Hi all,
Danielle, great to hear Oscar's sleeps are increasing for you.
Tracey You time, how great. I'm getting my hair done tomorrow morning. I'm so excited. I hope Nathan copes. at Indah undressing herself, she mustn't want to wear those clothes.
Welcome Megan
Fran, I hope you enjoy your mums group. I had my first yesterday, and I am really glad I went. Great sleeps your having. that sounda a little what Xav was doing, but last night he was plum tuckered out and fell asleep at 7pm, so decided 4 am was a nice time to wake. sucked for a few minutes and fell asleep. What's with that??
Veronica, Yay on the wedding dress ooo it's getting close isn't it
Welcome Jo
Ok sorry I've tapered off on personals, but someone interrupted me halfway through this post and is not content to just lay on the lounge room floor watching telly while i finish.
Catch ya's
-
ahh, ok I have 5 mins to finish off.
Mel, you poor thing. You must be exhausted.
amm, I was looking at our clean laundry last night, and  Nathan and I and our big clothes had one basket full of clothes to put away. then there were about 2 towels to go in the bathroom. and then the smallest member who has the smallest clothes had an entire washing basket to himself. Well at least we aren't doing a load each day, or more, like when we first bought him home.

Hi everyone, sorry it will take me awhile to get to know whats what!!
I thought i had the textbook baby this morning-----Lucas woke at 7.15am, had a decent bottle which he hasn't had for a week due to a cold, back to bed at 9 for 2 hours (which is unheard of he is a catnapper!) so i was wrapped cos i had mothers group at 11, but got there and he screamed!!!!!! He seems to hate people at the moment and gets so startled by things....doing my head in!!
Oh well at least he slept the whole night!
August - we got the name Lucas from Lucas Neill the soccer player! We are not major soccer fans or anything but just liked the name!!
Thanks for all the welomes!
-
Hello all
Just a quicky from me as I am feeling rather worn out today - dont know why casue everyone is sleeping well - although I must say I am looking forward to day light savings as Oliver is waking a bit earlier than I would like (but not too bad)!
Sara - I am about to go an have a look at your masterpieces. You sound very crafty.
Megan- yay for Lucas sleeping the night through. Heres hoping the screaming session was just "one of those things" and I hope it doesnt happen too often! Charlotte had a bit of a scream this afternoon but it was because Jesse (who sits next to her in the car) took her dummy and gave her a rather rough "love" (pat) on the head. She was beside herself and I couldnt find the dummy and of course I seemed to get all greeen lights so I couldnt stop at the traffic lights to find the dummy. Luckily we werent too far from home LOL. Are you enjoying your mothers group?
Bec - isnt it amazing that these little people can cause so much washing! Enjoy the haircut.
Mel - hope Charlee is feeling better now that she is on antibiotics and I hope you can get a bit of rest. You poor things. Take care of yourselves.
Jo - welcome to the July group - I think we have a great bunch of girls. Look forward to getting to know you and hearing how Michael is going.
Fran - how did the mothers group go?
Zofia - I am sure you have said before but when are you getting married? How exiting - two weddings in here!
AMM - how did the shopping session go?
Hello to everyone else.
I had a facial and massage this afternoon which was DIVINE!! I could feel the stress and knots in my back melting away. DH took all three children to the cricket at Adelaide oval and coped very well!
Well I had best run and have a relax on the couch.
take care everyone

Hi Everyone!
I am new to this forum and I hope nobody minds if I join in on this thread.
My bubba Benjamin was born on 20 July in Australia, but we are living in Hong Kong. Have been here for about three years now. Ben was born with Talipes Equinovarus (Club Feet) so we have been doing his treatment at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and I am happy to say it is all going well. At the moment he has to wear boots with a bar in between (to keep his feet in the correct position) for 23 hours a day, but in 4 weeks he should go down to just wearing them at night - and I can not wait for that! :D
As for sleeping … well, I wish I could say I was very well rested, but a normal night for Ben is waking up at 10.30pm, 2am, 4am then 5 then 6 and that's when I usually give up! :D
I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing our baby joys and woes!
Mel

Welcome Mel and Ben. :) I must say that Ben was born on a wonderful day! (Same day as my DD Kaetlyn). Hope all goes well at the appointment.
Just a quick question? what time do you all put your bubbas down to sleep at night? I usually feed Kaetlyn around 10.30 ish the rock her to sleep (over the last week she absolutly refused to go to sleep in her cot at night - and screams blue murder the minute I put her in- where as morning after her feed it is okay and she will sleep for anouther three hours in it).
She is usually asleep by about 11.30. Is this to late? should i be putting her in her cot ealier? She is sleeping through till about 8am (although this morning she slept through till 10am). Again is this to late or her to be sleeping?
tIA everyone. going bedy bies now

