    Hi everyone

Just to let you know that Diana is okay after her fall. She is as bright, happy and alert as ever.

Rebecca - re potty training - I started it when I noticed a pattern, that she would nearly always wee after I took her nappy off. So I started holding her over the potty at nappy changes and went from there. It wasn't hard. I imagine it would be different for a boy, but I'm sure you could apply the same principle, i.e. look for a pattern and work with it.

    Welcome back Nicky and Flossie.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

    Hi All
    Nothing much to report here.
Baptisim gown is gowing really well, invites are out today.
Kaetlyn has been a little unsettled the lst couple of days- I think she is going through a growth spourt again and during the day is feeding about2 hourly so my nipples are a tad bit to sore at the moment.
I am also starting to express a little each feed for Aaron so that he can do an odd feed for her (and to give my boobies a little rest!!).
From those of you that express, how much do you save per feed and also how much do you express at a time? I want to make sure there is milk left in my BB for the next feed IFYKWIM???

    Hape a good day everyone....

I get about 200ml per breast & freeze it in lots of 180ml usually... But if I leave it in a bottle to feed soon after I have it about 150ml... He usually drinks it all.

I'd express about 45mins -1.5hours after a feed, there will be milk & enough time to make more before next 1 too...

Just quickly popping my head in. I have to express and dump all my milk before Alessia wakes up! (I had some medical tests yesterday & as a result couldn't breastfeed for 24 hours)

Sara You work out how much milk Kaetlyn needs based on her weight & how many feeds she has in 24 hours. Might be best to ask your MHCN when u see them next. I've been giving Alessia 110mL at each feed. She's currently 4.25kg and has 7 feeds per day. I tried to express 1 hour after I'd last fed her & if I knew there was less than 1 hour before her next feed, I wouldn't express as I don't have a massive supply. HTH

    Hi to everyone else!!!!

    hey everyone!

I hope all is well. Things are good over here. Avaleigh, myself and the dogs have been on major walks yesterday and today!! Yesterday we walked to the beach, it was about 30 mins to get there and 40 to get back (Had a major hill to walk up!) and today we went to the next suburb over to walk around the lakes. Not sure how long it took to get there and back but we were out for about 1.5hrs. The dogs dont know whats hit them!! I wonder if they are still going to be getting excited about going for walks knowing that we are out for so long! LOL The good thing is, I have lost 1/2 a kg, so thats now 1kg in a week!! Hopefully it keeps coming off and I am looking great for my wedding.

I've had a bit of success with Avaleigh and her cot today. I put her down at midday, she slept for a while but then woke up so I put her mobile on and she fell asleep for a lil while until she lost her dummy. So in went the dummy and mobile back on and she is still nice and quiet!

I bought her an electric swing yesterday and she loves it! We were having dinner last night and she got in to her unsettled mood, so we popped her in it, turned up the speed and within a few minutes she was asleep!! First dinner in peace for a while! YAY! But then I made a mistake of bathing her and OMG was she screaming cause she was so tired!! Wont be doing that again.....

Well better go, movies is on foxtel that I want to watch.

    Hi All

Nicki of course we want to hear!!

Tracey, so good to hear Zyon is doing so well now. I hope everything stays good for the trip to bali. Thanks for listing the info on expressing.

Hi flossie, Glad to hear your going ok, I hope the healing finishes soon for you.

Zofia, glad diana is ok, I imagine it would be difficult with a boy, because I think he would manage to spray across the room and not in the potty but at least if your watching you get a little warning

sara, I was wanting to know the answer to that as well, big 6 weeks this friday, so I need to start experimenting so that i'm prepared to return back to work next year.

Fran thanks for providing your info on expressing too, it's good to hear everyones experiences.

Veronica, yay on the weight loss you will look fantastic for your wedding. I seem to have plateaued, but I must admit i'm not trying and I'm eating way too many naughty foods. Glad to hear avaleigh is getting better in her cot, and that the swing works well, I looked at one in the target catalogue today and had to tell my self we don't need one, 'cause seriously I don't think he would like it, it would be a waste of money.

