Jess, I havent had one yet,when I had my 6 week checkup with the OB, he asked is I wanted one, but I declined. He had to do an internal check to see if I had healed so I sould have siad yes, as he was up there anyway LOL!
MAybe call the doc if you are concerned about the bleeding. I usually spot for a couple of days after anyway. Have you had your periods back yet?
I am going to check out little ethans site when I finish this.

Megan- cook the mince with a little bit of water-broil it. Just like adding oil, but using water instead.
You can freeze it once. So from fresh you can freeze it, defrost it, cook it and refreeze it. but once its defrosted the 2nd time it cant be refrozen ie it can only be frozen once in each state- cooked and uncooked. Does that make sense?

Sacha, you do the same asme with cooking- I always leave some in pieces for her to feed herself. It is good for the speech development to get chunks and chew themselves.
I was searching on the net about acid burns and all I could find was to wash with lots of water. Which I had done. It is all better now though thanks!

For those that were asking, thankyou I am much better- my hand was stinging all night, but was okay in the morning. Didn't even leave a mark on my hand though :( DH told MIL about what happened. she asked for it back to take back to rebel. stupid thing is in the big bin and there is no way I am getting it out. Hurt just the little bit that I got on my hand. I dont think that they will replace it as it was tha batteries not the actual radio thing. They were the batteries that came with it though. I said to DH, thats why nothing comes with batteries anymore. We were so lucky that he wasnt covered in the acid and it splattered the other way, or that he wasnt using it at the time.

Wasp sting update- will my nose tip is still bring red and a bit tender, Looks funny! Rouldolph isnt ment to be here this time of year!
I called the silly old witch of a neighbour (thats what we called her when we were growing up, sorry- but she used to steal our tennis balls when we were kids playing with them in the street), anyway, she said 'I know its there, we saw some wasps when we were out in the garden a while ago'. THEN she asked me how to get rid of them. WHAT THE???? Call the pest control people :doh::doh::doh: I said.
I thought I was being nice just letting her know about them so she didn't get stung either. Last time I do something nice!!!!! It was her stupid bushes I was cutting back in the first place so I could drive my car up the drive without scratching the car.
ETA-- the nest was the size of my hand, on her tree, inside her fence!

Sacha - thank for that!! That has helped me alot. Time to make some different food for Avaleigh cause she has had the same stuff for a while now.

Jessika - I had my pap smear in december and it didnt really hurt and I didnt bleed afterwards. But I am guessing that it would all be different down there after birth so the pain could be normal! I have just came back from a gyno appointment cause my pap smear showed some 'abnormal cells' and so I had some samples taken and THAT hurt!!! I had my legs up in stirrups and my twat was magnified 30X!!! LOL

So how is everyone?? Are there any pregnancies in the group or anyone trying to conceive at the moment??? I was having this discussion with my mum today with when I want to start trying again and I am soo undecided!! I was planning in October after a friends wedding but her wedding is now postponed caused she is 4 months pregnant. Its postponed until Jan or Feb.. I know I shouldnt work around the wedding but its in the cooke islands and I want to go diving and cant do that when pregnant. And money is a bit tight and our house is too small for another child and there are so many reno's I want to do around the house so I am really not sure what to do.. I think I just wont think about it until after Avaleigh is 12 months old!!

Well better go and get dinner organised..

Jem, yes it does make me sad that she suffers. I did give in and try cortisone about two weeks ago but since stopping it she has flared up worse than ever. I'm currently trying the chickweed compound so she smells like a campfire but it seems to relieve the inflamation quite a lot. Fingers crossed it continues to help. It's great that you are excited about work - bet you will miss the kids! We are the same when Dan is home - I don't like to make plans if I can avoid it so we can just be a family for a while. Though at least he gets two weeks off now so we can fit a bit more in.

V - no problem. Have fun experimenting! We are waiting until 12m to TTC ... but things don't always go to plan so who knows? :)

Sara :( Hope your Rudolph nose goes away soon! Talking of neighbours, mine is an 81yr old ex soldier with a poodle named Rhonda who is very difficult to end a conversation with (nice enough but my goodness he can talk!) He knocks at my door to tell me the people 4 doors down are selling passionfruit plants and I should pop down. I'm like 'oh Autumn is sleeping at the moment but thanks anyway'. And he says 'she'll be right while you just pop down won't she?' Ah, no John, maybe in your day you could leave your baby alone in the house but the world just ain't the same place! And besides, I didn't want passionfruit plants! .... that was all a bit rambly huh? Oh well.

Jess, I can't say I've ever bled from a pap smear. I think it has only ever been uncomfortable not painful - but I had a CS too.

