Yes Jem I know, it would be exciting!! First time around I had no idea I was pregnant until I did a test (I was charting, and fell pregnant straight away).I didnt feel any different except my bb's were tender but that is normal for me one week before AF. I think I only got one day of morning sickness too, on xmas day. So really I could be now and have no idea (!).
A huge part of me and DP also would love another one, we know we want at least one more so it is only a matter of time. (Hehehe I just remembered, this morning I found the positive test strip from my pregnancy with Lucas, I was wishing it were april fools coming up so I could scare the living daylights our of DP just for fun. How wicked I am!!) So if it were to happen we would be stoked but we should really wait awhile!
-
Oooo Oooo who's pregnant, I need a fix too :) Can't wait until someone is.
AMM- I found a preg test from Jack too the other day. Must remember to keep it for April Fools Day, that would be funny. Even better to in front of the whole family, and say it's twins too ;)
-
If you were to accidently leave the pregnancy strip somewhere in the house, and someone were to find it themselves then you wouldn't really need to wait until April Fool's Day because you never actually *said* it was recent...
August - wow, you really seem to have handled a scary situation well with Lucas's birth! Autumn got sick Day 3 and had to go to special care and I must admit, I was quite a mess - absolutely the worst time of my life. I feel calm just reading your story :) BTW Lucas has a fantastic smile.
Jem - thanks for looking at the bag. If it's no thicker than a single, non-fleecy sheet, I'd like to know what brand it is for sure. My friend had her little girl today and called her Charlotte. So pretty and soft, it reminds me of sweet, strawberry cake...mmm,cake...
-
Sacha I have had a look at the grobag - maybe it is more of a sleeping bag I am not sure (we were given it as a present). It is definitely very light weight - like t shirt material and is made of 55% marino wool, 43% cotton and 2% nylon. It is called the original bobux and is new zealand made. There is a website address on the packaging (I am not sure if I can post the address) but if you google bobux I am sure it will come up. If anyone knows if I can post the web address let me know.
As I said I am not sure if it is a gro bag or a sleeping bag or if they are the same thing LOL????
-
Thanks Jem, I looked them up and they seem to not have armholes? Grobags have holes for their arms to come out so they can't wiggle down inside it - it's why they're recommended by the SIDS people over blankets and sheets. I could only find it on a New Zealand auction site though, and the picture and description were not great.
-
Sacha the one I have has arm holes (long sleeved but very light weight).
Good luck with finding something.
MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm - I just ate some Blue Ribbon Cookies and cream icecream and it was so yummy!!
-
Jem, your too much of a bad influence on me, now I feel Cookies n Cream ice cream. No, changed my mind, a Gaytime, ummmmmmm Gaytimes!!!!!!
-
Mmmm yes Mel a gaytme would be divine!! I could go one even on top of my cookies and cream - naughty!!
-
Hi everyone,
how are we all? have been reading your posts, but Jemima, are you pg? cant seem to find where you think u might be. Opps I ment AMM!! sorry!
Mel and Jemima, LMAO, i just had choc brownies with ice cream for dessert! it was really yummy, i had been feeling like it since lunch time today when aaron and I went out for lunch, so decided i would make it for dessert. (I am on msn now chatting to a friend and she is eating a gaytime Mel)
Sacha, we were told in antenatal that sids dont recomend or endorse any items, becasue they cant guarantee that they will prevent sids from happening. and its all a marketing ploy. Have you lokoed on their website? Not to sure though.
LMAO @ the pg stick- i think i threw mine out in my 'nesting hour'. the only place i nested was in the bathroom!
Jas and Amm i read bolth your birth stories- i love hearing everyones, they were both great!! opefully you have inspired me to finish mine!!!
Well Kaetlyn has woked for her last feed of the day so had better attend before the tears start!!
BBL as i have a few q's i want to ask.
Bye :D
-
OMG Sara at you thinking I was pregnant - the thought scares me so much!!! AHHHHHHH is the bet way to put it and a BIG NO WAY!!!! ALthough I know I have said it before I have to get onto organising contraception ASAP!! I am going to live my pregnancy urges through all of you who are going to have more babes!!
