Sarah - that's great that your DD's new meds seem to be working. And how cute is Bayleigh, telling you to ssshhh. He's such a little character. How was the show??
Mel - OMG at that woman just driving off, that's unbelievable. I hope that Karma gets her, especially if the police can't find her. And woo hoo for Jack sleeping in a big bed. How did the Hen's night go?
Well, Day 2 at day care is over with. It was awful when I dropped him off, cos he knew that I was going to leave him, so just started clinging & crying. Which of course set me off. I know that it will get easier, and that he's only upset for a little while, but it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do & I hate leaving him, I just miss him heaps. Otherwise, all is quite boring & normal for us. I can't believe it's nearly the end of October though, time to start organising Christmas stuff, scary.

Good Morning ladies :)
I did a huge post lastnight and just as i clicked submit my internet had a hissy fit and i lost it all!! So frustrating especially as i dont seem to be posting much lately. Ah well.
Jan- Hugs to you for being so strong, it must be so hard not wanting to leave your little man and having him get upset. I still have not been away from ethan for more than a couple of hours and i think i would be a blubbering mess if i was! I keep thinking about being away from him when bub is born and i get teary.
Sarah- Glad to hear chloe's medication seems to be working for her, it must make you all feel better, especially chloe. Bayleigh sounds just like ethan, he tells me to shhh too! I was watching tv the other day and it was all quiet and i cracked up laughing at something and ethan said Shhh! It only made me laugh more
Mel- Huge hugs for you hun, what a terrible and frightening thing to happen. I agree with jan re the karma. Have you heard anything from the police? Glad your knee is feeling better though, how was it after your gym session? How proud you must be of jack, clever little munchkin. Is he still sleeping ok in his bed?
Nicky- How are you feeling hun? Hope the m/s goes away for you soon. I had it all the way through with ethan but it has gone away this time. Fingers crossed it does for you too. How are you enjoying married life? Im looking at putting ethan into a big boy bed at christmas too. I might wait a couple of weeks longer though for all to settle after bubs arriving.
Em- Your gift list for tom sounds like ours! We were only getting him a few things as we got him heaps for his birthday and so did everyone else so we were overloaded big time, but it looks as though christmas may be the same! I can sooo sympathise with you on the plastic balls, we got ethan 200 of them for his birthday, they do sit in a pop up tent type thing but between ethan and my cats they go everywhere!! We have picked out bubs name, it was one of our picks when we were deciding for ethan but ethans middle name didnt go with it so we decided we would use it for our next boy with dh's middle name. I haven't told yet as it is the same name as a little man from this baby buddies group :D
Well just quickly as my tummy is rumbling and im ready for breakfast. We are all good. Though ethan has decided to launch his fantastic sleep routine right out the window  He is also being really fussy with his food. A bit frustrating as im tired already add to that the 3 - 5 times a night wake ups and well im pretty zombie like!! I really hoping he is sleeping through before bubs is born. Day light savings starts here in 8 days so i have decided to perservere with the no routine thing till then, then try and get him into a newish routine then. I have an ultrasound tomorrow, yay, so i will pop up a pic and a belly shot on ethans site tomorrow night, for any one who is interested.
Okay I may BBL ladies hope you all have a nice day :)

Hi ladies
I hope you are all sleeping peacefully right now, Unlike me its midnight and ethan has only been in bed for half an hour!! He hasn't been grumpy or anything just not interested in going to bed
My ultrasound went really well. My placenta is now completely clear of the cervix so no c-sect here, now just have to wait till he is ready to make an appearance! He has/is growing well and a beautiful strong h/b :D Im a very happy mummy. Sadly though i didnt get any pics from the u/s as i didnt realise i had to ask and when she said all done and gave me a towel she said "when your done you can leave", i asked her if she had any pics for me and she said "no, unless they are requested we dont do it", meanwhile im still laying on the bed, shirt up and gel on belly so i asked if she could do one and she said "no" and left the room!! She didnt even have any one else waiting! Very annoyed about that.
Mel- I will pop up a belly pic tomorrow and i will put the 22wk scans up too. How are you all going?
Sarah- Bayleigh sounds like such a little character. How exciting re the rihanna concert i would love to go! Hope you have a great time.
Its real stormy here, the thunder is sooo loud and its pouring with rain but its so hot and muggy! my legs and ankles are so puffy and fluidy from the heat. Any way i should go, im off for a quick shower and bed before the sun comes up :) luckily i had a sleep with ethan today! Bye all :)
-
Hey everyone~
Thought I would pop on to show myself and say that we are still alive!! We're doing ok, I am managing to survive and not a lot of sleep. Avaleigh is just running a muck on everyone! She is rearranging furniture, pulling everything out of everywhere, climbing on everything! But she is good :) Just starting crying alot when I leave her and go to work, hopefully thats something she will get over soon. I hate leaving her so upset. She will be going in to daycare soon (going to look at a centre) cause her nanna doesnt want to look after her anymore.
Anyway, better go. Dont have much time to read over post so I hope everyone is well!
-
Morning Ladies :)
Ah the joys of pregnancy! I woke up an hour and a half ago with a cramp in my hips and haven't been able to get back to sleep!
Veronica, Its great to hear from you. Avaleigh sounds just like ethan! He pulls things out everywhere and tries to rearrange the place too  Hopefully avaleigh wont stay upset to long and will be okay starting daycare. Are you still working the 2 jobs?
