Hi Belinda, Good to hear things are going so well. We are on day 3 of no daddy being home, and it's getting easier. Especially if I get sleep at night. I have posted in the august thread too, but I have been coming in here a lot too, as I would love to stay chatting to all these lovely ladies.

Flossie, glad to hear your mending well. Sorry the bf isn't going as you would have hoped. you never know Olivia may still decide she wants to give boobies a chance. Baby shoes are so cute, always good when someone else pays for them too.

Bridee, yay on your mums group. I hope you enjoy it.

Tracey, Xavier has a patch where he looks like he's peeling, tmi, but more beside the ball sack. is that similar to what happened to zyon, or did he have full on blisters. I've just been putting a little curash on so it doesn't get worse. Xavier doesn't seem worried by it though,
my how are you supposed to know what your doing is right? I think I'll ask the mchn on friday when we visit.

Its a freezing cold day on the gold coast (way too cold to take a baby out and about) so I am stuck in the house. The fridge is getting empty of yummy food so I hope the weather clears up soon.

I feel bad sending the kids to school in such freezing cold weather and I worry that they might get a nasty flu - its been such a cold winter this year. I hope that doesn't mean that summer will be extreme too.

Jordan has been pretty settled however the last few mornings he has woken up a bit earlier than what I would like.

Has everyones bleeding stopped. I still have quite a bit of spotting and it will be 3 weeks on Thursday. My afterbirth pains were not too bad after the birth of Jordan. Infact I think they were quite mild in comparision to the pain with baby number 4. I had regular doses of panadine though - so maybe that did the trick.

Jordan has had conjunctivitis the last few days so I am treating it with breastmilk.

My shoulders are feeling a bit tense and sore from holding Jordan alot on the weekend - I need a massage!

Tracey, Fran & Veronica - I hope your babies have a more settled day today ((( big hugs )).

I have been in my pj's pants all day today. I put on a tshirt with them but they were just so comfortable (and all the other comfortable elastic waist clothes were in the wash).

dee i'm 3 weeks friday. and I still have I'd call it a little more than spotting, but I was told it could go for up to 6 weeks, so I'm not worried. I normally have a 6-7 day period, that is really heavy at the start. i think if I compare a normal day to each of the 6 weeks, it's kind of similar if that makes any sense.

Hi everyone...I hope you are all doing well...I'm a bit exhausted for personals, but hope to return tomorrow with some more energy. Just wanted to update you on Alessia's progress. I attended a breastfeeding clinic today and we managed to get her feeding again...it feels different though, I know her attachment is not the same, but she was content enough to have 2 lots of 4 hour sleeps after the feeds. We'll see how we go tonight though.

Alessia has put on just over 200 grams since being discharged from hospital...so she's nearly back at her birth weight which is great. The midwife thought that she may be going through a growth spurt at the moment and my supply of milk may not be fast enough for her needs and that may be why she's fussing on the breast. Only time will tell.

Anyways...back to the old pump and grind *lol* Can't wait to burn this darn breast pump! Take care everyone!

Rebecca, it was a bit worse than peeling skin, as his poo was pretty much burning acid... But now he's getting more hindmilk it's changing & less acidic... But I got some cream from Dr which has cleared it up he's back in cloth & we are just using Bepanthen on it now!

As for bleeding mine stopped (with each birth) about 10 days after & I havent had anything since PHEW!

But my periods are usually 3-4 days max!?

Sorry I haven't been on. Still very busy with the house inspection etc. But good news we had our first offer today:dance: We are meeting with our agent tomorrow to discuss what we will do. So hopefully there will be no more need for open houses and inspections :pray:

Jack has had a rough couple of nights. I think he has just gone through another growth spurt. Will find out on friday when we are off to the docs for his 2 month needles. Can you believe it he will be 8 weeks old on Sunday, I can't get over how time seems to be flying bye. Kind of upsetting really, :cry: I don't want him to grow up so soon, Charlize as well. Before we know it they will be giving attitude, moving out, getting married, and OMG I will be a grand parent:redface: O.k. well I'm getting a little carried away here.:p

Flossie, I think you have done such a wonderful job to B/F as long as you have, and to make it to 3 months, you should be soooo proud of yourself. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to keep at it if I were in your shoes, well done.:clap: Glad to hear the tear is healing too, and I bet you your DH can't wait either.

Jem, OMG we are similar. I too jumped on the scales the other and was shocked to see how much I have to go. I guess it's not that much in the big picture, it is still scarey to see what I weigh. I have made some enquiries about joining a gym down nears mums place, so I could drop off the kids and retreat for an hour or so a few days a week. I think it will do me the world of good. Big yey on getting Charlottes pictures developed. I have a pile of Jack's to get into his album, might try that on Saturday morning if we don't have to have another open house.:rolleyes:

Regarding bleeding ladies, I drew the short straw with both babies. After Charlize I spotted until she was about 7 weeks old. And this time around I had a Marina (sp?) put in at 5&1/2 weeks when I was still spotting slightly and now after I had it inserted I'm back to a little heavier than spotting, and yes he will be 8 weeks on Sunday. So definately drew the short straw with this.

Fran, glad to hear your feeling more confident now with B/F hopefully Alessia will sleep like a champ tonight.

Dee, OMG how bizarre is this weather up here ATM. The wind is absolutely terrible, the rain in nice and much needed but we could do without the wind.