Well we have little to talk about, being a very sleepy little man this week, can't complain. Our new favorite time of the day is around 4 am, Xavier likes to smile at me then, and I know he's smiling at me 'cause there is nothing else at that time of the day!!
Counting down to the end of these 6 weeks on Friday, don't think the growth spurt has happened yet though. Might try to weigh and measure him and see.

Well heres to everyone having a good day and night.

Veronica - do you put Avaleigh in her cot during the day? I am thinking of the transition of bassinette to cot and just hope Olivia sleeps the same in the cot than her bassinette. She is very tall and will be wanting more room soon....she is 59.5cm....9cm more than when she was born!!
Yah! on the weight loss also - when is the wedding?? I have been lucky and my weight dropped overnight it seemed - back into the size 12 and I wasn't even in them before I was pregnant...maybe over 18 months ago I was. I have to be careful when I finish expressing as I will probably put it all back on I don't.

So exciting, a friend of mine had a baby boy yesterday, 2 best friends just had the 12 week scans today and another friend is due in 2 weeks....babies everywhere!!!

Rebecca - Avaleigh loves the movement so I think it was a good investment. But I know what you mean about buying stuff you dont need! ARGH! I bought a HAB that I've only used once and this other thing that vibrates!! LOL Waste of money!

Flossie - I've just started putting Avaleigh in her cot last week and its been a bit of a mission!! Avaleigh doesnt sleep much during the day as it is so she wasnt happy going in there last week, but today she seems a lot happier. I'm happy that I have started the transition now cause I thought it was going to be a lot easier!! My wedding is on the 16th of December, so not too far away!! I have 10kg that I want to lose but would be happy to lose 5kg.

WOW, Veronica, I use my HAB, almost daily, sometimes it's a few times each day, but I wear Zy & push Indah in the pram...

I have lost 9kgs & have 5 more to get to a weight I'm happy with...

I too hadn't used my HAB much until last week, now I'm using it daily.

I did the shopping with it on the other day and these ladies pointed and giggled because he looked so cute tucked in there. I also find that it puts xavier in a good position, and he quite often burps when i put him in.

    What is a hAB?

V - yeah I think I might try her in her cot on Thurs as I am home all day and see how she goes. I don't think I will like it as much as the bassinette as the bassinette is easier to put her in and out.

DH just feed Olivia and I walked into the room and she was holding the bottle all by herself!! haha bit young I know but she likes to 'help' us out when we feed her. I took a photo so will post it on the website soon. She is asleep now which is great. She feel asleep on me while I was keeping her upright while digesting.

Have a good night all - I am going to have a nice long hot shower and wash my hair....I love it when DH comes home

Hi Flossie, great to hear that you and Olivia are doing so well. Sorry to hear about the tear though. It must be longest 9 weeks of your DH's life And I think HAB is a hug a bub baby sling/carrier ??????????????

Tracey, so glad to hear that Zyon has improved so much. Fingers crossed he only continues to get better. Only a few more sleeps now.

Rebecca, hope cute that Xavier is smiling at 4am.

Veronica, well done on the walks. But I don't think you have to worry too much about losing too much weight for the wedding, you look wonderful to me, and that by going from a shot taken a couple of days after you gave birth The wedding is in December isn't it?

Blueflower, when is the christening? I'm still to organise this for both our kids and me too as a matter of fact

Nicky, hang in there it all gets easier, just might feel like forever. What did you go to Wagga for?

Fran, when do yo uget the results of the test?

Zofia, sounds like Diana is setting the standards re the potty training, maybe she can give my 15 month old some advice

Well for us, things are still really hectic. Both kids still have colds. I woke up yesterday with one too, so we are all miserable. Charlize is staying at my mums tonight as we had another open house. Had alot of interest, so fingers crossed something comes of it. Going to take Jack to the doc tomorrow about his reflux meds, as he is refusing to swallow the zantac, so he is not improving. Plus I'm starting to get worried about his cold, it sounds so hard for him to breathe. I use an aspirator (sp?) that seems to help, but he just scares me to hear him struggling. Charlize is still suffering from the eczema too, and she is nearly finished the tube of steroid cream, so don't know what do next, maybe a stonger cream, probably another trip to the quak for her too, we seem to be paying my doc's wages at the moment, just lucky for us she bulk bills for the kids.