Still haven't put any pics up mel! I definately will today :D
Im getting very excited, my sister left qld at 3am friday morning to drive here! They will be arriving roughly sometime sunday afternoon, cant wait. They have also decided to stay here till christmas which is great but they will probably leave boxing day if not before as they have a memorial ceremony thing to go to on the 28th of dec. So unless bub comes late she should be here when he is born  she will be ecstatic about that as she left for qld 3-4 wks before ethan was born and was very upset.
Anyway im going to go have a nice shower before ethan wakes up will pop back later.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
-
just a wquick one i had to cum in and share
BAYLEIGH has just cut his 5th TOOTH FINALLY
Ok im off now hope you all have a wonderful weekend
Sarah
-
Yey for Bayleigh!! I bet they pop all over the joint now. Not long now until that concert is it Sarah? Or have I missed it already. I'm going to try and get tickets to the pink concert tomorrow, fingers crossed I can get some, I love her.
Jess, still waiting...... lol. I don't know why you can't find time to do it, lol. Just remember to take it easy hun. Hope the cramps have eased. How are the contractions as well? Hopefully no more bleeding. I still haven't heard what the coppas have done about that girl. To cut a long story short, the incident has only now just been reported onto the system (going to make a complaint about the officer for doing squat). So will see what happens.
Jan, hope childcare is less heartbreaking this week. He will get used to it before you know it. Jack used to cry all the time when I left him at the creache (sp?) while I go to the gym, but after about 5 times he loved it. Now I have trouble making him leave ;) The hens night was great. Very unusual, but my cousin is a little on the different. We were going to have female strippers instead of male, yes, like I said she is strange. But didn't have enough money, so they bought a her girl on girl porn instead. Oh and yes she is marrying a bloke. Strange, very very strange.
V, have been checking out your pics on facebook, love the budgy smugglers, that's a classic shot!! Your looking great as well hun. How is the night shift going? I hope your not over doing it.
Oh I just noticed my new avator, how cool. Thought I'd update it, as we seem to have moved past the baby era. We have now taken down the cot and passed it onto a friend. Was a little sad, but excited about the next stage in being a mummy. Jack is well, he is so smart. He can make all the animal noises on cue, he can do the cow, horse, sheep, rooster, pig (it's so cute), frog, cat, dog and also swiper the fox off dora the explorer, it so cute, he says ohhh mannn!! His ankles are still playing up although we think it might be more from fear now than injury. Will give them another few weeks before getting the tests down. Will see what happens.
We are also thinking about putting Jack in a Maxi Rider like Charlizes. We are going to drive to sydney again for christmas so might wait after that, so he can be a little more reclined for the overnight sleep.
DH is off playing poker tonight, so I just put the kids down and thought about a wine, but dismissed that idea for a bourbon, ummmmm bourbon. I just had one of those afternoons. First it was the toilet rolls in the loo, then DD peeing on her highchair, then on the toilet floor. Then them both into the baby powder. Arhhhh, just thinking about it makes me want to have another.
Anyway, I must be off.
Hope all you quiet mummies are well.
Take care.
-
Sarah - yay for Bayleigh cutting another tooth. Did it give him much trouble, or did it just sneak up on you? Any signs of any more coming? Haven't got any ideas about presents for your Dad & S/Mum,but putting in some money for a nice hotel room sounds like a good idea.
Jess - how miserable of the woman who did your U/S not to give you a picture. She must be a bit of a moron, cos what Mum wouldn't be wanting a picture. But I'm very glad to hear that it's all going well. I guess your sister will have arrived by now, it's lovely that she's staying for so long.
V - good luck finding a child care place for Avaleigh.
Mel - how's the knee going?
Has anyone seen the new Quit smoking add, with the little kid on his own in a train station or something. I know it's an ad, but it just breaks my heart for the poor little boy, don't know how they got him to react like he does, but he's surely too little to know how to "act" that upset.
Well, I'm procrastinating. I was planning to log on & do some work tonight, but I just can't be bothered. The work stuff is going well, and Liam seems to be settling into day care reasonably well. Today he refused to eat the sultanas & bananas that they offered at morning tea, so he's behaving normally as he doesn't eat these things for me either. Which is a pain, cos how convenient are bananas & sultanas as snack foods.
oh, and it's a bit TMI, but it's been weighing on my mind, but finally, finally AF has returned. So cutting out the night feeds has worked as I hoped, probably helped by me going back to work & having some days where there's been no afternoon milk snacks. Although he's made up for it on the non work days, cheeky monkey.
And , another woo hoo, we've taught him new tricks - he can show us his head, eyes, ears, tongue (a particular favourite ), his belly (although this is sometimes confused with his doodle, something we haven't taught him, he just finds it all by himself  ), and his toes. So now I'm on the hunt for a new set of tricks :)
So that's it for us really, hi to all the lurkers, come back and tell us how you are!
-
Boys Jan, they are all the same. Whenever Jack's little mate in coverless he is holding it..... Boys.....
My knee is much better, only hurts now when I squat. So I have finally been able to do some exercise on it agian, yey!!
Great news on AF, does that mean you are going to try again soon? Sorry if you have already said so, my memory is shot lately.
-
Mel - that was a bit of a snap post. We bought a maxi rider AHR for DF's car, so that he can do the day care drop off/pick up as well as me, and I have to say I love it. I was initially not wanting to spend quite so much money, but given that it goes up to 26kgs, it should get plenty of use. And if all goes to plan (well, my plan anyway, DF doesn't quite realise this yet), we'll be needing 2 car seats by the end of next year. The hens day entertainment sounds, well, interesting. And how cute are all Jack's sounds - we still only hear "oof oof" and "ssss". no cows, no ducks, no pigs, no cats etc.
