast cancer site and click on the pink ribbon.
-
Hi Nicky - so sorry to hear about your MIL. Thinking of you and your family. Good idea about the breast cancer website Raels - I will go and do that now.
Jem
-
Thanks everyone.
I will give you a quick run down.. It may explain why we are sooooo dis-heartened.
13 years ago, MIL was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy and went through chemo, and came out of it all ok.
Then a few weeks after my miscarriage last year, she was diagnosed with breast cancer again... in the same side that she had the mastectomy. It was in the remaining tissue.
Anyway, shes undergone chemo and radiotherapies, and shes been SOOOO unbeleivably positive the whole time. She holds her family together. Everything was looking so so good. The cancer shrank, her BT;'s were soming back clear as were her bone scans.... until today.
It was shown in a bone scan that it has come back into one of her vertabrae. The one vertabrae is 2/3 taken by cancer. Apparently this is an aggressive form.
This is just such a blow. I love my MIL. Shes like a best friend to me. We are one and the same. We have the same personality and everything. I love her to peices and just feel so blessed to know her.
I am soooo glad that we have Lach now. I know that we can ALL take comfort in him, and draw strength from his presence. MIL is so worried that she wont see him grow up. That she wont see her daughters marry. That she wont meet anymore of her grandchildren as Lach is her first.
I am trying to be the pillar of strength for them all. I know how crusehed they are. I dont know what I would do without her, so I have NO IDEA how her own husband and children feel.
So, thats a short run down. Hence why we are MEGA devastated. It's the worst news ever.
I think that we will be TTC very soon. I really want her to know all of my children, and I want my children to have been in her presence. She is just the lovliest person ever......So sorry. I am in tears.
So, if I'm not already preggers... wish me luck
thanks everyone:)
-
OH Nicky, I hope there is some better news soon, really soon... thinking of you all!
-
Nicky - I am so sorry for you and your partner. Your post was so beautifully written that it is clear that your MIL means so much to you. Whatever happens, i am glad you have this lovely lady in your life xx
-
I put a pic in the photo gallery of a Santa nappy cover I got from Maz! How cool!!!
-
That is so cute Tracey!!
Well we seem to be having success in the new pram! I am so relieved (pity MIL isn't happy for us!) We have been out quite a few times, even shopping and he is so much better. If he does start to get irritable after awhile its so much easier to entertain him when he's facing me. So basically $250 well spent, it was a bargain! We go to Noosa in a week today (YAY!) so i feel so much better knowing we can get out and about without having to carry him everywhere in the heat.
Happy Tuesday!!
-
Nicky - so sorry to hear about your MIL. Good Luck with the TTC and I hope your MIL gets to see your babies.
Avaleigh woke up this morning at 3am, 4am and 5.30am!! ARGH!!! Whats gotten in to her?!?! At 3am she went back to sleep, 4am I put her dummy in and she went to sleep but at 5.30am she was wide awake and rolling around in her cot! I thought giving her some solids last night would help her sleep, but nope!
-
Solids wont help her sleep V, It could be she's reaching new milestones/wonder weeks..
They change all the time..
-
HI all,
Megan vent away. I would be a little disappointed if my MIL did that. It's not his fault, e's a baby he doesn't know any better. fancy her blaming him and calling him a sook.
V I feel the same way about my mum baby sitting too. I also have another thing where my inlaws house is filthy dirty. Plus my mum knows when to give him back. I can't stand it when people insist on trying to calm Xavier when the clearly are getting no where and it's breaking my heart listening to him cry.
You are doing such a great job on the weight loss. I wish I had your motivation. I have to say wow at avaleigh she seems so advanced. Can't sit still like her mum I bet!! Maybe that's why she's awake so early she wants to get going for the day. What time does she go to bed at night?
Tracey, I so agree that everyone else has forgotten what it was like to have a baby and that they are all different. I'm often the only one that can settle xavier because nathan just doesn't realise that he likes to be cuddled tightly and I normally have to shove a dummy in if he's really upset, he then likes to fix on my eyes and hold my hands and we rock from side to side. And really if he's dad can't work it out I don't know how anyone else could.
I think there are also times when a mum just knows that it's necessary to spoil them. it turns out to be more of a treat than a habit iykwim.
Tracey happy birthday to maddy and happy 4 months to zyon. and what a cute nappy cover. he's all set for xmas now.
Zofia, whenever I get one of those clingy days where all he wants is cuddles or feeds and my attention all day, and it's driving me nuts I try to remind myself that it won't be long before I have to steal those cuddles. Being a boy I think I'm going to loose him sooner as he wants to hang out with dad more.
Fran, water over the lap top might get the wrong type of attention
Mel, yay on the possible trip to japan, that would be exciting, not so great on the trecking it on your own though. You will have to get passports for the kids.
Ouchie on your foot. I hope you have had lots of rest and it hasn't got worse.
Nicki, sorry to hear about mil2b, It's fantastic that you both have such a great connection. Good luck with TTC #2. It is tempting for you to be the one in control in such hard times, but don't forget to lean on someone yourself. You don't have to be the strong one all the time. :grouphug: for your family.
Em, lol on hiding behind the couch, that's hilarious I had mental images and everything. I'm glad you had a great time at the wedding, how wonderful that your sister did a great job. She would obviously be a great baby sitter.
Jem, glad the dinner with your bio mum went well. 16 years isn't a huge difference when you get older is it?
Well seeing as we have a mil special happening.
Mine is pretty good but I am dreading the day when I have to say no softdrink and lollies for my baby or he won't come around to see you! Seeing our niece being spoilt by all that stuff and she's not even 2 yet. I figure what hope have I got when my sil (their daughter) can't even stop her parents from giving bad foods. I am trying to teach nathan to be strong enough to say no to these things too. But I'm not a mean mummy, occasionally will be fine, but on my terms iykwim. I'm not silly I know my mum will give him treats when I'm not looking, but she won't give him soft drink, or full strength juice. and she knows she's in charge and what one lollie versus half a packet means.
ok, little man waking after 2 hour morning sleep, we are having a good day.
"Don't forget you might be a mother in law one day!!"

