I know what the HAB are now!! I have one of those baby bjorn ones but haven't used it just yet!! Olivia is so heavy I don't know if I could walk around the shops with her in that :)
Question - has anyone had a pulling down sensation downstairs? At first I thought it was the tear, then I thought it could be my pelvic floors now I have been told (not by drs yet) that it could be my uterus pulling down - falling to low IYKWIM??? I am going to the drs on Wednesday but whatever it is I hope it doesn't mean surgery!!
Got to run, Olivia is crying got to hate this 'unsettled hours'
Floss xx
-
Hi everyone
Flolssie - great to hear from you and I am glad you are starting to feel better. Gee Olivia is so long. Sorry cant help you with the pulling down sensation. I hope you get some answers from your Dr and that it isnt anything serious.
Mel - how are you and the kids feeling? Wow at Jack weighing 6.5 kilograms - chubby bubbas are sooooo cute!! Why did the Dr change Jacks medication to Losec? Losec is what Jesse was on.
Tracey - have a wonderful time in Bali - sounds like you are all very excited and rightly so! I am jealous (in a good way)!!
Fran - sounds like things are going well and hopefully the 2am feed was a one off!!
Rebecca - yay for the 7 hour sleeps. I got the navy and berry hab - I really wanted a denim one but they were a one off I think and although the navy and berry doesnt go with everything I wear I still really like the colour. I am thinking I might get an ergo once Charlotte gets a bit bigger.
Blueflower - cant wait to see kaetlyns christening gown. You are very brave for taking on such a task!!
V - how are the wedding plans coming along. SOunds like you are doing some BIG walks - good on you. Have you been back to the gym yet?
ZOfia - I am glad Diana is OK - must have given you a fright. I agree with you that the cooing noises are just soooooo cute.
AMM - yay for Lucas doing a poop. Who knew we could get so excited over somthing so icky!!
Nicky - I hope Lachlan is sleeping and settling for you.
Well not much is new here just busy busy busy busy. DH is very busy with work at the moment so we havent seen too much of him lately. He still isnt home and goodness knows when he will turn up!! Makes for a very long day. Charlotte is just doing so well - luckily she is quite content to just sit and watch the chaos going on around her and she is sleeping like a dream. She went to sleep last night at 7pm and I tried to feed her at 9.30pm but she only managed 5 minutes so I put her back to bed and she slept until 5.50am and then didnt get up again until 7.30am. Thank goodness cause before she was born I was having visions of what we went through with Jesse which I know some of you are going through now so my heart goes out to you.
I went shopping today for some new clothes and I just dont know where to start. I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and my clothes are all still a bit tight hence the need to buy something new - which is a pain cause I know or at least I hope my new outfit wont fit me for long as I am planning on losing more weight. Anyway I didnt find a new outfit - a lot of the stuff is quite maternity looking but I did get a nice pair of black ballet flats with a cute bow on the top (like I needed them hehehe).
Anyway I had best run and go and sit on the couch for a while. I am addicted to vaalia youghurt at the moment so I am going to go and eat some right now.
take care
Jem

Zofia and anyone else in sydney the link is Member Meet-Ups Expert Seminars - BellyBelly Forums ~ Pregnancy, Birth & Baby for the forum. Its at fairfield city farm - even though our bubbas are a bit young LOL. Not sure where abouts you are though.
-
Sara, thanks for the invite. I am in Redfern/Surry Hills and work in Kensington, so Fairfield is a bit far for me. Hope you guys have a good day though. It sounds like a lot of fun. :)
Hi to everyone else. Diana is asleep and I am writing my assignment. Really. ;)
-
Jem, we have changed over to losec as Jack wouldn't swallow the zantac, so it wasn't working. So far he has had 2 doses and he threw them back no worries, so fingers crossed he gets better over the next day or two. He has been alot better lately though, but he is still in some pain, but hopefully not for long. We are all still sick. Jack seems to be getting a little less snotty, Charlize too, but my nose is running like a tap still. Charlee is still teething too, they are so close to breaking through it's not funny, hopefully will do soon, as she is not a happy chappy lately. Has Jesse's cream arrived yet? Charlize eczema is still not cleared, even with the steroid cream. What to do next? What else do you do? And wow at Charlottes sleep last night. Hopefully we won't be too far beind you.
