Thanks Em, for the info and the compliment. Her hair is actually quite fine so it's not so hard to brush, but hard to keep neat. Not sure where she got the curls, or the eyes for tht matter...must've been that afternoon with the milkman...:shhh:

Sacha- Autie is gorgeous! You cracked me up with the milkman comment! Thanks i needed a laugh. The milkman must be popular lol ethan has lovely blue eye's and mine are hazel and Dh's are brown?? :lol: Oh dear re the car seat mishap! I had a dopey moment too, ethan was riding his lion thingie and he fell backwards and i quickly reached down to grab him and instead of grabbing his top i grabbed his hair :o i felt sooo bad but i managed to save him from smashing his head on the floor and he didnt cry just sort of grunted at me.
Lis- Ethan gets a heat bubble type rash all over his tummy too when its warm, the first few times it came up i freaked out. I cant remember what we did with shoes :redface: i cant remember anything lately! But im having alot of trouble with shoes as ethan has wide chunky feet so its hard to get him a pair, i have managed to get a pair of sneakers to fit in a size 5 and a pair of sandals in a size 6. His first pair was dunlop volleys but he has grown out of them now.
What size shoes are everyones bubba's in?
Jan- Hows Liam doing? Ethan is the same with medicine now, its difficult to get him to take anything since he was sick.
Mel- Wow hope you have a lovely time. Enjoy yourself hun you deserve it.
Well all is okay here, ethan still enjoying waking me up a few times a night. Getting very cheeky lately, when he is naughty he sits in his naughty corner, but lately he has taken to running away and when i put him back and tell him to sit he goes into hysterics laughing!! and its so hard not laugh at him. Also when i say ethan no, you will have to sit in the corner he points his finger at me and tells me "sit down" in a growly voice:D
Pregnancy is going okay but im at the 'So over it' stage :redface: im ready to have him now! I had contractions a week ago but nothing since and no show or anything. Blood pressure is up but managing it okay, and sugar in my urine again so watching the diet. No more bleeding so very happy about that. Only 5 wks and 6 days to go :clap:
Oops master ethan is calling must go. Will try to not go so long between posts, just been very busy getting organised. Bye for now.
Hey Jess, so glad to hear the pregnancy is stable at the moment, but I reckon you would be at the so over it stage chasing around after Ethan. Not long now though hunny, I can't wait to hear when it all starts happening again, will be like old times, he he he. I'm jealous, I know this must sound crazy but try to enjoy your last few weeks of just you and Ethan time. Take care hun xxx
Well everyone, we made it here after a very long 14 hours of travelling. It was such a long day for the kids, not looking forward to the trip back. But hoping the plane trip will be much easier on them second time around as it's a night flight, so I'm hoping (actually preying with all my might) that they will sleep most of the way.
It's not to cold here, which is good. Kids are having a great time, but not enjoying being so cramped up in a little hotel room, but we try to get out as much as possible. The Japanese really love them here. It's funny how much attension they get, I knew they would be popular but didn't realise to what extent. Everywhere we stop it takes us about 10 minutes to get moving again, as they all love to talk to them and take their pictures. We stopped in at a little 7-11 type of corner store today, and the girls went crazy over them, especially Jack as he plays up to them, giving them smiles and laughs. They adore him. I got it on Video so I'm sure he will like that once he is old enough to appreciate it.

I was just thinking about this today, and although im so happy to be having another little bundle of joy, i got a little teary thinking how there is not much time left as mummy and ethan, i was quite emotional today though so he got lots of extra cuddles and for once he really enjoyed it and cuddled back :D I will be sure to let you know as soon as its all happening, it really brings back the memories of all of us waiting to have our bubs last year!:

I hear you Jess, I know to some extent how you are feeling. I remember the last couple of days before Jack arrived, that it would no longer be just Charlize and I. Don't know if it was the hormones but I remember getting really upset sometimes. Or it could just be crazy old me. Anyway don't know if subconciously I knew I was about to go into labour but anyway the day before he was born, we had a girls day. We went for 2 big walks to the park, shared hot chips and ice cream. I will remember it until the day I die, and will tell her the story time and time again. It's a special memory. And you betta let us know when things start, lol. I still can't belive that time is nearly here. Has your DH been home much lately? Will he be able to take time off work when this bubba arrives?
Just sitting back here, while DH is at work, having a few drinks, after all I'm on holidays, he he he he. Just finished watching Zoolander, very funny. I love that movie, nearly woke the kids up a dozen times.
Poor Jack has caught my cold, again. I'm o.k, but I'm worried about him as I didn't bring him any dimetapp. And it's almost crazy to think I could try and get him something here. I went to a drug store yesterday to get myself some cold and flu tablets. Well after a game of sheraids (sp?) with me holding my throat, coughing, pretending to faint holding my head he handed me some pills, don't know what they are but they work, lol. Probably will get pulled up from customs on the way back for drug traces, lol.

Oh i think i might plan something special for me and ethan to do together soon. Its great you and charlize got to have that time. I know the time has just flown, this pregnancy seems a lot shorter than ethans. Dh is away at the moment, he will be home again next tuesday, When he is here though, he's not really here iykwim, unfortunately dh has been up to some not so good stuff lately, and its creating a bit of an issue, really bad timing i know. He will be taking time off work though, he will come home on the 9th of december, 2 weeks before edd and will more than likely be home for a few weeks after.
Hope your enjoying your drinks, please have one for me:D hope jack gets well quick and that you dont get picked up for drug traces lol!
Aw Mel - your post about you and Charlize brought tears to my eyes. How gorgeous is that! And I had a good giggle over your chemist story. God knows what you are taking! Hope little Jack is better and you are enjoying the holiday. Fingers crossed here for you for a lovely, quiet, sleepy trip home.
Jess - it will be lovely for you to have a special day with Ethan. That is one thing I always think about in regards to having another baby - is the me and Tom time. Although all our babies are super special in that they are the first so they have had over a year of just mummy & me time. The second will never have that. Maybe you should send your little one around to Mel's to have a chat with Jack about being the 2nd child :lol:.
Hope everything is ok with you & DH. We are always here if you need to talk (type!). Except for Mel - she will be in prison.. And Sacha - she is apparently too busy with the milkman producing gorgeous curly haired children!
Girls - I need some advice. How do you deal with tantrums? Tom has had them one after the other today. I know it is because we had a really big day yesterday, and he is tired, but I am at a bit of loss as what to do... I don't want to ignore him because I don't think he is old enough to understand why..
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going to have a bath, a glass of wine and read the magazine DH brought home for me tonight. (He called this afternoon to say hi and I must of sounded slightly stressed!). Then tomorrow morning I am working - so will spend all that time gift-wrapping books for all those good people out there who are getting in early with their christmas shopping!

Well, I am tired as anything, and still sick everyday, but starting to feel a bit more human. Not alot happening, fist antenatal appt next friday, and then just wait until the Morph scan.
Other than that, Lachie's same old. Being unbeleivably fussy with his food, barely eating fruit and vegies but full on into all dairy and breads. Very frustrating. I am having to hide vegies and fruit in slices, cakes, muffins and making vegie patties etc for dinner. I hope this is just a phase and he gets back to eating how he used to.
Anyway, I am in need of a rest. Have a great night all.