Mel, No not too far away I'm at Mount Cotton so not far from Vic pt at all! This is pretty good the Pixie photos Noah had at 5.5months were about $400 and for those gorgeous photos I think that was well worth it!

We are planning on trying when Noahis 12months too. We said 2 years apart now Phil is saying NO MORE THAN two years apart and he doesn't want them born in the same month so he wants to try at 12months (that is planning on me getting pg immediately again)

Thanks for the nice things you all said about our eating and sleeping. Eating is 100% better. We ended up going to the doc and got prescribed some antibiotics, which have obviously helped, 'cause he's eating much better. Still has a cough but hopefully that clears up soon.

Raels, we have lots of backward movement too, yet no forward motion. Xavier is getting good at sitting up though.

em don't feel guilty about child care. they keep publishing all this stuff about how it's so much better to stay home, but all those studies are from other countries and Australian studies actually indicate that our child care is of a very high standard. Just think of the socialisation as well.

V, I'm right there with you on those sort of sleep patterns. A really bad night for us consists of only sleeping for 2 hours at a time. I will be no help to you, but am looking forward to seeing what others say. Congrats on the huge weight loss!! re the food, you could add some stuff to what you already have like meat/cheese/rice and pasta. Xave is bored with plain vegies too and after our recent food rejection really doesn't want any home made mummy food, and prefers jars instead. He is quite fond of the tomato based ones.

Sara, hugs, I hope you start having a better time soon. Well when it rains it does seem to poor

Nicki, a very proud grandma showed me a new pic of lach yesterday. He is looking very cute. What is he up to now, crawling. I noticed he was sitting up in the pic.

Sacha, I give xavier cruskits, he really likes them. I just give him a plain one, but a whole one 'cause it's nice and easy to hold, plus i'm too lazy to cut it :lol: They are messy enough by themseves though, they are like glue once they disolve. I have also been giving xavier wedges of rockmelon or apple, they are a little messy and slippery but he gives them a red hot go and they are not as soft as banana so they stay in one piece longer.

Jess, I havent had a pap smear yet, don't have to till august so i'm not until then. but the last one I had was painfull and I spoted so your not leaving me with much hope for this one.

TTC #2 no changes in plans here, first house, must be in before Xave is 2. My only pre-requisite is that we have #2 before I'm 30. so will probably wait until around the 2 year mark. maybe a little earlier.

What is Xavier upt to??
Well he is almost sitting up by himself. this is a fairly new trick.
He is trying his damdest to crawl but is stuck in reverse still.
He has had an infection and we are almost finished the antibiotics.
I am hopeing that once this cold/infection is gone and the weather sorts it's self out he might start to sleep again, as a good night consists of 5 hours at a time a bad night is 2 hours at a time.
We are eating lots of different foods now, and love to hold foods in his hands.

Well better go, DH is stuck at the front door with someone trying to sell him something and xavier is sooking, scratch that, he got rid of the guy at the door.

well best be off anyway, see if we can get this kid to sleep, controlled comforting is not very good for this mum, and I swear Xavier would cry all night if we left him too. I don't think i'm soft, it's just way too emotionally and physically draining when you are cryed at for hours!!

Sacha- LOL at the neighbour. We just had freinds move in next door, and the girl is really sweet, she messages me to see if it is okay to pop over. Lol today she brought a plate of cheese and biscuits with her (she is preg though!).
Maybe oneday you might be grateful you have an neighbour that notices all the bargins in the street! :lol:
Hehe oh and my nose is still red, have no idea when it is going to go back to normal, at least it doesnt hurt as much now!!

I ended up going to the dr as the bleeding got really heavy and i was a little worried as i was in the 2 wk wait, and was getting some bad cramps but i was so embarrassed to find it was just my period! Pap-smear was awful for me as my Dr did it when I was still have issues after Olivia's birth and I dread the next one!!

So not trying for No.2 for a number of years, I want to be able to give Olivia my 100% attention before the next comes along and I want her to be older to understand babies etc I have a friend whose son is 5 1/2 months and she is pregnant again! I envy them, but I couldn't do it so close.

Not sure if I am going back to wor yet, the amount of money I spend I probably should hehehe but I don't want to and I am too nervous about leaving Olivia with strangers at Child Care, I am not against CC and will do it in the future but I am nervous right now - who knows, I may not change from that and never return to work hehehe

Hi girls...