Rebecca & Bridee, Jack had a similar rash to what your discribing when he was a couple of weeks old. I went and sore a MCHN about it and she said to stop using wipes and use cotton balls in warm water with a touch of bicarb in it. I was a little hesitant at first but tried it as well as using Anolin cream and it worked wonders. Cleared it up within a couple of days. Then I went back to using J&J senstive wipes ans haven't had a problem since.

Anyway must be off, tomorrow is another busy one. Take care and until we speak again.

Fran, good job, on the feeding, I know everything is going to be falling into place. But don't burn that pump too soon, in a few months you might want it back so you can have just a little you time. But maybe not for a few months :lol:

Tracey, poor little zyon, it's bad enough when your as big as us and it gets acidy. I'm glad it's healing up though. I have to admit I didn't realise the whole foremilk and hindmilk stuff, you have made me a little more cautious at making sure xavier is sucking for long enough.

Mel thanks for the tip on the water and cotton balls, I might do that, maybe I'll get some of those 'swispers' sp when I do the shopping, they might be easier to manage than cotton balls 'cause they are flat.
Yay on having an offer for the house. I hope these are the new owners and they want to pay high above your asking price :lol: and there are no more open houses etc, etc,

To everyone else I hope your feeling well, and getting sleep. I don't want to speak too soon, but we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel here. Xavier seems to be getting better and better at sleeping at night.

Sorry i have not been around, but have just been so exhausted!! I hope your all going well and your bubba's are being good. Im too tired for personals atm, but hopefully things will settle soon and i will have more time here. I will try to remember a few things i just read lol!!

I had two 2nd degree tears and some grazes, and it has been 4 weeks and im still finding it uncomfortable to go to the loo, and sometimes a bit painful (depending on the amount of water i drink)

Fran im glad alessia has started taking the boob again. Ethan also refused the boob and i too was devastated, unfortunately we tried everything and he wont take it back, and he wont drink EBM either so he is now on formula, im still pretty upset about it as i really wanted to b/f or at least express for him:cry: Now im on a course of tablets to dry up and stop the milk, i will cry the day nothing comes out!!

On the nappy rash, tracey, ethan had a blistered but too, he also had what looked like a graze around the bottom that did end up bleeding, but healed nicely with amolin cream, it was from really acidy poo's.

Any one with an up all night, short sleeping, reflux, colicky bubs i can really sympathise lol Ethan was waking up every 1.5 to 2hrs for feeding up until sunday, when he wakes up he is awake for anywhere from 1 to 3hrs screaming from pain because he has reflux and just wont part with the wind, he really gulps down his bottles too so we are going to go and try to find a slow flow bottle, my breast milk flowed real fast too. The bottle ethan uses now is an anti colic, but doesn't seem to work to well. The longest ethan has slept for is 4 hrs but it was only once lol. He is going longer between feeds now, being on the bottle, but still doesn't sleep because of the wind!! By the time i manage to get his wind up and him settled and asleep, he only stays that way for 2hrs then gets hungry again!

Ethan had home visit from the CHN yesterday and i couldnt wait to get him weighed but he was asleep and we didnt want to wake him, so i will go see her in 2wks and we will do it again.

Does any one elses bubs scream blue murder at nappy change time?? As soon as i pop one button on ethans clothes he starts screaming and doesnt stop till his clothes are back on. He is great with his baths though..once he is in he stops crying, then crys when i take him out lol.

Also during the pushing stage of labour my coccyx (sp??) was broken, so im seeing the physio 3 days a week and having it ultrasounded, i sit on rolled up towels and use a heat pack at night in bed, but still have a fair bit of pain. Has this happened to any of you? and do you know of other ways that i could help relieve it?

Ok well i must go and prepare ethans bottle as he is stirring now, and then i have to go out to the chemist, its sooo cold today and i really would just like to keep ethan home, but it must be done.

Hopefully there wont be such a big time gap before im here again.

I have just read how everyone is going ans I am really feeling for you lovely ladies that are up with unsettled windy babies - hugs to you all.

Fran - I hope the improvement with the feeding contiues hun and you are doing a great job sticking it out.

Jessikah - youch at the broken Coccyx bone - you poor thing I don't have any other suggestions I am afraid.

Bec - Happy birthday for the other day, I am so sorry I missed posting on your actual birthday.

Mel - that is so exciting about a possible offer, it is such a relief when you finally don't have to keep the house spick and span for inspections - and yay on the idea of having some time out to go to the gym, that sounds like a great idea.

Trace - you poor thing with Zy being so unsettled with all of the wind pain. You are absolutely right though, I don't think it matters how many bubbas we have, they are all different and take their own figuring out iykwim.

ohh I have lost my train of thought, one child just got up, so had to take the opportunity to go and get the vacuuming done and now another is outside! lol No wonder I never get any longs posts done anymore!!! :cryinglaugh:

Angus is still a fantastic bub, does get quite unsettled through the day every second day or so, especially if he hasn't had good sleeps in his bed. But he is awesome over night, usually goes down about 10-10.30 and he wakes somewhere around 6am, this morning was 7am. The older boys are stillw aking through the night though, so we have sleep deprivation from a 3yo and a 1yo, just not the newborn!!! go figure.

He is going really well with the feeding as well, my only problem is that my milk comes soooo fast that he also can get quite windy and in pain, but I am trying to really make sure I burp him well and get most if it out.