-
OMG Jem you are naughty. I think I will get a Gaytime today though during our fridge hunting. Have you decided on a contraception yet? I think I will stick with the mirena. DH said he can't feel it as much anymore, so it just might have been that my cervix was still at the front and is now moving back, but still might have to get th line trimmed. I have a follow up appointment soon, so will wait until then to ask. OMG could you imagine being pregnant again, that thought is so scarey. I feel I'm coping comfortably with 2, I think 3 I would be struggling but 4 under 4 I would definately be suicidal I think.
Ummmmm Gaytime countdown !!!
-
LMAO @ me... sorry read the posts wrong! sorry Jem!! Just realised that you had three already!!!
-
hey everyone!!
I hope everyone is good. I am great - finally went to the hair dressers today and gave myself a new colour!! I will try and get a pic of me up to show you all. I should really update Avaleigh's site, she has gotten soo big!!
I am soooo proud of Avaleigh at the moment. She sat up by herself!!! Has any other babies done this?? I was sitting on the couch and she was sitting on me and I was just holding her legs in place lightly and after a few goes she pulled herself up and I let go and she held herself in place and then started wombling! What a clever girl huh!! She wants to sit up but has no interest at all in rolling over.
Hope everyone is good
-
Hi Everyone,
OMG no wonder I can't keep up with this thread you girls are fast talkers! lol
Jem - LMAO at the possibility of being pregnant again! I would get pregnant again now if a) I didn't already have 3 kids or b) I was doing it as a surrogate! I LOVE the pregnancy and birth bit, just don't want anymore kids right now!
Mel - I hope the op goes well for your ankle hun and that you do have some help with the kids. With your question re clients, I go on call in a week for my final training birth and then I have 2 mums due in Jan and one due in March and need to start sourcing clients for Dec, Feb and April onwards. I am absolutely loving what I am doing and there is no way I could go back to another job now. The last birth I was at I was there for 18 hours of her 25 hour labour and I could not have imagined leaving her half way through like the midwives have to with shift changes.
Veronica - woohoo on having your hair done, there is nothing like a good hair treatment to feel better and yay for Avaleigh - what a clever girl
Sacha - Grobag do make the 3 different togs and the 0.5 tog is basically like the weight of a sheet but as a sleeping bag. I have used all 3 togs for all of my kids, the 1.00 tog is like the weight of a thin towel and sheet.
Bec - What a good little man you have there!
AMM - That is hilarious about teasing your DH - go on do it! lol
Wow I can't believe how quickly 3 months have come around with our little bubs, it really only seems like yesterday that we were all hanging to go into labour or over our pre labour or getting ready to have bubs does it?
I am just enjoying Angus sooooo much I am cherishing every day with him, unlike the wishing away the time like I did and still do with the other 2!
-
Relle, Doula works sounds great. I never thought I'd be wanting to be one. How do manage the on call with the 3 kids???? I told DH that I would love to become a Doula in a few years and he said he didn't know how it could be possible with him doing shift work as well. Do you ever have any probs? I feel bad for saying this, but I feel the same way about Jack. I'm enjoying him so much more than I did with Charlee at his age. Maybe he hasn't had enough time to push me to the end like she sometimes does ;)
Veronica, what a clever chicky Avaleigh is.
I know that they say tummy time is very important for babies, but my 2 hate it. I mean Charlize hated it as a baby and so does Jack. I know it's slack and I should be persistant, but most days I just don't even bother trying anymore. I'm not to worried about strenghening up their neck muscles and both of them have been able to hold their head from birth (must have been all that VJ bashing). But is their another reason why they say it's important? Charlee still learnt to roll over with my help when she was older, and she is o.k. now with everything. Should I be persistant with Jack even though Charlee was fine? The difference between the two of them ATM is that Jack isn't wrapped anymore, where as Charlee was up until 7 months of age and that stopped her from rolling over in her sleep while she was younger. Do you think this is a reason it's important for them to have tummy time early on, to encourage them to roll over earlier so if they do during their sleep, they can roll back to avoid SIDS. Sorry for the 1ooo and 1 questions, its just always bothered me and I have never asked a MCHN or anything.