I have had such a crappy start to the day!! It all started yesterday when putting avaleigh to bed.. In bed at 8pm, YAY early for once!! But she woke up at 9pm again, so gave her a feed and back to sleep. Then she starts screaming down the monitor at midnight. Up I get again and pick her up and she gives me a great burp, put her back in to bed and she screams some more. So on the boob for a feed, and she falls asleep and back to bed. Awake again at 1am, screaming down the monitor. I try and settle her by cuddles and rocking and put back in to bed. Nope, screams some more and starts getting hysterical. I lay down on the couch with her laying on my chest and she falls asleep. Back in to bed she goes and so do I. But nope, screaming down the monitor again 10 mins later. So up again I go and offer another feed, she falls asleep and then sleeps through to 7am. AHH!! Get up, absolutely buggered, feed and back to bed again but onl for 30 mins. All I wanted to do was have a sleep in!!!

And you know what the worse thing is???? Jason was waking up too when Avaleigh was screaming so he knew what I was going through so why didnt he come and try and put her to sleep?????!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way that I can complain because he is working really hard these days trying to support us both so I dont need to go back to work.

And to make things worse, I say good morning to my stingray this morning and she has lost her WHOLE TAIL!! THe stupid eel decided he would have some stingray tail for breakfast again. This is the second one he has gotten, you would think Jason would learn and get rid of the eel after the first one he killed. But nope.. still in the tank so there goes another stingray. And she was soo cool, you could hand feed her and she would let you pat her and everything. So upsetting!!

Oh and my stupid b*tch of a dog decided she would rip up her couch last night and now I think that Avaleigh has got a stinker in her nappy.

My nephew and his girlfriend had a baby boy last night but poor thing was only 25 week pg. Doctors are giving him an 85% chance of surviving so that's great news I think. It will be just be one day at a time though. Don't really know much more just yet so fingers crossed that he will be a fighter. :pray:

Veronica- You poor thing, hope you get some rest today and maybe a little sleep. what a PITA about the stingray, i remember when you told us about the other one, poor things. Your dog sounds like mine lastnight she ripped up her pillows everywhere!! Oh and we are TTC bubba #2 now we started in November as we want ours close. hopefully it wont take as long this time though.

Well I have been up cleaning all morning, i have been finding it so hard to stay organised lately lol its like i spend all day running around picking toys up!! Ethan has been sooo cheeky lately, we have one room in the house that we dont let him go in and its our study and the cat run has been built off of the study window so there is a cat flap in the window and i really dont want him to try and get out of it and get stuck! Well he has taken off to full speed crawling up the passage towards it and i say ethan, no and he will stop and look at me (does this a few time) then he will just take off and i have to chase him and he starts laughing!!!:lol: So cheeky but so cute too!

Okay well i better go, get ethans lunch put him down for a sleep and then im going to weed my garden! BBL

Raels, that's terrible praying for the little bubs and her mum and dad!

V, thats no good! I have this ebook that a lady from mothers group sent it out to us all and although I haven't read it yet one woman from mothers group was having major probs with bub sleep and had to go to a sleep clinic anyway she read this book and she said it worked immediately and her son was 6months old and he hadn't slept through the night yet. I fyou want just pm me and i'll email it through. Maybe it's teeth or something?

Bec - Sounds like Xavier is doing well. Hope he is getting over his infection. As bad as it seems now, children in childcare end up with better immune systems so at least that's a plus. Interestingly, also children who grow up on farms and those with a few older siblings - apparently because of exposure to minute quantities of faeces...

Lis - Livvy also sounds like she is doing super well - lots of clever skills in there! Like you, I would like to wait until Autie is at least 2 or preferably 3 before number 2 comes along but unfortunately due to age and fertility issues, I can't afford to wait that long to TTC so I will have to take what I get!

Em -have a great (easy) time away :)

V - Hope you get a better sleep tonight. It isn't unusual at this age for them to go haywire with teething and all, but that doesn't make it easier does it? Just know that she's not capable of manipulating yet so she really does need your mummy love. Sometimes it helps if you think of it as special time for just you and her. Sorry to hear about your stingray - she sounded like a sweetheart.

Raels - how exciting and scary at the same time for your nephew and his gf. 85% sounds like a fantastic ray of hope for that age! Remind them to touch him as much as they can :pray:

Jess - I know what you mean about staying on top of things - sooooo much harder with the crawling and teething and clinginess! I never get a chance to do those big organising jobs like cleaning out the study or re-organising cupboards anymore :( It's hard enough keeping up with the mess from 3 meals a day - none of them mine!

Re: sleeping. I know they talk about it a lot in these forums, but I just now borrowed Pinky McKay's book "Sleeping Like a Baby" from the library and I really have to recommend it. It has done wonders for me in just making me feel better about myself, and not worrying about what babies are apparently 'supposed' to be doing at any given age sleepwise. It gives you a great perspective on coping with the bad times too. Give it a go if you are feeling stressed in this area for sure, especially if you have information overload and can't decide what's 'right'.