-
Yeah the Maxi Rider is great hey. My girl loves the arms rests, lol. We bought her's just before Jack moved out of the capsule. So she was in it from about 14-15 months, and loved it. But we did used mum's baby car seat for our trip to sydney last year and not sure to do the same again this year. Her head always seems to tilt forward during a deep sleep, it's o.k. for a short trip but don't think it would be good for her for a long trip. Not sure what to do.....
-
HI girls,
SOrry haven't been in much.... feeling horrible. M/s worse than with Lachie ( if that's possible).
Not alot going on. Lachie's been running around ike a mad man, and he likes to babble conversations with you. He's got 4 molars now and his eye teeth aren't far off. so I think 12-14 teeth all up? I'm not quite sure as Iam not putting my fingers in his mouth. haha.
How's everyone going with Christmas? Lachie is well and truly sorted, but I haven't even started with anyone else. I don't know when we will get that done, I just don't want to go shopping on my own at the moment.
Anyway, just thought I'd pop in quickly.... Hope everyone's doing well.
xxoo

Mel- No not long at all now till the concert only 5 sleeps and counting LOL Im so excited... Tho i watched Chris brown on OZ idol last ngiht and he wasnt that good but it may have been their mic setup well im hoping it was anyway lol but wayyyyyyy excited.. Im about to get online and see if i can get myself some P!NK tickets...... Doubly excited bout that..... I love her she is awesome.. :)
How did you go with tickets????? Very clever of jack making his animal sounds. How was your Bourbon last night?
Jan- Only problems we had with bayleigh was he was wakign extra early and then just sooking coz he was soooooo darn tired and rosie red cheeks oh and putting EVERYTHING in his mouth... No signs or anymore Unfort so it will prob be another 3 months before he gets another one :( I hope they all come soon..... Good to hear ethan is sort of seattling at day care, I think sometimes they put on an act when we are there but as soon as you walk out that door they are fine. How cute at his new tricks you have tought him....We are trying to teach bayleigh his eyes ears mouth Etc he has his tongue and mouth down pat and some times he eyes.. He seems to listen to chloe more then he listens to us but...
V- Glad to see your still around. Like mel i have been looking at your pics on facebook Avaleigh is just gorgoues in those pics at the beach... LOL at the budgie smuglers .. Hope your not tiring yourself out with Work and Gym......
Bayleigh plays with his Doodle ALL the time as soon as he sits on his potty before his bath he will sit there and pull it stretch it yank it and the more you tell him not to do it the more he does it so we try to ingore him but DP Cant stand there and watch him do it with out saying something to him LOL
Jess- How rude of the chick who did your Ultrasound.... I agree with jan wat mummy wouldnt want a pic of the bubba... How exciting about you sisiter staying for soooo long and even more exciting that she will be there when this bubba is born...
Well im off to see if i can get meself some pink tickets YAY
Have a brillient day girls and toddlers

grrrr men! :wall:. This is a little petty maybe, or maybe not. Called DF at 4 to say I'm leaving work, and thought we'd agreed that he would call me when he was in his car on his way to pick up Liam, otherwise I would continue on to do the collect. Instead he calls at about 4.50, to say he's definitely leaving at 5, so will pick him up. I agree thinking that it's pretty much of a muchness timewise if he's definitely leaving at 5, so I come straight home. Get home, only to get another call from DF to say he hasn't left yet, but he will be leaving shortly. WHich is extra time for Liam in day care, and less time for me with Liam. I know, petty, and only a matter of 1/2 an hour, but DF seems to be making such a big deal about getting to pick him up, when I think that the rule should be whoever can get there the earliest.
At least I've been able to get L's dinner ready for him in peace, so that's one good thing.
Sorry for the whinge.
-
...crickets chirping....
Hope everyone's ok and it's just that we all have a case of the 'can't be bothereds' right now. I thought I might get off my butt and try to get started.
Jan, I have to agree with you on the picking up thing. Is it all working better for you all now? Are you enjoying being a little bit free now and then? Sometimes I think about it, but as we will be trying for No. 2 in the next few months, it wouldn't be worth getting work now.
Nicky, you are doing well to have a least one person sorted for Christmas already! I am planning a get-everything-in-one-go day when Dan gets back so that I don't have to drag Autie around. She is pretty good in the stroller but I understand her frustration after a while - it must get a bit boring and uncomfortable just sitting for ages, especiallyif you include the car trip. Sorry to hear you have bad MS - hope it goes away soon - go the crystallized ginger!
Mel, sounds like you have a good little talker there! We don't have many words still, and the ones we have are not always clear - mummy usually has to translate, even for dad! LOL She did do her first 'hello' this morning to Dan on the phone which was super cute and made him feel special, so that was nice. I can't imagine Autie in a big bed yet - how is Jack going?
I've upped our weekly outing routine recently to keep up with Autie's growing need for stimulation of the 'anything but more mummy' kind. LOL We've added a playgroup, music group and toddler sports hour to swimming so now we have something on at least four mornings a week. We're down to one sleep almost permanently which makes things easier to organise too.
We have our new colorbond fence ordered and when it's up, we'll have twice the yard space as the current fence is not on the boundary for some reason. Can't wait to rip up the bindy covered lawn and lay a nice new one for autie to play on, put in a sandpit, cubby house etc. We have a vegie garden started already and she loves getting into the dirt and helping to water and pull weeds. Also, she like to stand there and point a stick at the plants and tell them off - strange but amusing. Wish I knew what she was saying...
