Hey everyone, just a quicky very tired women typing here:asleep: Have been up since 3am, Jack tummy has been causing him alot of grief lately. But it may be able to get better soon. My doctor seems to think he is lactose intolerant. She became sus at the appointment to get his needles as he had another pooy nappy. I told her that I had only ever changed one nappy that didn't have poo in it. She asked if they were ever froffy and smelt sweet and told her that nearly all the time they were like this. So I have to get a stool sample to be tested which is alot harder than I first thought.
Anyway so as much as it's not good to be lactose intolerant at least we will be able to look at getting him better.
Sorry for the selfish post.
Hopefully will be able to post again soon for some personals.
Take care.

Hey everyone!!
I got a moment to myself - Avaleigh is asleep YAY! The past few days have been really really good now that I have her colic and reflux under control. She is currently asleep, normally at this time we have a crying and screaming baby but not today! I have been awake since 6am tho  She woke up for a feed then and I thought that there is no point in going back to sleep, so I have had a shower and breakfast and wanted to go for a walk until I looked outside and it looks like it is going to rain!! I cant wait for winter to go away and summer to be here but I am not looking forward to the 40 degree days!
I'm joining back up at my gym today. I cant wait to get back in to it all!! I feel ready to start, hopefully they will let me start this week but I might need to wait until after my 6wk checkup, not sure what their policy there is so we will wait and see. I wonder how unfit I am going to be...
Mel - *hugs* you seen to be getting everything with little Jack! How different is he compare to Charlie?
Jan - restless nights are hard arent they?? My nights are getting better, not much screaming going on. Avaleigh manages to sleep in her bed until our midnight or early morning feed but then gets really unsettled cause she cant bring her wind up, so I end up sleep with her on the couch. Its funny, I didnt even imagine that for the first 5 weeks of her life I would be sleep on the couch! I went to a work leaving-do on Friday - two more guys left!! Now there is absoluletly no one in the install team!! HAHA I wonder if the place is going to shut down? There are only 6 people working in that office now!!
Jessikah - you gotta love when they poop all over themselves!! LOL Yesterday I changed Avaleigh out of her pj's (well bonds wondersuit - I call that her pj's!) and put her down and the next thing I know I have to change ALL her clothes cause she pooped all over herself.
Sara - I hear you on the jelly belly - ewwwwwwers! I need some new jeans cause I am still wearing my maternity jeans with a belt but I just cant bring myself to buying a bigger size!
Zofia - yay for Diana being able to settle herself!! I havent b/f out in public yet, I am trying to avoid doing that partly because I b/f Avaleigh laying down to help with her not getting her colic angry again.
Hello to everyone else - better go cause my lil one is stirring and will probably be awake soon.
-
Hi All,
Veronica - well done on Avaleigh sleeping. You've had a hard time but it seems you are getting things undercontrol - well done! I would love to start exercising but am waiting for my 6 wk check up. Coz I had a c-section I think it is best I wait till then coz I know my insides may still me mending but I do feel I could exercise.
Mel - hope you get a diagnosis soon. If Jack is lactose intolerant does that mean you go to a special formula?
Kungfubecca - the mobile above the change table sounds like a good idea.
Jan - Georgie over night won't go over 4 hours between feeds either, during the day she will only go 3 hours. But thankfully at night she will generally settle straight away (apart from last night 1 feed she took a bit of settling).
For me, had appointment with MCHN yesterday, in the past 2 wks Georgie has put on 660gms so now she is 3440gms. She is finally getting to the average size babies are born but so pleased she is putting heaps of weight. It feels great knowing my milk is doing that.
Georgie will only sleep with her head facing 1 direction and even when she is asleep we try to turn her head to the other direction but it won't go the full way and she turns it straight back so as a result her head is quite flat on the right side so MCHN has said we should get it looked at. We are either going to a paed physio or a chiro that specialises in kids. The physio is free so hopefully we can get in quickly (MCHN talking to physio today to see what the wait time is) but if we have to wait too long I'm going to take her to the chiro (which I will have to pay for but want to get this sorted quickly).
Georgie has also grown out of some of the 0000 wondersuits so that is quite exciting. All the other 0000 clothing is still quite big but it was quite exciting going for us to actually fit into some 000 clothing.
Hope everyone had good nights.