Mum and Dad dropped in tonight at bath/bedtime and while I was feeding her to sleep in the bedroom, mum made me dinner. Oh my goodness, it tasted 100x better than it actually was just because I didn't have to do it! Such a nice surprise, especially after a day of teething/eczema grizzly barnacle baby. :)

Sacha- Your poor little autie, i hope her eczema clears up again soon, it must be terrible for you to see it affecting her like it is. I hear you on the clingyness as ethan has been real bad this afternoon. I have been meaning to get hold of Pinky's sleeping book and you have just reminded me lol i forget so much lately!! I will have to remind myself after the long weekend.

Well ethan has been a bit of a sooky lala this afternoon:D but i know its because he is missing his daddy, he was a lot better this time as i got dh to put him down for his morning nap and kiss him and say goodbye etc instead of taking him too the door as last time he kept going back to the door looking for him. Today my SIL came over and when her DP came to get her ethan heard a male voice and looked around saying Dad Dad!! He is only used to his pop being here so i guess he thought it was DH!

We are having a few routine issues at the moment so starting tonight i have started a sort of timed routine to try and get him to settle in to a proper sleep routine, as he is currently sleeping at all odd hours of the day and night, i put him into bed at 7.30pm and he went with out a hassle which is unusual so am happy with it so far. But on the good side of things if today is anything to go by i think my little garbage guts is back :dance: he had weetbix, toast and juice for breakky, followed by milk, a biccie and grapes for morning tea and milk, lunch was a vegemite sandwich and fruit and juice, had some more grapes and rockmelon for afternoon tea and milk, then for tea had sweet potato, zucchini, brussel sprouts and fish!!! He eats more than me lol!

Ok got to go master ethan is awake and demanding a bottle!!

Goodmorning Ladies:)

Omg it is so cold and wet at the moment we have had hot weather for weeks, and yesterday was quite hot, now it raining, the weather has been crazy!

Well ethan slept so well lastnight, he slept from 7.30pm - Midnight!! He woke at 9.30pm but i thought he was hungry but when i went in he was crying in his sleep and he didnt wake up. Then he slept from 12 - 4am and slept from then till 8.30am he has been waking 3-4 times lately!! YAY.

Well i best go, me and ethan are going to my parents for lunch today and im still in my pajama's:D

The baby is doing well. He was 2 pound 11 ounces and 36 cm long!!! Soooo tiny but the doctors are saying that he is bigger than the average 25 weeker so he has that on his side! He has gotten through the first 48 hours and the doctors are really pleased with his progess. :clap: I am going to see them on Monday as they are up here in Brisbane.

Hope you all have a lovely first Easter with all your bubs! I wonder how many will get their first taste of chocolate!! ;) Mine will get his next year.

Raels- thats wonderful news about your nephews baby boy, fingers crossed he keeps progressing well. How are they coping? i hope they are ok. I have decided that i will let Ethan have a little taste of chocolate tomorrow, but just a tiny bit, then i will eat the rest lol!! I have been so bad with chocolate lately and i still want more:redface:

Well Ethan has reached another milestone!! He stood up all by himself!! He has been trying for a bit but at mums today he was standing up playing with the curtains for over 60 second, i got a huge lump in my throat! My boy is growing up:( He also is holding on to furniture and side ways walking along it!! Its a scary thought that the next step is walking, omg he will be into everything lol!

Well i wanted ethan to have a sleep around 10-11am today then again around 1.30-2pm so that he would be ready for bed around 7.30pm BUT he was so excited playing with his poppy that he didnt sleep this morning and only slept for half an hour this afternoon, he was so so tired but i managed to hold him off till 7pm before i put him to bed so im hoping it doesn't take to long for him to adjust to a routine after not having one for awhile, he seems ok so far though.

Ok well i will leave it at that, Have a lovely easter day tomorrow and i hope you all get lots of choccie!! BBL:)

OMG Ethan has been soundly sleeping for 2 and half hours!!! WOO HOO!!
This routine stuff is going great so far!! Lately his day sleeps have been 1 - 1.5hrs max. :dance::clap:

Well I'm not feeling very well at the moment bad headache and really tired if I didn't have AF i would be suspicious!

Noah has been a bit off too he had his breakfast bottle at 7.30 and at 10.30 he had his solids but no matter how hard we tried he wouldn't drink his bottle then 1.30 he had his solids and took til 3 to have his bottle and then he had a sleep til 5.30 so a long sleep and then had solids and now won't have his bottle againso thinking he might have a bit of something??? Any ideas?

P.S just noticed I cracked the 400 mark with my posts! Don't have many posts considering how long I've used the site for I suppose I tend to read more than I have things to say!

I hope the chocolate delivery came to everyones house!