With stitches, I didn't have any this time, but I did with the first 2, and especially after NO 1 which was also a forcep delivery, the stitches, bruising and swelling took a good 6-10 weeks to go down for me, the stitches still "caught" every so often for prob 6 weeks, but then I had alot of aching down there going on as well.

I also bleed for the full 6 weeks, with it only just going now, most of the time it is like day 2/3 of a period bleed.

I can't believe Jack is nearly 8 weeks, and that most are 4,5,6 weeks already - this is really flying for me!

4 and a half weeks till we move - wooohoooooooo

jesikah, you are doing a fantastic job with all you have been through. Sorry I'm no help on the Coccyx either. With the tear I found drinking more water, and going regularly helped. Sorry to hear about the bf not working out. your comment about the day nothing comes out brought a tear to my eye. I'm so much more emotional these days.
What sort of formula is he on, my 2 nieces both had to have special ones, one low lactose the other soy. that reduced their wind and screaming

Ethan isn't having a special formula, he is on S-26 Gold, Alpha Pro. I dont really think there's much else i can do about my coccyx, but was hoping,lol. I was told though that it is a slow process but eventually the pain will subside a bit, but will always be uncomfortable.

Jessikah - i hear you on the colicy and reflux bub!! Avaleigh is the same - doesnt want to part with her wind!! Its so hard but just got to keep reminding myself that it wont be like this for ever. What is a coccyx??? Doesnt sound very good!!

Fran - great to hear that Alessia is improving!

Relle - wow angus is a great sleeper!! Cant wait for Avaleigh to sleep like that. I have been getting sleep from 10pm to 4am but last like i only got til 2am. I think this is because Avaleigh fell asleep in her daddy's arms and the other nights she was screaming from 5pm to bath time at 8.30pm..

Mel - yay for the offer on your house!

We are giong to go and see Jason's sister's baby boy tonight. He was born Tuesday night I think! I dont even know his name - haha great aunty hey! Went out and bought him a little outfit and about 2 new outfits for Avaleigh!! LOL I just cant go past all the littke girlie clothes. They are soooooooooooo cute! I cant wait for the weather to warm up so I can put Avaleigh in her little outfits.

Evening everyone...I have some really encouraging news...Alessia has been exclusively breastfed for the last 24 hours...woohoo! Let's hope it continues. We had our MHCN appt today and everything looks good...she's an alert little thing and so placid...we just love her to bits!

Again, no time for personals, but just wanted to send out some big hugs to Jessikah *hugs* Hun, sounds like you're doing it tough but you are sounding really positive which is great. I hope your hubby is giving you lots of cuddles and treats for being such a great mummy.

Okies...dinner's ready and I seriously need to eat...even though I've got 10 kilos to lose now to get to pre-pregnancy weight, need to make sure I make some great booby milk!

Jessikah - SOunds like youa re doing a great job but its tough isnt it when you are not getting enough sleep. What you are going through sounds just like what we went through with DS2. But I can tell you it does eventually end and DS2 is now a great sleeper and eater.

V- I am the same about wanting the warmer weather to hurry up so I can put Charlotte in some of her cute clothes!!

Tracey - you poor thing with Zy being unsettled with his wind pain bt I am glad to hear things are settling down.

Flossie - good to hear from you. You are doing amazingly well with feeding Olivia. Good on you. I am glad you are healing - wont be long before you are back to normal. Take care of yourself. I had a look at the photos of Olivia - she is gorgeous.

Me - not much new to report. DH and Oliver went to the shack for a night so I was at home with Jesse and Charlotte on my own - so it was still busy but slightly less frantic than normal. Both Jesse and Charlotte slept really well so we are all feeling good at the moment.

Hi everyone

Oooh, I am so jealous of all you ladies whose babies sleep through the night. Diana generally goes to sleep around 10, wakes up for a feed around midnigh, then wakes for the next one at 3-4. I think she has slept through about 3 times... Otherwise she is still a great baby, although she has been throwing up a LOT the last week or two, i.e. pretty much after every feed and in between. I hope that she is still gaining weight. Last week she was almost 4.5kg, so I think that she is. :)

Rebecca - I have been using the Swisspers things for cleaning Diana when I change her. They work really well.

Jessikah - Ouch about the coccyx. I bruised mine one and it was agonising so I can't even imagine what it would be like to break it! :cry: Hugs. I don''t really have any advice for the pain. Have you been prescribed anything?
Diana used to scream blue murder every time I changed her nappy, but she seems to be calmer now. I find that if I drape a towel or a wrap over her tummy when I change her she is much happier, as apparently babies don't like to be fully naked.

Veronica - I hear you on the cute clothes. I too am waiting until it gets warmer so that Diana can show off her little outfits.

Tomorrow we are going to look at the proofs of the photos we got taken last week. I hope :pray: there are at least a few good ones.

Not much to wrte, Kaetlyn is unsettled tonight. just keeping ymself busy between trying to settle.

My 2nd degree tear was okay by 2 weeks. bleeding stopped about then as well.

Had a great night sleep last night - went to be at 8.30 fed at 1am then again at 7am then slept till next feed at 11am!!! bugger that tongiht will be a bad one thoguht!!!

Jessikah, I had a bt of trouble this time with #2's due to pushing hunched over a beanbag..
My saviour has been 2 Metamucil Fibrecaps (I cant take Metamucil powder I just gag) & Brekky Juice the extra Fibre 1, I now am going without trouble, but I know from pushing that I totally bruised my ... passage & it was VERY painful... If you arent already trying something like that I'd say give it a go...?
OUCH regarding your coccyx! I have no advice!