-
Morning/Afternoon everyone! Just quickly sticking my head in to say hi! I hope you're all going well - Alessia has been feeding more often lately so I feel like I constantly have my boobs out all the time! *lol* We have an appt with the MCHN this afternoon b/c at last week's appt, it looked as if Alessia had lost some weight (compared to the day before when she was weighed at the breastfeeding clinic). The MCHN thought it could be either b/c I stopped feeding her by bottle/syringe/cup or possibly b/c of a different set of scales. Fingers crossed my little one has put on some weight, b/c if she hasn't, I'm afraid they are going to force me to do comp feeds.
Anyways gotta go, it's bath time!
-
Hi all,
it sounds like a good day for most so far.
Mel my niece was put on lactose free formula when she was little. (she manages cows milk fine now) but the good news is, my sis found if you qualify for a health care card and you can get your doc to prescribe the lactose free stuff, it is really cheap. I think it ended up costing her somewhere around $5 per tin as opposed the the usual $20 not 100% on that 'cause I don't buy formula and don't know exactly how much it is.
Fingers crossed you get an answer though. Question, even though the heaps of poo, sweet smelling and frothy, has it caused him pain the entire time, or has it just started up recently?
-
Hey everyone,
I have managed to get a poo sample from Jack so should hopefully have some answers soon.
Rebecca, if it is lactose intolerance hopefully we'll still be able to b/f. My doc said there are drops called lactaid drops that give the lactise required by baby to break down lactose. So fingers crossed with me on soy products and cutting out all sugar and him on these we should be o.k to continue b/f, she did say though sometimes some babies do need to go onto a lactose free formula. Abount the poos and pains, he has always had both right from birth. I thought he had colic but didn't seem to be getting better, and most times with infant colic they should be starting to improve by his age or so my doc says. And the poos I thought were just from being a booby baby, but the froffy sweet ones aren't normal and she said that is what leads her to believe its lactose intolerance. I guess time will tell. Thanks for the info on the formula though.
Bridee, like I said to Rebecca hopefully Jack won't have to go onto foormula. yey n the big weight gain too.
Veronica, so happy for you that Avaleigh is starting to improve. My two kids are alot different. Charlee was a good sleeper during the day, but it wad 5 months down the track before she started to sllep through. Jack is the opposite he sleeps well during the night just doesn't at all during the dau unless he is being held. And charlee never had any pain problems. So alot different. Maybe if we had one more, I would get the best of both worlds;)
BTW ladies, we have accepted a contract on our house so fingers crossed in 2 weeks it goes unconditional. Oh and too Jack is no 5.9kg and 61cms long. That puts him inthe 75%th for weight and 90% for length.:p
-
Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to pop in to see how your all doing. Was hoping to do some personals but it has been real crazy around here this morning and i have to go out in an hour!! Ethan woke at 6am for a feed after waking every 1/2 hr for 3hrs crying, why i dont know....he was fed, no wind (thanks to infants friend:D) nappy was dry, comfy clothes, not too hot or cold, and it wasn't from his reflux!! Any way i fed him at 6 and he has not gone back to sleep till now (10 mins ago) he has just cried and screamed even when im holding him, after 3hrs of this we were crying together!! I wish Dh was here...not that he is very involved when he is home:angry: but just for someone to talk to, help keep me sane!! I ended up putting the music on...pretty loud and walking up and down the hallway singing and talking to him and he finally gave in and went to sleep, now im too scared to put him down incase he wakes up and we have the same thing for another 6 hrs!! I feel so bad for getting frustrated and stuff but its hard and today im really struggling with doing it all on my own:cry:. Well i really must try to go for a shower.
Sorry about the selfish post and for venting.
Hope your having nice days and Hugs to you all. :)
-
So sorry to hear your having a tough time ATM. Just out of curiosity do you wrap Ethan up tight? I know this makes a huge difference with both my kids. My eldest was wrapped until she was 7 months old, she loved it.
I wish I could give you a hug at tell you personally your doing a wonderful job. Everyone has bad days as well as good ones. I know how hard it is sometimes, I ended up outside with Jack the other day, while I let my 14 month old scream in her room:wall:. I just couldn't deal with her any longer. Then the next day she was as good as could be:rolleyes:. But that might be another idea, maybe a venture outside for a walk, might help the both of you, does wonders for me. Anyway sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I hope and I'm sure things will get better soon.