DH and I didnt do easter this year. We figured that we had better things to spend our money on. MIL brought us stuff though. Kaetlyn got some toys, and clothes!

Nothing much happening here, the people behind are having a party, the third one this weekend. Not happy Jan! The music goes straight through to Kaetlyns room, and it is really really loud tonight. On friday night we had to take her for a drive at midnight to get her to sleep. she was getting to sleep but the noise was waking her up, so we drove until we knew she was deep in sleep, and it worked. fingers crossed she is okay tonight. I have just put her down, so hopefully she will get to sleep okay.

She has been busy pulling herself up. When ever she gets to her feet, she gives a big smile like she is proud of herself! Her favourite words are Mamamama and pfffffffffff. DH is abit upset that she still isnt saying Dada, as everyone told him that babies always say dada first!

Jas- :( on AF- atleast your problem is solved on why you dont feel good!. Do you give bottle first always? How many is he on a day now? Sorry cant really help. I am still BF and KAetlyn only has two solid meals a day.

TOJ- great work on the routine! Glad to hear that he had a good sleep! I hope that you are getting rest while you can as well. :lol: that he woke up. hehe next time, come and let us know after he has slept for a long time, you might not jinx yourself then!!!

Sacha, glad to hear you had an awesome dinner. maybe you should drop a few hints as to how good it was, to have a dinner cooked for you!!!

Hey Ladies!!

I hope everyone had a great easter. Mine was pretty good. Had good food a few drinks, some chocolate and felt mighty sick after it all that I needed a nap!! hehe We had easter at my sisters and next year it is my turn. I made pavlova and brought it over there, I have more in my fridge and tempted to eat some more but still feeling a little off... maybe a bit more chocolate instead :lol:

We've had a break through here!! Avaleigh has slept through the night for two nights now!! YAY! First night she slept through til 5am, which I thought was pretty good cause she went back down until 7am. And then this morning she slept through to 7am!! YAY Looked like I had a boob job when I woke up in the morning though :lol: Lets hope we can make it 3 nights in a row. I am making much more an effort in getting her to burp and this seems to be helping.

I'd say Avaleigh will be walking by herself soon. I think by 10 months she is really going to be walking. We now have her on the walking frame, so much easier than walking her around!! And she can stand by herself with no support for about 10 seconds and then she realises she is doing it herself and freaks out a little and plonks back down. What a clever girl!! I have her on the video camera walking with the walking frame, must get it off one of these days..

Well going to go crash on the couch. NIGHT!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter Day with you bubba's.

Ethan did have his first try of chocolate today and well he had a lick and wasnt really interested, he had more fun throwing it around:D Im pretty happy with that though because i dont really think i want him to be a chocohlic like me:p

I am a bit annoyed at my IL's though as i said please dont get Ethan eggs as he wont be able to eat them, i told them that i got him a tiny egg that he could have a little taste of but that's it. Well between Mil, Step Fil and sil ethan has like 10!!! chocolate eggs:doh: One of them is a big football one! Grrrr and they kept trying to give it to him, and i said not too and they told me im cruel!! Luckily he wasnt interested and crawled off to play. The upside is that i will eat them for him lol I didnt get a visit from easter bunny this year! DH forgot.

Veronica- Welldone Avaleigh!! I bet you feel a bit more human now you have gotten some sleep! Im sure half the time i walk around with my eyes closed. I think ethan might be walking by 10 months too!

Sara- Lound neighbours are real PITA hey, we have them too, hopefully they stop soon so you can all get a goodnights sleep.

Jas- hope you and Noah are feeling better. Im not much help either im afraid, ethan is good with his bottles, just solids that he is a bit funny with but in his case i think its teething thats bothering him.

Well i must be off, pretty tired tonight, been sorting our guest/junk room today as thats where everything was shoved when we moved in and its still there lol and we have people coming to stay in a few weeks!!

Good morning!!!

I feel sooo much more awake today. 3 nights of sleeing through!! YAY!! I did hear one cry on the monitor at midnight and thought that the sleeping through was good while it lasted but I didnt hear anything else so went back to sleep! So we are both feeling good this morning. Its amazing how if she doesnt sleep through the night she wakes up grumpy like me. haha

Anyway, better go and get her breaky sorted cause we are going out on a family outting soon. Unfortunately Jason needs to work, but I am sure we will have more fun with out him..

V ~ Oh thats great news about Avaleigh's sleeping! :clap: Well done! Hopefully it's just a matter of making sure that wind is up before she goes down now. :D

Raels ~ I hope your nephews little bubba continues to do well so he can come home soon.

Jess ~ Good luck with Ethans routine. Sounds like he was spoilt with all that chocolate even though it was pretty pointless! The thought was nice though I suppose.