Zyon fed at 7:30pm, then I put him down & he woke at 10pm, so I fed him & rewrapped him, as he likes being really warm, then he woke at 1, but took forever to feed & settle & went back down at 3am & then woke at 5:30am, is fast asleep again now!

I cant believe he has gained over a kg from his birth weight in 4wks!!!

Gonna try to do some baking etc today... Gotta keep Indah entertained!

well yesterday xavier decided he was being to well behaved and decided sleeping was overrated, at least in his own bed, but in mums or dads arms was fine, or on the couch beside one of them was fine, and then later in bed with them, this was also fine!!
I'm a little weary now. But nathan was a blessing, when he took over at about 4.30 this morning, and I got to shut my eyes properly. Now he's gone to work.

Jesikah, with the formula, I asked about what sort, 'cause I know that when I was a bubs I developed an allergy to the cows milk based formula and ended up on soy, then my 2 nieces both ended up on special formulas, and in retrospect mum thinks this is why my sisters used to scream blue murder as she puts it when they were babies. Looks like we might have in inherited intolerance in our family

fran, yay on 24hrs, like Dee said, any good tips. I've been using all the tricks to wake him mid feed, and nothing. then as soon as we hit the bed, wham eyes wide open and lots of noise

Tracey I was over a bean bag and I don't think that buggered up my #2s. the drugs they shoved up my bum for pain relief after the stitches did though.
I was lucky hi fiber food and lots of water fixed me right up.

We are 3 weeks old today.
Xavier entered his first competition too, the sunrise fathers day one, :lol: surely a 3 weeks old can enter?? well mine did. There are some great prizes. laptop, lcd tv, camera, clothes, smelly stuff something else, can't remember what. you just enter on the website and say in 20 words or less why your dad is great.
Xaviers daddy is great 'cause even though he has to work he got up at 4.30 this morning so I could sleep, what an angel.

*** Just got back from our MCH appt. the little piggy is now 4.3kg's (born 3.6) and is 55cm (born 52cm) and only 3 weeks old. She thinks the poor little dear has a little thrush, not just nappy rash though. so now we are using an anti fungal cream.

Hi ladies...again just a quick one before my little miss wakes up for her dinner. I hope everyone's bubbas are being good to their mummas. Alessia has decided that she wanted to cluster feed today, so my nipples are red raw, but I'm trying to my best to push through the pain...I want her to stay on the breast!

We took Alessia for her first shopping expedition today...she slept beautifully all the time we were out. What a champ! :)

Well I'm a little sad to say this is my first post since Noah was born, but also excited to finally be on to catch up. I have been very busy with having Phils paretns over from NZ and his brother over from Afghanistan (he's in the army and serving over there at the moment.)

Well I will have to post my birth story soon but basically I had a pretty good birth for those of you ho knew everything that was happening prior to birth I managaed to avoid c-section....just! I had a vaginal wall tear but no perineal tear. Noah had to go to special care for a little while when he was 14hrs old but all was ok. I have to do my little brag now (i'm sure you ladies all like to do the same with your little miracles) Noah sleeps all through the night 7,8,9hrs everynight! I feel very very lucky he is an amazing baby I feel so blessed.

Anyway it's almost Noah's feed time so I'm going to go check birth stories and see how many of you have posted your stories

Rebecca – ooh , I hope that you win a prize for the Sunrise competition, that would be very cool. His weight gain is great, but not so good news about the thrush, I hope that it clears up quickly for you.

Fran – well done on getting through a full day of exclusive b/f. I don’t think that you can ever be prepared for how difficult (and painful) b/f can be until it happens to you, but well done for persisting. I keep hearing that it’s supposed to get easier once you get to 6 weeks, which for me seems to be the case – had some horrible times over the first 3 weeks in particular, but I’ve just persisted & it’s definitely getting easier for both of us.

Tracey – Zyon’s gained over a kilo? That’s fantastic. But poor little man with his sore bottom, I hope that the cream is working for him (think you mentioned Bepanthan – I’ve been using the sample tube from the bounty bag & am very impressed with the results)

Jessikah – you poor thing with a broken coccyx, it can be so painful.

Flossie – your determination to express for 3 months is really admirable, and big hugs to you, because I would be devastated if I had to give up b/f, so I feel really sad for you. And I agree – Olivia is just gorgeous.

Dee – I hear you on needing a massage – next to having someone cook dinner for me, this is on my list of things I’d really really like at the moment. Hope you haven’t been badly affected by all the rain that QLD is getting at the moment – it looks unbelievably awful up there at the moment.

Jas – you lucky, lucky thing getting such long overnight sleeps from Noah & good to have you back!


Well, that’s about all I can manage with personals at the moment – I started typing this post at around 3pm, and 2 feeds later, a trip to Safeway and a fairly long screaming session (Liam, not me, although I was tempted), I still haven’t finished. We’ve had a good week all things considered – Liam’s putting on weight steadily, he was 4.11kg at Tuesday’s weigh in, and we had our first Mother’s group session which went well. It was just so nice to be out of the house for a couple of hours & having other new mums to talk to was also really good. And I’ve managed to get out for a few walks this week, which is just great. We don’t go far, but it’s better than being stuck inside all the time, and slowly we’ll build up our staying power.

Anyway, that’s about it from me , I’m going to see if I can get a small bit of sleep before the next feed.