-
Ummmmm guess what I'm eating, ummmmmm Gaytime, ummmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Mel - I am hearing you, with 2 older brothers there is no way that Angus gets hardly any tummy time cause he is pushing it just to get enjoyable time on the floor.
I think it is mainly to help tone their neck and also arm muscles for when they get ready to crawl as well as roll over, but I haven't heard of any babies that have not been able to do that even without alot of tummy time unless there has been bigger developmental issues going on as well iykwim.
I think they also like babies doing it to prevent the flattening of the skull as the bones develop as well, but the other way to try and avoid that is to move the cots around in their room so they look from different different sides of the head.
With the Doula work, it can be challenging with the births as I don't have any one family wise to call on, but so far I have been lucky adn they have been at night or on weekends so DH has been home. The other thing I am in the middle of organising is a nanny, but I would like Angus to be 6 months + before a nanny is looking after him. My parents are back for XMAs so I will be telling them that they are on call for me in Jan when I have 2 booked, as they awe me from being away for the last 10 months ( yes including Angus' birth. My parents will not meet him till he is 5 months old and that is a sore point! )
I actually had my very first payment from a client today and that was just bizarre! At least I can now say I am earning an income from it though!
-
Just a quick hidey ho... It's been hectic returning & having ppl popping in....
I will try on Monday to write up a bit about our holiday & add more pic's....
Zy also struggles to get tummy time as Indah wants to roll him back over onto his back...
But he has also held his head up from birth...
When the MCHN asks about Tummy Time I nod...??? LOL
He is super chubby now, I cant wait to get him weighed... LOL
Isnt it weird that we want our babies to gain weight & yet I want myself to lose it!!!???
Ok I'm heading off to sleep!!!!
-
Good morning everyone
I am meant to be cleaning the house as DH has taken Oliver and Jesse to the markets and I said I would stay home and catch up on some jobs but I just cant be bothered!!
Hi Relle - that is so cool that you are enjoying your time with Angus and relishing him being a baby!! YAY!!
On the tummy time - Charlotte doesnt get enough either LOL!! I just keep forgetting (2 much else going on) but she seems fairly strong in her neck but I know I should still do it more!!
Mel - I am definitely going to have a gaytime today!! How is Cahrlize going at the moment? Jesse is being a little blighter at the moment GRRRR! He is teething so I know I shoudl be more forgiving but he is just so whingey and clingy which makes it hard to get anything done or spend time with the others. I know this will pass as usually he is pretty low key but gee wizz!! I keep telling myself "dont get frustrated with him, have patience etc etc".
Tracey - looking forward to hearing about the holiday!! I had a look at the picture of your new tattoo - it looks great.
V - what a clever little girl you have!!
Hi to everyone else.
Hope you a have a great Sunday!
Jem
-
Jem, Charlee is teething too. And her exzema still bothers her heaps, so she is really pushing my buttons ATM. It's hard isn't it, when you know it's not their fault they're so miserable, but you just get so fustrated with them. I feel so guilty sometimes when I rous on her when she is like this, I feel like a horrible mother. Like you I just keep telling myself, keep calm don't stress!!! Go the gaytime, I still have 1 left in the freezer as I bought a box of 4, well 2 but DH loves them too.
We are off to a BBQ today, I love the meals you don't have to cook yourself, makes them so much yummier ;)
Tracey, can't wait to see some update pics of Zyon and the girls.
-
-
ahhh he is so cute Tracey. The girls look so big now too.
-
Hi all,
Jemima, yes very cute when he fell asleep, not so cute the scream that cam out when he woke up. he was not a happy chappy.
AMM, ooo PG rumors. You will have to keep us posted. I love the april fools idea, very funny.
Sacha, There are some really good New Zealand made growbags out of marion wool, but very very expensive. Like $150.00, but they really are grow bags in that they last till 2 or 4 years old. You can find them by googling grow suits I think.
Mel, and jemima, you two are naughty talking about food all the time. I'm trying to loose weight here ladies and your tempting me to no end.
Veronica, what a clever little girl you have. Xavier only practices throwing himself backwards to get to boobies. If she's sitting up she will have to go in the cot if she likes it or not, you wouldn't want her sitting up in the bassinet at night.
