Hi ladies
I will apologise before i start, so skip it if you like im in need of a bit of a whinge:(! It has been absolute hell in my house hold this last week, Dh is back at work, Everything to do with buying/selling houses has got me soo stressed and i feel atm that i would be happy to live in a cardboard box on the beach, My house looks like a construction site, Ethan wont sleep any longer than 2hrs at night, im soo tired, feel like poo and really feel like the worlds worst mum this week. I think a pause button could really come in handy atm so i could pause life and catch my breath and clear my head! Yesterday i nearly went out my back yard and screamed, lol but what would the neighbours think?? and tonight it all just got too much and i just rang mum asked her to come over and she just gave me one of those mum type hugs while i cried like a baby:cry: Now im so emotional and tear up at almost everything! Okay whinge over! Sorry about that ladies:redface:
Flossie- I too am so sorry to hear about your poppa, huge hugs hun.
V- I cant believe how quickly your wedding has come up! Wow, you must be so excited, i know i am excited for you! Cant wait to see all your lovely photos. Re avaleigh wanting to stand all the time, Ethan does too! My dad went to sit him down on his knee and ethan pushed up on his legs and head butted him!
Bec- I agree with all the other ladies, Your dress is absolutely stunning you looked wonderful. Glad your first trip to the pool went well.
Sara- Worrying is a part of mums "job"!! Glad that kaetlyn is sleeping so well, enjoy it while you can.
Nicky- Yay at lach sleeping so well in his cot:clap: Ethan would only sleep on his belly at birth, now he i have to see what he wants when i put him to bed, it changes each time lol! Main one is on his side atm.
Tracey- Oh zyon looks so cute in his mcn's! How are maddy and indah going?
Zofia- Goodness time fly's, diana is almost 6 months! Glad she like her solids! What a great idea making your own decorations!
Mel- How are you getting along atm and how are those beautiful children of yours? Glad your foots healing nicely. Re TTC still no charting, just going with the flow atm and DTD around guessed ovulation time! having some issues to do with TTC but i wont go in to details here as i have posted in the boo hoo room about it, feel free to read if you like.
Okay ladies have a lovely day tomorrow. Nitey nite.

-
Hey everyone..
OK I am having a freak out here!!
Went for a dress fitting today and I wasnt excited to get in to my dress at all. Oh I think the nerves have kicked in!! I just feel really really weird.. Jason asked me how I am and I said I dunno!! he laughed and said he was having his freak out before his bucks night but now he is ready....
Oh and they need to take my dress in even more!!! I was told by the dress maker to not go to the gym this week and to just relax. How do you relax??!! LOL I've been living in the fast lane for soo long I just dont know how to do it!! I might catch up with some friends during the week and spend time with my sis..
-
Hi ladies
Wow it has been very quiet in here since yesterday afternoon!! I hope this means you all had a great night lastnight and are having a great saturday too:)
Veronica- I started to feel the way you are close to the day too, its just natural hun, you will be fine. DH didnt get nervous at all until he seen us arrive in the limo and as we were early the driver went straight past Lol poor Dh thought i wasn't coming back!! You definately have a challenge re relaxing this week, but make sure you really try, that way you will be relaxed for the big day.
Well i have the damn flu again, i have put it down to the changing weather again, im hoping it wont stick around too long.
I am being called now lol ethans hungry as always.