Yay fran you are doing a great job!! my sis gave me a tube of stuff she wsn't using anymore called marcalan, it's great on the nipples. it is kind of like lipgloss but with out all the flavors etc, but is safe for your nipples and for bubs. But if your worried about aleissia not liking the flavor you will be able to use it inbetween feeds, and maybe wash it off before she feeds, iykwim

Jas Welcome back. Firstly ouchie, but yay you didn't have the c-sect. Good to hear everything is going well, where do I get one of these 7 8 and 9 hour sleeping babies??

jan I hope we win too, don't think so though. lol for the time it took to post. I've gotten close to taking that lon once or twice myself.

Well it looks like the thrush has already started clearing up with the anti fungal cream. his little bum looks so much better already. We definetly have had to give the wipes a miss for a while. Ended up buying some homebrand make up removal cotton wipes, they are easier than cotton balls. and we are just using warm water. It's a bit of a bugger in the middle of the night though, but i don't want to make it worse.

Hope everyone is getting lots of rest over the weekend while partners and hubbies are around

hey everyone

hope all is well with everyone. excuse the typing - got avaleigh falling asleep in my arms. things for us are looking good. i went out and bought brauers colic releif and stomach calm on thursday night and we have improvement already. I am giving the colic releif to avaleigh after feeds and i instantly get burps out of her and i only give her the stomach calm when she has thrown back up her feed (still trying to work this one out). She had a really good sleep last night from 11pm to 4am. but after 4am she is a little unsettled because she cant bring up any burps cause she falls asleep straight away, but the colic relieef is getting them up for her. im still sleeping on the couch and avaleigh is in her bassinette, im only doing this because i am too stressed about her wakung jason up, he is working so hard these days that he needs his sleep.

well enough blab, just waiting for my mum to come and then we are going to go look at some center peices gfor my wedding. wedding oplans are going well with the help of my mum.

WOW! I haven't been able to get on for the last few days and look what happens! I can't possibly remember everything I have just read!

Does anyone else's bub get into what seems like a nice, predictable routine for 3 days or so and then change it on them?

Oh I am sooo happy with my little princess!! She has managed to fall asleep ALL BY HERSELF!! Thats a big step for us cause she only falls asleep in my arms and then wakes when she is in her bassinette. But she fed and I cuddled her for a little bit and gave her some of the stomach calm and then put her down cause I was hungry. I wanted to see what she would do so I left her and she grizzled a teeny tiny bit and now is asleep!! What an improvement :yay:

Yeah Veronica for Avaleigh falling alseep. It is such a momentous occasion!!! I remeber when KAetlyn started doing it as well.

We went to the Paediatrician yesterday for Kaetlyns 6 week checkup (at 5 weeks though). she is going really well. he was impressed with her strength and allertness. she is putting on good weight- which was my main concern. yesterday she was 4.56 which was exactly 1kg heavier than when she was born.

I asked him about feeding Kaetlyn throughout the night- as she seems to be sleeping all the way through and was having to wake her for feeds. If i over slept, she would go more than 5 hours without a feed.
He laughed at me, and said, 'you have a very good baby and are lucky that she does that, as that is what many parents aim for with their baby.
So the result is, let her sleep as long as she wants during the night, but during the day I will wake her for feeds, and still aim for 6 feeds in 24 hours, but I am not going to stress if I only get it 5 feeds- as she is doing really well, and I am sure se would let me know if she is still hungry!!

Also, for the bubbas with dry skin- he told me not to use Johnsons and Johnsons :( stuff (it smells so cute!!!). He wants me to use QV wash for her as it is soap free. He said if we combat her dry skin now, it might stop her getting excema later on.

Well thats enought from me tonight- might pop in later on, not doing much tonight.
Ohh and we are going to a friends bubbas first birthday tomorrow!!! shouod be fun!!

Hi everyone...I am officially a feeding machine! *lol* Alessia must be going through a growth spurt b/c she is feeding at least every 3 hours...a far cry from her 4 hourly feeds which stretched to 5 overnight. My boobies are sore, but coping somehow :)

I'll try and attempt some personals whilst my little one is having a nap :)

Veronica Oh yay for Avaleigh!!! That's great news that she was able to fall asleep by herself. If Alessia doesn't fall asleep on the boob, I have a mini-panic b/c I know it will take her longer to fall asleep by rocking/singing/patting her. She's fallen asleep by herself a couple of times, but she must have been really buggered. Well done also for getting the wedding organisation under way...you're a super mummy!

Sportychick Oh there's no such thing as routine in this house! *lol* I've been noting down when Alessia feeds to see if there's any pattern, and the pattern is 'there's no pattern' *lol*

Rebecca I've been using Lansinoh for my nipples after each feed and also expressing a little extra breast milk and rubbing that in too...hopefully I'll see some improvement soon! Yay for little Xavier's thrush clearing up!

Jan Well only 3 and half weeks to get to the magic 6 week mark for us!! Well done for Liam's weight gain too! The weather has been lovely lately...I was tempted to take Alessia out for a walk in the pram, but decided not to cos she was sounding a tad raspy and I didn't want to risk her getting a slight chill. I know what you mean about starting something and having to come back to it hours later too!