Relle, I think it's harder to enjoy the first time round with a bubs as it's like you don't know what you've got till it's gone, and it's so overwhelming and such a big change to go from doing whatever you want to working around this little needy person.
Tracey, Wow, Zyon's getting so big. I hope you guys had a great trip.. You would be cold comming back to victoria.
-
Hey,
Just a really quick post to let you know that Noah started rolling over yesterday! very exciting
-
Hi everyone
Welcome back Tracey! Hope you had a good trip. Your pics looks great.
V - for Avaleigh. Diana has alomst sat up a few times, but is not quite there yet. She sometimes looks like she is doing stomach crunches. So cute.
Jas - yay for Noah rolling over!
We finally gave in and bought Diana a pram today. I was hoping to avoid getting one, as they seem so huge and awkward, but the one we got (a BabyLove Trekker) is really light and manouverable and folds up really small. We took it for a spin this afternoon and Diana seems to like it. Unfortunately, my camera broke a few days ago, so I haven't been able to take any pictures. Have to get it fixed soon.
Hi to everyone else.
Diana seems to have fallen asleep, so I better do some study. For those who have asked, I am doing a Master of Educational Leadership. It is a two year course, so after I finish this assignment, I have another year to go.
-
hey everyone!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. We were busy in the backyard and front yard all weekend - hands a feeling a little delicate now!
I'll try and attempt some personals....
Zofia - how have you gone for so long without a pram??!! Good on you for studying - I dont think I could ever go back to school..
Jas - YAY for Noah rolling over!! Avaleigh has no interest in that
Rebecca - Avaleigh has been in the cot for a while now! She loves it and I love it too cause of the 8 hrs of sleep.
Tracey - welcome back and what great photos
LOL @ everyones chocolate cravings!! I've been good and havent had chocolate for nearly 6 weeks now!!
LOL @ the pregnancy confusion!! I am excited at the thought of being pregnant again but I dont think that will happen until Avaleigh is nearly 2 yrs old I think. To those who are wanting more kids - when are you planning to start again???
Well what is happening in my world.... I have been soo busy with all the wedding plans. All the major stuff is organised - YAY and now I just got to find some wedding shoes, jewelry, lingerie. Got to decide on wedding music and the ceremony layout... so really just got the small things to do. Not sure what to do about wedding shoes, had a look at a few shoe shops and cant find anything! Maybe I will buy something online..... I've been really getting in to my weight loss - the last week I went to the gym 7 times in 5 days!!!!! I was sooooo proud of myself and I hope that I cant keep it up. I am looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow morning to see how much I have lost. I did treat myself tonight with dessert so I hope that hasnt ruin it for me!! LOL
Well I better go and see if Avaleigh is asleep yet. Jason took her from me cause I couldnt settle her and she was making me frustrated. She's quiet now so fingers crossed shes asleep.
Oh and I have put on a HEAP of new photos of Avaleigh on her website - she's grown sooo much!
-
Hi there,
not sure if anyone noticed I haven't been around much.... ben extra busy trying to pack, move and look after the little guy!
Very very stressful, but we are slowly getting there.
I have not had the chance to look at all the posts I have missed.
I am currently taking some timeout, to update lachs site... FINALLY!!! I will put a few pics up everyday, as I only have dial up at the mo, and its a real PITA!
Hope all is well:)
luv nicky
-
Squishee ~ Glad to hear your getting there with your packing. How is Lach and how are you going?
Relle ~ Its nice to know we have a doula amongst us. I never heard of them until my good friend had her little girl when I was 10 weeks pregnant myself. I met a student doula here on BB who works in newcastle, but unfortunatley it was a bit late to start and in the end I had an emerg. c/s and no labour whatsoever so wouldnt have been much good for her studies anyway!
Ngala ~ Wow at Avaleigh sitting up! Sounds like everything is going well getting organised for your wedding! How exciting! You might be able to find some nice lingerie and jewellery on ebay.
Star ~ I dont know how you could be without a pram, I'm pretty reliant on mine because we live so close to town and the foreshore that I walk everywhere.
Jas ~ Thats great Noah started rolling over!! What a clever little boy he is!