Hi all,
Sara we have been having something very similar to what you described for the past couple of weeks, and now he's getting really hard to keep awake for more than about 1 hour at a time. MCHN said it sounded like he was getting just the right amount of sleep. Maybe it's the warmer weather they know they need more sleep??
Lol at really liking the new Kaetlyn. Now that toybox sounds like a wonderfull and sweet present, can your fil have a word to my family about appropriate xmas presents, once that don't require batteries and are practical and of course made with love you will have to post a pic of it for us all to see.
Zofia, how cute diana must have really wanted food. But stealing mums biscuits tsk tsk, nip that habit in the bud tee hee. I had mental images of her taking it and quickly shoving it in before you had a chance to stop her.
Glad she liked the avocado.
The St Nicholas day is a good tradition to follow. Not only to teach Diana about your heritage but I also heard recently that with littles you are best to space out presents so they don't get so overwhelmed at xmas with all the gifts.
Jessikah :hugs: it's ok, your allowed to go into the back yard and scream. Your still at your old house right, your going to move you won't have those neighbors for long. I really hope Ethan starts sleeping for you through the night.
Fran & David Happy anniversary for yesterday!!
V, hold on and being nervous you will actually loose more weight. I prescribe you lots of ice cream this week, especially if you find you can't help but exercise. I still am in shock when I consider I lost 3 kg's the week before my wedding, and I didn't exercise, infact I had facials and my nails done and my hair etc etc, things that are relaxing and still lost 3kgs!!! Oh try going to the pool or the beach, I had heaps of fun the other day, and so did Xavier. Avaleigh is such an active little girl she will probably love going to the beach.
Lol, I always do some personals and then forget to bother updating about Xavier.
Xavier has decided that it is time to re-introduce arsenic hour in the afternoons, regardless of how much sleep he has. I think the in laws are a bit put out too 'cause he keeps screaming at them. but he didn't scream at my mum the other day.
We had our 4 month check yesterday. He weighs 6830gms which is apparently the 50percentile (yet that's based on formula fed babies and isn't adjusted for bb feed babies so he's right on track) but he is 65.7cm's long which is the 75 percentile. Now we are both short a$$e$ so who knows why he's taller than average, oh and yes testees still there they haven't dissapered. I know they have to check but it really does crack me up  He passed all his checks with flying colours, except he doesn't roll yet she wasn't worried about that unless he still can't at 6 months. Nathan finished work early and came with us and learned all about our visits to the MCHN. Next time I'll teach him all about immunisations, Muwahhh ah ah ah (she says with an evil laugh. Next time Daddy can get screamed at).
I hope you all have a good weekend. If tomorrow is hot we might take another trip to the pool.
-
Thanks Bec. It does sound like the same thing. And yes after being awake for an hour she has stuck toothpicks in her eye lids trying to keep them open. So doesnt cry when i put her in the cot so i fugure she is ready for nap again.
Such a diffeence......
-
Hi everyone im glad we are all still sane and plodding along. I have a question for those of you that have started on solids- How often do you give them farex? And what time of the day? I gave my DS his first taste of farex today and he LOVED it! But now I am wondering how much do I give him? And also when do you start introducing sweet potato and other foods? And how often do I give him them? Should I just give him a bit of something different every day? Or should I stick to farex for a week then move to something else? Sorry to go on a bit but Im not sure what to do.
Take care everyone

Nay, i found this post the other day when i was looking up starting solids. i thought is was pretty good. check it out. it has other links as well. Starting Solids / Homemade Baby Food - BellyBelly Forums ~ Pregnancy, Birth & Baby
Hehehe
Now I have a question.
When bub is asleep and you need to be somewhere, is it better to wake or to let sleep? Just curious as I have never really been in this predicament before!
Also yah for me. I got up early this morning and expressed at 6am. I got 150ml, and that was stopping tp make sure there was some left for Kaetlyns first feed of the day. now my milk bank has enough for 2 withdrawels before it is in debit!!!
-
Hi All! Wow, things really have slowed down in here. It must be a busy time for everyone I guess. I have DH home at the moment, so that always curbs my online time
nay - I have a little brochure given to my by the health nurse that suggests starting with rice cereal and then trying something new every 5 days or so to be sure there is no allergies. A couple of teaspoons should be enough, once a day for the first 4 weeks as their tummy is still very small and solids shouldn't be replacing milk yet. Most people recommend giving it after milk to ensure they don't fill up on it, but each to their own I guess. I give it in the evening to try and help Autie sleep better, but again, time of day is up to you. Over time, you increase the amount to a few tablespoons or so, and more than once a day. they will let you know when they've had enough. Somewhere between 7 to 9 months, they should be ready to have food before milk, and start a gradual introduction to 3 meals a day with snacks. Good luck!
Well, Autumn is loving having her dad home - she loves to sit and watch the fishing shows with him while I get a sleep in  I bought her a Heinz first sipper cup for her to have a little water now and then and she has no problem with it at all which is great because I'm thinking she might actually take EBM from it better than a bottle on the odd occasion - great size for her to hold too.
Has anyone else noticed their bub getting bored with their toys lately? Autumn is much more into activity centre and pop up type toys - she gets so busy doing her work
Hope everyone is having a calm weekend
-
Oh, and re: the sleeping thing - personally, I would do my best to let Autumn sleep if I didn't have to be somewhere absolutely on time eg. doctor's appointment and such.