Jas Yay! Welcome back hon! Oh I am so jealous about the overnight sleeping *hehe* Well done Noah! It makes it so much easier to deal with the unsettled periods during the day if you have a little extra rest under your belt :)

Tracey Wow at Zyon's weight gains! You have extra strength boobie juice! *hehe* I hope you've been able to get some more rest today! *hugs*

Sara I think Alessia is the same as Kaetlyn...when she's had an awesome sleeping and feeding session, I know the next period will be the total opposite!

Dee The only tips I got from the breasfeeding clinic that I found personally helpful, were to make sure that Alessia was grabbing as much areola as possible when first attaching...I have massive basoombas and it's so hard to make sure she gets the right parts in! *lol* I also learnt another burping technique...by laying her on my lap and swaying my legs from side to side, whilst patting her back. I find that helpful when she doesn't want to sit up on my lap. Apart from that, not much else help...sorry! Hope you've been able to get some more rest!

Zofia I hope you're happy with the proofs of Diana! We're wanting to have some professional photos of Alessia done...just need to find a good photographer!

Jem Sounds like you've got a good little thing going with Charlotte there! I guess 3rd time around you're able to anticipate what's coming next! That's why I can't wait til with #2!

Relle What a champion sleeper you have on your hands! I had to chuckle a little when I read that Angus sleeps better than his older brothers! *lol*

Veronica. it sounds like you guys are getting somewhere, your perserverance has certainly been well rewarded.

Sportychick, Routine, whats that? Sometimes we have good days, and then bad days, but I don't think I would call it a routine.

Sara, we still haven't used any sort of soap or baby wash in the bath. We are just using water, and then I moisturise his feet with sorbalene. But then we've also had to ditch even the sensitive wipes for water and cotton. Your another person i'm jealous of. we seem to be averaging about 4 hours through the night, and the closer we get to morning the shorter the time gets.
We too are off to a first birthday party tomorrow, don't know how long we will be there though.

Fran, congrats, it's great to hear. you are soiunding like your self again, so you must be feeling less stressed as well. I know what you mean about when david goes back to work. But I survuved when nathan went back. The morning when he was leaving were a lilttle hard for me if i hadnt had any sleep, but I got through. You have been so strong already I know you will be fine.

Lach was 4 weeks yesterday!! woohoo! milestone one complete! I have been breastfeeding for that long with relatively no problems. Yay for me.

He has been settling really really well. I am only having to go in and check on him once or twice after I put him down. He is also only waking twice a night for feeds, which I can def handle! So its all going really well.
He's now 1kg over his brth weight. comming in at a whopping 11 lbs! hehe
He no longer fits in 000 bodysuits. they are too short for him. He just kicks open the popstuds.
He has also now outgrown the bassinette, so tonight, we give him his first night in the cot! I thought it would take a little longer for him to jump to the cot. Tonight will be interesting!!!

I breastfed for the first time in 'public' yesterday! well it was at a friends house, but there were lots of people there. Granted, I did go inside into a room on my own.... oh ok. So this I have not conquered yet.... I dont care who sees my boobies, I just worry about the backlash which is sad but thats reality:(

We are probably heading to Wagga next weekend! Lach's first big trip/holiday.
My sister has just started a new job at a new hospital, and she only saw Lach the day he was born. She is missing him terribly! Hopefully, we can con her into having some cousins for Lach!!!! he he doubt it, but shes rather clucky after all the pics we sent to her.
So its about 4-4.5 hours there from here... We should only need to make one stop for a feed and change on the way.
Thats the plan anyway... we'll see how well that goes.

anyway,best be off. plenty of housework to do. now that i have bragged about the little one, he has decided to make a mockery of me, this explains my sudden change in typing speeed. lol

Hi Ladies

Just popped in for a quick read before making a dash for the shower,lol my time is very limited today. Ethan had a bad night last night with his wind, i tried everything to get it up but he didnt want to part with it and since 4am he has been waking every half hour screaming, we managed a small burp just before he went to sleep again, but he is so tired he falls asleep within minutes of picking him up, then he wont burp!! I have a real bad tooth ache too so all i wanted to do was sleep lastnight....we ended up crying together, lol!!

Yesterday my mum came over and said that she would like to take ethan to her house for a few hours so that i could get some rest, boy it was a hard decision to make, but i got his nappy bag and bottles ready with a big lump in my throat and as soon as they left i cried my eyes out!! He was only gone 3 hrs but i missed him heaps. I should have used the time to have a sleep but there was so much house work that i wanted to do, and i did and feel heaps better for it. Dh flew back to work for a week 9 days after me and ethan came home from hospital then came home for 5 days now he has left again for two weeks, so im finding it really hard to get anything done, but ethan is slowly starting to settle a bit so it will all be ok soon enough. Mum said how about she has ethan for a few hours every saturday afternoon and i laughed and said its to hard to let ethan out of my sight right now, maybe once every two months!!!

Any way, sorry no personals again, hope you are all doing ok and enjoying your little bubba's. I'm off for a nice long shower...as long as ethan allows any way lol!! Btw, i have put some new pics on ethans site.

Hey everyone

Hope you are all well!!

I parted from Avaleigh for the first time today!! Jason and I went to see The Simpsons Movie at the Goldclass cinemas and mum had her for about 3 hours. It was good to get to the movies!! Jason asked if I was OK with leaving her and I said yes. hehe I didnt even think twice about it, does that make me a bad mum?

Has any one DTD since giving birth?? i decided I was ready and Jason and I had a go at it last night and HAHA I was not ready at all. It still hurt down there!! I didnt think that it would take this long to heal up properly, my tear is still not fully healed so maybe that is why it was sore??