Sara ~ We get that a bit here too from people partying across the road. They like to party every weekend too.

Jas ~ Hope you are feeling better today. I understand what you mean in regards to Noah and his bottles. Lucas did the same thing while solids were being established, and I know Megan's Lucas did too. I decided to offer just 3 X bottles a day instead. 3 x 250ml is still a good amount, with juice and water in between to keep him hydrated. Then just when I had that sorted he had a huge growth spurt and was back on 5 bottles again last weekend! :doh:

Well my little boy is all over the place ATM. His teeth have given him no trouble at all but one came through on saturday and he has been agitated ever since! He has also had a bit of a gastro overload this weekend, trying meat, fish and weetbix for the first time. I think it has been a bit much on his tummy so will take it easy with plain fruit and veg this week.

He is in his jolly jumper at the moment. He has been full of beans and not wanting to go to sleep all weekend despite not feeling 100%, so its been an exhausting weekend!

It's a gorgeous day here today so we are going for a walk along the breakwall and to take Lucas for a swim at the beach.

AMM- The gastro might be caused from his teeth coming through. I know some babies get violent smelling runny #2 when their teeth are on the move. Just a thought :)

I have a lil Man Bayleigh matheu who was born 24th july 07
He has only slept through the night 2 in 8 months and im starting to pull my hair out i have contact my health nurse to discuss sleep school but i cant ge tin ot see health nurse till next month... He goes to bed about 8pm wakes at 1130 and from then on its every hour on the hour so im not managering very much sleep at night
Has anyone got any ideas i can try on how to get him to sleep more??????????
I never had this problem with my daughter as she slept through the night from the time she was 2 days old

Well on a happier note.... bayleigh crawls everywhere and now walks along the furniture has stood alone for about 40 secs and has learnt how to climb
Caught him ontop of the coffee table last week and on good friday caught him tryin to climb the dining room chair and have fotos of him tryin to climb the TV cabinet ...... he is goin to be sooooo much trouble when he is actaully walking lol

Welcome Sarah and Bayleigh! What a nice name for a little boy. Is he BF or FF? What is his feeding like? Is he on solids? Could he be windy? Cold? Waking up from some noise? How is his sleeping during the day? Just asking to get a general idea and so may be able to help you out! Looking forward to getting to know you and your little man more. My DS was born two days before on the 22nd July.

Have not been for that walk and swim yet, been procratinating and playing video games. :lol:

um Bayleighs FF He has between 3-4 250ml bottles a day as he has solids 3 times a day breakfast, lunch , dinner... He's not windy... We live in mildura and at da moment no chance of him getting cold LOL if anything he could be gettin hot but we have aircon goin in da hallway n fan on low in his room n blowing in diff direction to him as to not have it blowing on him... Through the day he sleeps pretty well he'll have a 2-3 hour sleep in the morning n sumtimes have a 2 hour sleep in the afternoon but not very often... its just strange as he wakes at da same times every nite ...

Sounds like he is eating and day sleeping like a champion. Have you tried a dreamfeed? Where you feed him late in the evening (without waking him) before he wakes up, say at 10.30pm? It might only prolong his sleeping for a couple of more hours but it may be a couple more for you which would be great! Aim to cut out one night waking at a time, its less pressure on you to get him to 'sleep through'. Maybe a cuddly might help? If he misses you and wants your company maybe a blanket or toy (wear it down you top for awhile so it smells like you!) might help him settle or self settle if he wakes?

Xavier slept from 9.30-630 last night !!!!!!!

jess, there is nothing to be embarressed about,as you said you wern't expecting your period yet, so it wasn't actually normal for you. You did the right thing. Wow eathan eats a lot. I just started giving xavier a little baby pasta in his meals and mushed up instead of pureed and he got a little backed up, so i had to switch back to pureed apples for a day.

Floss, glad to hear all is going well at your end. No need to rush back to work, I wish I hadn't had to. But it's not because of xave going to CC or me havinf to work, I think over all, it's that I would have more time for me above anything else.

V, hugs on your yucky day. Get it out 'cause it does feel better. Next I wouold like to welcome you to my world for the last hmm month or so. I hear you on the dad's getting up and helping, but I have had nathan helping and it's really not much help. I have finally got xavier better over the last couple of days 'cause I knew I didn't have to get up and go to work, so my sleep didn't matter as much.
My biggest fear now is that after a couple of days of CC he will be back to his old tricks.

Raels, thinking of your nephew and his family. I hope the little tacker gets strong very quickly. No chocolate here, I think we have a sensitive tummy, chocolate might hurt. Hot cross buns on the other hand, he loves to suck on the fruitless one. doesn't actually ingest any, but it sure is fun.