Hi ladies
Just posting to say HI:)
Im sorry i haven't posted for a bit, i have been reading though just unfortunatley things have taken a down hill slide around here atm and i have been keeping a low profile as i have not been the most cheerful person in the world.
My little darling has decided that waking every 2hrs at night is the BEST thing again, grrr...i got too used to his big sleeps, and he will only catnap during the day, i also have a nasty virus thing and i feel exhausted. Im keeping my fingers crossed ethan doesn't catch it, so far so good though, so happy about that. The other issue i will not bore you all with (looong story!) And to top it all off AF is just around the corner again, i wish she would turn around and go elsewhere for another week or so!! Shouldn't complain really 10.5months with out was wonderful:D Well i will stop rambling and hopefully will pop back tomorrow and post better.
Any way ladies hope you and your bubba's are happy and healthy.
Enjoy your weekends. Oh and Welcome to all the new mummy's and baby's.
Nighty night!
-
i just wanted to say thak you for the wonderful welcome - with my DF working away i have found great confort in talking to people on line - especially with young one around michaels age
Blue flower - my little man at first was going down around 11-11.30pm as well which i found really hard as i am someone who loves my sleep - i would feed him around 7 at night and then he would fall asleep for an hour or two in his rocker in the lounge room while i watched telly or did the dishes - when i finally put him in his cot he would wake once or twice through the night looking for comfort. then one night (i think he was about 8 or 9 wks old) i decided to put him in his cot after that 7 o'clock feed and from that night on i found that he would sleep through (the first night he complained a bit but enventually fell asleep) - i thought i was a miracle worker....that is until i told my mum. she pointed out that maybe because he was napping in his rocker with the telly on and the lights on he wasn't getting a deep restful sleep and that since i had put him in the quiet darkend place (his door is always open with the hall light on) his sleep was far deeper and more restful - it lasted til last week when the teething signs started (thankfully they look like they are subsiding - we've had two nights in a row without waking and no panadol or other pain relief). i even put him in his cot now between 7 or 8pm whether he is tired or not and follow the same routine every night of bathing and massaging just so he is aware that that is his bedtime and this happens everyday regardless - even if we are out around that time i sing to him and pat him to sleep before he goes in his pram just so we don't confuse him
but of course each baby has his or her own routine and this may not work but it's a thought
-
Welcome Bens mum - glad to have you join our group. I am looking forward to getting to know you and hearing about Ben. A friends baby boy was born with club feet and is is now doing amazingly well. He is about 18 months old and still wears the brace at night but he started walking at about 14 months and is about to start wearing shoes other than boots. He wasnt and still isnt bothered by wearing the brace.
Sara - I put Charlotte to bed ats 7pm and she sleeps until somewhere between 9pm and 9.30pm when I try to wake her and give her a top up which and she is back in bed asleep by 10pm. She then sleeps until somewhere between 5am and 6am and has a feed then goes back to sleep until somewhere between 7am and 8am. This just works for us as I have to try and fit her feeds etc in between dealing with the boys. If I was you I would try experiementing a bit with feeding her early and seeing if she still sleeps through. Onthe same hand if you are happy feeding her at 10.30 then keep doing it. Do what works for you I reckon. I dont think 10am is too late to be sleeping - sounds like bliss!!
Tears of joy -hugs to you. I hope Ethan goes back to his good sleeping habits soon. Take care of yourself.
Michaels mum - my DH is away a lot as well and you are right about finding great support from a place such as BB.
It is a beautiful day here which makes keeping two little boys happy much easier. I willBBL to see what is going on.
Take care
Jem

Morning everyone! Sorry i can't do many personals my brain is fried! So much for the sleeping through, lucas was up at 11pm and then 3am. I think we stuffed up cos he was fed both times and i think we should have given him a bit longer of grizzling and trying to put himself back to sleep cos this morning he only wanted 60 mls out of his bottle, he has got it all messed up! The worst part is that i spend the rest of the night awake and stressing that we shouldn't have fed him and i am exhausted!!!!! I stress way too much!
Welcome to Mel and Ben!
Jemima - Mothers group is really good, it's great to get out and all the mum's are really nice! I admire you coping with three kids! I find one pretty tough!
Sara - we try and have Lucas in bed by about 9 - last feed around 8pm but it doesn't always work. Usually before the last feed he is really unsettled and we shower/bath, feed and bed. But lately he has been sleeping through from the previous feed where he might go to bed about 6.30 and we never know whether to wake him up or not for another feed. It's all trial and error!! More error than anything!!
Tears of joy - there is nothing worse than sleep deprivation, i hope it all improves soon!!
Have a great day everyone, i hope you all had more sleep than me!