That sounds like one of those moments when you have to turn away so they don't see you laugh. Autie is in size 3. Of all her shoes, I think her volleys seem the most comfortable...but they get dirty so easily :doh: Gosh I can't believe how close you are to having another little bubba to hold! Time has really flown. And don't listen to Em, I can take time off from the milkman to listen anyday ;) Take care of you.
Mel, all that attention must be making you such a proud mum! Do they have any playcentre type places where you can take them to play with Japanese kids? That would be awesome. Em, when I think of maybe not having time to read Autie a bedtime story because No.2 needs a feed (or whatever), I really start wondering if I should have another - I get all blubbery and messy. I only hope she has matured enough to understand a little by the time it comes around (if ever) Re: tantrums, in the 'Science of Parenting' book it says basically there are two types - ones that you should respond to, and ones that you shouldn't. Mostly the 'shouldn't' ones are for older children who know better IYKWIM? I'm like you in that I think Autie is a bit too young to get a handle on things by herself - once she works herself up, I think she doesn't even know why she started in the first place. Anyway, the point of my rambling is, I don't give in to what she wanted but I do suggest a cuddle or another distraction to snap her out of it. Eg, 'yes I see you're angry but you still can't have it. How about a cuddle/story/bikkie instead'. It usually works. And we seem to be having fewer lately. HTH a bit and good luck.
Nicky, I'm doing the 'hide the vegies' trick too - it'd be so much easier if they'd just co-operate huh? Oh I feel for you being tired and sick and still running after a toddler! I really hope you feel better soon. Also, what is a morph scan? :redface: I am a bit ignorant as I didn't have any tests other than 'tell me what it is!'
Well, I actually left the house for 3 hours today without Autie - hooray! I got 99% of my christmas shopping done and Dan looked after her. She wouldn't sleep for him, and I got a HUGE cuddle when I got back, but he said she was happy and that's a relief for me. I told him now he will have to start having her more often so she will sleep for him and get a bit less dependent on me. I don't think he's too keen. He loves playing with her and is good with most things but after an hour or so, you can see him start itching to get outside and dig a hole or something LOL
I'm off to bed I guess. Sparkly Saturdays all round!
Em, OMG girl you crack me up.:rofl: But before I head off to prison my advice on trantrums is this. Distraction and persistance, it's works wonders. Try to distract Tom by saying something, 'did you see that funny looking bird', or 'that man had funny looking hair', or my kids fav. 'did you just blirt'. :rolleyes: But the important part, is to always be persistant with what made them chuck the trantrum in the first place. If mummy or daddy says I can't do or have something it's mean I can't, IYKWIM. I read Taming Toddlers by Dr Chis Green and it's great for these type of things. Hope your enjoying the wine and mags. Oh and how sweet does your DH sound, my would have just said, try going to work for 12 hours :doh: Well done on the xmas shopping, got to love a child free moment. Oh and my fav line is 'Hansel, he's so hot right now, Hansel'
Sacha, I wish I could find somewhere that the kids could be left to play with the locals.:pray: That would be great though. They do play with them though when we go to the park. It's very cute, they have no idea what each other is saying but seem to be able to work it out.

We went to the aquarium today. Sort of like Seaworld on the Goldy. The big killer whale just died, so we missed that. DH made a funny joke about them eating him, don't think they saw the funny side. Tomorrow we are off to the Zoo/amusement park. Not sure what that will be like, but I'm sure the kids will love it.

OLIVIA IS WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very excited, although she is not walking 100% as she can't stand up without pulling herself up from the chair but then she is off once she is standing :) Its SO cute to watch her.
Olivia grabbed a slice yesterday at a party and it had nuts on it and she was fine!!! (haven't done the PB yet) so that is one less stress.
I will be BLB, sorry about the selfish post I was just so happy that my little one is finally walking :)
Sorry but have to do work before Olivia's sleep is over :(