I'd better go get myself organised I guess. Hi to all and hope everyone feels like having a chat a bit more soon.
-
Sacha I can just imagine Autie, telling the plants off, very cute.
Jack is doing well in his bed. He looks so cute.
Well got some interesting news yesterday, we are off to japan next monday. DH is going for 6 weeks, us just maybe 1-2. Not the best set up for kids there. Will be in a small hotel room with 2 double beds. And it's in the middle of winter, so I'll have to get the kids some good jackets, beanie and mittins. So will be busy over the next week getting everything organised.
But hopefully will be able to chat once we are over there.
Take care all
-
Wow Mel, what an opportunity! It's been my experience that Japanese just love kids so I think yours will get lots of attention. I imagine it will be tricky here and there but I'm sure you'll have an awesome time overall. I'm jealous!
-
Sacha - wow for all Autie's activities, you are such a good mum. I manage music sessions once a week, and still go to Mother's group every fortnight, but you are seriously organised! And her gardening sounds really cute - Liam's gardening consists of throwing the tanbark mulch around onto the paths, not the garden bed.
Mel - as my nephew would say, "wow cool" for the trip to Japan. I guess it's a fair bit or organising work for you to get things ready so quickly, but still a great experience. And nice to be away with your DH for at least part of the time that he's over there.
Nicky - I'm stalking your ticker to watch it click over to the magical 12 weeks!
Liam's got a new trick - we sing "row row row your boat etc, etc.. if you hear a crocodile don't forget to scream" - and on the weekend, he copied the "screaming". Now we just have to say crocodile & he goes "aaaarrrgh". I love having a trained monkey kid, so much fun inventing things for him to do. Poor little munch has been a bit crook with a temperature for the last 24 hours, I've been dosing him with Nurofen & Panadol, and hoping that it will be a better night tonight. And that's about as exciting as it gets around here.
-
Hi there!
Jan - yay on the trained monkey kids! Lachie will run around saying 'tickle tickle' when he wants to be tickled.... he's a cracker. We sing a few songs as well and he's starting to try and mimic the sounds and actions. My child is also a bit of a monkey as he climbs to the very top of the couch and tries to jump off! I am now the gatekeeper and trying not to lethim near the couch, but then the coffee table becomes his target.
Mel - Wow Japan! How fantastic! I hope you have an unreal time!
Sacha - I still have so much more shopping to do! I think hubby and I are going to head into town one weekend, sans toddler and get as much done as possible. And sooner rather than later, because I can't imagine doing it if my belly gets much bigger.
All's going well. m/s will leave for a couple of days and then hit me like a truck. Hubby took Lachie to work with him today (Hubby works with his dad and his mum has today off so she can look after him), so that I could have a bit of a sleep in as I am not sleeping well. But other than that, I am feeling really good. Haven't had any more scares, and I look as pregnant as I possibly could for approx 12 weeks. The belly was huge with Lachie, I don't know how I will go this time, because it's at least 8 weeks ahead size wise. It will be interesting when I'm 30 weeks preggers and I have to run around after the little man...
Hope you are all well! Give all those little cuties a huge hug for me!
xxoo
-
LOL at your monkey Jan! We do the row your boat thing too, but Autie prefers to watch us do the screaming. She does copy a lot of the Hi-5 moves she sees - there's a cute one with hands over your heart and another of a stamping dinosaur. Have you seen the Upsy Daisy dance from In the Night Garden? She does that one too if you sing the song. All very funny. Autie is a bit under the weather too, with a runny nose and slight temp. I'm just hearing her cough a bit now so fingers crossed it hasn't gone to her chest. Is Liam feeling better?
Nicky, I have a climber too now  Coffee table, chairs, bedside tables, the back of the couch - you name it, she climbs it. And she KNOWS she's not allowed to as well. I get this very cheeky 'well here I am and what are you going to do about it?' look. Grrrrr... How nice that you got a little rest time, sound like you're going to need it a lot in the coming months if you are already big...there's not two in there is there?
Has anybody seen gumboots in really small sizes? Like 3 or 4? Can't find any anywhere and I really want some for Autie to tour the yard in. I got her some of those ultra ugly shockers but they gave her a huge blister.
That's all from me for now
-
WOW its been ages since i have posted! I do follow all of your antics all of the time but have been really busy! I have been working the last couple of weeks, just doing the VCE Year 12 exam supervision.....extremely boring but good money for nothing! Lucas has been very accommodating given he's seems to be looked after by someone different everyday!! I am suprised he has been so good! Hmmm what else.....his favourite word at the moment is "peas" the corn gets called "peas" too! He even picks up one in each hand and says "two peas!" very cute. Still living with the parents which has been pretty handy overy the past few weeks...especially Friday night when i crashed Daniels work car into a light pole at a shopping centre!! Never been so embarrassed and have no idea how i did it! Just looked like a blonde bimbo in a ute that has no idea how to drive! I think i had a brain freeze or something! Well just thought I'd pop in but now i have to wake Lucas up before i go to the next exam....dont you hate that!!
Hope you are all great...Mel have fun in Japan...that's ace!!
-
Hi Sacha...Lucas has little gumboots from Target, i think they are size 4! They are very cute and are sort of cut off at the ankle so not as long as normal gumboots! He wears them all the time and even says "boots!"