Hi everyone,
Welcome to all the newbies.
BensMum, a little girl in my DD swimming class has club feet and she is going great. She has just started walking and is getting better every time I see her. Look forward to getting to know you better.
Megan, hi and welcome. Our boys must be working off a similiar clock ATM, little buggers. I'm still hoping Jack is just going through another growth spurt, and it hasn't turned into habit.
Michaelmums, sounds as though you have a good routine going with Michael. It's great once you can get them to know when bedtime is, it makes it so much easier to settle them at night hey? My dad is working up in Townsville ATM, he loves it up there, so do I, a little hot but I guess you would get used to that, I just love the look of the lifestyle.
We are having a better day today. Looks like Charlees antibiotics are starting to kick in. She isn't as grizzly or clingy, and her mucus isn't as green as the last couple of days. And more importantly she sleep through last night, which was a big yey for me, as I was exhausted.
Jack slept a little better too, gave him a shot of panadol before I put him down, as I thought he was is a little pain from his mouth, and he slept 2 hours longer, so don't know if it were a coincidence or not, but he definately slept better. He is chewing on his hands alot lately so I wonder if his teeth are starting to move. Charlee didn't get her first tooth until very late but they started to move up and down from about 5 months, so I think he might be like her.
Jessikah, I hope you start getting some more sleep soon, I agree with Megan there is nothing more than being sleep deprived. Good luck
Jem, your DH sounds so lovely. I would feel a million bucks if I could have a massage and a facial. What is your secret? How do you get him to take the kids ;).
I got the kids photo back today from Pixie, I love it. I must take a photo of it and put it on the site. I can't wait to get proper professional ones done, when Jack is 8 months old.
Hi to everyone I have missed. Sorry, I will BBL.
Anyway must be off, take care all.
-
Hi,
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
BlueFlower - I feed Ben at 7pm and he will be in bed asleep by 7.30 - 8pm. He doesn't sleep through, usually wakes between 1 and 3 more times. I have no idea what makes a difference to how long they sleep. I like him going to bed this early as then I can cook dinner and DH and I can eat together and in peace. :D
We had a family day out yesterday and went to a place called Stanley where they have great restaurants and markets. Ben was a very good boy and only started to get niggly on the bus ride home so I gave him a dummy to chew on (no he doesn't suck it, just chews away!)
Am pretty excited at the moment as he had a 45 minute sleep, then when he woke up he still seemed a little sleepy, so I have just put him back to bed! - this NEVER happens!
Everyone says things get so much easier after three months - does anyone else think this is true?
Mel

Hey Mel,
Yey for having a nice family day out. Regarding the 3 months question. I have really enjoyed and coped alot better this time around with a newborn for the first 3 months. I still did enjoy Charlee, but it was different. With her I really looked forward to the next stage (3 months and beyond), as I really missed my sleep and I was all blown away with what to do with a newborn. But this time I really enjoyed those early days as I knew what to expect. I think alot of mums second time around would feel the same. But I would still agree, things become alot easier after 3 months. My guess it's because we know them by now, we have learnt what it is they want and need. What do you think? I also think they get soooooo much cuter now aswell, just when we thought it wasn't possible. They really start to show us their personalities.
I hope he is still sleeping for you.

Hey... We been busy since getting home from Bali...
So just popping in quickly before I'm off to bed!
Did some gardening today, they forgot to charge us for a Weeping Cherry Blossom so that was a super bonus!
My neck is sore though from gardening & lifting stuff...
Then we had friends pop in & I fed Zyon 1 boob & then he sat talking & giggling in his bouncer & I leant over to pick him up about 20mins later & my other breast had leaked everywhere! Mmmm, very noice look!? Oh well!
tomorrow we are out to catch up with friends whose son recently turned 2 & so did Indah while we were away so we are having a belated 2nd b'day get together!
Zy gets weighed on Tuesday I am so interested to see how much he weighs as alot of the clothes he was in when we left for Bali, no longer fit!!!