Becca~ I'm trying to ignore all the chatting about ice-creams too! How is your beautiful little man going?
Tracey ~ Love your pics, you have a very beautiful family and it looks like everyone had a great time. Love the pirate outfit!
Jem and Mel ~ Somehow I know we are not going to have an easy time with teething so not looking forward to it! Love your guys honesty about the frustrating moments I just remember "cuddle me mum" from an article here on BB.
On the home front ~ Lucas is getting used to tummy time. I’ve tried to get at least 10 minutes a day in. I roll up a nappy (I use 2) and pop it under his chest, with his arms up over, it's alot more comfortable for him. He tries to hold his head up and kicks his legs. I tried it the other day when he was really sooky and he feel asleep like that for 3 hours, then again for 3 hours+ the following afternoon it was so cute.
We had a home visit from the mchs this week. Because the clinic is so full the nurse came around to get things started. She was really happy with Lucas and he did everything she wanted him to do like poking his tongue out. I still cant get into the clinic until November and mothers group starts on the 13th.
We took Lucas fishing on the weekend! We love fishing and weren’t too sure how he’d go but figured there was only one way to find out and he was an absolute angel!
And I even caught 3 flathead and a nice bream to boot! We are definitely looking forward to going again and it has given me the confidence that we’d be alright taking him camping this summer too.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
August xx

Forget to say DP is going away today for work so it will just be the two of us all week!
-
Hi girls...hope you're all well :) Have been busy lately so have mostly just had time to read and not post. Things here are progressing nicely - Alessia rolled for the first time (tummy to back) on Saturday! It was so cute and she did it again, and again and again! *hehe* We also had a wedding last night and she behaved so beautifully - I'm so proud of her! Anyways, she's asleep in my arms and will soon be due for a feed - has anyone else's bub dropped to 5 feeds a day?
-
Fran Zyon is demand fed & some days he will have 5 & the next 2 he'll have 10!?
Zy is too chubby to roll, he lays on his back & giggles like crazy though, with deep belly laughs & has tears from laughing so hard!!!
-
Oh that is gorgeous Tracey - I'm still waiting for Alessia to laugh properly! Ifeed on demand too - although it does take 1 hr for me to satisfy her - maybe that's why she may not feed as frequently? When she goes through a growth spurt she'll pick up just 1-2 more feeds.
-
Hi all,
First things first, lil brag from me, Xavier slept from 8pm till 6.30am 10.5 hours. But Gees I was full and heavy.
Jas  what a clever little one you have there. Rolling over.
Veronica, that's good that she has taken to her cot now. Just think one day you will walk into her room, and she will be sitting up staring back at you. You reminding me more and more than I'm going to need to put the side up soon. (I always have it in the down position because he hardly moves. Oh and when they do start sitting up you have to put the mattress down to the low position, lol I'm secretly starting to hope he doesn't sit up for a little while.
More babies? about 2 years here too. We need to build a house to put them all in first. Plus I'm having enough trouble finding time for one at the moment, I'd go mental with 2 so little.
Nicki, yep I'm sure we all noticed you were MIA. Glad to here your all still going well.
amm, Xavier is going well, so far we are having a good day, and daddy came home from work because he's not feeling well, so I have an extra pair of hands today, and now have time to do this. I'm a bit slack on tummy time though. I really must roll up some towels and try that the MCHN suggested it at our last visit.
Fran, wow on rolling too, it sounds like my lil man is a bit of a lazy bugger. he rolled on his side at 2 days old and hasn't done it since.
Tracey, Xavier demand feeds too and we have days like that. loves to cluster feed in the afternoons, I think i'm heading towards a 12 week spurt.
Ok well I can hear a reasonably happy baby in the other room so might have to try some tummy time.
-
just a quickie from me at the moment, as I've got a fidgetty little bottom sitting on me at the moment, and don't want to push my luck too much.
I'd forgotten that there was a 12 week change - it possibly explains why our sleeping patterns have gone out the window over the last few days. Instead of a longish one from around 7 - 3am, we've been up every couple of hours overnight. Feeding one side & then going back to sleep. It's doing my head in (and making my bb's want to explode). I thought that it was perhaps because we've been housesitting at my sisters place for a few days & it was just the different environment, but maybe more to it than that. Hopefully won't last too much longer.