-
arvo ladies,
Mel sorry to hear that he's had the tummy pains for a while now. Great news that there is something available so you can still feed. I think with my sis, by the time they worked out the lactose problem she'd become disheartened try to feed for so long that she couldn't do it any longer.
I was worried Xavier would end up having an adverse effect from milk 'cause it didn't sit well with me or my sisters and both nieces had trouble. I think the lucky boy got dad's genes there. I swear Nathan is an anomaly and can handle huge amounts of lactose no probs.
Jessikah, please don't apologise for needing to vent. When I read your post I was wishing that you were closer so I could offer what little help I could. Did you consider calling your mum. Ethan might not be settling because he can smell you. Sometimes you just need to hand them to someone else so you don't go insane.
Maybe what mel suggested a nice walk? does he like the pram, Xavier goes to sleep in his, so I know it's a sure fire way to make him sleep.
-
Hi ladies
Well unfortunatley things have not improved since this morning, Ethan is still really unsettled, atm he is asleep in my arms, he is still only cat napping for 1/2 an hour before he wakes up screaming, i know that its a pain cry and i wish he could say where he hurts, i got some panadol for him today and i will give him some with his next feed and then try to put him in his bed, i sort of think its going to be a long night though. And the self settling has gone right out the window today lol, he was doing so well!!
Mel- Ethan really only likes to be wrapped when he feels like it, unfortunately today he doesn't feel like it!! I tried to take him for a walk this afternoon....i only made it to the end of my street and i had to turn back as two horrible women had me in tears (details in punching bag room), so we came home and tried a bath instead. Of everything i have tried today the pacing the hallway with the music going real loud worked the best, but may not be a good idea all night long, he he the neighbours would kill me!!
Sorry to hear about jacks tummy problems, yay for the poo sample, I hope you do get some answers real soon.
Bec- I didn't even think of calling my mum to be honest, lol, i think i was to stressed to think clearly but she did turn up and said she could hear ethan from the car, he just kept screaming for her too and i was a mess by then, i really didnt know what else i could do, so mum put her foot down and she told me to go have a soak in the bath and she will watch him for a bit, i tried to tell her no its ok mum he is to unsettled and she just politely told me to shut up, accept her help and let ethan scream at someone else for 1/2 an hour :D she sent me to the bath with my mp3 player and told me to put the head phones in and turn it right up so i couldnt hear!! I only lasted 15 minutes but was enough to get my sanity back. Ethan likes his pram usually too, but atm i dont think he likes any thing or any one!!
Thankyou both for your kind words, it made me feel alot better.
Well i must go get organised for ethans next feed, and then head off to bed. (hopefully longer than 1/2 an hour)
-
Jessikah, I go & have a shower when Zyon screams for longer than I can cope with, or I go check the mail box.. You do need a breather from the crying & babies wont hurt themselves from crying. Pop him in his bed & tell him you love him, but you just need a break...
Usually when I am outta the shower dried & dressed Zyon is either happily gurgling to himself, or fast asleep & I get a break, enough to deal with him if he starts screaming again..
I have found some cooled boiled water in a bottle helps him heaps with wind pain, if you havent tried that already?
I wear him in the hug a bub heaps to, popping Indah in the pram & as soon as I start walking he's asleep & if we get home from a walk & he's asleep I just leave him in it til he wakes up..
I hope he settles soon, trust me it will not last long (once your on the otherside of the unsettledness)....
Zyon slept from 8pm til 12:30, but woke at 3am had a quick feed & slept til 7am, he is in bed again now...
He is usually unsettled from 5pm, til he has his bath around 7:30, but we just sing & jiggle him!!!
-
Jessikah - I so hope that Ethan has settled down for you finally and that the sleep fairy has been kind. I think it's really really normal to feel frustrated at them when they just keep crying & you've tried everything, because, as my mum says, the crying just tears at your heartstrings unbelievably, and it also messes with your head after a while. We had a bad night last night too (although nothing like your bad day), and when Pat walked in from work he didn't even get a chance to get changed before I'd handed Liam over to him, I just had to have a break from holding him. I then sat in a chair with my head in my hands for about 5 minutes, trying to calm myself down too. Hopefully whatever was upsetting Ethan has resolved, and the self settling returns. Anyway, big hugs to you. :hugs:
-
you might find the unsuttled bubs will do a huge power poo, I know Zyon gets all raggy & then does a poo from neck to ankles & then is happy....???????