Hey everyone,
Fran – congratulations on your anniversary, hope you had a gorgeous day.
V – woo hoo for single digits, just think, this time in a week (ie next Saturday) will be the last day before you’re officially a Mrs
Bec – we have almost twin boys I think – Liam was almost exactly the same measurements at his 4 month check, he also isn’t rolling (and doesn’t appear to be even remotely interested in this), AND we have arsenic hour too! I think that they must learn from the testes checking, cos now Liam does it for himself each time his nappy comes off – such a boy!
Sara – I love the picture of Kaetlyn in your ticker, her eyes look just gorgeous. The toy box sounds fantastic, it’s so lovely to have things that have been made specially for them. Re the sleeping, I’m with Sacha, unless I absolutely have to be somewhere I let him sleep. Means I’m often quite late to social engagements, but I figure it’s only for a few more months, and if my friends can’t understand, well, tough.
Jessikah – I hope you’ve had a better day today – thank goodness for Mums hey. I know how exhausting it is when they don’t give you more than a couple of hours sleep at a time overnight, and it’s easy to feel really alone in the middle of the night, so I hope it gets better for you soon. Liam had only his 3rd complete night of sleep on Friday night (11 hours!!!), which would have been nice except I kept waking up because I hadn’t heard him, and by 4am my bbs were so sore I couldn’t really get back to sleep.
Flossie – I’m a bit behind, but I was really sorry to hear about your Poppa. And happy belated birthday – hope you were able to have a nice day despite the sadness of your Poppa.
Zofia – my mum is a classic at treating me like a stupid kid at times. Her nag at the moment is twofold – has Pat done a will, and is he going to lose some weight, so that he doesn’t have a heart attack like his own dad, but if he does then he’d better have a will (circular argument, it goes on & on). She rotates her nagging around my sisters & brother though, so it’s usually only 1 of us getting it a time. We just wait each of our turns out.
Now, stop reading if you like, cos from here this post is a bit of an OMG whinge/vent. And not a very cohesive one at that. Anyway, as you know, MIL is here for a couple of months, spending part of the time with us, and couple of nights with BIL, despite the fact that he doesn’t actually want her to stay, but that’s another story… Anyway, she’s been in tears today because we’re not letting her settle Liam when he cries and she wants to bottle feed him as that’s what she did with her boys, ie feed them until they were sick then put them into the cot to cry themselves to sleep …. I’ve been soooo good this week, giving her as much time with him as I can, but when it comes to bed time for the night, or if he’s hungry, then I’m the one that gets the job, because at 4 months old I’m quietly confident that ultimately he wants his mum more than anything else. She’s also fixated on taking him out in the pram on her own (see previous post from me, over my dead body), and she’s also upset because she’s got it into her head that she was going to look after him during the day. Not sure what she thinks I’m going to be doing. Whenever he cries, she lets out an “oh dear”, as if he’s naughty & I’m incompetent. Doing my head in, and it’s only been a week. I don’t know if anyone else finds this, but both MIL & my mum seem to want to take over whenever Liam is upset because they want to “help” and to “give me a break”. This is exactly opposite to helping – what really helps is when people are talking and playing with him when he’s happy, so that I can get on with cooking the dinner, cleaning or whatever. I’m stopping now, cos I don’t want to sound like a complete B1tch, thanks for letting me ramble on…
Thank goodness for Belly Belly!
-
Janno27 I totally understand where you are coming from! I know what it is like when you feel like everything you do is wrong when really you just want to cuddle YOUR baby and give him the love he deserves! Stick to your guns!!! Maybe it would help if you write up a daily routine and include Grandma time and cuddle time with mum in the evening! HUGE :hugs: and stay strong

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your messages re: Poppa it was a crappy week. My dad is back from NZ today so my Nan will be sad. But we are going over there on 19th Jan so that is not too far away. Will be Olivia's first plane trip EIK!!!
I am determined to do personals when Olivia goes back to sleep at 1. she is asleep now but I have to go out to Baby Bunting in a min and straight back so DH can mow the lawns - oh how our lives are so structured now :)
Olivia rolled to her tummy for the first time on Thursday and now she does it all the time!!! We weighed her today and she is 7.5kg, last months she was 6.8kg so that is good and she is 66cm tall!!
I still haven't tried the rice cereal again, I am going to try her on some carrot and sweet potato this week though so see how that goes.
V - don't worry about not being excited about your dress. You really can't relax the week before your wedding. You are probably just hoping everything is done and is going to go ok. I think that is why most brides are nervous before their wedding - not because of marrying someone I think it more because you have planned this massive day for so long you want it all to go perfect IYKWIM??