Fran, fingers crossed you get good results on friday. I will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best.
Can't talk too long, my bed is calling.
Have a good night all.

Hey Everyone!
Wow it was a bit busy in here!!
August - it is a little sad moving bub to the cot because I love being near her!! Jason is being a bit funny about it and saying that he wants to be near his girl so he can see and hear her, but she cant be in her cot forever!! I was planning to put her in her cot last night for the first time but Jason said no cause we need to get another door barrier thingy to keep the dogs out of her room cause I want her to sleep with her door open and if its open, the dogs will get in!!
Tracey - hope you have a great time in Bali!
Nicky - *hugs* I hope things get better over your end!
Flossie - cant say I can help you out with that sensation. I hope you get some answers soon and its nothing too serious.
Jem - my wedding plans are going real well. My mum has been a total life saver!! if she didnt step in to help, I wouldnt have gotten anywhere!! And yes, I am back at the gym. I've been back for about 2 weeks now and am soo loving it!! Today it was real good, I feel like I am back to my old self again!! Now I just need to lose the weight. I desperately need to go shopping for new clothes too!! I am still wearing my maternity jeans and am pulling them up all the time!
Well its been raining like cats and dogs here today - it was coming in side ways when I was driving to mums!! Jason and I spent a nice morning together. We went to the shops and had lunch at a cafe and bought about 5 photo albums LOL!! I am planning to make up some albums for my mum, Jason's mum, Jason's grandparents and his dad - so that should be fun.
Avaleigh has been great the past few days. I'm back to sleeping in my bed. I want to try and break her afternoon/evening routine tho. She has been falling asleep around 6.30pm these days and then sleeping through to midnight and I used to bath her at 8.30pm until this routine started but now I cant!! How can I go about breaking the routine?? Should I wake her up for her bath?? I feel so rude waking her tho!
-
Veronica- We bath Kaetlyn after a feed. That way she is settled, not hungry and a we bit sleepy. Otherwise she screamed the house down. I bath her in the mid day, early evening as it can get quite cold her at night. Yeah on the gym!!! I would love to join the one around the corner- but there is no child minding facilities :( and I would never get there. I start playing netball again in a couple of weeks, so should be fit after a couple of days! LOL i might nominate myself for center, so that I have to run around.
Zofia, its a shame you cant come, maybe at another meetup? It would be a long trip for you! esp if you dont drive! (not sure if you do or dont, but most city people i know dont have cars!!!).
Well Kaetlyn has just fell alseep without her dummy- which is really unusual for her!! I heard her stirring in her cot after her feed and went to check on her, and she was laying there chatting to herself, and but not crying so i just left her there, SHe is now asleep!
Rebecca- LMAO about the tiger stripes!! I never thought of them like that, but thats exactly what mine look like!! It was only the last week of pg that they all decided to visit and not leave me . We didnt end up going to a public place, just my cousins house, so all was good. I think today that I will have to feed her in public. I think as tracey said- Once youve done it once its ok..... its just doing it once that is my issue!!! All other times i have avoided it.
Mel- good luck with the losec.
Everyone else- enjoy the good weather - well we have nice weather at the moment, so I will enjoy mine!
-
Veronica, If Zy's asleep at 8 we undress him a bit so he wakes & then bath him, I dont want to be up feeding at midnight, he then is bathed & dressed & feeding around 8:30 & wakes around 2am for a feed & then sleeps til 7-7:30....
-
Sara, I'm with Tracey I don't even think twice now when I pop the booby out in public. Don't get me wrong, I'm still discrete, just not nervous or shy anymore. You'll be the same soon!!
Veronica, sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday, good one you. I wake Jack for his bath at night around 8:30pm. He is sound asleep normally when I do so, but he soon gets over it. I look it at this way, they don't mind waking us up at midnight so a 8:30pm wake up is only far, only Joking!! But really he loves his baths and smiles the whole way through. Then he is back down by 9:30pm. And lately he has been staying that way until 4:30am somesdays 5:30 but some 3:30 also. I learnt with Charlize to wake them up for a bath them give them one more feed, as I was like you didn't want to wake her up, and she didn't end up sleeping through past 2am until she was 5 months old. And then it still wasn't constant, probably more like 7 months until it was constant. How did she go last night? Hey what is the date for your wedding, you should do up a ticker countdown for it, so we can all count down with you!!!