Anyway must be off and bath this little guy.

    Take care.

    Hi everyone

I am supposed to be writing my assignment rather than being on BB. Have to get on to that next.

Diana has had a good day today. She has been very active and playful and vocal. She is beginning to make these cute cooing noises. She is 12 weeks old today and was weighed today at 5.05kg. Woo hoo. She has become really strong recently. She can hold her head up and sometimes when I hold her up and her feet touch the surface of whatever she is on, e.g. the floor, my lap, the couch, etc, it seems that she is almost able to stand and only needs my support for balance. I can also almost hold her on my hip (the way women do in movies).

Mel - thanks for the comment re potty training. Sorry to hear that your babies are still sick. Hope you all get better soon.

Flosse - a HAB is a baby carrier. LOL re Olivia holding the bottle. Diana has done that too. It's so cute, isn't it?

Sara - good on you for making Kaetlyn a baptism gown. I don't think I'd have the skill for something like that. I am getting someone else to make one for Diana, although I will attempt to make her a hat. Re expressing milk - the formula I was told to use to work out how much to feed bub is as follows: baby's weight x 150ml divided by no of feeds in 24 hrs, e.g. if your baby is 4kg and feeds 6 times a day, the amount is 4 x 150mls = 600ml / 6 = 100ml. This is only a rough guide, but it seems to work for Diana.

Tracey - wow re expressing 200ml per breast! I'm lucky if I get 180ml from both...

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're having a good evening.

Bridee ~ So sorry to hear about your DS, hang in there it won’t be for long and see what the paed says first too. I’m sure everyone will be more interested in your beautiful little girl rather than any brace at the party but I understand how you feel and hope that you are ok.

MMel ~ I hope everything is working out for you after seeing the doctor. Try not to be too hard on yourself about not trusting your intuition sooner, it’s hard to find the time!!. What natural methods do you use for her?

Fran & Jemima ~ My DP has been home for 5 days and it’s the longest we have been together since DS was born really. (We didn’t bring him home until he was 17 days old and DP was back at work already by then). He’s been really hands on the last few days and Lucas has bonded really well with him because of it.

blueflower ~ would love to see some pictures of the Baptisim gown, all the best for your special day.

Flossie ~ Wishing you a speedier recovery so you can get back into the swing of things. I wish I had some more advise but I hope you are feeling ok.

Ngala ~ Hope Avaleigh is getting used to her cot. We finally separated ourselves from Lucas and put him in his own room. He is actually sleeping a lot better day and nights now but we have a cradle by our bed incase he needs us. DP and I miss co-sleeping but bubs is happy !

tears ~ the pram walk sounded like fun! I'd love to do something like that here.

And I hope everyone else and their babes are well. We are all good and recovered from the last two weeks dramas. I'm very happy to say that I just did a nappy change and there was poo! woohoo for Lucas! I was doing it in the dark and somehow it got from in the nappy to on the floor and I didnt even know until I trod on it putting him back in his cot, weird I know! Luckily it was hard as a rock! He has had really bad constipation and I gave him some of those coloxyl drops last night, looks like they work! Thank goodness. I've been trying to get a hold of his paed for the last two days unsuccessfully which I'm a bit peeved about actually...

    *Big Love* to all.

Mummy Mel, Have you squirted breastMilk in Jack's nose? I did that with Zyon a few times & it kept his cold/sniffles at bay! It's brilliant stuff, actually I had a patch of eczema on my face (stress related when I was getting no sleep!) & I put EBM on it in morning & night & in 3 days it was gone, might work on Charli's ??? It's worth a shot!?? 3 sleeps to go! YAY!

Flossie HAB is a hug a bub, it's a long material that ties the baby on to you (basically) Zyon sleeps in it during the day for 5 hours if I leave him in there whiolst we do stuff around the house, walk to the school etc!!! It will be my saviour at the airport!!!

Zofia, I have always been a decent Dairy cow!!!

    Ok he's waking better go!!!
