Welcome Tina and Mikayla. Of course we dont mind you popping your head in!
Now we have 3 boys and 3 girls - yay!

Mel - I completely jinxed myself with the feeding comments. Maddison did a 3 hourly then a 2 hourly last night!

I have put some photos of Maddison on her webpage (link at the bottom of my signature.) Have do I go about putting a photo of her next to my ticker? Help?

    Hi everyone

Wow, this thread is quiet compared to the belly buddies one! (No surprise there, lol.)

Diana is doing really well. At 4 weeks she weighs 3.25kg, which apparently is excellent. Yay! She was 2.485kg at birth.

Mel – My labour was okay, more painful than expected but not too scary. After my waters broke they didn’t try to stop the labour, in fact I was part of a trial where they induced it. The only scary bit was right towards the end, after I had been pushing for nearly one and a half hours and it turned out that Diana’s head was facing the wrong way, which was why she wasn’t coming out. The doctor asked if I wanted “help in getting the baby out”. For a moment I thought that I might need a cesearean or that there might be complications, so that was frightening. What ended up happening was that I got an episiotomy (which I had been scared of before going into labour) and they pulled Diana out with forceps (which I had also been scared of before). Funny how both of the things that I had been frightened of while I was pregnant ended up being okay during the birth. And I am extremely grateful that Diana didn’t need any time in the special care unit. All she needed was three nights treatment for jaundice on a billi bed (which she hated, but got through okay).
Re feeding – I am breastfeeding Diana and she is getting EBM once a day when I am at work (twice on Mondays when I work the whole day – I am thinking of negotiating a half day as I do for the rest of the week) and another bottle of EBM at night. Overall she feeds on average every 2-4 hours. If we are lucky, she has one stretch of 5-6 hours sleep once a night, but unfortunately this hasn’t happened too often yet. I am hoping that as she gets older, she will get better at sleeping for longer.

Rebecca – I’m sure that you will be welcome here no matter when your baby arrives.

Hope you all have a good night.