Sacha, funnily enough I don't think Xavier is getting his colds/infection from CC. I swear nathan always has some sort of chest infection (he dissagrees), plus MIL was on antibiotics for something recently. I always have a snuffy nose. Fingers crossed though that he does build up good immunity.

Jas, Xavier has been confusing me with food/milk latley. sometimes he wants them at the same time, but these days on the whole we actually alternate. First thing in morning i offer milk. wait about 30 mins, then offer breakfast. I send 2 bottles to creche and he will normally have about 10.30ish. he has vegies around lunch time and then another bottle in the afternoon, then home for tea, after tea he might have one or 2 more milk feeds. I have found he will go anywhere from 3-7 hours in between milk feeds.

Sara, I think Xave has had choc flavored milk for the last 7 months :lol:

Sarah, hi, Xavier has been sleeping badly as well, and i think that it's been a bit of everything with him. The major contributing factor for us I think is that he is over tired. MCHN also said that he might have formed som habits that we have to break. We are in Bendigo, and the weather has been horrid here latley and xaviers sleep first started getting mucked up at the begining of summer. The last few days have cooled down and he has much improved on the sleep front, now that I can tuck him in nice and tight!!
Was your first bub a summer or winter baby. Xavier hates the heat but too much aircon and he gets angry.

Well we had an alright easter. we have had sleep, and chocolate, not Xavier. He was given chocolate and anything that was a nice brand I ate, and anything else like the stuff that comes in the boxed sets like the bunikins ones I chucked strait in the bin, 'cause that stuff tastes awful.

Back to work for me tomorrow. Fingers crossed he sleeps at creche so he's not overtired tomorrow night and wants to be cuddled all night. I admire anyone that is woken more than once a night and can keep their calm. I already have on of those thoughts, I won't do that with the second bub, and that is go back to work at 6 months. It's so much harder to get a good sleep routine. It's like I don't know when to put him to bed anymore, and I have to re-learn everything again and again.

august moon: bayleigh does have a cuddly toy he sleeps with i used to spray my perfume on it(not directly on it) but i think the last time i washed it ( 2 weeks ago) i havent sprayed it... so im thinking the smell isnt the problem as he's been waking every hour for atleast the last 6 months..... but i mite try the dream feed like you suggust and see if that has any effect on his sleeping

I went and saw my nephew's bub today. Such a precious little man, soooo tiny but so perfect. He is still doing well, but it's still one day at a time. It will be a long road. Bub's born that early usually don't get to go home until around their due dates. I knew he was going to be tiny but I was not prepared for how small he actually is. I got to be there when he had his first bit of colostrum - 1/2 a ml!!! I was really happy to see that, go the mamma's milk!!! :clap::dance::D

OLIVER IS CRAWLING!!! And he is loving it! Not me though - time to babyproof the house! First thing he went for was the DVD's! He is saying dad-dad constantly, to everyone! Oh and he has started crawling at the exact same time that Lexxen did.

Hi ladies

I had the fright of my life today and am dreading a next time, I was cooking tea and ethan was in his bouncy thing watching (wont let him crawl around the kitchen while im cooking) and he got restless so i let him out and popped him in the lounge room, its open plan so i could see him, but i turned my back for 10 secs and he was gone!! Found him in the study trying to get out the cat flap, sigh of relief and then back in the bouncy thing, finished cooking and popped him in the lounge so i could go to the toilet before serving dinner, i put him back in his bouncy thingd gave him his dummy, got the plates and heard a funny sound turned around and he was CHOKING....my poor little man was gasping for breath so i pulled him out and layed him on my forearm and started patting him on the back and it wouldn't work, i was terrified, i ended up pulling it out with my fingers as i couldnt get it out by patting (it was firm too) and around his mouth was going blue:cry: and it was a piece of plastic wrapper off the top of the raffertys baby food, and there was blood on it so its either cut/scratched him or i did it with ny finger nail when i got it out. Honestly its the most terrifying thing and i panicked and started crying because he couldnt breathe and i didnt think i was going to get it out, but omg i felt like such a bad mum:( I have no idea where he got it from either. He has been a bit grizzly since so i think he may have a bit of a tender throat. Im just so glad i have done my SFA course and rembered what to do even though i did panic.

Raels- Glad that you got too see your nephew and he is doing okay. Yay too oliver for crawling, and at the same time as lexxen too! Ethan is saying dad all the time to, im dad and the cats are dad also lol.

Sarah- Hi and welcome to you and bayleigh! My Ethan was born the day after bayleigh! I have been having some sleep issues too but were getting there with a new routine. Hope the dream feed works for you, i dream feed ethan before i go to bed at night and it seems to help him sleep that bit longer, good for me too if i have gone to sleep a few hours after ethan as i get to sleep a bit too.