Avaleigh has been real good. She is managing to sleep in her bassinette and that is a huge achievement for her and it means that I can get some me time now!

Well better go, my roast dinner is nearly ready.

I have worked out that if I can space Zyon's feeds out a bit longer than he tries to have booby (I demand feed, but he was feeding/snacking ever 2-3hours) that he will have a real long decent feed & sleep up to 5hrs which is LOOOOONg in this house with this bubba!

So last night we had dinner & I let him have a cry in the hammock whilst I shoveled my dinner in, then I talked & played with him abit til it had been 3.5 hours since last feed & then I fed him & he fed for ages with a really long hard suck & then he went to bed & woked at almost 1am.. so from 7pm, it's amazing how much fitter you feel when you get a long block of sleep!

Yay for a great feed and then sleep by Zyon. You are so right that it makes the biggest difference to how you feel the next day - I reckon not only physically but mentally you feel great!!

Beautiful weather here at the moment so I am going to go and eat my breakfast outside. Sorry for the lack of personals but my stomach is growling! BBL to say hi to everyone.

Hi everyone

We had a good weekend. Diana has been very good and seems to be settling better and not bringing up as much milk either, which is a relief. She is due to be weighed tomorrow, so I hope that she is still putting on weight and growing properly and that her week of almost constant vomiting hasn't afftected her badly.

I breastfed in front of FIL yesterday. I was more nervous about that than about doing it in a public place! Don't know why. It went okay though, so all good (although it is making me nervous of when I finally have to breastfeed in front of my own father).

Diana is also learning to self settle. The other day she was crying and neither Stan nor I could pick her up for a few minutes, so she just stopped by herself and was perfectly content until one of us could come and attend to her. What a good and clever girl she is.

I have put some new photos up on her website. We looked at the proofs of her professional photo shoot on Friday and she came out looking so cute! It's a pity that the printing of the photos is soo expensive as we were only able to choose a few to be printed. We recieve them in about 6 weeks time, so I will see if I can scan one or something to put on the website.

Veronica - re DTD - Diana is 10 weeks old tomorrow and I still don't feel ready!!

Tracey - congratulations on Zyon's long sleep. I am trying to do the same with Diana, re spacing her feeds out more so that she feeds properly and then sleeps longer. So far she doesn't sleep through the night yet, but her sleeps are getting a bit longer.

Nicki, what a healthy boy you must have!! I'm sure he will do fine on his trip to wagga. You never know he might make it all the way there without needing to stop. Especially if he likes the car. Xavier loves the car, so long as it's moving :lol:

Jessikah, you poor thing. I feel bad 'cause I go mental when I have to get up once during the night and Xavier won't go back to sleep as soon as his finished eating, and then your doing most of the hard work by yourself, and I have nathan home every night. But don't stress Ethan will be ok with your mum for a few hours every week. Sometimes I think it's good too 'cause she will get a better feel for his little signs and be more help to you iykwim. eg: my mum has picked up on xaviers favorite position to be held faster than my mil has.

Veronica, yay on an outing. we are hoping to do that soon. So much so Nathan decided he would get me a book of movie tickets for my birthday. (half for him to use of course). did you need to leave any milk with your mum. Xavier has this terrible habit of thinking every time he wakes up it's dinner time. He would scream my mums house down if we didn't leave any milk and he woke up.
ON DTD, not going there for a while here, however someone told me (might have been live chat) that it can sometimes be like losing your virginity again, the first time after a bubs.

Tracey, yay on longer sleep. it sounds like things are getting better everyday for you. I have been trying to stretch Xaviers feeds out for a similar reason, and because sometimes I think he just thinks he's hungry and he's not really. But sometimes he is just in-consolable and I fold.

Jemima, I agree you do feel heaps better, even just getting a full 5 hours in a row. we got a sunday treat this week, and Xavier slept from 10pm-4am, fed and just fell right back to sleep at about 5.30am until get this 8.30am!! That was like a sleep in for us

Zofia, great to hear things are slowly progressing for you. It gives me renewed hope to see the 'future' if you will, and the fact your still going. Kinda makes me feel like I will survive. Lol on the feeding in front of your fil and your dad. I was a bit er um hm at first, but went aw screw it. I just wish my little man would give me a little more modesty. Just like a boy to leave my nipples hanging out for the world to see!! :lol:

I havent posted for a day or two, cause I have been feeling pretty bad. Kaetlyn has been so good, she is slepping right through the night now, and everyone is having trouble with that.
Aaron went back to work yesterday :cry: I took Kaetlyn to her first birthday party, and she was awake the whole time. Aaron came and visited at the party for a little while. Lol the first thing he did when he got there was come and see Kaetlyn and take her off me and show all his work friends!! (The party was one of his work friends daughters first birthday).

SHe is also going through a feeding frenzy at the moment. She was feeding every three hours yesterday- i am not sure if it was cause we were out she wasnt feeding as well as normal.

At the moment she is laying on the ground beside the computer asleep, I sat here while i was on the computer abd she was unsettled, so I layed her on the ground cause she likes to kick around heaps, and she went to sleep there.

Well am about to have a shower and go into the shops- to pick up heaps of photos that I got printed. Of and return some jeans i brought yesterday. LOL i got home and put them on again and they look aweful. Oh the jelly belly is discusting!!!!

Oh and DTD: we have successfully DTD (was at 4 weeks). And LMAO at Rebecca and saying it was like losing your virginity- thats what I had said to Aaron!!!!