-
Hello hello hello! It's Em by the way - I changed my user name - got bored and feeling negelcted in the cricket season! I have been doing some lurking, and have been too lazy to post . We have also had some overseas family join Facebook and they feel it is neccessary to send long boring emails almost everyday, so by the time I catch up with that, computer time is over. It is also impossible to post with Tom around - the mouse is a 'car', the keyboard is to be hit as hard as possible and press as many button as once.
Hello Megan! How cute is Lucas with his 'two peas' - I am just as impressed that he will pick up peas because I am the mother of a fussy baby who will only eat vegies if they are mashed. I am over stressing about it though, as long as he is eating them I guess. Was the car accident bad? Was Daniel angry?
Hello Sacha! I think i have seen little gumboots in Target too. I got Tom some of those croc/shocker things too - I hate them especially when you see grown men wearing fluro green ones - and he also got a blister. We are kind of in between shoe sizes at the moment - I have lots of 5's ready to go, I just need his feet to grow some more! I love Autie's little dancing stories, and she will be loving all her activities. I would love to do a music session for Tom as he loves music.
Hello Mel! I can't believe you are going to Japan. They will love your gorgeous little blonde kiddies! It will probably be full-on but an amazing experience.
Hello Nicky! Mrs Nicky ;). I have to start by saying your wedding shots on Facebook are GORGEOUS! I love your dress. You looked beautiful. Poor you having ms. I had it soooo bad and I think it is the main reason why I cannot even think about getting pregnant again any time soon. It must be super hard with Lach as well. Good on Mr Nicky for giving you some rest today. Very good idea about the chrissy shopping - going baby free. I have done most of Tom's and haven't even considered anyone else yet.
Hello Jan! Hope your poor little sick boy is ok. Is it quite possibly from starting daycare? I have heard that they catch every thing going around for a little while, but then have great immune system after that! How is he enjoying daycare? And you - work? I had to shake my head and agree with your 'grrr men' rant the other day - it sounds exactly like something my DH would do. At least you could get tea done in peace without Liam hanging off your leg - or is it only Tom that does that??
Hello Sarah - hope you had an awesome time at Chris Brown/Rhianna concert. I am jealous. I will have to have a look at your pics on fb.
Well........ trying to think of what we have been up to lately. It feels like the days are flying by at full speed. Tom has just gotten over being sick - he had ear infections in both ears, and a viral infection which meant he was covered in a rash. My heart nearly stopped when I saw the rash - thought the worst and took him straight to the doctors - luckily he seems to be on the mend and is getting back to his happy smiling self. He was so misrable.
He is becoming so independant now he is walking/running. Wants to do everything himself and walk everywhere but not hold my hand - I never thought I would say it but I think I might have to get him one of those harnesses - I only ever thought 'mean' mummies had them but it is seeming like a good idea now!
The pile of Christmas presents is growing - I will hate myself on xmas day when I have to find places for it all, although DH just made me a storage system for all of his toys which I am loving - Tom also hasn't realised that the toys are in them yet so we have had a toy-free few days and he has amused himself so well and read lots of books and done lots of drawing, which has been lovely. By the time he figures out where his toys are, they will be a bit of a novelty again for him hopefully!
All is well with me - still loving my day at work and have been doing a few extra day here and there, which is fun. My little sister (she hates me calling her little as she is 20) came to stay for a few days and it was lovely. It was also nice to have an extra pair of hands around too! Well that is enough of my rambling - hope everyone is well!
-
Cute name change Em. It's kind of fun to have a new 'identity". And I hear you on the harness - I NEVER thought I'd be a mum that would use one of them but I also have a kid who won't hold my hand & just wants to run as fast & as far as he can. Especially if the front gates are open.. beelines straight for the road, quick as a flash. Poor little Tom getting infections in both ears.
Nicky - that's so cute that Lachie asks to be tickled. And yeah, how's the climbing - on the weekend Liam discovered that he can climb up into his highchair if the tray isn't on it, he tries to climb onto his chest of drawers from his change table, has working out how to climb onto the back of the couch...and this is just in the last few days. And as soon as we get through the door of my neighbour's home he's straight up her stairs - quite exhausting.
Sacha - I've just started watching In the Night Garden with Liam - it's on at a good time for us as I'm often trying to calm him down a bit in preparation for his sleep, although we don't usually see much more than about 10 minutes - we have concentration issues. Very cute that Autie can do the dance. If you saw it this morning, they followed it up with a Bananas in Pyjamas rendition of Old McDonalds Farm which I thought was really fun - it got Liams attention too, he started doing his little circle dance & wiggling his hips, cracks me up watching him.
Megan - Lucas' words are very cute & very clever being able to say "two peas". I did some exam supervising many years ago - it's got to rate as one of the most tedious things I've ever done I reckon, so I think you earn every penny. Eek for the car accident though.
Well, I jinxed myself yesterday when I wrote about hoping for a good night, cos we had a shocker last night. I was up for a lot of it trying to get him to go back to sleep, he was just beside himself. Still getting high temps, and he had a bit of a vomit this evening, so it's just a bit of a watch & wait it out thing I think. Although my sister called to say that her little boy has chicken pox. We saw them on the weekend, but Liam's had his chicken pox vaccination, so I'm hoping that we're not heading down that path, although I guess it's just one of the things you cope with if it does happen.
Anyway, bedtime for me - hope everyone else is well.
-
Megan- Lucas sounds very cute, Well done to him on putting 2 words together Very clever... Oh no on the accident. Hope you are ok... Was there much damage done to the ute?