-
hey
looks like there are a lot of unsettled babies around!! avaleigh is one of them. She was crying and crying last night and the only way i could settled her was walking round the house bouncing!! my legs got tired after a while so i had to stop. I ended up giving her a feed about 2 hrs after her last one cause she was a little bit hungry and that helped her go to sleep. She's been crying this morning too so we went out for a walk and nearly got blown away! im holding her now and she is falling asleep.
tracey - my mum has told me to try a little bit of cooled boiled water. do you just give that to him after a feed and with every feed?/
 avaleigh has a stinky nappy i think but she's finally got her eyes closed!
-
V, If I have fed him & he has fallen asleep, but wont settle, like keeps crying once put down, I offer him some cooled boiled water in a slow flowing teat & he drinks about 10-20ml... He does a massive burp & settles down...?
They go through so many various stages etc...
-
hi all,
jessikah, i'm glad your mum arrived, she must have been using her mum senses and new you needed her. glad you got a break even if it was just 15 mins.
i have gone outside once or twice while Xavier cried, to hang washing or weed garden etc i felt a whole lot better after it.
we are a little unsettled yesterday and today, although i still feel like i'm getting off easy, lots of cluster feeding, almost 4 weeks old so must be time for a spurt.
i feel really guilty saying this but last night xavier slept from 11pm-5am, and then went back to sleep at 6am till 9. i got up at 8.30 felt like i had a sleep in.
-
Don't feel guilty Rebecca - that's fantastic that Xavier is sleeping so well *hugs*
Jessikah, I just want to send over some big hugs you poor bubba. It's tough at the best of times sometimes. I'm glad that u have your mum there to help u out *hugs*
Well Alessia and I are surviving on our own today - David went back to work today :( Only 2.5 hrs til he's home. Alessia has been really clingy today. She only wants to sleep in my arms which is unusual 4 her. I don't mind - it just means I have to type a lot slower!
-
Rebecca, must have been a good night for sleeping for Xavier and Jack. Jack slept from 9:30pm until 6am. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at the clock this morning when he begun to stir. Must have been stuffed, poor little bugger.
Jessikah, I hope your having a better day today. How is Ethan going?
Veronca, sounds like little Avaleigh might be going through a growth spurt. I have found Jack to be similiar when he is going through growth spurts. I think that is why he is sleeping better ATM, I think he has just finished one.
Tracey, LOL at Zyons explosions. Charlize used to be the same, but Jack doesn't seem to store them up and let them rip, he is more of a what goes in, comes straight out kinda kid.
Janno, hope your having a good day too.
Hi to everyone.
Must go some little miss is being just that ATM.
-
Snap Fran, glad to hear your first day alone is going so well.:D
-
I added some pic's from today... if ya wanna have a squizz!!!!!!!!!
-
Good Afternoon Ladies:)
Well its all over...Ethan is back to being a happy little boy!! Atm he is laying next to me in his pram, awake and not screaming:D I managed to get him settled and asleep in his bed at 1.30am and he slept for 3.5hrs, which is his normal and i thought phew he is back to himself, he went back to sleep at 6.30am and he woke up at 12.30!!! He slept for 6 HRS and only stirred once about 10.30 but went back to sleep by himself!!...i nearly had a heart attack, lol the longest he has slept for is just over 3.5 hrs. He was starving and gulped his milk down like a little piglet but he parted with his wind beautifully.
Thankyou all for your support, it really helped me get through reading all your kind words and advice. If ethan could type he would probably thankyou for helping his mum stay sane!!:D
Now i can even do some personals as the little prince is almost in the land of zzz's again, i dont want to speak to soon but i think maybe we are going to have a wonderful day.
Mel - Wow @ Jacks big sleep, thats great. Ethan was like jack when he was b/f "what went in came straight back out" but now with the f/f he stores them up and i wonder how such a small baby can have so much poo!!
Fran - Thanks hun:) I too am glad yours and alessia's first day on your own is going well, its a bit daunting when they first go back to work! How did your appt go with the MCHN yesterday? Has alessia gained some weight? I had to comp feed with Ethan b/c the CHN said that he was not sleeping properly because there wasnt enough goodness in my breast milk and he was feeding but wasnt getting enough, but i wish i hadnt b/c two days later he refused to have my breast milk :( funny thing was my m/w's said i had lovely rich milk!! Im sure if you do have to comp feed, you will have better luck than me, and everyone's different:)
Bec - Yes, dont feel guilty, its really good that xavier sleeps well. I felt the same way today, i was like OMG i have a 5wk old baby and im still asleep at lunch time!! It was great.