Hope you are all well.

Well ethan has just gone off too sleep....again!! I went to check him about half an hour ago and i opened the door to his room and OMG i definately knew he had pooped, lol it smelt pretty bad, and it was all up his back and down his legs!! The grip tab on his nappy broke and he squirms alot in his sleep and that was the result :lol: so i had to wake him and off we went to enjoy a nice warm shower. Any way, now that he is asleep again i am going to attempt some personals.

SARA thats great that katelyn is sleeping right through now, its definately something im looking foward too!! Sounds like katelyn is a little party goer!! Lol @ Aaron taking katelyn from you and showing her off to the work mates. Its sad when our partners go back to work isn't it. Im with you on the disgusting jelly belly!! its gross, lol.

REBECCA ethan loves the car too but if we stop for too long we have to start searching for ear plugs!! We took ethan on a three hour drive to perth and once we got there he started to cry every time we got stuck at the traffic lights.

ZOFIA glad that diana is settling better and is not bringing up so much milk. I took your advice and when changing ethans clothes put a wrap over his tummy and he was okay, he doesn't mind me changing just his nappy now but still cries (better than the "mums mudering me" scream!!) when everything needs changing.
Its great when bubs self settle isn't it, ethan will do it occasionally, when he wakes up a night and its not feed time and he is not pain crying i leave him for a bit and sometimes he will go back to sleep otherwise i just have to go in and talk/sing to him and pat his bottom until he is close to falling asleep and then i leave the room and he goes off to sleep.

TRACEY well done to zyon on his big sleep i bet you feel better for it. Ethan was feeding like that when on the boob too and he feeds every 3 - 4hrs on formula, if he gets hungry between feeds i give him a little boiled water, as he cant have his feeds any less than 3hrs apart, even when he goes that little bit longer between he still doesn't seem to sleep any longer...one day!!

VERONICA Of course it doesn't make you a bad mum!! I wish i was able to leave ethan like that instead of ending up on the couch a blubbering mess, lol as long as you and jason enjoyed your time out together. Yay @ avaleigh sleeping in her bassinette now. I also tried DTD, and had to stop, was very uncomfortable and i have not quite healed yet either, im not planning on DTD again anytime soon!!

Well i have to cut this short as ethan is loudly demanding some attention lol!!
Sorry to you ladies i have not got too will try to do some better personals next time. Oh and im hoping to get my birth story on here by the end of today :)

Hi Mums,

having a bit of an exhausting day today. Liam decided to be a bit restless last night & again this morning, and hasn't really wanted to sleep for very long. I normally get at least a couple of hours after a feed, but this morning I was lucky if I got an hour - which for those of you who've got less sleepy babies you're probably going "yeah..and??..", but I'm not used to these shorter times I guess, & I feel like all I've been doing is feeding & feeding. And changing. And my left bosom is feeling really quite bruised, which is starting to get me a bit worried, cos not sure how to fix it. I suspect that maybe I've got a blocked duct, or the start of one, but he's having really good, long feeds off it, so don't really understand why/how it could be blocked. This is on top of the slight cracking that I've got on this side, so left side feeds not currently my favourite activity.

Pat started a new job today in the city, so no more slack half days & drop by visits when he's between sites :( It's weird, but I'm quite sure that Liam misses his Dad and notices that he's not around, cos he seems to settle better when Pat's in the house. I also think that he's going to smile at Pat first (we're still waiting for a definite smile), which is cute, but I think I'll be jealous, cos I'm the one that does most of the hard work, and certainly I'm the one that does the things that make him cry (washing his face is a particularly good one!), so it would be nice to get a reward. All in good time I suppose.

Am very jealous of all you girls who are getting good overnight sleeps. Ours aren't bad, but still nothing longer than 4 hours for the most part. And there's no self settling - if he's not asleep in my arms first, then he won't go down. I'm being a bit soft when it comes to this, was going to try to be a bit firmer about putting him down when he got to 4 weeks, but am thinking I'll let him grow up a little bit longer before I start to really try, cos I just adore the cuddles I get when he's sleepy. And once he's down he mostly stays there, so can't really complain I guess.
Anyway, here comes the food call, so better go. Sorry about no personals, will try to get some in next time.

Sara, you lucky thing with all night sleeping. Xavier feeds constantly during the day and 1 or 2 times over night.

Jessikah, love the birth story!!! We have the same problem with traffic lights. My mum drove us home this arvo, and Xavier wasn't happy 'cause he'd been woken when I strapped him in. :lol: my mum turned up the radio to drown him out a little.

he he, I've heard that scream at my house. It really is quite blood curdling.

Jan your nights sound a bit like mine, only waking a little, and yet it is still kind of hard, but then you almost feel guilty when you vent a little 'cause you know just how much harder others are doing. EG: after being awake for 1.5 hours last night I was just saying to xavier, I don't know what you want me to do, could you please just go to sleep, and then I think of those that are up all night with screaming. Could it be easier do you think to comfort a bubs that is clearly in discomfort, rather than one that doesn't know what he wants and then kicks punches and scratches you with those paper thin razor sharp fingernails.

Well whatever happens at night, I leave it in the previous day and we start a fresh each morning.
Today I put his aeroplane mobile above his change table, and I had a very happy and intrigued baby when I changed him. I rekon we almost got a smile.

Well hopefully last night was my bad night, and we will have another good night tonight.