Sacha- Autie sounds very cute telling the plants off.. Target have Ankle gum boots like Megan said. You can get some really cute ones.. Gee i wish i was organised like you are with Auties Weekly activitys.. We only go to playgroup each wednesday i just cant find the time to do many other things. So well done to you... Altho we do go to friend places or have friends round who have children bayleighs age so atleast he gets to interact with other kids
Mel- How exciting about Japan.. My cousin has been living and working ver there for the last 5-6 years and he loves it, he loves the coulture. My brother lived and taught English over there for just over 2 years and hated coming back to Australia last Nov but hes now in Korea teaching English so hes happy... Hows all the organising going? Im sure you all will have soooo much fun..
Jan- LOL at the trained monkey but it does feel like that sometimes.. Teaching them new things each day... Liam sounds very cute screaming for the Croc.. Is he feeling better?
Nicky- Hope the MS calms down for you soon... How nice of DH to take Lachie to work for the day so you could rest, Thats sweet..
Em- RIHANNA & Chris Brown were Awesome,Not as good as P!NK performance wise but were still up there.. The pics arent the greatest but atleast i got some, I also have some Video footage on my Mobile so once i find the USB lead i will upload them to FB.. Hope Tom is better Poor thing having Ear infections, Chloe used to get them every 3-4 weeks from the time she got her first tooth till she had gromits put in at the age of 3.. Im like you with the pressie Our unfinished ensuite has become my hiding place for all the Presents. LOL Im gunna have to find another place soon coz there isnt much room left in the ensuite.. I cant help but grab the bargins i see in the clearence sections at Kmart and Target :) Its chloes birthday later this mon th we were only getting her one BUG present and 2-3 small pressies but i have GONE wayyyyy over that so i think i may have to talk to my mum and MIL and see if they want to give her some of the items i have brought LOL
I hear ya on the Independant thing too LOL Bayleigh is the same
Well us hmmmm well i went to see RIHANNA and Chris Brown in concert In Adelaide on Monday night and it was AWESOME :) We got to be within 5m of the stage so that was ace..
I had abit over 24 hours away from the kids which was nice for both me and Chris as he got to spend it with just him and the kids and i got time to myself. Everytime i got out of the car i opened the back door and then remembered i didnt have to get Bayleigh out of the car.. my BIL picked up on it when we went into the city to go shopping and i just laughed LOL
I have started looking around for a dress for me to wear to my dads wedding on new years eve but nto sure wat size to buy as i want to lose another 10kg by the wedding so im hoping i will be in a 14 by then but thinking i should maybe buy a 16 just incase... I have to look around for Dress shorts for Bayleigh and Ryan as they are the ring bearers and a dress for chloe but nothing to formal as its just a backyard wedding.. Decided on a present for them also i have spoken to My soon to be step sisters ad my bro and sis and we are all putting in money and going to pay for my dad n step mum's honeymoon to tassie all they will need to pay for is car hire/petrol and spendign money... but its going to be a surprise coz they will tell us off if they know we are doing it. and we are also going to get a family pic done of all us kids and get it framed and give that to them.. now we just have to orgainse the honeymoon LOL Bonus for us as we have asked Chris EX wife if we are able to have Ryan for a week so he can be involved i the family event and we got word from her sister that she is 80% sure she is going to allow ryan to come with us which will be amazing as we have never been allowed to take ryan on family hols before adn my havent meet him in the 3 years chris and i have been together so we are really hoping she will allow ryan to come with us to melb..
And another win for us we had the family report done reagrding ryan spending extra time with us Ex wife was refusing ryan to be able to spend extra tiem with us becoz she said he wasnt copig with the 36 hours a fortnight and wanted to decrease the hours not increase them but the family report says that Ryan NEEDS to spend more time with us so they have basically recommended the times we have been askign for for the last 3 years which is good, But she is saying no to most of it so it loloks like we will have to go back to court for the court to decide.. And we have been told that the court will go with the recommendations so fingers crossed.....
Well i have rambled on enough im sure you will be falling asleep by now if you have gotten this far...
Have a great day
Sarah

Hi all, its lurking Flossie here!!
Sorry I have been like Em (love the new name by the way) and been to busy to post and skim through a few of the last ones tonight.
Mel-I saw on your FB that you are off to Japan SO lucky!!! You will have to do lots of shopping :) How are your babies going?
Sarah - sounds like the concert was good. Are those 2 dating? I so hope for you guys that Ryan can go away with you, when do you find out?
Nicky - I hope the MS buggers off for you soon! I don't think I am frineds on FB with you, but I want to peek at your wedding photos!! I love wedding photos :)
Hi to everyone I have missed will try and keep up more often but I know I always say that!!
What is happenig with us? Still trying to sell the damn house SO over it!!
Olivia is doing well, she has been taking a few steps here and there - she knows she can do it but just won't - so cheeky!! She says so funny words like:
change
star
tar
cheers (then you have to cheers her)
Sasha (in laws dog)
wow
And a few others. She is doing well though, I think she could be getting a bit of a sniffle but hope its just teething. She is SO funny with food - its like a pig during the day and still fusses with dinner. I just wish she would eat vegies one by one, she loves carrot but just not greens unless I mix them in with things. The other day at Mum's group all the boys where throwing her sultanas on the floor laughing away, and there is my little piggy sitting quietly eating them all up :) Love it, she is adorable.
Question: Peanut butter - when? how much? etc - I have been meaning to give to Olivia but just don't know too much on giving it to her!!
Hope everyone is well.