Jan.... I had my IL's here for a month just over a year ago (infact when we found out we were preg!) I love them dearly, BUT... They dont do routine & so we had Indah going crazy everynight & me having to work like 3 days ecah week, Dh was home for 3 wks but we were both at work the last week, so I was so exhausted as on days off we were up early to go to Zoo, Museum, etc etc!!!
It was so exhausting & I'd go into work & be fuming over whatever little thing had upset me that day & posting in here how damned annoying they were....
Anyone in your space & getting in your way is a huge PITA, no matter how helpful they think they are!
My IL's started feeding Indah again, they would sleep with her in the bed & so we had weeks of a screaming kid because of this she had previously hand fed herself & slept OK in her cot!
So whinge away, I have to confess to sobbing my herat out when they left as we werent sure when we'd see them again!!!
Whinge away it'll help the tension a little.....

Hi all,
Sara I am very often in the do I wake him as i need to leave predicament and I still don't know the answer. I guess all you can do is play each time by ear and hope you make the right choice, however I prefer not to wake Xavier.
Sascha last week it felt like xavier was bored with everything me included. I even found that he was sick of being in the lounge room and was happier to be walked around the house.
Jan, lol I was told that once little boys find their genitals thats it they won't stop touching them, lol but that is a very boy thing to do. So far all I have to contend with is Xavier knocking all the things off his change table. Very frustrating.
Jan I here you, i'm right there with you. I'm lucky that my mum will hand him strait back if he's upset, but mil and fil have tried to calm him and they just can't. And it's heartbreaking to hear your baby cry like that when you know it is completely un-necessary. Have you tried getting your mum and you mil to go out and have lunch and your mum can show your mil around or something, sure they will probably talk about you the entire time but hey it will give you guys a break.
We had a photo with Santa on Saturday. he didn't cry which was good. I don't know if he even knew who had him, lol. It was a free one at Harvey Norman, and I bought the $5 pack that gives you a few copies. Now I just gotta find someone to make me an ornament with his name on it and I'll be happy.