Hi everyone
Welcome to all the new mummies and babies! Hope you enjoy your time here.
Diana had her 4 month immunisations on Friday. She was not a happy girl. Poor thing screamed and cried like I've never heard her cry before. It was horrible. She's been a bit delicate all weekend. This afternoon I was supposed to go to a friend's poetry reading, but poor Diana screamed and screamed as I tried to get her into the car, so I decided to give her some panadol and just stay at home. She is finally sleeping now, so hope that she wakes up feeling better.
On a good note, I got all my house work done this weekend (doesn't happen that often), in time for my sister to come over and annouce that she's engaged, which is really awesome.
I have decided that I hate my job, so am not looking forward to going to work tomorrow. Sigh. Not sure whether I should try and stick it out or if I should look for another job. The money at this one is really good, but I am so miserable that I am spending it all on retail therapy, so I don't know...
Jo - sorry to hear that poor Michael is miserable. Unfortunately I have no advice. I have had a miserable bub on my hands all weekend. :( Just be as gentle and kind as you can and hope that it passes soon.
August MM - yes, finding time to write essays is tricky too. Luckily the essays for this course aren't overly long, but I am still having to make the time.
Rebecca - LOL re Xavier having the most clothes. I did the laundry last night and most of it was Diana's. At least the smaller items are easier to hang up.
Jemima - I am getting married on 06 November. Yes, it is exciting! Yay re getting a facial and a massage. I am so jealous. Maybe I should make time to get one for myself...
Sara - Diana usually goes to sleep between 7:00 and 8:00pm. I then give her a dream feed sometime between 10:00 and 12:00, and she usually wakes for another feed around 4:00 - 5:00am. I don't think Kaetlyn is sleeping too late or anything. As long as it fits in with your routine, then it should be fine. :)
Jessikah - Sorry to heard that you're having a tough time. Hope it gets better for you and Ethan soon.
Megan - hope you get more sleep tonight. I'd say "don't stress", but it's easier said than done, isn't it?
Mummy Mel - good to hear that Charlee and Jack are getting better. Hope they're both completely well again soon and let you get more rest.
Ben's mum Mel - I think that by about 3 months we get to know our bubs a bit better and they get to know us a bit better and we all relax into our routines a bit more. So things probably get more relaxed about that time. Glad to hear you and Ben had a good day out. I haven't taken Diana on a bus yet. I wonder how she will like it when I finally do...
Tracey - hope Indah's party goes well! Good luck for Zion's weigh in on Tuesday. Diana is getting weighed on Tuesday too.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.
-
Zofia, poor little Diana with her needles. I hate needle days, our 4 month lot for Jack are next week. Then Charlee is due for her 18month ones in a months time, not looking forward to that. Her are in her arms now, and she hates it. I hope she is feeling much better now. OMG you only have 16 days until your wedding, how good is that!! Can't wait to see photos.
-
hey all
i have a quick question - have any of you been on a plane with your bubs yet? how did they go? any tips? I have to travel from townsville to newcastle in three weeks and i'm starting to get a litlle nervous - and to make matters worse michael is due his 4mth needles the day before we leave - yikes :wall: i have no idea what i'm going to do  i mean he was bad enough with the 2mth ones (as you've probably all been through - dah jody)
Zofia you must be gearing up for the big day now - i've got mine in feb and alreay i have butterflies - and congrats to your sis
Mummy mel - i'm sure jack will be a very brave boy next week - however i'm more like charlee and hate the things my sympathy to you all
Sara - hows the sleeping thing going - if your still worried about dd sleeping too late you could always go by the saying 'let sleeping babes lay' - just think in a couple of years when she terrorising the house at 5 in the morning you'll long for these morning back - i count myself luck if i get to sleep to 7am
Hope all had a wonderful weekend:p and an even groovier week to come:dance:
-
Hi Michaels mum - I took Charlotte on a plane about 3 weeks ago and she did really well. I fed her when we were taking off and as we were coming into land and other than that she slept for most of the two hour flight.
I think another option apart from the feeding is to make sure the baby is sucking a dummy when taking off and landing. HTH. If you are worried about how he will be after his needles can you hold off getting them until you get back or are you going to be away for a while?
Zofia - wow how exciting your wedding is so close!
Mel - glad Charlee is starting to feel better - hope you have caught up on some sleep! How is the packing going?
Hi to everyone else.
I am watching Idol so I have to run.
BBL
Take care

Hello,
Tracey - LOL about the leaking boob! I decided one night to try and do away with the nursing pads - BIG mistake. First feed and we were both soaked! Ben is just starting to move up a clothing size too! Very exciting as I have so many clothes that we were given that he is yet to fit in to! Ben's weigh in is on Thursday.
Starfish - Poor Diana and the nasty needles. How is she feeling now? Does she have a reaction to them? As for the bus, we don't have a car here, so Ben has been on buses, ferries, taxi's and in vans - and not one safety seat in sight!
Michaels Mum - we brought Ben from Sydney to Hong Kong when he was 6 weeks old. It is a 9 hour flight and he went really well. We were using a dummy at that stage so that helped. We had the bassinet seat but I didn't think he would sleep in it so either me or DH held him for the whole flight (using the baby bjorn too). I tried to feed Ben on the descent (that is the important one) but he was hungry about half an hour before then, so had to feed him early. I am taking him back to Sydney in about 4 weeks and going on my own this time!
Concerning his needles - I read that you should hold off on immunisations until after holidays, just in case they have an adverse reaction to the needle? Maybe you could put it off till you get back...
Ben had a terrible night sleep last night! I lost count of ho many times he woke up needing his human pacifier! I hope tonight is better
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and has a great week coming!
Mel