Flos xx

Just a quick one for Lis re: peanut butter. When I gave it to Autie, it was just a bit on toast and she didn't even swallow I don't think before she reacted. There are two theories for when to give it - some say to wait until 2 or even 3, but the allergy specialist told me studies seem to be showing holding off on exposing them may actually make it worse. :dunno: I just know I'm glad I gave it to her here it at home and was ready to watch for problems rather than waiting until she was given it by someone else without my knowledge. HTH :D
-
Thanks Sarah! I think I will give it to her one morning next week when we aren't going anywhere. I spoke to a friend last night and she said to put a bit on her lip first, then the next day put some on her tounge. Apparently they should have a reaction by the 2nd try? Is Autie still illergic to nuts? Do you think that is why she broke out straight away? Its all so hard ;)
Thanks again, I will let you know how I go!
-
Lis, if you are really cautious, you could do a skin test on her inner elbow first, then the lip, then the tongue. If she breaks out in any type of rash at any stage, I would go to the GP and get a referral to a specialist for a proper test before trying her on any more. It's not likely Autie will ever outgrow her allergy as it is a severe one. About 20% of those with milder reactions may outgrow it. Good luck, hope you have no problems!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick one from me, sorry I won't be able to do personals, but I'm just about to pack the computer up, and finish packing.
We are off tomorrow morning, 7am sharp. Will be away for 11 days, but might be able to pop on the net while I'm over there, not sure yet.
Really looking forward to the trip, I think the kids will love the plane trip, the best part is that DH work has bought us Business Class tickets on JAL, woo hoo, can't wait to experience that, then we have to catch the bullet train, to Nagoya, and I know the kids will love that, I told Jack that we might be riding on Thomas, and his eyes beamed and he starting clapping saying Thomas, Thomas yey yey, so so cute.
Anyway I must be off. Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts about the trip, I was a little worried at first taking the kids away but I'm now very very excited, thanks to all yoru positive remarks, thank you.
Take care all
Mel.

Hi Lis - Olivia has so many cute words - "cheers" is particularly cute. How did you go with the peanut butter? I haven't given it to Liam yet cos I hate the stuff & DF doesn't eat it, so we don't ever have any in the house.
Mel - you probably won't see this, but hope the flight & the holiday go really well. Woo hoo for business class, that will make it easier for you on the plane. Plus the wine's better :)
Em - I read in another thread that you love 10 Little fingers by Mem Fox..I love it too, it's one of the most gorgeous stories I've seen for a while. I'm also liking the new book by the authors of The Gruffalo - the Snail & the Whale I think it's called, and it seems like a rather sweet tale. And also a new one by the authors of Rumble in the Jungle - can't remember the title, but it's about farm animals, and I love the rhymes in it, and the humour. Guess who's buying books for Christmas :)
Sarah - good luck with getting permission to have DSS come on holidays with you. He's lucky to have a stepmum that cares as much as you do, it will stand him in good stead , especially as his mum sounds like a piece of work.
Well, we have no idea what's going on with Liam. We've had a couple of nights of better sleep, but then this afternoon he's come up with a rash all over his tummy & back. Not bad, and it's not bothering him, but still, it's there. I guess we'll see what it looks like tomorrow. Oh, and he's obsessed with putting his finger up his nose - what's that about!!!
Hope everyone else's weekend was good.
-
Jan - I think that book is called ****adoodle do! Farmyard Hullaballo! by Anderea Giles (?). If its that one, I love it too. I love all of his stuff ever since I brought "There's a house inside my mummy" for my niece when my sister was pg with my nephew. Such a good book. I am slightly obsessed with the Leslie Patricelli books at the moment. I am trying to get one called 'No No Yes Yes' which is perfect for Tom at the moment , and there is also two called 'Blankie' (he is obsessed with his) and I think the other is called "Yummu Yucky" - about eating, which is also perfect! You would of loved the dinner i went to the other night - it was the Penguin Roadshow, a dinner at which Penguin books showed us all their new releases for christmas. I was in heaven!
How is Liam's rash today? Just thought I might mention that Tom came down in a rash on his legs, arms and torso and it actually turned out to be a viral infection. We had to take him to dr and they put him on antibiotics. He came down with a very high temp very quickly, and was just really unwell. Apparently it is going around. It was at the same time as his ear infections so it was just generally a yucky time! Hope he is ok and it is just a heat rash or something!
-
Em - you are such a tease, now you've given me more books to look out for. Thank goodness I'm earning some money these days. Farmyard hullabaloo sounds right, it's definitely the same author, I've loved everything of his that I've seen.
I think that Liam's rash was probably viral too - we had a few days last week of pretty high temps & general unhappiness, and now we have greenish boogers (sorrry, TMI). It's one of those things though, where aside from the temp, hard to pinpoint exactly whats wrong, and antibiotics won't work on a virus unless there's an underlying infection. If his nose is still gross tomorrow I'm going to take him to the drs to get checked out, as much to put DF at ease, cos he's a worry wart. The bad thing is that he's decided that medicine is poison - even Nurofen, which previously he's been quite fond of. Now he refuses to open his mouth, and if I do manage to get some it, he just spits it out. I'm hoping this is a blip, otherwise he's going to have a hard time with future teething if he won't take medicine.
-
Hi all,
Still haven't done PB - I keep putting it off!! But going to do it tomorrow morning and then Mum's group girls will be here so they can help look out for 'sign's if any as they have al given PB to their kids.