I don't want to juince (sp?) but Jack has been a different boy over night and today. Fingers crossed the losec is starting to work. I have even been able to stop wrapping him at night, which is a big plus here as DD was wrapped until she was 7 months and I didn't want a repeat of that during summer. And Charlize woke up alot happier this morning too, still very snotty but alot happier than she has been. So all good hear so far today, hope your all having the same.
-
Snap Tracey:p, it's so good to hear that Zyon has improved so much, I bet you much feel like a different lady since you have been getting alot of sleep. Jack has started to improve out of sight too, this losec is good stuff. I'm sure the Zantac would have done the trick too, but he just wouldn't swallow it, little bugger. He loves this losec though, it is Tutti Fruitti flavour, I could drink it:p
What is it now 2 nights or 1 night?
I haven't been to Tuban before, I don't think anyway. Where abouts is it from Denpasar? We did alot of driving, when DH was working there, got lost heaps too:rolleyes:
-
I'm gonna have to feed on a plane come Saturday, so lots of closeness, no time to be coy1 heee heee
Mel, awesome news that Jack's seemingly better!
-
*snap again Mel!
Tuban is basically where the airport is (although the airport is called Denpasar airport)?
Yeah Zyon cries after I put the Zantac in his mouth, I'm sure he hates it, but he does drink it1
Yay, for Jack, it's so much easier o have a happy baby...
-
Ah o.k. than I have been there.:) You'll have to have some chix satays for me, they are my favourite satays I have ever had. Ummmmmmm Satays!!!!!!
-
ooooh no worries, I'm happy to devour anything & everything in Bali!
Plus an odd Bintang!!!!
-
Ummmmmmmm Bintang!!!!!!!!
I'm jealous:p
-
I know I am slowly building up a Bintang Beer Mug collection (dining at various bars/cafes here that sell Bintang & they charge an arm & a leg for the beer.... But put it in special Bintang Beer Mugs so i figure for the cost of the beer here in OZ, surely it includes the glass!??? SSSSSHHHHHH
-

Hi All,
Been MIA for the past week. Since finding out Georgie has hip displacia been preoccupied. Anyway saw Orthapedic Surgeon today and got the brace fitted we expected was needed. The day really was not as bad as we thought, or even bad at all. When the brace was being fitted Georgie was happy as could be. After it was fitted and we put in the pram she went straight to sleep. She has been the perfect baby since the brace is on, feed and straight to sleep. I said to mum if she had been given pain killers in hospital I would have thought she had been overdosed as she is so sedate and peaceful. But she has had nothing so she is just very calm, or in shock at what we have done to her but its not. Just hoping she hasn't got her nights and days mixed up today.
Nappy changing is a bit of challenge as we can't lift her by her legs so cleanning her bum is done kind of blindly. Clothes she are still working out. I took a bigger jump suit with me which I knew would fit her (coz it was so big) when we dressed her we both said she looks like Maggie Simpson in her star suit. But we will work out what clothes she can wear that fit her a bit better.
Anyway will do personals soon but overall the was not upsetting like we thought it may have been, I think it was certainly helped by Georgie not being upset at all.
Disappointing thing is she can't have baths, this was special daddy daughter time and she loves being in the water. I don't think she will like sponge bathing much.
Anyway very long post sorry about that.
-
Hi all,
Fran the 7 hours are still few and far between, but it's a start. Feeding tops are maternity sizes too, so the sizing makes you feel good, mine are a size 10, yet I'm a 16 in normal clothes. i'm planning to get some material and make myself some long boob tube things too, so I can wear some more normal clothes. that way I can cover my tummy and the boob not being used.
Flossie, I hope the pulling feeling isn't anything bad. It could be related to your pelvic floor, you where quite knocked around, it might just take a little longer and some extra exercizes to get back to your pre preg body.
Jemima, I almost got that HAB, still trying to work out the right amount of tieing to be the most comfy. Your sleeps sound great, I can only look forward to that.
Zofia, good girl doing your assignment.
Veronica, the decision on waking or not is a hard one huh, do I wake and risk them not going back to sleep, ordo i try to change the following day to change the night routine. Arrgh, I don't know, I'm still just doing what I'm told, being controlled by a baby lol
Sara, feeding in public not a huge deal. I don't drive, so if I do head out of the house I'm basically putting myself in a position that I will have to feed in public. I have taken advantage of some baby change stations, but I have also just plonked myself down somewhere and started feeding. I'm over it.