Tracey - Boiled water works well with ethan sometimes too, he drink 10 to 20mls also, i give him some water once a day to make sure he doesn't have to much trouble with his poo's being on formula, and i give it too him to help with his wind before i try infants friend. Ethan doesn't do the huge poo after being unsettled but sometimes when he gets really worked up, he farts like crazy he sounds like a man sometimes not a little boy lol.
Veronica - Sorry to hear avaleigh has been unsettled as well, i know what you mean by sore legs, i had to pace the hallway for a few hrs yesterday and lastnight, but hey at least were getting some exercise!! Dont you hate it when they fill there nappy when they have just gone to sleep, a few times when i was still b/f ethan i would put him in his cot and i would just be walking out the door and he would do a poo!! Now i just hear him on the monitor grunting and groaning, trying to do one!!
Jan - Sorry to hear that liam was unsettled too. Hugs to you. It gets quite tough at times doesn't it. i agree with your mum that the crying pulls at your heart strings, seeing ethan cry so much yesterday made me so sad. And after awhile it really does mess with your head, after ethan finally went to sleep lastnight i was sure i could still hear him crying, but he was sound asleep:redface: hope today is a better day.
Well im going to go and enjoy a nice shower while ethan is still sleeping beautifully. Hope you all have a good afternoon. Thanks again :)
Tracey i just looked at your pics, Zyon is gorgeous!!
-
Hi Lovely Ladies!
Hope you don't mind me crashing but my little man Hamish is a July bub and I noticed MUMMY MEL seems to be having some similar probs with her bundle Jack. Hamish started passing blood and mucus in his stools at about 3 weeks and a sample was taken to rule out a bacterial infection which left us with Breastmilk Colitis as a possible cause-- this can be linked to lactose intolerance. He was in quite a bit of pain as well and although with changes to my diet the pains seem to have subsided he is still passing blood and mucus and also has frothy poos at times. I like MEL don't want to stop b/f'ing so am hoping we have some kind of breakthrough soon. I'm off all dairy, seafood, nuts and strawberrys (basically anything tasty). So anyhoo it would be nice to chat to someone with similar issues and same age bubs.
Chat soon :D.
-
Welcome Hope (and Hamish),
I hope you find a solution soon, cause it wouls be ashame to stop breastfeeding.
Well nothign to report here, we are going for Kaetlyns first photo shoot tomorrow with pixiphoto, I cant wait- it is free and we get a frre portrait- I was in the bounty bag, so we thought, what the heck?
I am not sure what to do with her wild hair thoguh. it looks so cute spkied up! anyideas anyone?
-
Hi hope, has Hamish been tested for lactose intolerance? The bloody stools sounds scarey, Jack has never had blood in them, that must have been scarey to see it first time around, I guess it still must be scarey though. Are they still testing him to find out what is causing it or are you just monitoring what your consuming to see if there is a link?
Well we just got the confirmation tonight from my doc that Jack is Lactose Intolerant. But on the bright side, now we know what it is we can treat it.:). So it's it's soy for me and no sugar from here on in, as well as some lactaid drops for Jack. Hopefully this is enough to control it, cause if it's not he has to go onto lactose free formula. We also have to be observant too over the next few weeks, as it was left untreated for 2 months could have cause his bowles some damage:cry:. I feel terrible I let it go so long, but at the same time I'm annoyed at the MCHN for firstly telling me it was colic then dismissing all my concerns about his poos and pains even after the colic relief mixtures, oh well I guess she wasn't to know.
Jessikah, so glad to hear you had a good day today. Fingers crossed tomorrow is the same.
Blueflower, I used to love to put Charlize in headbands with flowers or bows on them. But she had no hair (still doesn't:doh:) but maybe a little clip would look cute, I'm still waiting to use clips.
Tracey, he is so cute. I love his outfits, he looks like a little rockstar!!!
So, fingers crossed once I get the drops tomorrow and stock up on some soy products we will be all good soon.