Hey ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA lately. Just been soooo busy. Having been trying to keep myself busy while DH is away. Only 12 more sleeps until he is back. Yey!!! I have been reading though, just don't seem to have enough time to write, so will try to now, while the kids are down.
I have been trying to do as much study as possible at nights. But still moving at a very slow rate. Only about 1/2 way through the first module. But I have my first birth penciled in for next July. I'm so excited, she sounds really nice. We are going to meep up in February probably once her kids are back at school, so looking forward to that.
I have also been stuck into the gardens lately. I'm trying to have them done before DH gets back. So far I have cleared them out, about 2 ute trys full of crap. And planted about 30 new plants. Now I'm shopping for a water feature and some rocks for the garden beds. I can't wait to see DH face when he gets back, it looks so different. I just wish I had taken a before shot, because I'm so proud at what I have done.
We had our santa photos done too. Was such a cute pic. will try and download a scanned copy soon.
V, so close to your wedding now, good luck with it all.
Flossie, I give Jack his Farex at night, same time as Charlize has her dinner. Haven't given it to him more than once a day though, will leave this until he is 6 months. Then I will offer him some at breakfast too. Yey on Olivia, rolling over as well and but a champion at her weight gain, she is really thriving.
Rebecca, you will have to scan the pic with santa and post a copy. I had ours done last week too, it was a great shot. Both kids were smiling, Charlize at the camera and Jack was smiling up at Santa, it was so cute.
Jan, Jack as found his too. He loves to grab it and pull at it, so does his sister ;)
See damm it, ran out of time. Sorry to all of those I have missed. BBL hopefully to continue.
-
Mel - i just looked at your Santa photo. It is beautiful! Such gorgeous kids!
I am another who has been and will be MIA. We are moving a couple of days after xmas, so busy, busy, busy. I think last time we moved (years ago before child!) we packed in like two days. I am doing this very slowly while T is asleep.. such fun! Will try to pop back later to hi properly :hello:
-
Mel your photo is gorgeous, I'm afraid mine isn't that good. Xavier is just sitting with a blank look on his face in santas arms. Will scan a copy when I get the bigger one back.
why do busy mums take on more and more and more, although I have to say the rest of you make me feel very lazy, I don't do anything.
-
HI everyone, have been MIA like some others:)
Fantastic news....... MIL does not have cancer in her spine!!!!
We are overjoyed! She had a PET scan today, and the 'mass' is just scarred tissue from her previous lots of chemo.
Oh thank goodness. We can have a happy christmas.
Thanks so much to all of you for your thoughts.
Will be back later to read and report;)
Nicky
-
Nicky - that is unreal news about your MIL. Even though we only know each other in the land of BB, it's put a big smile on my face to hear that she's all okay.
Thanks to everyone for your supportive comments, it's so good to have a "safe" place to vent. I've had a couple of days break, so I'm feeling a little rested, ready to take on the rest of the week with her. I do keep reminding myself that it's only for 2 months, and that she might not ever travel to Aus again, so I'm trying very hard to not sweat the small stuff. And Pat's being great (so far), because he realises that she comes with certain challenges, which is pretty good for a bloke when it comes to his mum.
I put Liam in a grobag tonight, as he keeps escaping from his wraps, so touch wood I'll get a reasonable night's sleep tonight. Time will tell :)
Sorry for no personals tonight, I'm off to do some personals of a different kind - Christmas cards...
-
Hi Nicky - awesome news, your family must be so relieved!
Hi everyone else, have been so busy and not feeling too well this last week. Will try and hop on tomorrow and catch up.
Hope everyone is well!
-
Hi all,
Nicki, yay that's fantastic news!!!
Raels I hope you start feeling better soon. I have been feeling rotten this week and just run down and now I'm starting to question my milk supply.
As said above I'm starting to question my milk supply, xavier is getting fussy and really wants to suck but is behaving like he's not getting enough. I defrost some and he drinks it all even after feeding for a while. When I do try to express I get very little so now I'm on operation increase supply. I've increased my water intake, and happily increased my calories and now I'm doing some pumping as well. Fingers crossed it works because some of my freezer stocks are getting quite low.
-
Hi all
I have been mia as DH is away again and it has been crazy!!
All is good here but that might be because everyone is in bed asleep (touchwood)!!
Nicky- Great news reyour MIL!!
Bec - my friend in Bendigo has just found out she is pregnant and is trying towork out where and with who (ob/midwife) to give birth. Did you have a private ob? I remember you saying you gave birth at the public hospital - were you happy with it?? I have also been worrying about my supply so I might have to take a leaf out of your book and try to increase it!
Raels - how are you feeling? Hope your week has improved.
Em- goodluck with the packing. Are you moving far?
Jan - how did Liam go in his grobag?
Mel - as I said last night your Xmas photo is so cute - gorgeous kids. You have inspired me to brave the crowds and visit Santa!
Hello to everyone else. Sorry about the lack of personals - time is just so precious when DH is away!!
Will try to drop in later to say a proper hello
take care
Jem
-
Hi girls,
Rebecca and Jem - thanks, I am feeling a little better. Just so tired and have been suffering from a bit of anxiety.....arrgh! Think it's cause I've been running around like crazy trying to get everything together for xmas. I know, I'm not the only one!
Regarding the milk supply worries, do you think it could be a growth spurt again for your babies? I think the hot weather plays a big part too, I know Oliver gets pretty frustrated when we have to feed when we're all hot and sweaty. Luckily we have air-con but if we're somewhere that doesnt I know he can be very fussy. Hope it improves for you both.
Oliver is doing really well, I'm going to get him weighed again before the end of the week. I feel like he has put on a lot in the past month, a lot of his clothes are getting very small!!!