Yay Lis! Big claps to Olivia! She will be off before you know it - it is so handy when they start walking, you can do more fun stuff at the park etc!
Sacha - how are you feeling now? You poor thing - isn't it a horrible feeling. Well done on getting most of your shopping done. Dan sounds so much like Dale - he is very capable of looking after Tom and they have a great time together but always seems to find something that needs to be done.
Nicky - I am also the queen of hiding food too. Tom will not eat individual vegies - only if they are all mashed together. My favourite deceptive food at the moment is crumbed chicken breast - but when you dip the chicken into the egg, mix the egg with pureed vegetables and then coat it in the crumbs. Tom wolfed down breast with pureed cauliflower and broccoli the other night and had absolutely no idea. Even DH went to steal a bit of his plate and then realised there was a slight green tinge to the crumbs. He is a super fussy eater - obviously where T gets it from! Hope you are feeling ok.
Opps my little man is waking up - he has been down for 3 hours so thats ok. i really need to learn to post at the start of his sleeps! Thanks so much to all on the advice on tanties. Very helpful xx I worked out what the problem was - that molar has finally cut. I feel guilty because I didnt realise and hadnt been giving him panadol or anything. No wonder he was so misrable! Just wanted to add for all those that think DH is sweet for bringing home mags on Friday night - it is only because he was in trouble from the previous night! It was a suck-up job. Poor Tom has been so sooky (bloody tooth, I feel terrible!) and DH had been dropping all these not-so-subtle comments that I was turning him into a 'mummies boy' and a 'sook' so i went all :pms: on him and had a fit! I think I screamed at him that if he thought he could do a better job at looking after our son, he could quit his job and become a stay at home mum (I believe he technically would be a stay at home dad, but you don't think clearly when going psycho!). So the mag was a bit of a grovel. And I haven't seen him for 2 days because he has been playing cricket so i have had time to calm down now!
Congratulations Olivia! :clap: Like Em said, it is so convenient to have a walker - certainly saves some back aggravation that's for sure. And you can leave the stroller in the car sometimes which I find really handy too.
Em, I'm feeling still a little irritated but thankfully much better than the other night - go cranberry! How lovely that you get 3hr plus sleeps out of Tom - I'm jealous. The longest I get is 2hrs. Those erupting teeth are killers huh? I haven't had the dubious pleasure of a molar yet, Autie still only has 8 teeth and they're all at the front. Must be quite miserable for them. Sometimes I think it would be great if they were just born with the ability to point and say 'sore' or 'ouch' - how much easier would life be?

We had a BBQ today with Dan's side of the family, so three cousins between 5 and 9 plus a newborn. Autie was in her element - so many people to play with giving her loads of attention. We had a massive storm this afternoon and the yard flooded - guess who was the first one out stamping in the puddles while it still rained? LOL She has no fear which is maybe a little scary sometimes. At one point they were all playing inside then the older kids decided to go out and when Autie noticed they were gone she came to me with the saddest look on her face and hands up in an 'i don't know' gesture telling me the biggest babbling sob story. It was one of those sad but funny moments.
That's my story for today. Hope everyone is well and just lurking for a short time...

so much to read today, and I've got such sore eyes as I'm really tired. I went out to a concert last night with a girlfriend - my first "real" night out for, hmm, 16 months at least, and it felt awful leaving Liam before his bedtime feed, but only until I drove round the corner, then I was fine :). And he was too, mostly, although when I got home at about 11ish (I know, not that late, but a big effort for me), he had just woken up & was sooky, I was so flavour of the month. It's nice to be needed. And I deserted them today too for a couple of hours, although DF took him for a walk in the pram and he slept for most of it apparently, so a pretty cruisy afternoon for DF really.
Mel - sounds like you're having a great time in Japan with the kids. :ROFL: at your DH's whale comment.
Em - hope you got LOTS of magazines, sounds like a suck up job was well & truly deserved. Re the tantrums, I'm pretty much the same as the other girls - distraction & consistency with our house rules, so that even if he doesn't like them/abide by them just yet, at least they're not changing all the time, so eventually he'll get it.
Lis - yay for Olivia's walking, isn't it fantastically cute when they start. In a week or two you'll probably not be able to remember what it was like before she started, she'll be so busy getting herself everywhere! And as someone else said, it makes trips to the park so much more fun.
Sacha - woo hoo for the name change. I changed mine to get some anonymity back, which worked until I realised that one of the people I wanted to disappear from had linked up to me on here as a friend - so as soon as I changed my name she would have known. Doh. But then I got over it, cos I'm not about to stop my BB addiction. I hope things are clearing up for you - I've only had one UTI, but OMG, wouldn't wish it on anyone.