Oh I couldn't see a ppic, i'll go ack and have a look tomorrow.
Bridee great to hear that the brace is going well.
Now I have to ask a question. You guys all seem to bath your babies every day. I've been told not to as it's completly unneccesary and can dry out their skin (although we quite often only use water). Have you been told to do it daily ofr a reason, eg routine etcI just feel like we are the only one who do every second day, yet I know heaps of peopel locally that only wash every couple of days too. I'm confused.
Gees its mentally draining meing a mummy.
Night all

Becca ~ everything sounds like it going so awesome with Xavier. I’ve warned DP about leaving Lucas unattended on a table too. It’s a good one to remember that just because they can’t roll now doesn’t mean they might not be tomorrow. Obviously Lucas is not going too far ATM but it’s a good habit to get into early.
V & Tracy ~ I’ve been wondering whether to bath Lucas at night as part of a bedtime thing, but I usually bath him in the mornings when he wakes up. He LOVES the bath and has from his very first one, and when he’s all cleaned up he happily goo’s and gaa’s for ages. He really loves it as his special morning time.
Jemima ~ LOL yes poo is exciting for us. Lucas was born with gastroschisis, an abdominal wall defect where there was a small hole near his belly button. The skin when he was forming did not completely enclose and his bowels were exposed through this hole as he got bigger. Gastroschisis happens somewhere in 2 - 4 weeks from conception and it was diagnosed at my 18 week scan. As you can imagine the rest of the pregnancy was a turbulent and worrisome one but we got through it.
Bridee ~ It’s good to know the appointment and brace went well and that Georgie was peaceful afterwards. I think there is an instinct in babies that tell them when they need to rest their bodies to get better. I’ve seen it a lot with Lucas. They just accept what they need to do and relax; I wish it were the same for us Mummy’s!!
MummyMel ~ sounds like the same sort of think is happening with Jack.
Fran ~ Yes I wish I could have avoided giving Lucas the coloxyl. 2 weeks is a long time for Alessia! How is she now?
Ngala ~ Yay for getting married a ticker is a good idea.
*big love* to all have a great day.
-
Rebecca,
I only bath Zyon in water & bicarb soda, no chemicals, this softens his skin & it is more so to relax him & have a bit of a night time routine so he knows what to expect next!
WOOO HOOO for me Indah put herself to bed yesterday in the bottom bunk, she didnt wnat to sleep in the cot!!!! Then last night she went in the bed again so when we are back from Bali Zy will go into his own room!!!!
It is something we tried to get sorted before ZY arrived but Indah loved her cot!!!
-
Yeah for Indah Tracey, what a clever little girl, or should I say big girl:p
We plan on trying to put Charlize in a bed when we move into our new house, but plan on putting her cot beside her bed incase she isn't ready. We have bought her one of those novelty beds, with wooken panels down the side so she can't fall out. It's so cute, has butterflies on it. We are hoping she will want to say in this until she is about 7 then we will get one of those sigle bunks that have a roll out desk and storage drawers underneath. But we'll see how we go first;)
-
Good morning everyone!!
I am up early today cause i thought Avaleigh was waking up when Jason was going to work, but nope! She's still asleep. So thought I would stay up and have a shower and breakfast while she is asleep... Avaleigh slept from 9.30pm - 4am last night!! We had a busy day yesterday so the routine changed a little bit. My sis is over from Sydney for 3 wks so I picked her up from the airport and we stayed at mum's for dinner. I fed Avaleigh at 6.30pm while at mums and she didnt go back to sleep, so I came back home around 7.30pm. Had a little play with Avaleigh, bathed her about 8.30pm and then had another play and then she fed around 9pm and then was out like a light! No grunting or anything and then I didnt hear her until 3.30am but she still wasnt really awake then so I let her wake up and give me a cry at 4am. She had a big feed on both sides cause my boobs were so full and she went back to sleep! Hopefully I can still manage a shower and breakfast before she wakes.
While my sis is over here she is going to help me lose weight! She showed me everything we are going to do and I dont know what I have gotten myself into!!! I am going to be reallllllllllllllly sore. But I hope I see results cause my sis looks great these days!