Sarah - do you mean the inner elbow meaning on the fold bit? I am so dense lately :)
Jan - Livvie has been putting her fingers up her nose for ages :) Not an awful lot, but once she remembers the hole is there I can't get her to stop for awhile LOL its funny!! I hope Liam's rash has gone and he is feeling better. Its hot in Melb at the mo so maybe its heat as well? Olivia gets a little heat bubbles over her tum when its hot.
Em - How did you get to go to the penguin preview??? I LOVE books, am addicted to buying them for Olivia and I am hitting the shops soon so guess where I am going!! Olivia loves the THAT'S NOT MY...range, have you soon them? She has That's not my Santa, kitten, mermaid, princess and something else..she loves them.
Olivia is taken a few more steps for longer distances but still prefers to crawl. I am trying to walk with her with only 1 hand as much as poss as I think then she will eventually let go of it.
Did you all wait 6 weeks after they started walking to get shoes? We are going to Syd on Boxing Day and I HOPE she is walking by then but want her to be in shoes!!!
Must run, think she is up....and I am ready to shop!!!
xxxx
-
Hey Lis - I think we waited 6 weeks. Liam took his first steps on the 8th September, and we bought proper shoes for him the week he started day care, so the first day he wore them for any length of time was the 17th October - so off the top of my head that's around 6 weeks. I don't put them on him unless he's off to care, or if we're going to the park & he'll be running around on tanbark, so he still spends lots of time in bare feet. I'm a believer in getting the best shoes you can afford for them, and getting them fitted properly, given how soft the bones in their feet are at this age.
-
Hi everyone. It's nice to see some more chatting going on! Though I know I can't talk, I didn't contribute for a while there either:redface:
Lis, the inside as in, the opposite side of your funny bone. But any sensitive skin area would do. As for shoes, I don't remember that I waited at all really. I just got some because I wanted to take Autie to the park. It's easier for them to get the hang of walking in shoes if they have very soft, flexible soles though.
Hi Megan, sounds like you are keeping yourself very busy. How great that Lucas is happy to go to anyone - must be very handy. I had a sleep today while Dan had Autie and she couldn't even last an hour without trying to find me  When he finally opened the bedroom door for her, she came running in with this excited panting sound and climbed up to lie on my tummy. Bit cute. LOL at your blonde ute moment. I've had a couple of those myself lately.
Thanks for the gumboot info everyone. Unfortunately, the ones at Target are all too big.:wall:
Em, I know what you mean about the independence with walking issue. Autie has started having little hissy fits if she's in the stroller too long and desperately wants to get out and run. Today we took her to A-Mart (do you have those?) just so she could run around the big, carpeted aisles without too much intervention. LOL We went to Seaworld too and we were like 'oh look, see the polar bear swimming and playing with his toy?!' and she's all 'yeah, whatever, just let me down to climb those stairs already'.
I'm soooo jealous of your job perks. I dream of a house big enough to have a library with a ladder and big comfy chairs around a fireplace...mmm, ladder... Like your new name BTW. I want to change mine too, but more for hiding purposes. How do you do it?
Jan, how is Liam doing? How strange that he won't take medicine anymore. Maybe his illness is giving it a different taste. Hope he's all healthy and happy soon.
Sarah, sounds like you had a great time at the concert. Good on you for getting out and about! Gosh, I can't remember the last concert I went to, but it was probably Bon Jovi so that says a lot about my age I guess! Good luck with your visitation issues, what a nightmare.
Ok, so I had this really dopey moment which could have been bad but ended up being quite funny. I put Autie in her carseat and then put her shoes on. My brain (being what it is since becoming pregnant) decided that I'd done my job with her in the seat and I jumped in and started backing out the driveway when I hear a soft thud and a whinge and she's on the floor because I didn't actually belt her in!:doh: So I reached back and I'm saying 'ok, it's ok. Just stay down there and I'll come and fix you up. Stupid mummy' And she ignored me and climbed up onto the seat beside her carseat and sat herself down looking at me with this ****ed off look like 'mum, that was really annoying' and stayed there until I could park and get back to her! LOL I can laugh now, but I was so mortified at the time. Imagine if I'd actually been driving on a busy street when it happened! So that's my entry for the Dopey Mum of the Year award.
So, should I have another baby do you think? LOL
Gotta go, didn't realise the time. Enjoy Wednesday!
-
OK just popped on for a quick read...Sacha are you pregnant? Have i missed something...confused!!! How could i miss that?!
-
Megan - I read Sacha's post in the same way.. Have we both missed something or it is our hair clolour??
Lis - I work in a bookshop so got to go to the preview thru that. And I loved it! I also love the That's not my... range. Tom is absolutely obsessed with Puppy at the moment. Good luck with trying PB - I tried Tom on it not long after reading Sacha's post on Autumn having a reaction. I was so scared but he just turned his nose up and wouldn't eat it .
Jan - hope Liam is ok. Tom was exactly the same when he was sick - getting anything into him was a nightmare. It was understandable because at the time he was on antibiotics for his ears, Nurofen for his rash and also having eye drops because he picked up conjunctivitis. Everytime we went near him, he would run away incase we had medicine.
Sacha - how gorgeous is your new ticker pic?? Autie's hair is amazing - most likely a pain in the butt to brush - but gorgeous!! To change your user-name, go into user profile (on the left hand side under BB symbol) and scroll down the list on the left - request name change is near the end of the list. I had a little giggle over the seat story - must of been mortiying at the time - but I love Autie's cross look. It is Tom's goal in life to be able to undo his car seat. He just sits there and tries and tries to do it - god help me the day he works it out :o.