We went to Suncorp stadium in Brisbane on sunday night to watch the A-league soccer. Lexxen's under 8's team was chosen to play in the half time break, very cool!!! I was a bit worried about taking Oliver as I knew he wouldn't feed off me with all the distractions so I decided to take a bottle of ebm. He has only had the bottle a few times and it was a while ago so I didn't really know what to expect. Well, he wouldn't drink it, just chewed on the teat! Luckily there was a nice parents room with a tv so I just took him in there and only missed 20 minutes of the second half, so all good!
We still haven't had our santa photo taken yet, might try and fit it in tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well and happy!
-
Hi ladies
I have been mia again and have had another few crappy days....again! Geez i must sound like a broken record, sorry:redface: Well my sister arrived home on monday after being in Qld for six months and met ethan for the first time was a very emotional moment lol she will be home for 6-8 weeks then she will be moving to Qld permanently, so very sad about that. We had a great family day at mums. Then my nanna who has been battling cancer for a year almost 3 yrs now called and she is in remission!! YAY bad news is that she had cancer in her mouth which meant she had to have her false teeth removed and her jaw operated on and had part of her tongue removed so has not been able to have her teeth in for a year and now there is a part of the bone that isn't healing and if it hasn't healed within 3 months then she wont ever be able to have her teeth back:( She also gave us the devastating news that my pop has prostate cancer and it may not be treatable and if not his life expectancy will be less than three years, my heart is just breaking for them both and my mum is a wreck atm having both parents go through this. Ethans sleeping issues are getting worse and he is not eating properly as a result of being too tired, he wakes up for food every 2 hrs at night but cant eat it all as he falls asleep again and during the day he sleeps for no longer than 15-20 mins at a time and screams when its time to go to sleep as he is constantly over tired, so we are now on the waiting list to go for a day stay at sleep school, it could take up to six weeks. Sooner rather than later would be nice i feel as though im burning the candle at both ends!!
Oh dear...Ethans awake again, will BBL to do some personals.
Sorry about the self absorbed post.
-
HI all,
Jemima, I didn't have an ob at all, except the hosi assigned ones which I never saw. In Bgo if you want your own ob to deliver then you have to go private hosi as the public one won't let you bring in any outside people to assist with delivery, just support people. I was happy with the hosi, and from what I've heard your not getting much more at the private except the private room and maybe better food. I didn't care too much about this as the only $$ i shelled out for the entire time were my 2 trips to the gp to get my pg confirmed and referred to the anti natal clinic, so if it's a no probs pg it's cheaper going public. They are also planning to start a monday evening anti natal clinic here for working mums to make it easier I heard on the news last night which is good. Nicki is also from Bendigo and might be able to provide some insite, you can tell your friend that there are a couple of other girls from bgo here too and there is a thread in the victoria section if she's looking for other local mums to pick their brains.
Oh, but if looking for a home birth, alan isn't that far away from bendigo
Raels, I think my supply issues are linked to a few times latley that I haven't been around to feed him and my body has adjusted. I usually have enough milk for him at 9.30pm yet he's hungry at 6.30-7pm, so I have to teach my body to produce at the right time. I know the best way is to just let him feed but he gets angry and cries and cries because he is starving and not getting anywhere, so I am feeding him some of my back supply, or rather dh is and I am pumping at the same time to encourage extra production at Xaviers hungry time.
I hope that made sence, but eg, last night he was hungry, I pumped about 80ml, and he drank 240ml, big difference which is why he was getting so frustrated, so I'm just giving it a helping hand.
Jesikah hugs I hope Ethan starts sleeping for you again. Have you got a bay carrier, or will he sleep in a pram if it's moving. It might be that he just needs one or 2 really good sleeps one day to get him back on track. EG god 2 hour sleep during the day might means he feeds better and then sleeps better and so on and so on??? Isn't it really hard when you just want to go to sleep though and you have to put all that extra effort in too. you need someone to sit up with him while you have a nap and get yourself refreshed so your ready to tackle it all.
What about you both having a nap on your bed, that way you can stroke him and settle him quickly if he starts to stir??
-
Zyon had been waking heaps like 3 or 4 times every night, but last night slept from 9pm til 8am & even then I had to stir him to feed as my left breast was at exploding point!!!
To increase supply increase feeds during the day & let bubs suckle for however long they like!!!
Zy waking in the night & I'd soze with him sucking & would kinda wake with him suckling for 40mins or more! The more they stimulate breast the more the breast makes!!!
I have no time to read to far back, but I hope everyone is doing marvellously!!!!!
-
HOwdy all.
Just a wuick one for me I am buggered and about to do the 'sleep while the baby is alseep' thing (have never done it before)!
Has anyone elses bubbas taken to sleeping on their side or front? Kaetlyn has, and we are forever turning her over. Side sleeping I am okay with, but its the stomache sleeping I am reakky scared about.
I have just incresed my supply- to build up my milk bank. Yeah me, I am now ready for two night outs of milk! MIL has Kaetlyn this sat night, as it is aarons work chrissy party, so have two feeds ready in freezer- each of 220ml- I hope that is enough- as I have never really given her a full bottle before.
Hehehe Bec, now I have to get up every morning to express, cause that is what I was doing for three days. not sure if I will stop, or continue to express and build up a stock.
Now i must remeber to remind MIL
1-NO HONEY ON DUMMY
2-NOTHING IN THE MOUTH EXCEPT FOR EBM ESPECIALLY MASHED UP PEAS!!! - I had a dream the other night that she gave KAetlyn mashed peas when she looks after her for the first time as she keeeps saying i should try her on farex.:wall:
3-NO ROCKING HER TO SLEEP- SHE MUST SETTLE HERSELF IN THE COT- and to let her cry, as she is after attention when she is on the cot and she will stop shortly.
do you think these rules are fair? anyhting else i should tell her? I am getting nervous as we will be about an hours drive away in the city.