I have been trying to use my breast pump but I cant seem to be able to get it to work!! I feel like my breasts are too small and I am not getting good suction?? I might try after my shower and see if I can get it working at all..
ANyways, I hope all is good with everyone. Sorry for no personals but I am in for another busy day.
bye bye!
uh oh - she's stirring!
-
what pump do you have V?
I have an avent Isis, but I do have E-F cups ATM...!
Zy woke heaps last night, but slept in this morning!
-
Happy 6 weeks to us, and isn't it glorious. Xavier thought he would celebrate by sleeping from 8.15 om to 4.15am (yes count them that's 8 hours, then was back to sleep no later than 5 am, and didn't stir till 8.30am, so unheard of here. But I'm ecstatic!!
Veronica, I use the isis as well, but my boobs are a dd so not sure. I did have trouble a few weeks ago, no suction at all. Ended up being that one little bit wasn't staying in properly so there was no seal. I tested it by putting it against my thigh. If you can't get suction on your thigh then it;s the pump. If you can, just try feeling around the edge of the pump and make sure the edge is always touching skin. HTH
Tracey, yeah for indah, your kids are very clever. With bathing I have made this dads job, so I doubt xavier is going to get one every night. Plus with water restrictions and all. Although we don't seem to need it to get him to sleep. Maybe in summer when it's hot we may have to more. Nathan has also decided showers with Xav are more fun, No complaints here, at least I know my husband is clean
How does the bicarb soda work, like epsom salts etc would behave or like a bath bomb or something, a bit fizzy??
August, I especially had to remind nathan about the change table, 'cause it's true he may not roll for a while yet, but then he turned onto his side when he was 2 days old in the hospital, so anything could happen.
Well heres to babies sleeping so I can remain sane.
-
Sorry for the selfish post.
Bad night last night, Lach wont sleep longer than one hour at a time.
He also is really really fussy when feeding... and It's just not working!
I know I have enough milk and I know that it is letting down, but he just cries and cries during feeds pulling off 10 or more times, adn no matter what I do, positions wise, I burp him heaps, Wind drops, I can't get him to stop crying when I try and get him to feed.
I know he is hungry, but he just sucks a few times and then cracks it.
Its driving me mad!!!!!!!
I think he is gettin enough milk... he has mega wet nappies.
I just dont know if he is getting enough, as he doesnt fall off the breast like he used to... and he doesnt fall asleep at the breast... he just cries.
This and the lack of sleep, is really starting to play on me... I am getting very upset especially at night. I love my sleep, always have. But ths is just ridiculous.
I am trying to find the number for the lactation consultant.... but no luck at this stage.
Rebecca, if you happen to know what it is, I will love you forever!
ANyway, He's sleeping a little bit now.... so I'm going to have a little bit of me time.
Sorry again
hope everyopne is going really well.
:(
-
well Lcah has woken up adn wont settle.... suprise suprise. But I have found the number and will call soon.
-
Nicky, it could be a fast letdown? Or it does sound like Zyon was a few wks back.. It turned out he has silent reflux...
You could try calling your MCHN, or the MCHN HOTLINE....
Rebecca, nope the bicarb is just a nice soft feeling in the bath & I have always used it in my babies bath water, never have they had any skin issues, or the milk rash either, it's very gentle on their skin..
-
Yeah Nicky, I think Tracey might be on to something, he sounds alot like what Jack was like to, and he has both reflux too. He didn't always throw up to begin with, actually not at all, that didnt start until a few weeks ago, but what I have come to learn is that he was throwing up but swallowing it again, which was burning him inside (poor little thing). But definately something to ask about, you don't want to leave it too late like I did. Jack is a different baby now:)
Good Luck.
-
Zyon has never vomited so his comes up & then he swallows it, so it burns on the way up & again on way back down! Now he's on meds he too is a different little man!
Mind you he just farted & my knee was dripping in poo!!! eeeew no wonder he was up every 3 hours last night!!!! LOL....
A quick wash down & we are both clean again!
-
Nicky - *hugs* to you.. I agree with Tracey and Mel that it sounds like silent reflux especially the crying at the boob. Avaleigh cries a bit at the boob but I think it is because she feeds too much until she is so full and her tummy hurts. I know now when she is full cause she sucks for a moment and then comes off, does this 5 or so times and then starts crying so I take her off the boob and give her her dummy and she is ok. Would be wise to go and see someone about it.