hehe I've had 3 scans, all around 8 weeks, and nope, only one bubba. I'm a chunky person to begin with, but this belly has completely swallowed my rolls!!! haha
We'll see in a few weeks if there is one hiding. I doubt it though.
Yeah I agree Nicky, your looking fantastic. I remember I got so much bigger early on with #2, I remember thinking if I continue on at this pace that I would explode. he he he. But I did slow down at the 30week mark. But remember thinking that I was as big with Charlize at full-term as I was with Jack at 30weeks, crazy. But you are definitely looking great. Glad to hear the MS has eased as well. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow.
Well this time tomorrow night, I'll be on a plane on my way home :( Going to miss DH so so so much. I know the kids are going to be shattered too. They haven't spent this much time with him before, and they are lapping it up. Oh well, at least this time we both have computers that have a web cam so they will be able to see him.

We went to court the other day about extra time with ryan... Had BIT of a WIN for him
We currently have him for only 23 nights a years but that all changed we now have him 68 nights a year and that is with out school Hols so that was a huge bonus... We had to pay $3000 for a barriester as she wouldnt agree to ANYTHING out side court anyway we got to court on wednesday and the STRUPID Biatch agreed to what the barriester put forward... Only if she had of agreed to it the day before we could have spent that $3000 on xmasbut thats just how she works.... But the main thing is RYAN gets to spend more time with us which is wat he wanted..
We had him last night for 2 hours as it was chloes birthday yesterday and we went out for tea and we said to ryan that next time he has a sleepover he gets to have 2 SLEEPOVERS and his face just lite up and he goes" but i want to have 4 sleepovers" LOL with a smirk on his face LOL it was very cute and we told him that with the school holidays he can have 4 sleepovers... so hes very happy.....
We didt get everything we asked more like mine, Bayleighs and chloe's Birthdays as the court dont except "extended Familys Birthdays" which is a bit wrong but hey wat can ya do..
Well must be off i have to go out to my mums today to help set up for my Baby brothers 21st birthday party tomorrow night...

Hello Everyone - remember me??!!
I think it has been a long time since I have been in here but I finally have some time to myself!! A lot has been happening with me lately but its all settled down. I quit my night job because I took on more hours becasue I felt I needed to to keep the family afloat but taking on the more hours meant I had little sleep and little patience with Avaleigh and in the end, I felt like Avaleigh was resenting (sp) me because I was never at home. So after a teary weekend and a bubba that only wanted her dad, I went in and told Coles I no longer want all the hours. I am glad that I did it cause I missed being at home with my family and I hated running from one job to another. So I am taking it easy at the moment cause I am exhuasted and have just gotten over gastro and then I am going to slowly work back in to my old routine of going to the gym and taking the dogs for a run in the mornings. I cant wait to start doing that again!!
Not much else is happening here.. Jason asked if I wanted anther baby yet and I said NO! haha isnt it meant to be the other way around that the female wants another baby not the male??!!! Jason says he doesnt want too big a gap between kids but I know that we wont be able to manage financially so we have got to wait a bit longer, maybe i'll think about it in may next year??
anyway, i hope everone is well, I am feeling tired so am going to have a nap while Avaleigh is sleeping.

PG GIRLS - how are you all feeling?? How is the MS? I hope it buggers off soon. I have lost track of where everyone is up to in the pgs?
Em & Nicky - I too have to hide vegies in Olivia's food but not she won't even eat mashed potato!!! Do you have any other good and easy suggestions?? I am going to try the crumb one though.