Bec- What a fantastic sleep! Welldone Xavier:clap: Ethan has been getting a bit constipated on and off too so on the days like that i give him a bit of extra fruit too. I have to tell you that you are doing a wonderful job with juggling work and everything else, it must be tough, iam struggling with getting a good sleep routine and i dont work!! Welldone:)

Mel- How great that DH was home with you charlize and jack for easter, im glad you all had a lovely time.

AMM- How is lucas going now? Did you end up going for your walk and swim? It sounded like a nice idea.

Well im off i have to go check ethan, he has been asleep for 30mins but im a bit paranoid atm! Then i have to go look for some dvd's that the CHN lent me to do with sleep school awhile ago as i have ethans 8 month check up on wednesday and better return them:redface: Cant wait to see how much my bubba weighs though! Hi girls! I have had a very quick look through the other posts, but will have to sit down tonight and catch up properly. Lots to do after our weekend away - washing, unpacking, cleaning! Grrr! Weekend was great - awesome to catch up with my sisters. Tom was very well behaved although he suffered a bit of seperation anxiety. Not from me - from my sisters. Every time they left the room, he would cry and reach out for them and would only eat if he was sitting near them. Made me feel a bit useless as a Mummy! They loved it of course because they don't get to see him much. It helped his crawling as well because he just dragged himself around the house behind them where ever they went! Tom has a new best friend as well - my sister's boyfriend (hopefully soon to be her DF - i gave him the talk over the weekend. I need a wedding!). He is black and Tom is just fascinated by him. He has always loved him but over the weekend he just sat on his knee and kept stroking his face - it was like he has suddenly realised he has a different skin colour. It was very cute. Tom ended up with only one easter egg - my sister brought him one of my favourites so i could eat it - and also ended up with lots of new clothes. One of my sisters brought him this absolutely gorgeous wollen jumper from David Jones - it was so expensive. I could of killed her. For the amount she paid, she could of brought him heaps of stuff and he will grow out of it fairly quickly (once he grows into it. It is a one). She doesn't care, she said it is her duty to spoil him!

Our sleeping is a little crazy at the moment - trying to gradually adjust it for daylight savings so things are abit all over the place. Lots of trouble with drinking. At the moment I am lucky if he drinks any more than 30mls at a time - so lucky to get about 120ml down his throat. I have been doing a dream feed and generally can get him to drink about 180ml then. Sounds like a few other bubs are doing the same thing.

I thought I might come on and attempt personals while Avaleigh is asleep and my nephew is watching cartoons. I've just finished a mocha coffee and feeling a little sick. I got a espresso machine a few weeks ago and its the best!!

Em - thats great that you had a good time with your sisters. I love having my sister back in Perth and she is only around the corner too so we are spending heaps of time together.

Jessika - Oh what a fright that would have been!! So lucky that you managed to get it out. They are soo quick now that they are crawling hey!! I tend to leave Avaleigh alone for a few seconds but I dont think I will any more!! I am trying so very hard to not leave anything on the floor or any where that she can reach it. I am kinda lucky as she is not really keen on swallowing big things.

Raels - that is GREAT that your nephew is doing well. I am sure he will be fine, technology and the knowledge of doctors out there these days is great. How tiny was the little man?? You just forget so easily how small babies are when they are first born. I was checking out some of Avaleigh's first photos and was amazed how small she was. And YAY for Oliver crawling! They are so pleased with themselves when they can do it huh?

Rebecca - YAY for the big sleep! I really would like Jason to help settle Avaleigh but whenever I get him to do it, he only does it for a few mins and then lets Avaleigh do whatever she wants!! I think she knows that sleep/settling is my job and she will only do it for me. Dad is there for play time only!! Bit annoying, but I guess if you spend all day with them, they may get a bit like that...

Sarah - welcome!! LOL at Bayleigh on top of the coffee table!!! Avaleigh is trying to climb up on the dining room chairs but hasnt figured it out yet. I hope she doesnt!!

Well we had a pretty good easter. We had lunch at my sisters on easter sunday and I brough pavlova and crayfish. I had to do the pavlova twice cause the first one didnt work out!! So now I have 12 egg yolks in the fridge and dont know what to do with them!! I didnt get much chocolate, thank goodness!! Yesterdays family outting was really good. I enjoyed myself a lot and so did Avaleigh.

I;m getting Avaleigh Baptised in a few weeks time. Better get my butt in to gear and find the things I need...

I've been thinking today that we need to go on a family holiday. I may talk to Jason tonight about it. Great Barrier Reef would be cool!! I am off to find prices now...