Tracey and Rebecca - I have the tommee tippee manual pump and I am a size C at the moment. I am pretty sure I am not getting enough suction at the button of the cup cause the cup is right at the bottom of my breast. SO I try to move my breast up but the skin kinda goes wrinkly IYKWIM. I tried it quickly on my thigh and it didnt work.. I might try my bottom later (got my nephew over at the moment) cause there is more fat on it! I might also get in contact with tommee tippee and see if they can help
-
hi there, thanks for the advice
Lach seems to bring stuff up all the time after feeds, but it never seems to worry him.
arrrgghhh I dont know. I have tried calling a lactation consultant, and 2 diff MCHN but they are all not answering so have lfet messages. Hopefully will hear from them soon.
-
Did you call the MCHN hotline???
V, I know with my pump I was certain it was put together properly, but 1 tiny piece was wrong once I fixed it, it sucked like a gem, so make sure it's together properly!!!
Good Luck...
I hope you dont end up with a hickey on your Bum, Jason will be wondering WTF???!!!!
-
I have the avent isis as well and i noticed that if you dont assemble it in exactly the right order there is no suction. I found out after 20mins of pumping one day
Another tip- dont express right after a feed its really hard :(
-
HI
Nicki, which MCHN have you tired?
Michelle at Helm st in K Flat is a lactation consultant and she only works thursday and friday, try there if you haven't already. Otherwise def ring the hotline on 13 22 29. I'm guessing the clinic just had the answering machine on huh?
Let me know if you need anything
Has Lachlan been doing this for very long, and has he been sleeping ok latley?
Xavier did something very similar a couple of days ago, was screaming blue murder doing little chucks telling me he was hungry. I tried everything and eventually got him to bed and he was out like a light. Although if he doesn't settle I've been putting him in the HAB and he falls asleep. A few decent hours of sleep, and he settles better in his cot?? would a car ride or a walk in the pusher help get him to have a few hours? maybe he's not as hungry as he thinks??
I hope all goes well,
Sara, lol for 20 mins didn't you look down and notice nothing was happening? It was the little tiny white thing that buggered me up.
Veronica, lol at trying on your bum. Have you tried squishing your boobs back flat like a pancake against your chest to increase the surface area?? iykwim, sounds a bit silly really when I say it like that. You'll just have to get bigger boobs I'm afraid
-
Bec LMAO yes I looked, just thought i would keep on trying!!!!!
-
well it turns out it wasnt assembled properly!! My sis had a look at it, fixed it and now it sucks!! I am excited to give it a go!! Cant waait to see how much I can get out :D
Im going looking for wedding dresses tomorrow!! That should be exciting..
-
Ahhh so no butt hikkis V;)
Tomorrow should be a blast for you and your sister, how exciting. You must take pics of any you find a show us, although you will probably want to keep it a secret so Jason doesn't see it hey, bummer for us though:cry: We'll just have to wait to see you in it on the big day. Have fun!!!
Nicky, how have things been this arvo?
Tracey, what time are you off tomorrow? Oh how exciting, the girls (and mummy and daddy) must be busting at the seams with excitement. Hope you have a lovely trip, can't wait to see pics.
I can't believe how much of a different boy Jack has been today. I don't know if it's the medicine working or if it's cause he is still a little sick (so very sleepy) , but he has been so well. He has been feeding and sleeping like a champ all day. I hope tonight is a good one. Charlize is staying the night with my mum as we have another open house tomorrow, so a sleep in would be nice, yeah right!!!!
-
 Veronica, I'm sure you could have caused jason some major confusion if you had butt "hickies though" lol Mel that was classic.
Oh it would be good if you can post some pis of dresses if your allowed to take any. when I went shopping for mine I wasn't allowed to take photos, for copywrite reasons, until I owned the dress, but I was allowed to make a copy of the pic from their order book so I could organise accessories.
Have fun with the dresses, and just try stuff on for fun, you will feel so much like a princess. I'd love to go and try wedding dresses on again.
-
Hi Ladies
I hope you and your bubba's are all having a nice night :)
Sorry I have not posted in a while, Things have been a little tough of late, I have been reading though to keep up with how you all are doing. Personals first..