V - How are ya? I think you made the right decision. I hope everything works out well for you guys - not long till the new year, a new year a new start don't they say?
arrgghhhhh!!!! TANTRUMS!!!! I am not complaing Olivia is walking but wanting to walk ALL the time like at the shops is driving me mental!! She won't sit in her pram at all anymore as she wants to be out all the time, then she will only hold my hand sometimes then she just walks the wrong direction!! I try everything to stop her from cracking the ****s......what else can I do???? I can't feed her the whole trip as sometimes I am at the shops for hours :) She is so confident in walking though, really strong so that is good.
Do you guys think those little backpack with the harness' on them are cruel? My Mum thinks that it could just help her stay with me and not walk off??? I don't know, I am in 2 minds about it.
Thanks for all the congrats on Olivia walking too, its so fun to watch her and she loves it! Did you all wait a few weeks for shoes?? We are goign to the Wiggles concert on the 14th Dec and I really want her to have shoes as my friends said not to take the pram as its a pain. This shoe lady told me to wait 4 weeks and that will be the day of the concert!!
Lis - my understanding is that the recommendation for shoes is to wait 6-8 weeks after they start walking, but I would think that if you bought some for her to wear just for the concert you're not going to do any lasting damage. Re the harness thing - pre baby I never thought I'd be a harness type person, but now that I've got a runner, I can definitely see the point. I haven't gone there yet, cos he's still happy to be in the pram, but I think that even if he weren't happy in the pram I'd still have trouble with a harness cos he'd still object to the restriction. So fingers crossed he's happy to stay in the pram for a while yet.
Sarah - that is fantastic news about Ryan, I'm so happy to hear that the court saw some sense. And so cute him now negotiating for 4 days instead of 2 - how clever are they! Bit miserable about not agreeing to Bayleigh's birthday, surely a half brother is not that "extended"
Mel - hope you survived the trip home. How long till your DH gets back?

Well, not much news for us as usual. Liam enjoys day care so much that he has tantrums when he realises I'm there to take him home. And on Wednesday morning he clung to his Dad when he saw him in his work clothes, as if to say "dad, don't forget you have to take me to the fun place". So obviously settled in well, which is great.

Lis - I am doing OK.. just getting over a bout of gastro and havent eaten for a couple of days. The family had it a little too but not as bad as me! So far so good, food is sitting ok, but we will see what the afternoon brings. I hope I made the right decision on quitting the night job.. just got to re-adjust again but that shoiuldnt be hard. I am happy that I get to spend time with my family again.
So, what has been happening with everyone?? I think that there are WAY too many pages to read back on so hopefully everyone can just do a quick post and then I should be back on track and up to date!!
I've got my sisters wedding to go to tomorrow so trying to get my nails in to order and am going to the hair dressers in a few hours to pretty myself up. My nails are a disaster tho!! I can never wait long enough for them to dry before I do something else and then they all get stuffed up. I dont really like the colour tho so I think I will need to go out and buy something new.
Very quick post - just got home from work and thought i would have a quick catch up but I think Tom is starting to wake up.
Lis - I am also seriously considering a harness. Tom is a runner and doesn't like to hold hands. Never thought I would be a 'harness mum' but I think I will have to. Isn't it funny how you wait and wait for them to walk and when they do, you kind of wish they weren't :lol:. Hiding food.. have you seen the book "Deceptively Delicious"? Its all about hiding good stuff like vegies into yummy stuff like pancakes and things. I haven't brought it yet but seriously considering it. The crumbed chicken is a recipe out of it. My never fail item is soup made from every vegie imaginable, with some ham and stock in it. I made it up in big batches and freeze it - its fairly thick, and if we have a night where he isn't eating, I can defrost some and am happy to know he has atleast had some goodness. I also add it into his mashed potato sometimes if I can't be bothered doing up other vegies.
V - good on your for quitting your night job. I was getting worried that you were taking on too much. As for update - not much going on here. Have had no exciting posts - Tom is walking, talking, having tantrums and waking at 6.15am every morning (what is the deal with that :doh:). Besides that, I am still working one day a week and trying to get organised for christmas!

He is definiately awake... Sarah - fatastic news about Ryan. He will also realise when he is older how hard you and Chris fought for him and that is mum is unfortunately a biatch.