Good evening everyone!
Well, thanks all for you help on the sleeping times. I have been trying to put Kaetlyn to bed ealier, but it seems that she likes the sleep ins and the late night feeds. the other thing is that she needs to be racked to sleep- somehow he self settling went out the window the other week and wont put herself to sleep.
Seeing as we have been changing her routines around a bit, we brought her a sleeping bag as she was unwrapping herslf and waking up cold. last night was the first time and it seemed to go okay- I got home about 12 and put her into her cot once she was alseep again and she selpt throught till 10am- which was great as I was buggered and DH didnt get home from work till 2am, so he got a good undisturbed sleepin before having to go back to work this afternoon.
MIL and I went shopping today- Kaeltyn got a bit spoilt, new sheet set, another sleeping bag with a lower tog, all the letters of her name to put on the wall in her room, 4 more MCN's (i brought 2 yesterday), and I also got a really nice nappy bag to get as my xmas presant. I love it. sure beats the daggy one that came with the pram. It doesnt even look like a nappy bag, and later on can just carry it around and it will look good. It cost a small fortune, which is why MIL offered to buy it for xmas present. Also got a cute wall hanging whhich has a growth chart on it. It was in the bargin bin for $19.95- reduced from 49.95, the sheets were reduced to 24.95 from 59.95. BARGIN.
Now for some personals:
Zofia: Goodluck for you wedding! I have been to ones at the registery before and theya re nice and personal. Hehehe you'll have your own little flower girl, well kinda! you'll have to push her down the aisle yourself!
Bens mum, hope tongiht was a better sleep for you!
Micheals mum, i would hold off on the immunisations as well, depending on how long you are down there for, if not could you bring them forward a little- like 3 days? I know that if they are sick they have to wait for them anyway. Townsville to newie is a funny kind of trip. Is it for the airforce? My bro is in the army up at townsville- please dont hold that agaimst me :D Hehe i am going to newcastle tomorrow infact- we are having a famil day out and will take kaetlyn to the beach and prob have a picnic lunch.
Jemima- hope you enjoyed Idol! I seem to have lost interest this season. the judges were giving me the piddles. Its the same every year... boys are left cause the teenage girls love them. I went last year to 2 shows, one was an eviction night - it was the one just before the opera house. the other time was a performance show, about 2 weeks earlier. I remeber I had to stand, and I kept getting dizzy! Silly me, I was pregnant at the time. A lady that we went with (and her son) had said to me.... 'lucky you arnt pregnant sara cause that was a lot of standing'. She knew we were TTC, hehehe turns out I was!!! I found out the next week -mind you after she told me to take HPT cause I was going all weird. silly lady knew before I did!
Tracey- you sound really busy. I am not sure how you do it all!!! Glad you enjoyed you hol and I love the Tat!!! I would love to get one with Kaetlyns name. So would aaron. I think his mum would kill us, but would understand that now we have a daughter she will forver be with us.
Oh and also wanted to ask:
1. does anyone elses bub have a chronic tongue sticking out issue? Kaetlyn seems to be forever sticking it out!
2. does anyone elses bub like to sleep on their side- kaetlyn went to sleep just beofre by herself....... on her side. I checked with sids and they dont reccomend it. I just rolled her back over, and tucked the sheet back in, hopefully she will stay put.
Well am going to put a load of washing on adn then go to bed.
xoxox

I flew with all my kiddies as babies & have never had any probs, either a dummy to suck when landing or feeding them at that time will help the pressure in their ears...
We just got Zy's 8wk immunisations last wk, due to us travelling & me not wanting a reaction whilst o/s.
Maddy was rolling at 9wks both ways front to back & back to front, there was nothing I could do to keep her on her back & she hated being swaddled so I just let her roll all over her cot...
So if bubs can roll then I'd allow them to sleep on their sides? Zyon's too chubby to roll... hee hee
Off to shops today, back to a crapload of school kids b'days coming up & so gotta go get presents... grrrrrr

time for a new thread everyone