Oh and BTW it's back to open houses and inspections for us, the contract offered has fallen though:wall: I HATE CLEANING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
BTW just updated the kids website with a couple of pics, been so slack lately. But now I'm ready for bed.:p
Nighty night all.
-
HI all,
Fran, I hope you made it through the day ok. the first day is really hard. I didn't get much sleep in the first 2 days nathan was back at work and it made me cry, so it sounds like your doing better than I did.
Mel, Yay for jack sleeping. you lucky thing. while the lactose intolerance isn't great, it must be comforting to know what is wrong now. I hope the measures your using helps and you don't have to resort to formula. poor little tacker. Poor mummy, no yummy food
Tracey, I love your pics, esp the smiley one. He looks so happy!!
Jessikah, woo hoo on the sleep. He must of been really tired!! I hope he does that at night for you next.
Welcome hope and hamish, fingers crossed you find out what is wrong and that hamish starts getting better soon.
Sara, good luck with the photo shoot. A little clip like mel said would be cute, but you could go to town and spunk her up with some spikes
I've noticed that Xavier is getting more mummy orientated, ie settling is easier for me (sometimes) and I think Nathan is getting a little disheartened. I asked him if he wanted a cuddle this arvo, and he said, "but he'll just start crying" it made me sad, but I told nathan to not be silly and gave xavier to him. Has anyone else experienced this.
Well wishing everyone lots and lots of sleep tonight!
-
Rebecca- I had the same with aaron- the first three days he went back to work, when he came home Kaetlyn was really upset, and he was upset he couldnt play around with her, causse all she wanted to do was sleep- she cried.
Luckily he now has four days of to spend a lot of time with her (but then he is workin 7 days stright, so that is going to be abummer for me and him).
I must admit also that when aaron is at work, Kaetlyns nappy does not get changed as much- I just forget to do it, whereas aaron is more poractive in doing it as he cant feed her-its like its his job that he does for her :D
-
Hi everyone,
Lucas Jay born 22/7/07 5lb 12oz@36+2 wks. He was due in August, hence the august_moon_mum!
Congrats for all the July births :happyforyou:
Lucas is great and we have been very lucky when it comes to settling and sleeping. Lucas had gastroschisis and spent the first 3 weeks in NICU so he got used to being fed, wrapped and put down to sleep, this has carried over to being at home...for now.
kungfubecca, I hear you on the mummy orientated thing. DP looks disheartened when bubs settles easier with me.
Congrats again on all your beautiful bubs,
Mel:)
-
Rebecca - Georgie settles better for me as well, which I feel sad for DH but I guess it only makes sense since we are spending so much time with them, we get to know more what they like and don't like and what works and doesn't work. I try really hard not to tell DH what he should be doing - sometimes hard but I think it is important.
-
Morning ladies...it's day number 2 today without my hubby and once again Alessia has decided that she only wants to sleep in my arms. Thankfully she's down in her cot so I could have some breakfast! It's tough not having a 2nd pair of hands around at the moment, particularly as she may be having a growth spurt and now is having much more frequent feeds and more awake time.
To add to the rest of my breastfeeding problems, my right nipple has had it...I think I kept feeding Alessia on it b/c I just wanted to perservere with the breastfeeding at all costs...and the cost was my nipple! It's wrecked! I'm now feeding with a nipple shield so hopefully the nipple will heal up soon.
Sorry for the selfish post ladies...I now realise how much time a bub takes up in our day! Take care everyone and chat soon!
-
OMG - today is DHs first day back at work and far out it is soooooooo busy. I know I have been very very spolit to have him home this long but I am quite worried about how I am going to do deal with three children day in and day out!! I know I sound dramatic and I know I will survive but I just needed to vent a little LOL!! Well no time for a long post - gotta run. I guess the good news is that at least he is working in Adelaide for a month a before he starts going away again.
Take care everyone.
BBL to see what is going on with everyone.
Jem
-
Hi everyone, I am still following everyone's post, just struggling to make long personal posts.
Well I am having my first OMG I can't do this day as well. I have been home on my own with all 3 for 3 weeks now, but Angus has already fed 5 times today since 4.30am and has not been to sleep in between - he is fair dinkum doing my head in considering he normally only feeds 6 times a day. I am just hoping that it is his big 6 week change and he is needing more milk, cause I don't want this to become habit.