Hey everyone,
We made it home o.k. this morning around 9am. What a flight, I haven't had sleep for 39 hours. Kids slept pretty much the whole time, we had a whole row to ourselves, so kids layed down and I sat. In between the two on two chairs. Was better that way, to have sleeping babies and no sleep than, crying babies and no sleep. Just got Jack down now, he has cut 2 teeth today, so his bum is blistered from the yucky poos, and I'm now knackered.
I was kind of expecting to come home to a house under water or blown apart. Fortunately apart from a few broken branches and a few puddles, and under about a foot of leaves, our house stood it's ground. It's crazy to think that about 5K away was totally distroyed, $500,000,000 damage and counting. So so lucky.
We had a great time in Japan, missing Dh alreadly though. And he still have another 5 weeks to go :( , not going to fun. Oh well, boo hoo for me. The kids really miss him to, they keep running up to to computer and saying daddy, as they can see him on Skype, so they are happy when we call.
Must go back and read up the last couple of days.

Well, bit of a woo hoo for me today - I got a kiss!!! Liam is a determined no-kisser, but today we were all just sitting on the floor together having just daggy family moment, and I said to Liam "give mummy a kiss??", and he toddled over and gave me a kiss, albeit with an open mouth. so so cute. So that's probably about it for the next 6 months, but just one of those lovely moments iykwim. And we think he was copying us saying his name, cos when we said "Liam", he piped up with 'ii-aa". Which is hard to explain, kind of had to be there, but funny as.

V - I just looked at your sisters wedding pics on FB. She looked stunning! You, your sister and your mum look so much alike. And you looked gorgeous - especially for someone who has been so sick! I absolutely loved your sisters dress - was it a 'proper' wedding dress? It really suited the wedding that they had.

Well I have seen pictures of the storm coming in and there was some awesome shots of lightning and cloud formations and we dont get anything crazy like that over here!! haha I want to crazy storms, but none of the damage ;)
Jan - woohoo for the kiss! Avaleigh likes kissing. If she sees Jason and I kiss she wants to get in on it too haha its so cute. Sometimes it is quite difficult to get a kiss out of her but its so cute when we do.
Em - YES my sister did look stunning! haha *blush* I tried my hardest to look good too. Everyone was commenting on how good I look now since trimming down. And I was quite relieved that my health was nearly at 100% on sunday. Now I just got to find another excuse to wear the dress!! I dont go out much so I might need to wear it around the house haha :D
So whats happening?? Are all babies up and walking now?? Any talking?? At the moment Avaleigh is loving saying 'Uh Oh' its so cute and she uses it at the right times too - like when she drops her cup or food off the table at dinner!! I hear you on the tantrums!! Avaleigh likes to throw herself (gently, doesnt want to get hurt now!) on the floor and start crying. I just tend to ignore her.
I seem to be going through a little bit of a tough spot with her where she always wants her dad if we are together. It was getting really bad at one stage, it got to the point that she would cry whenever I tried to pick her up or play with her. It was really upsetting. I thought it was because I was working all the time and not spending any time with her. So that is the main reason I quit the night job. It is getting a bit better and things will be back to normal soon enough!! I am enjoying being back at home with the family and I love feeling human again and not needing to live on coffees to stay awake!! I've got a more important role at my day job too, which I am thrilled about. I really like working for my current company. Avaleigh is at daycare now and its a nightmare leaving her there as she screams and doesnt want to let go. I wonder how long its going to be before she starts settling down and going in happily??
Is anyone ready for christmas?? We arent!! Money is tight again, especially at christmas as Jason doesnt have any work for 3 weeks. I told him we need to start saving for next years christmas now so we arent in a position like this again!