Tracey- You must be very excited now!! Have a great time in Bali. Glad everything was sorted with Zyon before you go. Indah is a clever little girl, deciding she's ready for a big bed all by herself.
Mel- Very happy for you that jack is doing better. How are you all going with the cold/flu thing? Hope you are all on the mend.
Sara- Ethan has been doing some "power poo's" too, its usually at night when where in bed so i have to listen to him groaning and grunting on the baby monitor lol, at least i know he needs a change!! How did you go at the zoo outing? The pic of Kaetlyn is great she is so cute :)
Bridee- Glad to hear that the brace fitting went well, georgie is such a good girl. How has she been with her sponge baths? A few times during the night after ethan has a nappy overflow :D i have given him a sponge bath as its warmer than taking him to the bathroom to bath him, he is ok with it if he has a full tummy and is happy otherwise he throws his arms and legs about and screams the house down lol, as soon as his clothes are back on he's happy.
Bec- I bath Ethan most nights, but i was told by my midwife not to stress if he doesnt get bathed every day as babies dont need to be, but on the nights he doesnt get bathed to just wash his face and hands and nappy area with warm water. I use baby wash stuff and a few drops of johnsons night time oil (at night) during the day if he has a bath i use a different oil, still johnsons but i think its aloe vera and chammomile or something, and that prevents his skin from drying out. I too have warned dh about walking away from the change table and leaving ethan unattended, you just never know when they will roll over, ethan first rolled at 5wks 3days, he did it a few times after but hasn't done it again. I do agree that it is mentally draining being a mummy, lol. Wow what a huge sleep..8hrs!! Here's hoping he does it again for you.
Veronica- It must be good to have your sister back, and its wonderful of her to help you with your weight loss goals, good luck with it. Hows the wedding plans coming along? Its a very exciting time, i had fun getting my wedding organised but was super stressed closer to the date, but everything was great. Have fun trying on dresses, you really will feel like a princess. I didnt get to try dresses on as i wore my mums dress, i loved it but it would have been nice to try heaps on. What a nice sleep avaleigh had lastnight, good little girl
Nicky- Huge hug for you :hugs: i can sympathise with you, Ethan has been the same way for a few days now. Its hard i know, but your a great mum and hopefully he will be back to sleeping and fedding properly in no time. I get upset a bit at night when im really tired and is a struggle to get them off to sleep then you only just get into bed yourself and they are up again. Hopefully its not reflux or anything like that and he is just a bit unsettled.
Fran- How is the Feeding going? Hope its all settling down for you now. Hows alessia doing?
To everyone else, I hope you and you bubba's are happy and healthy.
Well as i mentioned things have been a bit tough, especially as dh is working away 2wks at a time . Ethan has decided that he doesnt want to sleep, for the last three days his biggest sleep was 2hrs and that was only once!! The rest of the time is about 30mins to an hour, but he is still so tired when he wakes up but fights to go back to sleep, he will go off to sleep while he's feeding the when i go to put him to bed he wakes up and then for the next half hour im in and out patting his back and talking to him, then when he finally nods off he is awake again in no time and the fun and games start all over again, i have only had about 5hrs sleep in 3 days and am feeling exhausted, but im sure he will settle again soon (i hope). We are also having some feeding issues, ethan usually has 120mls of formula in his bottle and he drinks it all, when he was going through his growth spurt he would need more, now he will only drink 30 - 80mls and i cant get him to have more and i think he will be starving when he has his next feed but its the same, he is feeding every 2.5 - 3hrs. When we had our check ups at 6wks the Dr diagnosed me with Postnatal Depression, so im not really coping with that to well, i was very confused about it all, but hopefully it will improve quickly. I had a sad day yesterday as no longer have no milk left in my breasts, it made me cry lol i felt silly. On the good side of things Ethan is smiling more often now and he makes lots of cooing sounds when he plays with his jungle gym mat thing and he reaches out to grab the toys. The last two nights at 4am ethan has woken up smiling and chatty lol its so cute but really not the best hour though i wont complain though as long as he is happy, still waiting to get him smiling on camera though, cheeky man seems to be a bit camera shy.
Any way ladies i must go as ethan is starting to have a little whinge and it will soon be a scream lol he has wonderful lungs!! Hope you all have a nice weekend. Sorry about the long post, it has taken me a few hours to finish it as there were a few interruptions!!
Hugs to all mummy's and bub's.