I hope everyone else is doing OK - Jem you know I am feeling your pain! We could have been a little smarter and had one at school like Tracey! lol
-
Hi there all,
Been a crazy few days with someone going through yet ANOTHER growth spurt...... grrr.... luckily my boobies are holding up well!
Last night was Lach's first night in his 'big boy bed' ( aka cot!) He slept reasonably well.
Hes so much more awake now, and sometimes way too over excited when daddy gets home! lol
But apart from 2 hourly feeds throughout the night, all is still going strong.
He has his milk rash all over his face and head, adn looks like a teenager in full bloom! lol
We are going to Adams parents for fathers day, and one set of Adams grandparents will be there to meet Lach for the first time. Then next weekend is the big trip to Wagga. Hopefully, I find it easy enough to stop and feed him on the way... although it is only 4-4.5 hours... so he might sleep the whole time... He loves the car!
Well, my Johnny money finally came through after centrelink stuffed up... suprise suprise. lol
So I went out today and spent $200 on clothes for him! hehe I couldnt help myself!
Oh and first 'public' feed on Monday!!! EEEKKK!! We went to the baby care room in Myer, so technically not so public, but it was still not at home!

Hope all is still well today! Hopefully I cn do some personals later;)

Hi all,
yeah nathan changes the nappies too. he litterally jumps up to do it, I don't stop him. I've changed a few during the days, not to mention I have been pooed and weed on a few times now. twice today infact.
I try not to tell nathan what to do, and last night with the bath i walked off so they could play together.
Ouchie fran on the nipple. I had what looked like little scabs in the first week, and they went within a few days of using some nipple stuff. I bought nipple guards, didn't end up using them, was wondering how they would work for me though 'cause they were huge, my nipple wasn't that big???
Jemima and Relle, you have just scared me into a possible look into the future with 3 kiddies. Hmm oh well I have plenty of time to think about it all.
Nicki, I hope lachlans new clothes fit him after his growth spurt. You know I rekon I walked past you on Monday. where you near target at all around lunchtime I think?? I knew about myers bubs room, never been there. Did you know that behind the old post office near the toilets there is a baby change area too. It is also a maternal and child health center (called the muse) there are chairs and toilets and change station sinks etc in there. I used it about a week ago and it was empty, I had the place to myself if the door is locked you just push the buzzer and someone unlocks the door for you.
Well we went and had a lovley picnic with Gran, aunty shan and xaviers cousins. Xavier was a very good boy and slept the entire time. but now keeps telling me his hungry. Although I checked my email today only to find out my boss has just resigned and will be gone in 5 weeks. He bought in lots of business so now I'm a bit worried about if my actual job will be there when I get back. I know I still have a job, if that will be what I was doing before I left, I don't know. Bit scary really. we'll see what happens, maybe it will be easier to go back part time if my job changes.

Hi all...I've updated my website with a few more pics of Alessia - can't wait to organise some professional photos of her too...may wait til she gives us a few more smiles before we do that though. I'm so proud of my little girl today...she's had 2 good feeds and 2 long stretches of sleep this arvo. Yay!

Fran, those pics are really cute. I'm a little jealous of the smiley pics though, Xavier doesn't smile at me, he's way too serious. He puts his happy face on when he sees his plane mobile but that's the closest we get.

Mummy Mel I've just PM'd you a link to a great article on lactose intolerance from the ABA site.
Hope all the other yummy mummies are well rested-- ha,ha! Hamish had a complete shocker last night and ended up in bed with us asleep on my hubby in the early hours of this morning-- naughty I know-- but he's been a perfect angel today. You win, you lose!
Cheers to a good night sleep for all of us tonight!
Hope :p

Morning all,
Brrr it's cold and windy hear today, but on the bonus side, Nathan took the washing off the line before he left for work  he would have never done that before!!
I'm so proud
4 weeks old today!!! We will be off for a walk in the wind, and er possibly rain soon to our MCH visit to see how much this little piglet has grown. I get to use my rain cover today and we get to wear winter clothes, 'cause there is no way he will overheat today. (We've been dressing for spring 'cause he's a bit warm like his dad)
I think I got smiled at today, it was too long (if that makes sense) and there was definite happy eye contact, for it to have been wind. I hope he smiles for Nathan on Sunday, while he's wearing his I love daddy t Shirt.
Well I would wish everyones daddies a happy fathers day, but alas I will probably be back here several times before Sunday.
Hope everyone has a good day today.