Jan, isn't it lovely when you actually get a kiss when you ask? I used to get them all the time but now Autie thinks it's funny to turn away instead so they've been very rare lately and I really miss them - open mouth and all! Though she has become very fond of lying on my tummy for cuddles so that kind of fills the emotional void a little. Great news on Liam settling well at kindy - must take a load off your mind to know he is so happy there.
V, Avaleigh's 'uh oh's sound very cute. And it's nice that you can get back to spending more time with her - you must've really missed her while working so much. I am mostly ready for Christmas due to a day of lay-bying everyone's presents at once. Now I just have to pay them off... I think I'd still like to get Autie some doll's furniture as she really likes the ones at playgroup but, like you, we are watching the dollars at the moment.
Mel, glad to hear you got back safely. Hopefully the next 5 weeks will move fast for you - he will be back for Christmas right?
Lis, I say get the shoes! Those concerts can turn into a free for all and you definitely don't want her little toes getting a bashing. I think it's fine for short periods, like Jan said. You'll have so much fun choosing too...
Em, that soup recipe sounds good. I like making squishy stuff to add to mashed potato or couscous - so quick (especially when you're naughty and buy frozen mashed potato!) Do you whizz it up or just leave the vegies in chunks? Autie loves ham so I know she'd be into it. I am trying to buy her a nitrate-free version but at $28kg, she doesn't always get the good stuff.
Sarah, great news about Ryan. It's lovely that he is so welcome and wanted in your home. Must be a great boost to his self esteem.

I can't remember if anybody is using MCNs but I'm thinking about giving it a go so if you are, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and opinions on EVERYTHING! I really am clueless - so many brands and types...
Um, don't really have much to tell about us atm. Oh, except Autie is finally cutting molars - I think there's about 4 in various stages :doh: Bring on the Nurofen! LOL
Wahhhhh! I have a sick little boy again :(. Ear infection, viral infection and cutting molars. It's horrible. Took him to the doctor yesterday, and he barely spoke English. Do not want to sound racsist but surely there should be a rule against that. I have managed to get an app with our regular doctor today, thank goodness.
Sacha - I put the soup through the blender just for a quick whizz so that it is quite thick. Could probably get the same effect mashing it with the potato masher thingy. I am actually going to make a new batch today because it is all he has eaten lately, being sick. We have a farmers produce shed near here so I am going to go down when Tom wakes up and buy some lovely fresh vegies.
I use MCN - well a bit of both actually. Disposables for night and trips out and cloth at home. We are using Baby beehinds all in ones. I am pretty happy with them - there is a new version around i think but we brought up big when they were having a clearance sale of older stock. I find them good to use because you just throw them into the wash and don't need to worry about boosters etc. I am a bit lazy like that. Having said that - if I had my time over, I probably would of looked into it further because there is soooo many different brands. I was advised after I brought mine that the best thing to do is to buy one of a few different brands before you buy a lot. They are great for summer, dry really quickly and its a bit nicer if they can have a run around in a lovely coloured cloth nappy rather than a disposable.

I love them! I'm the same as Emma though, disp for outings and for night.
I use mainly itti bitti dlish... they are nice and trim and fit under clothes without making Lachie look like the next JLO from behind (LOL). I also use another brand, called Patootie Booties, who are made by a SAHM friend of mine. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! They are the best nappy I have come across so far! I love pocket nappies, or snap in AI2's.

As for how I'm travelling... Well but still very sick. Same as last pregnancy. I feel like I have more energy now though. Very happy to be in the second trimester.
I have my morph scan on December 30 and I can't wait!

How often do you generally have to change their nappies? Don't they get a little stained looking on the inside? I suppose that wouldn't really matter... Have you had any leaks (both kinds)? I like the idea of a more breathable covering during the summer months especially. I must admit, the AIOs sound more like my lazy style, but I guess there are advantages to the other kind? Why do you like the pocket ones Nicky? And what's the difference anyway? Is it just that you can separate the inside from the outside so they dry quicker? There is a demonstrator for BBH here on the Gold Coast who can come around and show me how they work but I don't want to get stuck on one brand if there is big differences between brands. :think::dunno:
Oh, and :comfort: for you and your poor little sick Tom, Em. He must be miserable (and you too I imagine) Hope he picks up really soon. :crossfingers: for an ok night tonight.