Tracey - new milestones or wonder weeks??!!
Rebecca - Avaleigh has her last feed around 9pm and goes to bed after that. She has been falling asleep on me a bit as she doesnt really sleep in the evening. haha at her wanting to get going for the day - not at 3am tho!!

As she learns new things, rolling, sitting & takes in her new surrpoundings they stimulate her mind (like if you see their eyes going all flickery whilst sleeping) they are learning more about life & what they can do, sense etc...
so they become more alert & their routines as such begin to change...

ONLY 28 SLEEPS TIL SANTA COMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's amazing - now i'm a mum i can get all excited about chrissy again just like when i was a kid
how was the weekend for all????????
V - michael has tried pumpkin, chicken and corn, potato, roast beef, pears adn peaches, and apples (all pureed of course) - they're all the 4-6mth foods available from heinz - he was the same with his farex, he could not have cared less for it, but this other stuff he can't get enough of - he'd eat the whole jar if i let him - they say to only keep it for 48 hours after opening but on the first day i just divide it up into small tupperware containers and freeze them, then each morning i take one out and put in the fridge for his "dinner" that night along with 1/2 - 3/4 of a bottle - i can get maybe 3-4 days out of a jar (althought it's slowly becoming less)
Nicky - soooo sorry to hear about your mil2b - i know how hard it is to watch a loved one battle bc and only wish you could do something, anything for them - all i can say is stay strong - positivity really does help - PINK RIBBONS ALL YEAR ROUND!!!!
Meagn - congrats on the success of the new pram - you must almost feel like a new person - and i totallly back you on the whole scotch front he he he
Em - lmao over the couch incident - i have this image from the opening credits of everybody loves raymond.....he he he
well not much to report at this end - still trying to wind down from our trip away - by the time i've recovered i'll have to do it all again for xmas -
The MIL does seem to be the theme of the week - mines coming to visit for a week next week atm she's in brissy but as of january she's off to nz to study and open up an office branch for her boss - so i guess a week aint so bad - well in general she's alright but there are a few issues that shes a stickler for and never NEVER lets up - me and my df just smile nod and keep it to a minimum or try to avoid those issues all together - i just keep myself busy with housework and out of her way
well until next time ladies have a vegemite smiley kind of day :D