Liam has his 12 week appt tomorrow, and I'm really keen to see how much he's grown over the last 4 weeks. He's growing out of 000 pants, which is making me a bit sad, cos it's just going so quickly. Before I know it he'll be asking for the car keys, and won't be nearly so tolerant of the number of kisses & cuddles I am giving him. I tell him that he needs the kisses to make him grow big & strong, but suspect that at some stage he'll work out that this isn't quite the case.
Anyway, fidget bottom is getting hungry, so better go. Will try to BBL for some personals.

Hi all
Just a quick one from me as Idol is on!!
I am so tired at the moment as Jesse slept terribly last night due to him teething and his crying woke Charlotte and she took a little while to resettle. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight - I dosed him up on panadol so hopefully that does the trick! On a postivie note the teeth should be through soon so hopefully we can go back to a sleeping household!!
Tracey - I had a look at your photos and you have a beautiful family.
V - I cant believe you get married in just over 60 days. SOunds like youa re dong really well with the exercise.
Jan - I know what you mean about them growing up so quickly. I cant believe how quickly they change from a newborn to a little person. Scary cause as you said they will be asking us for the keys before we know it!!
rebecca - I know I have said it before but WOW at Xaviers sleeping. How fantastic for all of you.
AMM - good luck for your week with out DP. My DH goes away a lot for work and BB is a great place to get support/vent when you are doing it all on your own.
Zofia - as I have said before you are amazing to be studying, working and being a mother.
Mel - have you eaten your last gaytime? I have run out of cookies and cream icecream so of course I am having desperate cravings for it. DH wont go and get me any - not that I can blame him for not wanting to go out at this time of the night LOL!!
Hello to everyone else.
Ok gotta run and to see who is getting voted out!
BBL to see what is going on.
Jem
-
Jem, had it tonight. DH didn't want his, but I warned him, that if it's not there the next time he wants it, that it's not my fault, it would be like leaving candy in front of a kids and telling them to watch it for him, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. We must have juinced each other the other night, cause I have been up twice during each night since with Jack. DOH!! Charlee cut another tooth today. She now has 6 up the top and only 2 down the bottom, looks so cute. How many is Jesse at now?
Who went on Idol? I missed it.
AMM, when does DH leave? Or has he already?
V, well done on the exercise, I can't believe how close our wedding is now, time is flying by. Have you decided on a place for a honeymoon yet?
I got a new mobile phone today, it's a cool pink one. I wanted a new one for christmas but thanks to Charlize throwing it down our toilet I got it today. The only bummer is I now have to chase up all the numbers that was in it, what a pain in my a55 that is going to be.
-
Hi girls, just pooping in to check the posts before I fall too far behind, but I am buggered and heading to bed soon as I am having a bit of hard time with Angus feeding and waking earlier than normal atm
I think I need to slow down a bit and let my supply build up.
AMM - thanks for the encouragement re Doula-ing. I am here to help if and when I can!!! lol
-
Hi Mel
Ben went on Idol tonight which was a bit of a surprise but at least it wasnt my fave Matt although he was in the bottom two.
Jesse has 6 teeth at the top and six on the bottom - four of the top and four on the bottom are at the front and the rest are at the back. it is his eye teeth that are giving him grief at the moment.
Fingers and toes crossed we both have a good night tonight. Oliver and Jesse are in childcare tomorrow so I hope to catch up on a bit of rest then. Ahhhh I love Tuesdays!!
talk soon
JemXXx
-
Hi Relle we must have posted at the same time. I hope you have a good night and the boys sleep for you and allow you to catch up on some sleep. Make sure you look after yourself and slow down (if thats possible LOL).
Take care.
Jem
-
LOL Thanks Jem. I wish both of my kids were in care together, the closest I get to that is Tuesdays when my sister normally nanny's for me for the day, but her kids are sick so she is not coming tomorrow and I have had to cancel 2 Doula appointments, but now will have to do them at night and will make me even more buggered!
ppffftttt Slow down - you of all people know that is not possible! lmao