The rules are good, however dont expect her to abide.... LOL

Aw Jess you poor thing.. If i lived in the same state as you, i promise i would come around and take Ethan so you could have some rest. Do you have a baby carrier? Mine was an honest to god lifesaver. Tom would sleep while i did housework, shopping, anything. Hopefully you can get into sleep school soon. I think one of the girls that posts on BB went recently - Tanstar, i think her name is - maybe you could PM her for some handy hints?
Blue - you crack me up. I love the MIL rules. I think they are the same as the ones i give mine but i also say 'no sugar in his bottle'.
Well, i am sick of packing and i havent really even started packing. Jem, we arent moving far - just a few streets away. At the moment i am preparing to start packing by throwing away tonnes of junk and anything left is what has to be packed. I am going to have to hire a skip i think. I have a lot of junk.. DH cant understand why i save magazines like all my pregnancy mags and old cooking mags. I said its if i need to use them one day - then he found my collection of bridal mags - that didnt go down well! I dont keep those ones for future reference - i just like to look at them!!
I was cleaning out the laundry and found a huge Coles bag of food that i had put out there when i was pregnant - you know like every week, i would buy treats like biscuits and chips and stuff so would have a nice stash of food for 'when the baby comes' - five months later i have found it! I completly forgot about it. I had hidden it because DH is like the cookie monster and doesnt believe it saving anything food-wise. If its there and he wants it, he will eat it. Oh well, at least i will have lots of yummy food for the people who help us move!
Better be off, i have people coming through the house in 10mins and T is still asleep. I was hoping to be out of the house but doenst look likely. Bye!

TOJ - are you BFing? Could it be a lower supply that is making him frustrated and sleep less? Hope not, hugs for you both.

Hi everyone,
no time for personals at the moment, as I've got crazy boy who won't sleep on my lap, and expecting MIL back any time now. So really just popping in to see how everyone's going.
A good thing for me - Liam appears to have really taken to the grobag. I've had two great sleeps in the night (till 4.30, which is great for him), plus long day sleeps in it too, all without being wrapped within an inch of his life. So I'm hoping that it persists like this for a few more days, then I can conclude that we've entered a new phase, rather than it just being a fluke :)
anyway, fidget bottom says I've been on here for too long, so better go - BBL

Hi all,
Tracey I have been letting Xavier feed and suck away when he wants, but the problem is he cracks it with me 'cause he's hungry and nothing is coming out, and we have full on screaming for sometimes 3 hours and the only thing that makes him stop is me getting some ebm and feeding it to him. I don't plan to do this for long really just to kick start the increase and then let him increase it etc. I will see how much I can get tonight, hopefully it has started taking effect because I have definetly felt fuller today.
Sara, if you get sick of it just express enough to feel comfy and it will start to regulate. Like tracey said don't expect the rules to be abided by. I would stress least about the food being given as if kaetly drinks that much milk while your gone, she will just spit out anything mil offers her. Maybe remind her that they have found now that honey should not be given until kids are over 12 months and they even suggest steralising the honey, that will stump her into not doing it maybe. I'd relax on the rocking to sleep, it's one night and if kaetlyn doesn't go to sleep she will soon get sick of holding her
I would focus on one rule and not let her think that you don't trust her iykwim,
Just write down your mobile phone numbers nice and big by the phone, but don't tell her they are there unless she asks.
em, pmsl on the bridal magazines, you never know you might want to use them one day ;)
